The Dancing With The Stars premiere on Monday was wildly popular and was viewed by nearly 24 million people. It was a record debut for the show, which garnered the highest ratings in its time slot for ABC in nearly 10 years. It doesn’t hurt that there are plenty of well known stars on the show this season, which includes Pamela Anderson, Shannen Doherty, and unfortunately Kate Gosselin. Gosselin tanked in her debut, with outspoken judge Bruno Tonioli calling her technique “terrible” and saying that it looked like she was being pushed around “like a shopping cart.”
In contrast to her poor performance, Gosselin was haughty and arrogant in pre-show interviews, vowing that she was going to win the competition and promising to prove everyone wrong. Kate might just surprise us with the lengths she’ll stoop to garner sympathy and votes. On her pre-show interviews, Kate said that she was doing the show for “all the moms out there,” and you know she brought that up to get the mom vote. According to Rob Shulter at Popeater, Gosselin plans to get even more votes by bringing her children to the show and seating them in the front row. At least they’ll get to see more of their mom that week, even if they’re watching from the sidelines:
A whopping 24 million viewers tuned in for Monday’s premiere of ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ Much of that attention was, let’s face it, due to the curiosity of watching Kate Gosselin do her thing. Among those watching was PopEater’s very own Rob Shuter, who visited HLN’s ‘The Joy Behar Show’ last night to give his take on Kate’s so-called “disaster” of a night. Not only does Rob not think Gosselin will go home any time soon, he thinks, “She’s gonna win this show.”
Rob also says, “A friend of Kate’s told me that if she thinks she’s gonna be in the bottom two, expect eight little faces to be in the front row next week!”

I would expect this from Kate, but it still seems like a cheap move. People will go “aww, her kids are darling” and never realize how calculated it was.
In related Kate Gosselin news, the upcoming issue of In Touch [via MSNBC’s The Scoop] is reporting that Kate spent a whopping $35,000 on cosmetic procedures ahead of her DWTS appearance. Her rep denies that, saying “Kate doesn’t have that kind of money to burn.” I’m thinking she connived to get a lot of those procedures, which allegedly include botox, eye work, and facial work, comped. Just like that freebie fake hair she’s obsessed with.
Pimping out the kids for votes. That’s classy. I can’t stand this woman.
That would be a cool move, bringing the kids to the show, I’d love to see them they are so adorable.
So, this is different from other mom’s having their kids in the audience how exactly?? Why do you people have it out for her so badly? Nothing she’s done (or hasn’t done – no one knows 100% except for Kate) has affected you personally, why do you care so much?

So she blabs on and on about her christian values, collects tons of “love offerings” (cash) from her large christian fan base, says she doesn’t have the ability to take her kids to church anymore but she can bring them to DWTS?
OK, what’s up? Kate always looks slim to me. However, she looked darned fat standing next to Pamela Anderson. Either Kate was padding her tummy, for some weird reason, or Pamela is teensy weensy. On a Pam note: Some people were making a big deal of her dancing well with her giant breasts. After seeing her next to Brooke Burke (a DWTS winner), I can’t see how HER breasts are going to be a problem.
Great idea – take 8 little kids out of school (and the therapy Kate said they are in) to travel to LA. In fact, America will get to see their frowning, unhappy faces & send Kate home to be with them again!!!
I love this show and after finally watching it last night – I will love the show even more once Kate is gone!! She is such an absolute Shrew…and I am tired of people wanting us to like her…she’s not a very likeable person. Personally, I think her kids are probably better off with not having her around…but I want her off my favorite show. Honestly, I think this is a great cast – most of them are so loveable!!
Yep, Kate’s going to use those kids for all she can. Cracks me up people still think she’s doing this ‘for the kids’, bunch of crap. Its all to keep her in the limelight. and that article about the surgery is correct but the number is actually closer to 55K if you count the whole new set of veneers she had done too. and YES, she connived surgeons and businesses to get that shit for free. I doubt the plastic surgery would have been done free since she will deny it and the PS will not get any publicity for it.

i know that kate will be there for at least a couple of more weeks because I am sure ABC will see to it. FeeBee — I don’t think it’s a super-wonder bra, I think it is just breasts that aren’t actually part of her body. The dress she wore for that Waltz made her breasts look alarmingly big and unreal on DWTS. (I guess we are all used to looking at Pam’s!) I was never more than an occasional viewer of her reality show, but I’m pretty sure I would have remembered those things!

Have you ever seen Jon & KHate plus 8? If you have, then you know what I am talking about with Mady. She has THE worst attitude of all the kids, and if things don’t go her way she totally melts down. She is a Mini-KHate. This child was allowed to scream and stomp her feet and talk back to her parents and fought with the adults as well as her siblings…when things didn’t go her way.
