Tiki Barber was screwing NBC intern/mistress for at least 2 years

At the beginning of this week, Page Six announced that NBC correspondent and former football star Tiki Barber had quietly split from his wife Ginny after 11 years of marriage. Then, just a few days later, The NY Post went into hyper drive and found out that Ginny was eight months pregnant with twins, and that Tiki had been carrying on an affair with a 23-year-old NBC intern named Traci. Now the Post has dug up even more about Tiki and his relationship with this girl, including that Tiki “lavished her with roses, jewelry and designer clothes.” They also have some gossipy sources telling all about Ginny’s feelings about this whole ordeal:

Tiki Barber has fumbled again.

The ex-Giants star came clean to his unsuspecting wife late last year, admitting he was starting to shack up with a much younger blonde, sources said yesterday.

But Ginny Barber was “devastated” to learn Tiki began his torrid affair with temptress Traci Lynn Johnson much earlier in their marriage — and long before she became pregnant with twins.

“She had no idea what was going on. She had no idea about this relationship with Traci Johnson until he left in late November,” one source close to the Barber family said. “There were no [apparent] problems in the marriage.

“Ginny is devastated by this. All of this came out of the blue for Ginny. People may say, ‘How could she not know?’ But she really didn’t. Tiki is a guy who travels a lot.”

The Post yesterday revealed that Tiki began bedding Johnson as early as 2008, when she was a 21-year-old student at Mount St. Mary College, a Catholic school in upstate Newburgh.

Sources said the dapper running back lavished her with roses, jewelry and designer clothes — and that Johnson was not shy about publicly reveling in her illicit relationship with the married man.

Last Sept. 5 — at around the same time Ginny became pregnant with twins by Barber — Johnson posted a photo of Barber’s blue Maserati on Facebook, and called it her “Boyfriend’s whip” — slang for car.

Barber bought that exotic car in 2003, according to a Web posting by Maserati, which noted at the time, “Tiki is considered a model athlete, not only for his athletics, but for his clean living lifestyle.”

Sources told The Post yesterday that Tiki’s lucrative contract with NBC’s “Today” show — whose 10 a.m. hosts Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford talked about the scandal yesterday — could soon end.

An NBC source said, “Barber signed with NBC for a lot of money, up to $2 million, which is a great deal more money than their other correspondents earn.

“But he proved to be a disappointment on screen, and he has recently been used less and less. His contract is up for renewal soon, and this is a good excuse to get rid of him.”

A “Today” rep refused to comment, but a source said, “Tiki Barber is currently a ‘Today’ show contributor.”

Barber’s agent, Mark Lepselter said, “Tiki has a contract with NBC, and I’ve heard nothing to the contrary.”

Lepselter also said that Barber — who in the past has fumed about how his dad abandoned him and his twin brother Ronde as kids– “hasn’t abandoned his family.”

“This guy is a very active father,” Lepselter said, noting that Barber spent his 35th birthday Wednesday playing sports with his and Ginny’s two sons, A.J., 7, and Chason, 6.

[From The New York Post]

Ugh. This has gotten really gross. I’m so disappointed in Tiki. He really did seem like a nice guy, and unlike someone like Tiger Woods, it didn’t seem like an act, you know? Although I’m sure I bought into Tiger’s act too. As far as the rumors that NBC will can him, I hope they do. It’s not like he ever had a huge following on the Today show, and now he never will. Good riddance, douchebag.

    never did like that guy…

  2. Lem says:

    I give up!

that will be one heck of a suit bonfire. That man can wear the snot out of a suit!

  3. Ursaline says:

I guess at least there’s only one woman so far and she’s not a stripper. Their kids are even too young to read the internet.

  4. Sigh. says:

She’s posted pics of her in his ex-jersey number, and with his car while he was still married. And probably told anybody with ears what they were up to.

If he doesn’t see that this little girl is taking him for a ride, then I hope to have front-row seats when she TOTALLY screws him over for an ACTIVE NFL player, or someone else with a lucrative/active contract.

    Pathetic.

  5. mel says:

What a scum-bag!!! If you want to be single and screw around, why get married.

  6. lucy2 says:

Ugggghh! What the heck is wrong with these people???
So many of these stories involve kids being born with the wife while an affair is going on.
It’s bad enough to cheat on a spouse, but when kids are involved, it’s just even worse.

Sounds like this girl he was fooling around with has no shame either.

  7. Jeri says:

At 7 his son could (or his son’s friends) read the internet.

  8. Wow says:

Pres. Obama and Roger Federer are the only ones remaining who I would be shocked to learn is a cheater. Everyone else remains “suspect”.

    Marriage is over rated.

  9. Cheyenne says:

@mel: They think they have a right to have it both ways. They want the security of a family and they want the fun on the side. Hey, as long as the wife doesn’t find out, it’s all good, isn’t it? Except sooner or later, she always finds out. Then the shitbag is reduced to feeling sorry for himself. Life is so unfair…

  10. JustMe says:

Please let his wife get him for everything, and also, I will laugh when the blond dumps him after the wife does get everything.

  11. Sigh. says:

His kids don’t need access to the internet – just ONE classmate’s parent needs to make ONE “innocent” comment to/in front of their child about this. It’ll get back to them. No details, but they’re old enough to know that something is up.

These people make the mistake in underestimating their own children’s ability to see and comprehend when someone has done wrong and overestimating their ability to quickly forgive and heal from divorce.

  12. MSat says:

If there is a bright side to all of these stories, I hope it’s this: you WILL get caught, sooner or later, no matter how “careful” you are, no matter what a good liar you think you are. If you don’t want to get caught, don’t do it. It’s as simple as that.

  13. Iggles says:

Why do these guys wait until their wife is pregnant for everything to boil over??? If you have a long term side piece, DON’T get you’re wife pregnant! Cut ties and get a freaking divorce!!

First there’s a story of Garcelle Beauvais’s dirtbag husband (his long term affair began BEFORE she got had their twin boys). Now this douche cheating on his wife and leaving her pregnant!!

These men are pieces of crap!

  14. Jo 'Mama' Besser says:

Okay, I’m not married, nor have I ever been in a long-term relationship. I’m a bookish type who spends time with family and a few friends, and I LOVE having a lot of ‘alone time’, so I would never presume to give people marriage advice or pretend to know about the difficulties of sustaining that kind of partnership through tough times and placid. Still, why are all of these little boys in big suits filling up the headlines? Where are all the MEN hiding? I KNOW you exist. Where are all of the women who refuse to be accessories to the crime, who have enough regard for themselves and the spouses of their flings to nor get involved in this chicanery. Obviously, no one’s perfect, but Mount St. Helen’s, do people even try anymore?

Gay, straight, bi, body pillow fetishists–whatever–people who have the muscle to be adults and fight for love, I want to hear THOSE stories. I want to hear about people loving each other, treating each other well and having respect for each other.

Bah, whatever. I’m going to go eat some candy.

  15. RobN says:

He’s been a douche since he badmouthed his former teammates the moment he retired and got the network gig. It wasn’t cool then and showed a remarkable lack of loyalty to a team that stuck with him for a lot of years. Doesn’t surprise me that he’s disloyal; he always has been.

  16. the other mel says:

He reminds me of that ‘dog with dentures’ commercial.

  17. Rosanna says:

Oh yes I was forgetting how we all are sooo much better persons for judging him – and his private life – without actually knowing him! **rolling eyes**
Reading gossips is fine… but judging people after knowing gossips ONLY is a little bit too much in my book.

  18. moi says:

    @ Jo ‘Mama’ Besser

I couldn’t have said it better myself. Where have respect, love, and truth gone??????

  19. Red Folder says:

Wow. It just gets worse and worse…

  20. Marjalane says:

I guess we need to start referring to this type of thing as “Athletic entitlement sex”. No clue as to what that freak Jesse James’ felt he was entitled to.

  21. viz says:

    his eyebrows bother me

“Pres. Obama and Roger Federer are the only ones remaining who I would be shocked to learn is a cheater. Everyone else remains “suspect”.”

    Stephen Hawking?

  23. Gecko says:

Stephen Hawking? That ship sailed back in the nineties – he dumped his first wife for his at-home nurse.

  24. Zelda says:

    Ahahahhahahha!

Actually, I should’ve expected as much from a professional academic…

    Hm,….Okay:

    Jim Bob Duggar?

  25. eternalcanadian says:

Ah, here we go again. More married men dickering around, and this time with the wife 8 months pregnant with twins to boot.

I know we’re all pointing the finger at the men for their utter lack of self-control and respect for marriage and their wife, but what about the other half of the dirty business, the skank(s) on the side? Now that’s who I have no respect for.

If us women, including skank wanna-bes, don’t put men in their places when they come calling how will they ever learn? So I say shame on that skank Traci Lynn and karma will turn around and bite her in the arse and not in a nice way.

  26. snappyfish says:

This story makes me sick. The Barber’s (Ronde & Tiki) were such good guys while at UVA. I just don’t understand why men (athletes predominately) don’t get that the young chippys are out for the cash. This chick posted a picture of his car on her facebook page entitled “my boyfriend’s whip” Please!!! Yeah, most young girls in college are interested in older married men with children…..wait if you throw a great deal of cash and a sports career into the mix and all of a sudden you are the greatest man to walk the face of the earth? Really, that delusional?

You had a beautiful, smart intelligent wife who loved you for YOU, you moron. See how long this bimbo stays with you if your contract with NBC isn’t renewed, or an active NBA/NFL/NHL/MLB player wanders by.

And to think I gave the book he co-wrote with his twin brother to a family friends child a few years back. I hope nothing but the best for the wife and children.
