My first thought when I saw this photo that Jessica Simpson twit-pic’d is that Jessica’s gay boyfriend Ken Paves was tired of her bullsh-t and passive-aggressively chopped off her hair. My second thought was that Jessica is wearing a Florence Henderson wig from the 1970s. Shockingly, Jessica came up with the same idea, posting the pic with the joke, “Carol Brady who:)?” See, in the above photo, I think she’s just aged herself by 30 years – that hair is frighteningly similar to my mom’s hair. But Jessica also tweeted this photo:
From the side, this style rocks. It reminds me of the hair cut Sienna Miller got when she was preparing to play Edie Sedgwick. If Jessica really did chop off her hair, I hope she styles it this way (like, a sweet, short shag), and not in the “I’m a 44 year old grandmother from West Texas” way in the header photo. But I really do think it’s a wig. I really don’t think Ken Paves is that passive-aggressive with Jess, do you?

Hmm. From the side it’s definitely cute, but I agree with you on the first picture. It reminds me of a profile picture when my friends’ moms join Facebook.
If she actually went that short without gradually transitioning though, good for her. I don’t know that I would have the cajones to give my mane the Felicity treatment.

They look like 2 different wigs to me. The first one is just butt ugly and makes her look ugly too. The second one is a bit more modern but I don’t believe she’d ever have the cajones to cut all her hair off. She’s a Southern girl & the big hair is part of her identity.

Looks real to me. She had a lot of hair and hiding it under a short wig would make her head look unnaturally large and bumpy. So yeah…looks like she did chop her hair off.
I say it looks great…the 2nd pic is better, of course. She has had that poofy blond bombshell hair for too long…this is a nice change.

Actually this is what happens when you finally realize that extensions/weaves are the devils work. hahaha! You have to chopped off the fake hair along with your own hair to start over.
Jessica hasn’t had her own natural long hair in probably 5-6 years. She had kept extensions for years since Paves enter her life and slowly cut off her own beautiful long hair.
If Jessica had any kind of sense she would fire Paves and just let her hair get back to a natural state. Buy a WIG/Fall if she feels the need for long hair till hers can grow back.
Now if someone would get Britney to cut off that unfortunate weave of hers…

Its super cute, even the ‘mom’ one! And I want a wig! Sooooo badly! There’s a wig shop a few blocks down from my work and i poped in there for a break and the wigs are soooo pretty! Im dying for one! But they’re made of polyester and start a t a hundred. the cheapest. I want a human hair one!

@ hatsumomo – either way, wigs itch like crazy…that’s why I just deal with my monstrously naturally long hair. And let me tell you, there are seriously times when I wish it was short, but I just can’t cut off any more than 6 inches. I like the variety it offers: part it in the middle, on either side, French twist, French braid, regular braid, low bun, high bun, pony tail, etc… But as a co-worker pointed out, it is heavy!

@bellaluna – you’d probably feel like you were floating on air for a few days if you cut it. All that weight gone… But I agree, long hair is so versatile.
I used to work near a wig shop. I’d try them on like Jennifer Love Hewitt tries on engagement rings.
