Jolie-Pitt kids get ice cream, more time with their grandparents

infphoto_1249694

Grandma and Grandpa Pitt are pulling a lot of babysitting shifts since coming to Venice. Which is probably really nice for them – they seem to enjoy being around all of the kids, maybe Grandma more than Grandpa? Grandpa has been looking like the food in Venice isn’t agreeing with him. Perhaps he’s lactose intolerant? Because the Jolie-Pitt kids are in love with Italian ice cream, or gelato, or whatever they’re getting. Two days in a row, the Jolie-Pitt kids got to go for ice cream with their grandparents, so of course we have more awesome and hilarious photos.

This is one of my favorites – Pax always seems like the quiet one, but you get to see him and Shiloh spending some time together. She seems to adore him as much as Maddox.

Speaking of Shiloh and Maddox, here are the two of them bonding:

infphoto_1247895

Pax: “F-CK! Brain freeze.”

infphoto_1249716

Zahara is all “My world domination will include ice cream. Take note.”

I love how Shiloh seems so self-possessed. And she’s really, really, really starting to look like her dad. In some lighting, she’s just a mini-Brad.

I think it must’ve just been the odd outfit yesterday, but Shiloh looks SO much cuter in that little brown hoodie. Also, is it just me, or is she super tall for being only 3 1/2? She’ll probably end up being crazy gorgeous when she’s all grown up.

Her and Pax are totally sweet together.

  2. Chelly says:

The cutest kids ever. Love love love love l-o-v-e Shiloh but HATE that damn haircut!!! Why why why do that to such an adorable ltl girl?!?!?

  3. Chewy says:

Shiloh is sooo tall!! Look at the pic where she’s next to Maddox, they’re five years apart and she seems to come up to his shoulder! And she looks as tall as Queen Zahara!

  4. Feebee says:

God, what lives they lead, aye? Trolling round Venice eating ice cream with Grandma and that’s just this month.

Shiloh looks so cute with short hair. So much easier to have short hair on little people. Don’t get all the twisted knickers over her short hair.

  5. amanda says:

In my opinion, these kids look like kids SHOULD look. Sometimes a little rough around the edges, always having fun, sometimes even mismatched outfits, or clothes that aren’t matched outfits at all. You don’t get the “celebrity kids” vibe from them. The only questionable thing here is Shiloh’s white pants– what 3 year old child wears snow white pants? (Most of their clothese are probably still super expensive kids-clothes designer stuff, but I guess you can’t tell all that much).

  6. jen says:

    those kids are really cute..
still i think shiloh is all voight

  7. teri says:

    Adorable and happy kids.

  8. meme says:

i don’t get celebrity kid vibe from any young celeb kids except for suri.

  9. LindyLou says:

Shiloh always seems to idolize her older brothers. Perhaps that is why she dresses the way she does and the short haircut???

  10. Zoe says:

Not sure where all the venom for Shiloh’s hair and boyish style comes from. In 2010, I would expect people would have more open views for what today’s modern girl/woman can look like. I have short hair, am tomboyish, don’t wear makeup, and still managed to go to college, be successful, have a gorgeous educated boyfriend, and be completely happy. People need to stop boxing others in and let people be free to develop their own styles and life.

  11. Melinda says:

So cute. All of them. I just love Shiloh in that little outfit!

  12. Roma says:

I’m 3 years younger than my brother and was taller than him from about the age of 5 on (until he hit 17 and finally grew)… to the point where people assumed I was the older one. Shiloh is rocking some tall genes, that’s for sure.

  13. buckley says:

I kinda want grandma’s red trenchcoat. Is that wrong?

Shiloh is totally looking just like Brad. Adorable.

  14. Chelly says:

    @ #10:

That’s all good and well for U…ur an adult. This is a ltl girl. ppl get offended when u call they’re son a girl or daughter a boy but when they’re dressed to resemble 1 whos fault is it really???? If not earrings for a ltl girl at the very least longer hair or even pink.

Thats just the way it shld be, at least till they’re older.

  15. canadianchick says:

Cute kids-she looks like a good Grandma. The older ones must have a tutor-as these longs trips would otherwise wreak havoc on their educations. Shiloh is cute with her Eleanor Roosevelt hair.

  16. Rose says:

Really ChellY? The way it ‘should’ be is for Shiloh’s parents to decide how their daughter’s hair is cut.

  17. Red Folder says:

I love Zahara’s oversized purse! She is so cute.

I loved shiloh’s pants, jacket and striped shirt! So spring “sailor” looking! And I think she’s just a tomboy and look adorable with her short hair.

The boys are so cute too — getting so big. !

  18. Chelly says:

Yeah, they’re parents. I rmbr how MY parents did my hair and burned all the pix of all those horrible haircuts. poor girl (if she so does hate it) will have always have them floating all over the place.

And yes…its the way it SHOULD be

  19. Kolby says:

I kind of want Shiloh’s haircut for myself. They are all adorable and normal and, my goodness, do you remember how much fun it used to be just to be able to run and race down the stairs and take advantage of your grandparents’ spoiling? These photos make me miss childhood something fierce.

  20. Kolby says:

    Chelly –

Don’t you think little boys and little girls should be allowed to express themselves as long as it works within the family framework (meaning they’re not hurting anyone else or breaking any of their parents’ rules)?

  21. anon says:

Why are the faces of kids are not blurry?
I though that Brangelina likes Europe because of paparazzi/child laws…

  22. Rose says:

    @ Chelly

“Yeah, they’re parents. I rmbr how MY parents did my hair and burned all the pix of all those horrible haircuts. poor girl (if she so does hate it) will have always have them floating all over the place.”

I’ve loads of photos of me with short hair as a kid, they’re funny not traumatic. You ‘should’ try not to project your insecurities onto anyone else.

  23. jeannified says:

Love all of the pictures of the kids with the grands! They look so normal and mid-western nice! So sweet that grandma Pitt is helping Shiloh with her ice cream!

  24. jeannified says:

P.S. I’m guessing that the grands might be staying longer than perhaps planned, now that so many flights have been indefinitely delayed due to the Icelandic volcano!

  25. GreenGinger says:

Chelly, it sounds like you are projecting your issues with how your parents groomed you as a child on to Shiloh. None of Shiloh’s pix suggest to me that she needs your “poor girl” commiseration.

My daughter will wear nothing but pink and purple, and would be very upset if I cut her hair. But that look isn’t for everyone. Shiloh looks happy, healthy and cute. I don’t think you need to worry about her.

  26. BoogeyBoogey says:

Shiloh has amazing posture for a child of her age. However much I may loathe her mother and her bizarro choices, that child exudes confidence and poise.

  27. Feebee says:

@ Chelly, you can’t be serious. My daughter had Shiloh’s short do until about age 6 when we grew it out a little. It’s still only shoulder length. No-one ever mistook her for a boy and she wasn’t really into pink either. Are you telling me I’m a bad mother for having my daughter have short hair. I find you insulting.

  28. Kim says:

I was thinking about getting the Shiloh pixie cut but I think my face is too round to pull it off.Digging Grandma’s coat too

  29. jane says:

Yet another set of pix of the grandparents and their still not smiling. If I got to run around Venice with my adorable grandchildren, and my son was extremely successful and had a beautiful family, I’d be happy as lark. Whats wrong with these people?

  30. Chelly says:

    Wow…

Was just simply saying that parents get offended when ppl confuse their kids gender, and this is exactly why.

I was using my childhood as an example, not projecting any feelings from the past. I wore dresses and earrings to at least make it known I was a girl but, whatever. Just dont get upset at me or others when we mistake ur daughter for ur son.

    P.S.
I NEVER said or even implied anyone is a “bad parent” bc they choose to cut their kids hair that short. Chill out.

  31. Maritza says:

Actually Shiloh looks very cute with that haircut, it’s the clothes I don’t like. She always wears rolled up pants, why can’t they buy her pants that are her own size? It looks like she just wears her brothers clothes.

  32. Kim says:

Plenty pics of the kids smiling on other sites like popsugar, Jane if you are interested. Also celebritybaby scoop and yuku jjb. Have a nice day

  33. Lilias says:

While I certainly do not take any issue with the kid having short hair and dressing as she does, had I not known she was a girl I’d assume she was a boy and if I ever dealt with her in my day job I’d use masculine pronouns as I’m sure every single one of you enlightened people here would as well.

jane and others: Grandma and Grandpa Pitt look exactly like any other grandparents taking their grandkids out: a little stressed, harried and worried about losing one.

  34. justathought says:

    Cute children!
Happy go lucky little joyful kids.
    A tribute to good parenting.
I do wish the paps would back off and leave the children in peace.

  35. gg says:

Cripes, she’s 3 – having a pixie haircut when you’re 3 is de rigeur, and a thousand times easier to deal with if you have so many kids.

Long hair on little kids makes a hell of a lot less sense to me. I know a few mommies who force their daughters to keep long hair for their own vanity, which is unfortunate for the kid.

  36. e-non says:

that hello kitty bag just kills me.

  37. anon says:

    Lilias:
jane and others: Grandma and Grandpa Pitt look exactly like any other grandparents taking their grandkids out: a little stressed, harried and worried about losing one.
So true, my grandchildren are 7-12 now and lovely but going out with the three of them when they were younger was a bit stressful and while I enjoyed it I always had to lay down after they went home 🙂

  38. Maravilha says:

All the kids look very “normal” and I think Shiloh seems to be one of those sweet, easy-going kids. I don’t know why, but I don’t get the same vibe about Suri; she seems somehow “difficult” and quite spoilt to me.

  39. lin234 says:

Shiloh has her entire life to be pretty. With those genes, it’ll be hard to escape that fate. (Lucky!) Right now, she’s just being a kid who doesn’t worry about hair and clothes. She always looks so comfortable. The kids look like their having so much fun. mmmm gelato…

Btw Brad’s parents look young considering he’s 46. I wonder if they started their family young or something. Brad’s lucky he got the hair genes from both his parents! He’ll never be bald from the looks of it.

  40. PJ says:

So Grandma’s plumping up the kids with ice cream, good for her! They are all quite thin. The grandparents might look distressed because the papparazzi is taking pictures of them.

Shiloh does dress like a boy. Little girls don’t usually wear tailored blazers, or brown sweatshirts with orange cars on them. Maybe they’re hand-me-downs from her brothers. Where are the pink-and-purple outfits with ruffles and hearts?

Speaking of height, these kids are siblings but don’t forget they have different biological parents. Shiloh might look tall for her age because she’s standing next to Pax, who is Asian, and Zahara, whose bone structure is much smaller.

  41. The Bobster says:

Prety girl, but what is she doing with the third worlders? UN day at the Pitt household?

  42. jane says:

Kim, I didn’t say the kids weren’t smiling. I said the grandparents weren’t. I’ve seen lots of pix of the kids smiling & laughing, but none with the grandfolks.

Lilias & anon, they are accompanied by nannies & bodyguards. They’re in Venice. There son is world famous & successful & they’re with grandkids. Why be stressed? I’ve been responsible for much larger groups of young kids on many field trips & I’m always smiling. Maybe they hate paps or something. My mom doesn’t look like that when she’s with her grandkids & my grandma didn’t look like that with us when we were little, always laughing & happy.

  43. DD says:

    jane:
It would be awfully painful to smile every moment of the day, so that a celebrity pap would never snap a photo where you were not smiling suggesting you may be unhappy. God I know when I used to work in customer service, my cheeks used to hurt so much after a long day of smiling.

  44. anon says:

I don’t smile all the time. I am happy (happy everyday) with grandchildren or without I just don’t walk around with a huge grin on my face. Some people are just more serious OK. Glad your mom and grandma are laughing and smiling all time good for them I say 🙂

  45. Blaster says:

Maybe there should be special section of the site called “Brange Children” where there can be stories of them doing amazing things like “walking,” “eating ice cream,” “being carried on the balcony,” and “picking their noses” cause this daily picture show is getting old.

Almost as bad as Lainey with Twilight.

  46. lunachick says:

Looks like those kids are having a most fabulous childhood. The have the stability and essential bonding with parents who clearly love them, most of all – and also grandparents who love and are involved with them, and all sorts of stimulation from different environments, contact with different cultures…I’m sure the jetlag and paps are a bitch but looks to me like Brad & Angelina & the Grands are doing a fabulous job raising some fabulous kids.

  47. M says:

Maybe Maddox is just short for his age cause he’s asian. We asians are short ya know 😛

  48. mags says:

ok i have to say something on the “shiloh tomboy thing” i had short hair as a kid b/c i would scream bloody murder if my mom tried to brush it, so in the interest of her sanity i got a cute little cut very similar to shiloh’s actually . i have a feeling that with that many kids angie is not the “french braids with little ribbons” type. (my mom wasn’t either) no harm no foul, ya know?

  49. Scout says:

    @M – that’s such a cute response! 🙂

Re: Brad’s parents not smiling – I think it is reading way too much into a snapshot to deduce that this means they are not happy! I am a grandparent of twin girls and I babysit them all the time and love them like crazy, but I do take it very seriously when my daughter trusts them to my care and that shows on my face when we are out and I am watching out for their safety. Also, all those child-rearing tasks that seemed like second nature when raising my own kids, are much harder when you are older! Still fun, though!

I agree about these kids looking like totally well-adjusted, happy and grounded kids. Some feat considering who their parents are and they lives they lead!

  50. anon says:

Thanks scout you articulated exactly what I meant to say 🙂

  51. Mary says:

I do really wonder about the comments here.

The haircut is ugly for a girl, her clothes are ugly too and all the children were clothes which are unmodern and not pretty at all.

These children do looks exactly like children parents have no time for, they look unhappy. You do see that in the pictures.

Bad Pitt looks unhappy too all the time.

  52. mischa says:

Zahara will be stunning when she grows up. Her features remind me of my friend’s, who’s from Ethiopia. She’s very beautiful…and Zahara has a resemblance to her.

Shiloh is cute…but she is an average-looking child at best. But then many people say that children who are not as pretty when they were young grow up to be beautiful adults. So who knows…to each her own, but I don’t see her as the cutest child.

  53. Floppy Flopper says:

I’d be unhappy as well if I had 300 adults surrounding me at all time shoving their cameras in my face, neither would the grand parents seeing as that they’re probably more concerned about the paps being too aggressive.
