We know have some interview excerpts from Scarlett Johansson’s InStyle Mag May cover profile. We saw the cover yesterday – when I was lamenting ScarJo’s consistently corpsey styling. Although InStyle thankfully didn’t really make ScarJo look deathly in their cover shot and additional pic, I still don’t really care for it. The hair is very Little Orphan Annie. Anyway…
InStyle’s excerpts reveal that ScarJo… likes to eat. And she likes to cook. And she doesn’t consider herself a nightclub person. Oh really? ScarJo says: “You’re not going to find me at 4 a.m. hitting up the club, bottle full of bub…Maybe on a rare occasion. But I’ve just never been much of a clubby, nightlife kind of person. I’m not a social butterfly. I’ve never been part of a scandal that was really juicy.” I remember when there were stories about ScarJo having raunchy sexy with Benicio del Toro the elevator of the Chateau Marmont. I remember hearing stories about ScarJo playing Justin Timberlake like a violin. Nothing juicy? Does she have memory loss?
She’s long been considered one of Hollywood’s bombshells, but at home, Scarlett Johansson relishes being a domestic goddess.
“He loves to eat,” the May cover girl tells InStyle of playing wife and cooking for husband Ryan Reynolds.
“I like cooking alone – I find it very therapeutic,” she says. “I put on some music, maybe have a glass of wine, and make something like a turkey Bolognese or a nice frittata.”
Though the 25-year-old continues to remain tight-lipped when discussing Reynolds, Johansson does open up about the changes in her life after 18 months of marriage.
“I mean, you’re married and suddenly you have your own family,” she says. “There’s a nice comfort in that. That part of your life is certain, in a way. You’ve got your home in that other person.”
Johansson’s Iron Man 2 costar, Robert Downey Jr., couldn’t agree more.
“I’m crazy about Ryan. I think they’re a great couple, a really natural fit for each other,” he says. “They’ve really come into themselves since they’ve been fully together.”

I get that some people just love Ryan and ScarJo together and really believe in them. I’m not one of those people. It’s not even that I have strong feelings about either of them one way or another – to me, they have always seemed like the oddest damn couple. Like, great sex, probably, but not enough to build a solid marriage. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe they are totally happy and making it work and they’ll stand the test of time. I’ve been wrong before.

Ryan and ScarJo are about as exciting as a glass of milk. But good for them for keeping their private life private I guess.

I remember an elevator rumor about her an Benecio Del Torro. She was slow to deny this rumor because he was hot at the time.

I still can’t beleive that they are a couple and married for 18 months.Maybe it’s because we never see them together,who knows?It just seems so fake to me.

Kaiser, I think you’re wrong on that one. I bet Ryan Reynolds is a dud in the sack. He seems waaay too uptight. He probably has a schedule, and it’s always in bed, missionary.

I just can’t believe anyone could look at Ryan Reynolds’* shovel-chinned, Man’s Health, permatanned, desperate-to-be-Hollywood face and be moved to affection or amorous passion. Gack. I wish she was still with Benicio instead!
p.s. I couldn’t remember what his last name was. Had to reread the article. Other than who he managed to marry, he’s a skeezy snooze.

I think of Ryan Reynolds as asexual. I don’t find him attractive at all. He is kinda funny but the douche stories are a total turn-off. He has a nice body but it’s a no go for me.
I agree with the others. They seem like a strange couple. Maybe it is a business arrangement.
My husband thinks ScarJo is so hot. I am getting that same asexual vibe from her too.

I think she does a good job of ignoring the bad comments/tabloids. Whether the rumors are true or not at least she isn’t announcing to the world that she will not acknowledge the rumors. Actually not acknowledging them works better then making a comment.

Does celebrity time move faster than our regular time? Last I remembered she and Ryan were engaged… now they’re married 18 months? WTF?
And yes… they’re a super boring couple and don’t seem to make sense from the outside. But I hope they’re happy together, as they seem to be. And I also hope she’s not totally jinxing herself here..

Wasn’t there a controversy regarding Comic Con not too long ago? He was acting like a controlling douche and refused to go because he was made at her. He was supposed to promote Wolverine. She was going because she had just been cast in Iron Man 2.
Lainey has a million stories of Ryan’s douchey behavior. He’s not a nice guy.

I think what she meant to say is that she’s never been in a scandal of HUGE proportions, like Brangelina or the Gosselins or what’s going on w/ Sandra Bullock and Jesse James. I don’t remember anything about her and JT or Benicio del Toro being front page fodder

It’s weird that I take such issue with their age difference. I don’t normally care one way or the other about that sort of thing. Maybe it’s because she seems so child-like to me? And like she was single and ready to mingle one minute and totally engaged to RR the next? Maybe because she got married so young (by Hollywood standards)? I really don’t know.

Yeah, I don’t see the elevator story as scandalous. Risque, maybe. Fun, definitely. But scandalous? Maybe, if it opened up to the lobby with them mid coitus and a large group of children, nuns and paps waiting to get in.

Erm, college-age antics can hardly be described as “scandalous”. If they are, I have a veritable cornucopia of scandalous stories!
I love me some ScarJo & am pretty ambivalent about Ryan(other than his abs, of course!), but they seem really damn stable to me. They both stay out of the public eye as much as they can & they haven’t sold anyone their wedding/engagement/”oh I love you so much” photos & speaks volumes to me. Granted there have been a few random candid pap shots, but thats what happens when you go one about living your lives
