Teen Mom Amber Portwood gets daughter Leah back

teenmom_amberyell
Teen Mom star Amber Portwood has been reunited with her two year-old daughter, Leah, after Leah spent several weeks in the care of her father. Leah will return to live with Amber at least part time. Many people hoped that Leah would be under her father Gary Shirley’s care permanently after we heard that Leah was made a temporary ward of the state of Indiana pending Amber’s investigation for two counts of felony domestic violence. Amber was shown choking and slapping Gary in two separate abuse instances on the show. Now Amber, 20, has moved to a new home, and she’s bought a bed for Leah and had the place professional cleaned. It seems to have been enough for Child Protective Services, as they’ve allowed Leah to live with Amber yet again. It’s not known whether this arrangement is permanent or temporary:

After having her two-year-old daughter temporarily taken away from her last week, Teen Mom star Amber Portwood cleaned up her home and on Monday was reunited with her daughter Leah, RadarOnline.com has learned.

“Amber hired someone to clean up her apartment recently and even went out over the weekend to buy a proper baby bed for Leah,” a source close to the situation told RadarOnline.com.

“She was trying to get everything up to par at home so that Child Protective Services would deem it a suitable place for Leah and she’d get her back; and it looks like it worked.”

Sources tell RadarOnline.com the exchange happened at 4:30 p.m. EST and that the baby’s father, Gary Shirley was very upset about the decision.

“He really loves Leah and was so excited to have her when the court placed her in his care,” the source said.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, baby Leah became a ward of the state of Indiana last week after an emergency child placement hearing on Tuesday in which Leah was temporarily placed with Shirley.

An assessment of Leah’s living quarters with Portwood by CPS proved unsuitable, although Portwood was awarded monitored visitations.

It’s unclear if Portwood’s parental rights have been reinstated.

“Originally Amber was supposed to have a monitored visit today with Leah, but when CPS saw the change in her apartment they decided it met Leah’s needs,” the source told RadarOnline.com.

“CPS will continue to monitor Amber a few times a week and check in with her to make sure it’s going well, but as of now, Leah is back in her care.”

The 20-year-old mother of one was charged with domestic violence earlier this month after an aggressive assault on Shirley was caught by MTV cameras while Leah stood at her feet.

Child Protective Services and the Anderson Police Department were unavailable for comment when contacted by RadarOnline.com.

[From Radar Online]

I really feel for that poor little girl. Amber is an angry manipulative person who seemed to spend very little time with Leah on the show. She was either ignoring her or yelling at her on Teen Mom, and the only one who really interacted with Leah was her dad. Now Amber has moved and she actually bought Leah a bed, so that makes her a fit mom? At least CPS has an eye on the situation, but given this latest decision it’s not looking hopeful for Leah.

Chris Brown and Rihanna tell fans to stop talking about 2009 attack

NEW YORK - DECEMBER 12: Singers Rihanna and Chris Brown perform on stage during Z100's Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden on December 12, 2008 in New York City. (Photo by Scott Gries/Getty Images)
Chris Brown and Rihanna both told fans on Twitter over the weekend to stop talking about the February, 2009 incident in which Brown brutally beat Rihanna and fled the scene. It looks like they didn’t directly tweet each other, and they don’t follow each other on Twitter. Chris indirectly responded to Rihanna through their fan groups. They both made tweets about the same subject on Sunday.

greenangeleyez1 wrote:
@rihanna I luv u bt it’s time u stopped talking about the situation with chris in interviews. How r people gonna move on?

rihanna replied:
@greenangeleyez1 AGREED! People won’t stop askin abt it! Its f***in annoying! Nobody wants to relive that, but some ppl can’t respect that!
28 Nov

greenangeleyez1 replied:
@rihanna I hear that sweety…wen u forgive, the world will forgive and u will c people move on…U cn raise awareness in a different way xx
28 Nov

rihanna replied:
@greenangeleyez1 I get it, they wanna raise awareness to young girls! But it ends up just makin me look bitter, pitiful, spiteful and angry!
28 Nov

Then Chris wrote to Rihanna and Chris Brown fan groups “TeamBreezy” and “Rihanna Navy” that they needed to “move on”
chrisbrown said:
Y’all starting to sound extremely childish! #teambreezy and #rihannanavy It’s pointless. Love team breezy & thank you rihannanavy for supporting ya girl. [via OK!]

Rihanna is tweeting about a recent interview with British GQ in which she spoke at length about her relationship with Chris:

“I left – it was the best feeling. It was so freeing. I witnessed it [domestic violence] happening to my mum and I said I would never let that happen to me – and then it was happening.

“Now, when I look back, it bugs me out that I couldn’t see it for what it was. Before that, I was just a little girl from the island, singing pop music. It was easy to think I didn’t have a problem in the world. Then all of a sudden, boom! Everybody realises that I do have problems. It made me strong. It’s a moment in my life I wish would disappear. In my head, it’s gone. I have too much pride, I’d never let anyone see me cry. I don’t want you to remember me for that.”

[British GQ via Ghettofabu]

Here’s the thing. If Rihanna doesn’t want to talk about it, and doesn’t want to be portrayed that way, why doesn’t she just pass on those questions? It’s not like she gave some vague non-committal answer, she gave a longer quotable response and it’s going to get repeated. Maybe if she says “I’m trying to move on and focus on my future” then we’ll get that impression too. I like how thoughtful and introspective she sounds, though. I don’t think she should regret saying that at all. She went through that experience and she should own her response to those questions.

Capri Anderson drops plans for civil lawsuit against Charlie Sheen

capria1
Charlie Sheen’s latest hooker accuser, stage name Capri Anderson, has dropped a planned civil suit against the actor. Her rep tells CNN that she’s decided not to sue Charlie but denies that it has anything to do with Sheen’s extortion lawsuit against Anderson. It may have more to do with the text messages that were recently leaked, in which Sheen and Anderson allegedly try to work out a $20,000 payment from Sheen in exchange for Anderson’s silence about that fateful night.

According to Sheen’s rep, he never offered Anderson a payoff. The leak of these texts seems to prove otherwise. I would bet that Sheen’s camp leaked them despite their denials. Anderson is casual and friendly in the messages. She sounds more concerned about getting cash to replace her designer purse than being scared for her safety as she claimed in recent interviews. She writes: “u trashed my brand new prada purse dude not cool – how u managed to rip the strap off and put 2 holes in it is beyond me.”

What’s more is that Radar, which was the first outlet to get a statement from Sheen after the incident, had a story yesterday that Anderson spoke with Sheen’s ex, Denise Richards, prior to Sheen’s meltdown and told her all about her life as a prostitute. (Some would say that it isn’t an entirely unfamiliar lifestyle for Richards, although I’ll leave it at that.) Richards was of course at the Plaza hotel staying in a nearby hotel room with her two daughters that night. Sheen’s team is in overdrive trying to smear this woman, and that’s not difficult considering that she’s a porn star and a prostitute.

There’s still a criminal case pending against Sheen, however, and Anderson’s rep tells CNN that’s as far as she’s taking her complaint for now. “Ms. Walsh has thus, and for the time being, opted to consult the New York City authorities regarding the events of October 26, 2010… Through the process [of speaking out, Anderson] has experienced the natural emotions of many domestic violence victims, that of fear, anxiety and ultimately, a certain level of empowerment.”

Sheen’s lawsuit against Anderson claims that she stole his $165,000 Patek Philippe watch, and that’s what prompted his meltdown, during which Anderson was never in physical danger:

capria2

“Walsh admitted to several people that she had in fact stolen a very expensive watch from Sheen, and that she had given the watch to a friend to hold,” the suit said.

It was the disappearance of the Patek Philippe watch from Sheen’s hotel room that caused their evening to go bad last month, according to Sheen’s petition.

“Sheen asked Walsh to return the watch, and when Walsh refused and falsely denied that she had taken the watch, Sheen became extremely upset,” the suit said. “Walsh then locked herself in the bathroom of the hotel room and refused to come out.”

The lawsuit says that “At no time did Sheen assault, batter or threaten Walsh.”

She locked herself in the bathroom “because she was afraid that Sheen might find the watch on her,” the suit said.

[From CNN]

So did this woman steal a watch from Sheen, did he nearly choke her and did she genuinely fear for her life? We know that Sheen has physically harmed several former girlfriends and wives, we know that the room was completely trashed, and we know that the cops were called on the scene whether Anderson called them or not. Sheen’s people insist that she called a girlfriend, not the police, and in her interviews she never said that she is the one who called 911. The truth is probably somewhere in between Anderson and Sheen’s version, but I don’t doubt that she was scared for her safety that night. Anderson’s tears seemed real to me, although many of you vehemently disagreed and understandably question her motives.

Capri Anderson gets genuinely upset on Nightline; Charlie Sheen sues

Yesterday when Charlie Sheen’s escort accuser Capri Anderson went public with her claims against him, a lot of you were anticipating that Sheen would quickly move to smear her reputation. After all, Anderson is a porn star and admitted to charging Sheen $3,500 to accompany him to dinner before he allegedly attempted to choke her and threaten her life. She’s also suing him in civil court for damages. Sheen’s rep was quick to point out that Anderson’s line of work undermines her credibility, and now Sheen is suing her for extortion. The lawsuit states that Anderson is making up all her claims, that she wanted a million from Sheen, and calls her “an opportunistic pornographic film star and publicity hungry scam artist“. Anderson maintains that she turned down a $20,000 texted offer from Sheen to keep quiet after the incident.

anderson1

Anderson’s interview with Nightline aired last night, and you can watch it above. She recounted her encounter with Sheen in very specific detail, and started crying when she talked about how he attempted to choke her as some kind of foreplay. She claimed that she got nervous and resisted, at which point he started throwing things around the room and she ran to the bathroom for safety. Watch that interview and tell me that woman is lying or somehow faking her tears. There’s no way she’s that skilled of an actress. She was genuinely scared for her life and recounting that night still upsets her.

As for why she didn’t call the police that night, Anderson said “I was… scared to call the police on somebody who is as wealthy and as powerful and who am I? I’m just a girl. What is my word against his?

Nightline mentioned Charlie’s history of abuse, and the last incident below I hadn’t even heard of:

- Convicted in August of misdemeanor assault against his now estranged wife Brooke Mueller, after allegations he held a knife to her throat last Christmas.
- His second wife, Denise Richards, has described a cycle of abuse
- In 1990, his then-fiance, actress Kelly Preston, was accidentally shot in the arm with Sheen’s handgun
- And back in 1997, Sheen was convicted of battery with serious injuries after assaulting his then-girlfriend, Brittany Ashland.

Lawyer Gloria Allred represented Sheen’s abused girlfriend Brittany Ashland at the time. (Which explains her open letter to Sheen calling him out as an abuser.) She told Nightline that his pattern of abuse is worrying.

Anderson explained that she didn’t press charges that night because she told cops on the scene that she just wanted to go home. Police specifically asked her if she had charged Sheen to be there. She’s said she’s coming forward now and pressing charges at this point because “My name was leaked to the press within 48 hours after the event. Everybody was trying to get a story or some sleazy detail when in fact everybody was looking past the fact that this was all something that was [a] really horrible experience for me.”

Anderson couldn’t explain exactly why she didn’t go to the police that night and said she was uncomfortable with that question. Her lawyer stepped in to say that she was afraid that she was going to be somehow framed or blamed for it. Isn’t that what’s happening now? Think about it, a guy assaults a hooker. The hooker is afraid to press charges because she’s also involved in illegal activity. The police ask her if she’s a prostitute and she just tells them she wants to get out of there.

Anderson has a tough fight ahead of her, and it’s only natural to question her motives. Again, watch that video and tell me that she’s somehow making that story up. I don’t blame her for suing Charlie and speaking to the press. It’s about time that Charlie, the highest paid star on television, faced some consequences for abusing women.

Capri Anderson interview: Charlie Sheen tried to choke her and she feared for her life

capri1

Capri Anderson, the porn star/escort who locked herself in the bathroom while Charlie Sheen went on a drug-fueled rampage at the Plaza Hotel in New York City last month, has granted an interview to ABC that will air on Nightline tonight. She also was interviewed on Good Morning America by George Stephanopoulos this morning, accompanied by her lawyer. ABC has some advance details and they’re in no way favorable to Charlie. Anderson comes across as genuinely upset in the clips I’ve seen of her interview. She says that Sheen choked her, that she locked herself in the bathroom for her own safety, and that she feared for her life. Anderson admits that she was hired to escort Sheen to dinner (which contradicts earlier reports on TMZ that she wasn’t a hooker) and breaks down crying at one point. It seems convincing and will hopefully go far to derail the career of an abuser who has consistently escaped facing consequences for his actions. Here’s part of ABC’s report with advance details. We’ll cover her GMA interview in a moment.

capri2

In the ABC News exclusive interviews, Anderson will explain how she was hired to escort Sheen to dinner that night and how the night progressed to a violent end behind the Plaza’s closed doors.

“He was, from the beginning of the night, very loud and he had no hesitations when it came to using derogatory language or cuss words,” she says in the “Nightline” interview, adding that “towards the latter half of the night, it got really bad. He started yelling racial slurs.

“But it wasn’t until he put his hands around my neck that I really thought to myself, you have gotten yourself in a bad, bad situation.”

Anderson goes on to say that she was locked in the bathroom, fearing for her life, describing her reactions to press reports about Sheen’s children staying on the same hotel floor.

“I’m not going to stand down and be completely walked over, mistreated. My whole life has been changed.” she said.

“I think that this story and this treatment sends a message in itself and this is clearly something that’s not right. It’s not right to hurt people. It’s not right to scare people. It’s not right to carry on with such disregard for the people around you.”

Charlie Sheen’s lawyer Yale Galanter released a statement in response to Anderson’s allegations.

“Ms. Capri never made any allegation of wrongful conduct on the part of Mr. Sheen the night of the incident. She has posted on her website that she was ‘fine’ after the incident but if you wanted to see more of her enter the web site for money,” Galanter said. “We will defend this lawsuit vigorously and will never pay her a dime. These allegations against Mr. Sheen are completely false, and are an blatant attempt to cash in on his celebrity.”

Tune in Monday morning to Good Morning America” (7:00-9:00 a.m., ET) or Monday night to “Nightline” (11:35pm ET/ PT) to hear Anderson’s full account.

[From ABC News]

This sounds exactly like the earlier incident where Charlie choked and threatened to kill his estranged wife. I love how Anderson confirms the story that Charlie was spewing racial slurs for no reason whatsoever. He also has a prior instance of using the “N” word in a very confusing context in a voicemail that he left for Denise Richards in 2005.

Charlie issued an earlier response to the media coverage of this incident, and said “If a guy has one bad night, everybody goes insane & panics.” He also told RadarThe story is totally overblown and overplayed as far as the reality of the scenario.” Now that we know that the reality is as bad if not worse than the media made it out to be, what is he going to do? He’s going to smear Anderson’s reputation, just like he did with his ex, Brooke Mueller. You can bet on it.

ABC has aired Capri’s interview, (you can watch part of it on Radar Online) and she describes how the night unfolded and how Charlie did lines of something before taking off her dress. She said that Charlie “put his hands around her neck” and as soon as she started to resist he went after her and trashed the room. He picked something up that she describes as an “envelope opener” or a “knife” and at that point she fled to the bathroom with her cellphone. Charlie was supposed to pay her $3,500 just for dinner, not sex, and he never paid her according to Capri. She plans to file a criminal complaint against him today and will sue him in civil court. Anderson alleges that Charlie offered her $20,000 to keep quiet after the incident, which she refused.

Chris Brown praised by judge for progress in domestic violence case

LOS ANGELES, CA - NOVEMBER 18: R&B singer Chris Brown (L) appears in court with his attorney Mark Geragos for a probation progress report on November 18, 2010 in Los Angeles, California. Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting his pop star girlfriend Rihanna after a pre-Grammy Awards party in 2009. He was given a sentence of five years probation and ordered to complete 180 days of community labor and a year of domestic violence counseling. (Photo by David McNew/Getty Images)
For all you can say about Chris Brown, he’s no Lindsay Lohan when it comes to meeting his probation requirements. Chris, 21, is serving five years probation along with six months community service for his attack on Rihanna in February of last year. He’s had severalpoor memoments since along with seeming less than sincere, by some estimates, during his media apology tour last year. Brown’s immaturity does not seem to translate to shirking his probationary requirements however. In a recent hearing for his case, the judge called him the best probationer she’s ever seen – out of thousands:

LOS ANGELES, CA - NOVEMBER 18: R&B singer Chris Brown (L) appears in court with his attorney Mark Geragos for a probation progress report on November 18, 2010 in Los Angeles, California. He was given a sentence of five years probation and ordered to complete 180 days of community labor and a year of domestic violence counseling. (Photo by David McNew/Getty Images)

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg announced during Thursday’s hearing that the R&B singer is close to completing his required domestic violence counseling and has completed almost 73 of 180 days of community service.

“Out of thousands of probationers, no one has done a better or more consistent job than you have, and I really want to commend you for taking responsibility and for actually working diligently to complete all the things the court has required of you,” Judge Schnegg told Brown.

As part of his probation, Brown is required to do physical labor such as graffiti removal and roadside cleanup duties. Judge Schnegg is allowing the singer to complete the community service in his home state of Virginia though he is required to return to Los Angeles to check in regularly for progress reports.

“Obviously he’s gratified and he’s working hard to live up to everyone’s expectations,” said Brown’s attorney, Mark Geragos, said after the hearing.

[From Popeater]

That’s really impressive and maybe he’s learned something in counseling. The kid is only 21, and while he committed a despicable attack that many would say is unforgivable, he’s trying to do his best to make amends. It’s kind of refreshing to hear that there’s a celebrity who actually meets a judge’s requirements. TMZ has the video of Brown’s court appearance, and he’s dressed appropriately and acts respectfully. It seems over the top to say that he’s the best probationer this judge has ever seen, though. Does that sound a little fishy to anyone else?

Let’s compare Chris’ actions post-attack to how Charlie Sheen behaved after choking and holding a knife to his estranged wife Brooke Mueller’s throat last year. (Which is something that many of you brought up in an article on one of Chris’ comeback performances in June.) There was more evidence that Chris brutally beat Rihanna, and the attack was much worse given what we know, so I am in no way comparing the magnitude of those two incidents. Let’s just consider how these two responded, though. Charlie used every legal means necessary to avoid responsibility along with smearing Brooke in the press. He even had another incident in which he may or may not have threatened and abused another woman. Chris tried to take responsibility in his way and even sort-of admitted it in interviews. (He didn’t seem entirely reticent or guilty, never admitted directly what he did and was very self centered in his responses, but he tried.) I’m just playing devil’s advocate here, and I’m still skeptical of Chris. It’s hard to forgive someone after they could have killed the person they professed to love. He’s very young though and it’s obvious that he’s taking his probation seriously.

Teen Mom’s Amber charged with 2 felonies, misdemeanor (update)

amberheader
Hollywood Life has an exclusive that Teen Mom’s Amber, who was shown attacking her daughter’s dad Gary at least twice on the show, has been officially charged with two felonies and a misdemeanor for three separate abusive incidents against Gary. Two of the incidents were shown on MTV, and the other is from MTV’s footage that never aired. The two attacks that aired on MTV are shown in the videos below.

amberinsetAmber Portwood is finally facing consequences for her violent actions against baby daddy Gary Shirley. Amber, 20, was officially charged Nov. 18 with two felony counts and one misdemeanor for domestic violence and battery. Under Indiana law, an incident of domestic abuse is considered a felony if a child is present for the abuse — which baby Leah was in both cases. Interestingly, one of the two felonies is based on footage never aired by MTV. As HollywoodLife.com told you first, the court subpoenaed MTV for all raw footage from Teen Mom.

The two incidents related to the felony charges occurred Aug. 14, 2009, and July 18, 2010, while the misdemeanor incident (in which Leah was not present) occurred June 14, 2010. Official documents state that Amber choked, slapped, punched and kicked Gary, 24, in their home.

Public Information Offer, Detective Mitch Carroll, tells us Amber will likely be issued a warrant through the Madison County Prosecutor’s Office. According to a press release, “the affidavit has been submitted to the prosecutor for formal charges. If convicted, Portwood faces up to three years in jail and fines of up to $10,000.”

[From Hollywood Life]

Amber probably won’t go to jail, but hopefully she’ll get fined and have to do a ton of community service, along with parenting and anger management classes. The last we heard from her she was sort-of sharing custody with Gary after having abandoned their daughter Leah to his care for nearly two weeks at the end of October. OK! had a very sympathetic cover story of her a couple of weeks ago, and I’ll ask again what I wrote at the time – imagine if it was Gary who beat Amber twice on camera. Do you think that MTV would dare not to step in or that they would even show that footage? Hopefully she’ll face some serious consequences and get the help she so obviously needs. She also needs supervision when she’s with her daughter.

Update: Amber denies this, in her way. She told Hollywood LifeI didn’t hit Gary in front of Leah so there are no felony charges. None of this is true, there’s nothing against me. They can’t charge me if they don’t have proof.” What does she call all that footage of her doing it then?

Life & Style reports that Amber has given up Leah in the face of these charges and that she’s “not in any rush to get Leah back.

This is from this season of Teen Mom. (There’s a slightly better version here, I can’t embed it – and the fight starts at 3:30, with the hitting at 4:10.)

The video below is from Teen Mom Season 1 the first season on “16 and Pregnant” I think, as I didn’t see it on Teen Mom.

Oksana Grigorieva on Larry King: I walked out on $15 mill (update: Mel responds)

Oksana Grigorieva was on Larry King last night to tell her side of the story. She described Mel’s attack on her the night of January 6th and explained how he hit and choked her and “brandished” a gun. She also denied leaking the phone tapes or trying to extort money from Mel, claiming that she’d walked out on a $15 million offer from Mel to drop the charges and provide him increased visitation with his one year-old daughter, Lucia. As for her motivation for recording Mel, she said that she was afraid that she wouldn’t live through the night and that she also wanted a record for Mel, so that she could show him how he sounded.

I think Kaiser summed up this situation best in her last story on Oksana, in which she wrote thateven with all of her faults as a person, [Oksana is] still a victim of a violent, nasty piece of sh-t who physically and emotionally abused her, and the fact that she’s going to war with him publicly makes me respect her.” My feelings about Oksana changed slightly after watching her on CNN, where she came better than she did in the videos she made for People.com. (Here’s a link describing my impressions at that time, which I don’t want to get into again.) So I agree with Kaiser and do respect the way Oksana is calling Mel out, even though many people are faulting her for that same reason. She’s not a “perfect victim” and is not taking it laying down. E! Online has a very good summary of Oksana’s interview, and you can read the transcript and watch the full video on CNN

“Jan. 6, this year, the beating took place,” Grigorieva recalls in the interview that aired tonight. “Mel actually assaulted me while I was holding the baby in my arms…I ran into my son’s bedroom and told him, ‘Mel’s crazy.’ ”

She says that her 12-year-old son, Alexander (with actor Timothy Dalton), hid behind the bed as she stood there with Lucia, “like a mother protecting her cubs.”

He came into the room “and struck me twice,” she continues. “He wasn’t drunk. He hit me, and choked me in front of my son and brandished a gun at me.”

Gibson was apologizing by the very next day, promising to get “treated” and “be evaluated,” Grigorieva says.

In a signed declaration, one of the supposedly sealed documents from their family court case that have been leaked to the press, Gibson admitted to slapping, but not striking, his ex.

According to the actor, they fought and Grigorieva grabbed Lucia out of her bassinet and started running. “Her rapid movements were causing Lucia’s little body to be flung from one side to the other, her head shaking violently…I slapped Oksana one time with an open hand in an attempt to bring her back to reality,” Gibson stated. “I did not slap her hard. I was just trying to shock her so that she would stop screaming, continuing shaking Lucia back and forth.”

Either way, Grigorieva tells King that she feared for her life afterward and ended up taping Gibson on the phone because she thought she wouldn’t “live through the night,” because he threatened to come over and kill her.

“I wanted my mother to be able to prove that, if I’m dead, that this is who did it,” she says.

And as if the recordings that made it online weren’t disturbing enough, Grigorieva says she has “nonedited” tapes that are “unforgivable.”

Having said her decision to speak out was all about this issue of domestic violence and her daughter, Grigorieva says she thinks victims of abuse are “really decent human beings.”

“They cover up for perpetrators, they’re trying to help them,” she says. “In the back of my mind, I thought, If I don’t killed tonight, I’d like him to hear what he sounds like, to get…better.”

“I wanted to help him, as strange as that may sound.”

Martin Garbus, the attorney who joined her on the air, explained that it is legal to record people without their knowledge in California if one feels his or her life is being threatened or if there are “illegal connotations” in the conversation.

When asked how the tapes got released, Grigorieva says, “I have no idea. They were in possession of my lawyers and the court.”

She says he called her 30 or 40 times in one night, and she recorded him eight or nine times.

Meanwhile, Gibson has accused Grigorieva of making the tapes to extort money from him.

“We think the extortion charges are retaliatory for the domestic violence case,” Horowitz told E! News. “She talks about why she made the tapes. She was fearful and wanted [Gibson] to change. She wasn’t trying to extort him.”

“I never have extorted him,” she says on TV tonight.

Grigorieva admits that not breaking up with Gibson after he supposedly became violent was a mistake.

“I stayed for a little bit too long,” she says. “I gave him last chance. He asked me for the last chance. He begged. He cried. He cried on his knees. What am I supposed to do?”

“At the beginning of our relationship, he said, ‘There’s a dark side of me I don’t want you to see,’ ” Grigorieva tells King, who asks her multiple times about Gibson’s drinking.

“No liquor, not once,” she insists, maintaining that Gibson never drank around her.

“As a human being, as the mother of his child, I would forgive him, but he really needs to come and acknowledge what he’s done and what he’s doing,” she says.

A lot of people are going to be wondering about her motivations for coming forward after she’s released all this evidence. I think she wants to share her side of the story, and try and show that she’s not doing this for money. She also is worried about her daughter now that Mel has shared custody. On Larry King, Oksana claimed to be speaking out for domestic violence victims and said “I guess what I’m trying to do is step in for domestic violence, not just for myself, not for this six months of torture that I went through and my daughter, but also other domestic violence victims. Because this is a very high profile case and I have this opportunity to be invited by you. Other victims might not have such a chance to speak up.” Do I believe that’s her main motivation? No. I do believe that she’s telling the truth about Mel, though. We heard him admit hitting her while she was holding the baby and threaten to kill her, and his excuse for that is laughable.

Update: As a result of this interview Mel is filing for full custody of Lucia, claiming “that Oksana’s false and derogatory statements to the media about Mel and the attempt to sully his character show she is not acting in the best interests of Lucai.” This only shows what a mean, petty bastard he is.

Mel Gibson admits that he slapped Oksana, but says he didn’t punch her

38094, WEST HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - Friday February 26 2010. A sombre-looking Mel Gibson shows up at the BOA steakhouse alone. Following an eight-year absence, the actor recently turned to the big screen with the thriller Edge of Darkness Photograph: David Tonnessen, PacificCoastNews.com

Shock of all SHOCKS, Mel Gibson has admitted in a sworn declaration that he slapped Oksana during an argument. This should be enough for all of those drinking the “He never hit her and if he did she deserved it” Kool-Aid, right? Nope. Because Team Glum C-nt is still splitting hairs – Mel claims that he only slapped Oksana because she was shaking baby Lucia, and Mel also says that it was just a slap, not a punch, as Oksana has claimed. Because slapping the sh-t out of a woman is so much more socially acceptable.

TMZ has obtained Mel Gibson’s sworn declaration in the custody war with Oksana Grigorieva, in which Mel admits slapping Oksana because he says she was so hysterical she was endangering the baby … but he denies hitting her.

Mel is referring to the explosive argument between the two on the night of January 6, 2010, which triggered the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department domestic violence investigation. Oksana claims Mel punched her in the temple and in the mouth, knocking out two teeth.

But Mel tells a very different story. According to his declaration, dated June 23, 2010 and filed with the court, Mel says he and Oksana were having one of their frequent arguments at his Malibu home, when Oksana grabbed Lucia out her of bassinet, brought her right in the middle of the argument and screamed, “Stop yelling or you will make her into a retarded brain damaged idiot!”

Mel says Oksana then “spun around,” ran into her older son’s room and then out into the backyard. Mel says the yard is dangerous at night, set on different levels and dimly lit. Mel says Oksana ran across the various levels for about 75 yards, near thorny trees.

Mel says he implored Oksana to bring Lucia back inside, and that’s when Oksana ran back into her older son’s room, and “started swinging Lucia erratically in her arms, jerking her body from side to side to keep Lucia out of my reach.”

Mel adds Oksana was “hysterical” and her “rapid movements were causing Lucia’s little body to be flung from one side to the other, her head shaking violently.” Mel says he feared Shaken Baby Syndrome.

As she refused to hand the baby over and continued with “rough and erratic movements,” Mel says, “I slapped Oksana one time with an open hand in an attempt to bring her back to reality. I did not slap her hard, I was just trying to shock her so that she would stop screaming, continuing shaking Lucia back and forth.”

Mel’s story could establish a defense to a domestic violence charge — using reasonable force to protect a child from injury.

As for Oksana, Mel says, “I did not hit Oksana with a closed fist, as she alleges. I did not ever punch her in the face or in the temple or anywhere else, not then or at any other time.”

Mel admits, “While I do not believe I handled the situation as well as I should have, I was worried about the rough way Oksana was shaking and tossing Lucia around,” adding, “My hand never touched any part of Lucia.” As we’ve already reported, the pediatrician who examined Lucia the next day saw no evidence of injury.

And Mel says, “There was never any blood on Oksana and none of her teeth were ‘broken,’ although one of the false veneers from a tooth apparently did come off, I did not see that occur at the time.”

[From TMZ]

Yeah… I still don’t believe Mel’s version of events, I still think Oksana’s version is probably closer to the truth. But even if you take Mel’s declaration at face value – will his defenders still be crying and whining about how he was never violent? Will they make this all about Mel trying to help his poor baby? That Oksana “deserved” it? Probably. And that’s sad.

As a personal note, I’d just like to add something – there are several commenters who consistently bitch and moan about my anti-Gibson opinions, and even take to mocking me and abused women in general. For those people, I’d just like to say this: I’m not Team Oksana, I just think that even with all of her faults as a person, she’s still a victim of a violent, nasty piece of sh-t who physically and emotionally abused her, and the fact that she’s going to war with him publicly makes me respect her. She’s not laying down and taking it. She’s not keeping her mouth shut. She’s bringing the fight to the man who treated her like sh-t, and she’s hitting him where it hurts: his wallet, his career, and his reputation.

Karl Lagerfeld will beat you with a bejeweled fan if you ever meet him

My namesake, The Kaiser known as Karl Lagerfeld, likes to beat people. Tenderly. But roughly. Karl Lagerfeld does not know nor does he care about what is appropriate workplace behavior. When he hires a young, attractive scamp to work for him, that scamp better know that he’s going to be beaten. This is all according to a former scamp – a dude named Julien Macdonald, who is now a popular womenswear designer (Sienna Miller wears his stuff often). Julien used to work at Chanel, and he claims The Kaiser would beat him with a black fan:

WORKING with Karl Lagerfeld wasn’t all plain sailing for Julien Macdonald. The designer was spotted and hired by the Chanel legend at the age of 21.

“He used to carry around an old fashioned black fan and when you were being difficult he’d hit you with it,” reveals the designer. “He’d taunt you then hit you with it – it was all done in a joking way and never done very hard, but I do remember it quite clearly. It was his alternative to a stick I suppose. Now Karl’s signature is his silver jewellery but then it was these specially crafted fans. I’m quite glad I had to deal with the fans and not the jewellery. You’d get knocked out if he jokingly hit you with any of those.”

[From Vogue UK]

Sure. It was all a “joke”. It was all done in “fun”. Crash-cut to Karl sitting alone in his opulent Chanel office, complete with a wall of bejeweled antique fans. The Kaiser begins stroking them one by one, his impassive face not revealing the years of torture… and love. He gently lifts one “special” fan from its perch. He lifts the fan to his aging nose, slowly taking in the sweet smell of human flesh, youth, and fear. “This one,” Karl whispers to himself. “This one I will use tomorrow.”
