Britney Spears clearly is not getting enough attention. True, she’s the number one person mentioned in terms of mental health (or lack thereof), daddy issues, mommy issues, children issues, hostage-taking, nudity making, paparazzi dating, drug using, and panic attack inducing. BUT when it comes to pregnancy people keep talking about that damn Jamie Lynn and paying no attention to Brit’s theoretically fertile womb. And that’s just not fair. And even though Jamie Lynn is 16 and pregnant, people still seem to think she the smarter and saner sister. And that doesn’t speak highly of anyone. So Brit made sure to run right out and spend a lot of time looking at pregnancy tests at Rite Aid. Though according to several sources, she’s not just looking at the tests to get attention –she seriously wants to have a whole pack of replacement babies.

It was a chaotic Monday for Britney Spears. She showed up late to her court custody hearing (hey, at least she showed!), saw the paparazzi crush and turned right back around, getting back into her car and driving off for a day of shopping, praying and, well, more driving.

Now the pop star has lost both custody and visitation rights with her precious sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James and, as an insider reveals only in the new issue of OK!, friends fear she may seek to heal her loneliness by having another child — this time with her married paparazzo boyfriend, Adnan Ghalib!

“Britney hates when things are taken from her,” a family member of Kevin Federline tells OK!. “The court’s taken Preston and Jayden away, so she’ll just have another kid to take their place. That’s the way she thinks.”

I’m all for individual freedom, but at this point I’m also all for Britney Spears being banned from reproducing for life. First off, someone with an IQ of 31 really shouldn’t be out having babies. And secondly, someone who thinks children are objects that can just be replaced shouldn’t be out replacing them. Can you imagine the way she’d mess up new kids? She’d probably name them Jayden 2 and Sean 2, and talk about all the terrible things their originals did, and how she stopped loving them so they better not act like that. Then she’d roll around in a bale of hay while eating her own hair.

Brit also wore a large diamond ring on her left ring finger. I doubt she’s really engaged – if she were, she’d be blabbing about it to anyone who’d listen. But she hasn’t gotten engagement attention in a few weeks, so she needed to check that off her “Me Me Me” list. Next to cross of the list: straitjacket-level institutionalization.

Well Britney came and went but never actually showed up. The fallen pop star wasn’t absolutely required to show up to her custody hearing today, but it was strongly encouraged. Meaning that if she gave a damn about her kids, she’d be there. The hearing had both a morning and afternoon session, and Britney completely missed the morning. However she managed to get herself out of bed and to the courthouse for the afternoon session, only to leave without even entering the courtroom. Britney got out of her car, walked a few steps, then got back inside, claiming to be scared by the ever-present paparazzi. The photographers were no different than any other day. Apparently they’re not scary when she wants to haul ass to Rite Aid, but are damn near terrifying when she has to fight for her kids.

In a bizarre and chaotic scene outside the courthouse, Spears arrived for the afternoon session of the proceedings – but abruptly left the courthouse after paparazzi surrounded her.

“I’m scared. I want to get in the car. I’m going in the car,” she said after stepping out of the car as photographers crowded around her.

Spears, 26, then got back in the car. Police tried to coax her out, but she slammed her back against the seat and shouted, “No!” Spears’s car eventually drove off, and she didn’t make it to the afternoon session of the hearing. She had also missed the morning session, staying at home.

Britney then went to eat lunch at Gaucho Grill instead. The paparazzi didn’t seem to scare her that much, as she managed to stop by a church and go inside for a few minutes. I can only imagine what Britney Spears is praying for. But it makes me think of that African proverb: When you pray, move your feet. Meaning don’t just sit on your ass and expect your kids to materialize in the living room. You’ve got to do the things that make it happen. Like walk into the courthouse.

The judge ruled that Britney still can’t see her kids – at least until the next hearing on February 19th. Though something tells me she won’t get her visitation back then either.

According to TMZ, the commissioner made his ruling after the testimony of Lisa Hacker, Britney’s parenting coach; Lonnie Jones, K-Fed’s bodyguard who was at the home to pick up the kids, Pamela Strong, the court monitor who was at the home during the standoff, and two police officers who responded during the ordeal.

If I were the betting sort, I’d bet that Britney’s kids won’t spend the night in her home for at least a year. She clearly doesn’t care enough to be bothered with them. Which is why I can’t understand why in the world she’s fighting for any type of custody. Probably because she views them as her possessions – a common problem of people with narcissistic personality disorder. This is my totally biased, un-expert opinion, but I think she thinks of her kids not as separate, individual people but as one of her many possessions, and she has the right to do with them as she pleases. I don’t think it’ll really hit her until she loses custody permanently that she can’t do whatever she wants and have everything – including kids – her way. It is very clear that Britney doesn’t give a damn about her kids’ well-being. She’s only fighting for what she thinks she deserves. And hopefully that’s exactly what she’ll get.

Though everyone is commenting about Britney Spears’ “married” boyfriend Adnan Ghalib, most media outlets are commenting something about him being separated. Even his own photo agency implies that the paparazzo is no longer together with his wife. But according to MSNBC’s “The Scoop,” Ghalib is still very much with his wife, and the two communicate constantly. That leaves the rest of us to wonder exactly what he’s doing with Britney Spears. Though no one seems to think his motivations are good, if Ghalib really is still with his wife, it’s hard to argue that he’s using Britney AND in love with her. If nothing else, it appears that Ghalib’s wife still thinks they’re either together or will at least get back together.

Britney Spears’ newest constant companion, Adnan Ghalib, might be “happily dating” Spears as Ghalib’s photo agency claims, but a source close to Ghalib’s wife said that the claims that the paparazzo has been separated from his wife for more than a year are untrue.

“He was with her up until a week before he and Britney started this thing,” said the source. “And, she thinks that they’ll work things out in the end.”

Despite what Ghalib and his agency would have you think, sources say that Ghalib and his wife actually communicate frequently, which only makes the situation even stranger. “It makes you think that she [Ghalib’s wife] must think they’ll get something out of it in the end.”

What everyone’s assuming Adnan Ghalib is really getting out of this is money. It’s unclear whether that’s from Britney or from his photo agency. It’s very possible he’s with her for the gifts she might bestow on him, and would officially leave his wife to latch on to Brit. Think K-Fed, take two. But Ghalib is also profiting directly from his photo agency and his new, direct access to Britney.

By all accounts, Ghalib is getting a significant take from the sale of the agency’s pics (reference Ghalib’s visit to a Mercedes-Benz dealership this past weekend), but it is unclear what other financial benefits he might reap.

“This thing with Adnan is so frustrating, it’s clear he’s taking advantage of Britney,” said a friend of Spears. “And with Britney, she’ll keep this up because she hates being alone and she knows it’s pissing people off. She just doesn’t get any of it.”

In a sense, it seems like these two deserve each other. Adnan wants to take advantage of Britney, and she wants to be taken advantage of. One could argue that the only victim is Ghalib’s wife – but it’s unclear if she’s a victim or actually supportive of the whole venture. Britney Spears has a habit of marrying spoken-for men. If I were Mrs. Ghalib – who supposedly still wants to be with Adnan – I would be pretty worried.

Thank God we have Britney Spears around, to help us feel better about ourselves. Worried you’re a little frazzled? Think you’re not a good mother? Afraid you’re losing your mind? Whatever it is you fear you’re bad at – never fear. Britney Spears is always worse. Maybe that’s part of the allure in following her – she’s a great boost to the self-esteem. And a constant reminder that no matter what you were, you can still fall from grace in a spectacular display of embarrassment.

It’s hard to tell with Britney if she’s actually lost her mind or is just courting attention. They’re both pretty chronic issues for her. Yesterday Britney either displayed one of her multiple personalities or was trying to get attention. Maybe one of her multiple personalities was trying to get attention. She decided it would be a really good idea to wear her wedding dress around all day. Yeah. Who doesn’t do that once in a while? I mean it really is a shame that you buy this beautiful dress (hers is hideous) and you only get to wear it for one day. And who wouldn’t want to don the attire in which you wed Kevin Federline? Because you’d always want to remember that special day.

Spears, 26, and Adnan Ghalib, 35, arrived at the Keyes Mercedes-Benz dealership in the San Fernando Valley on Friday afternoon, surrounded by the now-familiar pack of photographers that once contained Ghalib. The twist was the pop singer was wearing the same lacy, short dress from her 2004 wedding to Federline – her second walk down the aisle following her 55-hour marriage to Jason Alexander.

Spears’s own Mercedes was impounded last week after she abandoned it on the road when it blew a tire, but this trip to the dealer was for Ghalib, her constant companion since her meltdown. “They came in to get an estimate for a new car for him,” a sales associate says. “He drives a rental car now. … He was looking into the different lease and purchase options for sport cars.”

Clearly this guy is bad news for Britney is about a thousand ways. The most obvious one, at least yesterday, being that he’s encouraging her neurosis. Someone who actually cared about Britney’s well-being would probably say something like, “Hey honey, do you mind taking off the wedding veil? Thanks.” But as a member of the paparazzi, he knows just how much attention her craziness will garner for the two of them.

The Daily Mail has an incredibly unnecessarily long and detailed article about Britney and Adnan. According to them, the couple is seriously planning on getting married – once Adnan gets a divorce. And Britney converts to Islam, which she’d have to do to be accepted by Adnan’s family. Both of his parents are devout at attend Mosque everyday. Something tells me that Britney couldn’t care less about being accepted by Adnan’s family and definitely wouldn’t have the discipline to commit to a conversion. Plus I’m pretty sure that most religions frown on refusing to wear to wear a shirt when cops ask you to. They also say both that Adnan is only with Britney for the attention and money, and that he deeply loves her with all his heart and is committed to her. So I guess there’s no clear consensus on if he’s good or evil over at the Daily Mail’s office. It seems pretty clear to me that Britney will end up in some sort of lockup – whether hospital or jail – in the next month. I felt sympathy for her last week, but now it’s clear she has no intent on changing no matter how bad things get. So I guess we’re just waiting this out.

The British dude Britney is dating now seems like he’s predictably telling someone where to find them and setting up clear shots . Somehow CelebTV.com has two “exclusive” videos of Britney out with Adnan Ghalib, the photographer she hooked up with after she left the hospital, and it sounds like there’s just one photographer taking shots, which are sure to be worth a mint.

Ghalib was said to have tried to sell photos of Britney as well as his story of how they met for $5 million, but he has so far been unsuccessful. He will probably have much more luck making money with these latest exclusive photos and videos, which are set to air on Extra! tonight.

This guy seems like he’s using Britney, but do you think she cares? He’s giving her some much-needed attention and she often tips of paparazzi as to her whereabouts. It’s not like she’s trying too hard to hide out if she’s out getting Starbucks and leaving the curtains to her room open. If Ghalib is being kind her to and hanging out with her that’s probably all that matters to Britney. It’s likely she’s aware that he tipped at least one photographer off on where to find them and maybe he’s even giving her a cut of the profits. At least these videos show that she’s doing relatively ok.

The Sun today reports that Ghalib is a smooth talking Englishman who was raised in a family of practicing Muslims near Birmingham. He left the UK over ten years ago to pursue a career in the states. Ghalib is married but is said to be currently separated from his wife.

Britney has so far rejected pleas by her family to get treatment in a mental health facility, which is thought to be her only chance of regaining custody rights for her children. It could be true that she tested negative for illegal drugs as Life and Style originally reported. People confirms that her drug test came back negative.

There was a story this weekend that Ghalib approached British papers with intimate photos of Britney that weren’t that revealing and wanted an astonishing $5 million for his story and the photos. The snaps were said to just show Britney on the couch with Ghalib with her hand on his knee, and he should have aimed lower or had more compromising photos. We’ve all seen Britney’s kitty on multiple occasions so it’s not like photos of her relaxing in one of the many hotels she frequents are going to bring much on the open market. There are also a ton of stories floating around about her many exploits, told by the guys who were along for the ride, so one more is not going to shock anyone.

Dr. Phil overstated his visit with Britney, violated hospital policy
Britney managed to sneak away from Cedars-Sinai hospital, where she was placed on a medical hold and released earlier than the standard 72 hour wait time, without being photographed. Dr. Phil claims to have counseled her for a full hour before she left, and will surely bring in huge ratings for having her folks on his show on Tuesday. He of course wanted to have Britney on too, but she wasn’t having any of that. TMZ has a story that contradicts Dr. Phil’s statement in which they say that Dr. Phil showed up after Britney was released, tried to talk to her for 15 minutes, and was summarily dismissed. They also say the TV psychologist didn’t walk her to her car as he claims, either. Given that it’s Britney and she won’t listen to anyone, it seems like TMZ has the right story.

Criticism of Dr. Phil for entering Britney’s room without patient permission
There’s also a story that Dr. Phil’s visit violated hospital policy in that he entered a patient’s room without it being cleared with her. TMZ consulted medical experts who say this is highly unprofessional and that Cedars-Sinai must have been starstruck by Dr. Phil, because his unannounced visit violated the patient’s rights and would typically not be allowed.

For his part Dr. Phil says that the family requested that he be involved and that he spoke to Britney’s mother, father, and her older brother before going to the hospital. Britney’s family was worried that she wasn’t going to be held longer, according to Dr. Phil.

Rumors and false stories in the case
It seems like this outrageous story is opening the floodgates for papers to make even more incredible claims about the situation in order to move copies. News of The World ran a story that would be laughable if the subject hadn’t already defied all belief. They claimed that Britney had a gun the night of the police standoff, that she offered Federline $100 million to hand over custody of the children to her, and that she took over 100 pills that night. It was also K-Fed who called the cops, not the court-appointed monitor, according to their account.

The LAPD has denied that there were any firearms involved, and I think we can safely assume that the majority of that story was fabricated.

PageSix reported that Spears’ “cousin” and assistant, Alli Sims, used a hammer to break down the bathroom door where Britney was holed up with her youngest child, Jayden James. This contradicts earlier reports that had all the staff leaving at least an hour before Britney was escorted out. Indeed, Sims denies that she broke down the door and says that she wasn’t even threre.

Was Britney’s drug test really negative and was she on something or just off the deep end?
Many of you have said that there’s no way Britney’s toxicology tests could have come back as soon as the report in Life & Style that all her drug tests were clean. Some commentors mention a rumor that Spears’ camp is leaking these false stories to the press in order to clear her name.

Courteney Love has speculated that Spears is taking too much Adderall, an ADHD prescription medication that has speed-like properties and can cause erratic behavior at high doses. Another report has her on Clenbuterol, a dangerous horse steroid that is being abused as a quick-fix diet drug.

Whatever happened to Britney, she’s dominating the news again. Surely she’s mentally ill, but she seems aware enough to realize that her episode has managed to take the focus off her young sister’s pregnancy. Many are pointing that out, while others are saying it’s just not fair to hold a mentally disturbed person to the same standards as the rest of us who just watch in disbelief.

According to a source close to the Spears family, Britney, Adnan, who made headlines on Dec. 22 when he stayed overnight with the singer in her Beverly Hills hotel room, and her two boys, Sean Preston, 2, and 1-year-old Jayden James, are spending New Year’s Eve at a private beachfront residence near Dana Point, Calif. The source says they will also be joined by the court-appointed monitor who is responsible for overseeing all of the boys’ visits with their mom.

While Adnan recently told ABC’s 20/20 that he and Britney were only having “lunch” during their overnight visit, he’s telling a different story to his fellow shutterbugs. “He was bragging last week that the night he spent with her at the Peninsula was ‘the best night of his life,’” one insider reveals to OK!.

Now that Britney’s young sister is pregnant everyone is speculating that she’ll ratchet up the crazy in order to get more press in her time of need, but maybe this guy will help calm her down. She’s getting some much needed personal attention, and since that’s what she’s been crying out for it could be enough for her. Do you think this guy will last though? OK! says that he got Britney to leave a store by the front door just so he could get clearer pictures of her. She’s money to him, and he’ll probably sell her out faster than most once their “relationship” ends. He probably videotaped everything too.
