The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show happened in New York last night, and while we won’t see the broadcast until December 4th, there are of plenty of photos to tide us over. I never really got the point of the VS Fashion show, since your eyes are so attracted to the incredible costumes and hot supermodels that you’re barely paying attention to the average bras, panties and garter belts they’re supposed to be selling. Still, they’re getting us to watch that’s for sure. Last night we got to see well known Victoria’s Secret Angels like Miranda Kerr, Doutzen Kroes, Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima along with a few new faces. I don’t know what to say about these photos except “hot,” “she looks skinny,” “crazy outfit,” and “woah,” but I’ll try to include some minor commentary.

First off are the performers - Rihanna, Justin Bieber, and Bruno Mars. Rihanna donned two different outfits during the show, both of them revealing of course. She was also grabbing up on the models. You can see a photo of her doing that here.

Bieber looks like a q-tip to me. This outfit is ridiculous.

When I first saw Adriana Lima (below) I thought “wow she looks great and not super skinny,” but it turns out she had a baby, her second, just eight weeks ago! So she’ll be super skinny again in a very short time. Not that she needs to be, she looks hot.

Speaking of super skinny, here’s Candice Swanepoel, who recently tweeted a photo of her non-existent stomach. She had on three different outfits.

The lovely Miranda Kerr was a green goddess, a pink sweetie with a bizarre piece of fabric across her stomach, and some kind of fluffy angel. I like the black and white lingerie but that pink sparkly set is cheap-looking.

Doutzen Kroes’ butt really stole the stage. Woah! She looks fabulous.

Love these crazy orchid wing things that Alessandra Ambrosio is sporting. She had her second baby just six months ago. Her duck face is bugging me here. She really poses hard. (Update: Alessandra is wearing the $2.5 million floral fantasy bra)

Here’s Leonardo Dicaprio’s very recent ex, Erin Heatherton. She looks like she’s doing fine, thank you very much.

Finally I’d like to end with a model named Liu Wen, who was sporting some very colorful tattoos. These were painted on, and they’re striking.

As always, the commercials were the relative highlight of last night’s Super Bowl XLVI show. Overall, those lucrative advertising firms fared … alright this year. My favorite was the Honda CR-V Game commercial, “Matthew Broderick’s Day Off,” which serves as an unofficial sequel to Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, but it’d have been even better if the commercial had given a (more prominent) nod to the Cameron Frye character as well since he was the most underrated part of the movie itself.

Otherwise, the advert spots were business as usual. The Coca Cola Polar Bears were out in full force as were Jerry Seinfeld and the Soup Nazi for Audi. Most of the commercials can be viewed on the AdBlitz YouTube channel, and Pajiba has compiled a top ten list that’s pretty good, but Dustin Rowles favors the sentimental and also, sadly, doesn’t enjoy beer commercials featuring cute puppies. As for my own taste, I’m a sucker for slightly anthropomoprhized canines, so here are few of those plus some of the better ones featuring celebrities (because that’s what we do here, right?).

Bud Light – “Here We Go” Rescue Dog: So bloody cute that I yearned for the Puppy Bowl. If I could’ve found a dog to fetch me hummus last night, I’d have been one happy woman.

Volkswagon – “The Dog Strikes Back”: This just goes to show that dogs need self improvement too, although I could’ve done without the Darth Vader cameo.

Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt – “The Tease”: John Stamos totally gets his ass kicked and loves it.

2012 Kia Optima – “A Dream Car. For Real Life.”: Featuring Adriana Lima and Motley Crue. Very cheesy but still effective.

Teleflora Super Bowl Ad – “Adriana Lima 2012″: At first, I actually thought this was a (very subtle) Victoria’s Secret commercial.

David Beckham Bodywear for H&M – “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood”: We get it, David. You like to show off your underwear and tats.

Chrysler – “It’s Halftime America”:: This one really hit the spot, as my grandma used to say, and the commercial fits well with the current economic climate without getting too political.

Chrysler – “It’s Halftime America, Gotham City”: Of course, the same theme also works well to plug the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises movie.

A couple of weeks ago, Victoria’s Secret model, Adriana Lima, caused some controversy by claiming she didn’t eat solids for nine days prior to a VS runway show and just subsisted on protein shakes. The 30 year-old mother of one also said that she didn’t drink anything 12 hours before the show because, as the article explained “No liquids at all so you dry out; sometimes you can lose up to eight pounds just from that, she said.” Only now Lima is saying it’s all a “misunderstanding,” but she didn’t really elaborate or claim she was misquoted or anything. Lima showed ET Canada a piece of cake she was supposedly eating (although she didn’t actually eat it from what I can tell) and she claimed that she ate healthy and exercised, pleading “Those teenagers out there, don’t go starving yourself or only drinking liquids. Don’t do that please!” Here’s more:

Adriana Lima wasn’t too pleased to hear that reports of the extreme diet Victoria’s Secret Angels must adopt in order to prep for the annual fashion show were swirling around the media.

The Telegraph wrote in an article that Lima testified to being on a pre-show nine-day liquid diet consisting of protein shakes and egg powder, after which she was banned from drinking water for 12 hours leading up to the show. They also reported that Lima worked out twice a day for the three weeks before.

However, Adriana is insisting that the details of the “crazy diet” are just a “misunderstanding.” She spoke with E! Canada to set the record straight. She even showed E! Canada her piece of coffee cake prior to the show, saying, “I have my Starbucks coffee right there… it was a misunderstanding.”

Like anyone whose body is her source of income — or who poses in her skivvies for all to see — the model says she’s conscious of her figure. She admits, “You can’t eat everything, of course… I eat healthy and work out a lot.”

The new mom also hopes to set a good example for others, saying, “Those teenagers out there, don’t go starving yourself or only drinking liquids. Don’t do that please!”

We’re glad Adriana is trying to be a healthy role model, and we’re relieved to hear those extreme diet rumors were one big confusion.

She probably wasn’t misquoted, she probably does only drink protein shakes for over a week and it’s likely she doesn’t drink 12 hours ahead of time either. There was a lot of debate in that post as to whether that was healthy under a doctor’s supervision (some of you said it was and that it was similar to medically supervised liquid diets) or whether it was unsafe and dangerous. I tend toward the “unsafe” camp, but I’m not a supermodel and I enjoy and need to eat on a daily basis. It would make me sick to eat less than 1,200 calories a day.

Someone schooled Lima that she needs to clam up about the way she prepares for a show and retract her statements about it, so she did. In her mind, it’s probably perfectly normal and likely isn’t half as extreme as the things other models do to lose weight.

She drew ire when she said that it was “easy” to lose the baby weight on one hand, while admitting that she didn’t eat any carbs and often worked out twice a day. That wouldn’t be “easy” for most people, but we don’t have her job or her money and no one pays us for being “hot.” In a new interview ahead of tomorrow’s Victoria’s Secret show, Lima reveals that she goes to even more extremes to bare almost all on the runway. She drinks only protein shakes for nine days ahead of time and doesn’t drink water for 12 hours before a show so she’s sufficiently skinny and “dried out.” That sounds like torture to me. Plus she still works out twice a day.

What does it take to get the body of an Angel?

Brazilian beauty Adriana Lima told the Telegraph just how much strenuous dieting and sacrifice to look effortlessly perfect for the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

The 30-year-old model, who said she’s been working out with a personal trainer every day since August, has doubled her regimen now that the show is coming up on Nov. 29.

She lifts weights, she boxes, she jumps rope — and starting three weeks ago, she’s been doing it twice a day.

She also sees a nutritionist who measures out exactly what she needs to stay healthy but also keep her svelte. She drinks a gallon of water a day.

Then, nine days before the show, she says goodbye to solid foods and drinks only protein shakes. She is allowed to stop drinking that daily gallon of water and just drink normally until 12 hours befor the show.

Then, no liquids allowed at all.

No liquids at all so you dry out; sometimes you can lose up to eight pounds just from that, she said.

Sources close to the process of getting ready for the $10 million production say the models train like Olympians for their big moment on the runway.

“Adriana works really hard at it. It’s the same as if you were a long-distance runner,” said Sophia Neophitou, chief stylist for this year’s show. “They are athletes in this environment — it’s harder to be a Victoria’s Secret model because no one can just chuck an outfit on you, and hide your lumps and bumps.”

Despite the constant workouts, and missing tasty foods, Lima, a 30 year-old mother, said that it’s all worth it.

“It opens up so many doors, everyone knows your name, the whole world knows you now,” she said. “Any model in this world would love to be an Angel.”

If I didn’t eat solids and worked out even once a day I would pass out. I need to have snacks at the gym because when I work out too hard I get dizzy from low blood sugar. Most other people can handle it, but I can’t give blood either or I’ll faint. It baffles me that there are people who can drink only protein shakes, work out twice a day, deny themselves water and still function. There’s something abnormal about it, and of course it’s also totally unhealthy and unsafe. But Lima is skinny, and she obviously thinks it’s worth it. What a great message to send to young women. Being a VS model “opens up so many doors” so it’s totally worth it to not eat for over a week! Lima isn’t even the tiniest VS model and those models are comparatively healthy when matched against high fashion models. It makes you wonder what those poor girls are doing to stay thin.

This kills me, and ordinarily, I’m not one of those people bemoaning celebrity excess in a time of financial crisis. I generally employ a “live and let live” and a “it’s their money, they earned it” philosophy about there things. But to be fair, this isn’t a story about a celebrity spending a ton of money on crap. This is about Victoria’s Secret and their corporate decision to do yet another diamond-encrusted bra. I believe Vicky’s does this every year – make some ridiculously expensive bra, put it on one of their boob-tastic models, and have her pose for lots of photos that are beamed around the world, for promotion. It’s smart, I guess. Because instead of paying for print ads or commercials, they’re guaranteeing “free” press in magazines, blogs and entertainment shows, all of which adds up to more than the bra cost.

That being said, it still reeks of Marie Antoinette. It’s made from 3,000 white diamonds, plus sapphires and topaz, and it took 1,000 hours to make. For a bra. In this economy. It’s just… excessive.

Now, it is a totally cute push-bra. And Adriana Lima looks totally cute in it. Do you have $2 million to spend on a bra? If you do, it’s yours for the taking.

Adriana Lima gave birth on Sunday to a little girl. Adriana and her husband Marko Jaric named their daughter Valentina Lima Jaric. Salma Hayek’s beautiful little girl is named Valentina too, so I guess the name is officially trendy. Personally, I don’t love it or hate it. As for the other “trend” – I guess the girl doesn’t have a real middle name, she just her mom’s maiden name? That trend is growing in popularity – my name’s trend never did. I’m the only person I’ve ever known with no middle name. Not trendy! Anyhoodle, Adriana seems to have had a very easy pregnancy – she and Marko announced in late May, a little more than three months after their elopement. As a matter of fact, Valentina was born almost exactly nine months after their wedding day – Valentine’s Day. Looks like they had a honeymoon baby! This is even more interesting (sort of) because Adriana always talked about how she was saving herself for marriage. It’s all so old-school.

Adriana Lima now has a little angel of her own: the Victoria’s Secret model and her husband, NBA star Marko Jaric, welcomed a daughter on Sunday in New York City.

“Adriana and Marko are thrilled to announce they had a baby girl, Valentina Lima Jaric,” a rep for Lima tells PEOPLE. “Mother, father and baby are all doing well.”

Lima, 28, met the Memphis Grizzlies star, 31, in 2006 and got engaged two years later on Lima’s 27th birthday. The couple eloped on Valentine’s Day this year, tying the knot in a small, private civil ceremony in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Soon after the honeymoon, Lima learned she was expecting. “We are so excited!” she told PEOPLE at the time. “We wanted this. We were ready.”

“Even in my wildest days I knew that I wanted to be the ultimate family man,” Jaric adds. “We’re ready to settle down.”

Congratulations to the happy family! I’m sure they’re thrilled, but I’d also guess that Marko probably wants a boy (someone to play sports with, just my guess). It sounds like Adriana is probably going to “pull a Klum” and get knocked up again any minute now too. I wonder if Adriana is going to hang up her Victoria’s Secret diamond-bedazzled push-up bra now? Adriana Lima is officially pregnant. After rumors swirled for the better part of a day, she finally confirmed that she and husband Marko Jaric are expecting. Marko is some big deal in the NBA, but I don’t follow the football. Yes, I’m joking… I know “NBA” stands for something involving… baseball? Ballet? No matter. Adriana and Marko were married on Valentine’s Day of this year, and Adriana is confirming that she’s due “this winter”. Which probably means December-ish. Which means Adriana got knocked up really quickly after getting hitched.

Adriana rather famously said in 2006 that she was going to be a virgin until she got married. Mm-hm, famous last words. She told GQ, “Sex is for after marriage. [Men] have to respect that this is my choice. If there’s no respect, that means they don’t want me.” So either she saved herself until Valentine’s Day 2009, or she didn’t. It really makes no difference to me, but it’s interesting to think that she might be so old-school as to not only save herself for marriage, but get knocked up two seconds after getting hitched:

Perhaps this is impolite to say, but I think Adriana Lima could have done much better. Marko isn’t bad looking, but he does give off sort of a creepy vibe. Add to that a little incident that happened right around the time of their elopement – a woman accused Marko of sexual assault in Philadelphia, but the district attorney decided not to prosecute. Marko can’t be held accountable for every claim that is made against him, but it will be interesting to see what happens to Marko and Adriana in the long run. In any case, congratulations to the happy couple!

Victoria’s Secret supermodel Adriana Lima and basketball player Marko Jaric are having a rough start to their marriage. Jaric is being accused of sexual assault by a Philadelphia woman. The woman claims that the incident occurred in February, when Jaric’s team, the Memphis Grizzlies, were in town to play the 76ers. There’s no word (that I can find) about the exact nature of the “sexual assault”, but OK! Magazine has the statements from Marko’s representative and his lawyer:

The honeymoon period might be over for supermodel Adriana Lima and new husband Marko Jaric of the Memphis Grizzlies NBA team – marring the newlyweds’ bliss (they tied the knot about a month ago) is an accusation of sexual assault against Marko, brought by a Philadelphia woman, Sports Illustrated reports.

The woman alleges the incident occurred in February when the Grizzlies were in Philadelphia to play the 76ers.

Marko’s rep tells TMZ: “These accusations are 100 percent false and untrue. All high profile couples fall victim to these sort of things through the course of their relationship. Marko and Adriana are very much in love and happily married. The couple knows that there is absolutely no merit whatsoever to these crazy and unfounded allegations.”

Marko’s lawyer has also released this statement [sic]: “I received official word from the Philadelphia District Attorneys office that after a thorough investigation no charges will be filed against my client, Marko Jaric, in connection with the alleged incident with an unnamed female on February 11, 2009 while his team was in town to play the 76ers.

“Persons in Marko’s position are often the target of malicious statements and it is not unusual for the police to be asked to investigate. However, these allegations were proved to be completely false, and while Marko is extremely unsettled by these accusations, he is happy that the law enforcement authorities have cleared him of any criminal conduct and the issue can now be put to rest.”

Eh, they seem a little too eager to call the allegations “crazy”. But the statement from Jaric’s lawyer is telling – if the Philadelphia district attorney’s office has investigated and decided not to charge or prosecute, it probably is nothing.

If the woman is telling the truth, and she’s charging “sexual assault” and not rape, it’s unlikely there’s any corroborating evidence. It would simply be her word against his, given that there were no witnesses to the assault. It would be interesting to know what the woman is alleging, though. “Assault” can be anything from a pat on the butt to a violent attack.

Yet another Brazilian supermodel is off the market. Sorry, guys. But from what I’ve seen, Brazil is chock full of ridiculously beautiful women, so I’m sure another one will be along very soon. Victoria’s Secret model Adriana Lima announced yesterday that she and her boyfriend, basketball player Marko Jaric, were married in a hush-hush ceremony on Valentine’s Day. Lima is one of the more famous Victoria’s Secret models and has spoken publicly about being a 27-year-old virgin. Her family is devout Catholic and she has been saving herself for marriage.

I’ll bet the bride had no shortage of sexy lingerie to wear on the honeymoon. Let’s hope the wedding night lived up to expectations – I’m still skeptical about the whole “virgin” thing myself. Anyway, I’m sure that these two will have very tall children. Congrats to the happy couple.
