While Tiger Woods is hoping to capitalize on the media’s sudden distraction due to another cheating and sex scandal thanks to Jesse James, one person who isn’t so quick to forget what the golf master did is his wife, Elin. Tiger has been the center of a media whirlwind this week as he announced his return to golf -with Elin nowhere in sight- which seems to have prompted another round of words from his multiple mistresses. Sources say that Elin has read some of these accounts, including the racy “Vanity Fair” article, and is not happy.

Not sure exactly how she got it, but Elin Woods read writer Mark Seal’s explosive ”The Temptation of Tiger Woods” expose in the new Vanity Fair — approximately two weeks ago.

A Woods source tells me the story made ”Elin even madder than she was already,” and reportedly convinced her to rethink her earlier decision to stick with the marriage — ”for the time being.”

According to the source, it also finalized her feelings about next week’s Masters tournament.

”While Elin pretty much knew she wasn’t going … after reading the Vanity Fair story, she became totally committed to avoiding that circus — and made that very clear to Tiger, in no uncertain terms.”

This same reporter says that a couple of weeks before The Masters, Elin and Tiger had a big blowout because Elin doesn’t think Tiger’s reconcilication efforts and sex rehab stint are sincere. Ya THINK?

Here’s the latest I’m hearing about the current state of the Tiger and Elin Woods ”reconciliation”:

It’s not going well at all.

I’ve learned the couple’s much-touted weekend fight focused on several issues:

• Elin believes Tiger is only giving lip service to his recovery and is convinced he’s still more worried about getting his golf career back on track — rather than Elin’s feelings about their relationship.

• Tiger’s wife also is furious about the ongoing revelations about his past indiscretions, and believes there are even more women who will come forward with stories, text messages, photos and even videos.

• Another problem: Elin thinks Tiger is not as attentive as he should be to their two children — despite his claim his kids are so important to him.

• Along with having her lawyers continuing to draft divorce documents, Elin reportedly is planning to head back to Sweden for a visit with her family — joined by her children. ”She wants to be out of the country when Tiger plays the Masters,” a good source said Monday.

The legal work has been on the back burner as Elin made one last attempt to save the marriage after Tiger got out of rehab.

Their conversations this weekend — which led to the big fight, followed by Elin retreating to the couple’s ”Privacy” yacht — convinced her they were done.

I can’t say this surprises me. How does a person overcome this magnitude of betrayal, especially when the people he cheated with are not keeping quiet about it? I think I would be compelled to read everything too, because I don’t think Tiger came clean about everything to Elin – not even close. I’m sure he was hoping he could just go back to being a great golf player, and everything else would go away and Elin would go back to being his meek little wife who came to all his tournaments and posed for the cameras with his adorable children. As if the cheating allegations by at least four different women weren’t bad enough, Jesse James’ reputation has also been under fire as a possible Nazi sympathizer. The first piece of evidence questioning James’ beliefs was mistress #1, Michelle McGee (whom I refuse to refer to as “Bombshell,” because, well….just look at her!), a white supremist who has “WP” tattooed on her body and participated in a Nazi-inspired photo shoot. The second was a report that James collects Nazi memoriabilia. The third was a recently released photo of James sporting a Nazi cap and doing the Nazi “heil Hitler” salute. Now, James’ legal team is addressing these rumors directly, saying that their beleaguered client is a history buff who collects Nazi artifacts but is no anti-semite.

Jesse James’ Nazi hat was a gift from a Jewish mentor and does not make him a neo-Nazi, his lawyer said Wednesday.

James is at a treatment facility “to deal with personal issues” in a bid to save his marriage to actress Sandra Bullock, a spokeswoman for James said.

“He realized that this time was crucial to help himself, help his family and help save his marriage,” she said.

A photo recently surfaced of James wearing the German Nazi hat as he raised his right arm in a salute. The hat may have been in poor taste, but it was given to James as a gag gift by his Jewish godfather, attorney Joe Yanny said.

Possessing Nazi memorabilia does not make someone a neo-Nazi, he said.

As evidence that James is no anti-Semite, Yanny said James lived for nearly a month in an Israeli kibbutz. His lawyer would not disclose what kind of treatment the famous motorcycle designer is seeking.

“I would request that his rights in regards to privacy and his medical matters be respected,” said Yanny.

James has been the target of controversy and publicity since his separation with Bullock soon after she won a best actress Oscar earlier this month.

Yanny refused to talk about the condition of the James-Bullock marriage, which came under question when several women went public with claims they were involved with him.

“I understand people’s desire in newsworthy stories, but I would hope that by now this wasn’t such a newsworthy story such that his basic rights and privacy aren’t continuously invaded in an improper manner,” Yanny told CNN.

He said “99 percent” of what has published about James in recent weeks is untrue.

Okay, I can believe that James is a history buff. I can even believe he lived in a Kibbutz. But that photo? I don’t know. I’m not Jewish, so maybe I am out of my depth here, but perhaps some of our Jewish posters can lend some commentary here: since when is the Holocaust fair game for “gag gifts?” Is this subject really something that Jewish people joke about at this level – giving someone a Nazi hat and encouraging them to pose in a Hitler-esque pose?

I also find it interesting that the lawyer refers to James’ “medical issues.” I guess “serial cheater” is now a medical issue? We have Tiger Woods to thank for that one. What would that medical issue be named, exactly – “Can’tKeepitinMyPants-itis?” Yeah, I’m not buying it. Nice try on the damage control, but maybe James should have thought about all of the damage his marriage, career and reputation would sustain before he started trolling the Internet for skanks. And there’s no medical condition on earth that can justify sleeping around with no protection. That’s just classic douchebag, and there ain’t no cure for that! As for the “99 percent of claims are untrue,” this echoes James’ original apology from two weeks ago – but notice that there’s not any clarification beyond that. I think we know what 1% is true, based on his wife’s reaction: Jesse James is a cheater.

If there is a poster child for bad decision making, I nominate country singer Mindy McCready. She’s a talented woman, but that’s not what she is known for. Instead, McCready is notorious for her underage affair with baseball star Roger Clemens, as well as a long history of drug abuse, arrests, domestic violence, suicide attempts, jail time, and even a sex tape featuring her and an ex-boyfriend. Of course, the sex tape also includes Mindy giving some details about her fling with Clemens, along with details of her relationship with Dean Cain and country star Alan Jackson. The tape is being marketed by Vivid Entertainment, and is coming out just as McCready has released a new album. Hmmm. Coincidence?

Mindy McCready will make her adult film debut, offering a narrative about her famous former lovers one of whom she says is baseball legend Roger Clemens.

“Mindy McCready, Baseball Mistress,” coming April 19, will feature the Celebrity Rehab star as the 34-year-old country singer “takes it off and gets it on with a boyfriend named ‘Peter’ in the tape that contains almost an hour of action,” says a news release from Vivid Entertainment (the same company that released Kim Kardashian’s sex tape).

On the video, McCready discusses ex-lovers, including ex-fiance Dean Cain, and her alleged relationship with country singer Alan Jackson. She says she “took a shower and had oral sex with Clemens when she was only 16 and he was 29,” and adds that Clemens was “good” in bed “when he could get it up.”

McCready told the New York Daily News in April 2008 that she had a long-term affair with Clemens.

Clemens, nicknamed “The Rocket,” is under investigation for perjury after he testified before Congress in 2008 that he never used performance-enhancing drugs, according to the Daily News.

A rep for Roger Clemens did not return a call for comment.

Vivid is also including a bonus sex video, Tom Sizemore Sex Scandal, featuring McCready’s Celebrity Rehab co-star, which was first released by Vivid in 2005.

According to a Fox News report, McCready also took a swipe at Oprah Winfrey, calling her a racist and saying she allegedly told her she should have been strong enough to escape an abusive relationship because she is white.

A call to Winfrey’s rep was also not immediately returned.

McCready was hospitalized in 2005 after being assaulted by ex-boyfriend Billy McKnight, who was charged with attempted homicide. She has had run-ins with the law on drug charges as well as probation violations and survived at least three suicide attempts.

The singer first arrived on the music scene at age 18 when her Ten Thousand Angels debut album sold 2 million copies. McCready’s new album, “I’m Still Here,” was released March 23.

The Fox news item quotes her rep, who states that her record company was unaware of the source of the “alleged film.” “We have been informed by legal counsel that any illegally-obtained property, and/or fabricated footage, will be dealt with swiftly, following proper legal procedure,” the company said. “We are awaiting a statement and direction from Mindy’s legal counsel and will issue an official response shortly.” That isn’t exactly a denial from Mindy – only her record company.

The latest chapter in the ever-unfolding cheating scandal of Jesse James is adding a little more color to Sandra Bullock’s reaction to the news that her husband of five years was having sex with at least four different women throughout the marriage. A source is now revealing that Sandra had some suspicions about how her husband was spending his time while she was away – but didn’t know for sure until the “In Touch” reporter called her rep to confirm the story.

When it comes to the sordid details of Jesse James’ betrayal of Sandra Bullock, there is one small comfort: The actress did not learn about the cheating because her publicist received a call for comment from In Touch Weekly, the magazine that broke the story.

According to a person with knowledge of that phone call, Bullock’s representative seemed to have most of the information about James’ extra-marital activities already.

“The call was made on Monday and the rep never denied it once,” said the source. “The rep was read all the dirty texts (between James and Michelle “Bombshell” McGee) and the rep asked all the right questions — about the dates, times, etc. of all the texts, and that was it. It all went down pretty easily actually.”

So when did Bullock find out about James and McGee’s affair?

“It was definitely before (the day of the call). Bullock was suspecting something before McGee went public,” said a Bullock insider.

Meanwhile, Radar is claiming that Sandra has been staying at her home in Hollywood Hills – where she lived prior to moving in with James when they got married.

A devastated Sandra Bullock is hiding out at her pre-marital Hollywood Hills mansion in the wake of husband Jesse James’ cheating scandal, RadarOnline.com has learned.

With four mistresses now public, Bullock has chosen to deal with her husband’s tawdry affairs within the confines of the luxury house she purchased in 2001.

The Oscar-winning actress has welcomed well-wishers and supporters to the home, RadarOnline.com has been told exclusively.

“She is here,” confirmed a friend who went to visit the star on Thursday.

Remarked one neighbor, who did not want to be identified: “There has been alot of activity at the house.”

“There have been a few cars going in and out of her gate and people going in there in the last few days,” the resident said.

“There has been more activity here in the last week than in the last year.”

“It’s usually very quiet here.”

On Saturday morning, Bullock’s trashcans were taken off the street by an unknown male, who refused to speak to photographers camped outside.

Bullock has not been spotted since moving out of the beachfront home she shared with James, the West Coast Chopper owner, in Sunset Beach.

Bullock bought the Hollywood three-bedroom for $1.485 million in January 2001, where she counts Cameron Diaz as one of her neighbors.

Despite marrying James, Bullock never sold her house on the A-list street, which is situated behind the famed Chateau Marmont hotel.

But she was known to stay there by herself throughout the marriage.

“She loves the house,” said a real estate insider.

“That’s why she never sold it. It’s a pretty big property and it’s private.”

The home is a 45 minute drive from Sunset Beach where Bullock once lived with James ­ and who remains there still, raising his children.

She has not returned to the house, RadarOnline.com has confirmed.

I’m really wondering what kind of scum works at “In Touch.” I mean, was it necessary to call Sandra’s rep and read all the dirty texts? How is that journalism? If there is any positive side to all this, at least Sandra knows now that her suspicions were justified. As more women come forward, people are wondering what betrayed spouse Sandra Bullock is going to do next – and how much she knew about her husband’s activities. Many insiders who know the couple say that Sandra had no idea what James was up to. In fact, just days before the first story broke, Sandra and Jesse made a joint appearance at the Walmart corporate headquarters in Arkansas, and spectators say the couple was cracking jokes and behaving very lovingly with each other.

Stunned by revelations that her husband Jesse James cheated with tattoo model Michelle McGee, Bullock “needs time to grieve and process what has happened,” a close friend tells PEOPLE in its new cover story, on newsstands Friday.

The friend says Bullock, 45, learned of her husband’s betrayal just eight days after her triumphant March 7 Oscar win.

New reports say that Sandra has returned to Los Angeles, most likely to fulfill work obligations and possibly to check in on James’ children. James’ ex-wife, Janine Lindemulder, spoke to TMZ and said that she hopes her daughter, Sunny, can continue to have a relationship with Sandra, regardless of whether she stays married to James. I should also point out that in all the recent interview Lindemulder has given, never once does she say that she was still with Jesse James when Sandra and Jesse started dating, as many people have been claiming. In fact, Lindemulder said in her In Touch interview that not only were she and James separated when he met Bullock, but that he was sniffing around hoping for sex with Lindemulder after a few weeks of dating Bullock.

Janine James — the mother of Jesse’s daughter, Sunny — tells TMZ, “If Sandra decides to keep a relationship going with our daughter Sunny, I would in no way stop that.”

She added, “Sunny loves Sandy and vice versa. She’s welcome to be a part of every aspect of Sunny’s life.”

Despite the fact that Sandra ripped Janine in a legal move to obtain custody of Sunny last year, Janine seems to be grateful for everything Bullock did saying, “She has taken care of our daughter as if she was her own … she sacrificed much … and I will forever be indebted to her for that.”

Like the London premiere, the German event – originally set for Monday night – also got called off.

This Michelle McGee is one evil, disturbed bitch. The latest report coming from People actually made me kind of sick to my stomach. Apparently, Elin Nordegren is seriously thinking about staying married to her now-infamous womanizer husband, Tiger Woods, because she doesn’t want their children to be raised in a broken home. Yep, that’s right – she’s trying to save her marriage for the sake of the kids.

Elin Nordegren is hoping to save her marriage to Tiger Woods because she doesn’t want to raise their two children without a father.

“Elin wants a solid family life,” a Florida source tells PEOPLE. “She was a child of divorce and felt her dad slighted her. She absolutely does not want that to happen to Sam and Charlie. So she wants to keep her family together even if she and Tiger live together as friends instead of lovers.”

During the past week, Nordegren, 30, reportedly visited her husband at the Gentle Path sexual addiction clinic in Hattiesburg, Miss., where he has been getting treatment.

During the middle of the six-week counseling session, a patient’s spouse is invited to visit for about a week, according to a former patient of the alcohol addiction section of the Hattiesburg clinic.

“This is the rough part where the patient has to admit to his wife that he [cheated],” the former patient tells PEOPLE.

Tiger Wants to Stay Married
Woods, according to a Florida insider, also wants to hold onto his family and will do whatever it takes to make that happen.

Tiger wants to go back to being a golf star with major endorsements,” the insider tells PEOPLE. “He wants his clients, who have kids of their own, to think he is a good family man. He had hoped all along that his wife’s initial furor would die down so they could discuss the situation and behave rationally.”

Adds the insider, “Keeping the family together is very important to Tiger so he is doing whatever it takes to keep Elin from leaving him and taking the kids.” (Sam is 2, and Charlie is 11 months.)

If Nordegren does decides to continue the marriage, she would likely put on a happy face, take care of children and continue taking courses at Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla., while Woods would go back to playing golf and fulfilling his endorsement contracts, according to the insider

“Elin is as smart as a whip and a wonderful, caring mother,” the insider says. “She is a special kid, well educated and capable. But she could be lonely forever.”

Because Tiger’s such a great dad, right? Not only did he cheat on their mother while she was carrying both of them, he was so distracted by chasing skanks throughout their young lives that he hardly had any time for them. And you know, if the marriage, children, endorsements, and opinions of other golfers mean so much to Tiger, maybe he should have thought of all that before he started whoring around behind his wife’s back. But forget all that – Elin doesn’t want them to be stigmatized by a divorce and is even willing to live together with Tiger as friends in order to keep the home together.

It makes me sad that Elin is willing to put her own personal happiness and dignity aside in this situation. It may seem like she is doing her children a favor in the short term, but I can’t imagine her being happy in a loveless marital arrangement for long. It doesn’t seem fair to me that Elin should be the one making concessions here after being wronged so publicly. Maybe Tiger is telling her all the right things, fresh from his sex rehab, but does anyone really think he can change?

For all the vehement denials issued by Susan Sarandon’s reps – and even her mom – it looks like the rumor about her young entrepreneur boyfriend may be true. The Oscar-winning actress has been pulled into a court dispute between Jonathan Bricklin, with whom Sarandon has been spending a great deal of time since her split with Tim Robbins, and his business partners at an upscale ping pong club in NYC. Bricklin’s partners have named Susan Sarandon as a witness – and possibly a little bit more.

Susan Sarandon — who recently separated from Tim Robbins — is caught in the middle of a legal battle involving her new boyfriend, Jonathan Bricklin, and his two biggest investors in SPiN, the pingpong club in the Flatiron District.

The majority investors in SPiN, Bill Mack and Iwona Herdzik, claim in a suit filed last week in Manhattan Supreme Court that the club’s founders — Bricklin, Andrew Gordon and Franck Raharinosy — have frozen them out of the business.

Mack and Herdzik, who together poured more than $1.5 million into SPiN, allege that Bricklin, Gordon and Raharinosy issued additional shares of the company to third parties without their approval, mismanaged SPiN’s finances and threatened to shut the club and file bankruptcy.

Not in the suit are statements sources made to Page Six that Bricklin and minority partner Sarandon, who invested $50,000 in the club, are in cahoots to run the business without consulting Mack and Herdzik. The sources say Sarandon and Bricklin met at a Naked Pingpong party in February, 2008, and later became romantically involved as they worked on a video for Robbins’ 50th birthday. Sarandon’s rep did not respond to a request for comment.

Herdzik and Mack claim they tried to resolve things through arbitration, but Bricklin and his fellow co-founders allegedly refused and threatened to close the club and give the keys to SPiN’s landlord — which would have lost the investors all their money.

A rep for SPiN responded: “Bill and Iwona attempted to take control of SPiN New York, but the judge flatly denied that request. There is zero truth to the allegations that the club is seeking bankruptcy protection.

“They tried to work out their differences with Bill and Iwona over a heated table tennis match at SPiN, but they ended up in court, which is a lot less fun.”

There was a hoax e-mail saying Tiger was having major reconstructive surgery on his face after his wife smashed it with a golf club. Now, E! Online’s gossip queen Ted Casablanca is insisting that Tiger – face intact – is staying at the Trump Hotel in NYC, behaving very much like a single dude.

T-Dubya has been shacking up at the Trump Hotel at 1 Central Park West, sources confirm to the A.T. So has his wife, Elin, joined him?

Yeah right. The paps have been staking out the hotel like it’s their job. Oh wait…

Sources inside the luxury towers tell us the missus hasn’t come a knockin’, and if we were Woods, we wouldn’t be expecting her anytime soon, either. Not without her big-gun attorneys, that’s fer sure.

T.W. has been doing his best to keep a very low profile there, which for him, means going back and forth between hitting the bar and barricading himself in his room. Supposedly, Woods has been boozing and fraternizing with some females there. Hardly the actions of a dude trying to woo his wife back.

I find it hard to believe that Tiger could be staying at such a high-profile place like Trump Hotel without being absolutely mobbed by the paparazzi. This is one of the biggest scandals in years – I’m sure the tabloids have mobilized their troops accordingly. Look at how they hounded Elin’s twin sister in Europe, thinking it was her. But if it’s true, it certainly doesn’t sound like Tiger is interested in preserving the marriage. Does anyone else think “Where’s Tiger” is the new “Where’s Waldo?”
