This is the official end of Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil’s cracked-out marriage. Not with a bang, but a whimper. Honestly, I thought the only way the two of them would get out of this marriage would be through death, most likely a drug overdose or alcohol poisoning. Blake (Once-Incarcerated-Now-Paroled) was the one to file for divorce, on the grounds of adultery. Blake’s mom even referred to Amy as a “trollop”! At first, it looked like Amy was totally going to fight the charges. However, she ended up admitting that she committed adultery, and Blake was granted the divorce in a hearing that lasted “all of 75 seconds”. Tuesday, Jaybird thought Winehouse returned to the UK because St. Lucians were tired of her antics - that could totally be the case, but my guess is that Winehouse returned mainly to deal with the Blake drama:

The 2-year marriage of Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil came to a formal end in a functional first floor courtroom in London Thursday.

As one of 25 couples seeking to dissolve their marriages, Fielder-Civil, 27, was granted the divorce from Winehouse, 25, in a hearing that lasted all of 75 seconds, as the singer admitted adultery, court papers show.

Neither she nor Fielder-Civil were at Court Three of the High Court Family Division in London’s Holborn area to hear District Judge Michael Segal grant the “quickie” divorce.

In a question-and-answer format, the court papers show that it was Fielder-Civil who filed for the split. Asked if he finds it “intolerable” to live with Winehouse, he replies, “Yes.” And when asked to “state briefly your reasons for saying that the respondent has committed the adultery alleged,” he answers, “The Respondent confessed the adultery to me in April 2008.”

The papers show they have not lived in the same household since that date.

In her response, Winehouse is asked if she admitted “the adultery alleged in the petition.” She answers a simple “yes.” She adds that she is not intending to defend the case.

The couple married in Miami May 2007. First talk of a divorce surfaced in January, when Fielder-Civil, a music-video producer, signaled he would start proceedings. The singer initially said she would not let it happen

Unless a dispute arises, the divorce will become final in six weeks.

I wonder if Amy has met someone new? I have to admit, I haven’t been keeping up with the Winehouse dramz, but I don’t think she’s been photographed with anyone special in a while. That could be one explanation for why she is no longer contesting the divorce. Another reason could be that she simply realized that Blake was no good, that in the end, he was a user and an abuser. Of course, that would be a pot/kettle situation for Amy.

I’m totally torn about whether to believe this story – it’s Britain’s News of the World, and they’ve been getting a lot of stuff wrong lately. And yet, it’s a story about Sienna Miller and Balthazar Getty still getting it on – which I totally believe. Sigh. I think News of the World might have gotten this one right. They have a source who claims that Sienna and Balthazar are looking to purchase a little London love nest. And yes, Balthazar still isn’t divorced. He’s not even formally or semi-formally or “kinda-sorta” separated. He is still very much a married man who still spends time with his wife Rosetta and his four kids. It looked like Sienna and Balthazar had broken up for a short time, but it was probably just for public relations purposes, because after Sienna did some film promotion, she was back to wandering around topless with Balthazar:

I blew a sigh of relief when the Factory Girl star called it off with her married lover in May. But after a reconciliation last month, the pair are now looking for a house together.

A friend said: “Sienna wants to settle down with Balthazar. She’s been talking babies and marriage since they got back together and wants it to work this time.”

“While Balthazar isn’t keen on getting married again, he has agreed they should move in together.”

“Sienna’s London flat is already up for sale, and they’re looking for a Chelsea love nest to share. They’ve budgeted £4million for a town house. Sienna’s very excited.”

Her flat in Paddington, Central London, is worth around £1.3million Last month the Sienna [sic], 27, dropped the asking price by £300,000 to sell it quicker.

I gave a little dry heave with “She’s been talking babies and marriage since they got back together and wants it to work this time.” Are Sienna and Balthazar on crack? Get. A. Divorce. I don’t understand why people do this – it reminds me a little of the situation with South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford. Gov. Sanford obviously loves his mistress quite a bit – so instead of drawing out this huge production of crying in front of the cameras, just get a damn divorce and be with the woman you love. That’s what I think when I see Balthazar Getty at this point – just end the drama. There’s no way Balthazar is getting out of this whole situation without getting his image severely banged up, but at the very least he can end the drama.

News of the World also conducted an alleged interview with Sienna, but this could be total crap too. Some of Sienna’s “answers” seem like they were pulled from other interviews, but I’m not quite sure. She could just be repeating herself, it’s perfectly possible. Here are the highlights:

Being at the centre of such high-profile romantic scandals must have caused you a few sleepless nights. Lots of women branded you a home wrecker.
I’ve been at war, without a doubt. I have really experienced the judgment of women in the past year.

How do you feel about your private life being made so public? Your love life?
I’m linked with EVERYONE I meet. Literally EVERY single person. I don’t know where I’m supposed to get the time for all this! I have male friends but it doesn’t mean . . . y’know. It’s so hard.

Yes! Well I feel defensive and I feel like, when people get so hurt. You know if you hear people talking about you behind your back you want to confront them. I think it’s inevitable, it’s a human instinct.

So what message would you have for the paparazzi and rumour mongers?
Why me? Pick on someone else!

But you are portrayed as a real party girl. Is it true? What kind of drunk are you?
Not as much as it’s made out. I can handle it. I can drink most grown men under the table and be fine. [I’m] not mean [when I get drunk]. I get a bit louder and giggly.

So are you a regular at the gym?
I don’t work out. I do nothing. I do yoga once a year.

Believe it or not, I took out a lot of the whining. I love how Sienna is just permanently “the victim” in nearly every situation in her life. She whined about Los Angeles, she whined about the media, she whined about Hollywood beauty standards, she whined about fashion. No one gets just how hard Sienna’s life is! If you need me, I’ll be over here playing the world’s tiniest violin for Sienna.

True Blood costars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer are getting hot and heavy on and off camera. To her credit, Anna hasn’t been regaling the press with stories about their relationship, and she hasn’t been playing coy about the erotic, racy scenes she and Stephen have to shoot either. In a recent interview, Anna was blasé about True Blood’s content, saying “Obviously, if you’re already with that person then you’re not having to sort of get over the ‘Wow, I’m naked with someone that I don’t even know the middle name of!’ I think that regardless of what kind of scene you’re doing, the better you know the person … the more open and real your performance can be. And that goes for stunt scenes and heavy emotional scenes and sex scenes. OK, so I have a little bit of a leg up in that particular area with my on-screen [partner].”

There’s a question being posed by Star Magazine - just when did Moyer and Paquin begin their off-screen romance? Moyer always claimed that he left Lorien, his girlfriend/baby-mama of seven years, then took up with Anna. But now Star got a hold of an interview Anna allegedly did where she claims that their relationship was “unstoppable” and that they tried “to stay professional for as long as we could.” Yeah, it sounds like Anna was homewrecking the hell out of Stephen. And that he went along willingly:

It was love at first, um, bite for Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer after the British hunk aced his True Blood audition opposite the Oscar winner in early 2007, but they kept their instant attraction a secret from everyone, including his girlfriend of seven years — the mother of his young daughter, Lilac.

That September, Stephen told a British newspaper that his move from London to L.A. for the series had resulted in the end of his relationship with British journalist Lorien Haynes, saying: “Nobody has left anybody for anybody else.” But those words ring hollow now that Stephen and Anna — who now live together — have admitted that sparks flew the moment they first met!

“We tried to stay professional for as long as we could,” says Anna. “But it was unstoppable!”

Stephen’s ex had never before spoken publicly about their breakup, but comments to Star about the situation in our July 20 issue — on sale today. And a friend of the actor weighs in on his friend’s decision to leave Lorien.

“You can understand why he grabbed the opportunity to go to L.A. for True Blood and reach for a new level of stardom,” says the friend. “But Lorien is beautiful, brilliant and the mother of his daughter. Ending their relationship after seven years was a high price for Stephen to pay, even if he and Anna seem happy together.”

I don’t think Stephen and Anna “seem” happy together, I think they actually are happy together. Ordinarily, I could care less about The Homewrecker Wars being waged about certain actresses (and yet, not some other actresses). But I did find this story interesting. When Anna and Stephen first met, she was 25 years old and he was, like, 38 years old (I’m trying to estimate when True Blood’s first season began filming). They were both old enough to know what they were doing, but my guess is that Moyer, nearing his fortieth year, simply opted for the younger model. It’s sad that he dumped the woman who had given birth to their daughter, but that was Moyer’s choice. Oh, and he’s got another kid, too. A son named Billy – I have no idea about that baby-mama. Lord, I hope Anna doesn’t get pregnant. Moyer will just move on to the next woman. That seems to be his modus operandi.

About three weeks ago, we reported on a National Enquirer story that made a lot of us sick. The Enquirer alleged that Oscar-winner Morgan Freeman, 72, had been engaged in a decade-long affair with his step-granddaughter E’Dena Hines. Morgan was married to his second wife Myrna during the scope of the alleged affair, and the affair was supposed to have started when E’Dena was seventeen. She is now 27 years old. E’Dena and Morgan have no biological connection – she is the granddaughter of Morgan’s first wife, but Morgan and his second wife helped raise E’Dena, so it’s still pretty gross. After the Enquirer’s report, there was no formal denial from Morgan’s camp or anything, and I began to suspect that maybe his now estranged wife Myrna had leaked the information as an attempt to perhaps get more money in their divorce proceedings.

The Enquirer’s follow-up report is just as gross. They’re now alleging that the E’Dena’s goal was to “become Mrs. Morgan Freeman” and that Morgan has “led her to believe that he wants to marry her.” According to sources, Morgan and E’Dena have an open relationship – they are both seeing other people – but they seem to want to marry each other for real:

In our June 29 issue, we revealed that sources close to the 72-year-old actor claim that he had carried on a shocking, nearly decade-long affair with his 27-year-old step-granddaughter, E’Dena Hines. She is the granddaughter of Morgan’s first wife – whom he and his estranged second wife Myrna raised since she was a young child.

The long-secret relationship led to the breakup of Morgan’s marriage, say sources close to Freeman and his wife.

Now, The ENQUIRER has learned that Morgan and E’Dena are planning to wed after Morgan’s contentious divorce battle is over!

“Morgan has led her to believe that he wants to marry her,” a family insider told The ENQUIRER.

“Becoming Mrs. Morgan Freeman has been E’Dena’s goal,” revealed another family source.

Wife Myrna, 68, has admitted that she and Morgan have not shared a bed since 2001, and that they had an open marriage – with both Morgan and Myrna having other partners. For years, Morgan carried on an affair with former schoolteacher Mary Joyce Hays at the same time he was romancing E’Dena.

Years later, when Myrna realized they were still intimate, she became so enraged that she threatened to sue E’Dena as “correspondent, as an adulterer, in my marriage”.’

So, is this just more pseudo-dirty laundry being leaked to the Enquirer by Myrna’s camp, or is there the whiff of truth? I truly don’t know. I want to think so highly of Morgan, but I sort of believe that some of this may be possible. Morgan has brought E’Dena as his “date” to many events throughout the years… but that could mean anything. The Frisky is asking aloud if the rumors of this scandal are enough to destroy Morgan’s career – what do you think?

Does everyone remember the girl that John Mayer hooked up with right after he and Aniston called it quits in March? Her name’s Scheana Marie Jancon, and she’s 23 years old. Allegedly, she and Mayer hooked up a few times. Then Scheana tried to get famous off of the association with Mayer by giving an interview “telling all” about their “relationship” and Mayer predictably dumped her. Well, Scheana’s back, and she’s trying to get famous off a whole new hook-up – this time it’s her years-long affair with married Eddie Cibrian.

This story comes from In Touch Weekly, and seems completely sourced from one of Scheana’s “friends” named “Sandra”. According to Sandra, Scheana and Eddie were carrying on for a couple of years. At first, Scheana had no idea Eddie was married. Probably because this girl is an idiot, and she had never heard of Google? Anyway, she eventually found out Eddie was married, but Scheana still kept carrying on the affair. In Touch also has some pictures of Eddie and Scheana together, so part of the story is probably very real. But when Eddie was caught in public with LeAnn Rimes, it seems Eddie totally dumped Scheana, even changing his phone number. Now Scheana’s friend is whining to In Touch that Scheana can’t believe that she wasn’t Eddie’s only mistress! Wait, let me go get my tiny violin:

LeAnn Rimes recently told Dean Sheremet, her husband of seven years, that she wanted to leave him in the hope of being with her married Northern Lights costar Eddie Cibiran. But LeAnn will be surprised when she learns that Eddie was not only cheating on his wife – he was also cheating on both of them with 24-year-old model Scheana Marie Jancon up through February.

“Scheana was in love with Eddie,” Scheana’s close friend tells In Touch. “And she said Eddie told her he loved her. They were inseparable.”

Eddie and Scheana were connected emotionally and physically. “They had a really strong attraction,” Sandra reveals. “She said the sex was amazing. It was very passionate.”

Eddie, who is married to model Brandi Glanville and has two sons with her, met Scheana three years ago when she was a bartender at the Grand Havana Room in Beverly Hills. Eddie, who she claims didn’t tell her he was married, took her out on dates every Tuesday.

“That was their date night,” Sandra says, but adds that he chose low-key LA bars… probably so he wouldn’t be spied straying. “He wasn’t shy at all about PDAs,” Sandra tells In Touch. “He just didn’t have any shame.”

When Sheana finally did figure out that Eddie was married, she could not bring herself to end it. “She didn’t mean to be a home wrecker. She was just too far into it,” Sandra adds. “Her feelings were involved and it was hard for her to stop.”

Eddie treated Scheana like his girlfriend and spoiled her with vacations and jewelry. In the summers, he took her on five-day boating trips at local lakes, and in the winter he taught her how to snowboard.

One Christmas, Eddie even bought Scheana diamond hoop earrings. “She wears them all the time,” Sandra adds. “They’re beautiful. He treated her like a princess.”

Eddie and Scheana carried on their romance until February. “They took another trip to Mammoth,” Sandra explains. “It was the last time he told her he loved her.”

A month later, the two were supposed to meet up for St. Patrick’s Day, but on March 7, Eddie was captured on a security camera making out with LeAnn in Laguna Beach. He changed his phone humber and coldheartedly hasn’t contacted Scheana since.

“Scheana feels betrayed,” Sandra reveals. “She feels like Eddie cheated on her, as well as his wife. She was in shock.”

Scheana – who has also hooked up with John Mayer – had no idea that Eddie had been hooking up with LeAnn since they met on set last year.

LeAnn, who, In Touch recently reported, separated from Dean in the hope of being with Eddie, will likely not be amused when she finds out about his steamy affair with Scheana.

“If you’re going to have a mistress,” Sandra insists, “only have one! Maybe he just didn’t think it would ever come back to him. Or maybe he really didn’t care if it did.”

I don’t feel any pity for this girl, or for LeAnn, or for Eddie. I feel a little twinge of something for Eddie’s wife Brandi, but really, how could she not know? Personally, I didn’t really believe the story that LeAnn wanted to leave her husband Dean for Eddie - I think LeAnn and Dean have an open marriage, but that’s just my take.

Eddie’s career is going better than ever in the wake of these scandals – the Lifetime movie he and LeAnn did had some of the best ratings ever for a cable film, and Eddie recently signed on for a new role on CSI: Miami. He also just signed on for a Hallmark Channel movie, Healing Hands. Cheaters always win, I suspect.

After last week’s revelation that the National Enquirer got the story right, and that Billy Joel and wife Katie Lee really were splitting, there were many rumors in the wake of the announcement. The rumors probably started before the official split, but now that there’s a nasty divorce on the horizon, “sources” are coming out of the woodwork. One of the many hilarious side notes is that all of the sources are going to New York publications – Long Island forever and all of that, I suppose. Billy Joel is a popular worldwide entertainer, but you can’t take away a New Yorker’s need for a divorce fought amongst the New York tabloids. First up, with have a little item in the New York Daily News, about the babies it seems neither of them wanted, that they’re now both trying to pretend they both wanted:

Another possible reason for Billy Joel’s breakup with wife Katie Lee: They couldn’t agree on when to start a family. A friend of the 60-year-old Piano Man tells us: “Billy wanted to get going now. Katie, who’s 27, wanted to focus on her career.” A friend of Katie argues, “That’s not true. If anything, it was the other way around.”

Oh, that’s the sweet spot. “If anything, it was the other way around.” Chuckle. God, I love a nasty separation/divorce when there are no innocent kids around. There’s just something so soothing about an old guy (who should have known better) and a gold-digging child-bride battling it out in the tabloids.

But what of the original reason for the split, cited by the Enquirer and the New York Daily News? That was the rumor that Katie Lee had been getting hot and heavy with 36-year-old Israeli designer Yigal Azrouel. Katie and Yigal allegedly have been carrying on an affair for a while now – but Page Six has a great scoop on Yigal. Apparently, Katie’s not the only young fashionista that hangs on Yigal’s every word. Yigal is quite a “swordsman” who has “been known to sleep with fashion editors who can help his career.” This is all because Yigal is the holy grail of fashion designers: a good-looking straight guy. According to Page Six’s sources, that alone ensures that “everyone lines up.”

KATIE Lee Joel isn’t the only comely female to be linked to Israeli fashion designer Yigal Azrouel.

Azrouel’s close relationship with the 27-year-old celebrity chef is rumored to have played a role in her breakup last week with Billy Joel, 60, after five years of marriage. Katie and Azrouel were spotted “dirty dancing” in Miami earlier this year, and a source told Page Six that Katie frequently opted to stay in the city near Azrouel instead of hanging out with her husband on Long Island.

A rep for Joel has said her relationship with Azrouel is “absolutely unrelated” to the split, but fashion insiders say Azrouel has quite the reputation as a fashion swordsman.

“He’s been known to sleep with fashion editors who can help his career,” a source told Page Six, adding that Azrouel has had relationships with higher-ups at both W magazine and the New York Times. “He loves to have women over for small, intimate dinner parties and to play video games. That’s his big thing.”

Added another source: “Obviously, there just aren’t that many straight guys in fashion. So when one comes on the scene, everyone lines up. And Yigal is very into the social element of the business, which is why he’s always photographed on Patrick McMullan’s Web site and has a store out east,” referring to his boutique in Water Mill. Azrouel was previously linked to socialite Fernanda Niven.

Back in April, Joel’s rep told us, “Yigal is a friend of Katie’s. They have collaborated on dresses for her media appearances. They worked together to create designs. It’s a simple friend-work relationship.”

Both Azrouel and Katie Lee were invited to the Whitney’s Persol Incognito Design Exhibition preview tomorrow, though she has not confirmed her attendance. Azrouel could not be reached.

I guess the point of this story was the tabloid letting Katie Lee down gently, if she had hopes of leaving “William Joel” for a dashing Israeli. Not going to happen, Katie. It’s the oldest story in the book – gold-digging child-bride meets older man of her dreams, marries old man, realizes old man is no fun, goes out to have fun with Israeli gigolo, leaves old man for Israeli gigolo, gigolo tells girl “actually, I’m seeing other people”, girl comforts herself with multimillion-dollar divorce settlement, alone and weeping. It’s the modern fairytale/cautionary tale.

Sienna Miller, who just two weeks ago told Vogue that she was, “‘really naive and trusting’” in her relationship with Balthazar Getty, is back frolicking with him once again. Nude, once again. On Father’s Day. Not a “once again” as far as I know, but still… cavorting with him while he ignores his kids and family … once again.

Sienna Miller and Balthazar Getty were spotted with one another in beautiful Positano, Italy over the weekend.

Photos snapped show a topless Miller walking on a balcony, followed by shots of an ill-looking Getty — clad in only white shorts — sitting on the balcony with an attending physician. Sienna, clad in towel, came back out and smoked a cigarette as the medic attended to Getty.

The Alfie star has a romance with the separated 34-year-old Brother And Sisters heartthrob in her past, but the pair had not been spotted together in quite some time.

On an unrelated note, we’d like to wish Getty, daddy to four kids, a happy belated fathers [sic] Day!

Sienna sure has a problem with nudity. Historically, she’s had trouble keeping her clothes on in public – but gets suing mad if the paparazzi take pictures of her. The little thing about Getty and the doctor was slightly interesting, but I think the guy’s such an ass I don’t really care. He’s just as big a jerk as Sienna – if not bigger – but she’s more famous, so she catches more crap for it. So I have a hard time feeling empathy for him, and whatever he’s got going on, it’s not bad enough to keep him from enjoying himself. And how did Radar know the other guy was a doctor? Was he wearing scrubs? Walking around with a stethoscope, pressing it against things?

I find it hard to care. I’m sure we’re supposed to all be up in arms that these two are once again seeing each other. But I think it’s no big surprise Sienna Miller is a completely self-centered bull sh*tter, and Balthazar Getty is still a cheating loser. Congrats, you make a beautiful pair.

It’s strange for a middle-class American girl – like me – to pass judgment on the British upper class. They have their own way of doing things, which I came to realize as I obsessively read about Price Charles and Princess Diana. Prince Charles’s long-standing affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles was, to me, a case study in how profoundly strange the British upper class is. Charles could have had his pick of any number of young, pretty aristocratic daughters, and was married to to one of the most beautiful women in the world. But he chose Camilla, bless his weird heart.

I bring up the Charles-Diana-Camilla dynamic because I was reminded of the weird British upper class when I read this story about Michael Gambon. Gambon is a very talented Irish actor (though a British citizen), known mostly in America for his work in the Harry Potter films and for his character work in such films as Layer Cake and Gosford Park. He’s also one of the great stage actors working today – he was even knighted by the Queen in 1998 for his services to drama. Technically speaking, I suppose he’s not really the British upper class, but the seems to be the society in which he rolls, so that’s how I think of him.

Michael Gambon has been married to his wife, now Lady Anne Gambon, since 1962. They have a son together, the 44-year-old Fergus. All of this hasn’t stopped Sir Michael from not only carrying out an affair, out in the open, but from starting a family with his mistress. His mistress is named Phillipa Hart, and she just gave birth to her second child with the 68-year-old Gambon:

Harry Potter star SIR MICHAEL GAMBON is a dad again — aged 68.

Sir Michael, who plays Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore, had the child with his mistress. His wife knows he is raising a second family and he splits his time between their two homes and a bachelor pad in London.

The baby — named William — is the second Sir Michael has had with 43-year-old set designer Philippa Hart. Their first, Michael, was born in May 2007.

The actor, also has a 44-year-old son with his wife, Lady Anne.

A family friend said: “Philippa gave birth at a London hospital without complications and little Michael is a beautiful bouncing baby. It is a very strange set of circumstances worthy of a film script in itself.”

“But Michael is open with his wife and she accepts the second relationship, though there have been rows in the past.”

Sir Michael shares a house with his wife of 45 years in Gravesend, Kent. He visits Philippa in Chiswick, South West London, “a few times a week”.

He is a private man — described by friends as “delightful” to those close to him but with a “very short temper”.

He joined the Potter films in the third instalment, The Prisoner of Azkaban, after original Dumbledore RICHARD HARRIS died.

The next film, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, is out next month.

I suppose it’s none of our business. If Lady Anne is okay with it, we should be too. But it just seems profoundly weird. If you want to live with your mistress, why not just divorce your wife and start another family? Why the whole two-family thing? The whole “he spends a few nights with his wife, then a few nights with his mistress” thing? Michael Gambon was raised a Catholic, and I wonder if he still practices to the extent where he thinks divorce is some kind of sin. In the light of his mistress giving birth to a second child, I can only guess that if that’s the case, Gambon feels he only has to adhere to the letter, not the spirit, of church doctrine.

The first part of Elizabeth Edwards’ book tour is a stop on Oprah’s couch to talk about how John lied about all of the cheating, and how Rielle Hunter (“the other woman”) is “pathetic”. Actually, all of that is from Elizabeth’s book, Resilience. When Oprah sat down with Elizabeth in the Edwards’ North Carolina home, Elizabeth refused to use Rielle’s name, only calling her “this person”.

Oprah actually had the cojones to ask Elizabeth about the rumor that John Edwards is the father of Rielle’s child, and Elizabeth actually answers! Elizabeth replied, “That’s what I understand. I’ve seen a picture of the baby. I have no idea. It doesn’t look like my children, but I don’t have any idea.” Whoa… that’s intense. Did it occur to Elizabeth to actually ask John? Or maybe she did, and he lied, or Elizabeth doesn’t know if he’s lying? Or Rielle is lying? Did it occur to anyone to get a damn blood test?

In a revealing new interview with Oprah Winfrey, Elizabeth Edwards says it’s “complicated” when asked about the state of her marriage to former presidential candidate John Edwards, who famously had an affair with videographer Rielle Hunter.

Is it a day by day thing, Winfrey asks her on Thursday’s show.

“Neither one of us is out the door,” replies Elizabeth, who is battling terminal breast cancer. “So I guess it’s day by day, but maybe it’s month by month.”

Elizabeth — who spoke to Winfrey from her family’s 28,000-square-foot home in Chapel Hill, NC — says they’re “still living together.” But when asked if she still loves her husband, she replies, “You know, that’s a complicated question.”

Looking back on their marriage, Elizabeth tells Winfrey she asked John for one gift before her wedding 31 years ago.

“I wanted him to be faithful to me,” she says. “It was enormously important to me.”‘

But, days after declaring his run for president in 2006, John confessed to his wife that he had had an affair. (The National Enquirer broke the story a year later.)

“What John said is that this woman spotted him in the hotel in which he was staying. He was meeting someone in the restaurant bar area, and she verified with someone who he worked with that it was John,” Elizabeth tells Winfrey.

“John went to dinner at a nearby restaurant and when he walked back to the hotel, she was standing in front of the hotel. She said to him, ‘You are so hot.’”

After the Enquirer broke the story, it also reported that John was the father of Hunter’s daughter (which he denied).

Asked about the speculation, Elizabeth says, “That’s what I understand. I’ve seen a picture of the baby. I have no idea. It doesn’t look like my children, but I don’t have any idea.”

Elizabeth — whose memoir Resilience is to be published May 12 — opens up more about Hunter in the June issue of O.

Choosing not to address Hunter by name, she says, “This person is very different from me, and really very different from him. We’re basically old-fashioned people. So, this was a pretty big leap for him. Maybe it’s being so different is what was attractive.”

Asked about her own mortality, Elizabeth says it’s not “frightening,” but she prays for an “ever-after.”

“I would be leaving part of my family, but I can do [that] and join another party and wait for that day when we’re all together again,” she says. “In some ways, it’s something you yearn for.”

The situation for disgraced former presidential candidate John Edwards is really starting to get sticky. It’s not clear what Mrs. Edwards will be talking about, but Rielle Hunter is prepared to respond to any potential remarks by making an appearance of he own in an exclusive interview with Diane Sawyer or Barbara Walters.

John Edwards’ mistress Rielle Hunter is “ready for her close-up” with her first national TV interview since the cheating scandal wrecked his career, The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively.

In a startling change of heart, Rielle Hunter has decided to face the cameras and has narrowed her choice of interviewer to either “ABC News” correspondents Diane Sawyer or Barbara Walters, say sources.

“Rielle had previously assured John she wasn’t going to spill the beans,” said a close source. “But she’s changed her tune after thinking Elizabeth Edwards might disparage her in the upcoming interview she’s already taped with Oprah Winfrey.

“The interview will be broadcast in mid-May to coincide with the publication of Elizabeth’s new book in which she’s likely to address the affair.”

As a result, a behind-the-scenes war of words is breaking out between Rielle and Elizabeth.

“Rielle’s decided she’s not going to sit back while Edwards’ wife gives her side of the story,” said the close source. “As much as John hates it, he’s defenseless to stop either woman from saying what she wants. It’s now erupted into a war between his wife and his former mistress over who will have the last word in what could be dueling TV interviews.”

Rielle intensified talks with the ABC superstars in early April in preparation for going in front of the cameras.

“No deal is done, but Rielle seems to favor Barbara Walters over Diane because Barbara admitted recently she engaged in a long-ago affair,” said the close source. “This makes Rielle believe Barbara will show her more compassion than Diane would.”

Following a series of world exclusive Enquirer exposes, the former presidential candidate finally admitted to the affair last summer – after our reporters caught the ex-senator visiting Rielle and her baby in a Beverly Hills hotel.

Both Edwards and Rielle have publicly maintained that Edwards is not the father.

Rielle claimed that the father is Andrew Young, a married Edwards crony. But we’ve reported that Rielle has privately told close friends that she never had a sexual relationship with Young – and has confided that Edwards is really the baby’s father.

Between his wife doing Oprah and his mistress doing ABC news, John Edwards’ head must be about to explode. And I say, serves him right! This jerk thought he could get away with cheating on his terminally ill wife AND fathering a child with that mistress. He admitted in that interview last year that not only did he cheat, but he is a narcissist. Damn right. I don’t really have any interest in hearing what this Rielle person has to say. She’s just as bad as he is. It’s not like she didn’t know what she was getting herself into with Edwards. The person I’d love to hear from is Elizabeth – although it seems like she has chosen to stand by her man- even though he’s a total scum bag.
