I don’t know whether I buy this story at all, but here comes the next chapter in the great Johnny Depp and Amber Heard romantic saga. These two worked together on The Rum Diary a few years ago and made eyes at each other on the publicity tour last summer, but they only made their official couple debut earlier this month at a Rolling Stones concert. Then we covered a Star story that discussed how Amber had really pushed hard for a public outing and even left Johnny when he refused to budge, so he begged her to come back. In the end, they supposedly waited so long to protect Vanessa Paradis’ feelings, which leads me to at least conclude that there might have been some overlap between Johnny’s two ladies.

Now there’s a new story that has originated in the latest issue of OK! magazine and is being run by Entertainmentwise, which supplies further details about Johnny and Amber’s “secret engagement.” (Note that Entertainmentwise credits this story to the National Enquirer, but other sources claim it’s in OK! It’s not in the new Enquirer.) Supposedly, Johnny put a patchouli ring on it, and he and Amber are waiting until the end of the year to make the big announcement. Is this actually going to happen?

Johnny Depp is rumoured to have got down on bended knee and secretly proposed to his girlfriend Amber Heard, according to a new report.

It’s been claimed by sources that the hot Hollywood couple have gotten engaged after Pirate of The Caribbean star Johnny popped the question on his 27-year-old beau’s birthday.

“He proposed on her birthday [April 22],” an insider told the National Enquirer.

The couple met when they filmed The Rum Diaries together in 2011 and have been dating on and off ever since, following Johnny’s split from long-term partner Vanessa Paradis.

Despite the massive step in their relationship, insiders say they intend to keep schtum on the news until the end of the year – but in the mean time the love-struck have apparently already started looking for a love nest to share together.

“They’re not announcing it until the end of the year, but she and Johnny are now on the hunt for a vintage one-of-a-kind ring.”

The couple were recently spotted holding hands at a Rolling Stones concert last month and it seems the show of affection along with the proposal could be down to the blonde actress demanding more commitment from the 49-year-old actor.

“She gave him an ultimatum, no woman wants to be someone’s dirty secret. A few months ago she took off to Paris and started dating French model Marie de Villepin. He offered her everything, even marriage, to come back,” the source explained.

“That was exactly what Amber wanted – for the world to know they’re together and for Johnny to put a ring on it. She’s had a crush on him since she was a teenager, so this is a dream come true!”

So do you believe this story? It kind of sounds like OK! was just making sh-t up because the Johnny and Amber romance was big news a few weeks ago, and an engagement would only sell more copy. However, I really don’t think Johnny is the marrying type at all. Clearly, he’s gaga over Amber and is embarrassing himself royally as a 49-year-old dude by falling for a 20-something blonde. Still, he and Winona Ryder were engaged but never made it to the altar; then Johnny was with Kate Moss for years; and finally, he stuck with Vanessa for over a decade without ever even thinking of marriage. At this point, he’d be dumb to jeopardize his fortune by marrying such a hot young thing like Amber.

I have literally no idea what Taylor Swift’s Met Gala look was all about, or what she was trying to achieve or whatever. Swifty wore one of her favorite designers, J. Mendel. And as such, she looked like she always looks, because she always wears J.Mendel on red carpets. We’ve seen versions of this dress on her a million times before. I guess that’s why Swifty tried to mess it up a bit with her hair and makeup? Her hair – which is naturally curly – looks crimped. And her makeup doesn’t work, I don’t think. I just think this whole look is a FAIL. Also: did she get her bolt-ons taken out?!!?

Amber Heard in Emilio Pucci – God, I just hate everything about this. Amber is actually a pretty woman with a great figure, and she can pull off lots of different kinds of looks. She could have done “punk” really well. But she chose this fussy, lace dress that covers her figure and blends in perfectly with the carpet. It’s terrible. It ages her. It’s just an ugly dress. And her hair is bad too.

Emilia Clarke in Ralph Lauren. She looks beautiful, she looks like a bombshell. I wish she would show up to, like, the Golden Globes like this. Because I think it’s wasted on the Met Gala. She doesn’t look right for the event at all. But does she get some points for looking pretty in general?

On Monday, we covered the story that Johnny Depp (49) and Amber Heard (27) finally put a public face on their long-rumored romance by holding hands at a Rolling Stones concert. So they’re an official couple now, and the Enquirer had just only predicted a few days beforehand that they would soon step out together because Amber was pressuring Johnny to go public with their relationship.

I still can’t believe either of them would go there. Johnny has always had relationship with iconic women whose public profiles matched his own, and now he’s with a run-of-the-mill blonde with big boobs and a pretty smile. As for Amber, I’d like to think she can do better than a sold-out rebel who accessorizes like nobody’s business but still looks like he hasn’t bathed in a few months and is wallowing in his own mid-life crisis. Yet here they are, and it seems that all of the gossip was true. Here are the details according to Star on why it took so long for Johnny to introduce Amber as his lady:

It’s true! Johnny Depp and Amber heard finally revealed that they’re dating, enjoying a very romantic and public night out on April 27 when the stunning couple canoodled in front of hundreds at the Rolling Stones concert at the Echoplex in Los Angeles. “Johnny was very protective of her; there were so many people there, and he kept as close to her as possible,” an eyewitness tells Star. “They whispered to each other a lot and laughed. He was obviously smitten, touching Amber affectionately and giving her soft kisses on her neck while they listened to the band. It was really sweet!”

In the summer of 2012, Johnny, 49, broke up with Vanessa Paradis after a 14-year relationship, while Amber, 27, recently split from female photographer Tasya Van Ree. “Johnny has been crazy about Amber for more than a year — but he was concerned about hurting his ex and his children, so he didn’t want any media attention,” explains a friend. “Amber, meanwhile, has been playing hard to get. She cozied up to other women, which made Johnny a wreck. Now they both seem open to taking the next step in their relationship as one of hte hottest couples in Hollywood.”

This week’s issue of In Touch adds more to the equation: “They are serious. They have been for a long time.” The timeline for this romance is incredibly sketchy, right? Amber and Johnny were done filming The Rum Diary long before summer 2012 when he and Vanessa broke things off. I don’t know whether or not Johnny and Vanessa were already on the rocks when Amber “captured his heart,” but it’s all a bit suspect to me. If this young blonde thing is the real reason that Johnny decided to pull the plug on his long-term relationship that spawned two children, then he’s a damn fool. Honestly, I have a bad feeling about this one. Johnny’s gonna get hurt. Amber’s going to do the dumping, and he’s going to get badly hurt. And we’ll all have a hard time not saying, “I told you so.”

Here’s Johnny on the set of his upcoming film, Transcendence, on Monday. He’s back to shorter hair again, and he probably also showered for the occasion, yay!

On Friday, we covered an Enquirer story that pushed the theory of Winona Ryder
really wanting to hook up with her long-time ex (of two decades!), Johnny Depp. That didn’t seem like the worst idea in the world (for entertainment purposes), but sadly, the story also included details of Johnny (49) being totally enamored with Amber Heard (27), his co-star from last year’s abysmal Rum Diary movie. Details further held that Amber had already left Johnny once and only returned after he promised to go public with their romance.

Supposedly, Amber and Johnny had a hot fling last summer, and the prevaling theory was that Johnny was more into her than she was with him. I sort of think that Amber realizes how much Johnny digs her, and she’s using it to her advantage to get what she wants. She wanted a public outing, and she got one this past weekend. While the Enquirer predicted that their first “official couple” pap walk would occur either at the Kentucky Derby or at The Lone Ranger premiere this July, Johnny made it happen faster (presumably) to keep his lady happy. That is, Amber and Johnny were photographed holding hands at the Rolling Stones concert in LA on Saturday night. We don’t have the pictures, but you can see them here.

Unfortunately, this pretty much quashes any hopes of a Wino Forever reunion, but it also means that all of the endless tabloid stories about Amber and Johnny were true all along. And maybe people will finally stop saying that Johnny and Vanessa Paradis broke up their family because of the nefarious influence of Angelina Jolie. Too much to ask for? Probably.

This story could actually be a bit of creative fanfiction, but I think some of you will appreciate it regardless of its veracity or lack thereof. In the past few months, Winona Ryder has been featured on this website and not only invoked nostalgia but also expressed enthusiasm for growing older and ushered in our near-collective appreciation for 1990s dark velvet. Now that Winona has recaptured our hearts and set about reclaiming her rightful place in Hollywood, she’s also allegedly looking to hook back up with a very old flame …. none other than Johnny Depp!

Now I’m not crazy about Johnny these days, but I can freely admit that he was once a terribly attractive and enigmatic man. Now I just see him as an overaccessorized dude in the midst of a mid-life crisis who also looks like he smells perfectly awful. Back in the day though, Johnny was hot. He was hot when he was with Kate Moss, and he was hot when he was with Winona Ryder. So maybe he could regain some hotness by getting back with Wino Forever? Not so fast. The Enquirer says that Johnny is still “blinded by love” for “bisexual free spirit” Amber Heard, and they’re preparing to actually go public with their romance soon. Maybe:

In TinselTown’s latest love triangle, Amber has demanded Depp take their romance public, while Winona is secretly plotting to win him back, sources say. “Amber has hit Johnny with an ultimatum: ‘Go public with our romance — or it’s over!’” a close friend told the Enquirer. “Meantime, Winona is doing everything she can to orchestrate a hook-up with Johnny!”

“Amber has been at Johnny to go public since the beginning of the year,” said the source. “When he balked, she walked out on him and went back to [her lesbian lover] Tasya, and Johnny totally freaked out! Amber’s become the major organizer of his crazy world and he couldn’t cope without her.

He bombarded Amber with calls and gifts, and even wrote her a song, begging her to come back. But she stood her ground until he relented to go public.” Now Depp is considering appearing with Amber at the Kentucky Derby, or the premiere of his film, The Lone Ranger in July, sources say.

Meanwhile, it’s been 20 years since Depp and Winona, 41, ended their rocky relationship, but she still holds a torch for him, sources say. The two met at the 1989 premiere of Great Balls of Fire, and got engaged the following year while filming director Tim Burton’s hit Edward Scissorhands. A smitten Depp had “Winona Forever” tattooed on his arm, but changed the tattoo to “Wino Forever” after their bitter 1993 split.

“In hindsight, Winona realizes that she and Johnny were too young and immature to make their romance work,” a source told the Enquirer. “But now that they’re both 20 years older and wiser, Winona believes there’s hope they can rekindle their romance. She’s even dropped hints to their mutual friend, Tim Burton, about arranging a date or even developing a film project for them.”

Another source added: “Both Winona and Amber are crazy about Johnny, and they both know that being by his side would help their careers.”

Aww, poor Winona. She hasn’t really had a big, all-encompassing love ever since she and Johnny broke up, right? I mean, she dated around, and Winona got a lot of crap for dating Dave Pirner of Soul Asylum in the mid 1990s, but otherwise, she’s been pretty low key. Maybe she’s been biding her time all along in wait for Johnny. Hopefully and if they do hook up, Johnny will bother to shower and shave for her so they can go at it like old times.

It’s easy to forget that there was quite a lot of drama involving Johnny Depp this year. After months of rumors, Johnny and Vanessa Paradis finally announced their split, and Johnny was widely reported to have a wandering eye for several different ladies, including randoms, his publicist AND Amber Heard. The rumors about Johnny and Amber really stuck around, and I tend to believe that they had a brief but intense relationship which ended over the summer, and then they picked it up again a few months ago. I also believe that they are probably both seeing other people, but they keep coming back to each other for a reason (the reason = banging). But Radar has a theory as to what is REALLY going on:

As we previously reported, the genetically blessed pair has been hanging out — and hooking up — with one another since Depp split from his long-time love, French model and singer, Vanessa Paradis. However, despite Johnny’s wishes to the contrary, they are far from being in a committed relationship.

Depp, 49, is besotted with the 26-year-old actress and would love nothing more than to take things to the next level, but Heard has been keeping him at arm’s length, telling him she could never settle down full time with a guy and that her preference is for girls!

A second source said that at a Gucci party in October, Amber was “telling people they were officially together.” But a source close to the situation tells Radar that despite their flirtatious ways and obvious chemistry, Johnny and Amber aren’t officially together.

“They’re both busy with other projects, and nothing is set in stone between them,” the source says.

Eh. I could actually buy this. I think in Johnny’s mind, he’s the only one who gets to fool around under the guise of a “mid-life crisis” and he expects to be the shot-caller in the relationship. And Amber has played him, and continues to play him, because Johnny is at that age when young women can effectively “play” him. Amber Heard: Baller? Yeah… I still don’t know if I buy that in the larger sense, though. I think she’s just manipulating HIM because he’s into it, I don’t know if she’s in “magical vagina” territory quite yet.

I continue to be surprised by the fact that all of the tabloids – save for People Mag, I guess – are running stories about Amber Heard and Johnny Depp and how they’re either back on or how they never even split up. I’ve said before, and I still believe: I think Depp and Heard really did take a break over the summer and only recently got back in touch and started something up again. I think they both realized they were getting bad press with their “out of nowhere” intensity and romance, so they decided to cool it down and return for more later. Later happened, and now they’re going strong? Perhaps. Last week, the tabs claimed that Johnny was “blinded by love” for crazy hippie-dippy free spirit bisexual Amber, and this week Us Weekly is saying that Johnny has even TOLD Amber that he loves her. *clutches multiple scarves*

Radar says the same thing, and they’re doubling-down on their earlier reporting – a source says Johnny and Amber “were definitely involved” in the beginning of the summer and “They definitely had chemistry that carried over from the set. Amber quietly split from Tasya around the same time Johnny was secretly separated from Vanessa, so the timing was just right.”

So, do you believe that Amber and Johnny are “in love” or as close to that as they can get? Sure. I’ll buy that. I think they’re pretty much together at this point, but it will be interesting to see how they play it – will there be a late-night photo-op exiting some club? Or will Johnny officially debut his new girl on a red carpet?

Last week, Page Six ran an interesting story – they claimed that Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are either STILL on or back on. Page Six seemed to think that they were still on, while I tend to think they are back on. The difference being that I kind of thought Amber called it off with Johnny over the summer when it looked like the tabloids were trying to make her into the next Angelina Jolie or something – I mean, Amber is bisexual, a “free spirit” and reportedly she and Depp began their affair when he was still very much with Vanessa Paradis. So, I think Amber took a step back for a little while and now she and Depp have started up again. But! Star Magazine claims that Amber is still playing games with Johnny because she’s still seeing her ex-girlfriend too!

Johnny Depp’s ongoing affair with Amber Heard may look like a textbook midlife crisis, but friends of the heartthrob warn that it’s actually something much worse – they think he’s being used by the bisexual actress. It’s been only five months since Johnny split from Vanessa Paradis, his partner of 14 years and mother of his two children, to pursue Amber. But pals says he’s already angling for marriage and kids with Amber!

Is it possible that Johnny Depp, a 49-year-old A-list movie star, is being played by 26-year-old C-lister whose most recent credit was the failed Eddie Cibrian vehicle The Playboy Club? Eh. I don’t think Depp is some innocent flower, some victim of Amber’s obviously wicked bisexual ways. Amber is not The Leg:Texas Style. That being said, I think Amber is still seeing Tasya. And Amber probably runs to Johnny when he calls too. Nothing wrong with that – my guess is that he’s seeing other women too.

Over the summer, I became enchanted by the too-simple narrative that Johnny Depp had engaged in some kind of torrid affair with Amber Heard, then left his partner Vanessa Paradis, then started up a real relationship-thing with Amber, all while she was going back and forth from her on-again, off-again lesbian lover. Okay, so maybe that narrative wasn’t so simple. As we increasingly observed, it was even more complicated than that too – Johnny was possibly screwing around with multiple women, one of whom might have even been his publicist (and she still is his publicist). Also, Amber seemed to distance herself from Johnny in a hurry when it looked like she was going to be labeled a “homewrecker”. Whatever happened between Amber and Johnny, it seemed to be “over” in July. Maybe they just needed some distance, some time, some breathing room. And maybe after they got that, they still wanted to bone. Page Six reported yesterday that Johnny and Amber were spotted together in LA:

As we saw from photos of Tasya van Ree, she could easily pass for Johnny Depp in a dark nightclub. I’m just sayin’. Amber has a type, and it’s beautiful/androgynous dark-haired artist-poet types who wear too many scarves and jewelry. So just keep that in mind… it seriously could have been Tasya. Or it could have been Johnny Depp. Because why not? I’ll believe anything about him these days.

By and far, the name of the evening for the LAMCA Art + Film event was Gucci. Keeping with the theme of the evening, Amber Heard wore a black Gucci dress with matching, open-toed, multi-strapped Gucci Lisbeth pumps, and the dress itself wasn’t bad at all. It was very figure-flattering, and Amber pulled the short length and sleeveless aspect off well. Now as for that “statement” necklace around her neck, I just don’t know what she was thinking. I suppose it fancies things up quite a bit with what would have otherwise been just another little black dress, right?

Amber is a gorgeous woman, and even though I’m still getting used to her with dark hair (for her role in Paranoia), she has a great presence on the red carpet. She definitely made a good choice going with an updo and bold lipstick (with matching nails) for this dress. Still not sure about that necklace though. I think if it had been missing those little “fans” at the top, it would have been okay. As it stands, the necklace is far too much of a “statement” piece.

Minka Kelly and Chris Evans both attended the event but walked the red carpet separately. Minka has certainly been embracing the maxi-dress trend lately, hasn’t she? Girl’s got such a great figure, and I’ve got no idea why she’s hiding it (cue vicious pregnancy rumors?), but this particular maxi dress is Gucci as well. She also avoided giving sideboob in manner of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Good for Minka.

Florence Welch loves her weird ass fashion, and Gucci was able to fit the bill here with this blue-violet, chiffon gown. This is a very severe look, but Florence is not a subtle woman by any stretch. Her hair and makeup are appropriate(ly weird) too, but I would have added a simple and sparkly necklace to complete the look.

Jeremy Renner was there too, bitches. He looked exactly like he always does at an event, but I’m not complaining.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were also in attendance! I don’t know who designed this spangly, shapeless, sleeveless, grey dress, but I’m guessing it was Gucci as well. Rita looks like she’s having a great time, but I can’t believe she’s gone ombre. Some subtle, all-around highlights would have made her hair look excellent. Her foundation/powder is also a bit too pale for her skintone, so she seems a bit ghostly.
