Supposedly Amy Winehouse is making another attempt at rehab. It’s hard to get psyched up on her behalf anymore. I’ve lost count of how many times she’s gone in the last year. And after every time she rallies she seems to fall even harder than before. And enjoy it more. I mean the girl really seems to relish all the attention she gets for being a major f*** up. That’s really the only way I can put it at this point.

According to the Sun, Amy is going to Israel for some novel approach to rehab. It’s based on one doctor’s belief that addiction is a neurological problem, not a psychological or social one. The details are vague, but he claims it cures everyone of addiction. Which makes me pretty darn skeptical.

Amy Winehouse will fly to Israel in a bid to beat her drug addiction, according to the chairman of the country’s Anti-Drug Authority. Eliezer Cohen says the Ivor Novello Award winning singer will undergo a “very short, intensive and effective treatment” costing £6,400.

He told the Jewish Chronicle: “Amy’s people spoke to a renowned Israeli institution and an Israeli professor who conducts a very special and effective method. She has requested to come to him to do this method, since it’s a method that is suitable for her.”

Andre Waismann, who will treat Amy, said: “All of my patients are discharged healthy and no longer dependent. There is a misunderstanding about drug addiction. People think it is a social and psychological problem, but it’s a neurological problem.

“Whether it’s Amy Winehouse or anyone else, it is a privilege to be able to treat anyone who is opiate-dependent, and allow them to live a normal life.”

So I’m guessing doctors don’t stress confidentiality so much in Israel? There are a lot of theories as to the origins of addiction, and even more ideas about the best way to treat it. It sounds like Amy’s family must be getting pretty desperate if they’re willing to send her so far away to get help. There are some pretty novel approaches to treating addicts, and it seems like at this point Amy should try just about anything that might work. Even just fewer drugs would be nice. What low expectations.

Amy won a prestigious the Ivor Novello Award last night for her songwriting. She showed up late to the ceremony and her father Mitch had to accept the award on her behalf. Though the fact that Amy showed up at all is impressive.

I didn’t learn this until recently, but it is legally possible for one adult to adopt another adult. There are all sorts of reasons people do this: to will rent-controlled apartments, to circumvent laws, etc. But it happens. As such, I will be petitioning Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to adopt me. We already know they’re into adoption. We know they like to adopt in unconventional ways – no common American babies for them. What would cause more of a stir than adopting an adult? Nothing. And I am now damn sure they’ve got the money. And compared to what they’re spending on their other kids, I am a relative bargain.

Brad and Angie have set aside $20 million for the birthing expenses of their twins, according to Life & Style.

Angelina Jolie had been keeping a low profile in recent weeks. And she and Brad, 44, are clearly willing to do — and spend — anything to bring them into the world secure and healthy. In fact, insiders estimate Brad and Angie will spend at least $20 million in France on security, medical costs and shelter for their growing brood.

“Brad and Angelina love all their children and will do everything to protect them and keep them healthy,” says an insider. “Money is no object when it comes to the kids.” That’s true when it comes to the twins as well. “They can drop thousands of dollars on them in a day,” says the insider. “They’d do anything for them.”

I’m sure a large amount of their money goes to security – and one would think the nine cars are a part of that. Can you imagine having a helicopter on call for your birth? At this point, why not just have a hospital built next to your house? I mean they’re spending so much as it is. That’s the only thing more dramatic than a helicopter.

Life & Style points out how happy Angelina has seemed in the last few weeks, and that’s very true. It’s easy to forget she used to be such a dark character. She’s been beaming from ear to ear, despite carrying around 2 fetuses that look bigger than she does. At $10 million a kid, those are two lucky babies.

To me, nothing says romance quite like fish and chips. But I’m from the Pacific Northwest, and we have a different way of viewing the goodness of the ocean. I’m assuming that to the rest of the world, battered and fried cod doesn’t make hearts flutter. However Amy Winehouse seems to think fish and chips is pretty much the perfect meal to celebrate her first wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, it was takeout. For one. Eaten alone. I don’t need any other short sentences to prove my pathetic point here do I?

Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil celebrated one year of wedding bliss on Sunday. Though it’s really more like a six month anniversary… since Blake’s been in jail for over half the amount of time they’ve been married. I know, stop fanning yourselves at their romance.

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse marked her first wedding anniversary to Blake Fielder-Civil with a lonely fish and chip supper after visiting her husband in prison. The couple spent their anniversary apart on Sunday after Amy chose to join troubled rocker Pete Doherty at a charity football tournament in south east London.

After missing a prison visit on Friday due to the traffic, Amy abandoned her usual scruffy clothes and dressed up in a pencil skirt and v-neck black top as she dropped by Pentonville Prison for a belated anniversary meeting. Amy usually visits Blake in a pair of high-heels, but opted for her signature ballet bumps for the afternoon trip.

The troubled singer, 24, paid tribute to her husband by placing a cushioned heart with the name Blake splashed across it in her famous beehive. After marking their first year as husband and wife in the visiting room of Pentonville in north London, Amy left the prison beaming to photographers.

She stopped off at a local fish and chip for a greasy supper-for-one, which she sadly wasn’t able to share with her husband.

Nothing says love like fish grease. And from the last time I had fish and chips in London, the ratio of grease to fish was 3:2. Both the Daily Mail and People reported that Amy appeared to be in very good spirits, especially after returning from visiting Blake on Monday. He must have seen the YouTube video she made with Pete Doherty and some baby mice, asking him not to divorce her. Such a romantic gesture was bound to touch even the emptiest of hearts.

Who knew that would be so effective? I wish I could go back in time to my own parents’ divorce and have one of them talk to the other through baby rodents. I hope marriage counselors adopt this most successful tactic. Or just keep both parties on drugs, since I’m guessing that’s the real reason for most of Amy’s behavior the last few days. Amy Winehouse and Pete Doherty posted a strange video under Pete’s YouTube account. They’re handling day-old baby mice, which is a definite no-no because the mother may smell a strange scent on the mice and reject them. (Compared to making your cat smoke crack it’s a minor transgression.)

In a weird angle in a blue-lit room, they hold the mice up to the camera, the tiny creatures wriggling on their dirty fingernails and hands.

Amy then uses one of the newborn mice to tell her incarcerated husband, Blake, not to divorce her:

Winehouse then picks up one of the mice, holds it up to the camera, and says (via the mouse): “This one’s got a message for Blake… Blake, please don’t divorce mummy….. she loves you ever so.”

Her partner in ‘crime’, and some say possible lover, is then heard saying, “If you do divorce her, you’ll have me to deal with.”

“Yeah, he’s right, if you divorce me, you’ll have me to deal with. I’m only a day old, but I know what love is,” says Wino, still holding the mouse.

Amy and Pete had another video up yesterday under his account which has since been removed. The Sun saved it for prosperity though. Pete talks in a French accent while Amy manhandles a baby mouse. She holds up a kitten and makes it wave. Both Pete and Amy look incredibly messed up.

If I had ever done a drug stronger than Aleve, I’d want to move to the UK. Because it turns out that in Brittan, apparently you can do most hard drugs in a pretty obvious manner and not get in trouble for it. You can have a video released, be caught by the police, arrested, questioned, etc – and still walk out of the jail within a day with no further repercussions. And you can do it many, many times. The best example of this (in terms of frequency) is Pete Doherty. But Amy Winehouse is doing her best to compete with him, in what appears to be a good-natured, drug addict rivalry.

Amy was videotaped smoking crack after popping six Valium. Did anything happen to her? Nope.

British police will take no legal action against Grammy-award-winning singer Amy Winehouse, who was arrested last week for drug offenses, her spokeswoman said Thursday. Amy Winehouse has a history of run-ins with police.

“They have now concluded their enquiries and no charges will be brought,” according to a statement from her publicist, Tracey Miller.

She was questioned by police last Wednesday, arrested for alleged possession of a controlled drug, and released on unconditional bail a day later.

Amy’s spokesman (apparently she needs both a spokesman and a publicist) also goes on to say how excited she is for her planned summer concerts.

Chris Goodman said police had finished their investigation and confirmed no charges would be brought against the 24-year-old singer.

“Amy is pleased to be able to move on and concentrate on music and particularly looks forward to seeing her fans again at eagerly awaited festival performances this summer,” he said in a statement.

It’s not like I want to see a person go to jail for a crime that only hurts themselves. But every time Amy is shown that the rules don’t apply to her, there is even less incentive for her to clean up her life. The whole, “What if I get caught?” thing clearly doesn’t even enter her mind.

During Amy’s last round of concerts she developed the reputation of canceling at a prolific rate. I swear at one point it was nearly four out of five concerts. Considering she can’t even get work done in the studio anymore, it seems like her concert promoter is really overestimating her. As out of it as she was last time around, Amy’s sunk a lot further now. If people go to her shows, something tells me it’s just to watch a train wreck, not because anyone expects a good performance.

These two are probably just friends who have multiple arrests, music, nationality and a love of drugs in common, but look how the two drunken singers are hanging onto each other outside of Amy’s house. She has an opening for a new leech after her husband, Blake Fielder Civil, took up with a blond ex girlfriend who started visiting him in prison. She’s been auditioning various guys these past few weeks, and Doherty seems just her type unfortunately.

Amy and Pete were seen in a half-hearted hug or trying to keep each other from falling flat on their faces back at her place after a gig by Pete’s band, Babyshambles. Judging from their hug, they’re probably just friends, and they’re both pictured with other people that night. They look like they could be brother and sister.

NME reports that Pete Doherty and Amy Winehouse are rumored to be recording a single duet to come out this summer. That can only increase his credibility and diminish hers:

According to the Daily Star Doherty’s Babyshambles bandmate, Mik Whitnall, has held a series of songwriting sessions with Winehouse in preparation for a single release this summer.

The newspaper claims that the supposed single will also feature on the next Babyshambles album, and that Doherty said: “Mick and Amy have a great relationship. They have been working on material while I was in prison.

“When I came out I went straight to the recording studio. I just want to get going.”

Producer Mark Ronson recently revealed that Amy won’t be recording the theme song for the upcoming Bond movie because she’s just not ready to work at this point. I hope for Amy’s sake this Pete Doherty duet story is fake, because she should be focusing on her own music at this point.

There’s someone else who is disappointed that Winehouse won’t be featured on the soundtrack for the Bond film Quantum of Solace. Bond Star Daniel Craig is quoted as saying “she’s got an amazing voice and it think it would lend itself beautifully to this but we’ll see.”

In related Winehouse news that we didn’t get to because there are just too many stories about her, one of her male friends was arrested in her garage on Monday night. Kristian Marr went to visit her at home, and when she wasn’t there he holed up in her garage for the night. The police came and had him ejected.

I’m guessing most drivers can be accused of a bit of road rage now and then. Before I moved to New York, I found screaming really, really helped. And when it would bother my passengers, I’d explain that it was really the most polite thing I could do, because the alternative was to chase the *$%#@* down and assault him. So really I was showing the utmost restraint and decorum.

And while a lot of people have their own little coping mechanisms for the frustrations of the road, very few of us get out of our cars and wander about the highway during an infuriatingly long traffic jam. But I’m also guessing that very few of us are hopped up on a myriad of illicit substances: and those are two things that set us apart from Amy Winehouse.

When Amy Winehouse gets stuck in a traffic jam, she gets out of her car and saunters about in exasperation, displaying all sorts of bizarre behaviors for the paparazzi to eagerly snap.

Where Amy Winehouse goes, chaos follows. The troubled star caused something of a spectacle on the M40 today after she found herself stuck in a traffic jam.

Not content to sit patiently in her car, the Rehab singer roamed the motorway, giving drivers more than they bargained for as she went from car to car in an effort to scrounge a lighter for her cigarette to pass the time.

At one point she pulled up her purple vest to bare her midriff as she did a spot of sun baking while leaning on the bonnet of a car.

In a troubling sign, the 24-year-old’s arms were covered in fresh scratches and cigarette burns, thought to be the result of self-harming.

That’s nice of the Daily Mail to insinuate that Amy was just trying to get a bit of healthy color on her deathly white stomach, but that doesn’t appear to be what she’s doing. From the expressions on her face, I’m pretty sure she’s hallucinating, and likely trying to ward off some demon spirit she thinks she sees by blinding them with the brightest of white lights.

I used to optimistically hypothesize that Amy Winehouse’s life was getting better, if for no other reason than the fact that she had stopped roaming the streets of London at three in the morning in bloody ballet slippers. Well if possible her life is in even bigger shambles now than it was last summer.

Amy’s had multiple arrests in just a few short weeks, and seems to have given up even trying. You could easily ask yourself, “Wait, she was trying before?” Well, I mean trying for Amy Winehouse. I mean the woman actually spent a day sans beehive. That’s got to be indicative of some type of deep identity crisis or a form of psychosis for her.

After being formally arrested in London yesterday for her legendary performance on her crack video, Amy proceeded to wander around London at four in the morning. She took a jaunt over to a gas station to load up on some healthy snacks, chatted with photographers, and queried them as to what her next tattoo should be. You know, just like all normal celebrities.

If Amy Winehouse was at all concerned about her second arrest in as many weeks, it certainly didn’t show as she roamed the streets 4am this morning.

The troubled singer left her Camden home in the early hours to dash to a petrol station where she collected supplies including magazines and drinks, chatting happily to photographers during her outing.

With her trademark beehive wrapped up in a red bandanna with her husband’s name emblazoned on it, the ever-erratic singer asked the paparazzi for suggestions for a new tattoo.

It was just hours after she visited a London police station by appointment yesterday afternoon before being arrested for possession of Class A drugs and later released on bail.

I really hate to say it, but it seems like Amy is on the absolute brink. To say she’s spiraled out of control is such a massive understatement. And while you never ever want to acknowledge that someone could do some serious harm to themselves, it seems like Amy is just a step or two away from total destruction.

Though she’s certainly gone through hard times before, you would hear a lot about her family – especially her father – at least trying to help her, however unsuccessfully. It showed that she had some form of emotional support. Now you hardly hear a word about them, which makes you wonder who Amy’s got left to rely on. Someone needs to look out for her – clearly she can’t do it for herself.

Amy Winehouse is getting to be like Pete Doherty. It’s really difficult, if not impossible, to keep up with what she’s accused of and what she’s being arrested for. I saw the latest story that she’s been arrested, and thought that it must be mistaken, because wasn’t she just arrested like last week? It was a week and a half ago, I see, and she was arrested (or went in voluntarily, depending on who you believe) for an incident in which witnesses claim she hauled off and headbutted a guy outside a bar. She was also said to have smoked drugs on the sidewalk and to have deliberately knocked over tables and drinks in the pub. Police let her off with a caution for assault, which means it goes on her record or something but is not an official charge.

Now she’s finally been arrested for the video of her smoking crack that was published on The Sun’s website back on January 22. The next day reports came out that the video was turned over to police, so why did it take them over three months to finally call her in?

Just like the last time she was arrested, her rep is trying to spin it like it was “voluntary”:

“Amy Winehouse voluntarily attended a London police station today by appointment,” her rep said in a statement. “She was arrested in order to be interviewed and is co-operating fully with inquiries. The interview relates to a video handed to police earlier this year.”

It’s doubtful that the police will do much to Amy for the drug-taking video as it’s hard to prove what exactly she was smoking. Amy’s music career is already in jeopardy, with her producer Mark Ronson saying “I’m not sure Amy is ready to work on music yet” and admitting that they weren’t able to finish the lead track for the new James Bond film. What will it take to get her to clean up?

She has a lot of demons to distract her. The Sun reported this weekend that her jailed husband, Blake, was plotting with his new girlfriend to try and extort money from Amy. He is said to be demanding a $6 million divorce settlement.

Amy Winehouse’s life has spun so completely out of control that she’s no longer able to work on her music anymore. At least if you ask her longtime producer and friend Mark Ronson. He worked on her Grammy-winning album “Back to Black,” and the pair had been in the studio off and on for the last month or so, trying to record the theme to the upcoming James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace. However Mark had to scrap the plans, saying that Amy isn’t able to record music anymore.

Mark, 32, said: “We did work on it but we never finished it. I don’t think it will happen unless by some miracle it gets recorded and someone sings on it. I’m not sure Amy is ready to work on music yet.” The pair began collaborating on the track at Mark’s studio in Henley, Oxfordshire, last month but their sessions soon deteriorated.

Amy is upset that Mark, a key figure in her career who masterminded her second album Back To Black, has spoken publicly about their problems. And pals fear the rift will have long-term consequences for the troubled 24-year-old. One said: “Mark has always had a really good influence on Amy. He brought out the best in her and cared for her on a personal level.

“On a professional level he seems to be the only person who can get her into the studio. Without him encouraging her we’re worried.”

Amy’s spokesman said: “Mark presented a track to Amy, but she had other ideas about the direction it should take. We’re sure they will continue to make great music together.”

Everything else in Amy’s life has fallen apart. Until this most recent development, the only thing you could say Amy had going for herself was that at least she still had her music. Now that that’s no longer true… how much further does she have to fall before she officially reaches “rock bottom?” I’m not sure what’s left to get her to that point, except for more of the same.

When you list the things that normally bring a person to some sort of realization that things need to change, you normally think of things like overdoses, hospitalizations, fights, arrests, losing connections with family – all things Amy has gone through multiple times. Aside from the very worst, what else is left to happen here?
