Ashlee Simpson is out and proud with her baby bump, which seems rather large for someone only four months along. She’s less than half way through her pregnancy, she’s either giving into her junk food cravings, expecting twins, or one of the very unfortunate women who get huge during pregnancy. She looks good though.

It seems that however many babies are inside that belly, she’s having a boy. A Fall Out Boy, since I just can’t resist the pun.

The couple, who married in May, filled out a registry for their baby in June and our source says, “almost everything is blue.”

A salesperson who helped the couple said, “They [Simpson and Wentz] made it very clear that it was a boy.”

On June 30, the rocker couple bought a few T-shirts and bibs from Plain Mary with the words, “Hunk,” “Loved” and “Yummy” emblazoned on the front. The shirts retail for $28 and the bibs for $18.

Simpson and Wentz will visit the baby boutique next week to discuss the nursery, our source confirms.

Petit Tresor is the same shop that got slapped with a lawsuit for leaking details of Tom and Katie’s shopping habits, so I wonder if Pete and Ash have gone shopping for clothes in there knowing that what they buy is going to get leaked. Next they’ll order some pink items to throw us off the scent, or make us think it is twins.

Isn’t $18 rather expensive for a bib? A bib is used to wipe snot and food off of a baby’s face, it doesn’t really need to be anything special.

Ashlee’s new husband Pete Wentz said this week that he used to make out with guys, but it was ’sexual rebellion’. I’m not sure exactly what Pete Wentz is rebelling against sexually, but I’m guessing it was against those girls who weren’t really into the guyliner.

Ashlee Simpson is officially a Wentz. I’m not sure if that’s an upgrade or a downgrade. On the one hand, she no longer shares a last name with Joe Simpson. And that can really only be a good thing. On the other hand, there’s no denying that she is now forever a part of Fallout Boy. I’m pretty sure that changing your last name to Wentz comes with a complimentary lifetime supply of eyeliner. Ashlee says she changed her name because she thinks it’s something women should do.

Newly married Ashlee Simpson is changing her name to Ashlee Wentz in honor of her husband, Fall Out Boy Pete Wentz.

“I think that that’s something that a woman should do when they’re marrying a man,” she tells PEOPLE. “It’s a tradition that I think is a great tradition.” The singer, whose May 17 wedding featured an Alice in Wonderland-themed reception, says that privately she’ll go by Ashlee Wentz and professionally she’ll be Ashlee Simpson-Wentz.

Pete Wentz says he left the name change decision to his wife. “These decisions with Ashlee and her name are all completely up to Ashlee,” Wentz says. “I want her to do these kinds of things the way she wants to do them.” Still, he admits, he was flattered. “Oh man, I was like upgrade me! You know what I’m saying? The Wentz family, our Christmas card just got upgraded!” he says. “It feels insane. It feels unreal.”

I think it’d be nicer if she phrased her reasoning behind changing her name as something she wanted to do, or thought she personally should do. Applying it to all women - and using the word “should” - makes it come off as very old-fashioned.

Still, she offered the brilliant quotation, “It’s a tradition that I think is a great tradition” so it’s pretty clear Ashlee Simpson-Wentz doesn’t stop and thinking about the words she chooses before spouting off. So something tells me she didn’t exactly pause to consider the implications of her phrasing.

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz were due to have their shotgun wedding last weekend when Ashlee decided she didn’t want her dad, a former Baptist minister, officiating. She got it in mind that she was going to have a Buddhist minister instead, despite never having previously expressed an interest in Buddhism that I could find. The argument between Ashlee and her dad got so heated that she said she would cancel the wedding if he wouldn’t let her have a Buddhist priest preside. Ashlee’s fiancé Pete Wentz stepped in and was able to save the wedding by convincing Ashlee to give in to her dad:

“In the 11th hour, Ashlee clashed with her father over the ceremony, and when he would not cave, she actually decided to cancel,” said a family friend.

The dispute… was because Ashlee… decided at the last minute to have a Buddhist priest perform the ceremony instead of her father.

“Joe completely lost it!” the source said.

“They were down to the wire. Every last detail was in place and he could not believe his daughter came up with this last-second Buddhist idea after everything was set.”

Joe Simpson, a former Baptist minister, “dug in his heels,” according to the source, and told Ashlee there was no way he’d host a Buddhist wedding.

In the end, it was… Pete who saved the day.

“He ran after Ashlee, sat her down and told her there was too much at stake now to cancel the ceremony,” said the source.

Maybe Joe was pissed because the wedding was all planned out already, but if Ashlee had an available Buddhist minister in mind, and it’s not clear from this article that she did, it seems like a simple change to have a different person officiate. It’s her wedding and she should be the one to decide who is marrying her. Instead Joe Simpson almost let her cancel the whole thing because he was too stubborn to step down and concede his daughter’s wishes! That’s ridiculous. You can understand him being hurt, but it’s his daughter’s special day and he should care enough about her to step down. Instead Joe showed that his ego is more important than his daughter’s feelings.

The National Enquirer has details of Ashlee’s wedding that we’ve partially already heard. She had an “Alice in Wonderland” theme “decorated with a top hat, teapot and pocket watch with a pot of flowers on top…. Tables were laden with black beauty roses… and tents were decked out with black chandeliers, black rugs and white couches with red pillows.” Guests dined on a dinner of “crab cakes, shrimp tacos, sushi, roast organic chicken, Kobe beef and baked Alaska.”

People Magazine has posted the cover of their upcoming issue with the super expensive photos of Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson’s “Fantasy Wedding!” and it’s not the interesting. Ashlee and Pete have their fringed-banged heads together and are smiling like any pose you would see of the two of them on the red carpet. Ashlee wears a simple white veil and pearl drop earrings and Pete has on a tux with a white bow tie and a black rose corsage.

The best part of the photo isn’t newlyweds Ashlee and Pete, but the embarrassed-looking bulldog wearing a flouncy neck piece adorned with black beads. Jessica Simpson and her maybe ex-boyfriend, Tony Romo, are shown in an inset photo dancing at the reception, with Jessica pulling a wide-mouthed face while Tony laughs.

People reports that the reception was “the ultimate rocker event” and included 10,000 “black magic” roses, chandeliers and red and black decorations.

Ashlee wore “an ivory lace Monique Lhuillier gown and a cathedral-length veil” and People notes that the “nondenominational ceremony [was] officiated by her father, Joe Simpson.”

The event was attended by 150 guests, but you get to see it in People for the price of the magazine. It’s doubtful this issue will sell well enough to justify the reported $1 million that the photos were said to have cost. There’s not a lot of interest in these two, but we’re sure to see more of them as Ashlee’s pregnancy starts to show and they sell the inevitable first baby photos for an even steeper price.

It’s pretty clear exactly which magazines Papa Joe Simpson is friendly with – and even more clear who he isn’t. Though People published an article questioning whether Tony Romo had really dumped Jessica Simpson – after all he did go to Ashlee’s wedding and was supposedly very sweet to Jessica all night – US Weekly is gloating that Jess had to go on vacation all alone with her parents yesterday. And it really does seem like they’re gloating; they’re enjoying her supposedly sorry state way too much.

Tony Romo may have joined Jessica Simpson for pregnant sister Ashlee’s Saturday wedding — but he skipped out on a family vacation with her the next day. On Sunday, Jessica and her parents Joe and Tina hopped a private jet for some R&R in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, amidst reports that she and Romo had split.

(Jessica, who toted her dog Daisy on the tarmac, doesn’t seem to have relationship luck in Cabo. After a teary 2007 trip there with John Mayer — who’s currently dating Jennifer Aniston — the pair called it quits.) Us ends most of their articles with some plea to buy their print edition, and I don’t normally leave that in the excerpt. But the phrasing was so funny and really proves my point. They’re really enjoying framing Jessica in the most pathetic and desperate light possible. And it may be totally true – really we’re not there, we don’t know – but they sure have fun with their adjectives.

People, in contrast, brags about Jessica and Tony’s PDA at Ashlee’s wedding. Something tells me the truth probably lays somewhere between Jessica being totally pathetic and Tony Romo shoving his tongue down her throat. Probably.

What’s going on with Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo? While rumors of a split continue to swirl, the two attended Ashlee Simpson’s private weekend nuptials – looking anything but broken up. “They were very cozy and cute together,” [at Ashlee’s rehearsal dinner ]said a source close to the couple, slamming Internet reports that Simpson was devastated to learn that her ex, John Mayer, has taken up with Jennifer Aniston. “She’s definitely not mourning John Mayer! So for the record, Jessica Simpson is either as happy and in love as she’s ever been, or totally pathetically desperate and has little cut-outs of John Mayer’s head littering her home. And she’s either going to spend the rest of her life going on vacation with her parents until the sweet release of death, or she’s a total rock star with a killer love life. Between the two magazines, People is generally the more reputable – though in this case they might be a little hopefully naive.

Well it finally happened. For reasons that remain unclear to most of us, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz got married yesterday. Granted they seem like a cute enough couple when you look at them together. But when you think about each of them separately, you kind of think… why? At least I have, ever since Celebitchy pointed out how “special” Pete looks in this photo. Whenever I think of them working on wedding details or doing anything grownup and/or normal, I imagine that expression on Pete’s face and get the willies. But apparently that hasn’t occurred to Ashley, and/or she gets off on it. Because she just committed herself to spending the rest of her life with Pete.

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz were married Saturday evening in an intimate ceremony, their spokesperson tells PEOPLE exclusively. “We’re delighted to confirm that Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson were married this evening in front of family and close friends,” said the spokesperson.

Simpson, 23, wore an ivory lace wedding gown by Monique Lhuillier accessorized with a diamond necklace and earrings by Neil Lane as she and Wentz, 28, exchanged vows in front of 150 guests at her parents’ Los Angeles area home.

Dad Joe Simpson performed the non-denominational ceremony, while sister Jessica served as maid of honor. Wentz’s English bulldog, Hemingway, was the ring-bearer. Guests included Jessica’s boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, as well as actor Donald Faison with girlfriend CaCee Cobb.

Ashlee’s wedding theme was Alice in Wonderland. Nope, I’m not being sarcastic. It actually sounds pretty cool, if you’re into kooky wedding themes. If nothing else, it sounds like it certainly stands out against all the other weddings out there.

With the help of wedding planner Mindy Weiss, Simpson got her dream nuptials: The Alice in Wonderland themed reception featured a wedding cake by Sam Godfrey of Perfect Endings with a top hat, tea pot, stop watch and a pot of flowers on top. The elaborate centerpieces of black beauty roses were by Mark’s Garden. Guests were served Rose Veuve Clicquot champagne followed by a sit-down dinner and dancing to a DJ.

People also states that Ashlee is pregnant as though it’s been confirmed. They don’t say “rumored” or anything like that, just “Simpson, who is pregnant with the couple’s first child,” and then gives some biographical information on the couple. Which makes you wonder, because People is generally very accurate, and doesn’t print speculation.

Tony Romo did attend the wedding. He and Jessica were spotted having lunch together at Katsuya on Friday, causing speculation that there were either back together or had never broken up. However several of Tony’s friends insist that he did dump Jessica. And depending on which magazine you read, Simpson’s reps are either refusing to comment or denying that there was ever a split. Supposedly Joe Simpson had begged Tony to attend the wedding. Who the hell knows why he was really there.

Anyway, congrats to the happy couple. I hope Pete makes this expression every night in bed for the rest of your life Ashlee.

The more I hear about this story, the sicker it gets. Dadager Joe Simpson just can’t stop meddling with his daughters’ relationships, and now that football star Tony Romo has broken it off with older daughter Jessica, he still can’t mind his own business. With younger daughter Ashlee getting married to emo poster boy Pete Wentz this weekend, Papa Joe is imploring Romo to show up to the wedding. But is it because he has his daughter’s best interest at heart, or is he hoping that if Tony shows, the media might actually give a crap about this stupid wedding?

Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson may be done, but her dad still wants the quarterback to “support the family” at Ashlee’s weekend wedding.

“Joe has called Tony and asked him to come to show support for the wedding,” a source tells Usmagzine.com.

It’s unclear if Romo accepted Joe’s request, but he’s scheduled to fly into L.A. over the weekend.

Romo wasn’t present at a bachelor party Joe threw for Pete and a few of his pals at Mr. Chow’s on Thursday night. E! reports a steady supply of beer and wine was brought to their table. After the celebration, Joe picked up the $1,000 tab!

Oh, sure - like the Simpson family EVER hosts a party for family only. I’m convinced that Jessica, Ashlee and their parents would probably cease to exist of they stopped being photographed and interviewed. Papa Joe has orchestrated both of these “relationships” for his desperate fame whore daughters, and you can bet he will orchestrate their break-ups as well. If I were Tony Romo, I would change my name and start playing for the Canadian Football League.

Rumors were flying around the interweb last week that Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson were going to get married this past weekend. I would have found it deliciously ironic if the pair wed on Mother’s Day, considering all the rumors of her possible impending pregnancy. But supposedly the gossip was off by a week, and now they’re supposed to get married this weekend.

I’m 99% pretty sure Ashlee is doing all of this to get free publicity for her new album. I’m guessing she’ll be in a constant state of “getting married this coming weekend” for at least another six months. If she’s rumored to be pregnant for another year or so, I’m going to find her and snap her CD in half over her head. I’m sooooo on to you Ashlee Simpson.

I have two unarguable reasons for this belief. Number one: she is Joe Simpson’s daughter, and therefore biologically commanded to try to abuse the media for free press. Number two: who in the world could commit to spend the rest of their life with Pete Wentz? Do you really want to give birth to babies that come with their own eyeliner? Even as a Simpson girl, I should think the answer is no.

Note by Celebitchy: Jenna Bush got married last weekend, and I think papa Joe Simpson made the executive decision to postpone his daughter’s nuptials for a time when they wouldn’t be overshadowed by the marriage of a sitting duck president.

The last time we reported this story, we checked on the sales figures for Ashlee’s new album, Bittersweet World, which has about a quarter of the sales of her last CD. It debuted as number 4 on the Billboard 200 and has since sunk all the way down to 31. A wedding isn’t goind to do much for her waning popularity. She’ll have to wait until she has that maybe-baby and lands the cover of a magazine. At least it will earn her some cash.

Hollyscoop has an exclusive that Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz have sent out invitations announcing their shotgun wedding this weekend at an undisclosed location an hour’s drive outside of LA:

A source close to the couple has told Hollyscoop exclusively, “The wedding invitations have been sent out, its taking place the weekend of May 16. The location will not be revealed until the day of the wedding but guests are told it will be an hour drive from Los Angeles.”

Our source also confirmed that Ashlee is 100% pregnant. Papa Joe is probably busy selling off the wedding info and pictures as we speak so expect to see it in the tabloids Memorial weekend.

Ashlee Simpson still does not look pregnant to me, but it’s possible. It’s also possible she’s keeping the rumors going in order to generate buzz for her new album, Bittersweet World. Ashlee’s third CD release debuted at number 4 on the U.S. Billboard 200, and sold 47,000 copies the first week it was out. It’s safe to say Ashlee’s popularity is waning since intro sales of her latest release are less than a quarter of the sales of her last album. If her dad is already brokering the photos for her wedding you can bet he’s banking on increased interest in her music. All this advance publicity didn’t help her, it’s not likely that a wedding will do much either.

Do you think People and/or OK! will eventually stop paying astronomical rates for celebrity wedding and baby photos after they realize they’re not big sellers and that the long term increase in circulation is not worth it? Ashlee has a potential gold mine on her hands with a wedding and a maybe-pregnancy, but you can’t help but think she’s going to milk it for all the publicity and the cash her grubby dad can get his mitts on.

Just when you thought Jessica Simpson might be smartenin’ up, she says something like this.

Simpson says, “I’m not going to lie and say that I don’t want to see Tony (Romo) and me in the (tabloid) pictures. It is a good airplane reading if you throw it away when you get off. I’m good at that.

What really gets me is that while Jessica loves these pictures, the rest of us are just mildly disturbed. Do you remember those pictures of her, Tony Romo and the blue icing at his birthday celebration? Yeah, I’m going into therapy as a result, too.

Jessica and Tony are also rumored to be getting engaged, although this is strictly not official. While these rumors have circulated for a few weeks, do you kind of suspect that Jess might be putting them out herself to draw attention away from her sister Ashlee?

I’m sure that all siblings have issues, but getting married out of competition is not going to make for a happy union - if this story is true.

The way for Jess to go is to get married about two weeks after Ashlee’s wedding. Sure, Ashlee will get married first (sort of, Jessica was married to Nick Lachey before), but Jessica will be able to see what she does and outdo her. Ashlee wears a white dress with 3 foot train? Jess will get a dress that requires nine bridesmaids to assist her walking. Ashlee arrives at the reception in a Cinderella-style horse drawn carriage? Jess arrives in the same carriage, but leaves after midnight in a giant pumpkin pulled by genetically modified mice. You could see her thinking there are mice big enough to pull a carriage.
