Everybody Loves Raymond and ‘Till Death star Brad Garrett got into an altercation with the paparazzi last night and is now being investigated for battery. I don’t blame the man - when you’re a B-list star, what else are you going to do besides try to beat up random photographers outside of restaurants?

Authorities are investigating battery allegations against Emmy-winning actor Brad Garrett in an incident involving a photographer in West Hollywood.

Los Angeles County sheriff’s Sgt. Kristin Aloma said the 48-year-old Garrett has not been arrested in the incident that occurred late Tuesday or early Wednesday. She did not provide further details.

A video posted on celebrity gossip site TMZ.com shows photographers shooting and taping Garrett for about three minutes as he left a restaurant. As he approached his vehicle, Garrett briefly chased one photographer, then pushed the video camera of another paparazzo.

Ooooh, the drama. Unfortunately for Garrett, video of the incident is all over the internet. Way to make sure you remain semi-relevant dude. This isn’t his first run in with the paparazzi either. In July he told a photographer, “I didn’t know there were black people in Malibu. Go back to where you came from.” Then a month later he hit the camera of another photographer. Apparently this is the only way the guy knows how to respond. Just a word of advice: when all you’re known for is being the tall guy with the dull voice, you should take whatever press coverage you can get.

Boy Amy Winehouse sure is running towards rock bottom at a sprint. The singer was widely reported to have ruined her 12-year-old goddaughter’s singing debut at the End of Summer Ball in London on Thursday night. She also tried to headbutt the event’s official photographer (according to another source she did manage to punch him). She looked absolutely wasted and out of it in all the pictures from the night – though something tells me that photographer wasn’t inclined to take the most flattering pictures after all that. Now the Sun has a report saying that Amy punched a female dancer in the eye at the ball. Because otherwise she wouldn’t have brought enough drama to the evening.

AMY WINEHOUSE faces arrest after allegedly whacking a woman dancer in the face. Sherene Flash, 30, said junkie Amy punched her in the eye after she asked to take the star’s picture. Amy then ran off, crying out: “Life can’t go on. I can’t do this any more.”

Cops were called to the £700-a-ticket End Of Summer Ball in central London, where Amy performed, and took a statement from Sherene. They are expected to quiz Back To Black and Rehab singer Amy, 25, later.

A pal said: “Sherene asked Amy if she could take a photo. Amy was OK at first, but when Sherene asked if a friend could get in the shot, Amy lashed out.” A source said: “She was getting distressed. There was a lot of grabbing and flashbulbs were going off. She was startled.”

Earlier this month it was reported that Winehouse has such severe brain damage from all of her drug and alcohol abuse that it’s brought on symptoms normally associated with schizophrenia. That – combined with the decent possibility that she was on drugs that night – could certainly explain Amy’s behavior. It sounds like she was in a real state of agitation.

Amy’s clearly at a point where she’s not just a danger to herself but to others. At what point does someone step in and do something? I seriously doubt the police will do anything besides giving her another caution. However she has racked up several of those for other assaults and drug infractions, so maybe she’ll actually get in a little bit of trouble. Nothing that’ll actually force her to change her behavior, I’m sure, but some token gesture to the public that says, “We’re sorry that Amy Winehouse is out and about, roaming around, and may lunge from a bush at any moment and attack you. And get away with it.”

Rapper, producer, reality star, Mariah Carey’s BFF, and all-around badass Da Brat (real name Shawntae Harris) has just been sentenced to three years in prison for an attack that occurred at Jermaine Dupri’s Studio 72 nightclub in Atlanta this past Halloween. She hit Shayla Stevens, an Atlanta Falcons cheerleader, in the head with an almost full liquor bottle. Da Brat must also must serve seven years of probation and complete 200 hours of community service.

Harris also must get substance abuse treatment and a mental evaluation and attend anger management classes. “She feels a great deal of remorse for what she did,” said Harris’s lawyer, Thomas Clegg. “She is willing to accept responsibility for what she has done.”

A handful of Harris’s family sat on the back row of the courtroom. They wept when a sheriff’s deputy took her into custody. “I love y’all,” Harris, 34, said as she was led out of the courtroom. “We love you too” the relatives replied in unison.

Dressed in black pants and top with her short hair in braids, Harris did not comment other than to answer “yes” several time when the judge asked her if she understood her guilty plea to a felony aggravated assault charge and her negotiated sentencing.

As a result of the blow Stevens was knocked down some stairs and landed on a cement floor. She suffered a severe facial cut and will have permanent scars. She was in court but didn’t say anything. Stevens is also suing Da Brat for medical and other costs. Da Brat isn’t just an occasional reality TV star (The Surreal Life and Celebrity Fit Club); she’s also a very well-respected – and highly paid – Grammy nominated producer. I doubt she’ll end up serving all three years, but that is a surprisingly long sentence compared to what some people end up doing for even worse crimes like manslaughter.

Courtenay Semel – the woman who supposedly was Lindsay Lohan’s first lesbian love - is easily the ugliest creature I have ever seen. Dlisted had a side-by-side image of her next to the Grinch, and the resemblance is uncanny. Even funnier is that several British tabloids referred to her as “stunning” last week. I’m assuming “stunning” is actually British slang for “looks like she got beat up with a bat.” I mean there’s ugly where you sort of feel badly for the person, and then there’s the sort of ugly where you’re actually mad at the person for existing, and shoving their ugly in your face. Courtenay is that kind of ugly.

Semel is now dating Tila Tequila. Always a good idea. Courtenay is also apparently pretty mad that she has a mouth that looks like she’s storing a giftbox. That’s the only reason I can guess why she’s act like a complete lunatic and end up getting her ugly ass arrested on Tuesday night.

COURTENAY Semel, the wild-child lesbian daughter of former Yahoo chief Terry Semel, went on a tear Tuesday night in Las Vegas and ended up spending the night in jail. Semel showed up in the party town without new girlfriend Tila Tequila and started the night at Sushi Samba in the Palazzo with Kourtney Kardashian. “They were filming their dinner for ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ ” our spy said. Later, Kardashian called it a night and Semel went out to Pure at Caesars with Vegas showman Jeff Beacher - and proceeded to “go nuts,” a spy said. “Courtenay got so drunk she was falling down. Security asked her to leave, but she refused.” Semel finally left, but on her way out there was an altercation with a security guard. “She was arrested and spent the night in jail,” a Semel pal confirmed. “And she lost her phone.” Calls to Semel weren’t returned. Vegas police said, “We can’t confirm at this time.”

Lily Allen has often complained that people seem to see her as a lesser version of Amy Winehouse. Yet she hasn’t been bitching about it nearly so much in the last year or so as Amy’s life has completely gone down the toilet. No matter what bad behavior Lily engaged in, it never compared to a thing Winehouse did. And one would assume she was no longer jealous of Amy… but apparently that’s not the case. Lily’s decided to act just as idiotic as the beehived singer, and attack people on the streets.

Move over, Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen has been out drinking and is ready to fight.

The 23-year-old British songstress apparently reacted to a female heckler outside Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in the Soho area of London early Tuesday morning, throwing a punch at the woman as she walked by.

Luckily the jab didn’t connect, and Lily’s friends managed to restrain her and get her into a car. The Grammy-nominated singer has a history of getting physical: She was arrested and cautioned for kicking a photographer after a night out in London last year.

Looks like someone should be taking her own and advice and “just smile.”

I think if you want to become better known and not referred to as a “shittier” (Lily’s own words) version of Winehouse, it’s probably best to work on your music and not your assaulting skills. I mean sure you could become more Winehouse-esq by drinking too much and seeing what kind of normally-only-afflicts-senior-citizens diseases you could get… or you could work on your talent and be known for that.

The Amy Winehouse downward spiral continues. Who knew a spiral could last so long? At this point Amy’s downfall defies the laws of time, physics, and space. Or a bunch of other scientific words I don’t really understand. Either way, I know it’s pretty rare for something to actually be endless, and that appears to be what’s going on with Amy’s slow demise. Just when you think she’s hit rock bottom and she’ll either die or clean up, she proves you wrong and shows you there’s a whole other level of drunken misbehavior to be glorified.

Amy has now physically attacked another seemingly well-meaning fan. For what appears to be no reason. The fan reached out to touch her while passing on the street (in a seemingly worried or comforting gesture) and Amy slapped the woman, then proceeded to curse her out.

Pop wreck Amy Winehouse has swung out and hit again. The aggressive British star lashed out at an innocent fan on a London street Thursday night. This time the troubled “Rehab” singer gave a hard slap to a middle-aged, female Samaritan who had reached out for her, crying out “Let f***ing go of me, d***head.”

The victim apparently grabbed Winehouse as she walked by, seemingly to express concern for the ailing singer’s health, reports Britain’s The Sun newspaper. Winehouse, 24, was diagnosed with early-stage emphysema in June. This small gesture resulted in Winehouse’s unprompted attack. Even as she walked away, the singer could be heard calling the woman a “f***ing bitch.”

Wino’s first wallop, this isn’t: Earlier this year, she punched a fellow bar patron in a London pub, seemingly unprovoked. “I hadn’t said a word to her or touched her,” the victim, Wayne Lindsay, told Britain’s Daily Mirror. In addition to various rehab treatments for her heroin addiction, isn’t it time Winehouse started looking into anger management courses?

I’d say it’s time for the British courts to start getting involved, but I think we’ve all seen from Pete Doherty’s case that that’s an utter waste of time and money. Amy’s family seems to constantly be walking this fine line between supporting her and calling her out for her misbehavior. The singer used to love her fans, who would often show up at her door unannounced. She’d chat with them and sign autographs – how many celebrities can you think of that would do that? It really says something about her massive issues that her personality has changed so dramatically.

Here’s Amy last night in London with her god daughter and four burly security guards. One of them was hitting photographers, knocking several to the ground. WENN reports that along with the face slap, Amy was in a bad mood after having been told at a gas garage they had no playing cards to sell her, threw a pint glass at a photographer, and swore at people in the street. A week ago Hairspray actress Nikki Blonsky and her dad Carl got into a major brawl at the airport in Turks and Caicos with former America’s Next Top Model contestant Bianca Golden and her mother Elain.

Elain had to be flown off the island for medical attention and both of the Blonskys and Bianca Golden were arrested and charged with various levels of assault. Nikki and Bianca were released on bail but Carl has been held this past week because he was charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm. Today he had his bail hearing and was expected to be released, but will be held for at least another week and a half, despite having health issues.

Nikki Blonsky’s dad will remain behind bars for a few more weeks. At a hearing Friday, the judge in Providenciales Magistrates’ Court ruled that Carl Blonsky must wait until August 19 for a trial, TMZ.com reports. The judge made the ruling despite Carl’s plea that he needed to return to the U.S. because of a kidney problem, according to TMZ.

Carl — who was slapped with a felony charge of grievous bodily harm — has been jailed since the July 30 airport brawl.

Elaine, who was badly injured in the scuffle, flew back to New York City on Monday. She is undergoing treatment for temporary paralysis in her left side.

Nikki — who was charged with actual bodily harm — was not at Friday’s hearing. She is due in court in December. Bianca, 19 — who is due in court in September 16 — was also charged with actual bodily harm. Like Nikki, she remains free on bail.

TMZ reported today that Elaine was still in the ICU at a Miami hospital, so I’m not sure where Us got the information that she’d flown to New York on Monday. Either way it’s clear that her injuries were pretty severe. There’s a cell phone camera video of part of the altercation on YouTube, but it’s fairly controversial so I’m not going to link it here. Headbutting is the new bitch slap. First it was Naomi Campbell. Then Amy Winehouse. Now Joss Stone has publicly headbutted a man – her own half-brother to be exact. When two celebrities do something, it’s a fad. But once you get three on board it’s an absolute trend, and pretty soon people will be doing/watching/wearing whatever it is in the street. So keep that in mind when you glare at the rude clerk at the grocery store.

Joss was a little late to her nephew’s baptism, and she was supposed to be the baby’s godmother. A fight ensued between Joss and her half-brother Daniel, resulting in her headbutting him.

Pop star Joss Stone amazingly headbutted her brother as a family baptism descended into an ugly brawl. The diva, 21, was to be godmother to half-brother Daniel Skillin’s year-old son Louis but incensed her family by arriving 30 minutes late. She then refused to properly read out the church order of service - and as elderly relatives confronted her she branded them “old biddies”.

When ex-heroin addict and jailbird Daniel, 29, later quizzed her, she turned violent. One guest revealed: “She was absolutely furious and they had a full-blown argument. They were screaming at each other and the next thing, Joss headbutted him. Other family members ran over to break it up and she stormed off. It turned from a nice family affair into a brawl between Joss and her brother. No one could believe it.”

Rev John Cunningham later confirmed he had reminded her about the reading but said: “The conversation I had is between me and her.” The ugly bust-up exploded after guests decamped to Daniel’s home.

However, her pals insisted Joss’s headbutt was little more than a tap. One friend said: “She had been looking forward to the baptism. No one seemed bothered that she was a little late but a few people from Daniel’s side had a go. At Daniel’s house she got lots of stick and eventually had a go back. But she didn’t want trouble and when things got a bit too heated she left. She was really upset.”

Clearly. You know, when I’m really upset I yell, scream, or cry. Or generally do the wasp thing and keep it all inside, which is much more dignified and less healthy. But rarely do I resort to headbutting. Not never, but rarely. I imagine Joss looking like a charging rhino, coming at her poor brother with smoke coming out of her nostrils. Do rhino nostrils smoke? I think I’m mixing this up with dragons. But with that occasionally purplish-red hair of hers, Josh does look a bit dragon-esq.

Considering she couldn’t hold her temper together for a few hours over something that was clearly her mistake to begin with, it seems like it’d be a good idea to pick a new godmother. Heaven forbid the kid fail to blow out all his candles on his 5th birthday and Joss sucker punches him or something.

It must be really frustrating to star in a movie that’s universally raved about, and then not get any other offers aside from a couple of Lifetime movies. That’s the only explanation I can come up with for Hairspray star Nikki Blonsky’s unmitigated rage. Nikki and her father Carl were involved in some kind of serious physical altercation yesterday at the airport in Turks and Caicos. The two took on former America’s Next Top Model contestant Bianca Golden and her mother Elain – who was so seriously injured that she had to be airlifted to a Florida hospital!

“They were involved in an altercation at the airport in the departure lounge,” Sgt. Chase of the Turks and Caicos Islands Police Department tells E! News, adding that the fight was over some saved seats.

Blonsky’s rep declined to comment. The 19-year-old Hairspray star was charged with assault and actual bodily harm as well as common assault; her father, Carl, was rung up on a count of inflicting grievous bodily harm. Bianca Golden was also charged with actual bodily harm and assault. Golden’s mother, Elain, was hurt so badly she had to be airlifted to a hospital in Florida, according to Sgt. Chase.

Nikki Blonsky appeared in court this morning sporting a neck brace–”she received some kind of injury,” said Chase; a judge allowed her to be released on $6,000 cash bail and ordered to return to court on Dec. 1. Her father is being held until Aug. 8. Golden was also freed on bail. According to Chase, Golden and Nikki Blonsky’s charges carry a maximum penalty of two years, while Carl Blonsky could face up to five years in prison.

Holy cow. This whole thing just reeks of Tracy Turnblad fighting for justice. Except I think Blonsky forgot Tracy’s message of not beating the crap out of people. Who knew the pint-sized girl packed such rage? I know traveling and airports can piss people off and make otherwise rational people do very irrational things… but this is pretty damn extreme. It resulted in airlifting someone off the island. And neck braces. And lots of criminal charges. I’m really anxious to hear a more gossipy account of what went on.

On Monday MSat reported that actors Josh Brolin and Jeffrey Wright were arrested after a bar fight in Shreveport, Louisiana. The details were pretty vague at the time, but considering it was a bar, a drunken fight, and ended up with cops, it seemed safe to conclude that Brolin and Wright were the main problems. However TMZ is reporting that there’s some shocking videotape of their arrest that appears to show police brutality.

Josh Brolin and Jeffrey Wright, who were arrested this past weekend at a Shreveport, La. bar, were pepper sprayed and tased by cops. And, we’re told, police went on a vulgar rant — and portions were caught on cell phone video.

The incident occurred during a wrap party for Oliver Stone’s movie “W” about the Prez. Local station KTBS reports and TMZ sources say Wright, who plays Colin Powell, was repeatedly tasered and pepper sprayed as he lay prone on his stomach in the street. We know witnesses heard the officers using extremely foul language, including the “N” word, directed at Wright.

Our sources say Brolin was observed by witnesses attempting to make peace and standing still as he was repeatedly sprayed in the eyes by cops.

The city attorney has not decided whether to file criminal charges against Brolin, Wright or the others for interfering with a police officer.

I’m assuming the video will be on the internet in short order, though from what’s described, I don’t think I could watch it. It doesn’t seem likely that the police officers’ reactions had anything directly to do with whatever Brolin and Wright did at the bar. Bar fights happen all the time, and while this one got a lot of attention because the actors are famous – and they’re starring in a big important movie – there’s no reason to believe they’ve done anything that explains that officers’ behavior.

This sounds really horrendous, and I’m surprised Brolin and Wright haven’t said anything yet. It’ll be really interesting to see what possible explanation the Shreveport police give.
