Video of Kanye West freaking out at the MTV Europe VMAs

Just like the video of Matt Damon telling Jimmy Kimmel to f off, some people are saying Kanye West’s ego-fueled trip out at the MTV Europe awards was staged. I’m not so sure. Everyone’s reporting it like it was real, and West is known for his temper and ego.

West crashed the stage Thursday in Copenhagen when the best video award was being presented to Justice and Simian for ”We Are Your Friends.”

In a tirade riddled with expletives, West said he should have won the prize for his video ”Touch the Sky,” because it ”cost a million dollars, Pamela Anderson was in it. I was jumping across canyons.”

”If I don’t win, the awards show loses credibility,” West said.

The rapper grabbed the best hip-hop award earlier in the night in a star-studded event hosted by Justin Timberlake in the Danish capital.

West has a particular affinity for the ”Touch the Sky” video. In an interview with the Associated Press in August, he expressed his displeasure that the clip, an elaborate Evel Knievel spoof, didn’t get nominated for an MTV video music award.

”It didn’t get any nominations, but it’s one of the most memorable videos of the year for me,” he said then.

It’s also not the first time he’s had an awards-show meltdown. At the 2004 American Music Awards, West bitterly complained backstage that he was robbed when he didn’t win a trophy.

Here’s the video. Sorry your video cost a million to make, Kanye. You’re going to lose a hell of a lot more in future revenue by blowing your cool and your reputation.

J.Lo channels Jane Fonda at the VMAs

Since J.Lo can’t get pregnant, she probably figures she’ll settle for looking matronly. What the hell is she wearing? She undoubtedly designed that craptacular outfit herself. It looks quite scratchy and polyester, but considering that J.Lo’s wearing it, it’s probably some rare kind of polyester that’s made from the skin of endangered seals. It might look kind of hot and retro if it was sleeveless, but she inexplicably tacked some puffy sleeves on it. And look - she’s wearing a matching silver do-rag!

She looks like she’s trying to channel her “Monster In-Law” co-star Jane Fonda circa 1968, but Fonda looked much more fierce.

Gwen Stefani is going to boycott the MTV VMAs

The MTV Video Music Awards are tomorrow, but new mommy Gwen Stefani won’t be there. She’s said to be pissed at her poor treatment at last year’s show, when Kelly Clarkson scooped up all the awards and the camera kept panning in on Stefani’s dissapointed face. Instead of sucking it up and showing up for her career, she’s just staying home:

GWEN Stefani has had it with the MTV Video Music Awards. The “No Doubt” cutie is said to be “boycotting” tomorrow’s show because of the shoddy treatment she got last year. “She had a ton of nominations and was under the impression she would be taking home at least one award,” our insider said. “But every award, except that lame best-dressed award, went to Kelly Clarkson, and every time Kelly won, the camera went straight to Gwen. She felt set up.” Stefani also thought she was going to close the show - another honor that went to Clarkson. Stefani’s rep declined comment.

Aw, poor Gwen. It must suck to be a best selling recording artist charging exhorbitant amounts for clothing designs ripped off from hipper cultures and manufactured by sweatshop labor. If you can’t get a little award once in a while, why bother showing up?

Here’s Gwen taking a jog in NY with a trainer yesterday.

K-Fed sets white rappers back 15 years; with video from TCA

The Beastie Boys, Eminem and 3rd Bass all prove that white guys can rap. Vanilla Ice was ahead of his time. K-Fed embodies the stereotype that white guys are idiot posers with no talent. His performance at the Teen Choice Awards yesterday just set white rappers back 15 years.

Britney threw some more seaweed over her beached whale of a career by coming on stage in one of her trademark boob-baring maternity dresses and introducing her husband through a mouthful of gum.

During the performance teen boys try to distract from the real K-Fed by performing karaoke to his rapping, and a wingman raps the intro to the song, but nothing can save this hot mess. All the boys do is remind us that K-Fed’s insane ambition to rap is best abandoned in the Junior High years.

Charlize Theron at the LA Film Festival’s “Spirit of Independence”

Charlize Theron was given the “Spirit of Independence” award at the LA film festival yesterday. Theron says that it’s a misconception that you’re typecast once you do indie films and can’t make the transition to blockbuster movies. That’s probably true if you’re a statuesque blonde with great talent, but not if you’re a short fat character actor:

The prize, given to George Clooney last year, was set up in 2005 to “recognise an individual for his or her commitment to artistic independence in film”.

“What we love about her is she’s made interesting choices,” Dawn Hudson of Film Independent, the non-profit body behind the annual festival…

Her next role is as a heroin-addicted single mother in The Ice at the Bottom of the World, to be directed by British film-maker Sir Alan Parker.

“I think the biggest misconception about independent film-making is that if you do those movies you’ll always be thought of as that kind of actor,” Theron said.

“It’s not true. If anything, I hope to have that kind of career, where you can go back and forth and do different things.”

With an academy award and a new serious role in the works, Theron doesn’t have to worry much about her career.

The Spirit of Independence Awards were presented by Virginia Madsen and Jimmy Smits and also honored directors Steve Collins and Amy Berg.

Here is Charlize at the Spirit of Independence awards with the Target dog, and her boyfriend, actor Stuart Townsend. Her left hand is not visible in these pictures, so we can’t see if she’s wearing that wedding ring again.

You can view a recap video of the MTV Movie awards at YouTube. (Embedding is disabled or I would have posted it here.)

There isn’t footage of Alba hosting the awards in the recap video, but you can view Alba accepting her award for the sexiest role about 10 minutes into the video. She says “Thank you to all the perverts who voted for me!”

All of Jessica Alba’s promos for the MTV Movie Awards are below.

Isla Fisher at the 2006 MTV Movie Awards

30 year old Isla Fisher is an Australian actress, model, and author. She is best known for her appearance in “Wedding Crashers” as Rachel McAdam’s clingy sister, Gloria Cleary. She won the 2006 MTV Movie Award for “Best Breakthrough Performance” for that role.

Fisher is engaged to the hysterical Sacha Baron Cohen, aka Ali G.

Here’s a little more about Fisher:

She played Shannon Reed, a fiery, opinionated teenager, on Australian soap Home and Away from 1994-1997. During this time, she wrote two books, Seduced by Fame, about an ambitious aspiring actress whose dreams come true when she wins a role on her favourite show, and Bewitched, about a naive ballerina who searches for her father and falls in love for the first time. Most recently, she starred in Wedding Crashers with Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn, and Rachel McAdams, and won praise for her comedic performance in the movie. In June 2006 she collected the Breakthrough Performance prize at the MTV Movie Awards for her role in Wedding Crashers. In 2006 she starred as Becca, a Manhattan party host in the offbeat relationship drama London alongside Jessica Biel, Chris Evans and Jason Statham.

Of Scottish parentage, Fisher now resides in England with her fiancé British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen (Ali G).

Isla’s acceptance speech at the MTV movie awards must have been excellent. She is quoted as saying: “For most people, playing a bipolar nymphomaniac would have been a challenge, but I just played myself.”

“Wedding Crashers” was the big winner at the 2006 MTV Movie Awards, taking home the golden popcorn for best picture and best on-screen team for Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson.

Christina Aguilera “regrets” that Britney wasn’t at the MTV movie awards

Highlighting the fact that she’s happily married and hot as ever with a thriving career while Britney Spears, well - isn’t, Christina Aguilera said that she’s oh so broken up by the fact that Britney couldn’t make it to the MTV movie awards this year:

“It’s a shame Britney doesn’t go to any shows or awards anymore, because they are so much fun, even if you’re not nominated for things, I miss seeing how hot she looked on red carpets and seeing her at awards and shows was the only times we really had time to catch up with each other because we’re both so busy”.

In case you want to give Aguilera the benefit of the doubt and don’t think this is a dig at Britney, read what she said about Britney’s wedding with K-Fed two years ago:

Christina Aguilera, meanwhile, branded the Spears-Federline wedding as “trashy, pathetic and low rent.” “It’s surprising,” Aguilera said at the time. “The whole affair seems somewhat pathetic.”

They may have served chicken wings and hamburgers, but the wedding wasn’t all that trashy. A rare hand-beaded invitation to the Spears-Federline wedding along with an initialed party favor candle is for sale on eBay for nearly $1,000. The favors were classy even if the relationship never will be. The eBay seller should have waited until the divorce announcement in order to drive up the price.

Here’s trash-talking Christina Aguilera at The Ivy with her husband on June 2nd. She looks pretty tipsy, and it’s not the first time.
