Lindsay Lohan get ‘Worst Actress’ Razzie nomination

screen-capture-professional-13-202.JPG

Life just gets better and better for Lindsay Lohan. First, a teeny, tiny part of one of the many lawsuits against her was thrown out. Then, she was sober for almost three months before she was caught publicly drinking champagne straight from the bottle. No word on if she figured out a way to mainline it – but if anyone could, it’d be Lohan. And now, as a final salute to what’s clearly been her best year ever, Lohan has been nominated for a Razzie! I would say the Razzie nom is definitely the most fitting of her many achievements this year. Lohan has given many spectacular performances in her long career – who could forget “Just My Luck,” or “Herbie Fully Loaded?” With a record like that, it’s no wonder she’s publicly proclaimed that she plans to win an Oscar. And now she’s one step further, after garnering so much negative attention for her performance in what may well be the worst movie ever – “I Know Who Killed Me.”

Lindsay Lohan landed her first nominations of the 2008 awards season Monday. But it’s probably best to leave this one off the résumé. The 21-year-old actress was recognized by the Razzies – the annual awards show recognizing the year’s “worst” films and performances – for her part in the thriller I Know Who Killed Me. In fact, she earned two nominations for a single role.

The movie – in which Lohan plays two characters, a stripper and an abducted small-town girl – led the pack with a total of nine nominations, including one for worst picture of 2007. “I Know Who Killed Me is the most fabulously brainless movie since Showgirls,” Razzie founder John Wilson told the Associated Press. “By the end of it, you still don’t know what happened. Are they twins or aren’t they? Did she imagine it? Can I please have my hour and 50 minutes back?”

[From People]

The Razzies, short for the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation, aim to award the very worst in Hollywood. Lohan will be competing for the worst actress Razzie against Jessica Alba, who’s nominated for her performances in three movies: “Awake,” Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer and “Good Luck Chuck.” Also nominated are all four of the actresses no one’s ever heard of from the “Bratz” movie, Elisha Cuthbert for “Captivity,” and Diane Keaton for her performance in “Because I Said So.” But Lohan’s stiffest completion is the in-house candidate: Lindsay Lohan. That’s right, she’s nominated twice for her acting in “I Know Who Killed Me,” in which she plays two characters. As big an accomplishment it is to be nominated for three separate movies, I think it’s safe to say there’s really no competition between Jessica Alba and Lindsay Lohan. The awards will be handed out on February 23rd. Though I don’t think the “handing out” is literal – I doubt many nominees show up to accept an insult.

George Clooney describes his fear at hoopla over Britney’s meltdown

csh-035647.jpg
There’s an a great roundtable interview on Newsweek with some of the expected best actress and actor Oscar nominees this year. It is thought that the Oscars won’t even happen as the writer’s strike doesn’t seem close to a resolution and the Oscars are scheduled for just a month away. I can’t say I’ll miss them apart from the fashion and the gossip from the parties. (Update: The Oscar nominations will be announced tomorrow morning.)

George Clooney, Angelina Jolie, Daniel Day-Lewis, Ellen Page, James McAvoy, and Marion Cotillard were interviewed, with some funny banter between them and a lot of the actors’ insight on the business and their craft.

In one section Clooney talks about the infamous night when helicopters and multiple emergency vehicles were dispatched to Britney’s house right near his place and says he worried that a fugitive was on the loose and grabbed a baseball bat for protection:

I just found out about 10 days ago that I must live 300 or 400 yards from Britney Spears. I found out because I came home at 10 at night and there’s all these helicopters over my house with these spotlights on. I have a guesthouse where my assistant sometimes stays, and I thought someone had broken out of prison. Like something out of “Die Hard.” I get my baseball bat, which is what you always do in every film—I actually think Clive Owen said, “Get a baseball bat”—and I called up my assistant, who I thought was in the guesthouse, and I said, “Are you OK?” And she said, “Yes.” And I said, “Look, if there’s someone in the house with you and you can’t talk, say the word ‘Stonehenge’.” And she’s like, “What the f— are you talking about? I’m in my apartment.” I go, “You’re not in the guesthouse?” “No.” So I’m, like, “Well, then, what the f— is going on?” And I go out and I’m running around with a baseball bat in my robe. And it turns out it’s paparazzi over at Britney Spears’s house. So now I have to move

[From Newsweek.com via The Huffington Post]

Clooney, who had success later in life, also talked about a couple of really bad projects he took when he was younger and about the moment when he realized that it was up to him to steer his own career. He’s quite candid and funny about his bad roles and says he’s “really proud of them.”

Were there ever roles that any of you regretted taking?
Clooney: People will give you s–t later and say, “Why did you do this movie?” Because I needed a gig. Sometimes you just needed the job…

Can some of you talk about moments where you failed?
Clooney: I did a series called “Baby Talk.” It’s a little baby that has to talk—it was the “Look Who’s Talking” sitcom. I have a whole list of really s–tty shows that I was really s–tty in. I’m really proud of them. I had a mullet in this one. I have a whole career with a mullet, actually. But this was a sitcom with a guy who was a very big, powerful producer. One of the first things he did was he fired the baby, which I thought was a little strange. And then the lead actress was fired. And then he started on me, and it was the worst experience of my life, because I had never been in that position, where you can’t defend yourself. I remember—it was a very specific moment; it changed my career, actually—going home and I called up my agent and I said, “How bad does it get if I just say ‘f— you’ to this guy?” And my agent goes, “It gets bad.” And I said, “OK,” and I walked in and the producer went after me and I said, “F— you.” And I got fired and sued by the network, though they eventually dropped all of that. It was a terrifying time, but it absolutely freed me up to the idea that the worst thing that could happen is-what? You take away my sitcom? It freed me up to decide that I was going to try to do better projects and not worry so much about succeeding. It changed everything for me.

[From Newsweek.com]

A little later in the interview Clooney tells a story about how he was in a “Western sitcom in a whorehouse” in which the producers were talking him up at first telling him how great he was, but then hired an acting coach for him within a week. He said that “TV can be really brutal” and “there are so many subtle ways to fire you if the show gets picked up.” Clooney was eventually replaced on that project and told “it’s not because of you.”

Clooney said that Harvey Weinstein is the one who got him involved in helping mediate the writer’s strike and said that he also talked to Steven Spielberg and is “happy to a part [of the solution].”

As for the actors’ feelings about what will happen if Oscar time comes and the strike is still on, James McAvoy of Atonement says that “The world will end. It’s fact,” while Clooney maintains that “Nobody is going to cross a picket line…. [or] even consider it.” Angelina Jolie says the party will be at George’s house.

For more of the Oscar roundtable, including videos and some excellent discussion between Juno star Ellen Page and reclusive master Daniel Day-Lewis, see Newsweek.com.

Clooney is shown at the People’s Choice Awards on 1/7/08, thanks to PRPhotos.

National Board of Review Awards with Clooney, Garner, Winslet & more

I never thought I’d see the day when people were making a big deal out of the National Board of Review honors. In fact I never thought I’d see the day where I knew what the National Board of Review was. Sounds like some kind of financial monitoring organization. It turns out it’s comprised of film professionals. How delightfully vague. But in these awards show-starved times, celebrities will take what they can get – and they will make a big deal out of it. As much as we love them, you’ve got to admit they’re a needy folk. A season without at least two major awards shows is cause for some serious Xanax popping. The awards were held at Manhattan restaurant Cipriani last night, and had all the big names.

After a no-wattage Golden Globes, any chance for stars to shine during this writers’ strike-afflicted awards season is suddenly a precious opportunity.

The glam crowd came out Tuesday night to accept their honors from the National Board of Review — George Clooney, Casey and Ben Affleck, and those two cute kids, Emile Hirsch and Ellen Page. The board is made up of film professionals.

Of course, it helps that the honorees already know they are winners and won’t have to suffer the embarrassment of going home with nothing to hold except a doggie bag from Cipriani’s.

[From USA Today]

Ellen Page won a breakthrough-performance award for her great performance in Juno. Jennifer Garner, who co-starred in the film with Page, said, “The person who is getting this award in the last month or so has become the most powerful woman in Hollywood.” George Clooney presented Joel and Ethen Coen an award for best adapted screenplay for No Country for Old Men. Casey Affleck – whose wife Summer Phoenix gave birth to a son a few days ago - won a best supporting-actor award for The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. He presented older brother Ben with a directing award for Gone Baby Gone, and noted “I’m a little bit humbled by it all. The National Board of Review is a very prestigious organization.”

I’m not sure if so many high profile actors usually show up to the National Board of Review honors, or if it’s because they really haven’t been able to get their awards show fix this season. Since the NNRH (I’ve decided to abbreviate it… once you’ve gotten an abbreviation, you’re that much cooler as an organization) are never televised they usually don’t get much coverage, so it’s possible this is par for the course. But I’m going to guess the honors had at least a little more star power this year. If the WGA strike continues, pretty soon celebrities really will be showing up for the opening of an envelope.

Picture note by Celebitchy: Thanks to Splash News and PRPhotos for these pictures, which feature Lauren Bacall, Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Kate Winslet, Casey Affleck, George Clooney, Jennifer Garner, Ben Affleck, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Denzel Washington, Jesse L. Golden Globes announced via press conference

ernestborgnine.jpg
This photo is only marginally related to this article, but I thought it was cute. See below
The Golden Globes were announced through a live press conference hosted by Giuliana Rancic. No celebrities were there and there weren’t any parties afterwards out of reverence for the Writer’s Guild Strike, which had threatened to picket the Globes if they went on as usual.

The Globes press conference only lasted a half an hour, but NBC tried to draw it out with asanine commentary by Billy Bush and Nancy O’Dell. They failed:

Due to the ongoing strike by the Writers Guild of America, the usual glitz-and-glamor brouhaha could not be staged this year. Sunday’s Globes presentation was reduced to a recitation of winners, and you could pick your poison: On E!, there was a 30-minute long, bone-dry reading of the winners. On NBC’s one-hour broadcast, “The Golden Globes Winners Special,” the gratingly perky “Access Hollywood” hosts Nancy O’Dell and Billy Bush sped through the lists of nominees and the naming of the trophy-getters.

The duo made us suffer through their frequently idiotic banter regarding each victor, but before you could roll your eyes, they were off and running again.

In this review, as in the Globes special, brevity is of the essence, but I’d like to take a moment to nominate Billy Bush for most-emptyheaded TV personality of our time.

[From The Chicago Tribune]

Atonement took home best picture out of seven nominations, and Daniel Day Lewis won best actor for There Will Be Blood. Julie Christie beat out Keira Knightley for Best Actress in a drama for her performance in Away From Her:

Here’s a list of the winners:

Best film (drama): Atonement

Best film (musical or comedy): Sweeney Todd

Best director – film: Julian Schnabel - The Diving Bell and the Butterfly

Best actor (drama): Daniel Day Lewis - There Will Be Blood

Best actress (drama): Julie Christie - Away from Her

Best actor (musical or comedy): Johnny Depp - Sweeney Todd

Best actress (musical or comedy) : Marion Cotillard - La Vie en Rose

Best supporting actor: Javier Bardem - No Country for Old Men

Best supporting actress: Cate Blanchett - I’m Not There

Best foreign language film: The Diving Bell and the Butterfly (France and US)

Best animated feature film:

Best screenplay: Ethan Coen and Joel Coen - No Country for Old Men

Best original score: Dario Marianelli - Atonement

Best original song: Guaranteed - Into the Wild

[From MTV]

The Canadian Press notes that all the Golden Globes parties were canceled. Ernest Borgnine, the oldest Golden Globe nominee of all time, threw a party at his house in Beverly Hills. The 90 year-old actor was nominated for best actor in a miniseries for the Hallmark Channel’s “A Grandpa for Christmas.” When he lost out to Jim Broadbent he said “Hey, I already got one… You don’t have to win them all. And I’ve got the big guy too.”

Whether we’ll get to watch the big guy get handed to the celebrities this year or we’ll have to settle for accounts of press conference house parties remains to be seen. We hope for entertainment’s sake that the strike is concluded by then, but it’s not looking good. The Oscars are set to air February 24.

Golden Globes Canceled

null
The award show second only to the Oscars has been axed. Of course celebs will still get their ego stroking in the form of the a golden trophy. Instead of a glitzy affair with a red carpet and more hair extensions than Britney’s closet can hold, a simple announcement of winners will be made. The unofficial word is that the entire event has been canceled.

“The Golden Globes telecast, Hollywood’s biggest party of the year, has been canceled, reports DeadlineHollywoodDaily.com, after weeks of bitter acrimony between striking writers, Globes organizers the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and broadcast partner NBC.”

[MTV]

This Sunday should have been a big night for NBC. The network had exclusive right to the award show and would have raked in big advertising dollars. But with the Writers Guild of America still striking the awards could not go on. Writers threatened to picket the live telecast of the awards and the red carpet arrivals. Celebrity boycotts followed their picket threats with support from the Screen Actors Guild.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association asked NBC to take the show off the air. With celebs refusing to cross the picket line and the lack of a red carpet what will there be to air anyway? A press release with the winners is expected to be the humble way in which winners will be announced.

“A stripped down announcements telecast will be aired by NBC News. It will consist of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association handing out Golden Globes to the winners, who will then pick up the awards and pass through a press room for photos and interviews.”

I can just see tumbleweeds rolling along the carpet and Ryan Seacrest standing there smoking a cig waiting for something to do. He would probably bitch to the camera man about how it took him an hour to get his hair just right. It’s a sad day.

Note by Celebitchy: Pictures are from last year’s Golden Globes. Also, poor Rumer Willis will get stiffed out of her chance at being “Miss Golden Globe” and getting to hand out the stature.

Friday shocker: Lindsay Lohan drinking again

lohandrinking.jpg
Yesterday Celebitchy mentioned that Lindsay Lohan was honored for her “contribution to film,” at the Capri Hollywood International Film Festival. Lohan spent most of her time in Italy whoring around with various men and being photographed… whoring around with various men. She gave a fairly gracious speech at the film festival when she accepted her award… though you’d think she was accepting her much-coveted Oscar, rather than an award from a festival few have ever heard of. Either way, she came off as shockingly classy… though that’s probably because our expectations of Lindsay Lohan are so low. But she eventually reverted to good ‘ol LiLo, after she was taped swigging from a champagne bottle a few minutes later on the dance floor. Stay classy, Lindsay Lohan.

Lindsay Lohan suffered a setback in her sobriety over New Year’s, but is back on track, her lawyer said Thursday. A video of the actress drinking champagne directly from a bottle while in Capri, Italy, hit the Internet Thursday, first appearing on TMZ.com.

“After being handed a champagne bottle while on a dance floor in Italy on New Year’s Eve and drinking from it, the good news is that Lindsay stopped herself, called her sponsor, and got herself back on track,” her lawyer, Blair Berk, tells PEOPLE. “There is no magic cure here. The most unfortunate part of this is that Lindsay has to share her ‘one day at a time’ with the entire world.”

Lohan was in Italy to receive an award at the 12th Annual Capri Hollywood International Film Festival. In a video, she is seen thanking organizers for inviting her to the festival, giving a shout out to John Malkovich, then later taking a swig from a bottle of champagne while on the dance floor.”

[From People]

How unfortunate that the first – and only – time Lindsay Lohan has had a setback in her recovery, it just happens to be caught on tape? I’m sure she’s done nothing but walk the straight and narrow since completing – what was it, her nineteenth? – round of recovery. Considering all the reports that LiLo is broke, maybe she was just drinking the champagne because it was free. A girl’s got to get her calories somehow.

Picture note by Celebitchy: Thanks to TMZ for the header image. Here’s the brief video of Lohan drinking, also from TMZ:

Jessica Biel voted the cleanest celebrity

dirtyandclean.jpg
There are some awards in Hollywood that everyone is always clamoring to win: Emmys, Grammys… SAG awards. Then there are some awards people don’t care about either way. The Blockbuster awards… the Nickelodeon awards… VH-1 Honors, crap like that. And then there’s the awards you almost don’t want to win, like cleanest female celebrity award. Which is certainly better than being voted the dirtiest celebrity, but it’s still such a weirdly specific honor that it’s hard to know how to respond appropriately. Jessica Biel has won the title of cleanest celebrity, as voted by SoCal Cleanse Detox users. I know, the greatest prestige. I’m guessing most of the voters didn’t stop to think that Biel is dating Justin Timberlake, who used to date Britney Spears. So the odds are pretty good that Jessica is now harboring at least three unique strains of Chlamydia – through no fault of her own, of course.

Jessica Biel has been voted the “cleanest” female celebrity. ‘The Illusionist’ actress and girlfriend of Justin Timberlake was named the most healthy-living star by SoCal Cleanse Detox users, while Amy Winehouse was voted the “dirtiest” and most unhealthy. While Jessica, 26, walked away with the SoCal Cleanse Cleanest Celebrity Award for the women, David Beckham won the award for the healthiest male star.

Pamela Anderson’s rocker ex-husband Tommy Lee was voted “dirtiest” male, with 45 percent of the vote, and recovering alcoholic David Hasselhoff was chosen as the second unhealthiest celebrity with 22 percent of the vote. ‘Rehab’ singer Amy, 23, who is currently battling drink and drug addiction received a huge 47 percent of the vote to be chosen as the most unhealthy female star.

She has won the offer of a 12-month supply of SoCal Cleanse Detox Formula - a detox supplement - and a Detox Lifestyle Makeover with Detox and Fitness Expert Cynthia Lea.

[From AZ Central]

Something makes me think that Amy Winehouse probably won’t be taking them up on their offer. I think it’s an anathema to even say the words “Amy Winehouse” and “detox” in the same sentence. Ironically, it’s probably the celebs voted “the cleanest” that are most likely to avail themselves of a detox. In the last year I have done three colon cleanses and one two week detox. Amy Winehouse may have the guts to stick needles in her arm and have a tube shoved down her throat, but there’s no way she’s strong enough to endure day 3 of the Colon Blow regimen.

American Music Awards Picture Post; Jordin and Kelly do the Soulja Boy Dance

Last night’s American Music Awards were aired on ABC and featured some improv from mostly-absent host Jimmy Kimmel. Kimmel said that he was a member of the Writers Guild and that he couldn’t write all of his own jokes ahead of time, and that he was “striking in [his] heart.” Most of the jokes were written before the strike was in effect, but Kimmel was forced to ad lib for those moments reserved for more current material, and he drew some of the attendees into his act. It probably was about as entertaining as it would have been had he written the full script:

The awards which were aired on ABC already had the basic script written before the strike but he needed updates on current events and that was the part where he added his own words to the script.

Included in the improvised opening remarks, Kimmel said, “This is going to be a little bit loose tonight because I’m a member of the Writers Guild and we’re on strike.” He adds, “It may not look like it, but I’m striking right now in my heart. I wasn’t allowed to write any jokes for tonight. That’s good for those of you sitting in the front row, but bad for you who have to sit through made-up crap.”

Kimmel decided to go into the audience at the beginning of the show and interact with the celebrities. Initially, he convinced American Idol alums Kellie Pickler and Jordin Sparks to join him on stage to dance the hit single from Soulja Boy, “Crank Dat Soulja Boy.” As he handed out props such as dark sunglasses and a white baseball cap to Pickler and Sparks, he wore a white hooded jacket and the three started dancing until Soulja Boy came in from backstage to help them out with their dilemma.

The strike, which has been ongoing on its third week, didn’t faze Kimmel in his hosting. Some of his improvised lines included an introduction to Snoop Dogg as “one of America’s most beloved and arrested hip-hop stars.” And during his final remarks he thanked “Promises rehab facility for letting so many of our stars out for tonight’s program.”

[From All Headline News]

The NY Times TV Decoder blog notes that “it would have been hard for Ms. Pickler and Ms. Sparks to look more uncomfortable” after they were called on stage by Kimmel to do the Soulja Boy dance. Jordin could really do the dance, though, you have to give it to her, but Kelly just kind of shuffled around.

Here’s the clip:

Good Celebrity: Richard Gere wins humanitarian award

    top-gla-001014.jpg

It’s been a while since we’ve done a “Good Celebrity” article. No I don’t blame myself, I blame the celebrities as a whole for doing nothing good or worthwhile for a few weeks. And there’s a chance I forgot about the “Good Celebrity” thing. But it’s mostly their faults, nonetheless.

Richard Gere has gotten our Good Celebrity nomination a couple of times. He was one of those celebrities that was an activist long before it was the trendy thing to do. In fact he used to get teased for it a good deal. Look at how everyone’s following his lead? Yesterday Gere was given the prestigious Marian Anderson Award by the city of Philadelphia in recognition of his charitable, political, and philanthropic work.

Richard Gere, who has donated time and money to the causes for Tibetan independence and HIV/AIDS care, on Monday accepted a prestigious humanitarian award given by the city of Philadelphia. The actor was given the Marian Anderson Award, named after the black American opera singer who achieved international acclaim by the mid-1930s but faced racial segregation at home. Gere, 58, accepted the honor and its $100,000 honorarium at a gala at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.

“I’m not worthy of this award in any way whatsoever,” Gere said. “I can’t tell you how this makes me feel. My heart is so wide open.” Gere, a Buddhist, has advocated Tibetan independence from Chinese rule since 1978. He co-founded the Tibet House and is board chairman of the International Campaign for Tibet. He established Healing the Divide, a public charity for improving care for HIV/AIDS patients, and a philanthropic foundation bearing his name helps humanitarian organizations.

    [From the Associated Press]

I’m assuming the $100,000 will be donated to one of his charities. Gere has stayed pretty much under the radar lately and been focusing most of his time and attention on various charities, especially Tibet and AIDS. You’ll remember that he got in trouble after kissing actress Shilpa Shetty at an HIV/AIDS awareness summit. It was unfortunate because that debacle completely took the attention away from the organization they were there to promote. Gere eventually apologized, and has continued focusing more on charity than acting lately. Good celebrity! I feel like I should start giving out cookies or something.

Glamour Women of the Year Awards

The stars were out at Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards at Avery Fischer Hall in NY City last night. Jennifer Garner was accompanied by her husband, Ben Affleck, to accept her award as “The Icon Next Door.”

Senator John Edward’s wife, Elizabeth Edwards, was named “The Role Model,” and her award was presented by her children, Cate, Emma Claire and Jack. Elizabeth Edwards is a breast cancer survivor and is currently fighting stage four breast cancer that has spread to a spot on her rib. She is being treated with anti-estrogen drugs.

Young Abigail Breslin was named “The American Girl,” and famed author Toni Morrison was given a lifetime achievement award titled “The Voice of Our Time.”

Garner has an interview with Glamour in which she talks about balancing motherhood with her career and admits that she is a “goody-goody,” but is not immune to an occasional diva moment. She also says that she doesn’t pose on the red carpet with her husband Ben because she tries to avoid the needless speculation that goes along with that:

GLAMOUR: Your press is impeccable. Your fans adore you. Do you have a dark side, or are you a goody-goody?

JENNIFER GARNER: You totally called me out. I am a bit of a goody-goody. Not that there aren’t times when I think, I was kind of an asshole today. I work in a world in which people are really catered to; someone will come up to me and say, “Is it OK if this person’s makeup is done before yours for the premiere?” Right now Ben’s in Africa studying malaria and visiting slums with a lack of potable water and maternity wards where many women have HIV. So would I really put my energy into worrying that I’m second to get my makeup done? When you think about the bigger picture, it’s hard to not have some perspective.

GLAMOUR: Have you managed to find that balance for yourself?

JG: I’m trying to, but it’s hard: I just had a year off where I put every spoonful of food into [Violet’s] mouth. Now I’m working and though I’m usually with her more hours than not, some days I just can’t be. That’s hard for me, and for the first time, my daughter. Luckily my husband is a true partner, and he picks up where I leave off.

GLAMOUR: Is being in Hollywood hard on a relationship?

JG: We’ve worked really hard not to be one of those couples who are constantly in the limelight. In the past we’ve both been the kind of people who go along with things—if you’re supposed to be photographed together, you don’t question it. But how does that help your relationship? So now we refuse to walk the red carpet together: It’s a way of not condoning the attention. Plus, it just feels silly to be in that situation with him: Ben was nominated for a Golden Globe [for 2006’s Hollywoodland]. I remember being photographed next to him and thinking, This is ridiculous. You’re not some actor; you’re my husband.

Garner also talked about the causes she’s involved with, which include Hurricane Katrina victims and the Children’s Defense Fund.

As for whether nearly two-year-old Violet will have a career in show business, Garner doesn’t rule it out but says that she won’t allow her to get her start in it as a child.

Like Julia Roberts, Garner says she wants to help Britney Spears, and that she “wanted to go backstage and mother her” after her performance at the VMAs.

Garner said she doesn’t wear her Alias costumes for husband Ben at home, because that stuff isn’t that important to him since he doesn’t seem to notice how she looks. She said his lack of attention to her appearance is annoying when she’s dolled up for an event, because she wants to get him to comment on it, but that it usually works in her favor because “most of the time I’m a schlep.”

As for whether she’ll have another child, Garner says she will but that she’s not pregnant or trying yet.

Garner’s hero is her sister, who is “a mom and an accountant for the state of West Virginia.” She says that her sister is “able to juggle a job, kids, volunteer work and church, and she still manages to cook dinner every night without feeling bogged down.” If she’s anything like Jen, she probably does it all with a smile while looking fabulous.

Other women honored at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards include Dr. Victoria Hale, Donna Karan, Lara Logan, Lorena Ochoa, Mariane Pearl, Nancy Pelosi, Shonda Rhimes, and Alice Waters. The non-celebrity woman who was honored was Laura Crandall, a 39 year-old woman who founded the Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC) Program after losing her 15 month-old daughter to unknown causes.
