In Touch has a funny story to go along with the new fan pictures of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s 14-month-old twins, Knox and Vivienne. The fan pics came from an ice cream parlor outing in Jordan, and pretty much every magazine and gossip site has jacked those pictures over and over. I was thinking about that the other day – considering these are the first images of the twins we’ve seen in months, the guy who took the photos should have held on to the pictures and sold them to the highest bidder – he could be a millionaire by now. Poor guy.

Anyway, In Touch Weekly put up a surprisingly nice little story about the twins and what their lives are like. I guess the In Touch editor got tired of running “the last straw” breakup stories and decided to make up some stuff about the kids. According to IT, after Brad and Angelina’s UNHCR trip to Syria, they made the stop in Jordan at the request of Angelina’s friend Queen Noor, the former queen of Jordan. Queen Noor “wanted to meet the twins.” Interesting. Angelina and Queen Noor are friendly – according to reports, Angelina stayed in Noor’s palace when she traveled to Jordan in July with Maddox. Although their parents fight, the twins are certainly living a charmed life.

“Knox is mellow and loves to listen to music,” a family friend says. “Viv has Angie’s firecracker personality, but is so feminine.”

The twins are different but undeniably close. “They always hug and sleep together in a custom-built crib,” says the friend.

They have two nannies watching their every move, who keep them on a strict schedule. “They go to bed by 6 p.m. and are up at 6 a.m.,” and in their nursery, there’s a place to heat their bottles. Their siblings love being with them too.

“Z’s motherly, while Shi tells stories. Maddox draws pictures for them and Pax loves to make them painted macaroni necklaces.”

In addition to these pleasant fictions (“They always hug”? Even a Brangaloonie like me is gagging a little), In Touch has some little photo pull-outs with some added commentary that’s pretty awesome. Considering the twins reportedly sampled their parents’ ice cream during the Jordan outing, the tabloids can no longer make up stories about how the twins are sickly, fussy eaters. IT’s source confirms: “They’re very happy, healthy kids.” Also, they’re saying that “Angie always says that Knox is a mini-Brad” and that Vivienne has “the same features” as Angelina. Also, Viv is talking. Their source says: “If she wants to be picked up, she says ‘up-py.’” Too cute, right? Empress Zahara will teach her new words, don’t worry.

Yesterday Mariah Carey made a big deal about dispelling the longstanding belief that she’s a total diva. Unfortunately, while her words said one thing, her actions said another: she’s still a total diva. In fact MSNBC has a detailed article about the ridiculous lengths Carey’s staff has to go to in order to ensure she’s constantly protected (security sweeps before concerts, none of the venue’s own staff allowed in), given access to proper stylists (demanding six figures for her hair and makeup people alone), and generally catered to at all times. But don’t worry, she’s not some crazy diva.

Mariah Carey is not without flaws, as evidenced by the title of her new album “Confessions of an Imperfect Angel,” but her behavior on her current publicity tour is calling into question the veracity of the angelic claim as well.

“Her security is doing walk-throughs of her performance locations prior to her appearances, as if she’s the president or something,” said one person who was present at one such sweep.

It’s even more intense on the day of a Carey performance, says the source. “She’ll show up with more than a dozen people on her team, and she’s been asking that the people who actually work there are removed from the floor and only her staffers be present,” said the source, who adds that the demand is not always met.

The level of high maintenance Carey is displaying while promoting both “Imperfect Angel” and her new film, “Precious”, didn’t surprise one person, who has worked with Carey in the past.

“We were paying for her travel, her expenses, and yet she still wanted to be compensated nearly six figures just for hair and makeup,” said the source.

I imagine bomb sniffing dogs and security guys hanging from the rafters, all in an attempt to make sure Mariah is totally safe at any given moment. I understand having security, and I understand being worried when you’re famous. But is Mariah Carey really the biggest target? Unless some person were forced to sit through Glitter, I doubt they actually hold a homicidal grudge against her.

Mariah is still on the baby talk circuit. Meaning all she’s doing is chatting up the potential children that she and Nick Cannon want to have, while insisting she’s not pregnant. It’s starting to get a little annoying – if you want to have kids, then have them already! Stop telling us about your secret baby names and all this hypothetical nonsense.

Mariah Carey has given the biggest hint yet that she’s planning to become a mom — she’s been choosing baby names with her husband Nick Cannon!

The singer insists she isn’t pregnant — but she is prepared.

“We have to keep the name secret because if we told everybody, then somebody might use it and then we have to change it, and then it wouldn’t be as good,” she said Tuesday on SIRIUS XM’s Morning Mash Up. “We picked these names out a long time ago.”

In that same article Mariah also claims she likes to go out in public disguised in Nick’s clothes. I’m sorry, but I bet I could count on one hand the number of times I’ve seen Mariah in anything other than a too-short lycra-infuse dress. We’ve just gone over all the ways in which Mariah is not low maintenance. Are we really supposed to buy that she’s in Nick’s jeans and a t-shirt? But remember, this is the new Mariah. The low key, relaxed, down to earth Mariah. She loves babies and puppies and big fuzzy sweatshirts. As long as they’re all custom made with pink diamonds. Dogs included.

This report from the Enquirer seems like it could totally be false, but many of you seem to enjoy analyzing the situation between Eddie Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes, so I thought I’d bring you this latest little slice. By the way, I’m totally there with all of you – this B-List scandal has it all for me – scandal, “homewrecking”, stalking, delusions, media battles, photo-ops, tragedy, bitchy quotes and hilarity. It’s a self-sustaining soap opera and I love every minute of it.

A few days ago, we heard that Eddie and his ex, Brandi Glanville, were attempting to proceed with their divorce in an amicable way. After spending a significant amount of time trying to destroy Eddie in the press, Brandi seemed to be singing a new tune. All of a sudden, she and Eddie seemed to be getting along, and they were even photographed at their son’s soccer game - together! I theorized, “Brandi is looking for a way to drive a wedge between Eddie and LeAnn, and she figures that it will piss LeAnn off if Eddie is now getting along with his ex-wife.”

It looks like LeAnn still has some arrows in her quiver, though. Despite warnings that Eddie’s an unreformed womanizer, LeAnn seems to be hellbent on providing as many media outlets with stories about how she and Eddie are totally in love, preparing to marry, and planning on lots of babies. This report from the National Enquirer is about the “cozy ranch” she and Eddie have leased. Apparently, they liked the house because it had a “huge backyard” and “room to spare” for all of the babies Eddie and LeAnn are going to have:

There’s really no doubt in my mind that LeAnn has her sights set on marriage and babies. What I can’t figure out is how on-board Eddie is. Part of me thinks he’s going along for the ride, knowing that Brandi will take him to the cleaners and that LeAnn will have the cash to support him ad infinitum. The other part of me thinks that Eddie seems to be looking for a way out, and that LeAnn is probably not his only “girlfriend”. He looks like a guy who wants to be dating lots of girls and having fun, not stuck in some fussy ranch house planning his next family with LeAnn. I really don’t know.

As much as the world mocked Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon for getting married so quickly, they actually seem to be doing alright. I can’t quite explain it, but whenever I see the interviewed I can’t help but think that they make sense somehow. They’re still publicity wh*res and all that, but I don’t totally dislike them like I used to. They seem to balance each other out a bit. But, again, being the fame lovers they are, the couple naturally had to sit down with In Touch to talk about babies and marriage and death. Because when in doubt, chat about one of those three and someone will listen. Chat about all of them and you get the magazine’s cover.

After weathering so many ups and downs throughout her career, Mariah Carey has never seemed more at peace. Strolling into a Brazilian restaurant in New York City for an exclusive interview with In Touch, Mariah is nothing like the diva she’s perceived to be. The Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter looks gorgeous, wearing little makeup and dressed casually in black pants, a black shirt and big black belt. Usually guarded about her love life, this time, she’s brought along her husband, Nick Cannon. “I love where I am in life right now,” Mariah, 39, tells In Touch as she sips on a glass of cabernet. And why shouldn’t she? She’s got a man who writes her love notes each morning, even after a year-and-a-half of marriage. She’s got a highly anticipated new album, which dropped September 29. Over dinner, the couple opened up to In Touch about their solid marriage, having a baby and more.

So, are you ready for kids?
Mariah: Definitely, we want a family.
Nick: Yes, of course. It’s at the forefront of our minds. We’re very close. But we want to enjoy our first year together. We didn’t have a stable environment. The first year we were in LA in a hotel and then we were like, “Let’s get a house.”
Mariah: But don’t think I’m moving to LA.
Nick: We live in both places. We need to figure out where we are going to raise our kids. Here or LA.
Mariah: New York.
Nick: LA.

How many kids?
Nick: We’d like two.
Mariah: Of course, we’d be happy with one. I want to be able to manage the right amount of attention. We are so busy — if you have six kids running around, no one gets what they need. Kids need a lot of attention.

Would you consider adoption?
Nick: It’s never out of the question. I was raised by my grandmother, who was also a foster mom, so I grew up around a lot of kids.

So you can see yourself having one by the end of 2010?
Mariah: Yeah. What do you think?
Nick: I think that’s what the world is waiting for.
Mariah: Oh, my goodness, that’s so much pressure on our kids!

It seems like 40 is a pivotal age in Hollywood.
Mariah: I find it offensive. It unfairly taints women in particular, and makes people look at you differently. I lived with that my whole life. Honestly, I never thought I’d live this long.

You thought you’d die by now?
Mariah: I have always been grateful for everything I had, but my personal life was a mess. So many artists just exist for their careers and then burn out quickly. That was me before I met Nick, and he helped me. I always thought that I wouldn’t be here at this point. I was thinking, “Okay, I’ve got another year of my life left. This has got to be the end of it.” Finally, he was like, “Stop talking like that.” I have been obsessed with the whole Marilyn Monroe thing my whole life — all those artists who died young.

I like how Nick said they’d like two kids and Mariah quickly interjects that they’d be fine with one. Before she married him, Mariah had said she didn’t want kids at all. Of course she quickly changed her tune after they’d walked down the aisle. Regardless, it seems like she’s being reasonable when she’s explaining her reason for not wanting a large family, but I sort of get the impression Nick would be happy with a lot of kids. He just seems the sort.

Mariah has certainly had her mental health problems in the past, including a breakdown that landed her in the hospital. But after that she rebounded and started putting out the best songs of her career. It’s sad but not really surprising to hear that she felt so lost and sad that she never thought she’d live another year. It sounds like she was lonely and needed someone to anchor her, and Nick probably does that. We tease that he’s really her personal assistant, but it seems like he has a way of helping her out and being attentive to her and he does it without a fuss. I guess if you were pessimistic you could equate that to a personal assistant, but if you were optimistic you could also say that sort of attentiveness is indicative of a very devoted spouse.

Of course I’m also totally biased because I saw Nick interviewed on the Today Show last week about “America’s Got Talent” (which he hosts) and he was so cute when he was talking about the kids on the show. He’s very charming. I may be totally naïve, but I think he genuinely loves Mariah. I still think she doesn’t really want to have kids, but she must love him too if she’s willing to negotiate on it.

Part of this is old news, or news we just assumed a while ago, but it’s still interesting to see it confirmed in any way. Last week, Jude Law’s baby Sophia was finally born – Sophia’s mother is Samantha Burke, and Sophia is the product of a glorified one-night (or perhaps two-night) stand. As soon as Samantha gave birth, a few strains of gossip started up – like, Jude was not in Florida for the birth of his baby. He was too busy on Broadway, playing Hamlet. At the same time, there were some whispers that Jude had no real plans to visit, but I actually thought he might fly down for a day when it was convenient for both he and Samantha. Turns out, not much.

Several days ago the Telegraph’s gossip guy Mandrake reported that Jude wouldn’t meet Sophia until December at the earliest. That’s when the run of Hamlet ends. According to Mandrake’s sources, “Jude thinks that if he goes to Florida immediately, it will be a media circus… He doesn’t see why he should give the paparazzi the pleasure. Jude is keen to see Sophia and will make sure that he visits her before he returns to Britain.” Well… maybe Jude sent Samantha a gift basket or something. A gift basket with cash.

The second part of this “Jude Law doesn’t even want to think about being a baby-daddy” story is that it seems as if a media miracle has occurred! As Jude promoted the run of Hamlet in New York, it looks like no one is asking him about Samantha or Sophia, at all. Could it be that Jude will only go on “friendly” interviews where the interviewer has sworn not to ask Jude any uncomfortable questions?

At least one subject might be off-limits when it comes to Jude Law.

The star was on “Regis & Kelly” Friday morning, promoting his stint in the Broadway production of “Hamlet” — but one very obvious topic didn’t come up. He was never asked him about his daughter, Sophia,who was just born to model Samantha Burke.

Our source said, “He has banned interviewers from asking about it before agreeing to sit with them.” Law’s rep called the claim “ridiculous” and said, “No subjects are banned.”

“No subjects are banned.” Uh… right. Because celebrity interviewers are so notoriously polite, and they never want to ask uncomfortable questions. Jude’s rep sounds like a lying douche. Of course Jude makes deals – nice coverage, or no interview. It’s as simple as that. And Kelly Ripa and others go along with it because they’re not real journalists. Here’s the thing, though – what would be so wrong with Jude getting a couple of questions about the situation? What’s the worst that could happen? The question would still probably be phrased in a nice way, something like, “Are you happy to be a father for the fourth time?” or something like that. To which Jude could say, “Yes, I’m very happy.” Scandal!

Jude Law’s baby-mama Samantha Burke gave birth to their daughter yesterday, a little girl Samantha named Sophia. Jude’s play Hamlet is already in preview performances in New York, and he was photographed in New York yesterday. He’s also scheduled for a New York appearance today, so I seriously doubt he was anywhere near the Florida hospital where Samantha gave birth, or that he has any plans to take a flight down to see his fourth child. At first, People Magazine had a bitchy quote from some unnamed source about how Jude wasn’t at the birth of his fourth child, but People took it down within a few hours, replacing it with Jude’s initial statement, from when he announced Samantha’s pregnancy:

Less than two months after he acknowledged that a model he had dated was pregnant with his child, Jude Law is a father – again.

Samantha Burke, the 24-year-old aspiring actress whom Law met while filming Sherlock Holmes in New York City last year, gave birth to a 5-lb., 12-oz daughter Tuesday night.

“Samantha Burke is overwhelmed with joy at the arrival of her beautiful and healthy baby girl, Sophia,” Burke’s rep, Eileen Koch, tells PEOPLE. “The baby and mom are doing wonderful.”

Law, 36, who has three other children with ex-wife Sadie Frost, is currently appearing in a Broadway production of Hamlet, now in previews.

Law’s rep acknowledged the pregnancy in a statement released last July after reports surfaced in the media that Burke was expecting.

“Jude Law can confirm that, following a relationship last year, he has been advised that he is to be the father of a child due in the fall of this year,” the actor’s rep said. “Mr. Law is no longer in a relationship with the individual concerned but he intends to be a fully supportive part of the child’s life. This is an entirely private matter and no other statements will be made.”

While it’s not really any of my business, I do think it shows that despite the “I’m going to be involved” statements Jude has made, he really isn’t going to be part of Sophia’s life. One of Samantha’s friends told the British papers, “Besides financial support, he’s not involved.” No mention of what kind of monthly payments Jude will have to shell out, but I suspect it’s somewhere near the $10,000 a month being reported. Samantha claimed she wasn’t a golddigger, but she might as well name her daughter Sophia Cash Money. There are also reports that Samantha Burke will be selling the first pictures of little Sophia to the highest bidder – and my guess is that Jude won’t be around for the photo session, either.

Ellen Pompeo and her husband Chris Ivery welcomed their baby girl at long last. Ellen’s rep tells Us Weekly that Ellen gave birth on September 15 – which was last Tuesday. Uh… someone didn’t stay on this for some kind of timely update? No paparazzo got a shot of Ellen entering a hospital last week? Very strange, right? I’m sure that Ellen and Chris just wanted their privacy, and wanted to enjoy the first week with their baby in peace.

Ellen and Chris named the little girl Stella Luna Pompeo Ivery. I kind of like it. Stella is a really popular name in Hollywood – there’s Stella McCartney, Stella Tennant, Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffiths’ daughter is named Stella, as is Tori Spellings’ daughter. I like “Luna” too – it’s a cute middle name.

Meredith Grey is a mom! Grey’s Anatomy actress Ellen Pompeo and husband Chris Ivery have welcomed their first child, a girl, her rep tells Usmagazine.com exclusively.

“Her name is Stella Luna Pompeo Ivery,” her rep tells Us. “She was born Sept. 15 in Los Angeles.”

Pompeo, 39, and the music producer, 41 — who tied the knot at a small ceremony in 2007 — announced they were expecting in April.

“It’s a huge lifestyle change, and I take that very seriously,” she told Allure in 2008 of motherhood. “[Chris and I] enjoy our life so much. We go to Europe and sleep in. So when I have the baby, I won’t feel like we’ve missed any fun, reckless times together, like staying up all night drinking champagne and having sex until five in the morning and not having to get up until two in the afternoon.”

Her Grey’s costar, Jessica Capshaw, told Us Pompeo was ready to be a mom.

“She is so on top of it, and she is so excited, and she is very sweet about it,” she told Us in May. “She is doing her research.”

Added Capshaw, “She is exactly the way that she should be about it, which is really excited and hopeful but at the same time really pragmatic and planning. And I think that is the best way for her to be.”

The new season of Grey’s Anatomy starts Sept. 24. Her costar Katherine Heigl recently adopted a baby girl from Korea.

Congratulations to the happy family! I’m sure Ellen is over the moon – it felt like she was pregnant a really long time. I’m still kind of wondering why it took them so long to announce – do you think it’s for one of the bad reasons? Like, there might have been complications during childbirth, and Ellen is still hospitalized? I hope not, I really do. I’m also wondering about those reports that Chris has a 19-year-old mistress on the side – and maybe he and Ellen aren’t getting along these days. It’s all probably nothing. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, hoping everyone is happy and healthy!

“Buffy the Vampire Slayer” star Sarah Michelle Gellar (who just changed her surname to Prinze) and her husband, actor Freddie Prinze Jr., are now the proud parents of a new baby girl. Little Charlotte Grace Prinze made her debut Sept. 19, according to the couple’s rep.

Sarah Michelle Prinze and husband Freddie Prinze Jr. are parents, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.

The couple “welcomed their daughter Charlotte Grace Prinze on Saturday, Sept. 19,” says a rep for the actress. “The family is over the moon.”

This is the first child for the couple, who revealed that they were expecting back in April.

Freddie Prinze Jr. will star on the upcoming season of 24. Sarah Michelle recently changed her last name from Gellar to Prinze.

Fatherhood seems to fit “Spiderman” star Tobey Maguire very well. He always looks so relaxed and at ease with his children – who happen to be completely adorable. Maguire and his family – wife Jennifer Meyer and daughter, Ruby Sweetheart, were out and about over the weekend with their newest addition, baby boy Otis, born in May. Maguire is notoriously quiet on the subject of his family, and waited a few months before releasing his son’s name to the press. It’s obvious that his wife and kids are pretty much the center of his universe, which is more than a little awesome.

I love being a dad and I love my daughter. It’s amazing. It’s like everybody says. All the cliché’s are true. It’s indescribable and you just have to be there to understand it. You don’t really get it until you’re there.

If you’re wondering why you haven’t seen Tobey in a movie recently, don’t worry: according to IMDB.com, the actor has about 11 films in various stages of production, including Spiderman 4, currently in pre-production. A lot of people didn’t think this film was going to happen, including Maguire. He had said several times that the only way he’d suit up for Spidey again was if Sam Raimi was back as the director; Raimi had gone on record saying that he would only be directing the next installment of the franchise if the script was right. Looks like the script was right – because the movie is happening, and Spiderman 5 is reportedly in development, too. But for now, it looks like Tobey can just have fun being a dad to his two cute kids until the Spiderman whirlwind kicks in again.

As many predicted, it seems like Sarah Jessica Parker has left her 3-month-old twins in the care of Matthew Broderick and assorted nannies. Before Tabitha and Marion were even born, several sources had SJP and Broderick fighting over their schedules and how best to care for the babies. When the twins came home, Life & Style announced that Broderick would be taking time out of his schedule to look after the twins, while SJP would work on SATC 2. Now Star Magazine is reporting that SJP had to go to work on Sex and the City 2 so quickly after twins Marion and Tabitha that she hasn’t had time to bond with her babies. SJP is working 12 to 14 hour days, and she barely has any time to spend with her family:

Sarah Jessica Parker is so wrapped up making Sex and the City 2 that she’s having trouble bonding with her 3-month-old twin girls, Marion and Tabitha.

“It breaks her heart, but she just doesn’t have a lot of time,” an insider tells Star, adding that the actress often reports to the movie’s NYC set as early as 7 a.m. and doesn’t finish shooting until late.

When done, SJP immediately heads to the West Village home she shares with her husband, Matthew Broderick, and their 6-year-old son, James, and the twins.

“She checks in on everyone; then it’s off to bed where she looks over her script before passing out,” says the insider.

Even on her day off, SJP works. She had a morning meeting, a business lunch and another appointment on Sept. 6.

“She’s beyond exhausted,” says the insider. “It’s not ideal timing for her to have two babies at home, but she’s doing the best she can.”

I do feel for SJP, because it must be difficult to keep that kind of schedule. But I don’t feel too badly, because it’s not as if SJP is just some average working mom with no control over her schedule. The thing is that the twins were born via a surrogate, so a lot of time and forethought went into their family planning, and the timing of it. And SJP is an executive producer on SATC 2 – she could have easily changed the filming schedule, pushing it back so she could have more time at home. No one is forcing her to keep this schedule – she could have said no. It really would have been that simple. My conclusion is that her first priority was getting SATC 2 filmed and ready for a summer 2010 release, and not on bonding with her babies.
