The latest celebrity on bump watch is 21 year-old Canadian singer, Avril Lavigne. Lavigne has been engaged to Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley, 25, since June 2005. The two have owned a home together in Beverly Hills for nearly two years. Lavigne has a small heart-shaped pink tattoo on her right wrist inscribed with the letter “D”.

In the latest pictures we have of Lavigne at the Nylon Guys Issue launch party on 3/14 she is wearing two layered shirts and it’s hard to see her tummy. Her fiancee is also hiding his left hand. Lavigne is certainly in a stable relationship, and although she’s young she seems responsible enough to have a child. Only time will tell if she’s actually pregnant.

We haven’t kept up with the Spederlines the past two days and like you we’re sick of them, but still interested in a rubbernecking way. Here are the highlights.

Jessica Simpson brought her trout pout to Congress yesterday to hold a press conference on behalf of the charity she represents, Operation Smile. News outlets were aghast that she had supposedly snubbed Bush by backing out of a Republican fundraiser later that evening, but her controlling daddy insists that she just loves the dictator to pieces and didn’t want to politicize the cause.

Meanwhile Simpson wants to jump on the adoption bandwagon, and admits that she apes Angelina Jolie in everything she does:

Give us a break, Simpson. You don’t even have a boyfriend after that smarmy rocker dumped you by instant message. Chances are you’re going to forget you even said this within a month.

Reports that Pitt and Jolie are marrying in Italy has Italian villiagers and reporters all in a tizzy. A local hotel is cleaning up in what is said to be preparation for the wedding. It sounds like a hoax to us:

We reported a few days ago that the couple was said to be planning a wedding on a boat in the middle of Lake Como, but that we thought the story was pulled out of someone’s butt.

Other rumors include:
Brad Pitt’s family supposedly wants him to marry Angelina right away. They think Brad should secure his rights to the children should the couple break up.

And skinny Angie is said to be planning plastic surgery should she have trouble shaping up after the baby is born.

Even if she gains a few pounds or sags in places, she’s sure to remain the favorite pin-up of lesbians everywhere.

Ok, the latest news is that US Weekly claims that Britney is not pregnant, she’s just all puffed up from a bad C-section scar infection and is drinking a lot to ease her pain.

She also stepped on a needle while barefoot and was rushed to hospital for the umpteenth time this month. Maybe she can call Pammy for help coping with hepatitis. We hear that a lot of drinking helps that condition, too.

The girl is a mess. We reported two weeks ago that her new perfume is called “In Control.” We’re not going to make an obvious, cheap shot. We just hope the stuff lives up to its name.

All kidding aside, the needle does not seem to have infected her with anything. Her husband also used her credit card to send her flowers.

Britney Spears does not know how to cut her losses. Instead, she’s attempting to miminize them by putting Kevin on a budget:

Page Six goes on to quote a source that witnessed Britney screaming at Kevin on her cell phone for not visiting her all day.

Obviously things are strained between Britney and Kevin. There’s also been a lot of speculation that she’s pregnant. The latest news is that she told someone at the Four Season’s spa that she’s pregnant and that she cancelled a photoshoot because of her growing midsection.

While some call the latest photos of Britney in a bikini inconclusive, a video of Britney walking in Hawaii on March 4th shows the pop star with a discernable bump as she moves around:

Christina Aguilera has some news outlets guessing that she’s pregnant after her remarks about wanting a family. She clearly says that she won’t be trying until late next year, though, and the speculation seems unwarranted. Britian’s Mirror reports:

We posted pictures of Aguilera drunk just a few days ago, making it doubly unlikely that she’s pregnant.

Paying attention to Britney Spears is like rubbernecking. You have to try really, really hard not to do it, and everyone does it even though it slows us all down.

Britney is supposedly three months pregnant and is planning to leave Kevin to raise the baby “alone.” Here is a thrilling video of the family walking down the street. According to Marie, who puts up all of the best paparazzi photos on the JJB board, the two are staying in separate hotels on the island of Maui.

In these latest photos, Britney sucks in her stomach while shopping and Kevin sucks on a phallic ice cream treat while “filming a video.”

Naomi Watts has mentioned that she would like to take some time off from acting and “start a family.” That’s celebrity code for “I’m pregnant.” Watts is on minor bump-alert watch after wearing a complicated dress with a shredded front to the Oscars. A piece of gauze draped over her midsection may have been a misguided attempt to hide a small bump. Her Oscar after-party dress was an ugly flower print number with a flouncy lace front and even more tummy coverage.

Female First reports that Watts had to be sewn into her Givenchy Oscar gown. Surely that means she’s gained a little where it counts:

Watts admits that she eats. That is also celebrity-speak for “I’m pregnant.”

The article goes on to quote Watts saying that she wants to take time off to “start a family.” I wanted to jump all over that, because it sounds as if she’s hinting at a pregnancy. Sadly, those comments were made back in December, when there was only a small amount of buzz about Watt’s potential pregnancy.

Watts has been dating Liev Schrieber for almost a year.

If anyone gains a little weight or wears an unflattering dress in Hollywood, they’re pregnant.
