It’s been awhile since we indulged in some shameless Katy Perry gossip, so let’s kick this off in grand fashion with a video clip. While I was at the gym yesterday sweating my ass off on a treadmill, I happened to spot the latest Adidas commercial (on ESPN, natch) featuring Katy Perry and David Beckham (along with Lionel Messi and Derrick Rose) running to the tune of Katy’s latest “Part of Me” single. Let’s just say I wasn’t terribly inspired by either Beckham or Perry’s running faces:

That’s not really gossip though, so let’s get on with some proper business. Katy has enjoyed a few weeks’ respite from the tabloids, but everything renews itself afresh with this week’s issues. According to this week’s issue of Star (via Jezebel), Katy has dumped the highest-paid male model in the world, Baptiste Giabiconi, despite a romantic Eurostar date, because he was reportedly using her to make music connections (as well as pushing her to record a duet) in Los Angeles, which is essentially what Kaiser already predicted of the Karl Lagerfeld muse de jour. Mr. Giabiconi certainly does look quite in love with himself in this Paris Fashion Week photo, right?

Meanwhile, this week’s issue of Us Weekly would have us believe that Katy is still pining for estranged hubby Russell Brand, and her desire has only been heightened by the fact that Russell has moved on with such speed and frequency. Here is a photo of Russell with his latest girlfriend, Nikolett Barabas, who is not to be confused with this chick or the People-profiled Oriela Medellin. Katy is reportedly crushed and wants Russell’s affections pointed backwards in her own rightful direction:

India holds special meaning for Katy Perry. It’s where her estranged husband, Russell Brand, popped the question in late 2009 and where the couple wed 10 months later. “She regards it as a beautiful and spiritual palce,” says a Perry family friend. So when the singer made a solo return to the country — to perform at the opening ceremony for the Indian Premiere League of pro cricket players on April 3 — she couldn’t help but feel a bit nostalgic. “She’d already been missing Russell,” a close pal admits. “Being back there stirred up even more old feelings.”

Not to mention a few regrets. At first furious about Brand’s December 30 filing, a source says, a lonely and desperate Perry is now second-guessing herself, wondering if she could have done more to save the pair’s 14-month union. “She feels guilty that she wasn’t there fore him more,” says the close pal, adding that the eight-time Grammy nominee, 27, questions whether she should have deprioritized her career and caved to Brand’s demands to start a family. And though the eccentric former sex and drug addict, 36, was hardly the ideal husband — he lashed out when she spent time with her friends, say insiders — Perry has been reaching out to him. “Katy’s been trying to get him back!” says the close pal, adding, “She’s a lost soul right now.”

Three months ago, Perry was more interested in revenge. The singer channeled her anger into the bitter ditty “Part of Me,” and told pas she was thrilled to be single. When her ex stepped out with Hungarian model Nikolette Barabas, 32, Perry retaliated with a model fling of her own: In early March, she hit the Paris nightclub scene with 22-year-old Baptiste Giabiconi. But the romance was quick-lived. “He was a plaything,” a pal says of the French-bred fashionisto. “Just to show Russell she was doing OK.”

But Perry still pined for her mischievous ex. “She’s had moments of sadness,” says an insider. And her sentimental India travels continue to resonate. “Now she wants to get back into yoga,” says the close pal. “that was something he was always more into than she was.”

Perry’s not the only one doing a little reflecting. The newly single Brand “was having flings, but he didn’t connect with anybody,” the pal says of the British comic. “It just felt empty.” Still, regrets aside, a reconciliation is a long shot: The couple’s ivorce will be finalized in July. Says the Perry pal, “Right now, Katy and Russel are trying to get to the point hwere they can at least be friends.”

“She regrets not appreciating what she had,” says a friend of Perry.

Okay, I can sort of buy that Katy regrets how she and Russell’s end-of-marriage days went down, but at the same time, I can also empathize with her career ambitions. As much as I enjoy picking on Katy’s inane pop music, it would have been senseless for her to set aside her (inexplicably) volleying career to have a baby when she didn’t feel ready to do just that. After all, resentment does not breed a healthy environment for child rearing no matter how delicately one frames it. The way I see it, Katy and Russell really weren’t meant to last, and fortunately, one of them (Russell) figured out they were each entrenched very different phases of life before wasting too much time time together.

Here’s a photo of Russell doing lunch before heading to one of his AA meetings. He might look like a total scuzzball (and increasingly so), but at least he’s committed to maintaining his sobriety.

Agent Bedhead has been covering a lot of Katy Perry news lately, but sometimes I like to dip my toe in just because Katy has become one of those “WTF?” celebrities. As in, WTF is she doing? WTF is she wearing? These are photos of Katy at last night’s Echo Awards in Germany. Lana del Rey was there. Yeah. Lana and Katy were buddy-buddy on the red carpet too. That says something, to me at least. Anyway, I absolutely loathe Katy’s current blue hair, and I don’t get why she feels the need to do these Flinstones-inspired hairstyles. As for Katy’s Paco Rabanne dress… um… okay. It’s, like, made of mirrored plates contouring her body. Like she’s the embodiment of a disco ball.

In other Katy Perry news, can you believe that people are still trying to convince us that Katy and model Baptiste Giabiconi are a thing? And please, don’t yell at me. I know all male models aren’t gay. I know that you can’t just look at someone and know that they’re gay. But this boy is totally gay. Still, we’re being sold this romance:

Katy Perry’s new romance with French model and musician Baptiste Giabiconi is heating up, and he’s thinking about a move to Los Angeles to be closer to the singer.

“He’s considering moving to LA, at least for some time,” a rep for Giabiconi, who is signed to DNA Model Management and is also a singer, confirmed to Page Six. “He’s really focusing on his music career from France, but he’s always traveling for his modeling career.”

The rep added that Giabiconi’s relationship with Perry is still in its early days: “It’s new, they’re feeling it out, but they’re spending a lot of time together.”

Perry was married to British comedian Russell Brand for 18 months, until he filed for divorce in December. Their divorce will be finalized in July. Last year, Giabiconi shared his feelings to a reporter about then-married Perry, telling fashion magazine Dansk, “If I could make her divorce her husband, I’d marry her.”

Well-groomed Giabiconi is a “far cry” from the scruffy, shaggy-haired Brand, we’re told.

“When it comes to having a real-hot man to escort her around, you can’t go wrong with Baptiste Giabiconi,” his rep quipped.

Perry and Giabiconi have been spotted together in Paris nightclubs this week, where they were described as “cute,” smiling and laughing together. “Katy looked really happy and in a good place,” a friend told us.

The new couple was photographed cuddling aboard the Eurostar train from London and disembarking in Paris, looking content.

Perry and Giabiconi sat together in the front row at the fall/winter 2012 Chanel runway show in Paris earlier this month. But Perry’s rep told us she “does not comment on Katy’s personal life.”

Giabiconi is a face of Chanel and has been described by Karl Lagerfeld as “a boy version of Gisele Bündchen: skinny, skinny but with an athletic body — good for clothes and great with no clothes.” Perry clearly agrees.

There’s just so much information packed into that story, right? Of course he’s the “boy version of Gisele” – they both have slim hips and both are sexually attracted to Tom Brady. And, “When it comes to having a real-hot man to escort her around, you can’t go wrong with Baptiste Giabiconi” – the operative word being “escort”. So it’s obvious to me that Baptiste’s rep is really trying to make this happen in a big way – perhaps to get Baptiste more exposure in America, and more work internationally? But why is Katy going along with it?

Maybe she’s not. Us Weekly reports that Katy and Baptiste traveled together from London to Paris earlier this week on the Eurostar (the train), but an “observer” says that they just looked like friends, not lovers: “They were all chatting away like best friends – looking at magazines, looking out the window, just relaxing. They just looked like two people traveling with a group of friends.” So maybe Katy just found her new gay BFF?

A few weeks ago Katy Perry was prancing around Paris Fashion Week and got herself linked up (gossip-wise) with the highest-paid male male model in the world, Baptiste Giabiconi. At the time, many of you found the idea quite amusing because Baptiste is widely known as the muse to Karl Lagerfeld, which may or may not carry certain other implications. Further, the photos of Baptiste and Katy sitting in the front row of the Chanel show seemed to indicate that these two were not interested in each other at all.

Well Katy’s been hanging out in London over the past few days, and throughout this post, I’ve included photos of the various “wacky” outfits that she’s worn around town. But more important to our current interests is the fact that (according to the Fame/Flynet photo agency) she and Baptiste arrived together in a Eurostar in London on Monday. So are they just feeding the rumors, or are they truly seeing each other? Who knows. Whatever the case, I think Katy has moved towards using a blue wig instead of touching up her own roots.

In the meantime, here’s some more Katy-oriented drama. The blue-haired one has been accused of dissing Beyonce and Shakira by telling BBC Radio 1 that their song, “Beautiful Liar,” is essentially the exact opposite of what she wants to record during her rumored future collaboration with Rihanna. Here’s the dress that Katy wore during the interview as well as her slightly sanctimonious words that have launched a mini-controversy:

Katy Perry made a subtle dig at fellow pop superstar Beyonce during a recent interview with BBC Radio 1 (via PopDust).

Perry, 27, is in the midst of planning a duet with her BFF Rihanna. “We’ve collaborated on a lot of things, but just not songs yet,” the “Part of Me” singer said. “It’s one of those things that’s got so much build up that we have to deliver.”

And Perry she knows just what she doesn’t want the song to sound like. “I want it to be like that Eurythmics and Aretha Franklin song ‘Sisters Are Doin’ It for Themselves,’” she said of a classic female empowerment tune from 1985. “Not ‘Beautiful Liar.’”

“Beautiful Liar” would be Beyonce’s smash 2007 collaboration with Shakira, which hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

Perry added of her not-yet-record Rihanna ditty: “How disappointed would you be if that song came out and it’s no good? Sometimes you have to wait for greatness.”

Miss Katy sounds so sure of herself, doesn’t she? Kaiser thinks she’s completely “full of herself,” which is certainly the case, but I don’t know why we’d expect otherwise from a spoiled pop princess. Yet this may not be the diss that Us is making it out to be. If I understand the meaning of “Beautiful Liar” correctly (and I don’t claim to know that much about pop music), the lyrics reference two women who (unbeknownst to each other) are dating the same man, and when they discover this fact, both women decide he’s not worth it and dump his sorry ass. So all Katy is really saying is that she’d prefer to forgo that kind of backstory and just crank out a more straightforward female empowerment tune instead. Of course, Katy and Rihanna will probably screw it up, but we’ll have to wait and see.

As far as the “controversy” with Katy’s statement is concerned, it really doesn’t exist at all. Honestly, the only surprise in this story is that Katy chose to mention Beyonce’s collaboration with Shakira instead of taking aim at Beyonce and Lady Gaga’s “Telephone.” Now that would’ve been a diss.

Here’s Katy with a softer-looking hairdo that doesn’t seem nearly as wiggy as in the above photos. I’m thinking this is her more “natural” blue hair, which doesn’t look that bad in these pin curls at all.

Last week, Katy Perry was all about showing off her alternatingly hardcore, wacky, and butt-baring outfits at Paris Fashion Week. Now an odd little story has filtered out of the post-celebratory residue, and Katy is being “linked” to a French male model named Baptiste Giabiconi. Of course, he’s not just any model — he’s the most highly paid male model in the world. This story sounds a bit off to me and partially based upon the front row seating arrangement at the Chanel show, where Katy was stationed right next to Baptiste. Based upon catwalk photos from the show, they don’t seem terribly interested in each other, but the Mail thinks otherwise:

The ink is only just dry on her divorce papers but Katy Perry is clearly a girl who believes in moving forward as soon as possible. And if today’s reports are anything to go by, the pop star is doing just that with a sexy male model from France.

The Teenage Dream singer has been linked with Baptiste Giabiconi, who is the highest paid male model in the world. According to Celebzter.com, the pair met during Paris Fashion Week at the Chanel runaway show.

A source said: “He was sitting next to her at the show. Then we all had dinner the other night, they were holding hands and looking cozy, and now they are inseparable.”

Princess Kasia Al-Thani, a close friend of Baptiste, added that the 22-year-old hunk is “smitten” with Katy. She said: “Baptiste is an incredible model, musician, and humanitarian. He is a great guy and he’s totally smitten, and Katy is the perfect girl for him.”

The Sun also reported that the pair were spotted out last night outside a five-star hotel in the city and looked very cosy together.

And a source told the paper: “They were with a group of people, but they looked very much like a couple in love. He was never more than a foot away from her and they were very flirty. They made a very good-looking couple.”

Celebzter.com also reported that the pair were supposed to have a romantic dinner date just the two of them this week but there was a fire near her hotel.

The source added: “Baptiste ordered her the biggest bouquet of flowers and they could not deliver them, the florist Lachaume is also near the fires. He’s crushed.”

Baptiste has modelled for Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, Roberto Cavalli and Giorgio Armani.

Outside the venue after the Chanel presentation, Katy had a little photo op with Baptiste and Karl Lagerfeld. Yes, Baptiste is very pretty, but I honestly don’t see anything resembling electrical sparks between the two of them. I mean, Katy seems much more interested in schmoozing with Karl than anything else in these photos.

Meanwhile, Katy’s father, Keith Hudson, would like the world to know that he doesn’t know a damn thing about Baptiste. However, he’d like to inform everyone that he’s still text-based BFFs with Russell Brand:

“There are no hard feelings towards Russell — I just received a text from him the other day in fact. He is a wonderful and smart guy,” Hudson said of British comic Brand, 36, who filed for divorce in late December after 14 months of marriage; the split will be finalized this June.

“Katy is doing well just now, ” her dad said. What went wrong with the oddball marriage? According to Keith, “Her career got really busy and she did not get to see that much of Russell — it was just one of those things.”

While in Paris, Perry was romantically linked to sexy male model Baptiste Giabiconi. So far, her dad’s in the dark about that rumor. “I don’t know anything about this male model guy,” he said. “She is healthy and happy now!”

I kind of doubt that Katy shares her father’s goodwill towards Russell in the aftermath of the divorce. In the past, she’s said that no one speaks for her, not even her family, so this is probably a case of Keith speaking out on his own again just because there’s a microphone in his face. It’s also mildly telling that Keith has never heard any mention of Baptiste. I also doubt that there’s anything going on between Katy and this dude besides the possibility of a quick fling. Baptiste just looks so vacant, but then again, maybe that’s exactly what Katy needs right now — a fling with a pretty, vacant male model.
