Hot mom Jennifer Garner looks great in a tight purple dress at the GQ Magazine Men of the Year celebration last night.

Her husband Ben Affleck recently told Ellen Degeneres that he wants more kids when she asked about it, but he didn’t set a number. Ellen tried to get him to say five or six kids, but he said “I should probably talk to my wife before I talk to you.”

Ben also spoke candidly about taking a break after his PR debacle (link lead to video) with J.Lo and Gigli, and said “I took about a couple of years off. I mean, definitely a full year where I didn’t do anything, and I did this [Hollywoodland], and then the rest of the time I spent directing a movie, but it was… I got a little bit sort of exhausted of uh - myself, and you know, and my life, and so I wanted to try to control it or manage it or look at it differently or try to figure out like what do I really want to do, and who am I really and not looking through a reflection of a magazine or being defined by someone else. So it was good for me and good things happened for me.”

Affleck certainly changed his public image during his hiatus. He seems a lot happier and down to earth now and his career is sure to take off.

Like everyone else, I kind of soured on Affleck after the whole J.Lo/Gigli affair. Now that he’s with America’s (well-deserving) sweetheart and has an eleven month-old daughter, though, I like him again. He really seems to be a family man now and he’s clearly in love with the beautiful Garner.

The British press, particularly lesser-know gossip rags, are notorious for making up quotes. There are two highly suspect recent quotes from celebrities that are being widely reported.

I don’t report stories I think are fake without some sort of disclaimer, and I haven’t covered these two because they seem completely fabricated to me.

Why are Renee Zellweger and Ben Affleck suddenly talking about their past relationship pain to a random British tabloid called Now? They’re not. These quotes are made up.

Affleck told Britain’s Now magazine: “I should never have got engaged and never gone down that route. I thought I wanted certain things, but I didn’t. I got lost and felt suffocated, miserable and gross. Being in the middle of a tabloid frenzy, it became so intense I had to stop and think, ‘What am I doing with my life?’”

The couple’s relationship was plagued by constant media attention and rumours of rows and the ‘Good Will Hunting’ star admits it was draining.
Affleck revealed: “I had to smile for the cameras, but I was really in turmoil. I was no longer in control of my life and I didn’t know which way to turn. I felt like a hamster in a cage. The faster my legs went, the less distance I seemed to travel.”

Speaking for the first time about her failed marriage, Zellweger tells the British magazine Now, “There was no alternative but to let it go.

“I made the biggest personal mistake of my life. I felt a fool.

“I was looking for something else. I just needed to put acting aside. I needed to sit still and not to worry about the dresses and the hair and the travel and the interviews.

“I was going through huge life changes at the time. I wanted to stop and be a girl for a while. My marriage came during this time and it was desperately important to me. I don’t want anyone to think I didn’t take it seriously.”

Zellweger admits Chesney did not approve when the actress invited her close friend to stay in their Hamptons, N.Y., farmhouse soon after their marriage.

She explains, “There was no acceptance of my life or my friends. My friend was pregnant, with her husband and young kid. She was doing up her house for the new baby.”

Zellweger and Affleck are notoriously tight-lipped and protective of their privacy. Affleck might have blabbed like this in the past, but he’s a family man now and has worked hard to stay out of the spotlight and rebuild his public image since the J.Lo fiasco. He wouldn’t bring it up like this, just like Zellweger wouldn’t remind the public of her failed four-month marriage.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are expected to make an appearance together this Saturday at a political event for California’s Defenders of Wildlife, which hopes to oust 13 year incumbent Republican Richard Pombo from his Congressional seat.

Affleck is an outspoken Democrat and campaigned for Gore in the 2004 election. He has most recently lent his support to Illinois Senator Barak Obama for proposition 87, a California ballot measure which places a tax on oil to fund alternative energy projects. Julia Roberts has also spoken out in support of the measure.

Affleck won Supporting Actor of the Year at the recent Hollywood Awards for his role as beleaguered Superman actor George Reeves. He quipped that he was “going home to make love to the babysitter,” his lovely wife Jennifer Garner.

Garner looks fabulous and seems to have lost her meager baby weight the healthy way through sensible exercise and diet.

Jennifer Garner was photographed on the set of her film “The Kingdom” in Phoenix, AZ with her body double. She took a break from filming the violent dirty scene to comfort ten month-old baby Violet and show her off to the crew. I’m just kidding with the image caption above, it’s obvious by the look on Violet’s face that she considers her mother’s lookalike a stranger.

x17, the photo agency who took the pictures, reports that Ben has been up to no good while his wife Jennifer is off filming. Maybe some good drunken photos of him partying in Cambridge with the coeds will come out soon.

Ben Affleck just went up ten points in my estimation. First he marries the nicest celebrity around, and now he’s dealing with security at the airport just like everyone else. TMZ says Ben charmed the TSA staff while going through security at LA’s airport:

I wonder if security would have asked Affleck to ditch his screenplay if he’d had one with him. “But I’m an Oscar-winning writer!” “Yeah, right.”

Jennifer Garner was photographed out and about the past few days. Hoards of paparrazi followed her as she went to a hotel in Santa Monica to relax with a friend on Saturday. She was also seen in a parking garage on Friday, and out visiting friends with adorable Violet on 9/14.

Garner’s husband, Ben Affleck, has revealed that he deliberately took a two year sabbatical after several of his movies flopped. He is now starring in “Hollywoodland,” in which he gives a critically acclaimed performance as doomed 40s Superman actor George Reeves. He said:

Affleck is a lucky guy, and he must be doing something right if he got Garner to marry him.

Despite recent speculation (uh, by me,) Garner does not look pregnant in these recent candids.

While promoting “Hollywoodland,” Ben Affleck said he’s not sure what his wife, Jennifer Garner, sees in him:

There’s Oscar buzz around Ben’s performance as the troubled “Superman” actor George Reeves in “Hollywoodland.” Affleck even won the best actor award at the Venice Film Festival.

Pajiba says that Affleck’s performance is excellent, and that it’s a decent film worth seeing. It’s said to flip back and forth between two plots at different times without properly connecting them, and to feel unfinished. Overall it’s said to be worthwhile, and to have a film noir vibe.

Despite strong reviews, the box office returns on “Hollywoodland” are dissapointing. It took in only $1.8 million over the weekend.

If you can sit through five nauseating minutes of Ben Affleck pawing a giddy French Canadian reporter you’ve got a stronger stomach than I do:

It was Sunday morning supposedly, so maybe he had a mimosa or two or he could be on some kind of prescription medicine. This interview is from 2004, so he wasn’t cheating on anyone yet and was probably high on life after narrowly escaping J.Lo’s clutches.

Jennifer Garner was in Arizona filming in 110 degree heat when she collapsed and fainted. Husband Ben Affleck rushed to be by her side, and flew from Boston to be with her as soon as he heard the news:

That’s terrible and I hope that Garner is ok. She’s one of my favorite actresses.

This just gets me thinking, though, that she could be pregnant again. It was rumored that she was pregnant, but people say she’s just having trouble losing that last little bit of baby weight, and Ben’s cousin told Celebrity Baby Blog that she’s definitely not pregnant. Still, Angelina fainted at the airport way back when and it turns out that she was in the early stages of her pregnancy. I’m just saying.
