I’m not a big Howard Stern fan, but I developed a new appreciation for him after reading his very thoughtful Rolling Stone interview earlier this year. I’m getting such a kick out of this story. Shock jock Howard and his wife, Beth Ostrosky, were getting their drink on for New Year’s Eve when they decided to call up a bunch of people who responded to their tweets asking for their phone numbers. The result was a huge thrill for the lucky recipients of Howard and Beth’s drunken phone calls and voicemail messages.

Howard Stern fans who follow the radio host on Twitter had a chance to get up close and personal with the King of All Media on New Year’s Eve.

Stern tweeted this message to his followers Saturday night: “Beth and I are drunk dialing. What’s your phone number?”

Stern and wife Beth apparently followed through on that promise for the next few hours, at least according to Stern’s Twitter feed, where he would tweet about who he spoke to. In numerous cases, he didn’t reach the person, but tweeted that he left them a voicemail message.

One fan tweeted that he adopted his two cats because of advice from Stern, and Stern tweeted “Just called to hear about the cats. Got voicemail.”

An equal opportunity pet lover, apparently, Stern also called two fans who mentioned their dogs, including one who said that he and his wife were staying home with a dog who’d just returned from the ICU.

To another, Stern tweeted “sorry to interrupt the video games,” and to another, he said “Drinking beer alone. What happened? You clammed up on me.”

Some of the fans then reported on their calls via Twitter. The aforementioned video gamer wrote “Howard Stern just called me! This new year rules already!”

Another lucky fan tweeted after her call: “OMG! It was like the best thing ever! I started crying after we hung up!”
When he was finished, Stern tweeted “Just made my last call. Going to bed. Wishing everyone a happy new year. If u get a call after this…it’s not me.”

That’s kind of awesome. I totally understand that guy who clammed up. I get nervous sometimes talking on the phone, and I think I would be totally speechless and wouldn’t know what to say if a celebrity called me. That’s why Kaiser spoke to the celebrity who contacted us over New Year’s weekend. I would have probably just sat there with my mouth open until I stammered out something unintelligible.

There’s some buzz over photos of Heidi Klum looking almost emaciated in a curiously cut turquoise dress, to put it nicely. In these photos, on ICYDK, you can see Heidi’s protruding rib bones and very thin arms. In other photos, the ones we have here, Heidi looks thin but normal. She seems a bit thinner than she usually looks but it’s not alarming or anything. Remember when Heidi gave advice about aging to not be “too thin, and have a little meat on your bones“? That’s obviously relative in her business. Heidi explained in Self magazine last fall that “being gaunt in the face… makes you look older by 5 or 10 years.” Heidi has been running this summer and blogging her progress on a new lifestyle website she’s launched, so that’s possibly why she’s dropped some weight.

To me the real story is this God awful draped turquoise dress she’s wearing at the amfAR Inspiration gala in New York. She was there to help honor Project Runway judge Michael Kors, and it’s safe to assume this dress is his design. I couldn’t find this exact dress in his Fall collection, but it looks like several other low-cut draped pieces he’s designed. At least she chose this dress with a skirt and not the version with harem pants. Heidi also wore a similarly questionable Kors outfit in April, a tan belted jumpsuit with a low-cut front. She was just as thin then I see.

Also at the AMFAR gala was Ke$ha looking drunk in usual and in need of a hairbrush, shampoo and some pants. I can’t hate on a girl who makes the best workout music ever though. (RPM #47 and #48 FTW!)

Jennifer Hudson wore a tight white dress and earned that Weight Watchers money. She looks amazing.

Beth Ostrosky is just too busy in that dress. That print is best for an accent piece or a small surface area, not an entire dress. What’s going on at the crotch area? It’s got a trompe l’oeil chastity belt.

Supermodel Alek Wek with Italian ballet dancer Roberto Bolle. That dress is too low on her chest, not to mention the design. It looks like it’s unraveling.

Courtney Love brought the Cray-cray in a Miss Havisham number. She performed at the show.

And Olivia Palermo takes the fug cake in this puffed polka dot mullet dress with a beige jacket. I don’t know who she is, but I guess she was in The City.

Howard Stern, 54, married his longterm girlfriend, model Beth Ostrosky, 36, last night in a ceremony officiated by none other than Kelly Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos. The wedding and reception were held at Le Cirque Restaurant in New York City, and The NY Post reports that it’s the first time the place has ever been occupied by just one party. There were 180 guests including Donald Trump, Jimmy Kimmel, Sarah Silverman, Chevy Chase, Joan Rivers, and Barbara Walters. Billy Joel and his young wife, Katie, were there, and Joel even sang two songs. Both Stern and Ostrosky wrote their own vows and they were said to be so touching that a lot of attendees were crying:

The guest list for the wedding, held at the restaurant Le Cirque, included Joan Rivers, Barbara Walters, Billy Joel and wife Katie Lee, Jimmy Kimmel, Sarah Silverman and Stern’s radio co-host, Robin Quivers.

Stern, 54, and Ostrosky, 36, were joined in a ceremony officiated by Mark Consuelos, the husband of Kelly Ripa, who also attended. Billy Joel sang two songs, and Chevy Chase delivered a raunchy roast, said one guest.

“Beth is the most beautiful bride I’ve ever seen,” said Stern pal Dominic Barbara. (Ostrosky wore Marchesa.) “The vows were from each others’ hearts. It was gentle and soft and beautiful. People were crying.”

After 11 p.m., Joan Rivers walked out holding a bouquet of cream roses. “I danced with Howard,” she said. “The wedding was fabulous, everyone had a great, great time.”

It is Stern’s second marriage and Ostrosky’s first. Stern has been divorced since 2001 and has three daughters from his first marriage, Emily, 25, Jennifer, 22, and Ashley, 15. His first marriage, to his college sweetheart, Alison Berns, lasted over 20 years.

Congratulations to Stern and Ostrosky. It sounds like they had a beautiful wedding full of friends and family.
