Bethenny Frankel hooked up with The Situation & totally regrets it

The Situation

You know, after writing up a number of posts on the “Jersey Shore” crew, I’ve built up quite a tolerance to their requisite element of tastelessness, but even I am grossed out by this particular story. Apparently, this is all based upon a relatively recent item from Blind Gossip about a bizarre, unexpected hookup between two reality stars of varying shows and statuses. Some of the guesses from the site’s commenters included Kim Kardashian and any number of “Jersey Shore” men. If given the opportunity, I probably would have guessed Kim K. and a few of the “Shore” dudes for a tag team, but that’s just me. Oddly enough, Kim has nothing to do with the reported true identity of the female subject of the blind item, who is allegedly … Bethenny Frankel. The dude? Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino. Seriously! A story in this week’s Enquirer states that Bethenny is completely mortified:

Bethenny Frankel

Skinny girl Bethenny Frankel has a serious “Situation” on her hands!

Rumors are swirling that the 41-year-old former “Real Housewives of New York City” star hooked up with “Jersey Shore” [cast member] Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino — and the fallout from the cheating scandal is threatening to destroy her already troubled marriage!

What’s more, the whispers are making waves just as she’s getting set to launch a new talk show.

The embarrassing story began to unfold in October, when a website printed a “blind item” that read: “Strangest hookup ever…This controversial female married A-list reality star spent a good five minutes making out with this second fiddle reality star who thinks he is way better than he is.”

On April 21, the site revealed that the subjects of the item were Bethenny and 29-year-old Sorrentino! “Bethenny has vehemently denied it, calling the rumor ‘a lot of B.S.,’” a source at the Bravo network said. But her husband of two years, Jason Hoppy, isn’t so sure.

“She’s been suspicious for some time because of all the problems they’ve had,” the source continued. “Bethenny’s marriage to Jason has already been hanging by a thread, and this could finally sink it.”

Bethenny is also worried how the rumor could affect her new talk show, which will begin test run on FOX stations in June.

“Getting mixed up with someone like Mike Sorrentino, who has just been through rehab, is the last thing Bethenny needs right now,” added the source. “The timing couldn’t be worse.”

[From Enquirer, print edition, May 14, 2012]

Is this story true? At the deepest pit of my soul, I hope that it’s absolutely made up, but it is entirely possible that these two famewhores swapped some reality-based spit. Regardless of the veracity of the blind item, this wouldn’t be the first time that someone worried about Sitch ruining their reputation, but as gross as this story is (on both ends), it would only (in Sorrentino’s eyes) help him out by quashing the gay rumors that so threaten his nonexistent brand. Here’s Sitch out for lunch in Beverly Hills on 4/12 with his “dudes,” who may or may not be part of his highly paid entourage that (let’s face it) won’t last forever.

Bethenny Frankel discusses her miscarriage, marriage problems with ‘Today’

I thought this was too depressing to discuss yesterday, but here I am discussing it this morning. Why? I don’t know. Bethenny Frankel’s life is an open book (sort of) and it seems like she has no issues with being upfront about everything in her life (sort of). Bethenny is currently promoting the third season of her Real Housewife spinoff, Bethenny Ever After, and she made an appearance on the Today show yesterday morning. She ended up discussing a recent health scare in which she accidentally burned a hole in her esophagus (seriously!) and she also discussed having a miscarriage when she was eight weeks pregnant.

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Regarding the miscarriage, Bethenny said, “Until you become a woman, you don’t know the things that come with it. The window is closing, and it’s something I’m dealing with.” When asked if she was trying for another baby, she said “I’m not really thinking about it. I have thought about other women more than myself… I can’t believe what people go through if they can’t even have the one. … You go through a roller coaster of emotions about it.” Bethenny also seems to be pretty open in discussing her sometimes-difficult marriage to Jason Hoppy – there have been continuous reports that they are on the verge of divorce, but it seems like they’re still sticking with it. My mother will be happy – she loves Bethenny. I don’t really get it, but I ended up watching a few episodes and I came away thinking that Jason seems like a nice guy. And is it rude to say that Jason seems like he puts up with a lot of crap from his drama-queen wife?

Kris Jenner taught her daughters to “develop this amazing work ethic”

Here are some more photos from yesterday’s Hollywood Reporter “Women In Hollywood” luncheon – I talked about some of the fashion girls here already. This post is just for the dumb famewhores Kris Jenner and Bethenny Frankel, who posed together on the carpet like they’re trying to pool their lying-famewhore resources. Kris was the one who gave an interview on the red carpet, though. And Kris is the one who will make you roll your eyes until you convulse:

Many believe she is the puppet master behind the Kardashian family’s business success. And Kris Jenner revealed the secret to her success as she attended the prestigious Hollywood Reporter Power 100 Women in Entertainment breakfast in Beverly Hills today – hard work. The glamorous family matriarch said it was values instilled in her by her parents and grandparents that have allowed them to flourish.

She said: ‘I spent a lot of time very young paying attention to what was going on around me and I think that somehow seeped in. And then my mom and my grandmother ran businesses and stores from the time that they were really young. So I think you watch, you do and you learn from your parents. I also wanted to teach that to my girls and I love that they have developed this amazing work ethic, and that’s how they live their lives. It feels good to work hard and do something that your proud of and that you’ve accomplished.’

Kris, 56, managed to shine in a daring tight leather jacket, black knee high skirt and stiletto boots. And she revealed she even gets up at 4.30am so she can have a productive day.

The early bird said: ‘There’s a lot of stuff going on at my house. We’re usually filming a show on some level, and I gotta get that workout in, and get breakfast and kind of get my head together so that I feel calm.’

And Kris said she is particularly excited. as her son Rob said he wants to follow in his fathers footsteps and become an attorney.

She said: ‘He might want to go to law school. Nancy Grace really encouraged him to follow that dream of his. He wants to be an attorney like his dad.’

But she was more defensive when the subject of her daughter Kim being hit by a public backlash following her shock divorce from husband Kris Humphries after just 72 days.

She said: ‘Kim’s great she’s good. I just say, you know what, you can’t judge anybody else, you gotta look at your own life. Everything happens for a reason.’

[From The Mail]

Ugh, where to start? Rob Kardashian wants to become a lawyer? Rob is 24 years old already – the typical age of a second or even third-year law student. I didn’t even think that Rob had graduated from college, but his Wikipedia says that he graduated from USC’s School of Business… which means, what? He’s got a Bachelor’s or maybe an MBA. So maybe he will end up going to law school – although I seriously doubt it. More likely he’ll just stay on the famewhore path.

Oh, and “I also wanted to teach that to my girls and I love that they have developed this amazing work ethic, and that’s how they live their lives…” Bitch, getting paid to show up at clubs is NOT WORK.

Here are some more photos of Kris and Bethenny. How rough does Bethenny look?

Bethenny Frankel on if she made $120 mill: ‘The number is irrelevant’

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Last Thursday, Rob Shuter at the Huffington Post called out Bethenny Frankel for maybe-lying to Fobes about the amount of money she made from selling her SkinnyGirl beverage business. Forbes declared in a June cover story that Frankel had made over $100 million from the sale. Shuter went through the quarterly financial statement from the company that purchased SkinnyGirl, and misread the amount of “good will” afforded the company, $8.1 million, as the total sales price. A later segment of the report suggested that Skinny Girl was purchased for around $32 million. Accountants and financial lawyers among you commented that the financial details were being misread, that it was impossible to tell from the report what the purchasing price was, and that celebrities and millionaires regularly misrepresent their wealth in order to sound richer. Shuter and Huffpo later issued a correction stating that the numbers had been misread. In response, Frankel tweeted that Shuter was a “freelance writer with false info to get attention” and claimed she paid more than $8 million in taxes. She never gave a precise number as to what she sold SkinnyGirl for, and the company that bought it, Beam Global, said that we should “not expect that a black and white lump sum ‘purchase price’ figure will be made available. Suffice to say, this was not an $8.1 million acquisition.” No exact numbers, then, but I suspect it wasn’t quite as high as Bethenny would have us believe and that she knows it.

In an appearance on the Today Show this morning, Bethenny never gave a direct answer when Matt Lauer asked her if she made $100 million or not. She just hedged, called the publications that reported the $100 plus million figure “credible,” (as opposed to anyone who called her out on it) and said an exact number was “irrelevant.” She also defended her supposedly harrowing lost at sea experience that just happened to be captured on cameras for her reality show, but she talked around the accusations of the towboat operator who said it was a stunt.

On TODAY Monday, reality TV star and Skinnygirl entrepreneur Bethenny Frankel blamed jealousy and irresponsible journalism for recent reports about the sale of Skinnygirl cocktails.

“I think my recent success has polarized people,” she told Matt Lauer. “All I ever wanted to do was be able to pay my rent. They say mo’ money, mo’ problems; I never had problems like this.”

Forbes magazine and others estimated the price of acquisition of Skinnygirl cocktails by Bean Global at upwards of $100 million, but a Huffington Post blogger said that number was inflated – the deal was only worth $8.1 million. After a follow-up article in Forbes pointing out errors in the HuffPo story, the site ran a correction admitting that its number was wrong.

Though given a chance to set the record straight, Frankel stayed mum on the exact figure. She was, however, emphatic about the success of her brand.

“The number is irrelevant to me … when fans are wondering whether I said it was 10 times more than it was, I’m left to defend myself,” she said. “The bottom line is the public believes irresponsible bloggers who write anything they want … Skinnygirl Cocktails is about to sell a million cases in nine months. It’s remarkable. The money is irrelevant, but it’s a success.”

The star also discussed the controversy around her claims that she was lost at sea.

[From Bites.TodayShow.com]

Either she made over $100 million or she didn’t. Don’t go claiming one thing all over the press for months and then act like it doesn’t matter and that people are stupid for calling you out on it. She concluded by referencing Giuliana Rancic’s breast cancer and saying that “this is garbage. You worry about your health, your family and this is garbage.” Again, she’s fine with putting out numbers about her supposed wealth when it’s to her liking, but when people ask her a direct question about it none of it matters and it’s all “garbage.”

Did Bethenny Frankel lie to Forbes about making $120 mill from SkinnyGirl? (Update)

bethenny-frankel
In June, reality star Bethenny Frankel earned the cover of Forbes Magazine with the title “The New Celebrity Money Makers.” Having sold her SkinnyGirl cocktail business for a reported $120 million, she was ranked higher in earnings than Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Sandra Bullock. Only that number was grossly inflated and financials for the company show that it was purchased for $8.1 million, which Frankel had to split with her partner. That’s still a great deal of money but it doesn’t quite make her outpace the A-listers and Frankel knows it. Forbes is said to be understandably upset that Frankel posed for their cover and allowed herself to be ranked along with celebrities in that issue. She never once bothered to tell them that she made $4 million, and that she didn’t rake in over ten times that amount. What’s more is that Frankel had this whole story about how she was lost at sea a while ago, while conveniently filming her reality show. The guy that she called to “save” her gave an interview that made it clear that at no point was Bethenny or anyone on her boat in trouble or even lost. Here’s the story, from Huffpo’s Rob Schuter. There’s more on the specific financials in this story.

Bethenny Frankel has been caught distorting the truth for a second time in one week. After she told Ellen DeGeneres that she had been “lost at sea” for 21 hours, it was discovered that she’d failed to mention she had her reality TV camera crews with her, and the captain who “rescued” them has admitted the group was in no danger. Now, it turns out that Bethenny’s “all natural” Skinnygirl cocktail mix, reportedly sold for $120 million, was actually sold for $8.1 million.

When news of the former “Real Housewives of New York” star’s Skinnygirl sale broke, Forbes magazine reported that she was one of the highest-earning women in entertainment, topping Beyonce, Taylor Swift and Angelina Jolie. But now the magazine has issued a tough statement about the lady who graced its cover.

“We’re taking this very seriously. We based our numbers at the time of reporting on solid sources. We’re aware of the new information [uncovered by HuffPost Celebrity] and we’re looking into it right now,” Dan Bigman, Forbes executive editor, tells me. “We’re going to review all the information thoroughly and talk to Ms. Frankel before taking any steps. If there are any inaccuracies, we’ll correct them. If clarification is required, we’ll do so.”

Bethenny has removed from her website the Forbes cover that declared her “the it girl of reality TV [who] sold her line of Skinnygirl drinks for $100 million.” And even though the tricky star never confirmed the amount, you would think that during her interview or three-hour photo shoot, she might have whispered, “Hey, guys, you didn’t hear this from me, but I only got $8.1 mil, which I split with my partner.” Wishful thinking.

[From Huffington Post]

Oops, just an innocent mistake, right? Is Frankel about to get her ass handed to her? I bet she’s going to blame everyone else for this, claiming she never put out the $120 million number, even though her camp is surely to blame for leaking it. The article in Forbes about her wealth was published on their website in May, so she’s had plenty of time to correct those wildly inaccurate numbers about the value of her business. Frankel has denied that she lied about being lost at sea. She also sort-of refuted this report about her inflated earnings. She retweeted another person’s tweet that “The reporter @HuffingtonPost doesn’t get accounting or know how to read financials,” adding “Precisely. Irresponsible journalism.” Then she later tweeted “The price of success. The serious issue is supposedly credible outlets hiring freelance writers with false info to get attention.” Later she bragged that “Yay! @skinnygirlcktls is #1 fastest growing spirits brand in the country bc of YOU! On track to do over 1 million cases this year! Thank you.

If she made 1/2 of $120 million, why doesn’t she just say so outright? Instead she’s going after Shuter for pointing it out. According to Schuter, the quarterly report the purchasing company filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission states that SkinnyGirl was purchased for $8.1 million and that “In future periods, the Company may be required to record contingent consideration in an amount not in excess of approximately $25 million.” So that’s $4 million for Frankel and potentially 1/2 of $25 million? That’s awesome, but it’s not $120 million and she knows it.

Update: Thanks to all the accountants and lawyers who commented and said that you cannot tell the quarterly report how much the company was purchased for. Many of you agree that it’s hard to tell and that a figure of around $30 million seems to be more accurate. Still, that’s not $120 million is it? The Huffington Post has issued a correction and E! Online has a more thorough explanation of the numbers here.

Bethenny Frankel’s mom talks smack: ‘she’s narcissistic,’ ‘husband is weak’

wenn5676463
I don’t really follow Bethenny Frankel’s career and I didn’t watch “The Real Housewives of NY” when she was on. I’ve caught some of her solo reality show and found it mildly interesting. It struck me that she doesn’t have the best relationship with her new husband, but I really didn’t care too much about it either way. The thing that made me want to repeat this story is how incredibly bitchy and mean Bethenny’s mom Bernadette is being. This isn’t new, Bettheny has spoken out in the past about her terrible relationship with her mom, and her mom has denied Bettheny’s claims. As background I’ll include some of these priceless quotes from Bethenny’s mom in a July 2010 interview with The Enquirer. She’s such a bitch, but she amps it up in this more recent interview as I’ll cover in a moment:

Speaking about her mother in a recent interview, Bethenny, 39, stated: “I don’t want her to contact us and make it toxic. I’m never going to want her in my daughter’s life.”

A devastated Bernadette, 59, told The Enquirer: “I have kept my silence for many years. I didn’t want to say anything about the lies Bethenny has spread about me because she is my flesh and blood…”

Bettheny has claimed that her mom was a severe bulimic and “was always drinking.” Bernadette denies both allegations.

“I never got a DUI, and I couldn’t have held down the jobs I did if I had an alcohol problem,” she said. “They would have fired me…”

“I did everything I could to bond with her…

“All through her childhood, John [Bernadette's husband] was funding her. But after that, he hit a bad patch and could no longer pay her credit card bills.

“So she went to live with Bobby. She changed her name from Bethenny Parisella to Bethenny Frankel and cut John and I off.”

Bethenny has spoken to Bernadette only twice in the past 10 years.

[From The National Enquirer, print edition, July 26, 2010]

Listen to this lady. She wasn’t an alcoholic because she didn’t get a DUI and kept some jobs. That’s how alcoholics justify their addiction. She was living high on the hog with her husband, and then kicked her daughter out because they couldn’t afford her. It gets worse though. She’s moved from defending herself to trashing Bethenny and hoping that her life goes horribly wrong.

Describing her daughter as narcissistic, Bernadette says the highly strung and driven Bethenny will get what she needs from the relationship – children – before casing Jason aside.

“Right now, he is a good father, but soon she won’t need him and she will dump him,” Bernadette tells Star exclusively. “Her husband seems like a really nice guy, but it won’t last. He is really too weak for her”

Even worse, says Bernadette, Bethenny will always put money and power before everything else – including her own family.

“She sells everything because money and power is No. 1 for her, and there is never enough,” says Bernadette. “I find it amazing that she discusses having another child with her husband, but she barely has time for the first one…

“She only puts herself around people who can do something for her,” Bernadette says. “It is amazing how she turned out just like her father…”

Claims the Skinny Girl margarita was her idea
“When she was young, her godmother, Eleanor Mogavero, would come and visit, and her drink of choice was a margarita. She was overweight, so I’d make her really low-fat ones… But Bethenny would never give anyone credit – it goes against her narcissistic point of view.”

[From Star Magazine, print edition, October 17, 2011]

Holy crap! What do you do when your mom treats you like that – in public no less?! I guess you do what Bethenny does, you basically ignore the nasty wench. It’s awful that there are people like this in the world, whose hatred of everything, even their own family, just eats them up inside. I’ve had some issues with my mom, but they seem absolutely insignificant compared to this. My mom sometimes tells me what to do with my kid and I find it annoying, but she doesn’t put me down at all. This is incredible to me that there are people who talk like this about their own kids.

Bethenny Frankel’s personality is too harsh & grating for America

wenn5676467

Some people really like Bethenny Frankel. They think she’s funny and “real” and she seems to have a decent-sized fan-base, enough that she got her own Bravo spin-off show. Plus, she’s a businesswoman who runs her own multi-million dollar company (that Skinny Girl crap). So it’s no surprise that someone powerful out there decided that Bethenny needed her own day-time platform, her own talk/advice show. That powerful person is Ellen DeGeneres, who wants to develop and produce a day-time show with Bethenny at the helm. So, what’s the problem? It’s one thing for Bethenny to have fame on a cable show on Bravo. It’s quite another to try to get her a syndicated show on network television, and there are some personality problems that have come up:

Pushy former “Real Housewives of New York” star Bethenny Frankel has had to hire a coach to help her drop her Big Apple attitude and “be nice” for all-American audiences in order to sell her syndicated talk show.

Frankel shot a pilot for an “advice-based” program produced by Telepictures, the company behind “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” Anderson Cooper’s new yakker and “Dr. Drew’s Life Changers.”

But sales were slow, sources say, so Frankel was taken to meet with station managers to personally pump the project. But her aggressive Manhattan mien grated like manicured nails scraping down a chalkboard.

“She came off as too aggressive,” a source close to the margarita-mix mogul said. As a result, producers brought in a Henry Higgins-style mentor to turn the housewife into a lady.

“They’d been shopping the syndicated show and going to meet with station owners,” said a source. “They got a coach” who would teach Frankel things like “speaking more slowly” and “being nicer,” the insider said.

DeGeneres has been boosting Frankel by booking her as a regular guest since a year ago when Ellen signed a deal with Warner Bros. to create reality, scripted and cable programming.

On Friday, Frankel counseled “Ellen” viewers on bargain shopping in a segment called “Looks for Less.” In the past, she’s also talked on the show about healthy snack recipes.

A Telepictures rep said, “We don’t comment on any development activity.” Frankel’s rep also declined to comment.

Meantime, Frankel’s been busy pushing an endless tide of Skinny Girl products, even while the company’s the target of a $10 million class-action suit alleging the drinks were incorrectly marketed by not listing ingredients.

Her response to stories about the drink being pulled from Whole Foods shelves was, “We were bound to p–s someone off and everyone loves to try to tear down a success.”

[From Page Six]

I have to be careful about this, because I know Bethenny has fans and when someone likes her, they REALLY like her. I don’t hate the woman, but I’ve seen enough of her spinoff show, and I remember her on RHONY enough that I already have an impression of her. Yes, she’s the most “sane” of all of the RHONYs. But that’s not an accomplishment – she IS rude, she IS self-obsessed, she is grating and she is a massive pill. I tend to think this attempt to make Bethany “happen” on a larger scale will end up blowing up in Ellen’s face.

Oh, and I was looking for other Bethenny news, I found this interesting opinion piece on how Bethenny is a terrible person. It’s pretty great.

Bethenny Frankel: “I’m too thin. Because I’m so busy, I’m not always hungry”

wenn3459045

I go back and forth on Bethenny Frankel. I used to find her extremely annoying, but my mom is a fan, and she convinced me to give Bethenny another chance. BF still kind of plucks my last nerve, but I can watch her show for ten minutes and enjoy it sometimes. I barely follow all of Bethenny’s food and diet advice, but doesn’t she have a history with recommending somewhat unhealthy diet options? CB covered some of that in the past, but I feel like Bethenny has gotten more criticism than we’ve covered. Anyway, much like Jennifer Hudson, I think you can tell from Bethenny’s face and build that naturally, she’s supposed to be heavier. Once again, NOT FAT. I just think BF (and J-Hud) would both look a bit better with some more weight than they are actually carrying. Bethenny gave an interview to this week’s Life & Style where she discusses how difficult it is for her to eat solids:

In the new issue of Life & Style, on newsstands now, Bethenny Frankel talks candidly about how she’s overcome her struggles with body image and is now working hard to keep her weight on track.

While the 40-year-old reality star turned mom has been showing off a healthier figure as of late, Bethenny still admits, “I’m too thin. Because I’m so busy, I’m not always hungry. I have to make myself eat more because of my busy schedule.”

On top of the many hours she puts in on her show, Bethenny Ever After, she is constantly on the go promoting her ever expanding Skinnygirl franchise and caring for her 15-monthold daughter, Bryn. But while Bethenny exercises regularly she tries not to go overboard.

“Girls put a lot of pressure on themselves to be skinny,” she acknowledges. “They don’t understand that it’s not about a quick fix — but a healthy lifestyle.”

Bethenny confessed that in the past she would starve herself, binge on laxatives and try fad diets until just a few years ago.

“I was completely obsessed my entire life, until my 30s.” These days she makes sure to eat sensible meals, whereas in the past she would drink alcohol and not eat, only to binge later in the evening. But those days of abusing her body and depriving herself are over, “Everything I do [now] is about being healthier,” she shares.

[From Life & Style]

So she claims that she knows she’s “too thin,” she has a history of eating disorders, she named her franchise “Skinnygirl” and all she can really talk about is food and weight. Sounds to me like someone still has issues, but this is quote that struck me: “Girls put a lot of pressure on themselves to be skinny. They don’t understand that it’s not about a quick fix — but a healthy lifestyle.” Do you see the problem there? Bethenny doesn’t bother negating the premise that girls SHOULD pressure themselves to be “skinny”. Her default setting is still on “Skinny = good” rather than a healthy lifestyle, not just with diet, but with mindset. If your goal is merely “skinny” than there are always going to be problems.

Real Housewives Michaele Salahi & Bettheny Frankel pose in bikinis, tout diets

salahi1
White House party crasher, scam artist and all-around trouble maker, Michaele Salahi, may not have a hell of lot going for her character or personality-wise, but she’s thin. Salahi is starring in the upcoming Real Housewives of Washington, DC, much to the chagrin of the other “real housewives” who have found themselves overshadowed in the media by the multiple scandals Salahi and her grifter husband are involved in. Instead of bothering with any of that, she’s showing us how cute she is at 44 in a bikini. Like many other reality stars and Real Housewives in particular, she doesn’t seem to have much more to offer.

Salahi denied that she’s anorexic, as she claimed another housewife, Lynda Erkiletian, taunted her with at a cast party. (Which lead her husband, Tareq, to throw a glass of wine in Lynda’s face, which Linda countered with some Scotch.) Salahi claims she eats, but the daily diet she details wouldn’t get a lot of people through the afternoon, not to mention the entire day. She has a bowl of sugar cereal for breakfast, nothing for lunch, then a salad with chicken for dinner. That probably doesn’t exceed 850 calories even if she adds dressing. Michaele also says she’s pro-plastic surgery and injectables and wants to get her boobs done.

Other women on the show have scrutinized your weight.
I’m a skinny girl. I always was. I’ve never had an eating disorder in my life. And it hurts to be called anorexic.

How do you defend yourself?
Honestly, I can’t believe those women have so much time to devote to my weight. If they get out there and move, they will look like me and be thin, and it’ll all be good.

What’s your diet like?
I start the day with a hot chocolate and cereal — I love Lucky Charms or Kashi GoLean — then some fruit. I don’t really eat a lot in the middle of the day. I have an early dinner, which is always a salad, with plain chicken, grilled or broiled.

What about plastic surgery — would you ever do it?
Definitely. I would love to do a whole lot of Botox and maybe get collagen, too. I also think it would be great to have boobs. I’m a B [cup], so I’d get a C. I’m all for anything you can do to make yourself look and feel better.

When would you do it?
Hopefully, within the next six months. But my husband doesn’t want me to do my boobs!

[From In Touch via Huffington Post]

Salahi sounds like a real bitch, but it’s nothing new from her. She said “If [women criticizing me] get out there and move, they will look like me and be thin,” but it’s clear from her diet that she’s losing weight by not eating, not by exercising, which she probably does too. Dieticians recommend 1200 calories a day minimum for most people. I’m not going to get into all that, but it’s worth noting that Salahi is thin but not emaciated looking and she probably eats more than she admits. (I hope, but it’s not like I care. I just hate to see celebrities or anyone quoted in the press touting extremely low calorie diets.)

In related “Real Housewives in bikinis spouting diet advice” news, new mom Bettheny Frankel has some advice for those of us wanting to lose weight, “taste everything, eat nothing.” I’m sure outlets will take out that first part of her quote and make it sound like she’s advocating anorexia.

Life & Style has exclusively obtained the first photos of Bethenny Frankel in a teeny turquoise two-piece– the newlywed’s first time in a bikini since giving birth to daughter Bryn on May 8th! Bethenny looked amazing,” an onlooker, who spotted Bethenny (pictured above) on August 11th in Montauk, N.Y., tells Life & Style. “She looked like she’d lost all the baby weight, and she was toned too. Even her tush was remarkable.”
How has the best-selling author of Naturally Thin and Skinnygirl Dish bounced back so soon? “There’s been no real drastic any thing,” Bethenny, who weighs a healthy 118 lbs, tells Life & Style. “I’ve really been eating, just not like a crazy person.” The 5-foot-6 natural-food chef has a new mantra, “Taste everything, eat nothing.”

Lately, she’s been combining out door activities with routines from her yoga DVD, Body by Bethenny. “Some times it’ll take me the whole day to get through it,” the busy mom tells Life & Style. “I do what I can when I can a cou ple of times a week.”

These ladies are thin with Photoshopping that isn’t that obvious. You can only see some minor errors to the left of Frankel’s torso where they cut some flesh out and didn’t smooth her out properly. Life & Style claims this photo of Bethenny is “unretouched” though, which probably means “not rendered unrecognizable and alien-like.”

Bethenny’s advice is somewhat better than Michaele’s when taken as a whole, but the “eat nothing” part sticks out. It’s not consistent with the rest of her statement, which kind of balances it out with the claim that she does eat. Of course you have to diet to lose weight, but it doesn’t have to be extreme and you can actually eat stuff. It’s too bad that we’re bombarded with such bad advice from whichever minor celebrity wants to promote herself by starving and stripping down to a bikini.

Bethenny Frankel says her baby saved her from a volatile past

people

When I look at “Real Housewives of NY” reality star Bethenny Frankel, the words “maternal instinct” don’t necessarily come to mind. But Frankel gave an interview to People magazine saying that she is all about her new baby girl. She also revealed that her own childhood wasn’t so great, and her mom wasn’t much of a role model – which kind of explains a lot.

As a first-time mom, Bethenny Frankel is happily focused on pampering her new baby, 8-week-old Bryn. But the reality TV star says her own childhood was far less loving.

“I never had a true childhood,” Frankel, 39 – the only child of legendary horse trainer Bobby Frankel and his first wife, Bernadette – tells PEOPLE in this week’s cover story. “There was a lot of destruction: alcohol abuse, eating disorders and violent fights.”

The Real Housewives star – whose new Bravo reality series, Bethenny Getting Married? chronicles her whirlwind romance with businessman Jason Hoppy and the birth of Bryn – says she has long been estranged from her mom, whom she describes as “extremely volatile. She was never a mother to me.”

Now, Frankel says she is grateful for the chance to create a stable home with Hoppy and their daughter: “I live for this baby.”

Here’s hoping that Bethenny stays focused on her daughter even after the newness wears off. When someone is as self-absorbed as she appears to be, putting an infant’s needs first can get old pretty quickly. But it sounds like she is determined to give little Bryn a better life than she had, and that’s always a good start.
