Grammys Open Post: Hosted by Queen Beyonce’s world domination

Ah, Beyonce. I’m disappointed! But I’m disappointed because the rumor mill was working overtime last week, with multiple sources claiming that FLOTUS Michelle Obama had scored her second Vogue cover, the March “Power Issue”. Considering Anna Wintour is so tight with the Obamas (Wintour was one of Obama’s top bundlers/fundraisers), I really was expecting to see a cover full of first lady bangs. But instead I get Beyonce! Just as well. If I had a Vogue cover full of bangs, I wouldn’t know what to say about it.

So Beyonce covers the March “Power Issue” it seems. I guess it’s not completely 100% – this wasn’t leaked by Vogue or anything, and God knows, it could be Photoshopped, although I don’t think it is. I think Bey is just continuing on her path of total world and media domination. Allegedly, Beyonce will be at tonight’s Grammys. Remember when everybody thought she would be at last year’s Grammys too? She and Jay-Z released Blue Ivy’s first photos and everybody was expecting them to show up but they never came. Probably because Bey knew she’d be losing big-time to Adele. Speaking of, Adele is going to be there too, allegedly. You know Beyonce and Adele are sort of close, right? Adele has said that they’ve met several times and she (Adele) loves Bey.

So, will Beyonce be able to achieve complete Grammy domination if people like Rihanna, Adele, Taylor Swift and The Black Keys are around? Oooh, I had forgotten about The Black Keys. They’re my favorite!!! Anyway, this is your Open Post to discuss all things Grammys. We’ll have lots of coverage tomorrow, in addition to lots of BAFTA coverage too.

Beyonce in trouble with PETA for wearing iguana & python skins, plus a mink coat

By now I’m sure you’ve heard about Beyonce’s latest gift to her public – her publicist sent an email to Buzzfeed demanding/requesting that they take down several unflattering photos of Beyonce as she performed at the Half-time show. It wasn’t a standard “take-down notice” which every blog gets at some point when the origin of a photo is up for grabs – this was just an attempt from Team Beyonce to control what copyrighted Getty images were used in stories about Beyonce, and she had no rights over the images. All of the photos Beyonce wanted pulled are ones where she’s making “RAWR! COME AT ME!!” faces. You can see the pics here.

But that’s not the only controversy about Beyonce these days. Apparently, PETA is all up on Bey because for Bey’s two major public appearances in 2013, she’s worn animal skins.

Beyoncé is in trouble with PETA. Again. The animal rights group is angry at Bey for shaking and shimmying in a Rubin Singer leather bodysuit, made of python, paneled iguana and leather.

“We would take a bet that if Beyoncé watched our video exposés, she’d probably not want to be seen again in anything made of snakes, lizards, rabbits or other animals who died painfully. Today’s fashions are trending toward humane vegan options, and Beyoncé’s Super Bowl outfit missed the mark on that score.”

PETA was also furious with the singer after she wore a three-quarter-length Christian Dior mink coat to sing at the inauguration.

The group adds that the “game was great” however, and expressed love for Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs, who just joined PETA in protesting the fur industry by starring in their new “Ink, Not Mink” campaign.

[From the NYDN]

Did you know her Half-time bodysuit was made out of python and iguana? That just seems completely random, especially since it just reads on camera like plain old leather. Why go so fancy (iguana?!) when it just looks like regular leather? As for Beyonce wearing mink at the Inauguration – yeah. She did that. Most people didn’t notice because she took off her mink coat for photos and she “performed” (lip synced) without the coat, in just the Pucci gown.

Beyonce worked so hard, she ‘was losing weight every day’ before the Super Bowl

Shhh… are the Bey-stans gone? I hope so. They went a little bit crazy defending their girl’s Halftime performance on Sunday night. While I didn’t think Beyonce embarrassed herself or anything (far from it), I also thought there were some hilarious elements, like Beyonce practically shoving Michelle and Kelly off the stage and how Bey made sure their mics were turned down. It was Classic Beyonce in every sense – she didn’t bring anything new or groundbreaking to the show, but I do appreciate that she put in a lot of work for it.

One of the most startling things that I noticed as I first watched the show was that Beyonce’s bootiliciousness seemed… subdued. Sure, Beyonce still has curves and she’s always had a really great athletic-strong-fit-curvy figure, but at the Half-time show she seemed particularly slender for her. Well, Bey’s stylist told Entertainment Tonight that Bey was working so hard, she kept losing weight:

One of the most anticipated events at yesterday’s Super Bowl was Beyonce’s performance during the halftime show and ET spoke exclusively to the superstar’s costume designer about her her rigorous rehearsals and how much work went into her outfits.

“When a performer is working so vigorously, they’re shrinking constantly, and so she was losing weight every day,” fashion designer Rubin Singer told ET. “So we had to keep taking it in and taking it in and taking it in and doing tweaks and changes.”

Singer said he was based in New Orleans all last week preparing for Beyonce’s Super Bowl performance and that a team of 14 people put about 200 man hours into producing and tweaking the costumes.

“When you have the dress rehearsals and you actually get to see the footage the next day, or that night, and you see all the little nuances that you need to change,” he said.

In addition to Beyonce’s costumes, Singer also created the outfits for former Destiny’s Child band member Michelle Williams as well as the jackets for the show’s 120 backup dancers.

[From Entertainment Tonight]

LOL, “tweaking”. I understand about how hard she was working and how that contributed to her weight loss – and quite honestly, her body looked amazing during the show! I’m not a Bey-stan or anything, but I would love to have her figure. She looked strong and fit. But I did laugh at the whole “a team of 14 people put about 200 man hours into producing and tweaking the costumes… for the show’s 120 backup dancers.” There were 120 backup dancers? LOL. Why does Beyonce need that many dancers when it’s going to be ALL ABOUT BEYONCE all the time, forever? I seriously didn’t pay any attention to the “backup dancers” at all – I was too busy paying attention to Bey whipping her weave around in the wind machine.

Beyonce reunites with Destiny’s Child during Half-time show: awesome?

So we finally got to see the much-hyped and much-analyzed Half-time show where, YES, Destiny’s Child reunited. For about two minutes before Beyonce and her wind machine kicked Michelle and Kelly off the stage. It was ridiculous! I mean, it was enjoyable because Beyonce and DC have had a lot of hits and it was fun to see which songs got picked, etc. It was also interesting because I’m pretty sure Beyonce’s booty caused a 34-minute black-out in the Superdome, right? Just after the Half-time show and just as the second half was about to begin, the lights went out. Maybe because of Beyonce’s show? Maybe because of The Booty? Anyway, here’s the video (I’m including two videos, just in case) – we’ll discuss it below.

Just a few things:

*I actually liked Beyonce’s costume, and Michelle and Kelly’s complimentary costumes. Yes, they were a little bit “dominatrix lite” but I didn’t feel like lady bits were assaulting me, you know? The costumes were sexy without anything hanging out.

*Beyonce sang live! And we know this because the vocals weren’t perfect. But how in the world is her voice totally okay to sing live with a smoke machine and a wind machine but it’s not okay at the inauguration?

*I guess we also know that there wasn’t a pre-record because Michelle and Kelly’s microphones weren’t as loud as QUEEN BEYONCE’S.

*I can’t wait to see how Beyonce “homage’d” with this performance. You know it’s coming! She can’t give a major performance without “copying” (“homage-ing”) some lesser-known mortal.

*Last thing – Beyonce had to make it all about Beyonce (!!) by announcing her new tour – the Mrs. Carter Show. This commercial was so… ridiculous.

Beyonce admits she partially lip-synced: ‘I love haters. No shame. No hate.’

For the first time since way before the inauguration, Beyonce took questions from members of the press yesterday – it was a press conference in NOLA for her Halftime performance. I don’t know if Beyonce was forced to do the press conference by the NFL, or if it was her idea to do a big media event or whatever. I guess… props to her for doing it, and props to her for having the balls to not put any limits on what people asked. Of course, this is how she began her press conference:

I want to see the RECEIPTS!! No, she was singing live. Right?!? But seriously, she just did that to distract us from her admission that she did in fact lip sync the National Anthem at the inauguration.

Beyonce proved the critics wrong at a press conference for the Super Bowl. As the singer walked on stage, she asked the audience to please stand. She then kicked off the press conference with a show-stopping, live performance of the national anthem.

“I am a perfectionist and one thing about me, I practice until my feet bleed, and I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra. It was a live television show and a very, very important emotional show for me. One of my proudest moments,” Beyonce said when asked what happened at the inauguration.

“Due to the weather, due to the delay, due to no proper sound check, I did not feel comfortable taking a risk. It was about the president and the inauguration and I wanted to make him and my country proud. So I decided to sing along with my pre-recorded track, which is very common in the music industry, and I’m very proud of my performance,” she said.

The 31-year-old singer also guaranteed that she will be singing live during Sunday’s Super Bowl halftime show.

“I will absolutely be singing live. I am well rehearsed and I will absolutely be singing live,” Beyonce said. “This is what I was born to do. What I’m born for. I love haters. No shame. No hate.”

After reporters were told to move onto another topic, Beyonce said she was honored and humbled to have the opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl, especially in New Orleans, since her family is from Louisiana. As for her setlist, she said it was difficult to choose which songs to perform, adding, “trying to condense a career into 12 minutes is not easy.”

Her plans after the Super Bowl? “I’m going to enjoy my daughter,” Beyonce laughed. “I’ve missed her, I’m working so hard and I keep saying, ‘Mommy will be done Sunday at nine o’clock!’”

Beyonce also said that she “might” have an announcement at the end of her performance — she hinted that it would have to do with a tour. In addition, she refused to confirm a Destiny’s Child reunion onstage.

[From ABC News]

So, her story is that she managed to prerecord the track AND that she didn’t have time to rehearse or have a sound check? Tell me, professional musicians, is that really how it works? And how is it that Kelly Clarkson managed to kill her song live while Beyonce had to rely on her pre-record? As for the “surprise” – SURPRISE, she’s seven months pregnant RIGHT NOW.

As for “This is what I was born to do. What I’m born for. I love haters. No shame. No hate.” That sounds like a tattoo. I’m surprised she didn’t whip out a shank and cut her eyes at the crowd, saying, “I LIVE for some motherf—ing haters getting all up in my bidness. Pre-record that, bitches.”

Beyonce opens up about her miscarriage a few years ago: ‘I picked out names’

Beyonce keeps posting photos and videos to her Tumblr, in case you care. She’s also revamped the photo array so now the photos are divided up by “My Work” and “My Life”. All of the new Super Bowl preview pics are in “My Work”, and I’m including some of the new pics here. Today Beyonce is also doing a press conference in support of her Halftime gig, in which she will have to answer questions from what I suspect will be a mix of sports, entertainment and hard-news journalists. She might even have to answer questions about lip syncing the National Anthem! Anyway, Us Weekly has another preview from Beyonce’s HBO documentary – Beyonce opening up about her miscarriage two years ago.

She’s now the ecstatic mother to daughter Blue Ivy Carter, nearly 13 months, but Beyonce dealt with the ultimate maternal anguish before that famous pregnancy: A miscarriage. Last year, the 31-year-old singer’s husband Jay-Z briefly referenced the tragedy in “Glory,” the rap track recorded within days of Blue’s Jan. 7 birth, but Beyonce hasn’t ever discussed the loss.

In a surprising moment of candor, she opens up for the first time about the incident and its aftermath in Life Is But a Dream, her new documentary debuting on HBO in February. “About two years ago, I was pregnant for the first time,” the Grammy winner says in one scene. “And I heard the heartbeat, which was the most beautiful music I ever heard in my life.”

She and Jay-Z (they wed in April 2008) were naturally overjoyed about their baby-to-be. “I picked out names,” Beyonce recalls. “I envisioned what my child would look like . . . I was feeling very maternal.”

But something went wrong in the early stages, the “Love on Top” singer reveals. “I flew back to New York to get my check up — and no heartbeat,” she says. “Literally the week before I went to the doctor, everything was fine, but there was no heartbeat.”

The superstar (who will perform at the Super Bowl Half Time show this Sunday, Feb. 3) dealt with the heartache the best way she knew how: Through music.

“I went into the studio and wrote the saddest song I’ve ever written in my life,” she says, although she doesn’t name the track. “And it was actually the first song I wrote for my album. And it was the best form of therapy for me, because it was the saddest thing I’ve ever been through.”

All of which made her successful pregnancy with Blue Ivy all the more exciting and joyful. “Being pregnant was very much like falling in love,” she muse. “You are so open. You are so overjoyed. There’s no words that can express having a baby growing inside of you, so of course you want to scream it out and tell everyone.”

After months of understandable secrecy, she finally did “tell everyone” — in one of the most Tweeted moments in history! — by revealing her bump on the red carpet at MTV Video Music Awards in L.A. Aug. 28, 2011. Later on in the evening, she rubbed her growing belly at the tail end of a lively rendition of “Love on Top.”

[From Us Weekly]

With all of the Pillow Baby Conspiracies, I actually didn’t doubt the fact that Beyonce had suffered a miscarriage a few years ago. I think that actually happened, because I genuinely can’t see Beyonce and Jay-Z making something like that up. The idea that Beyonce was having problems conceiving and/or carrying to term was actually one of the reasons WHY there was such a proliferation of conspiracies. That and, you know, her bump collapsed.

Reports of Beyonce’s diva attitude are ‘pure pulp fiction’ according to the NFL

New images of Beyonce! One of the new images is from her Tumblr – I guess it’s a preview of her Super Bowl Halftime performance, in which she will surely go pantsless. The other new image is her new print ad for her fragrance Pulse NYC. The Photoshop is particularly heavy-handed and artless on that one.

Quick question: am I the only one who will be avoiding the Super Bowl like the plague? Like, I have no interest in the game, the commercials or the Halftime Show. I will cover it because it’s my job, but otherwise, I just don’t “get” why I should care. Is it because I’m a girl? Or is it because I don’t care about football/Beyonce/commercials? But yeah – I acknowledge that this is big business any way you look at it. It’s even big business for the gossip industry, because this week has included a slew of Beyonce-is-a-diva-themed tabloid stories. One tabloid – from the UK – claimed that Beyonce had demanded that Blue Ivy’s “cedar bed” be delivered to NOLA from NYC, and that she wanted the NFL to provide a nursery with rose-scented candles, kept at a constant temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit (which is really warm, right?). An unnamed source claimed that Beyonce is “by far one of the most difficult celebrities we’ve ever dealt with. The list is as long as my arm. She may be a superstar, but this day is about football not her.” Ouch. Thankfully, Beyonce has the NFL doing PR for her nowadays:

Beyonce Knowles is a frickin’ saint … and NOT the demanding, complaining Super Bowl Halftime diva that she’s been made out to be in recent reports … this according to the NFL.

Beyonce has been under fire after reports surfaced saying she’s been “difficult” towards the people putting together her Super Bowl Halftime performance … making ridiculous requests including a demand that Blue Ivy’s backstage nursery be kept at EXACTLY 26 degrees celsius.

But Brian McCarthy, the NFL’s Vice President of Communications, tells TMZ … the reports are “pure pulp fiction” … noting that Beyonce has been nothing short of a pleasure.

“Beyonce and her team have been great to work with throughout this process,” McCarthy says … adding, “We have enjoyed her creativity, vision and spirit in putting on a great show that is truly a Super Bowl performance.”

[From TMZ]

So, who do you believe? Random tabloid sources calling Beyonce a diva? Or named NFL sources saying that she’s a hard worker and not a diva at all? Well… I think Beyonce is a hard worker. I think she’s been busting her ass, and she will bust her ass something fierce during the halftime show. But I also think she’s a diva, but maybe not in the same way as, say, Mariah Carey. Bey’s diva ‘tude is mostly about her being the center of the attention, the greatest, the best, a demi-goddess roaming around on Earth to amuse the peasants. So I fully expect her to hijack the Halftime Show and debut her latest pillow or something. Something to get everyone talking about BEYONCE.

Will Beyonce have to sink her own money into her Super Bowl performance?

Maybe I’m just particularly sleep-deprived (true story), but I keep blanking out about the events in-between the Golden Globes and the Oscars. I honestly plan my entire winter schedule around the Globes and the Oscars (don’t judge me – it’s my job!), but then I blank out about the Super Bowl (because I don’t give a crap) and then I completely forget about the Grammys (because I don’t care about Grammys fashion at all). Anyway, the Super Bowl is this weekend. It will be in New Orleans. Beyonce is the Halftime performer. She’s been rehearsing for weeks – in fact, it’s believed that Beyonce lip-synced the National Anthem at the inauguration because she was “saving her voice” for the Super Bowl. Because that is where her priorities are. Anyway, The Mail has an interesting story about how much money Beyonce is sinking into her Super Bowl performance:

Superstar Beyonce will pay ‘hundreds of thousands’ of dollars to sing at the Super Bowl, MailOnline can reveal. The NFL will pay only production costs – of around $600,000 – for Sunday’s hotly anticipated halftime show, but the costs of putting on the performance are far higher, meaning she will have to find the extra cash.

But don’t feel too sad for Beyonce. She will make millions from the performance due to the free advertising her music will be given, massively boosting sales. And she’s also signed a $50 million deal with halftime show sponsors Pepsi.

The 31-year-old singer is gearing up to perform in front of millions around the world on Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said: ‘We pay the production costs for the halftime show, there is no fee for the artists.’

While explaining the matter, Marc Ganis, president of the consultancy Sportscorp Ltd.told MailOnline the performance would be partly funded by halftime show sponsor Pepsi, with whom Beyonce recently signed a whopping $50 million deal. The deal will even see her face emblazoned across soda cans.

Mr Ganis said: ”Beyonce will not get paid, but her back up singers, her musicians, all the extras – they will be paid by the NFL production budget. But last year, for Madonna’s show, the budget certainly exceeded the budget the NFL gave her, and that will almost certainly be the same this year. This means the artists have to pay the difference out of their own pocket – it won’t be the act themselves, but their business side. Their record label, or even Pepsi could fund it for Beyonce.’

Madonna’s halftime show last year featured Nicki Minaj, Brit singer M.I.A, Cee Lo Green as well as electronic dance duo LMFAO – as well as toga-clad tightrope walker Andy Lewis. It was watched by a whopping 48.3 per cent of the available TV audience, and drew an astonishing 114 million viewers. She is believed to have been given a budget of $600,000 by the NFL to pay for the production – but spent well over $1 million for the performance, which also included chariots, cheerleaders and Givenchy haute couture for the superstar to wear.

While Madonna last year took the opportunity to plug her MDNA tour during the commercial break, Beyonce doesn’t have a new album or tour to promote. Her HBO documentary Life Is But A Dream will air on February 16.

However, Mr Ganis said: ‘A star like Beyonce is constantly producing in the studio, and her albums and hits are in constant rotation. She always needs to stay in the public eye. It will be far greater value to her to sell millions of albums and see her hits go back up the iTunes chart than to spend a few hundreds of thousands of dollars to subsidy this performance. Beyonce, like Madonna, will want to have the performance first class, in the best manner possible.’

In the end, said Mr Ganis, ‘Everyone is a a winner, YouTube replays the videos, iTunes sell the singles, Amazon sells the albums, the viewers get a great show and Pepsi gets a huge star to sell its product.’

Discussing the sponsor, Mr Ganis said that although the NFL selects its talent without looking at the issue of sponsors and artists, it would not have been likely that Beyonce would have appeared in a halftime show sponsored by Pepsi if she had a deal with rival Coke.

Amid swirling rumours Beyonce will reunite with her Destiny’s Child bandmates, Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland – Michelle denied the reports today. Michelle, 32, told WRUG Media: ‘I’m going to be in the musical Fela! I hate to disappoint the people and tell them that it’s not true.’

[From The Mail]

It’s crazy that the NFL gives Halftime performers a budget of $600,000… and they still exceed it and have to eat the rest of the costs. That being said, I doubt that Beyonce will have to put up one dime of her own money. I’m sure Pepsi will be fronting any additional costs, or Bey will find some other sponsor.

Does anyone else wonder if Beyonce isn’t going to just lip-sync her way through the Super Bowl performance too? I’m sure she’s already done the prerecords, and she’ll decide on the day of whether or not to use them. I think the inauguration was a turning point for how people judge Beyonce’s live singing skills – she has a good voice and everything, but when you’re hired to sing live (say, at the inauguration or at the Super Bowl), you better SING LIVE.

Beyonce-gate: sources agree that she had some kind of pre-recorded vocal

Beyonce-gate, Day 4 (if we’re counting the beginning as Inauguration Day). Sources and theories abound about the state of Beyonce and whether or not she sang the National Anthem live. Even the initial reporting was sketchy, with two different Marine Corps band spokespeople saying different things. Here are some of the latest pieces of information:

*White House press secretary Jay Carney actually got Beyonce questions during Wednesday’s press briefing. Think about that!!! Pres. Obama is in the midst of a gun control campaign, he has a slew of new cabinet appointments and Hillary Clinton was giving testimony on Benghazi and the press ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT BEYONCE. Anyway, poor Jay was aksed if the president knew anything about Beyonce’s lipsynching and Carney said he “has not had the discussion with him [Obama]. I am not sure that I understand the variety and contradictory reports on the matter… My understanding, and this is what I recall from the inauguration in 2009, as a precaution, recordings were made. But I actually have no idea what’s true and what’s not about what happened here. And I don’t think it’s a particularly important issue to address from the podium here.”

*A well-known British sound engineer analyzed the footage and he claims that Beyonce sang live AND used a pre-record too.

*An anonymous “inaugural official” (this sh-t is like Watergate!!!!!) told CNN yesterday that “She did not sing live,” and that Bey “made the decision herself” to lip-sync. The official said: “Because she didn’t have time to rehearse with the Marine Band, she decided to use her recording with the Marine Band… It was all Beyoncé.” Conspiracy!!!

*A source confirms to Us Weekly (once again, anonymously) that Beyonce did use “a backing track” and that Beyonce “didn’t think there was anything wrong with it… Pavarotti has done it! It was freezing out, and if she messed up just one note, that would have been the story….Everybody uses these tracks, and the music director advised it. Any big outdoor live performance is almost always with some kind of track.” The insider goes on the clarify – “She did sing, but used a track.” Meaning she sang live and used a back-up recording too? Anyway, Beyonce thinks this whole controversy is “a technicality which everybody does took away from the beauty of the moment.”

Aretha Franklin shades Beyonce: ‘She did a beautiful job with the pre-record’

OH THE SHADE!!! I have to praise the hell out of ABC News for this spectacular get – seriously, their producers deserve a medal. I would have never thought to score an interview with Aretha Franklin to get her to say something hilarious about Beyonce’s alleged lip-synch of the National Anthem during the inauguration. But ABC News got Aretha, and Aretha brought it home for us, delivering a world-class side-eye at Bey. ARETHA 4 EVA.

She has yet to comment on reports that she lip-synched when performing the Star Spangled Banner at President Obama’s inauguration ceremony. But one person not holding back with her crticism of Beyoncé’s reported miming is Aretha Franklin, who admitted she ‘cracked up’ when she heard the news. However, Aretha, who performed at Obama’s first inauguration ceremony back in 2009, told ABC News that the singer had ‘done a beautiful job with the pre-record’.

She said: ‘When I heard the news this evening that she was pre-recorded I really laughed. I thought it was funny because the weather down there was about 46 or 44 degrees and for most singers that is just not good singing weather. When I heard that I just really cracked up. I thought it was really funny, but she did a beautiful job with the pre-record.’

And Aretha said that she had never even thought of miming when she performed My Country ‘Tis of Thee four years ago. She added: ‘I wanted to give people the real thing and pre-recording never crossed my mind.’

Jennifer Lopez also addressed the rumours during an interview on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on Tuesday night.

Asked her opinion on pre-recording the track for such a public event, Jennifer said: ‘Sometimes it happens when you are in certain stadiums and certain venues and things, they do prerecord stuff because you’re going to have that terrible slapback.’

She added: ‘If I remember rightly, Whitney Houston was also recorded when she performed at the Super Bowl. And it was an amazing rendition – everyone loved it and it became a huge hit.’

This is not the only time that Beyonce has been haunted by claims that she did not actually sing when she claimed to: in the 2009 Academy Awards, she starred in a musical number with the show’s host, Hugh Jackman, and many believed that she did not actually sing.

The event’s organisers did not clarify, either, saying only: ‘As is the case with any live event of this scale and scope, there are always elements of the show that are pre-recorded. But I will not go into detail about which elements were on this show.’

Calls to Beyonce’s press representatives from MailOnline were not immediately answered.

The singer’s next major live performance will be at the Superbowl in New Orleans on February 3.

[From The Mail]

I think at this point, everyone is going to be throwing shade at Beyonce, and what shocks me is that The Mail didn’t end the story with this line: “The singer’s next major ‘LIVE’ performance will be at the Superbowl in New Orleans on February 3.” I think we’re all entitled to some sarcastic air-quotes, don’t you? Beyonce sings “live”. She’s going to sing “live” at the Super Bowl. She’s going to rip out her earpiece and bring it home because she’s singing “live”.

Beyonce just released a ton of new photos on her Tumblr too, and all of them are from the inauguration or her “rehearsal” (meaning when she recorded her vocals). And it’s clear that Beyonce is convinced that inauguration was totally ALL ABOUT HER. Here are some of the photos (you can see more here):
