Danny Masterson & Bijou Phillips marry in a Xenu-approved ceremony

fp_1743440_rij_yes_man_61_69

After nearly a decade of dating, Danny Masterson and Bijou Phillips have finally married each other in a ceremony set in the Irish countryside. The pair initially got engaged in March 2009, but work-related commitments kept them from setting aside the time to tie the knot. Well that, and the fact that they were scheduled to marry in April 2010 in Iceland, but the eruption of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano threw a little wrench into that well-crafted soiree. Perhaps the delay was all part of Xenu’s master plan, for the couple are very well-known as “devout Scientologists.” In particular, Bijou has been quite vocal about parroting the words of L. Ron Hubbard in the not-so-distant past:

It’s hard not to mention that both Masterson and Phillips are devout Scientologists. At one point, Phillips goes off on a long tangent about the dangers of psychiatrists medicating patients for depression or anxiety. “My grandparents didn’t take any pills and they were fine. Just buck up and get over it. Stop being such a f–king pansy,” she says, her bird-like voice taking on a deeper tone.

Nice attitude, right? Bijou is very lucky that she’s never experienced the overwhelming depths of depression. God forbid she ever decides to have a child and experiences the hell of post-partum depression either. Of course, I wouldn’t wish that on anyone, and even Scientologists deserve to have happy weddings too:

Danny Masterson and his girlfriend of eight years, Bijou Phillips, tied the knot Tuesday before an intimate group of family and friends in the Irish countryside, their rep confirms exclusively to PEOPLE.

In a nod to Masterson’s Irish heritage, the couple had a formal wedding at a private castle, the picturesque setting of Tipperary serving as their backdrop, during a weeklong celebration.

Phillips, 31, wore a custom Zac Posen gown and Masterson, 35, donned Albert Hammond Jr. for Confederacy.

The groom’s brother Chris Masterson served as best man and guests included actors Ben Foster, Mike Pena and Ethan Suplee and acclaimed artist Gottfried Helnwein.

Masterson proposed to Phillips, his costar in several films, in March 2009.

Despite the whole Scientology angle involving Bijou’s horrific stance on the wog world and the evils of psychiatry, she and Danny do appear to be quite devoted to each other. So here’s to sincerely wishing them a long and happy union together.

I do, however, find it interesting that Bijou is a smoker, since addictions are a big “no no” for the CO$. She should stop being such a pansy and just put down the cigarette.

Drama over Nicky Hilton taking late Casey Johnson’s dogs from Tila Tequila

There was a lot of drama yesterday when Nicky Hilton and Bijou Phillips showed up at Tila Tequila’s house to pick up her late fiance Casey Johnson’s dogs. Nick and Bijou were acting on behalf of the Johnson family, and also retrieved some clothing and bathroom items. Tila was devastated and called the police. The paparazzi filmed as Nicky and Bijou walked out of the house with the dogs. Tila followed braless in a white tank top crying that the dogs were going to be put down and buried with Casey, a ridiculous claim that Bijou denied. A police officer called to the scene said afterwards that he believed the dogs would be cared for by Nicky Hilton, not the Johnson family. As long as Nicky or Bijou keeps them and they don’t get added to Paris’ menagerie, they should be ok.

There’s a battle brewing among Casey Johnson’s closest friends.

Tila Tequila, aka the late heiress’s nominal fiancée, called police to her Los Angeles home today after longtime Johnson pals Nicky Hilton and Bijou Phillips showed up there to retrieve Johnson’s dogs and some belongings on behalf of her family.

But when Tequila refused, things got ugly.

Two LAPD squad cars arrived at the home after a call was placed around 2 p.m., according to department spokeswoman Officer Rosario Herrera. Herrera says there was a “verbal dispute.”

The officers quickly became referees and restored order. Tequila wheeled out a rack of clothing that included fur coats and a Christmas blanket. Both little dogs, who had been locked in a bedroom, were also handed over, as were some bathroom products and packages of insulin.

After the exchange, Tequila told the press, “They don’t care about the dogs. They are putting them to sleep to bury with Casey.” When asked if they were going to put down the animals, Phillips simply said, “No.”

Hilton first tried to get the dogs and duds back last night but was turned away by Tequila, who has apparently been caring for the canines since Johnson died Monday.

The younger Hilton wasn’t just making house calls last night. She held a memorial at her home attended by older sister Paris and other close friends and Johnson family members.

Needless to say, Tequila wasn’t invited.

[From E! Online]

Tila is a crazy attention-you-know-what but I don’t see why she couldn’t have kept the dogs. I would assume that the Johnson family is not fond of Tila and that they may see her as a user who enabled their daughter in her final days. Getting the dogs back from her may be their way of coping with the situation. We heard some harsh words from Casey’s friend Jasmine Lennard, the model that Casey robbed last month, calling Tila “a sick, sick girl” who “took advantage” of Casey. (In response Tila wrote a long venom-filled blog discrediting Jasmine. I couldn’t even read it.) The Johnsons haven’t said anything about Tila but you would imagine their sentiments are the same.

Meanwhile Casey’s adopted three year-old daughter will stay with Casey’s mom, who has been caring for the girl for over a year. The Huffington Post has a video of Casey taken in 2007 in which she talks about her then-pending adoption. She seems kind of detached and she has a flat affect throughout the video, like she’s bored with life. The way she talks about adoption makes it sound like she doesn’t fully understand the requirements of parenting. “My godmother Diandra Douglas adopted baby Imara from Kazakhstan and she’s the most beautiful baby I’ve ever seen. She’s blonde haired blue eyed looks just like Diandra, and I thought ‘Oh my gosh, this is what I’m going to do.’” Casey says that when she saw the photos of the baby she was going to adopt “I can say it was probably the best day of my life.”

In the video Casey talks about buying presents for the daughter she had yet to meet and said that the little girl would be well dressed but not spoiled. “She’s not going to get everything she wants.” When Casey passed she was deep in dept and owed over six figures to creditors. After her parents cut her off she couldn’t even pay the electric bill and probably couldn’t have cared for the little girl on her best day.

Scientologist Bijou Phillips to depressed people: ‘get over it’

80925L3

Bijou Phillips wants you to just get over your depression. And your sadness. And your anxiety. Just tell it to go away, push it out, dance it out, whatever. But don’t you dare act like you’re depressed, or like you just might need the help of a psychiatrist or some medication. In fact, her educated advice is to just, “get over it.” Thanks doctor. Bijou is a Scientologist, which means she doesn’t believe in psychiatrists or psychiatric medication. In fact they don’t just “not believe” in it, they’ve waged an all-out war on the evils of psychiatry. Unfortunately for her, it sounds like Bijou could use a little of it herself.

Scientologist model Bijou Phillips went off on a tangent about the dangers of psychiatrists medicating depression during a recent interview with Paper Magazine.

“My grandparents didn’t take any pills, and they were fine,” Phillips said in the February issue of Paper. “Just buck up and get over it. Stop being such a f—king pansy.”

The budding actress frequents Scientology-sponsored events and spoke out against psychiatry and prescribing patients with medication for such mental illnesses as depression or anxiety.

Phillips, 28, lived alone in New York City after legally emancipating herself from her parents — her father, John Phillips, was in the Mamas and the Papas — when she was 14 years old. After several years on her own, she went to rehab.

Bijou was going off in the Paper magazine article, which was an interview with her and equally Scientologist-y (a word I just made up) longterm boyfriend Danny Masterson. Phillips is not necessarily a model of mental health herself. Filmmaker James Toback had a few interesting things to say about the model/actress, who sounds like she’s all kinds of crazy. Luckily for him, Toback seems to have enjoyed her loose mental health. He called her a “genuine psychopath,” and said she didn’t understand the line between thinking and saying things.

Bijou Phillips — you never knew what the f%@% she would say or do next. There is no line between her unconscious and her articulation of it and her behavior. She is a genuine psychopath. I say that with affection and admiration, because she’s also incredibly smart and talented, so she knows how to amuse and how to get and hold attention. If she were just a psychopath, you wouldn’t want to use her; you’d just be bored. But she is always kind of amusing and interesting, and if one thing isn’t working she has a good sense of it, and she just starts on something else.

[From Salon.com]

I really get annoyed with anyone who tells someone else how they should deal with their emotions. Especially in Phillips’ case, when she’s essentially saying that she has a better way of dealing with things than everyone else. It shows how limited her understanding of complex emotions really is. Perhaps she was able to just get over things, but maybe that means things just don’t affect her as deeply as they do others. Perhaps the answer is empathy instead of cold judgment.

Here’s Bijou with boyfriend Danny Masterson at the “Choke” New York screening on September 24th. Images thanks to Bauer-Griffin.
