Music’s latest feud: Lance Bass vs. 50 Cent

spx-010197.jpg

Referring to Lance Bass and music together in the same sentence seems kind of weird, but there it is. The guy was the bass (ironically enough) in ‘Nsync, after all. Not exactly known for their Grammy-winning musical prowess. Remember the scary East Coast/West Coast rap feuds of the nineties? You know, the ones where rappers (and their assorted posses) were shooting other rappers (and their assorted posses) for being from the wrong side of the ocean? Well those flames are heating up again.

Lance Bass and 50 Cent (real name: Curtis James Jackson III) are releasing books at the same time, and even held their launch parties on the same night. At 50′s party in New York’s Philippe Tuesday, he told the New York Daily News that Bass better watch his back. “He doesn’t stand a chance,” the rapper said as he promoted his coffee-table book, 50 x 50. Later that night, at Bass’s own NYC launch party at hotspot Azza for his new tell-all book, Out of Sync: A Memoir, the former ‘N Sync member – who came out in 2006 to PEOPLE – hit back at the rapper.

“50′s going down, that’s all I have to say,” he joked. “50, I don’t want to playa-hate, but there’s a lot that my book has [that yours doesn't]. Including, Bass says, two things in particular: “I’m pretty sure he doesn’t have any relationships with guys in that book. And I’m pretty sure he doesn’t have any space training, either.”

50 added, he’s been in this situation before. “With me, everything’s a competition, so I bet you the end of next week, I’ll be moving more copies than him,” 50 said. “This is the same competition – this is Kanye West and 50 Cent all over again!”

[From People]

Yeah I’m guessing there are no allusions to gay sex in 50’s coffee table book. Though that would make for one of the better coffee table books I’ve seen in a while. I’m really worried that one of these guys is going to knock the other one out (I’m guessing the weapon of choice will be a bottle of Vitamin Water or a tin of spike-inducing hair gel). There will be a big hullabaloo (because you know a lot of music feuds involve hullabaloos) and then their moms will meet at one of the MTV awards shows and embrace on stage, and everything will be more or less okay after that. This is pretty much Biggie and Tupac all over again.

Jessica Seinfeld busted plaguarizing recipes (update)

jessicaseinfeldbusted.jpg
When we covered the story of how Jessica Seinfeld kissed Oprah’s ass for making her new cookbook a best seller, I mentioned that commentors on Amazon were saying that the book was not as good as an earlier one that also had recipes to trick your kids to eat vegetables by sneaking them into other foods, The Sneaky Chef. It turns out that not only is the idea for Seinfeld’s book unoriginal, the recipes are suspiciously similar to that Sneaky Chef book, which came out this April.

Seinfeld’s book Deceptively Delicious is the top selling book in the US now, and she might need the proceeds from sales to pay for hefty litigation from Missy Chase Lapine, the author of The Sneaky Chef.

Just listen to how close the earlier book’s recipes are to Seinfeld’s:

But chef and baby-products mogul Missy Chase Lapine came out in April with a book, “The Sneaky Chef: Simple Strategies for Hiding Healthy Foods in Kids’ Favorite Meals.” Lapine baked her spinach brownies with Al Roker on the “Today” show; Seinfeld shared her spinach brownies with Oprah on that show last week.

Mothers on Oprah.com and parenting sites have noted similarities after perusing the puree-spattered pages of both. Some wondered whether the wealthy Seinfeld didn’t have cooks who helped cook up her recipes.

Seinfeld writes about having an epiphany that, “While I was cooking dinner, pureeing butternut squash for the baby and making mac and cheese for the rest of us, I had the crazy idea of stirring a little of the puree into the macaroni. … The colors matched -you couldn’t really see the squash in there -and the texture was perfect.”

Lapine, who founded the Baby Spa natural products line, writes: “If you want to hide something in macaroni and cheese, you have to match the color of the dish. You could easily introduce white bean puree in the mac and cheese.”

Seinfeld and Lapine both have recipes for mashed potatoes with hidden cauliflower, grilled cheese with secret sweet potatoes, green eggs made with pureed baby spinach, and carrot-laced tacos.

Lapine stayed hidden herself when we called, but Craig Herman, an executive at her publisher, Running Press, said ominously: “I won’t be able to comment until next week.”

[From NY Daily News]

I could see if Seinfeld had one or two of the same recipes as the earlier cookbook. You might independently come up with a couple of the same combinations if you’re using that concept, like cauliflower with mashed potatoes or spinach in brownies. But green eggs with pureed baby spinach, carrots in tacos and grilled cheese with sweet potatoes? That’s too unique to be a coincidence.

One commentor on Amazon said she did a taste comparison with her friends and their kids of those recipes Seinfeld ripped off from Lapine’s book, and the original Sneaky Chef won for every recipe that Seinfeld copied for Deceptively Delicious. There was just one draw, for a peanut butter and jelly muffin recipe.

I hope Seinfeld has to give a high percentage of the proceeds of her book to the earlier author. It’s not fair that celebrities and their relatives can go into any field they want and become instant successes on name power and insider connections. (Thanks Commentor Granger for bringing this up on the earlier post.)

The author of The Sneaky Chef, Missy Chase Lapine, is a chef on the faculty of The New School in NY City, and is the former publisher of Eating Well magazine. She also founded a natural baby care product line called Baby Spa. What did Jessica Seinfeld do other than leave her rich husband right after her honeymoon to hook up with an infinitely richer husband? Oh that’s right, she was in marketing at Tommy Hilfiger, and she has kids. That must qualify her to write a cookbook.

Maybe this will make publishers and financial backers think twice before greenlighting projects by celebrities who think that they can go into anything on a whim. Seinfeld probably read The Sneaky Chef and thought “I can do that too, and if I change the recipes a little no one will ever know.”

Update: People Magazine reports that Seinfeld told The Wall St. Journal “I’ve never held that book in my hands, and I swear that on my life.” That’s a curious choice of words, especially considering that the full chapter listing of all recipes is available for The Sneaky Chef online at Amazon.

Jessica Seinfeld gave Oprah 20k worth of shoes as a thank you

jba-001555.jpg
Jessica Seinfeld was on Oprah last week to promote her new cook book Deceptively Delicious, which has recipes that teach you how to trick your kids to eat vegetables by pureeing them up and putting them in baked goods and other kid favorites like chicken nuggets. The book became a best seller this week, and to thank Oprah, Mrs. Seinfeld sent her 21 pairs of some of the most expensive shoes available, mostly red-soled Christian Louboutins, with a note that “there are no words.”

This story sickened me a little, because Oprah is worth $1.4 billion as of last year and she just doesn’t need material things. Still, she fawned over the shoes like she does all the other pricey shit on her “Oprah’s favorite things” episodes, which just makes average people feel like we need expensive brand name luxuries in order to be happy and fulfilled like Queen Oprah.

Here is a clip from the show yesterday. Jerry Seinfeld was on to promote Bee Movie, in which Oprah has a voice cameo. Oprah of course thanked Jessica for the extravagant thank you.

After hearing this story I was interested in Seinfeld’s book, as I have a three year old and it’s very hard to get him to eat vegetables. A lot of commentors on Amazon noted that this topic was covered better in an earlier cookbook called The Sneaky Chef, in which the recipes are a lot more palatable for children by some accounts. Many people expressed dismay that Jessica Seinfeld would publish a book so similar to The Sneaky Chef without providing an acknowledgment of their efforts or inspiration.

I’m inclined to believe she did get a lot of ideas from the earlier cookbook, considering that she decided to spend $20k instead of taking the time to come up with a thoughtful thank you note to Oprah. Then again, Oprah wouldn’t have acknowledged a simple card on the air, no matter how rich and meaningful the prose.

Thanks to The Huffington Post for the video and to US Magazine for the link to the story.

Jessica and Jerry Seinfeld are shown at the opening of The Odd Couple on Broadway on 10/27/05. Thanks to PRPhotos.

Howard K Stern sues the pants off of gravel-voiced Rita Cosby

jtm-017127.jpg

I’m no giant Larry Birkhead fan, nor am I at all a Howard K Stern fan, but I gotta say that sometimes there are really justified lawsuits, and this sure sounds like one. Rita Cosby – the former MSNBC anchorwoman with a voice that reminds you of running across playground gravel – wrote a book titled “Blonde Ambition: The Untold Story Behind Anna Nicole Smith’s Death” in which she accused Howard K Stern and Larry Birkhead of being gay lovers. Now I can’t deny that Birkhead has a bit of a case of “gay face” as Perez Hilton calls it – but her accusations seem like complete horseshit. From pretty much every opinion we’ve ever head, Stern was freakishly obsessed with Anna Nicole, and desperately in love with her. I know we could make a lot of arguments, but sometimes, you can just tell something is pure bullshit, and Cosby is one of them. I’m probably tainted by the fact that I have an intense loathing for the woman – has anyone ever suggested she try clearing her throat? It could do wonders for the voice. There’s just something about her that always struck me as hackish and desperate, and she never seemed like a real reporter. She was all over the Anna Nicole mess – and I know we’re not ones to criticize, but hey, we don’t work for MSNBC either.

So Howard Stern has sued Cosby for libel – and though I don’t like him, I hope he takes every sent that crazy woman has.

“Usmagazine.com confirms that former Anna Nicole Smith lawyer Howard K. Stern has sued journalist Rita Cosby for libel. Stern’s lawyer Lin Wood tells Us, ‘The libel lawsuit was filed this afternoon in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York against Rita Cosby and her publisher, Hachette Book Group USA.’

“The lawsuit, which was first reported by CelebTV.com, asks for $60 million dollars in compensatory and punitive damages.

“Former MSNBC anchor Cosby is the author of Blonde Ambition: The Untold Story Behind Anna Nicole Smith’s Death. In the book, she writes that Stern, 38, and Larry Birkhead, Smith’s former lover and the father of her daughter, Dannielynn, engaged in homosexual acts, which were caught on tape. Further, the book alleges that Stern and Birkhead struck a deal — Birkhead would get custody of Dannielynn in exchange for Stern being named executor of Smith’s estate.

“Before the book’s release, Birkhead, 34, told Us of Cosby’s claims, ‘If this book is not sitting next to Harry Potter on the fiction shelf, then Rita Cosby is going to be wrapped in one of the most expensive lawsuits ever.’”

[From Us Magazine]

Considering all of the gay love accusations in Cosby’s book were based on this supposed tape of Stern and Birkhead going at it, that woman better be able to produce a tape. On the other hand, I really don’t believe a tape exists – as a lawyer, I doubt Stern would risk a lawsuit that would likely force such a tape to be played. Would he really expose himself to that? Probably not. Like I said, I think Rita Cosby’s a hack and full of shit. She got canned by MSNBC and went out drinking and partying and dancing on bars all over Manhattan afterwards. I’m a total current events junkie, and can tell you everything you never needed to know about almost every cable journalist out there. And Rita Cosby couldn’t cut it, so she wrote some crap-ass book to try to get herself a little publicity. Congratulations Rita. Now you’ll lose every penny of that $48,000 MSNBC probably paid you.

Picture Note by Jaybird: Here’s Rita Cosby and her “the frog in my throat ate some gravel” voice. Just listen for 30 seconds to get the point, but no longer – I don’t want any of you to suffer hearing loss… or nightmares. Images thanks to PR Photos.

Kirk Douglas: Still kicking ass at 90

90 year-old screen legend Kirk Douglas is promoting his latest memoir, “Let’s Face It,” a talkative book that discusses his take on life after 9 decades and two close brushes with death. In 1991 he suffered severe back injuries after a helicopter he was in crashed into a light stunt plane, killing two young people. The pain and recovery from the crash led him to turn to the Jewish religion, and as he lay in bed he read the Torah, calling it “the best screenplay ever written.”

The elder Douglas also had a stroke in 1996, which resulted in speech problems. Another life changing event was the loss of youngest son Eric, Michael’s half brother, who died of a drug overdose in 2004.

Kirk has been married to the same woman, his second wife Anne, for 53 years. Anne, who grew up in Belgium, was new to the country and struggling with the language when she married the screen star after meeting him in Paris. He says he was attracted to “Her vicious sense of humor.” In a chapter in “Let’s Face It” titled “Romance Begins at Eighty,” Douglas tells how he surprises his wife, a breast cancer survivor, with little romantic gestures.

As to how to make your marriage last, he says that it’s about focusing on how you can make a difference as a couple. “Be understanding of each other, but don’t focus only on your relationship. Reach out and be concerned with the world around you.” [From JewishJournal.com]

Douglas urges us, the Internet generation, to do what we can to heal this messed-up world. He is promoting his book via YouTube using the video below and on MySpace. He says “I believe in the power of the internet. This is the first book that I am promoting virtually because I am hoping that my universal message will spread on blogs and websites. We live in a global world and the future is in the hands of the younger generation.” Here’s an excerpt from the book:

I started life as a poor boy who didn’t have enough to eat, I became a crook. The next door neighbor had a fine tomato garden — tomatoes are my favorite vegetable. One day when I sneaked in the garden and picked a big ripe tomato, the owner shot some buckshots in my ass. That ended that. My next victim was on the other side where my neighbor had chickens. I love eggs, and where do you find eggs? Where the chickens are. In the early morning I would quietly sneak into the barn and grab a few eggs, sometimes eggs that were lying under the chicken. I love raw eggs. I would crack them open and swallow them on the spot. The owner must have gotten wise, he moved the chickens.

I graduated to more daring ventures. There was a fruit stand at the corner with fruits and vegetables attractively displayed. I walked by for a preliminary survey and spotted a big luscious tomato. My mouth water and I went back and deftly swiped the tomato. A hand reached out and grabbed me. I was looking up in the face of a tall stern man. “Does that tomato belong to you?” he asked. I was frightened, I answered, “no sir.”

“It belongs to the store keeper who paid for it and he was selling it to make money to take care of his family. Do you understand?” his voice became very harsh. “Yes sir,” I answered timidly.

“Well don’t ever take things that don’t belong to you,” and he gave my arm a final squeeze. It hurt. “Do you understand?” he said menacingly. “Yes sir.” He let me go.

Again I was caught and decided never to steal again, but I always thought I could have been a good crook.

[From Press Release for "Let's Face It"]

“Let’s Face It” is Douglas’ 11th book. Among his works are other memoirs, novels and children’s books.

Kirk Douglas has three surviving children, actor Michael Douglas, and producers Joel Douglas and Peter Vincent Douglas. IMDB lists 89 films to his credit.

Kirk Douglas is shown at a book signing yesterday at Barnes and Noble in Encino, CA. Thanks to Splash News.

Here’s his video from YouTube, which is a cute compendium of his film clips and was made some time ago:

OJ Simpson angry and delusional

Yesterday Ron Goldman’s family was finally awarded all of the rights to OJ Simpson’s book “If I did it.” The family first won a $38 million wrongful death lawsuit against Simpson in the late nineties. Simpson has publicly declared that he will never voluntarily pay the Goldmans a penny, even if it means he never works for the rest of his life. When he wrote his “hypothetical” book, he created a shell company in his children’s’ names, so that he could still get the money and the Goldmans couldn’t touch it. Well obviously that didn’t work out to well, as they, and most of the rest of the world, were incredibly offended that Simpson would write such a book and actually get to keep his reported $1 million advance. So they took him to court and have now won the rights to everything regarding the book, which has been auctioned off. They’ve decided to publish it under the True Crime genre. Simpson has again lashed out against the Goldman family, saying that if he can’t make money off the book, neither should they. He did an interview broadcast on business news Web site Market News First on Tuesday.

“I find it sort of hypocritical that they talked everybody in America to boycott the book: it was ‘immoral,’ it was ‘blood money,’” he told interviewer Kate Delaney. “But we now see it wasn’t ‘blood money’ if they got the money.”

Goldman attorney David Cook said his clients were justified in accepting rights to the book as payment for the judgment against Simpson.

“Mr. Simpson himself has placed us in this horrific setting of seeking to liquidate this asset,” he said. “His comments are beyond redemption.”

[From the Associated Press]

In another snippet of his interview, Simpson talked about how hard his life was considering what a great guy he is, and how very, very unfair this world is.

“To me, it hurts me the most. The two things that hurts me the most— well, other than being considered a murderer and all that— is that to some degree, exposing this racial divide, which might be a good thing. I don’t know. It’s being considered a batterer when every girl I’ve ever dated stood by me during the trial. Every girl I’ve ever dated, when Interpol in Europe and the FBI and everybody interviewed them and said, That’s not O.J.

And even Nicole’s closest friends will tell you that after we split up and even while we were going through our divorce, every time she had a problem, her closest friend will tell you she would come to me. If she had problems with guys or how to handle guy, I was the guy she came to for advice, and yet I ended up through one incident on a New Year’s night, which we’ll talk about tomorrow, became the poster boy for abuse. And that hurts me. That still hurts me.”

[Snipped from On the Record with Greta Van Susteren]

The Goldman family was then interviewed by Greta Van Susteren on FOX news, where Fred Goldman responded.

“The killer [Simpson] several months ago filed bankruptcy of his sham company that he used to move the money from HarperCollins to himself. And in an effort to stop us from getting the rights to the book in California, he filed bankruptcy.

The bottom line is that when all was said and done, the court awarded us the rights to the book through bankruptcy, and turns out that’s a good thing as far as we’re concerned. We took away an asset of his that he was protecting, that he was using to make money. We took it away. He will never make money with it again.”

[From On the Record with Greta Van Susteren]

Kim Goldman, Ron’s younger sister, added the following:

“You know, our hope with acquiring the rights, obviously, like my father said, was to take something away from him. But at this point, you know, we have an opportunity to try to turn this around and do something positive with it. You know, my father and I for a long time have wanted to start a foundation, which we did. We launched it. And you know, with a portion of the proceeds of the book going to the foundation, we hope for better situations of other victims of crime. So we’re going to work very hard to make this an easier process as we move forward.”

[From On the Record with Greta Van Susteren]

O.J. Simpson is so delusional it boggles the mind. Not only is he a murderer, but he’s angry that people don’t treat him like the special, wonderful celebrity that he believes he is. Someone who should be able to kill and avoid the law, be it jail or financial judgments. He’s truly mad that these people are still upset that he killed their son. I can’t even say much, I get so mad just knowing that a person like this can exist in the world.

Wonder Years actress: being smart is cool

mathdoesntsuck.jpg
Actress Danica McKellar, who played Winne Cooper on “The Wonder Years,” is coming out with a book to encourage teenage girls to get into math, noting, “’I want to tell girls that cute and dumb isn’t as good as cute and smart.’” Touché. McKellar, 32, has just written a book titled “Math Doesn’t Suck: How to Survive Middle-School Math Without Losing Your Mind or Breaking a Nail” to persuade girls that there’s value to being intelligent, and it will ultimately bring you more success than focusing on your looks. And McKellar clearly doesn’t need to reassure herself; she has some gorgeous shots in this month’s Details magazine. She’s also not simply putting her name on the book, as she graduated summa cum laude from UCLA with a degree in Mathematics. During that time, she had a paper published in Britain’s “Journal of Physics A: Mathematics & General” which provided a mathematical proof for a theorem dealing with magnetism in two dimensions. She now has a theorem named after her, the “Chayes-McKellar-Winn Theorem.” So it’s fair to say, McKellar definitely has a leg to stand on.

“’When girls see the antics of Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, they think that being fun and glamorous also means being dumb and irresponsible,’ the 32-year-old McKellar told Newsweek for editions to hit newsstands Monday.

“’But I want to show them that being smart is cool,’ she said. ‘Being good at math is cool. And not only that, it can help them get what they want out of life.’”

[From the Washington Post]

Regardless of if it’s cool or not, I can’t do anything fancier than long division. But I’m impressed with people that can. I hope her book gets more press, especially among teenage girls. I’m not sure when it became cool to be dumb, vain, and materialistic. I read some feminist magazine article that traced it back to the re-emergence of pink as the “it” color. I won’t go there, but I do think it’s great that there’s someone out there who is both brilliant and beautiful, which shows girls that they don’t have to compromise either one. McKellar’s book also has profiles for three gorgeous mathematicians. So instead of taking your daughter/niece/kid you baby-sit to the next Lindsay Lohan movie, spend the $10 on a book that teaches her there’s more to life than good hair and bad movies.

LA Premiere of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

U.S. Premiere Of Warner Bros. "Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix" - Arrivals

Harry Potter mania is about to hit. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is out in US theaters on Wednesday while the last book in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, is out next Saturday, July 21.

Advance reviews for the film are overwhelmingly positive, with a current 87% aggregate critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Several critics have written that it’s the best Harry Potter film yet, and that it’s darker and scarier than its four predecessors.

As for the book, I have to admit I’ve read all the other Harry Potter titles and although I won’t be waiting in line for it I’ll be sure to snatch up a copy within a few days of its release.

Diehard Harry Potter fans are planning a media blackout next weekend so that the end is not spoiled for them. JK Rowling has said that two characters will die at the end of the series, and a lot of speculation has surrounded her claims. She said she was crying while writing the end of the book and that she was devastated to end it. Fans want to know who dies, but not until they get a chance to read the whole book first.

Now, as the July 21 release of the seventh and final book in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, approaches, fans who have waited the better part of a decade to find out the ultimate fate of Harry, his friends and his nemeses are taking no chances.

But how far do they have to go? Must they close their eyes, cover their ears and scream, “LALALALA?”

Pretty much. In fact, if you want to get in touch with a rabid Harry Potter fan on the weekend of July 21-22, you might be out of luck.

Readers are planning media blackouts — no computers, no cell phones, no TV, no radio. And if that’s not enough, they’re threatening to get physical.

“I’ll beat the crap out of the person who spoils it for me,” Pritthish Chakraborty wrote in an e-mail. Chakraborty, 17, who runs a fan Web site, Harry Potter Beyond, in his native Bangladesh, was spoiled two years ago when a “friend” sent a picture message to his cell phone of the page describing Dumbledore’s death.

Many fans don’t want to give up the excitement and camaraderie of a midnight release party, but they know they’re putting themselves at risk.

“We advise people — I know this is terrible — to bring headphones to the book release and put them on as they leave the store so they’re not subject to the idiot across the street screaming the end to them,” said Melissa Anelli, a webmaster of the Leaky Cauldron, a prominent Harry Potter fan site.

[AP Article from the Houston Chronicle thanks to Viv for e-mailing it.]

In 2005 some fans were upset to have the end of the last book yelled out at them as they left bookstores early in the morning of the release.

I’m the kind of person that can’t resist looking up spoilers, but that wouldn’t keep me from reading the book as all the fun is getting there.

LL Cool J’s new workout book

I was watching the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, (not that I recommend it as I find him kind of hoaky) and LL Cool J was on. He has a new workout book called “LL Cool J’s Platinum Workout” that he says is about being the best that you can be. People assume there’s some trick to getting buff or that celebrities are fit because they have so many advantages, but LL said that it just takes work. I was impressed with how genuinely enthused he is about fitness, and all of the positive things he said. He said working out helps you think better, makes you feel more confident, and helps you do better at any job. It gives you energy that you can tap into to achive your goals in life.

LL is really ripped, and he doesn’t take steriods and that’s what his book is about. In another interview that I found online, LL says the book is not about quick fixes, and tries to help people make lifestyle changes that last:

It’s about correct form. It’s about meal plans as opposed to diets. It’s a lifestyle book. I think that’s what separates it from all these quick fixes. You have all of these books that promise great abs in 30 seconds, that promise that you’ll be in shape in three easy weeks. You see the results when you see me. I’m a walking billboard and a living witness to the fact that everything in this book is real; it’s really been done.

It’s aimed at people who want to be in shape or people who want to change their lives. There is no age, there is no demographic for fitness — fitness is for everyone…

Once you have a roaring flame, it doesn’t take as many logs to keep it going. At this point, I’ll sit down and eat ice cream and have some apple pie. But I’m also working out all week, and I’m in shape and still burning fat. It’s a little different from someone who maybe feels like they are 15 or 30 pounds overweight. They can’t cheat yet. Once you get to a certain point, you can kind of live a little bit, and that’s a good thing. My focus is on getting this book out there and benefiting as many people as I can with it. I’m so excited about my book that I wake up in the middle of the night and can’t think of anything else.

LL has one more album coming out with Def Jam, and was the first artist signed to the label when Russell Simmons started it. He has the last album under his current contract due in April of this year.

Although he didn’t talk about it on the show, he recently gave a generous gift of custom made cribs to P. Diddy’s twins. Diddy had the $2,250 cribs on his baby registry.

Britney’s first husband to write tell-all book

The guy with the big ears who married Britney Spears in Vegas who would have made a much more suitable companion than K-Fed is speaking out – uh, again.

Britney supposedly called him last week to thank him for a positive interview he gave after her divorce became public. Alexander told People Magazine that K-Fed was an idiot and that he’d be there for Britney if she needed help. Was she testing the water to see if he might be a decent guy to rebound with?

Britney might not be so willing to talk to Alexander after reading this latest interview. Hopefully he was paid well for it because he does dish the dirt. Jason Alexander says Britney likes the ladies but that he doesn’t know firsthand whether she’s slept with a woman. He also says she had a tummy tuck after her second child was born.

He claims there’s no way he would get back with Britney again. This seems to be a turnaround from his previous statements that he still loves her. Chances are he saw her once-coveted snatch online like the rest of us.

Alexander is cashing in with a tell-all book about Britney, which may also be a reason for him to shut the door on a future relationship:

Jason also added: “All beautiful girls like other girls in some way. All girls are attracted to other girls. She found other girls attractive, yes, but we never did anything about it.

“Our relationship was about us. We just weren’t together long enough for that to come up really.” Then he teased: “That’s not to say that I don’t know anything about threesomes.

“Paris is a good friend of hers. They both have the same issues. They are both in the spotlight.

“Britney has to get out there now and be seen to be looking good and so on. She’s doing all that. She’s been locked down for two years.

She had a tummy tuck after the birth of her second child. She’s working on all of that. She’s worth hundreds of millions — of course she looks good.

“She has the money to have surgery and nutritionists and get her body back. And now she’s focused, she is doing it. She’s motivated — she just got rid of a man.”

Jason reckons Britney’s advisers played a part in her decision to dump her dancer husband. He claimed: “Further up the ladder this is a corporate thing — and they decide about certain changes.

“Her negativity around Kevin at this point in her career had to go. She’s been out of the picture for two years and this is big business.

“She’s trying to come back, recording a new album. He refused to have any part of her life and was slowing down her career. She knows she has to get rid of all of that.”

Despite his strong feelings for his former love, he claims he would never want a relationship with her again.

He said: “There is no way I would allow anything between us now. She’s got two kids and that’s a responsibility I’m not willing to take on. Right now I’m in the prime of my life and I want my freedom.”

Jason has written a book about growing up with Britney in Louisiana. And he has promised to lift the lid on their sex life.

He said: “I have done the first treatment of the book. It’s about a small town guy and all the crazy events that happened.

“It focuses on all the stuff that no one knows.

“It’s about the marriage, my friendship with Britney and all the lines in between.

“Britney knows about it. There are things in the book that will upset her. There will be things in the book she will be mad at.

“It’s all the details of the wedding and all the stuff that’s been going on.

“It talks about everything. There is no holding back because that’s what people want to know about.

“It does feature our sex life. It does feature having sex with her and what that was like.”

I guess if you get to bang a star you should try to cash in while you still have a chance. Maybe people are right and Britney is trying to give up the goods so that a sex tape or tell-all book about her isn’t as valuable.

Britney bought 3k worth of underwear this week at the same boutique where Katie Holmes stocked up on her honeymoon lingerie and the world rolled its burning eyes.
