Cameron Diaz in Paris: still tweaked & jacked, or actually looking better?

As CB covered yesterday, Cameron Diaz is in Paris, where she’s been going to seemingly every Paris fashion show, and I swear, she must have had ten costume changes in a 48-hour period. The British tabloids are making a big deal about Camy’s waxy, Botoxy face, but… honestly, I think she’s looking a little bit better. Last year, Camy was looking really, really puffy, busted and jacked, and it honestly seems like her face has deflated a bit in these photos. If you told me she was still hitting the ‘Tox, I wouldn’t disagree with you. But I just think there’s a significant improvement in these photos.

I can’t really tell in these photos if Camy really did get a boob job. There were some bikini photos a month or two ago where it seemed like she definitely had gotten them done, but fully clothed, Cameron’s boobs look only slightly bigger. So, if she really did get them done, I applaud her for getting implants that suit her frame.

PS… I love her outfit here. I really want that jacket.

Charlize Theron looks “off” in Palm Springs: did she get fillers & lip injections?

Here are some photos of Charlize Theron at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on Saturday. Young Adult picked up an Ensemble Award, and Charlize and Patton Oswalt were on hand to pick up their trophies. Charlize’s dress is Lanvin (Spring 2012 dress), and that’s not a full slit down to the bottom of the dress – it’s a cut-out! Isn’t that weird? It’s a strange design detail, I think. And only a woman with Charlize’s figure could really pull it off.

But really, we need to talk about this:

And this:

Apparently, there have been rumors about Charlize Theron’s alleged plastic surgery for a while. I’ve never really thought her face looked “off” until the past few months, though. Here’s what I think happened: Charlize took a few years off, hung out, recovered from her breakup with Stuart Townsend, and then she filmed Young Adult. When it came time to begin promoting the film, Charlize went in for some “minor” cosmetic work, like some lip injections, maybe some Botox or just a slight amount of fillers. The work made her appear slightly puffy on some red carpets, and it gave the lower half of her face a weird stiffness. I don’t think this is the product of surgery, and I hope that Charlize stops doing whatever she’s doing. Her whole upper lip looks completely “off” to me. And she looks high as a kite, on top of all of that.

Cindy Crawford has a face full of Botox & fillers, experts say

Last year, I began to document Cindy Crawford’s descent into Botox-faced tragedy. I had always liked Cindy – she radiated a healthy, accessible beauty, and she was one of the big supermodels that I grew up with. But in May of 2011, Cindy’s Botox-face took a turn for the worse – it looked like she had a bad batch of ‘Tox or something, and one of her eyebrows was stuck in a weird angle. And then in October, she started to look super-puffy, like she’d gone in for the motherlode of fillers. Now, Cindy admitted years ago that she had gone in for Botox, and she wasn’t “above” some minor cosmetic work. But it gets to the point – and everyone gets to this point – where I have to ask: wouldn’t she look better had she not messed with her face at all? Anyway, Radar has one of their “expert claims random celebrity does X,Y,Z” stories, and this one is about what Cindy MIGHT be doing to her face.

Cindy Crawford attended the Los Angeles Lakers game on Tuesday night looking a little different in the face, and a board certified dermatologist exclusively tells RadarOnline.com it’s because the former supermodel appears to have had injections.

“Her cheeks are a lot fuller. She definitely had something injected in her cheeks. Most probably Radiesse or the other option would be Sculptra,” Dr. Ben Behnam said.

“They’re both designed to give people higher cheekbones. It’s very popular in the industry and her cheeks are visibly higher and fuller.”

On top of fillers and injections, Dr. Behnam tells RadarOnline.com it looks like the 45-year-old beauty had some Botox.

“Her eyebrows are also higher than before. She probably used Botox to raise the brow,” he said.

“Something else that’s different is she doesn’t have the definition in her jaw area, which could just be because she’s getting older.”

According to Dr. Behnam, injections like Sculptra are typically done over a period of months and can last years, so it’s hard to tell when the mother of two had the procedure done.

“She has what’s called the Triangle of Beauty (one side of the cheek to the other cheek to the chin area, creates a triangle) and right now she’s losing that triangle,” Dr. Behnam said.

“It gives her that look of not being young anymore. Because that’s how we perceive youth, is the triangle of beauty.”

Let’s not forget, Cindy has her own skin care line called Meaningful Beauty, which brags that it’s “Cindy’s anti-aging secret.”

Secret or no secret, “She still looks good for someone her age!” Dr. Behnam says.

[From Radar]

Cindy is 45 years old – and I kind of think she looks her age, if not older, with all of this extra work. Which just shows how far our perceptions of aging have been skewed. We look at puffy Botox-faces and our eyes register that something terrible has happened, but we’ve grown so accustomed to it, we just say, “Oh, she looks good… for her age.”

Besides that, it must be creepy for Cindy to have to hang out with all of George Clooney’s pieces every holiday, right? Especially since so many of them resemble her old face.

Jennifer Aniston: “People think that I do a lot of injections, but I don’t”

Over the Thanksgiving holiday, DirectTV gave me some free movie channels, and at one point in my orgy of turkey, ham and wine, I caught twenty minutes of Just Go With It. It was terrible – much worse than even I was expecting. It’s like everybody in that film just agreed to go to Hawaii and get paid and they didn’t even bother with a proper script or anything. Anyway, I watched a scene with Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Aniston, and it shocked me. Nicole’s face was frozen and jacked, obviously, but she was trying to make some facial expressions, and it worked sometimes. The shocking part? Parts of Jennifer Aniston’s face looked more frozen than Nicole’s. During that film, Aniston had something weird going on with her mouth/cheeks/lower face. Like, Aniston could move her eyebrows but she was talking oddly, like she couldn’t feel her upper lip or something.

So – do you really think Aniston gets injectables? I’ve figured her for a Restylane girl for several years now – they make a face look “fuller” and younger, and I always think Aniston has gotten some fresh injections when she looks particularly apple-cheeked. In the new issue of InStyle, Aniston comes close to admitting it:

Jennifer Aniston thanks her Greek genes for her cool California glow, but the actress admits she’s starting to see a few negative effects from her years of sun worshiping.

“I’ve started getting those little sun spots,” she tells InStyle. “Things are beginning to pop out. Even the texture [of my skin] is changing. So I’ve recently started zapping the spots and getting spray tans whenever I can. And I’ve graduated to using SPF 60 sunblock when I’m on the beach.”

She quickly dispels any rumors of cosmetic enhancements, however. “People think that I do a lot of injections, but I don’t,” she states. “I’m not saying that I haven’t tried it … but I see how it’s a slippery slope.” Still, she plans to stay away for the time being. “All that cosmetic stuff looks ridiculous on me,” she shares.

Revealing that she tints her eyelashes every three weeks (“I hate wearing mascara,” she says) and that she used to keep scissors in her car’s glove compartment to trim split ends (“It was a weird tic,” she admits), the star says she wasn’t always confident about her looks.

“I was a dumpy teenager,” she shares. “My mom was a model and was all about looks, so I rebelled by going goth. It took me years of peeling back the onion to finally stop using makeup as a mask and feel comfortable in my skin.”

But these days, the “Sexiest Woman of All Time” takes comments on her looks in stride.

“I quit smoking a few months ago and I put on a couple of pounds,” she says. “Normally I’d be like, ‘Oh my god, I gained weight! Everyone is going to think I’m pregnant!’” Not anymore. “Now,” she says, “I just don’t care.”

[From People]

Tinted eyelashes? I’ve never done that. Is it a quick process? Why does it have to be done every three weeks? So many questions. As for her skin care – well, yes, of course. She’s been an unapologetic sunbather for years and years. She loves to roast herself under the hot Mexican sun. Of course there’s going to be long-term skin damage, and fake-baking isn’t really going to help, either. That will just turn the skin damage a nice shade of orange!

But let‘s talk about: “I’m not saying that I haven’t tried it … but I see how it’s a slippery slope.” Meaning what? That she has tried it and she found the maintenance of monthly injections exhausting? Oh, and I also think she’s been fooling around with collagen lip injections too – at least she was when she was promoting Horrible Bosses.

PS… Do you think Aniston (and Theroux) will make it to the Golden Globes now that Brad and Angelina have gotten their nominations? I say… no. I think she’ll make it to the Oscars, though. Maybe she and Theroux will present together (ha). If she managed to get John Mayer into a tux for Oscar night, OF COURSE she’ll show up to the Kodak with Theroux.

What did Kate Gosselin do to her face: facelift, fillers, and/or nips and tucks?

US Magazine has a photo montage of Kate Gosselin through the years along with some speculation from a plastic surgeon that Kate had a facelift at the ripe old age of 36. Many of you noticed how totally different her face looked in those photos of her “working” at her new job at CouponCabin.com. As an aside, I want to mention that Kate went off to Australia with her paid help boyfriend, the married bodyguard, just a few days after that press release which suggested she got a 9 to 5 job. Can you imagine a mid level employee at a regular office job like that taking off for vacation just a few days after they started? They would get canned pronto. Anyway Kate got a new face to go with that new job she occasionally shows up for.

Has Kate Gosselin gone under the knife — again?

When the former reality star recently reported for her first day as a CouponCabin.com blogger, she revealed a new face to go with her new gig. And it’s not the first time the formerly full-figured brunette has freshened up.

“She’s consumed with her appearance,” a source says of Gosselin, 36, whose TLC reality show Kate Plus 8 was canceled in August.

To keep her youthful appearance, the single mom of eight — who got a tummy tuck in 2007 and breast implants in 2009 — relies on thrice-weekly tanning sessions. Last June, she even gave herself Botox injections! (The result: unnaturally arched eyebrows.)

New York City plastic surgeon Jon Turk tells the new issue of Us Weekly (on sale Monday) that based on recent photos, it looks like Gosselin’s gone more extreme this time: A defined jawline and changed eye shape “suggest a facelift.”

It’s not surprising, the source tells Us: “Kate wants to look 10 years younger.”

[From US Weekly]

I don’t know if this bitch got a whole facelift. I’m thinking she had a “liquid facelift,” or extensive Botox and Restylane. Remember how different Jill Zarin looked after hers? Zarin claimed it was all ‘tox and fillers, although it’s possible she had a ton of work done and lied about it too. Kate could have had a couple of minor procedures to change the shape and look of her face as well, particularly buccal fat pad removal, where the fat is sucked out from the cheeks, and an eye lift. I wouldn’t put it past her to get a total face lift after Kate Plus 8 got canned, though. The sad thing is, she looks a lot better now. I would prefer it if she looked like a plastic freak, to be honest.

Does anyone else think Lauren Conrad looks waxy & Botoxy?

fp_8141137_rij_skyrim_party_02_62

I put the link to some of these photos in yesterday’s afternoon links, but as I look more closely at the photos, I really get more and more disturbed. What the hell did Lauren Conrad do to herself? I used to think LC was pretty, in a non-descript, “the American Kate Middleton” kind of way. Seriously, imagine LC with a dark brunette shade and big, fluffy curls. Duchess Kate, right? They have the same face, although thankfully, LC doesn’t wear raccoon eye makeup. LC does, however, play with Botox. That’s my only explanation for this waxy, puffy look to her once pretty face.

Don’t yell at me, okay? Don’t start in, “You shouldn’t be saying that, you don’t know, maybe she’s just retaining water” or my favorite, “She looks the same.” No. Look at how her face used to look one year ago:

wenn3041495

And here’s her face now:

fp_8141280_rij_skyrim_party_05_62

Puffy. Waxy. Botoxy. Kardashian-like. She’s 25 years old! There’s no reason for this. Stop the madness, LC. I get that she’s went through a major breakup a few months ago (she split with Kyle Howard because it wasn‘t going anywhere), but she’s been out and about, dating up a storm – she had a fling with Derek Hough (meh) and now she’s making out with Chace Crawford. That’s not the best, but she could certainly do worse, and at least she’s out there. Now she just needs to stop with whatever is going on with her face.

Andie MacDowell and the other L’oreal legend ladies look so Botoxy

fp_8115112_cancer_gala_nyc_
I love Andie MacDowell and one of my favorite things about her has been the fact that she looks so naturally beautiful. She’s gorgeous, she seems down-to-earth when I’ve seen her interviewed, and because she seems all natural she’s the perfect spokeswoman for L’oreal. It makes me sad, then, to see her looking all shiny and pulled at the L’oreal Legends Gala last night.

Keep in mind, though, that Andie MacDowell is fifty freaking three years old! I thought she was a hot looking 45, honestly, and I’ve covered her several times here and still had to look up her age. Some of you are going to yell at me and tell me she’s not getting anything done since she has some natural crow’s feet. She looks very waxy and fake to me, and like she’s trying to smile and can only wince. Whatever she’s doing, she hasn’t gone overboard yet and it’s possible the fillers or Botox she’s using will settle. For comparison here are two earlier photos of her. She looks different now, doesn’t she? Also, she’s shown below with her 16 year-old daughter, Sarah Margaret, she’s so pretty!

fp_8115106_cancer_gala_nyc_
Oh and in terms of the fashion – both Andie and her daughter’s dresses are lovely. I really like Andie’s full length sparkling v-neck dress. Her daughter’s light blue chiffon gown has a subtle lace panel on the skirt and bow detail at the bodice. It’s very elegant yet sweet and age-appropriate. Sarah is going to be a stunner.

Speaking of waxy, here’s Julianna Margulies in red. Her dress is ok. I don’t particularly like the way it’s draped but it’s not bad. Those shoes look orthopedic though! From the side they’re prettier with the heel, but from the front they look like sandals you’d wear around the house.

fp_8115163_cancer_gala_nyc_

fp_8115162_cancer_gala_nyc_

Kerry Washington wore a very ugly loose bronze dress that did nothing for her gorgeous figure. The cut is bizarre and it has some sort of scarf thing trailing down the back. I like her stacked necklaces and matching earrings though.

fp_8115169_cancer_gala_nyc_

fp_8115168_cancer_gala_nyc_

This woman Aimee Mullins is a double amputee and an accomplished athlete. But I have to point out that she has Wilma Flintstone hair. That dress looks like it could be a Halloween costume too.

fp_8115161_cancer_gala_nyc_

fp_8115117_cancer_gala_nyc_

Taraji P. Henson was so hot in form fitting blue. The shoes don’t seem to go with that dress, but I’ll overlook it.

fp_8115176_cancer_gala_nyc_

fp_8115175_cancer_gala_nyc_

Kelly Rutherford really bugs me for some reason. I can’t explain it really. This dress squashes her boobs and she needs to fill in those eyebrows. Looks like she filled in her cheeks pretty well.

wenn3589184

fp_8115177_cancer_gala_nyc_

Michael Michele is recognizable to me, but I can’t remember where I’ve seen her. IMDB reminds me that she was on “Homicide” and “ER.” She really owned the red carpet in that teal one shoulder dress. Her feet look like they’re hanging out of her shoes though. She’s another one that looks Botoxy to me. They pretty much all do. Maybe Andie MacDowell really is natural-looking – in comparison.

Julia Roberts in an ill-fitting black ensemble: tragic, budget or boring?

wenn3555909

Here are some photos of Julia Roberts at last night’s premiere of Fireflies in the Garden, that movie where she plays Ryan Reynolds’s mom. They shot the film back in 2007, and it’s like Ryan wants no part of it – he didn’t show up for the junket, and now he didn’t even show up for the premiere. Haha, this film must suck.

Anyway, let’s talk about fashion first – Julia’s outfit is kind of meh, but I think it looks good on her. Lately, she’s been covering up a lot, and sometimes her style seems too matronly for a 40-something. But this is covered up and cute. Oooooh, nevermind. I just saw the sheer blouse and how it seems like Julia isn’t wearing a bra.

wenn3555879

Yikes. No, this outfit is a train wreck. And the blazer is too big. But my least favorite thing is that Julia’s penchant for giant necklaces. It feels like she does a big necklace for every red carpet, and it’s boring. It also draws the eye to her face, which…

wenn3555890

…It’s jacked, right? I’m not have a Claritin D hallucination? There’s Botox and lip injections happening in this mess, correct? I’ve always thought that Julia had her eyes done several years ago, but I’ve never really paid attention to anything else. In these photos, I’m really noticing how her forehead doesn’t move (plus that Botox vein). I’m also noticing how crazy her lips look. CB said that in closeups during Eat, Pray, Love, she thought Julia was getting lip injections too.

wenn3555892

Last year, in an interview with Elle Magazine, Julia denied ever touching her face, though. She pontificated, “It’s unfortunate that we live in such a panicked, dysmorphic society where women don’t even give themselves a chance to see what they’ll look like as older persons. I want my kids to know when I’m pissed, when I’m happy and when I’m confounded. Your face tells a story and it shouldn’t be a story about your drive to the doctor’s office.” O RLY?!?

Cindy Crawford’s current Botox-face: better or worse?

wenn3552242

Several months ago, I talked about some recent (at the time) photos of Cindy Crawford, where her face looked especially jacked. Now, Cindy has admitted to using Botox and collagen injections in the past – she claims she did it to restore elasticity to her face. So, it’s not like the state of Cindy’s Botox-face is up for debate at this point. She has a Botox-face, this is a fact. So now the question becomes: does Cindy need to be doing this much to her face? Would she look better if she wasn’t so heavily “injected”? Back in May, I was horrified by the state of her, but then she showed up at the Cannes Film Festival (to support her friend and stalker George Clooney), and her face looked slightly better.

wenn3552241

So these are new photos of Cindy in Russia today. In the closeups, you can definitely see where Cindy’s cheeks have been “filled”. But does she look better? I do think her face looks less jacked than earlier this year. I will say this, though – I think Cindy has done so much, one of her eyes has gone wonky, which happens to many celebrity women. I don’t know the medical reason for it.

By the way, the frequent complaint I hear when I call someone a Botox-face or a cat-face is that they have wrinkles, thus they’re somehow not using injections or Botox. Cindy has wrinkles. Madonna has wrinkles. Teri Hatcher has wrinkles. It’s not about “wrinkles” and whether or not Botox or collagen makes the wrinkles disappear completely. Botox freezes, collagen “fills” and both leave behind the unintended tell-tale signs of the work done.

Courtney Thorne Smith is the new frozen face of Botox: convincing?

courtneysmith
43 year-old former “Melrose Place” actress Courtney Thorne Smith just landed a job promoting Botox. She claimed in a new interview with People that she doesn’t want to look frozen or not like herself, but she just looks crazed in the photo they’re using with the article. I guess she usually looks like that, so mission accomplished.

“It’s never been a secret in my personal life – I’ve just never been asked by the press,” says Thorne-Smith, 44, the new celebrity face of Botox. “I’ve used it, I like it, it works well for me. That’s just the simple truth.”

The actress and mother of a 3½-year-old son owns up to first getting injections about 10 years ago, when the lines on her forehead started to bother her.

“I found I’ve been able to use it and have full expression and look really normal,” she says. “I found the frown line was distracting me – I was conscious of it. Now I’m not.”

Would the Two and a Half Men guest star consider getting plastic surgery?

“My hope is that if I take good care of my skin and use Botox, I won’t have to use anything else,” says Thorne-Smith, who then adds: “Never say never. I always want to look like myself – that’s key for me. I don’t want to look like a different person, I don’t want my face frozen.”

[From People]

I am 38 years old, and I don’t know when the hell that happened. If I knew for a fact that I could get Botox or Restylne tomorrow and look fresh and natural with imperceptible changes I would do it today. If I knew that I could get a face lift or major surgery and end up looking like Sandra Bullock where people would look at me and think “she looks amazing, did she do something because I can’t see it?” I would also do it today. As it is, we notice the bad work, the bulging forehead veins from Botox, the chipmunk cheeks and the plumped up, painful looking lips from fillers. It’s just too much of a risk. Plus I actually like being able to frown. The examples on the Botox website show women who aren’t able to frown afterwards and look kind of evil in the after shots.

I prefer to stay out of the sun for now and practice good skincare. (I got one of those Neutrogena microdermabrasion system for $18 at CVS and that does seem to make a difference in my skin, although I have to use antibiotic ointment on my upper lip and chin area or I will get small blemishes from it.) At some point I may get some injectables. Courtney Thorne Smith isn’t going to convince me though. She looks more like the face of hyperthyroidism with those wide unseeing eyes. She’s like 10 seconds away from lunging at you while cackling loudly. I should be nicer to her. She quit Ally McBeal in 2000 due to her struggles with an eating disorder. She was one of many women who had that problem on that show.

In 2003. See, she looks the same!
fp_116364_abcanniversary_61

In 2009. You can see the difference in the lines on her face from the photo at the very top of the page. I don’t know if it’s better, though.
