Raising Sextuplets parents separate after father’s arrest

wenn28881821
The stars of WE reality series Raising Sextuplets, Brian and Jennifer Masche, would occasionally compare themselves to Jon and Kate Gosselin on their show. They’re now much more like Jon and Kate, because they’re breaking up too. Dad Bryan can be verbally abusive to his wife and was often shown chewing her out on their show. Masche made headlines earlier this month when he was arrested for threatening his father in law while visiting family in Arizona. Masche was described in the police report as belligerent and to have resisted arrest. Now Jennifer has had enough of his cruel treatment and has filed for a legal separation.

Jennifer filed a petition for separation from her husband at Yavapi County Superior Court on September 17, 2010. The breakdown of their marriage comes after he was arrested in Arizona on September 1 following a family bust-up during which he allegedly shouted profanities at his wife and threatened to “flatten” his father-in-law.

Masche exclusively told RadarOnline.com that he was “not a criminal” but his wife has decided to call it quits on their relationship. He had been charged with two counts of disorderly conduct for domestic violence, one count resisting arrest and one count threatening domestic violence.

The couple were being touted as more positive reality role models than Jon and Kate Gosselin prior to his run-in with the law. Before his arrest, We TV admitted that the couple was seeing a relationship counselor. Masche allegedly refused to comply with deputies’ commands and that’s when he was arrested. Their children were not in the house at the time.

He was taken to the Yavapai County Detention Center where he was booked and released on a $3,500 bond.

Jennifer is a physician’s assistant at a hospital in their new hometown of Destin, Florida. Their sextuplets, three girls and three boys, were born in Phoenix, Arizona, on June 11, 2007. The couple got married in January 2, 2004, after Bryan asked Jennifer to marry him on National television at an Arizona Diamondbacks baseball game in 2003.

Now it looks like just like she will have to follow in Kate Gosselin’s footsteps by raising her children by herself.

[From Radar Online]

Good for Jennifer. She’s probably better off raising those kids alone than with a guy who treats her like that. I wonder if we’re looking at another movie-star-in-training type like “Kate” though. Given the size of her inflated lips, the answer might be “yes.”

Radar has more on the separation filing, and Jennifer is asking for child support and sole physical and legal custody of their six children, with visitation for Bryan. She doesn’t want spousal support, nor does she want to have to pay spousal support to her estranged husband. It’s clear that Jennifer, a physician’s assistant, is the one who brings in more money. Brian was training for some kind of new career and clearly didn’t have the ability to earn a living yet. They really do seem like Jon and Kate.

Here are some clips from Raising Sextuplets. You can see the writing on the wall.

Raising Sextuplets dad resisted arrest, fought in front of kids and was nearly tasered

bryanmasche
Yesterday we reported on the news that Bryan Masche, the immature dad who stars in the WE reality show Raising Sextuplets, was arrested for a domestic incident while visiting family in Arizona earlier this month. I was surprised by how many people had seen the show, and many of you co-signed my opinion (solely based on the clips that I’ve seen) that this guy is a mean assh*le. Now several outlets have the police report details, and contrary to earlier stories the cops noted that this guy’s six three year-old kids, three boys and three girls, were there and witnessed their dad flipping out, swearing and threatening their granddad. Here’s E! Online’s story, which notes that when police tried to cuff Masche he folded his arms and pouted like a toddler, resisting arrest until he was threatened with a taser:

Police are raising some big questions about the Raising Sextuplets’ dad’s behavior.

Bryan Masche, the reality-TV patriarch who was arrested Sept. 11 on suspicion of domestic violence while visiting family in Camp Verde, Ariz., threatened to “flatten” his father-in-law and screamed profanities while in the presence of his 3-year-old kids, according to the police report.

And, per the cops, Masche continued to refuse to play nice until he was confronted with the threat of a Taser zap.

Masche at first refused to let the arresting officers cuff him, yelling “I didn’t do anything!” and firmly folding his arms in front of him to prevent them from getting at his wrists, the report states.

Finally, one officer told another to deploy his Taser, after which Masche wised up. Sort of.

“Bryan complied prior to the Taser being deployed,” the report continues. “Bryan was then assisted back to his feet and escorted to my vehicle where he was secured. While in my patrol vehicle, Bryan continued to be belligerent.”

Wife Jenny Masche told the police that the belligerence started when she informed her husband that she was going to visit friends in Phoenix, while he wanted to take their children—Savannah, Bailey, Grant, Cole, Molli and Blake—to Lake Havasu City, where they lived before moving to Destin, Fla.

Bryan started yelling and using profanity in front of the kids, Jenny said, and also threatened Jenny’s father when he tried to intervene.

The incident remained verbal and never got physical, the report says, but firearms were present in a nearby vehicle and Masche was becoming “more aggressive” as the fight dragged on.

Bryan, 32, has pleaded not guilty to three counts of domestic violence involving disorderly conduct and threats, as well as one count of resisting arrest. He’s currently free on $3,500 bail and is due in court Oct. 7.

Raising Sextuplets reared its head on WE tv in 2008 as a one-hour special, OMG! Sextuplets!, before becoming a full-fledge series last year. Its second season premiered in June.

But as was the case with another cable reality show with many kids, there’s been plenty of trouble in paradise for the Masches.

“We have totally brutal fights,” Jenny told People in 2009. Added Bryan: “When you understand that there’s no way out of marriage that forces you to work on your marriage. If we’re going to be stuck with each other for the next 80 years, we better make it good.”

[From E! Online]

People Magazine has more on how the fight started. They note that the police report states that Bryan wanted to take all their kids to a lake 200 miles away while Jenny wanted to take the family to visit friends in Phoenix. The report claims that “Jenny did not know if Bryan planned to return with the children.” As for those “firearms in a nearby vehicle,” I hope they were just for hunting and that no one threatened anyone with them. The way it’s stated like that sounds pretty ominous, but that’s the only reference to the guns and there’s no allegation of a shooting threat.

So what’s next for this manchild, his clueless wife and their poor six kids? Is WE going to continue to reward them for their irresponsible behavior? I wouldn’t be surprised if they do, considering that this is the most publicity any of their shows has received in ages.

Sextuplets reality show dad arrested for domestic incident

wenn2888182
When I heard that a sextuplets reality show dad was arrested for domestic violence I thought it was that new self righteous douche from TLC who has been blogging about his haters. That guy only has quintuplets, though, so he must be feeling the pressure to add up in the competitive multiples reality show market. The multiples dad that was arrested is someone I’ve yet to hear of named Bryan Masche, who stars on Raising Sextuplets on WE. Apparently he got in an argument while visiting relatives and someone called the cops.

Bryan Masche, the father on the WE reality show Raising Sextuplets, was arrested while visiting relatives in Arizona and charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and threatening domestic violence.

Masche, 32, was taken into custody at the Yavapi County Detention Center and released on $3,500 bond, a spokesman for Arizona’s Camp Verde Marshal’s Office tells PEOPLE.

The spokesman would not elaborate but confirmed published reports that Masche lost his temper, causing someone present to call 911. It is not known whether Masche’s wife and TV costar, Jenny, was involved in the incident.

Masche is the father of Arizona’s second-only set of sextuplets, born three years ago. The family currently lives in Florida.

According to the Camp Verde Bugle newspaper, Masche was arrested after allegedly threatening his family and beginning to yell and use profanities. When deputies arrived at the scene, Masche reportedly did not comply with authorities.

Had ‘Total Brutal Fights’

In an 2009 interview with PEOPLE, Bryan and Jenny admitted that raising six young children was not easy and that the couple argued. “We have totally brutal fights,” Jenny told PEOPLE.

Relying upon their faith, the religious couple sought to work through their marital problems. “When you understand that there’s no way out of marriage, that forces you to work on your marriage,” Bryan told PEOPLE.

“We both have an understanding in our minds that there is no out,” he added. “I know personally that I’m accountable to God, and Jenny knows she’s accountable to God, and we don’t have any way out of this thing. So if we’re going to be stuck with each other for the next 80 years, we better make it good.”

Their marriage, said Jenny, “is a work in progress, and it’s totally not perfect. But we believe that the stronger the couple is, the stronger the marriage is and the better it is for the children.”

[From People.com]

Radar online has more details about how the guy resisted arrest. It sounds like a verbal altercation and not a physical one. Still, that’s not healthy for anybody and it’s a good thing their kids weren’t there at the time. They’ll surely witness plenty of other fights, though. What kind of ass describes his marriage by saying “we don’t have any way out of this thing” and “we’re going to be stuck with each other for the next 80 years“?

I haven’t seen this full show, but I saw some preview clips on YouTube, below, and to put it bluntly – the dad does not strike me as straight. Of course it’s hard to tell, but watch the clips below and tell me if I’m wrong. He also seems very combative with his wife and acts sarcastic and nasty. At one point he says to her “it’s time to stop dorking around and put on your big girl panties and get serious.” It’s doubtful that any amount of counseling is going to change that guy. These are the people that are being rewarded with reality shows. All it takes is some IVF and an unnatural number of kids at once and you too can be a star.

We.TV has clips of this show, but I couldn’t get them to run for me.
