Is Cameron Diaz quietly dating Tesla & Paypal billionaire Elon Musk?

Is Cameron Diaz hittin’ it with a billionaire? Well… at least it’s not P. Diddy. According to Page Six, Camy has been getting frisky with Paypal co-founder and Tesla CEO Elon Musk (can you believe someone actually has the name “Elon Musk”?). You can read’s Musk’s Wiki here – he seems like an honest-to-God genius and business wunderkind. He’s also only one year older than Camy, which makes this relationship incredibly age-appropriate. Yay?

Cameron Diaz has been spending time with billionaire Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk, sources exclusively tell Page Six.

Diaz, 40, and Musk, 41, got to know each other after she bought one of the electric sports cars earlier this year, we hear.

But sources tell us Musk — said to be the inspiration for “Iron Man” genius billionaire Tony Stark played by Robert Downey Jr. — has gotten close to Diaz and has been increasingly traveling to Los Angeles from Tesla headquarters in Palo Alto. He’s been going to LA so regularly, Musk often arrives without giving his colleagues a heads-up he’s in town. The reason, we’re told, is because he’s “visiting Cameron.”

Sources said Diaz, who is filming the romantic comedy “The Other Woman” alongside Leslie Mann and Kate Upton, is a big fan of Musk, a South African-born entrepreneur who launched software companies Zip2 and PayPal and space exploration firm Space X before launching Tesla Motors.

Diaz bought a Tesla Model S EV earlier this year, an energy-friendly electric sedan with no emissions and a top speed of about 130 mph.

Musk, worth $4.5 billion, has been married and divorced twice, most recently to British actress Talulah Riley, 27, with whom he split in 2012 and later reconciled. The couple in mid-May attended the Maxim Hot 100 party together in LA, where Riley is living.

Diaz, meanwhile, split with New York Yankee third baseman Alex Rodriguez two years ago, and appears to have been unattached since.

While reps for neither Diaz nor Musk got back to us, perhaps the single Diaz is looking to settle down. On Monday, passengers on a Delta flight from Nice, France, overheard the actress going “gaga” over Uma Thurman and Arpad Busson’s daughter Luna, whom Busson held close to his chest in a Baby Bjorn.

After Thurman showed off Luna to Diaz and fellow passenger Nicole Kidman, Diaz “gushed how she’s wanted to have a baby,” an onlooker told us.

[From Page Six]

That bit about Elon and his ex-wife is really the only shady part, I think. Elon was married to actress Talulah Riley for two years, they divorced last summer and then reconciled last December. I’m including a photo of Elon and Talulah together last year (below). Elon Musk is worth a reported $1.5 billion (give or take), but his settlement to Talulah was a mere £2.5 million! That’s interesting. So is Camy getting on some other lady’s man? Or have Elon and Talulah called it quits again, or is Elon just dating both of them at the same time? Huh.

Cameron Diaz promotes Tag Heuer in Monaco: bad lighting or bad blonde?

Here are some photos of Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz at the Tag Heuer Yacht Party in Monaco this weekend. There were a lot of events in Monaco ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday, so I’m assuming that Tag Heuer just organized two of their brand ambassadors to come to Monaco for a special appearance. This might have even been the “work commitment” or whatever that kept Leonardo away from the Sydney premiere of The Great Gatsby. This along with “trying to bone every model he could get his hands on.”

As for Cameron… sigh. Despite all of her drama and her horrible taste in men, I actually like Camy, still to this day. I want good things for her. I want to believe her when she talks a good game about being at peace with herself and loving who she is and how she’s aged. But I don’t believe her, because of photos like this. These photos remind me of that time she came to an awards show in 2011 and everyone was like “OMG, what happened to her face?” At this point, I’ve accepted that Cameron has had work done, although I’m not sure that’s the particular problem with these photos. Whatever she’s had done, it’s “settled”. I think the problem here is sun damage and a really terrible blonde shade. Maybe bad lighting too? But… I do like her dress! Is it Roland Mouret?

Also, just to be fair – Leo looks like hell too. He looks like he’s been partying HARD for two weeks and he’s barely gotten any sleep.

Cameron Diaz in blue Stella McCartney at the Met Gala: spiked Monk Smurf?

I was wondering if anyone besides Kristen Stewart would wear Stella McCartney, and here we go. I should have figured that Cameron Diaz would go with Stella – that whole group of girls (Camy, Goop, Kate Hudson) are all tight with Stella. So what did Stella make Cameron wear? A giant, figure-covering blue… thing. I don’t even want to call this a dress. It’s awful. Like the pope’s vestments with a built-in cape…? She looks like Monk Smurf. And that spiked belt? That’s Cameron’s version of a chastity belt. You can’t hug her. At all. I wonder if she poked anyone last night? I wonder if she drew blood?

Diane Kruger wore Chanel. Not punk. But not bad. I mean, she’s beautiful and she makes everything look good. She and Joshua seemed subdued on the carpet though, and there are hardly any photos of them.

Kate Bosworth in Balmain. This makes me sad. It’s like she didn’t even try. Again, this would have been cute at a movie premiere, but it’s not “big” enough for the Met Gala.

Marion Cotillard wore Dior (like Jennifer Lawrence). Marion looks really pissed off about it too. She should be – this dress is so boring and it’s just… blah. Nothing.

Did Michael Fassbender & Cameron Diaz hook up in London last week?

If there’s one thing I know about Michael Fassbender, it’s that 6-foot-tall blondes will do anything to throw themselves into the path of L’Fassdong. It happened with Charlize Theron, and maybe it happened with Jennifer Lawrence too (although I doubt it). And now it apparently happened with Cameron Diaz, at least according to Us Weekly’s sources. Cameron and Fassbender worked together on Ridley Scott’s The Counselor, which also stars Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem and Brad Pitt. Cameron and Fassy were in London last week doing some reshoots (the production took a hiatus when Ridley’s brother passed away), and Us Weekly’s sources claim Fassy & Camy were looking very flirty and friendly.

Kissing costars? Multiple witnesses tell Us Weekly’s Hot Stuff that Cameron Diaz, 40, and her Counselor leading man, Michael Fassbender, dined together on February 7 at London’s Soho Hotel – and then made their way upstairs to a suite!

“They acted very flirty throughout dinner,” says a witness of the two, who were in the UK for reshoots on their crime drama. Later, at 12:30 am, another guest saw the pair step into a hotel room: “It looked like they were going to hook up!”

[From Us Weekly, print edition]

CB sent me this story expecting me to be all “OMG HOT DEATH!!” But I feel kind of meh about it. Like, the Charlize thing really bothered me because she was being really, really obvious about it and I felt like Fassbender was trying to be like, “You’re my friend but I’m not into you, sweetheart.” But this? This just feels like a casual hookup thing, and let’s be real: don’t you think Cameron Diaz does this a lot? No slut-shaming!! I just think Cameron offers her biscuit to anyone who will take it. And as long as she was offering, Michael took her up on the offer.

Has Gwyneth Paltrow deigned to life-coach douche-magnet Cameron Diaz?

A few years ago, I remember Jezebel had a piece comparing the way the American tabloids covered Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz. The point of the piece seemed to be to question the tabloid-assigned roles given to celebrities – like, Jennifer Aniston is always going to “poor Jennifer, the girl who gets dumped, needy and desperate and neurotic” while Cameron was always portrayed as the fun, vivacious party girl who sometimes drank too much and partied too hard, but she was always having a good time. I think it would be interesting to see how their tabloid identities have changed since then, because I tend to think Cameron has become “poor Cameron, always dating douches and drinking too much and she’s messing with her face too.” What happened to the fun party girl?

So, while I don’t think Cameron is a total lost cause – she’s not – there is still work to be done! If I was life-coaching Camy, I would tell her to stop messing with her face, get her wonky bolt-ons fixed (or maybe replaced with smaller implants), and most importantly, I would tell her to stop trying to get her rocks off with d-bags. But Camy hasn’t hired me to be her life-coach. Nope. She chose Gwyneth Paltrow. Of course!

CAMERON DIAZ has a new life coach – GWYNETH PALTROW.

Cameron’s been having a bit of a mid-life crisis since she turned 40, including all-night benders and a fling with P.DIDDY.

A source said: “Gwyneth’s sorted out everything from finances to hooking her up with her trainer. She has also forced her to swear off sex for a year, saying men distract her focus.”

[From The Sun]

Yeah, it’s The Sun and it’s probably/definitely BS, but Goop and Diaz are tight, and Gwyneth is just the kind of woman who life-coaches other people naturally. Condescension and judgment flow from Gwyneth like a river of diamond-encrusted water. Even if Goop isn’t technically Cameron’s life coach, you know Goop is still trying to “fix” Camy and make Camy more acceptable. It’s a Sisyphean task.

Also: there’s a minor story in this week’s Star Mag which I was going to lead with, but Goop’s rep just denied it flat-out. The rumor was that Gwyneth is “so sick of blockbusters and wants to focus more on TV” so she asked her dear friend Julian Fellowes to hook her up with a guest spot on the next season of Downton Abbey. Because OF COURSE! Thankfully, Goop’s rep told Rumor Fix the story is “false… She is not trying to get on Downton Abbey.” Thank God! Downton has enough problems without Dame Goop trying to out-snooty The Dowager Countess.

Leonardo DiCaprio & Cameron Diaz: old friends or friends with benefits?

Leonardo DiCaprio has been single for more than a month. Or so. I don’t really think Leo is all that different when he has an “official” girlfriend and when he doesn’t, so no 20-something model is ever going to be safe when Leo is around. Since breaking up with Erin Heatherton, there’s only been one girl loosely associated with Leo – his Wolf of Wall Street costar Margot Robbie. She’s blonde, she’s “22” (cough) and she’s very pretty, with that sort of haughty look that some men love. The complaint against Robbie is that she’s an actress… and Leo doesn’t DO actresses, generally speaking. But what if he’s in the mood to go completely against type? What if he’s in the mood for a quick hookup with some blonde, with a great body, an actress… who is 40 years old? SHOCK! Page Six claims that there might be something brewing with Leo and his friend Cameron Diaz:

The party continues for single Leonardo DiCaprio. The “Django Unchained” star and Cameron Diaz hooked up, as pals, at the opening of hot new club Rosewood on Friday.

“Miranda Kerr and a group of girlfriends were the first to show,” said a spy at the cocktail lounge, adding that models Jessica Gomes and Jessica Hart were close behind. Later, “the crowds parted when Leo entered” and he sat with Kerr and company.

“He was texting until Cameron arrived,” a source said, “and it was obvious they are great friends . . . he was very excited when she came to meet him, and he got up from his table to guide her to where he was sitting.”

The models then did what models do: danced on banquettes, in this case to the tunes of DJ Regg Ruck, and drank Champagne and Belvedere. At 3 a.m., DiCaprio made sure to “tip the waitresses and say thank you” before he and his posse headed out. Leo was spotted the next day at a raucous Day & Night brunch (where one loaded reveler stuffed $2,000 in singles into a fog machine).

Diaz was seen dining at The Lion with a pal.

[From Page Six]

Yeah, it doesn’t say they hooked up, only that Leo looked very happy when he saw her and that he seemed attentive to her. Considering Camy’s dating history and Leo’s dating history, I think Cameron is probably into it and Leo is probably just hoping for a quick hookup. He wants to maintain their friendship, but he likes her and he likes her vibe. They’ve been friends for more than a decade, after all. He’s never going to get serious about Cameron or anything, but he’s probably up for a friends-with-benefits thing. And Cameron… well, I think the girl is a mess, but whatever.

Cameron Diaz: ‘I think every woman does want to be objectified, I think it’s healthy’

Remember Cameron Diaz’s disastrous Esquire UK pictorial for the November issue? Cameron was photographed in various trashy ensembles, from leather-y dominatrix to “squatting biker girl” to “a girl with a shredded t-shirt and bolt-ons.” Obviously, the photo shoot was done by Terry Richardson, and a lot of you had a lot to say about how awful it was that Cameron felt the need to say “yes” to that mess. But are we making Cameron into a victim unnecessarily? Perhaps. Because as Camy discusses in a new interview, she’s quite happy to be objectified in trashy, “sexy” pictorials because she “knows her sexuality”. Just know: I actually have very mixed feelings about everything Cameron is saying here.

Cameron Diaz has said she gets a buzz stripping down to her underwear for the camera. The 40-year-old actress says she finds racy photo shoots “empowering” and is comfortable in her skin.

She told The Sunday Times: “It’s empowering. I’m not some young girl with the photographer going, ‘Will you take your clothes off?’ I’m like [mimes stripping], ‘How does this look?’ They’re like, ‘Today we’re not going to put anything other than bras and heels on you,’ and I’m like, ‘These heels are not high enough.’”

“I’m a woman, I know how to handle myself. I know what I feel comfortable doing and I know my sexuality.”

The star also thinks its “healthy” for women to want to be objectified.

She added: “I think every woman does want to be objectified. There’s a little part of you at all times that hopes to be somewhat objectified, and I think it’s healthy.”

Cameron also laments the scrutiny put on the young stars of today, as it’s harder for them to grow up and make the mistakes young people do without being criticised.

Reflecting on her own career, she added: “I wouldn’t have survived it. Nobody in their twenties can. That’s when you do all your stupid s**t. You’re supposed to be an idiot. You’re supposed to get drunk, or go out with a guy who’s terrible for you.”

[From The Standard UK]

Is Cameron revealing a more sophisticated and nuanced feminist theory than we’ve ever heard? Not really. Psychologically, I think she’s just justifying her own famewhore-y actions and wrapping it up in lipstick feminism. But I don’t think she should be dismissed out of hand either – I was just reading The Hollywood Reporter’s Actress Roundtable, which included discussions from women like Anne Hathaway, Rachel Weisz, Sally Field, etc. What struck me was how neurotic ALL of them are and how their individual neuroses feed each other until they have, like, group neurosis. In that context, Cameron’s breezy ownership of her own sexuality and her own sexual power, plus her lack of “I should be humble, I should feel unworthy, I should feel damaged” neurosis is refreshing. What I’m saying is that although I don’t agree with Camy, I don’t think she should be bashed or slut-shamed for feeling the way she feels. Of course, I do think she should be bashed for having such lousy taste in men.

Cameron Diaz in a little black Lanvin in NYC, for charity: lovely or unflattering?

Here are some photos of Cameron Diaz on Saturday night at the launch of her signed, limited edition TAG Heuer watch. I guess she’s wearing the watch? It looks glitzy. The launch event was held at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City and I’m assuming this was some kind of lucrative endorsement deal for Camy, right? She doesn’t just show up to shill anything – they must have paid her. Oh… I just saw this: the event was a fundraiser for “UN Women and New York Cares’ Hurricane Sandy Relief Effort”. So, Cameron wasn’t paid to make an appearance, she was the big guest at a fundraiser. That’s nice.

As for what Camy wore – it’s Lanvin. It seems like Lanvin’s take on a structured LBD, but it seems… off. It’s not the way Cameron is wearing it either, it’s a flawed design. Like, I think the structure of the top part is nice – it’s just a tad too tight on Cameron, but it’s okay. But then the skirt part is just kind of meh, and the wrinkles look kind of sloppy. Why not do structure and figure-hugging throughout the dress, you know? It would have been a much cleaner look.

A few more pieces of Camy news. Remember those reports that Cameron and Tom Cruise were giving each other a romantic side-eye? Well, obviously those reports were BS, but it’s still funny that Cameron had to contradict them directly. While making a recent TV appearance, Camy was asked Tom and she said, “I happened to bump into Penelope Cruz, Javier, Tom and his son in a hotel and joined them for dinner. At midnight I said, `I`m 40`. So we took pictures and then said `Goodnight, see you later, blah, blah, blah` and I haven`t seen him since. But the next thing I know, apparently I am dating him and it`s full on and he is coming after me.” Yeah. For the record, I believe her. For what it’s worth.

Also: Cameron is the cover girl for the December issue of Elle UK – I covered most of the quotes from her interview here. I just saw another one I wanted to discuss though. Camy was talking about food and diet and stuff, and she discusses how she sometimes packs her lunch when she’s on the go:

“If I’m out for the day, running around taking care of errands, especially in Los Angeles, most of the time I show up with my own food. It’s my body – I don’t have to have somebody else make my choices for me. So I take it with me and I set up my life so I can do that. I’ve built it into my schedule so that I have food that I can just grab out of my refrigerator and pop into my cold pack and take it with me for the day. I’m a woman, I carry a purse so another bag isn’t really a big deal.”

She told Britain’s ELLE magazine: ”[Good nutrition] about controlling something so you can have more. ‘With good nutrition you actually get to eat more food because when you’re eating empty calories, a massive plate of food that does nothing for you, all it does is feed sickness, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, lethargy, issues with your digestive system…”

[Via Divine]

I don’t remember Cameron ever being photographed with a cold pack lunch. I mean… I don’t doubt that she brings food with her, or that she believes in good nutrition and all of that. But I think she’s trying to retroactively make herself sound a lot healthier than she’s been historically, you know? This is the woman who has publicly declared her love of all kinds of food and beer, hard liquor, etc. There’s nothing wrong with that, I just have a problem when she’s now trying to get all Goop-y on us and act like she’s always been so super-healthy.

Cameron Diaz: “Pork scratchings are my favorite snack in the whole world!”

I already previewed Cameron Diaz’s Elle UK cover(s) and interview earlier this week, but more photos and interview excerpts were just released, so enjoy. Previously, Camy had my blood boiling when she name-dropped Michael Fassbender (they worked together on Ridley Scott’s The Counselor), saying that “He does have a lot of confidence…” I guess we’re supposed to take that as “Cameron is super-confident and she loves confident men, so she’s on Fassy’s jock.” Please… NO. In these interview highlights, Cameron does mention Fassy again (thank God), but she does talk about sex and babies and that book she’s writing about fitness and nutrition.

Camy when asked what burns more calories, 30 minutes of dancing or 30 minutes of sex: “Depends on what kind of sex you’re having. Try ‘em both! Do them both on the same day, that’s what I say!”

What she would do if she wasn’t an actress: “I have no idea…That’s why I’m so grateful for it. It’s the only thing that I know how to do. I do think about it all the time – what would have happened had I not just found my way out from that? But I think you always find your way out.”

Her favorite snack? Pork scratchings (British snack food – bite-sized pieces of a pig’s skin that are salted, deep-fried, and served cold, often at British pubs) “Oh, that’s my favorite snack in the whole world! Even with the bristles I don’t care, I’ll do it! It’s my favorite thing.”

Her book about fitness and nutrition. “It’s not about what I eat or do what I do. It’s really about the information, so that young girls and women can look at it and make their own choices,” she says. “I’d hate to give them guidelines of what I do… I’m excited about my discipline [which revolves around] a protein, a grain, and a green… I want to be disciplined. It’s not a limitation to me; it opens up my life to so many opportunities.”

Will she ever have kids? “I don’t need to have the children in my life be a part of my literal flesh. And anyway, there’s still a possibility of that, I ain’t that old. I’m feeling very… capable.”

[From Us Weekly & the NYDN]

Us Weekly says “pork scratchings” are like the American “pork rinds”. I just realized that although I’ve grown up in a pork-rindy Southern culture, I’ve managed to go my whole life without ever eating a pork rind. Even though pork scratchings sound totally gross, I have to admit… I would probably like them. I like salty, fried things. And they probably go well with beer or liquor. I always crave salty, fried, porky things when I’m drinking. Which goes a long way to explaining why I rarely drink these days!

Cameron Diaz in Stella McCartney at UK ‘Gambit’ premiere: pretty or rough?

These are photos from last night’s London premiere of Gambit, the remake of a somewhat popular 1960s film, this one starring Cameron Diaz, Colin Firth and Alan Rickman, and written by the Coen Brothers. Cameron wore Stella McCartney for the premiere – she always wears a lot of Stella when she’s in England. While this isn’t the worst Stella design I’ve ever seen, it’s also not very good on Cameron. The top part looks much too tight on Cameron’s bolt-ons (and yes, she does have bolt-ons) and the pleating looks amateurish. The colors are just kind of blah on her too – but I’m not a big fan of lighter colors on the bottom. Should we talk about her face? She looks tweaked to me, but it’s weird… it seems like every time she walks a carpet these days, her face looks dramatically different. I think she goes through phases where she swears off Botox and fillers for a few months, and then she returns to them with a vengeance. It’s weird.

I’m also including an ashamed-looking Colin Firth, who looks like he’s about to apologize to all of us for some reason. Maybe he knows it’s a bad film? Because it seems like it’s a bad movie. Also included: Alan Rickman making a “Girl, WHAT are you wearing?” face. Sigh… I wish Alan Rickman would come to my house and tell me what to wear. I imagine he would be an amazing stylist.

Here’s the trailer for Gambit. It looks… I mean, Alan Rickman looks like he had a good time making it, so there’s something. Poor Colin. And Cameron seems… ugh.
