Kevin Federline’s bad acting on One Tree Hill

Kevin Federline had an acting stint on CW’s teen drama “One Tree Hill” last night in a bit part as a douche musician. I’ve never watched this show, but according to Wikipedia, one of the characters started a record company which signed Federline’s character’s band.

While producers praised Federline’s professionalism on set, it’s pretty clear that he can act about as well as he can rap.

An earlier clip had Federline performing on stage, and if that’s his real voice he’s not half bad.

Update Federline had a bit part on CSI in October, 2006 in which he played the leader of a gang who targeted tourists. He also got punched out on that show.

Diners yell at Keanu Reeves for taking shoes off in restaurant

Photo is from December, 2007 and was not taken during the incident in question
Keanu Reeves pulled a Clay Aiken while dining alone in an expensive Vancouver restaurant. The millionaire actor took off his shoes and socks at the table to the horror of his fellow diners. A nearby couple scolded Reeves for ruining their romantic dinner with his rank feet, but unlike Aiken, Reeves was apologetic and left shortly afterwards:

Dining solo at a ritzy Vancouver restaurant, sleepy-eyed Keanu Reeves – slurping down oysters on the half shell with red wine – looked more homeless than hunky when he suddenly kicked off his scuffed shoes, pulled off his holey socks – then stretched and flexed his hairy toes as horrified diners gagged! After a few phee-eww moments, a man sitting nearby jumped up and said: “I don’t care who you are – this is totally unacceptable behavior. I’ve paid a lot of money to eat here, and my wife and I don’t want to look at your bare feet!” Keanu apologized, saying he had cramps in his toes and needed to stretch them. “If you don’t put your shoes back on, I’ll call the manager,” snapped the guy. Keanu nodded, slipping on his stuff as he motioned for the check.

[From The National Enquirer, print edition, Mike Walker's column, February 18, 2008]

At least Reeves did the right thing and didn’t make a fuss and apologized, but how did he think it was ok to take off his shoes and socks at dinner in the first place? I hate when people even do that on a plane, I think it’s gross. At least put another pair of socks on over your stinky feet and keep them placed firmly on the ground underneath you.

Reeves will next work on The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, a film by writer-director Rebecca Miller. Miller is the daughter of playwright Arthur Miller and wife of Daniel Day-Lewis. The film also features Robin Wright Penn, Alan Arkin, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Julianne Moore, Winona Ryder and Monica Bellucci. Robin Wright Penn stars as a housewife who has a nervous breakdown and an affair with younger Reeves after she discovers her husband, played by Alan Arkin, was unfaithful. Cinemablend says the plot sounds complicated given all the talent that’s involved. According to IMDB, the film will start shooting in April of this year in Connecticut.

Reeves stars as a police officer dealing with corruption on the force in Street Kings, a crime drama with Hugh Laurie that is out on April 11. It will be his first feature film since The Lake House with Sandra Bullock, which came out in June, 2006. He is currently filming The Day The Earth Stood Still, a remake of the classic 1951 film about alien visitation, which is due out in December of this year.

Keanu Reeves is shown hanging out with a young woman on December 27, 2007 in West Hollywood. It is thought that he was giving her career advice as she was taking notes and they were overheard talking about the movie business. Thanks to Splash News for these photos.

Is Britney going on tour to get away from Sam?

Ever since Britney was photographed rehearsing at the Millennium dance studio over the weekend, speculation is running wild that the mentally ill singer is planning on going back to work. Page Six says they have an inside source who revealed that Jamie and Lynne Spears are encouraging their daughter to get back into dancing and performing as a way to keep her distracted from contacting Sam Lutfi.

It looks like Britney Spears’ family will do anything to get her away from her “friends” Sam Lutfi and Adnan Ghalib – including putting the pill-popping poptard on tour. The buzz at the Grammys was that Spears’ newfound focus on her dancing is preparation for a world tour. Britney “will be leaving the country in the next few weeks,” a source confided to Page Six. “She’ll train in privacy for a month, then go on a global tour.”

[From Page Six]

While it is probably a good idea to keep Britney busy, there is no way the fragile pop star is ready for the grueling pace of a world tour. Anyone who doubts this needs to revisit her performance at the MTV VMAs. Besides, her backbreaking schedule was probably a major factor in her ongoing illness in the first place– many of her close friends say that she first started showing signs of erratic behavior during her Onyx Hotel Tour, during which she injured her knee and then met, sent for, and married Kevin Federline. Do her parents really need to send her on a repeat of that whole mess?

Most likely, Page Six is incorrect. I’d guess that Britney is getting ready to make another crappy music video. But as long as it keeps her from car-hopping with Adnan or getting back in with Sam Lutfi, it can’t be all bad.

Picture note by Celebitchy: Britney Spears is shown out yesterday after shopping at Miss Sixty in West Hollywood, California. Thanks to Splash News.

Paris Hilton bombs at the box office

The American public often behaves in a way that makes me think there is hope for the future. This time, I’m encouraged by the fact that Paris Hilton’s new movie, “The Hottie and the Nottie,” was an abysmal failure this weekend– both with the critics and at the box office. I was actually a little scared that people might go see it out of boredom or curiosity. But I was very happy to hear that the movie brought in only $26,000 in limited release, according to ticket sales tabulated late Sunday.

Hilton’s new film, meanwhile, The Hottie and the Nottie, was a definite nottie.

The comedy, the all-new tale of a gorgeous blonde and her less-attractive brunette best friend, “grossed” $26,000 at 111 theaters. By comparison, In Bruges, the Colin Farrell hit-man comedy, grossed, in the truer sense of the word, $471,200 at only 28 theaters.

[From E! Online]

Now, this isn’t quite as much of a floating turd as Jessica Simpson’s movie, “Blonde Ambition,” however it did perform even more poorly than Pamela Anderson and Denise Richards’ stinker, “Blonde and Blonder.” It also drew brutal reviews from every critic who had the misfortune of seeing it.

One would think that after increasingly embarrassing forays into reality television, the Internet and the penitentiary, Paris Hilton might have taken a moment to reflect on her choices. Or perhaps not: with “The Hottie & the Nottie” Ms. Hilton proves yet again that introspection — not to mention shame — is as alien to her as a life without paparazzi. Custom designed for its smirking star (who is also an executive producer), this tasteless train wreck asks only that she preen and prance on cue.

[From The NY Times]

It’s almost needless to describe how awful “Hottie” is. It’s a total and complete misfire of intention and execution; an utterly worthless, unfunny sack of pain that doesn’t deserve anyone’s time or attention. It’s best to ignore it, like one might avoid say the plague or a “Two and a Half Men” studio taping. Oh yes, it’s that bad.

However, to lunge at Hilton’s throat for this botched abortion is too easy and truly not where this trail of tears leads. The culprit is Joel David Moore, an actor who, for some unknown reason, was told early on in his career that he was funny, and now we all have to pay for this demonic miscalculation of talent.

[From Celebrity Wonder]

America, thank you for showing your good taste and judgment by avoiding this movie. Paris doesn’t need any encouragement to continue her “acting” career. Hopefully this will be the nail in the coffin on that front, and she will go back to being tabloid fodder so we can all ignore her again.

Picture note by Celebitchy: Paris Hilton is shown at “Verizon and People Honor Timbaland” on 2/8/08, thanks to PRPhotos.

Paris Plays Gay for Role on ‘L Word’

alo-008987.jpg
Paris Hilton has been photographed kissing women in the past, but recently, she has really stepped up her fake lesbian game– she’s been seen kissing galpals Elisha Cuthbert and Brittney Gastineau just this month. Sources say her foray into gayness might be part of her agenda to land a role on the hit Showtime series, “The L Word.” It’s a steamy, soap-opera style drama about beautiful lesbians living in Los Angeles, and Paris sees it as a way to legitimize her acting career.

Following her makeout session with Elisha Cuthbert, Paris Hilton will appear in an episode of the Showtime lesbian drama The L Word.

“Once the strike is over, we are going to start talks, but I am definitely shooting it,” she told Usmagazine.com at the L.A. premiere of her comedy, The Hottie and the Nottie.

So will she play gay for pay?

“I don’t know yet,” she said.

For now, Hilton is content being an actress, but she told Us she is open to directing.

“Maybe one day, but right now I just like being in front of the camera,” she said.

[From US Weekly]

I’m not sure how to feel about this. I love “The L Word,” and I don’t want Paris and her dreadful acting contaminating it. I mean, have you seen “House of Wax?” Hopefully, this will be a one-time deal; a simple case of stunt casting in which Paris plays herself. There is a character on the show who is currently in jail– if the writers have a sense of humor, having Paris involved in that storyline could be good for a few laughs.

On the other hand, at least Paris is publicity-whoring for a reason this time, instead of just wanting attention. That’s progress for her, right?

Picture note by Celebitchy: Paris is shown with her costar Christina Lakin at the Hottie & the Nottie premiere last night. Unfortunately MSat and I didn’t coordinate our stories and there’s another Paris story coming up that I wrote.

Lindsay Lohan talks rehab, men and allergies

Lindsay Lohan is spilling her guts to UK Glamour magazine, probably because she doesn’t have a career to promote anymore

On avoiding the temptations of Hollywood:
“I don’t think it’s just young Hollywood – it’s the process of growing up. I’ve learned the hard way but, all in all, you learn and you grow and you become a stronger person”

On meeting three different men in Capri:
“If I’d been with every man I’ve been linked with I’d probably be dead by now! Generally speaking, my friends are much worse – I’m the goody-goody one by comparison. I’ve had to grow up fast. I’ve had a lot of responsibility from a young age.”

On Britney Spears and Amy Winehouse:
“I think lots of people go through dark times, but it’s even harder with everyone watching. It’s a lot of pressure and I really feel for them, but I can’t compare myself to them. Everyone is their own person and they will overcome it in their own ways.”

On misconceptions about her:
“The biggest misconception is probably that I don’t have my head in the right place. That, and probably that I’m not a good person. That makes me sad, because actually I am.”

On what or who she is allergic to aside from dogs:
“Liars and mean people. I’m a Cancerian so I’m sensitive and emotional, but very honest – so I don’t like liars. Also I don’t understand people who are mean for no reason.”

Glamour magazine vis Perez Hilton

Lilo, if you are the most grown up and conservative of all your friends, it’s probably time to get some new friends that aren’t sluts. Actually, after being in rehab, I think you are encouraged to find friends that are on the wagon with you, and associate with those who share the same goal. Not hanging out in clubs with people indulging in cocaine and vodka.

Lilo has two projects coming up, one where she plays a woman who kills homeless men to claim their life insurance, and another where she plays a prostitute. These both sound better than her turn as a stripper in I Know Who Killed Me, but none seems like comeback material. Good news for Lindsay, MTV Australia is in a bidding war with MTV Russia to get her to appear at the April awards ceremony. You’ve gotta get that paycheck from somewhere.

Brooke Shields says she keeps thinking she’s younger

jtm-030955.jpg
Brooke Shields has a new interview in the upcoming issue of Parade Magazine in which she talks about the issue a lot of us face as the years slide by; she says she thinks she’s younger than she is:

“I keep thinking I’m younger than I am,” the Lipstick Jungle star, 42, tells Parade magazine in its new issue. “The other day, I was working with a photographer to recreate an image we had done years ago. When I saw my face, I kind of went, ‘What is that?’ I assumed I was going to look the same, and I didn’t. It was a shock to my system.”

Still, the vibrant actress identifies with young characters for which she’ll read scripts – even if her husband, Chris Henchy, 43, thinks otherwise.

“Sometimes I’ll read a part and identify with the material, and I’ll say, ‘Oh, honey, I really like this,’ ” Shields says. “He’ll look at me like I’m crazy and ask, ‘What’s wrong with you? You’re not in your 20s. You seriously think you can walk in there and get this role? It’s going to a 24-year-old.’ ”

Nevertheless, Shields enjoys a busy life. Besides her TV series, there are daughters Rowan, 4, and Grier, 22 months.

“I’m really proud of my kids, I’m excited about my job, and my marriage is not suffering. It’s not easy, but it’s not falling apart,” she says. “This is the first time in my life that everything is exactly the way I want it to be.”

When I heard this story I was like “Bingo!” because this has been happening to me the last few months and I thought I was the only one. Even though I try to hide it on myspace and facebook, I’ll be honest and let you know that I turn 35 next month. I’ve been looking at myself in the mirror and thinking “Where did the time go?” and “Who is this person?” because in my mind I’m still late 20-something. So good for you, Brooke Shields, for being honest about it. A lot of us think we’re younger than we are. You don’t have to have an acting career to feel old.

Brooke Shields is shown in the header at the Glamour Magazine 2007 “Women of the Year Awards” on 11/5/07, thanks to PRPhotos. Here’s are pictures of her as a young girl. She’s still gorgeous.

Photos from Heath Ledger’s movies and career

Earlier this morning we posted candid and event photos from Heath Ledger’s all too short life. Here are photos from his many films. Ledger was a gifted actor who chose his roles carefully. He has a much-anticipated upcoming role in Batman sequel The Dark Knight as the Joker. Ledger admitted that preparation for the role gave him insomnia and left him jittery. He lived alone in an hotel room for a month to get in character as The Joker, and also went through some personal stress this year preparing for his role in the Dylan biopic I’m Not There:

Ledger said in an interview in November that “Dark Knight” and last year’s “I’m Not There,” took a heavy toll. He said he “stressed out a little too much” during the Dylan film, and had trouble sleeping while portraying the Joker, whom he called a “psychopathic, mass-murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy.”

“Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night,” Ledger told The New York Times. “I couldn’t stop thinking. My body was exhausted, and my mind was still going.” He said he took two Ambien pills, which only worked for an hour.

[From Ap.google.com]

Ledger turned down many teen films that were offered to him after his heartthrob role in 10 Things I Hate about You in 1999. He is quoted as saying “It wasn’t a hard decision for me. It was hard for everyone else around me to understand. Agents were like, ‘You’re crazy,’ my parents were like, ‘Come on, you have to eat.’”

Heath’s decision may have kept him from some quick cash, but it helped him land many critically acclaimed roles. He was nominated for an Oscar for his touching and quietly intense performance as a closeted man in the iconic film Brokeback Mountain in 2005. He played a heroin addict in the 2006 independent Australian film Candy, in a performance that was called “immensely impressive” and “perversely appealing.”

While Heath may have been tormented by the lengths he went through to perfect his craft, it’s clear that he was growing immensely as an actor and that some of his best roles were yet to come. RIP Heath, you will be missed and remembered.

Oprah is about to fire Dr. Phil over Britney debacle

oprahdrphil.jpg
Dr. Phil and the powerful mogul who made his career, Oprah, haven’t been the best of friends recently. Oprah was reportedly mighty pissed when Dr. Phil was successfully sued for his sham diet products and is said to have snubbed him by failing to attend his son Jay’s wedding in 2006. The Britney Scandal is the last straw for Oprah, the National Enquirer declares, and she’s set to give him the boot any day now. Oprah runs the production company that puts out Dr. Phil’s show and she calls all the shots. She thinks Dr. Phil exploited Britney and she’s steamed that instead of apologizing for his obvious blunder that violated ethics he continued to milk the ineffective intervention to get publicity for his tabloid-esque show:

“Phil has been warned by Oprah about many past mistakes. This was coming for a long time,” revealed a show source.

“They’ve waged a bitter feud for several years, but as head of Harpo, which produces his show, she can tell him to jump – and how high…

But the Britney scandal is much, much worse,” said the source.

Oprah will formally deliver Dr. Phil’s pink slip in a face-to-face meeting, sources say.

Some colleagues even question whether Dr. Phil violated professional patient confidentiality standards when he announced to the world: “My meeting with Britney leaves me convinced more than ever that she is in dire need of both medical and psychological intervention.”

The TV therapist decided to go public for a second time – but not to apologize for violating confidentiality. He simply announced he was scrapping plans for a Britney-themed show.

“Oprah was livid,” said the close source. “He should have thrown himself on his sword and said he should have never spoken to the media in the first place. But instead he used the spotlight to tout his struggling show.”

[From The National Enquirer, print edition, January 28, 2007]

Dr. Phil signed a $75 million five-year contract in 2005 worth $15 million a year so he stands to lose a lot if Oprah cans his ass. There’s news today that he finally made a half-assed statement on his show about how he didn’t help Britney, but he never said that he did anything unethical by talking about her to the press. He just said that he regrets talking about it, and he could regret because it may cost him his show:

“Was it helpful to the situation? Regrettably, no,” McGraw, 57, said Thursday during a taping of the Dr. Phil Show, reports USA Today. (The show is slated to air Monday.) “I definitely think if I had it to do over again, I probably wouldn’t make any statement at all. Period.”

[From People.com]

People notes that Dr. Phil says he would do it again and that he visited Britney as a “friend… of the family” because he’s not even licensed to practice psychology in California. A psychologist in California has lodged a complaint with the California Board of Psychology saying that Dr. Phil was practicing without a license by visiting Britney in the hospital. Dr. Phil’s Texas license expired in 2006 and has not been renewed. He’s also said to be having trouble booking celebrity guests because no one wants to be associated with him now. If Oprah doesn’t get rid of him for mishandling the Britney case maybe his ratings will tank enough to make it necessary anyway.

Lohan’s blowing her chance at a music career too

Lohan’s movie career has been derailed by her off-screen antics and general inability to show up on time for anything unless it involves booze and swag. It was thought that she would garner enough cash from her secondary music career to keep wandering aimlessly through life, shopping for needless luxuries and dragging paparazzi along the way, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. She’s not showing up to the studio, either, and prefers to fill her days with random hookups:

With [Lindsay's] acting career on hold following a series of big-screen bombs, she was due to work on a new album for Universal Music. But an insider tells Star exclusively that Lindsay has yet to record a note and that the company heavyweights are ready to give her the boot!

“She told Universal she’d have some material by January 1, but she’s done nothing,” the insider reveals. “Instead of working with producers, she ran off to Capri to party it up. So many people are mad at her, especially Timbaland and 50 Cent, who were kind enough to say they’d help her out. Even Justin Timberlake said he’d work with her on a song, but she blew him off.

[From Star Magazine, print edition, January 21, 2008]

Maybe Lohan will hit the gold mine and find a sugar daddy to support her. She’s been seen out with a new guy, and since they’ve primarily been spotted shopping it’s likely that he’s footing some of the bill. They were seen out at Dior yesterday and shopping for jewelery over the weekend. She’s not going to stick with one guy for long, though, even if he is sufficiently loaded to buy her plenty of brand name things to strew around her hotel room.

Lohan is shown out shopping at Dior with her new guy yesterday and outside a jewelery store with him the day before, thanks to Splash.
