Chris Brown thinks Europe is a country

Chris Brown was supposed to start his European tour this week, but the UK gave him a big fat “Not so much”. The UK refused Chris entry into the country, and thus, Chris had to cancel his big tour. Instead of having his press team release a statement about the tour cancellation and leaving it at that, Chris took to his Twitter and wrote (via Dlisted): “SORRY to all the fans in europe!!! my tour is cancelled, Im pretty sure yall know. my entry was denied in your country. i love you.SORRY!!” Yes, Chris thinks he was denied entry to the “country” of “Europe.” Here’s more from E! News:

Great Britain is officially Team Rihanna. Officials in the United Kingdom today announced that they have barred Chris Brown from entering the country for a concert due to his vicious 2009 attack on his former girlfriend.

“We reserve the right to refuse entry to the U.K. to anyone guilty of a serious criminal offence. Public safety is one of our primary concerns,” Britain’s Home Office said in a statement. “Each application to enter the U.K. is considered on its individual merits.”

Needless to say, Brown was found meritless.

“SORRY to all the fans in Europe!!! my tour is cancelled. Im pretty sure yall know. my entry was denied in your country. I love you. SORRY!!” Brown tweeted in a post that subsequently deleted in favor of an official statement from his publicist.

“Due to issues surrounding his work visa, the Ireland and United Kingdom leg of Chris Brown’s Fan Appreciation Tour has been postponed. Chris looks forward to performing for his fans abroad in the near future and thanks them for their continued support.”

Brown had been scheduled to perform in Glasgow, London and Manchester in the U.K., along with a stop in the Irish city of Cork. The 21-year-old R&B star remains on trash detail as part of his five-year probationary sentence following his guilty plea in the Rihanna assault case, Coincidentally, Rihanna was just in the U.K. last month for a string of concert dates. She didn’t have any problems with her visa.

[From E! News]

Chris Brown is a moron, that’s no secret. What could have been an educational experience in which Chris spent months and years building back the public’s confidence in him quickly turned into one of the worst, most self-pitying, pathetic “comeback” PR campaigns ever. But having the UK deny him entry? This sh-t is priceless. And Chris, forever the jackass, made it worse with his tweet. I wish America could deport Chris to the North Pole.

Chris Brown throws a tantrum during radio interview
R&B bad boy Chris Brown shows off his spindly ankles as he leaves the Staples Centre after the Lakers game

We haven’t been hearing all that much from Chris Brown as of late. He’s been doing his community service, he’s been defending Tiger Woods, and he’s been trying to get people to listen to his music. That last activity is probably the funniest, because it seems that Chris’s new-ish album (he released it several months ago) pretty much sank without a trace. Chris doesn’t know how to handle himself when no one gives a sh-t about him. He’s already begged his fans for more support. And now he’s being an asshat to some deejay who just trying to interview him.

Chris called in to Q94 in Virginia yesterday, and when the deejay was trying to help Chris promote his concert – to benefit Haiti – Chris laid into the deejay for not playing his songs:

Chris Brown: “I Love You” that’s rocking right now.
DJ Kash: Oh with Ester Dean?
Chris Brown: Yeah with Ester Dean. S**t rocks.
DJ Kash: Word? I was actually thinking about making that my pick of the day.
Chris Brown: Yeah but what I’m saying is y’all don’t play my s**t.
DJ Kash: Yeah we do, but that’s just not even impacting on the charts. Is it even anywhere on the charts?
Chris Brown: Yeah.
DJ Kash: What number is it at?
Chris Brown: What number is it at? It don’t matter though so…why am I even doing this interview? F**k it I ain’t doing this s**t.
[Chris hangs up.]

[Transcribed by Bark Bite Blog]

I love that the deejay was all “What number is it at [bitch]?” I used to work at a radio station, and while many deejays do get to show their musical preferences partially, for the majority of their time, they are obligated to play the mandatory “top songs/albums” playlist. Unless of course it’s a classic rock station or something. So, more likely than not, the deejay couldn’t play Chris’s album because it wasn’t on the “playlist”. But I digress. Bark Bite Blog summed up Chris’s problem: “His sense of entitlement is suffocating. It’s incredible that despite all of the hurdles Chris has faced after his felony conviction, his ego maintains its gargantuan size. Radio doesn’t OWE him support, he has to earn it. And cursing out a DJ isn’t gonna get him more spins on anyone’s station. His poor record label, JIVE, had to call afterward to apologize for Chris’ toddler-like temper tantrum to boot. If Chris wants to be treated like an adult, he needs to act like one.”

Thanks to LaineyGossip for the heads up!

Chris Brown begs fans to help him revive his career

Chris Brown Progress Report Hearing
Chris Brown is no longer on Twitter, but he’s still online and is trying to rally his fans for support. Brown is promising everyone that he’s changed and says it’s time that radio stations started playing his music again. The convicted batterer recorded a message on his SayNow page asking that his fans help him get airplay. This is the same guy who told the music industry to kiss his ass. Now that they’re doing that, he realizes that his “fantasy factory” won’t run on wishes alone.

“I ain’t never really did this but right now I need all of my fans help. A lot of radio stations aren’t playing my records. They are not being that supportive and I wouldn’t expect them to. It’s on the fans and what you guys do in your power to bring me back. That’s all I need is you guys and nothing else will do that except for the fans. I don’t know what else to say. It’s nothing else that I can do. I’m doing everything that I need to do. I’m doing me as a person and I’m a better guy. It’s on ya’ll. My singing and my music I do it for you guys and everything else but it won’t be possible if I’m not relevant on the radio and it wouldn’t be possible for me to be an artist if I don’t have the support. I can’t be an underground mixtape artist. That’s where we are. I just want all my fans to help me. I love ya’ll. Peace”.

[Transcript thanks to Bossip]

I was all ready to roll my eyes and say the kid doesn’t deserve a chance – I still don’t think he does – but his message sounded sincere to me. Kaiser and many of you are sure to take me to task for saying that, but I think the kid just really yearns for the level of success he had before he choked, bit and punched the living daylights out of his famous girlfriend. I doubt that’s every going to happen for him, and rightfully so. He’s complying with the terms of his probation and has been praised by a judge for keeping up with his community service requirements. That’s something. He still pissed away more opportunities than most of us will see in a lifetime. He treated the woman he supposedly loved like a punching bag and left her there for dead. He can plead all he wants but he did this to himself. He’s still got fans, though, and some are likely to heed his pathetic call for help.

Chris Brown defends Tiger Woods, says “my hat is off” to him
Chris Brown walks the runway at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York

This story honestly turns my stomach. One guy is an entitled emotionally abusive philanderer who made a billion dollars playing golf. The other guy is a narcissistic, immature kid who beat, choked and bit his girlfriend and left her for dead, and who also made a million plus as a singer. The woman-beating singer relates to the serial cheating golf player and thinks he’s experienced enough media fallout to comment on the matter. This is the same stupid kid who called the media response to the way he terrifically battered Rihanna “immature” and “blown out of proportion.” Maybe Tiger Woods and his 13+ mistresses can relate to Brown too. What’s the big deal, right?

Chris Brown compared himself to Tiger Woods in a radio interview Wednesday, saying both him [sic] and the golf icon deserve second chances from the public for their mistakes…

The R&B star told the Mojo In The Morning radio show “nobody has the right to place judgment or make any judgment on somebody else’s personal life when they’re not directly involved with them.

“Whatever his personal life is and I think this goes for me and him — his personal life is his personal life,” the convicted woman batterer said of Woods, who admitted to cheating on his wife Elin during his televised apology last Friday. “Like they might be a fan, or might support what they’re doing but like if he plays golf, like that’s his sport, that’s his hobby, that’s his love, that’s what people love him for. They don’t love him for the other stuff that they talking about.

Brown — whose clean cut-image was tarnished after he beat then-girlfriend Rihanna last year — drew parallels between himself and Woods.

“I think, even with me, like I do music, I sing songs, like I’m an entertainer, I’m a performer, but people make mistakes,” the Forever singer told the show. “So my hat is off to him — I support him, I hope he gets back on the field and does his thing, cause he is the best at it.”

[From Radar Online]

So Brown said “nobody has the right to place judgment or make any judgment on somebody else’s personal life when they’re not directly involved with them.” So we’re supposed to just shrug when someone famous severely beats their girlfriend or cheats on their wife with numerous hookers and porn stars? They’re here to entertain us and even if they behave as if they have no morals in their personal life Brown thinks it shouldn’t matter. I don’t care how well someone sings or plays a sport if they’re committing crimes when they’re not in the public eye. I chose not to support those type of scumbags. The difference between Tiger and Chris is that, as Tiger’s mom said, (most) of his activities weren’t illegal. (It is illegal to hire hookers in the city of Las Vegas.)

You can hear Chris Brown’s interview on the Mojo in the Morning website.

Chris Brown praised by judge for progress with community service

Chris Brown Progress Report Hearing
For all you can say about Chris Brown (arrogant, lacking understanding of the consequences of his actions, etc.), he’s fulfilling his court-ordered duties without a hitch. Lindsay Lohan has ditched her alcohol education classes multiple times, but Chris Brown has attended every single one of his domestic violence education sessions. He’s also doing the hard labor he initially complained about for his community service requirements and is receiving praise for it. The judge in his domestic violence case said that Brown has progressed well when Brown showed up for a review.

At a progress review Thursday, L.A. Superior Court Judge Patricia M. Schnegg praised the singer, who personally appeared in court, saying, “Looks like you’re doing really, really well [fulfilling your probation terms]. That’s always good to see.”

The singer, so far, has completed 17 out of 52 group sessions for domestic violence and hasn’t missed one. The judge added that Brown has so far completed 32 days of hard labor. He received similar praise from the judge at his last progress review in November.

Brown, 20, was sentenced last August to six months of community labor for his felony assault on Rihanna, 21, which amounts to more than 1,400 total hours of washing cars, removing graffiti and cleaning and maintaining grounds in his home state of Virginia.

He was also sentenced to five years probation, a year of domestic violence classes and ordered not to contact Rihanna for the next five years. He has publicly apologized for his actions.

Friends of Brown’s say the singer has been getting his life and career back on track. “He’s in good spirits,” says MTV’s Sway Calloway. “He’s been doing work and speaking in circles with people who also have been victimized by domestic violence.”

“He’s learned that when you’re a celebrity, public perception is fragile,” Calloway adds. “But I think he’ll recover. He’s a good dude who made a big mistake.”

[From People]

Chris is “speaking in circles with people who also have been victimized by domestic violence“? Good for him I guess, but I’m skeptical of this news because I think it would have been much more widely reported. This kid isn’t going to pass up a chance at good PR.

So will Chris re-gain a significant portion of the fame and success he enjoyed before he choked, bit and sucker-punched his famous girlfriend? He did tell the music industry to
kiss his ass after his latest CD tanked and failed to sell out even small venues on his recent tour. I’m guessing he has to do a lot more than fulfilling his court-ordered requirements. Hollywood accepted Roman Polanski back though, so it’s possible that angry Chris will be all over the airwaves again soon.

Chris Brown, idiot, poses next to bloodied Jean-Paul Gaultier

fp_4401078_ang_brown_chris_gaultier_012110

Chris Brown has made another public relations “misstep”. And no, I’m not calling a violent attack on his girlfriend a “misstep,” I’m calling all of Chris’s disastrous media relations post-beating “missteps.” Chris has shown himself to be a f-cking idiot when it comes to managing his own image, and I really and truly have no sympathy for him. Anyway, these are photos of Chris in Paris attending Jean-Paul Gaultier’s “warrior-themed” runway show. Since Gaultier loves his themes and loves his drama, he dressed up by applying some fake blood and bruises to his face. And there’s Chris, posing like a moron beside him, like Chris just gave him a beat-down.

It took us all of one millisecond to realise that this picture was a very bad idea – so WHY would Chris Brown do this?

Ok, so maybe he is as thick as he looks, but surely someone could have stopped him from taking this horrendously tasteless picture?

Given that the words ‘violent d-ckhead’ are synonymous with Chris Brown, posing with Jean Paul Gaultier (who must also be pretty dim) with a fake black eye and fat lip is not the best way to get past attacking Rihanna.

Which we assume he is trying to achieve by hanging out at celebrity parties and smiling like a complete fool.

[From 3 AM UK]

Fame Pictures notes that Gaultier’s show featured “pro-fighter themes and adorned himself in the same brutalized fake blood and bruises as his models.” If you were Chris Brown, and you were known around the world as the violent piece of sh-t that beat and strangled your girlfriend, wouldn’t you steer clear of any public event that used words like “warrior” or “blood” or “bruises” or “brutal”? Wouldn’t you only go to events that had the words “kittens” or “cotton candy” or “fluffy” in the description?

Lil Bow Wow drinks and drives and tweets about it

Bow Wow at Pure
Proving that you should never pick up your keys or cell phone after you’ve had too much to drink (unless you’re calling/texting for a ride and handing the keys over), rapper Lil Bow Wow tweeted on New Years eve that he was so wasted he couldn’t feel his face and that he probably shouldn’t have driven his Lamborghini. You think? The 22 year-old was hanging out with two other singers known for their great decision making skills, Chris Brown and Akon. Why am I not surprised to learn these three are friends?

Bow Wow realized what a dumb move he’d made by both driving and tweeting about it and apologized and deleted the post the next morning. It didn’t matter though because he’d already put it out there.

The Artist Formerly Known as Lil’ Bow Wow, who partied with Brown and Akon last night at LIV nightclub at the Fontainbleau in Miami, posted a message to his Twitter page just past midnight that read, “Face numb im whippin the lambo. Tispy as f*k. Just left @livmiami.”

A few minutes later, Mr. Wow wrote, “Im f**ked up!!! Ohhhh damn. Y i drive the lambo. Chris might have to drive after next spot.”

BTW, the tweet isn’t enough for cops to make an arrest.

UPDATE — Bow Wow has since taken down the aforementioned tweets and apologized, saying, “Apologize for that tweet. it was stupid and immature. not a way i want to kick my #2010 year off. i got too much good stuff lined up. my bad.”

[From TMZ]

I hope this kid learned his lesson. Not only was he driving drunk he was probably texting at the same time! I’ve heard of terrible accidents when completely sober people were trying to text behind the wheel. Why didn’t Bow Wow let Brown drive in the first place? Brown is not supposed to drink as a term of his probation, although I don’t think he has an alcohol monitoring anklet as alcohol abuse wasn’t his main problem. Maybe Bow Wow was afraid that Brown might haul off and pound him when he was sitting in the passenger’s seat. What a fool.

This photo is from 2006 but I couldn’t pass it up:

Chris Brown treats random strippers better than Rihanna
Chris Brown Visits BET's "106 & Park"

This little report from Page Six made me sick. Apparently, Chris Brown was at a strip club in New York recently, and he treated all of the girls with respect. One stripper even went on the record with Page Six, saying that Chris was “on his best behavior, especially with regards to how he treats women.” Which is fine. I’m glad Chris didn’t disrespect the strippers or hit them or anything. I just wish he had shown his girlfriend the same respect. Two more points: Chris Brown has an “eye for the Latinas” and Chris isn’t drinking in public anymore, because that would violate his probation. Right.

Chris Brown finally got a break — when he unwittingly found himself at Greenhouse with girls from topless club FlashDancers.

A source said, “When 86 gorgeous girls turned up, Chris Brown, who just happened to be there, looked delighted. And he has an eye for the Latinas.”

Brown, who’s still on probation for beating Rihanna wasn’t drinking, the girls told Page Six. One ecdysiast who calls herself Carmen said, “He was the perfect gentleman and very polite.”

Another girl, Maria, told us: “He was talking to me but checking out all the other girls at the same time. He seemed fun but very flirtatious . . . it was clear he had to be on his best behavior, especially with regards to how he treats women.”

[From Page Six]

Here’s what makes me sick about this – that Chris Brown makes news for not abusing women. And that he’s free to go to strip clubs. Ugh.

In other news, Chris Brown has made most of the year-end lists of whatever. Usually the domestic abuse incident makes it on the list of “Most Shocking Events” or “Most Talked About Events” of the year. Is it weird that I hope 2010 brings us significantly less Chris Brown news? Maybe it’s already happening… Chris is bringing such a collective “meh” from stores and fans that I’ve got my fingers crossed for his career to simply fade out.

Rihanna: it took strength to leave Chris Brown, learned “love is blind”

rihanna-gq2

Earlier today, Rihanna’s topless GQ cover was revealed. A few hours later, the whole interview went online, and it seems pretty extensive. What GQ lacks in great photographic editorial, it makes up for with engaging interviews. Rihanna talked about how she doesn’t want to be defined by Chris Brown’s abuse, and how it took “a lot of strength” to exit that relationship. These photos are from the GQ spread too - lots of nudity, hint of nipple. Which might be the title of my memoir, come to think of it!

By continuing to speak out about Chris Brown’s violent Feb. 8 attack, Rihanna says she is slowly moving past the ugly incident.

“It’s relieving,” the singer, 21, says in the January issue of GQ. “Because it was built up for so long, and all these thoughts and emotions have been running through my mind for the past eight months. And now it’s like I finally get to let go and move on.”

Although she says doesn’t like “talking about it” a lot, “every time I do, it’s better; it’s easier each time.”

She says she finally decided to speak out about the incident because “I wanted to move on. And I knew that was the only way I could have done it. And I wanted people to move on with me. ‘Cause the last big thing they know about me is That Night. And I don’t want that to be what people define me as.”

Although pal Jay-Z gave her “advice and guidance,” she says “nobody” helped her move past the incident.

“I didn’t really want to be around anybody, for them to stare at me and stuff, and feel sorry for me. So I just — I stayed in the house a lot. Then I started to get cabin fever. I was like, I’m going crazy in here,” says the singer, who just dropped her latest album, Rated R.

Returning to the studio was therapeutic, she says. Looking back, Rihanna says the biggest lesson she learned is that “love is blind.”

“It took a lot of strength to pull out of that relationship,” she says. “To finally just officially cut it off. It was like night and day. It was two different worlds. It was the world I lived for two years, and then having the strength to say, ‘I’m gonna step into my own world. Start over.’”

She says the physical pain was nothing compared to the emotional pain.

“The bruises fade away,” she says. “But the thing that stays with you is the emotional scars.”

Asked if she’ll ever be friends with Brown again, she says, “Maybe in like ten years, you know? But it’s not something that I’m depending on. I’m not depending on his friendship.”

Her message to women in abusive relationships?

“Stop blaming yourself for that outcome,” she says. “There’s nothing you can do, ever, to excuse a man’s behavior like that.”

[From Us Weekly]

It’s interesting that Rihanna says she learned that “love is blind” – she told Diane Sawyer that she learned “f-ck love”. I tend to think “f-ck love” is a better motto, because the whole “love is blind” thing doesn’t really apply to abusive pricks. I mean, if the guy’s hitting you, who cares what he looks like? That’s what I take from it. I also find it interesting that Rihanna is adamant she got through the difficult period on her own – I suspect (as I’ve said before) that she’s still very screwed up over the entirety of the Chris Brown stuff, and she’s going to be playing with these submission-dominance images and substance for a while. Let’s hope she comes through okay!

Chris Brown deletes his Twitter account after telling music industry to kiss *ss

R&B badboy, Chris Brown, is driven away from Avalon after his evening performance, Los Angeles
Yesterday people noticed that Chris Brown was lashing out at the music industry through his Twitter account, and complaining about stores refusing to sell his new CD, Graffiti. Chris tweeted (this version is cleaned up and he used the full words) “im tired of this sh-t. major stores r blackballing my cd. not stockin the shelves and lying to costumers. what the f-ck do i gotta do… im not biting my tongue about sh-t else… the industry can kiss my ass.” Everyone kind of clucked their tongues and said that Chris was just showing his true angry and abusive nature.

Joy Behar and her panel on CNN discussed Chris’ nasty tweets. (Link leads to video.) When they wondered aloud who he was angry at – the industry or Walmart – one of them asked “Who is within punching distance?” adding “It’s amazing he has a career at all at this point… He lost his career because of his personal problems.”

According to sources quoted in the Bill Zwecker’s column in the Chicago Sun Times, Chris’ anger management classes aren’t working and this is just one of many incidents in which he’s blown up. “He’s been losing it regularly,” their source says.

Chris might have one less venue in which to vent his frustration at how just the world can be. He deleted his Twitter account yesterday afternoon, probably after his handlers heard the fallout from his obnoxious tirade. MTV has the news. They also say that the Walmart in Wallingford, CT that Chris personally visited and got all up in arms over not seeing his CD had simply sold out of it. Oops! Hey – that reminds me of the $300,000 Oops! necklace Chris bought after the world learned that he beat his girlfriend to a pulp and bit her earring off.

Chris Brown’s irate state of mind, as displayed over the weekend in a series of angry tweets, came to an end Monday afternoon (December 14) when the embattled R&B artist abruptly canceled his Twitter account and abandoned tens of thousands of followers.

“I WANNA THANK MY FANS FOR ALL THE SUPPORT,” Brown posted on his @MechanicalDummy account, moments before it was deleted. “I LOVE YALL. GOODBYE!!!!!!!!!!!!”…

Over the weekend, the 20-year-old continued his attacks on music retailers, telling his Twitter followers that he had gone into a Walmart and discovered that his record wasn’t even available for purchase. “Just was at Walmart in Wallingford CT, 844 north colony,” Brown tweeted Saturday night. “The[y] didn’t even have my album in the back … not on shelves, saw for myself.” Brown said he talked to the store’s managers and “they didn’t even know anything. Wow!!! But they had Alicia Keys album ready for release for this Tuesday comin … the manager told me that when there are new releases it’s mandatory to put em on the shelves … BUT NO SIGN OF #GRAFFITI. BS.”

A sales associate at the Walmart in question told MTV News that the store had actually sold out of the album.

Throughout the weekend, representatives for Brown and his label, Jive Records, were not available or had no comment when MTV News reached out. Similarly, they would not address Brown’s apparent cancellation of his Twitter page. Now, when you click on his @MechanicalDummy alias, viewers are greeted coldly with a “Sorry, that page doesn’t exist” notice.

[From MTV]

Someone with control over Chris’ career told him to cut it out or risk alienating the silver of goodwill people may have left for him. The kid made his bed and he’s not going to have the cash to stay in it. He’s going to have to start selling off some of the toys in that “Fantasy Factory” he said he was building. It will be more like a fantasy double wide.
