Tracy Morgan rips on Chris Kattan & Cheri Oteri: “F–k ‘em”

wenn5358640
Maybe I’m alone, but I love Tracy Morgan. I know he’s crazy, but I totally love him and his 30 Rock character, which I assume is loosely based on the real Tracy. African-American comedians have had a tortured history on Saturday Night Live - for every Eddie Murphy, there are at least two players whose names you can’t even remember because they were hardly in any skits, and they left after a year or two. The fact that Tracy was able to find a character that people love – even if it is based on his life – is wonderful.

Anyway, Tracy has a new tell-all book called “I Am the New Black”. Tracy writes about his Saturday Night Live days, as well as his childhood and the nature of fame. The biggest revelation is that everything wasn’t so happy and cozy at SNL – Tracy claims that Chris Kattan and Cheri O’Teri used to ignore him. Tracy writes: “I could remember those two, especially those two people, treating me like the invisible guy. Now look where they at. Cheri Oteri, she can’t even get arrested…That’s what happened to me over there. They never treated me well. I never cared for them either. F— ‘em.” Gatecrasher has more:

Watch out, “Saturday Night Live” cast members: Tracy Morgan has a new tell-all, and he’s not afraid to use it.

In “I Am the New Black” – out from Random House next Tuesday – the funnyguy slams some of his former “SNL” co-stars, writing of his 10-year stint on the show: “I had my finger on the pulse of urban comedy, but when I brought my act to ‘SNL,’ those mother——— just felt bad for me. None of the cast I came up with saw this future for me. No, sir. All I have to say about that is, where’s Chris Kattan now? Where’s Cheri Oteri now? That b—- can’t even get arrested.”

But Morgan does have some love for a few of his past “SNL” cohorts, including his current “30 Rock” boss, Tina Fey. “Tina wasn’t scared to come into my world and find the funny up in there. She’s that kind of cool,” he writes.

The two get along so well, in fact, that Fey even used one of her more bizarre nights during her ‘SNL” stint with Morgan as the inspiration for a famous “30 Rock” episode in which she accompanies Tracy to an “after-after-after-after party.”

“I wasn’t really friends with many of my castmates at ‘SNL,’ but that doesn’t mean I didn’t roll up into ‘SNL’ and all those after parties with my own friends,” the comedian explains. “Friends of mine were running an illegal strip club they called the Loft. It was in an office space they’d rented and converted into an after-the-after-party spot. They put a stage in it, they put a few futons all around, and they’d get strippers and girls to come and do shows.”

(And a few, er, other things, which Morgan details in the tome – but it’s a tad too racy to detail here.)

“I invited everyone to go down there one week. And Tina Fey, Rachel Dratch and a few others came along. I didn’t tell any of them what they were in for, so it was all cool when we got there. At first … they thought it was just a private party. Then these two girls came out onstage and started [engaging in sex acts], and that just shut it down. All the grips and crew guys from ‘SNL’ were standing around and loving it, but my castmates took one look at that, turned right around and rushed out of there.”

But even Tracy knows that if he’s anything, he’s memorable. “They might have left,” he says, “but it was all that anybody talked about around the show for the next week.”

[From Gatecrasher]

I’ve always found Chris Kattan pretty annoying, so I can believe that about him. But I hoped that Cheri O’Teri was nicer than that. Oh well. She could be a piece of work, who knows? Generally, I find these sort of tell-all, behind-the-scenes books very tedious, but Tracy’s might be a good read.

30 Rock is coming back this week, by the way. I can’t wait, I’m so excited. And I actually enjoyed Tracy’s story of his boys arranging the after-party. One of my favorite parts of 30 Rock is Tracy’s (and the other characters’) interactions with his two-man entourage, Dot Com and Gris. Those two actors are so lovely and so funny, they kind of steal every scene they’re in. More Dot Com and Gris!

Jeremy Piven freaks out at Chris Kattan, starts screaming at him (Update)

Chris Kattan
Am I the only one who finds Jeremy “The Piv” Piven rather douchey? He’s always hitting on barely-legal girls and seems to give off the pungent stench of “gross”. That whole controversy with him dropping out of a Broadway play because of sushi poisoning was weird too – and The Piv is still being sued for that incident. If I was going to say something nasty to him, it would be about the barely-legal girls, not the mercury poisoning. It seems SNL-alum Chris Kattan went the other route, though. The Piv and Kattan were backstage at MTV when Kattan made a crack about The Piv’s play. The Piv proceeded to throw a massive hissy fit, and verbally attacked Chris in a “really personal” way, and Chris backed off, saying “Whoa, man – I thought we were just fooling around here.” When Chris tried to apologize a little while later, The Piv just slammed the door in Kattan’s face:

Jeremy Piven can’t take a joke when it comes to that alleged mercury poisoning. Backstage at Alexa Chung’s MTV talk show on Thursday, the “Entourage” star got into a screaming match with fellow comic Chris Kattan over the fishy situation.

Kattan – who’s been in town talking up his IFC miniseries “Bollywood Hero” – greeted Piven with a snarky, “So, what are you here to promote, your Broadway play?”

Piven, who famously dropped out of “Speed the Plow” in December, is in a legal battle with producers who believe the actor fabricated his illness in order to get out of completing his contract, and was none too happy to be reminded of the incident.

The actor sniped back irritably, “Well, what are you here to promote? Mango?” – a reference to Kattan’s swishy “Saturday Night Live” stripper character.

The actors continued to bark for a few minutes, but while Kattan thought the argument was in jest, Piven did not. Says an insider, “After some back and forth, Jeremy said something really personal to Chris that basically attacked his career. He said ‘Whoa, man – I thought we were just fooling around here.’”

Not the right thing to say to the man who plays Ari Gold, apparently. “I’m getting sued for that s–t!” the actor shouted. “It’s not funny!”

Our source adds, “Jeremy slammed the green room door right in Chris’ face, and about 20 people in the hallway outside could hear him yelling obscenities. He was furious.”

“Chris felt really badly about the whole thing, so about 15 minutes later he tried to approach Jeremy again to apologize, to tell him he was just kidding and that he didn’t mean to offend in any way. But Jeremy wasn’t having it at all. He slammed the door in Chris’ face AGAIN.”

Says Piven’s rep of the incident, “Jeremy and Chris did see each other at MTV and they were joking around backstage before a talk show appearance, as many actors do. If it was interpreted as a fight, someone wasn’t paying attention.”

Kattan’s publicist has a different take on the situation. “Chris mistakenly asked Jeremy if he was there to promote his play and Piven fired back with ‘What are you here to promote, Mango?’ Chris tried to apologize.”

We still urge Jeremy to lighten up. Aren’t comedians supposed to be able to take a joke?

[From Gatecrasher]

Chuckle. I could make a crack about bitchy C-list talent, but I tend to think The Piv might be considered B-List at this point. His turn on Entourage has won him some awards, so it seems he’s in a better position, career-wise, than Kattan. I love it when men show their inner divas, though. It’s hilarious. It would have been funnier if Kattan and The Piv had actually gotten into a slap-fight. I would have put money on Kattan in that case.

UPDATE: Part of the denial is already in the Gatecrasher piece, but The Piv’s people just released another denial. They’re protesting so loudly, it makes me think that there was a lot of truth to this story. Anyway, The Piv’s mouthpiece says the same stuff that’s in Gatecrasher, but adds a new detail, “If it was interpreted as a fight, someone wasn’t paying attention, that’s all. Both gentlemen spoke on the phone yesterday, there is no issue.” Aw, sounds like The Piv called Chris to apologize. That’s better than holding some immature grudge, so good for them.

Chris Kattan ordered to pay up for end of his 59-day marriage

Chris Kattan may be funny (that’s still debatable), but he’s probably shedding some tears over the six-figure sum he’s been ordered to fork over to his bride of 59 days, model Sunshine Tutt. Though the couple had a prenuptial agreement going into the marriage, Tutt’s lawyers renegotiated it and managed to get an undisclosed raise for their client. Sources say it’s in the six-figure ballpark.

Chris Kattan and Sunshine Tutt were only married for 59 days — but that doesn’t mean she isn’t going home with a nice consolation prize.

Sources tell TMZ there was prenup that would’ve given Tutt less than 10 grand — but a renegotiation just upped the ante to a low six-figure sum.

Tutt’s lawyer, Ronald Richards, told us: “My client is very relieved that she can leave this two month marriage with some resources that will allow her to rebuild her life.”

Sounds like Kattan is the best mistake Tutt’s ever made.

[From TMZ]

Is she really entitled to that much money after being his wife for two months? According to reports, both parties were cheating. Was Chris that desperate to get rid of her that he was willing to part with some big bucks to do it? It’s not like he is rolling in dough or anything. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how Sunshine “rebuilds” her life with her ex’s cash.

Chris Kattan’s wife of two months was cheating; he may have been too

We told you how SNL alum and creator of the most annoying recurring character ever, “Mango,” Chris Kattan, has separated from his wife of eight weeks, model Sunshine Tutt. At the time, no further details were given, except that the couple had issues they were trying to work out. Now, those “issues” are being revealed: Kattan reportedly caught his wife fooling around with an ex-boyfriend. However, her family says that Kattan was the one who was stepping out of the marriage.

The real reason the marriage of comic Chris Kattan exploded after eight weeks was because pals think one of them was cheating.

Which one? It depends on who you ask!

The former “Saturday Night Live” cast member’s pals say there ain’t no Sunshine in his life anymore because he caught his 31-year-old wife with an ex-boyfriend shortly after they got married on June 28.

“Chris walked in on Sunshine while she was with her ex,” charged a source close to the 37-year-old star.

“He was away making a film, came home unexpectedly – and dumped her on the spot. Chris contacted his attorney and told the lawyer to ‘work it out – pay her a lump sum so we can both move on.’”

…Meanwhile, Sunshine’s family claims it was Kattan who had wandering eyes.

“Sunshine is devastated,” a family member told The Enquirer.

“I asked Sunshine, ‘What happened, honey?’ She told me that he met someone else!”

Her angry grandmother Jean Tutt told The Enquirer that the allegation that Sunshine returned to an old boyfriend “is a downright lie! Sunshine was absolutely crushed.

“They had been together for more than three years, and she was absolutely head over heels in love with Chris. He proposed to her at our house. And I spent my good, hard-earned money to fly out to California for their wedding – then I was shocked when they split up,” said the no-nonsense Texan.

Kattan’s rep denied that the couple accuse each other of cheating.’

Meanwhile, Sunshine’s grandmother says the family is mourning the end of the marriage. “It was so sad because they were so good together, and she was such a great help to his career,” she said.

“Personally, I never really understood what she saw in him, but that didn’t matter to us.”

[From The National Enquirer print version, Sept. 22, 2008]

I don’t know who to believe, but Sunshine’s grandmother should have her own reality show. Yes, she is delusional, but that’s what makes her so awesome. She defends her granddaughter while taking a swipe at Chris. Spoken like a true grandma. But really: saying that this Sunshine chick was good for Chris Kattan’s career? Seriously? Chris Kattan, of “Corky Romano” fame?

Chris Kattan and his wife split after just 8 weeks of marriage

Former Saturday Night Live actor Chris Kattan, 37, was dating his wife, model Sunshine Tutt, 31, for three years before they tied the knot two months ago. They were engaged for two out of those three years and seemed destined for a lifetime of happiness together – or at least a handful of years of wedding bliss. It may not happen for them, though, they’ve split up after just eight weeks together. Their rep confirms the news to US Weekly but says they’re not planning to divorce yet:

No joke: After just eight weeks of marriage, Saturday Night Live alum Chris Kattan and his wife, model Sunshine Tutt, have split.

“Separated for the moment. No plans for divorce at this time,” his rep tells Usmagazine.com.

Kattan, 37, and Tutt, 31 — who began dating in 2005 after meeting at a birthday party — tied the knot this past June 28 in Yosemite Valley, Calif.

He popped the question at Tutt’s grandmother’s home in Gainesville, Texas, on Christmas Eve 2006. He gift wrapped the ring in a present.

[From US Weekly]

Have any of you known couples that were married and then broke up less than a few months later? I’ve only heard of this happening for celebrity couples, but surely there are plenty of laypeople who break up before the wedding gifts are even opened. Maybe reality sets in quickly for them and they just can’t handle it.
