Corey Feldman: “The number one problem in Hollywood is pedophilia”

wenn3387343

Corey Feldman is talking about pedophilia in a new interview with ABC’s Nightline, all for a special about child stars. I’ve just watched the video, and I have to say… Corey doesn’t seem cracked-out at all. He seems lucid and kind of paranoid, but he also seems like he’s trying to get to some deeper truth. Basically, I’m saying that I tend to believe the spirit of what he’s saying:

Here are some excerpts:

Sick, sad and twisted. Corey Feldman experienced the highs and lows of being famous and underage. In an interview with ABC’s Nightline that aired Wednesday, the 40-year-old former child star said that pedophiles were “like vultures” in the entertainment industry.

“The number one problem in Hollywood was, is and always will be pedophilia,” he said. “It’s all done under the radar… But it’s the big secret.”

“I was surrounded by [pedophiles] when I was 14 years old. … Didn’t even know it. It wasn’t until I was old enough to realize what they were and what they wanted … till I went, Oh, my God. They were everywhere,” Feldman, now 40, said.

Feldman went on to assert that pedophilia contributed to the early death of his friend Corey Haim, pointing the finger at one person in Hollywood, but stopping short of naming him.

“There’s one person to blame in the death of Corey Haim. And that person happens to be a Hollywood mogul. And that person needs to be exposed, but, unfortunately, I can’t be the one to do it,” he said. “There was a circle of older men that surrounded themselves around this group of kids. They all had either their own power, or connections to great power in the entertainment industry.”

Feldman said that Haim’s substance addiction was also a “symptom” of the molestation he experienced earlier in life.

“There’s a lot of good people in this industry, but there’s also a lot of really, really sick, corrupt people in this industry,” Feldman said. “There are people… who have gotten away with [pedophilia] for so long that they feel that they’re above the law. And that’s gotta change. That’s gotta stop.”

My biggest problem is that he doesn’t name names. Is he afraid of repercussions to his non-existent career, or does he simply not want to be sued for defamation? Don’t get me wrong, I’m totally buying that a major mogul is into kids. I’m also buying that more Hollywood players are either into children, or very young, underage women, than we’ll ever know. I would just like to know the name of the specific guy Corey is referring to, or at least some clue to form into some kind of blind item.

Corey Feldman not invited to Corey Haim’s funeral

FILE: Actor Corey Haim dead at 38
Corey Haim passed away last Wednesday from what his mother said was pulmonary congestion, or fluid in the lungs. He also had an enlarged heart and a reported addiction to prescription pain medication, some of which could have been illegally obtained. Toxicology results from the coroner have not yet been released.

Corey’s reality show co-star and his close friend, fellow former child star Corey Feldman, won’t be at his funeral next week in Haim’s hometown of Toronto. Feldman released a statement confirming that he had not been invited to the family’s private funeral but said that he was in close contact with Feldman’s mom. The Haim family was unable to pay for the funeral, and the bill was footed by a memorabilia dealer who is auctioning off Corey’s things. Feldman is planning his own memorial for Haim to take place in Los Angeles in about two week.

The funeral planned by Corey Haim’s family in his hometown will be short Corey Feldman.

“In the days following my best friend Corey Haim’s death, I have spent much time with his mother Judy, who has always been like a mother to me,” the actor explains in a statement. “I would love nothing more than to be by her side at Corey’s funeral, however, due to their strong religious beliefs and need for privacy, the family has decided to make Corey’s funeral on Tuesday a small private affair.

“Understanding the recent media attention and to be respectful of the family’s wishes, I have decided not to attend.”

The living Corey makes no comment—and the family obviously has no religious qualms—about the Haims’ unconventional ways to afford the funeral. However, he does explain what he’ll be doing in the meantime.

“Instead, I will remain in Los Angeles quietly mourning and planning his memorial,” he continues. “As a sign of respect, I am asking the media to honor Corey Haim by making the same choice. I am working with a few people who were close to Corey to put a memorial together within the next month. At that time, the media will be invited to honor and celebrate the legacy he has left behind, along with friends, fans and the rest of the Hollywood community.”

The folks footing a majority of the bill for the Toronto funeral, celebrity memorabilia site Startifacts.com, tell E! News they were invited to experience the sad ceremony with the family, but declined because they didn’t feel it would be appropriate.

Meanwhile, Haim’s rep says the Los Angeles memorial event will take place around April 2.

It sounds like Haim’s family has some sort of beef with Feldman, who could be pitching a reality show or some sort of “documentary” of his life in wake of Haim’s death. This is pure conjecture on my part, but given that Feldman is holding his own memorial, and that he’s starred in several reality shows, it’s not that much of a stretch. He went on Larry King Live right after Haim’s death and his estranged wife gave several interviews to Radar discussing Haim’s drug problem. Even if Feldman isn’t planning to film Haim’s memorial, the family may hold a legitimate grudge against him for doing so much press in the wake of Corey’s death.

Corey Feldman’s wife files for divorce

wenn2098346
Corey Feldman’s sort-of long suffering wife, Susannah, has filed for divorce after seven years of marriage. The couple has a five year old son together, named Zen. Their marriage ceremony was shown on the first season of VH1′s The Surreal Life, aired in 2003, where Feldman was a castmember at the time.

Corey Feldman’s wife, Susannah, filed for divorce last week after seven years of marriage, citing the nondescript irreconcilable differences as the reason for splitting up.
She wants legal and physical custody of their 5-year-old son, Zen, and for Feldman to pay spousal and child support. She wants her ex to have visitation rights, according to the petition filed Oct. 22 in Los Angeles Superior Court.

This was Feldman’s second marriage.

Perhaps life had just gotten too, well, surreal for Susannah since wedding her hubby on the set of The Surreal Life in 2002, nine months after they met at a club.

“Six years together and we’re still in love,” Feldman, 38, told People in 2007. He also credited his wife and son with helping him break free of a spiral of depression and substance abuse.

“Whereas I used to get depressed or neurotic or dwell on things, I see my son’s bright eyes and smile in the morning, and suddenly, I don’t feel like I’m depressed anymore,” he said. “There’s nothing to be depressed about when you’ve got that.”

[From E! Online]

I watched this tool on the Surreal Life and he was insufferable. He picked fights with people constantly and often bragged about all the money he made as a child star, which he managed to squander. I thought that Susie was a fan who got in touch with Corey, as I think I remember her talking about it on The Surreal Life. People reports that they met in a bar, though. Whatever happened, I’m just surprised they lasted as long as they did. Feldman has a lot of growing up to do and Susannah probably realized that she only wanted to deal with one little kid’s drama.

The two Coreys claim they were both molested

The Two Coreys season premiere got explosive last night, with both Coreys admitting that they’d been molested or raped by different men at different times as young teenagers. The two appear to be in some type of emotional standoff with one another, as they face each other down and almost appear to try to one-up each other for the sake of drama and attention.

Corey Haim says he was raped by a friend of Corey Feldman’s, and seems to accuse Feldman both of knowing about it and possibly even witnessing something. The obvious conclusion/speculation is that Haim is talking about Michael Jackson, who Feldman was friends with in his early teens. Feldman also publicly supported Jackson during his first molestation trial. During Jackson’s second trial, he admitted that Michael had shown him some naked pictures as a teenager.

Feldman counters Haim by saying he was molested and accuses Haim of never talking to him about it. There’s some confusing back and forth between the two as they trade accusations about talking to each other while they were sleeping or some such thing. It appears like what they’re saying is legitimate, but they’re so dramatic in their discussion that it comes off as a little contrived.
