A few months ago Paris Hilton broke up with Benji “the love of her life” Madden because he was preventing her from partying as much as she wanted. Some people said Benji was a control freak, but Paris parties every single night. Asking her to stay home once in a while doesn’t seem that ridiculous to me. Anyway, though she claimed to have an eternal, deep, undying love for him, Paris chose a state of constant drunken debauchery over a nice guy. Which says a lot about her. But now there’s rumors she wants him back, after hearing that Benji had hooked up with singer Katy Perry.

Jealous Paris Hilton wants her ex-boyfriend Benji Madden back after seeing him hit it off with another sexy celeb. The hotel heiress – who split from the Good Charlotte rock star last November – has admitted she is still in love with Benji after seeing pictures of him spending Valentine’s Day with US singer Katy Perry.

A source said: “Paris still has very strong feelings for Benji and seeing those pictures has really hurt her – especially as they were taken so close to her birthday. She is determined to get Benji back and she is not going to let anyone or anything stand in her way.” Benji and Katy spent the romantic day together in Las Vegas, although the ‘Hot n Cold’ singer has since insisted they are just good friends.

She said “It’s two pseudo-famous people sitting next to each other – it doesn’t mean we were bumping uglies! You know I don’t just do that with anyone! I was there celebrating a really fun show and a boozy Valentine’s Day with all my good friends. We were like a group of 25! … Benji is a nice young fellow, but my heart really belongs to my cat.”

Shortly after Paris separated from Benji, the blonde socialite admitted she still had strong feelings for the musician. Paris (28) said “He’s my best friend. Katy obviously denied that anything was going on, but I’m not sure I believe that. It seems like celebs feel obligated to say that until they’re practically married.

Nonetheless, I hope there’s no chance in hell Benji considers getting back with Paris. He can do much, much better. If nothing else, it seems like their lifestyles weren’t really compatible. Sure he’s famous and goes out often enough, but it appears like he’s still somewhat levelheaded about it. Paris is sober for less than three hours of the day. It doesn’t matter the day of the week, where she is in the world, or what else is going on – she is at a club. Even sneaking into (and getting thrown out of) them on occasion. These two just have no chance in the long run.

And really, what sensible man would possibly want to end up with Paris long-term anyway? If I were a guy I’d pick Katy Perry over her any day.

Extra! has a video interview (link leads to video) with the male stars of the upcoming film He’s Just Not That Into You, and like their femal co-stars you can tell they have a great camaraderie and have fun together. Ben Affleck, Justin Long, Kevin Connolly and Bradley Cooper joked around and laughed at some of the questions, with married man Affleck and known ladies man Connolly giving the most revealing answers when it comes to how they use modern technology to keep in touch with the opposite sex:

Affleck admitted he keeps in touch with wife Jennifer Garner via text message — and that’s how Jen keeps the father of two in check! “I correspond with my wife that way,” Ben said, laughing. “She’s like, ‘Get over here. Pick this s*** up! It’s time for you to go get our daughter!’”

Ben didn’t initially raise his hand when asked if he was romantic, but later admits he’s a sucker for romance. “I’m definitely romantic. I didn’t raise my hand because I didn’t want to be the guy who started talking about how romantic he was on TV. I wanted to dodge that bullet and I did dodge it.”

Co-star Kevin Connolly chimed in when the conversation turned to breaking up — using modern technology! When the men were asked if it’s okay to end things via text message, the “Entourage” star joked, “Oh yeah. That’s the best way.”

As for playing hard to get, Justin Long exclaimed, “Yeah, Connolly does. You play the game.” Kevin responded, “I don’t play hard to get. I’m very easy to get.”

It’s hard to tell from the video if Connolly is saying that text messaging is the best way to break up or keep in touch. Hopefully he’s at least sort-of joking if he says it’s the best way to break up. Have you ever called it off with someone in a text message or e-mail or been the recipient of one? It seems cruel to say the last, but it’s certainly easier for the dumper if not the dumpee.

This movie looks like a lot of fun even though it’s likely to be predictable. I enjoy films that are made up of a lot of different stories pieced together, even if they can feel rushed – like Love Actually – they’re often worth seeing.

Britney Spears’ dad may be doing his best to keep a virtual chastity belt around her, but according to the Mirror, Britney’s now dating her choreographer. Sandip Soparrkar came up with the seductive moves for Britney’s “Womanizer” routine – you know, the one she’s been recycling over and over again for TV shows around the world over the last month. We all worried Britney wasn’t able to successfully perform more than one routine, but maybe it’s her preference for the choreographer that’s keeping her moves the same.

Brit and Sandip even spent Christmas together in his native India – which explains why we’ve seen so little of her lately.

Britney Spears has dated some fast movers and now she’s been swept off her feet by another – a Bollywood dance instructor. The Toxic star has been seeing Sandip Soparrkar, who choreographed her raunchy Womanizer video. Britney, 27, even flew to Jodhpur for a romantic three-day Christmas break with Sandip who is a pin-up in his native India.

The couple, who have been dating for three weeks, exchanged homemade pressies under the tree. Our source reveals: “It’s early days but their romance is going from strength to strength. Britney and Sandip tried to keep their reunion in India hush-hush as they’re determined to have a relationship just like any other couple. Sandip is very down to earth and keeps Britney grounded. He’s also quite spiritual and sensitive, which is a side of him she adores.

“For Christmas, Sandip – or Sandy as Britney calls him – presented her with a traditional Indian sari. She wore it during a candlelit dinner. The pair were whispering and giggling all night. Sandy ordered local delicacies including chicken tikka and a cottage cheese curry. Britney was nicking the dough balls from his plate. It was really cute.”

Britney, who met Sandip at a party thrown by Madonna earlier this year, is spending the New Year back in LA. And Sandy may jet over to see in 2009 with her. Her latest love is a far cry from her badboy exes, who include ex hubby Kevin Federline, Brit snapper Adnan Ghalib and Irish playboy Colin Farrell. In contrast, the only bad habit clean-cut Sandy is passing on to Britney is a love of sugar. The smitten star took home 3kg of churma – Indian nutmeg cakes – for her two sons. Ahh, how sweet!

Woah, hold up. A love of sugar? That’s almost as dangerous to Britney as all those other “bad habits” she picked up from former loves. I mean we can all guess what kind of addictions K-Fed introduced her to, but we’re just guessing. We’ve got solid evidence of Brit’s sugar issues, in the form of a million discarded grande frappuccino cups. I’m sorry, but I consider these nutmeg cakes just as dangerous as if he’d handed her a crack pipe.

Jokes aside, from the Mirror’s description Sandip sounds pretty good. But the fact that Britney’s attracted to him makes me wonder what sort of drama he’s hidden behind the scenes. She seems to feed off that. Hopefully Brit’s making better decisions in both life and love, and if things get serious it’ll turn out Sandip’s a good guy.

Since her breakup with Apple spokesman/ geeky cute guy Justin Long, actress Drew Barrymore has bounced from guy to guy. She was last seen making out with “Gossip Girl” actor Ed Westwick at a Kings of Leon concert, but that seemed like more of a publicity stunt than anything else. Now it looks like Drew is getting chummy with another young actor. Drew was spotted singing karaoke and getting touchy-feely with “How I Met Your Mother” and “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” star Jason Segel. TMZ has a video of the pair singing “Rainbow Connection” from The Muppet Movie. I’ll say this: they’re no Kermit the Frog.

“They’re just friends,” Elayne Roberts – a club performer who sat with them that night – told Us. But a source said, “They’re friends with a little benefits,” adding, “It’s not serious.”

Not bad, but my karaoke version of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” is far superior! Seriously, though, a Drew-Jason pairing could be a good match. But then, I thought the Drew-Justin pairing was adorable. I wonder if she’ll ever settle down. Britney Spears is really amping up the interviews in preparation for the December 2nd release of her next album, “Circus.” She had a long chat with Rolling Stone – who described the ordeal of interviewing her as a “rigorously micromanaged process.” Britney’s obviously trying to get some positive press and get the media to cover her in a more flattering light. Part of this involves discussing and explaining the past, which must feel awkward for her.

Britney seemed pretty candid in the interview. She talked about the struggles of dating, because she always needs to have security around her. So if she goes out with a guy and it turns out she’s not into him, Britney can’t make the graceful emergency exit the rest of us can.

[Manager Larry] Rudolph says, “Her job is to be Britney Spears, and unfortunately, that job bleeds into her personal life and creates this odd situation where she needs to have security people around her all the time.”

That goes for dates, too. Recently, Spears was accompanied by her assistant, Brett, and Rudolph’s colleague, Adam Leber. “Right when we got there, we just knew it was just bad,” Spears says. “He looked like an older version of Harry Potter, but skinnier. … So I had to get dessert first. And the other date I had, the guy was really, really tall and a lot older. … We’re trying to ask him questions, like, ‘OK, you’re into martial arts, so what kind of martial arts are you into?’ And he was like, ‘Oh, all kinds.’ … But you know how silly we are, so we were just cracking up.”

I imagine that going on a date with Britney Spears would be pretty nerve-wracking as it is. Having chaperones and security people around must make it feel like a job interview. I’m not sure I could come up with much to say either if I were in that situation. Celebitchy is wondering if the guy Britney was describing is Salvatore D’Angelo, who she went out on a date with last week. That could make sense except that in my opinion this guy is seriously hot, and could never legitimately be described as “Harry Potter, but skinnier.” He could be the second guy she’s referring to, but he doesn’t seem that much older than Britney. It sounds like she’s getting set up on dates since she appears to be surprised by the guys.

Britney also says that Sean Preston has said the F word and both of her kids are saying words like “stupid” – and that they learned them from K-Fed.

She turns serious on the topic of her children. Despite losing custody of her sons, Preston, 3, and Jayden, 2, to her ex-husband Kevin Federline, Spears has been able to see them more often, thanks in part to the conservatorship.

“Every time they come to visit me, I think about how they’re such special people,” she says.

She is critical of her ex and says the children “are starting to learn words like ‘stupid,’ and Preston says the f-word now sometimes. He doesn’t get it from us. He must get it from his daddy. I say it, but not around my kids.”

Kids legendarily pick up on the naughty words as much as the good ones. Just saying it once or twice but reacting in a certain way tips them off. I doubt Britney is able to completely keep herself from saying the F word around her kids but use it elsewhere. It’s bound to slip out a time or two if she uses it at all. But I’m all for blaming K-Fed; we hardly ever get to say anything bad about him anymore.

Britney has her entire album streaming on her website, which is a really unusual move. You can listen to all of it here. I tried… it’s a little repetitive for me. But considering all the hype and publicity, I’m guessing it’ll still sell really well.

Sienna Miller is drowning her Balthazar Getty breakup sorrows by making out with actor Josh Hartnett – whom she was caught snogging on a “private date” last week. This is the second time the pair have been seen out on the town together since her breakup with the married father of four. Josh has been previously linked to Kirsten Dunst, Rihanna, and Scarlett Johansson.

Josh Hartnett was reportedly spotted enjoying another intimate evening in London with British star Sienna Miller – fuelling rumours they are dating.

Hartnett is currently living in the English capital while he stars in the new West End production of Rain Man.

The pair is said to have enjoyed a secret date last week (beg10Nov08) at the exclusive Shoreditch House members’ bar in East London, according to The London Paper.A source tells the publication, “They definitely looked like a couple – and a good looking one at that! At one point, they were holding hands across the table, but they quickly hid them underneath. They looked really cosy as they dined, gazing into each other’s eyes, smiling and laughing. They continued talking and drinking until very late into the evening – there was definitely a buzz in the air.”

The pair was previously spotted together two weeks ago at an event in West London, shortly after Miller confirmed her recent split from married actor Balthazar Getty, who she began dating in June (08).

If this pairing sounds familiar, it’s because they were linked to each other back in 2007 when Hartnett had just stopped dating Scarlett and Miller was between married men. Maybe she’s dated so many actors she’s starting to repeat herself. Britney Spears may be trying to get publicity for more than just being a good girl and getting her life together. The Sun thinks that Britney went on a date with British comedian Russell Brand – and she very well may have. The two were spotted at the same restaurant on the same night at the same time – but of course came and left separately, so there’s no way to know.

The comedian just happened to be having dinner in the same restaurant, on the same night as the pop princess. Russell and Britney were snapped leaving The Little Door Restaurant in LA – separately of course.

Britney is on the comeback trail and a little fling with the man of the moment in America would thrust her right back into the limelight. She has been dating her bodyguard Lee, a former Israeli soldier, so Russell should tread carefully.

And Russell is back on the prowl after telling snappers earlier in the evening that he was ‘footloose and fancy free’ after ending his three month relationship with gorgeous Australian actress TERESA PALMER.

Russ and Brit certainly hit it off at the weekend. Stranger things have happened…

It’s cute that they think Russell Brand is “the man of the moment in America.” I think he’s just “less unknown than he used to be in America.” Of course that doesn’t sound quite so sexy and likely to entice Britney. But I don’t think they’re being misinformed about Russell’s popularity means that they’re misinformed about everything. Brand is edgy without being a blatant risk in terms of Brit’s reputation – which I think she probably takes pretty seriously now, considering how hard she’s worked the last few months. And while it’d be an odd and rather humorous pairing, I doubt it’d damage her popularity like K-Fed or paparazzo Adnan Ghalib.

I think it’d be best if she stayed away from guys and just focused on her kids and career for a while. But rarely does Britney do what I ask. And Brand seems like an okay choice for her – nothing spectacular either way.

There are a few hypothetical celebrity couplings the very idea of which is so horrendous that it’s actually immediately transferred from the conscious, to the subconscious, to the unconscious, and then just thrown the hell away. Freud wrote about it. Something like “gross the hell out” complex. And the best example I can give of it is the idea of Michael Jackson dating Pamela Anderson. Which really is… stop it, keep it in your conscious mind now… happening according to the Daily Mirror.

We really shouldn’t be surprised at anything when it comes to Michael Jackson. But we have to admit we were shocked when we found out he’d been on a string of dates with Pamela Anderson. The odd couple seem to have bonded over their love of plastic surgery and have been hooking up in Malibu.

We hear the big-boobed babe is a massive fan of Michael… and it seems the feeling is mutual. A source said: “It was all arranged by their people in total secrecy, very cloak and dagger. Michael is such a private person. He gets nervous when he thinks people are following him around, so he chose somewhere neutral for their first date. They arrived separately at the Shutters Hotel on Malibu Beach so no one would suspect anything and then had a few drinks in the bar.”

The pair requested a hidden area in the corner – for two reasons. Firstly, it shielded them from any prying eyes. And second, it would have protected them from the dangerous melting effects of the Californian sunshine. After all, there’s a fine line between looking hot and having a runny, bubbling face. Our source went on: “They were very chatty. Pamela was being her usual flirty self and Michael seemed to be responding. They are such a strange couple but they seemed to really hit it off.”

So much so Michael plucked up the courage to ask Pammy out on a second date. And she was more than happy to accept.

This is one of those rumors I’d clearly call bullshit on if it were about any two people besides Pamela Anderson and Michael Jackson. These two crave ridiculous, improbable levels of drama the way the rest of us need protein and vitamins. It is absolutely essential to their existence. We don’t hear much about Winona Ryder anymore. Every since her shoplifting conviction a few years ago the actress has pretty much stayed under the Hollywood radar. She’s shown up to the appropriate events here and there so as not to become totally irrelevant, but she’s certainly not an “it” girl anymore. And though she’s got a few decent sounding movies coming up, it appears Winona seems to think her life has sunk a lot deeper than it has, because she’s indulged in one of the lowest forms of desperation known to womankind: she’s dating Tom Green.

Movie beauty Winona Ryder has found love with Drew Barrymore’s comedian ex-husband Tom Green, according to reports.

The pair was spotted cuddling up at a Hollywood bar last week (13Au08), and pals insist an odd romance is blossoming – just weeks after Ryder split with rocker boyfriend Blake Sennett.

A source tells the National Enquirer, “Winona didn’t waste any time. She and Tom were all over each other, laughing and carrying on.”

Green was married to Barrymore from 2001 to 2002. Ryder has a long list of exes, including Johnny Depp, Christian Slater, Dave Grohl, Dave Pirner and David Duchovny.

When I think of athletes getting into hot water, I think of out-of-wedlock babies, general debauchery, and dog fighting. Rarely do I think of cereal. But that’s exactly the controversy record-setting Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps finds himself in. Phelps has signed a contract to appear on the front of both Frosted Flakes and Corn Flakes boxes – a move that has got him in a lot of trouble. Why? Well mostly it’s because he’s scored the traditional Wheaties box. Oh and because of sugar.

Five out of five dentists say Michael Phelps is all wet — when it comes to his choice of breakfast cereal.

Health experts are going nuts because Mikey likes Frosted Flakes, and is going to be on the FF box rather than a Wheaties box, like pretty much every other big-shot athlete. They’re all up in arms because Flakes has three times as much sugar as Wheaties and only a fraction of the fiber. Not so grrrrrreat after all?!

I agree that sugar is the devil (at least for a lot of people, myself included) but let the guy do what he wants. I’m pretty sure he’s allowed to be on the box of donuts if that’s what he chooses to do. Phelps is also supposedly not a fan of Wheaties and actually wants his image to endorse something he does like and eats. What a novel concept.

Michael has also been the subject of much internet gossip of late. Everyone wants to know who he’s dating, and for some reason it’s been narrowed down to Olympic swimmer Amanda Beard or British model Lily Donaldson. I’m not quite sure why these two women are the most frequently mentioned, but I think it’s pretty safe that we can rule Beard out.

Beard, who has bared all for Playboy and appears in a sexy ad for PETA, also said she has never even kissed the 14-time Olympic gold-medallist [sic]. “Come on, I have really good taste,” the sexy swimmer said. “He’s really not my type.” Asked how the poolside rumors made their way into London’s Daily Telegraph, Beard said she had no clue. “We don’t even talk to each other,” she said of her relationship with Phelps.

When “Extra” asked Phelps in an interview that aired last night if he was dating Beard, Phelps said, “No. I’m not dating Amanda Beard. I’ll say that,” he told the TV show. “I think she has a boyfriend.”

Beard later clarified that she was joking around about the “Eww” thing and she and Michael are just friends. Lily Donaldson’s reps haven’t responded to the rumors, so I guess there’s a possibility there. Phelps himself has said he keeps his private life private, and only a few friends know who he’s dating and that’s how it’s going to stay. And by that, he means he’s dating me. Sorry to disappoint.
