David Arquette on Oprah: stole pot at 8, seriously started drinking at 12

wenn3104023

David Arquette will appear on Oprah today in his first televised interview post rehab. Advanced details and clips reveal that he will be talking about his lifelong struggle with drugs and alcohol, which began for him at a very early age. E! Online has a longer clip montage (below) in which Arquette reveals that he first tried alcohol at four, stole pot from his dad at eight, and was “seriously drinking” by 12. He’s supposedly been sober since January, when he went to rehab after an intervention from his estranged wife Courteney Cox and his sister, Patricia Arquette.

Fresh off his stint in rehab, David Arquette is ready to come clean about his alcohol and drug-riddled past.

Sober since December 29, the 39-year-old Scream 4 actor opens up to Oprah Winfrey during a Thursday appearance on her daytime talk show (check your local listings).

“When I had my first drink of beer, I must have been four-years-old,” he tells Winfrey, 57. “I was down in the basement with my dad and beer was there and I just grabbed it and drank it. And I remember that. It’s one of my earliest memories.”

That’s not all. “I seriously started drinking probably when I was about 12,” Arquette reveals. “I stole pot from my father when I was eight years old.”

According to the actor, he voluntarily checked into rehab on January 2 at the insistence of his sister, Patricia Arquette, and his estranged wife, Courteney Cox (with whom he shares a six-year-old daughter, Coco).

“I came back from Miami and I had taken a nap. I woke up and Patricia and Courteney were at my bed,” he recalls. “Courteney had a cup of coffee. I was like, ‘What are you two doing here together?’ I already knew.”

“Courteney’s like, ‘Do you mind coming out to the living room for a minute?’ I said, ‘Sure, let me get dressed.’ I put on this white outfit and came out. I peeked my head out [I saw] and my best friend Hartwell and my business partner and some guy I don’t know. I go ‘What up, Turkeys? I guess this is my intervention!’”

Since seeking treatment, a source tells UsMagazine.com that Arquette and Cox, 46, “are still great friends and getting along really well.

[From US Weekly]

David didn’t look sober to me in those clips, but that must be due to the kind of goofy guy he is. His personality probably helped him keep his addiction hidden for a long time. I just want to give him a hug and make him a nice dinner and tell him it’s all going to be ok. He must elicit that response from a lot of women, and he told Howard Stern during one of his epic overshare interviews that Courteney was sick of mothering him. I’m interested to see this interview and to hear how he explains his separation with Courteney to Oprah. He’s already revealed most of the details of their split, and he’s been gracious about it in his way. He hasn’t trash talked or blamed Courteney at all, and has come across as a sad sack who talks too much, but a guy who is trying and is at least sober now. It sounds like he has a good relationship with Courtney, but I doubt they’ll get back together romantically. I have a feeling that Courteney is still pretty content in her new relationship with costar Brian Van Holt.

David Arquette checks into rehab for alcohol, broken heart

fp_6099003_arquette_david_b
David Arquette went out partying for New Year’s Eve and then checked into rehab the very next day. I guess we know what his resolution is. Arquette’s been boozing constantly and giving weepy hungover tell all interviews to Howard Stern since his marriage with Courteney Cox went south. He’s also been leaking stories about how much he wants his family back while being photographed with cocktail waitresses in bikinis. Now he’s ready to get serious about sobriety and earning Courtney’s respect. He’s checked into rehab at an undisclosed location, with a source telling People that he’s getting treatment for alcohol dependence and “dealing with a broken heart.” This is pretty much exactly what Arquette told Stern a couple of weeks ago.

The actor, who separated from wife Courteney Cox in October, has entered a rehab program, his rep confirms to PEOPLE.

The rep had “no further information,” however a source says the actor needs help with alcohol and other issues.

“He is in there for drinking and depression, not hard drugs. Rehab was inevitable,” says the source. “He is dealing with a broken heart. He can’t handle all the changes in his life. All his inner demons came out.”

During a recent interview on Howard Stern’s radio show, Arquette, 39, said that his psychologist, whom he sees once a week, believed he was having a “nervous breakdown,” and the actor confessed he’d been “drinking a lot.”

“Everybody’s worried and concerned about me,” he added during the interview. “When I drink, I become a maniac.”

A source told PEOPLE recently that Arquette, who is dad to 6-year-daugher Coco with Cox, 46, was having trouble managing the separation.

“He’s just not handling this situation well,” the source said. “He’s really depressed.

[From People]

Courteney has issued a statement to People about David going to rehab. She said “I really admire David and his choice to take charge and better his life. I love and support him.” I doubt she’ll get back with him after he gets out. His sobriety might go a long way toward healing his pain, though. Drinking and partying like that only makes things worse.

I really feel for the guy, but I also get why Courteney wanted out. Sure she’s probably sleeping with that co-star guy who plays her ex husband on Cougar Town, but maybe she just couldn’t take it with David anymore and was trying to make it easy on him. It obviously isn’t, and the holidays must have been a tough time for him. Get well, David!

Courteney Cox sends mixed signals to her lover & estranged husband

fp_6382143_coxcourteney_cocoxmaseve_fp6_12_14

These are photos of Courteney Cox and her daughter Coco on Christmas Eve, in West Hollywood. So… I guess she didn’t fly to Cabo with Brian Van Holt after all…? Well, the signals are definitely mixed. In these photos, Cox is wearing her wedding ring, apparently for the first time in months. Also, Court brought Coco as her “date” for a Christmas Eve party. However, according to E! News’ Marc Malkin, Cox and Van Holt were definitely couple-y the night before at yet another Christmas party:

Courteney Cox and her Cougar Town costar Brian Van Holt don’t give a hoot what people think their relationship is or isn’t. In fact, they were inseparable the other night at the show’s holiday party…

A source tells me that they didn’t show any outward signs of being more than just friends, but “Courteney and Brian pretty much stuck together the majority of the evening.”

Cox watched Van Holt play costar Josh Hopkins in air-hockey. Then Van Holt cheered Cox on during her game against Hopkins.

The three-hour bash took place on the Cougar Town soundstage and featured Bacardi drinks, a snow cone machine and In N’ Out and Border Grill food trucks.

Cox’s estranged hubby, David Arquette, has said he believes she and Van Holt have been having an “emotional affair.”

“There definitely wasn’t any hand-holding or kissing,” the partygoing source said. “But they did stay and stand together for most of the party.”

[From E! News]

Yeah, I think Courteney is manipulating the situation, biding her time until she and Van Holt “come out” as an official couple. David Arquette is gumming up the works however, by being so obviously devastated with their split. If only he wasn’t so obviously up for reconciliation, Courteney could have thrown him under the proverbial bus and already “rolled out” her new relationship. Just my opinion.

Also my opinion? Courteney stayed in town because she had some last-minute Christmas plastic surgery. Look at that face and tell me she’s aging naturally.

David Arquette talks openly about his post-split nervous breakdown

wenn3105565

David Arquette has been looking rough for a while now – even before he and Courteney Cox announced their split (when they were separated, but had yet to tell people), David seemed out of sorts, and like he reverted back to his hard-partying, bachelor ways. Since he and Cox announced the split, it’s gotten worse. From the TMI with Howard Stern, to the admissions about sex with club girl Jasmine Waltz, to the drunken nights with midgets, to the drunken nights with club girls, David has been a mess. Anyway, on Wednesday, David went on Howard Stern AGAIN, and this time, David talked openly about how he’s in the midst of a nervous breakdown:

David Arquette is losing it — just ask him. During another rambling, painfully honest radio appearance on the Howard Stern Show Wednesday — his third since his split from Courteney Cox — Arquette, 39, admitted he’s on shaky ground indeed.

Even the unflappable Howard Stern was concerned. “Are you having a nervous breakdown?” the shock jock asked. “I believe so,” a raspy-voiced Arquette replied.

During his one-hour chat, Arquette said that “everybody is worried and concerned about me,” and that he’s seeing a psychiatrist weekly.

He admitted he’s been partying pretty hard — especially at a recent holiday party hosted by Adam Sandler, in which he drunkenly called Tom Cruise “Sean.” “I was a little wasted,” Arquette says. “Someone says ‘Hi David!’, and I said, ‘Hi Sean! Then I realized it was Tom Cruise. And his beautiful wife [Katie Holmes] was there.”

Cruise wasn’t offended, Arquette said. “Tom was cool about it…I was so embarrassed. I was like ‘I gotta get the f*** out of here.’”

Why the heavy drinking? “I’ve been drinking a lot because I’m heartbroken,” he said. “It’s really a personal, traumatic thing.”

But he added that he had a “semi religious” epiphany recently: “When I drink, I become a maniac.” Arquette said he’s not drinking at all anymore. “When you wake up and reality hits you, it’s hard.”

As he’s said before, his estranged wife Cox, 46, “didn’t want to be my mother. But I kind of need a mother.”

He’s lonely, too. “I want love in my life,” he said. “I need love in my life.”

The father to Coco, 6, wants more kids — and he wishes the mom could be his ex girlfriend Drew Barrymore. “I know she is with Justin Long and everything, but would cool would an Arquette-Barrymore child be?” he said. “From a pure breeding standpoint.”

He put another obscure rumor to rest: “I [am] not messing around with Kelly Osbourne.”

[From Us Weekly]

Jesus. I know I should be all “He should get some serious help” and honestly, he should. But part of me also thinks this is just his post-split phase, something he needs to just get out his system. Courteney is off boning Brian Van Holt, and David has (slowly) come to the realization that she left their marriage NOT because of something he did or didn’t do, but because she just wanted to bone other dudes. And this is devastating to David. I hope it’s just a phase – and I agree with him, that he’s probably the kind of guy who needs to be in a relationship, and that he needs to be “mothered” (“nurtured”) by the woman in his life. That happens… and there are a lot of guys like that. And David and Drew Barrymore isn’t the worst idea. Think about it, Drew.

David Arquette was a drunken mess last night

Actor David Arquette arrives at the GQ Magazine 2010 Men of the Year party in Hollywood, California, November 17, 2010. REUTERS/Fred Prouser (UNITED STATES - Tags: ENTERTAINMENT)

Last night, GQ threw their annual “Men of the Year” bash. All of the Men showed up, plus a few others who were not specifically honored. Like David Arquette. According to Page Six, David was so thirsty (for booze) he climbed through a window at the Chateau Marmont to get a drink.

David Arquette was eager to get to the bar at the GQ Men of the Year Awards at the Chateau Marmont in LA. A spy said he climbed through a window to fetch a drink, cutting his distance to the bar by half. Nearby, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino continued to milk his 15 minutes as he posed for photos with guests, including Anna Faris and Johnny Knoxville. James Franco cut out early to catch a red-eye, leaving honorees Drake, Kid Rock,”Glee” actor Chris Colfer, Jesse Eisenberg, Landon Donovan, Mark Ruffalo and Jimmy Kimmel.

[From Page Six]

Not horrible in and of itself, especially since I am unfamiliar with the layout of the Marmont, and I have no idea if they have those large, nearly floor to ceiling windows that you’re almost supposed to climb through. Or are those just in Southern mansions? Anyway, it’s not bad – until you get to Radar’s story (with this sketchy photo, at Radar) – David drunkenly grinding on some club girl at Voyeur.

Now, I get it. David is going through a rough time, and I get the feeling that he just doesn’t know what to do with himself post-maybe-split with Courteney. I’ve just been getting a “little boy lost” from all stories about David lately. I wish he wouldn’t even need to go through this phase where he’s “the cool guy at the club.” Just sack up and file for divorce, spend some time alone, learning how to be a single dad, and then go find yourself a nice girl who isn’t going to emasculate you to within an inch of your life.

Here are some photos of David by the end of his evening:

David Arquette’s mistress Jasmine Waltz “tells all”

ls

Life & Style just sent us this exclusive photo of David Arquette with Jasmine Waltz, the girl he has admitted to sleeping with twice (I think). I believe the photo was taken at a post office? How romantic? Anyway, David talked to Stern about the brief relationship with Jasmine, saying that after the mess with Courteney Cox, in which she suggested that they separate and see other people, David says he went out and boned this waitress. Jasmine has been milking this association for all it’s worth, even getting herself pap’d and giving quotes to various outlets. Life & Style sat down with her for her first sit-down interview:

Speaking on the record for the first time since news of her romance with David Arquette broke, Jasmine Waltz sits down ONLY with LIFE & STYLE spilling details on their sexual encounters PLUS her revealing conversations with David about his split with Courteney Cox.

Jasmine Waltz, waitress and model, first met David on Sept. 30th when he and a group of friends showed up at Premiere nightclub, where Jasmine was working. Within 20 minutes of meeting her, David revealed that he and wife Courteney Cox had separated.

“I was surprised to hear that,” Jasmine tells Life & Style. “But his friends all seemed to know about it.” However, she says David seemed agitated and depressed about the split. “He was beaten down. He mentioned that he hadn’t slept with anyone since separating from Courteney.”

Just two nights later, David went back to the nightclub and after her shift ended, he took her to a house party. They both got very drunk, Jasmine says, and left the party around 2:30 a.m. Talking and strolling, they ended up at a Hollywood home — David told Jasmine it was the house he and his siblings had grown up in. Once they were alone, David was intent on having sex.

“It wasn’t bad sex,” she tells Life & Style, “but it wasn’t emotional. It was quick and painless. Nothing exciting.” She continues, “When we were done, he just looked at me and said, ‘This is the first time I’ve felt like a man in a very long time.’”

Jasmine says it wasn’t just a one-time thing, she and David had sex again.

But she was adamant about making sure he was telling the truth about the split before sleeping with him. David assured her he was single and opened up to her about what had caused the split.

“I definitely got the impression that Courteney had made the decision to separate,” Jasmine recalls. “David did not seem like the one in control of the situation. Not at all.”

[From Life & Style]

Sure. I tend to believe that Courteney instigated the separation, and I’m still holding on my theory that it wasn’t so much that Courteney and David were having problems together, it was that Courteney had a problem with David because she wanted to bone her costar, Brian Van Holt.

Here are some more photos of Jasmine… I swear to God, she has Megan Fox’s 2008 Face.

Courteney Cox on David Arquette split: ‘this is not like we’re getting divorced’

The 2010 Crystal + Lucy Awards held at The Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Century City, California on June 1st, 2010. Courteney Cox Fame Pictures, Inc
Courteney Cox has a new interview with TV Week [via People.com] in which she talks candidly about her separation from her husband of 11 years, David Arquette. It’s surprising to me how open Courteney is and how accepting she seems to be of David’s two tell all interviews with Howard Stern. She tells TV Week that she’s separated from David and that “this is not like we’re getting a divorce.” She also says that she didn’t find David’s two stints on Howard Stern “shocking” at all and that she’s a fan of the show. I’m impressed with how she’s handling everything, and it sounds like she’s not ruling out a reconciliation.

Courteney Cox is speaking out for the first time about her split with husband David Arquette.

“I don’t know what will happen, but this is not like we’re getting divorced,” Cox says in a new interview with TV Week. “This is a separation and I think that takes a lot of courage . . . Whatever is supposed to happen will be the best thing for us.”

Still, Cox acknowledges that she and her husband of 11 years are no longer on the same page. “Sometimes you just realize ‘Wow, we actually have grown apart,” she says.

Referring to an interview that Arquette did with radio host Howard Stern, which aired right after their split was announced (and for which he later apologized), Cox said, “[David] is a kook. It’s not shocking and Howard Stern he loves him and I’m a fan of Howard Stern . . . David is an entertainer and I’m sure the people who listen to the radio are entertained by his stories.”

While her husband – who said the couple were going to take their daughter Coco, 6, trick or treating this Halloween weekend – was talking to Stern, Cox was apparently leaning on her best Friends costar, Jennifer Aniston.

“We just have fun, we laugh, we’re inseparable and it’s great,” Cox says. “It’s funny, a lot of really close friends are kind of going through this right now or like Jennifer [who] has gone through it. I don’t know what’s going on in the planets or what, but things are being shaken up and I don’t know what’s going to happen, but, yeah, Jennifer has been amazing for sure.”

[From People]

While David admitted hooking up with two different women during the separation, he still says he wants Courteney back and loves her. I bet that Courteney called time out in order to be able to date that costar she’s been seen out with. Maybe she has mixed feelings about everything and is just trying to see what happens. They have a daughter Coco, 6, and probably want to give it a chance for their family’s sake. You know, I kind of feel for them all. I don’t ever remember a celebrity divorce where we were privy to this much information about it, and it really just serves to humanize them. People break up and it sucks and sometimes it’s no one’s fault.

David told reporters that he planned to go trick or treating on Sunday with Courteney and Coco. On Friday, he attended a party dressed as Elvis.

David Arquette is honest, unhinged with Howard Stern – again

wenn3053278

David Arquette went to Howard Stern’s show AGAIN. For the second time in a month, since David and Courteney Cox announced their split. David says at the beginning at the interview that the first time he came on, he told the truth and everyone got mad. Howard also says to David that he feels bad about the first call and all the stuff about what was said. Like his admission that he nailed that Jasmine Waltz broad. In this interview that David criticizes Jasmine as being a “clown” who “should sew up her vagina” (for real). His point is that “everyone is out for the hustle” and these girls are just looking to nail a famous guy and sell their story. He has stuff to say about Gloria Allred too (ha), and stuff about the state of his relationship with Courteney (the audio is really NSFW, just FYI):

David Arquette returned to the scene of the crime Wednesday – The Howard Stern Show – where the easygoing actor emotionally vented once again about his break-up with Courteney Cox earlier this month.

Stern, like last time, got the dirt out of the Scream star, who admitted he’s hooked up with another woman since the split with Cox – a sexy blonde Australian. (As we previously reported, the first girl he slept with was bartender Jasmine Waltz, a Megan Fox look-a-like who’s been romantically liked to Ryan Seacrest, Jesse McCartney and Paris Hilton’s ex Doug Reinhardt.)

“I’m pretty sure I’m up sh**’s creek right now,” the boyish film star said. “After the first girl I slept with, I was crying. I know that’s not very sexy. What it does lack is that emotional love that I always have with Court.”

He said the sex — presumably with waitress Jasmine Waltz — wasn’t as special because it lacked “that emotional love that I always had with Court.”

Asked if he’s sleeping with anyone new these days, Arquette, 39, replied, “…There’s some stuff happening,” and then admitted bedding a blonde Australian he met at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.

When Stern recommended Arquette date Jennifer Aniston, Arquette laughed. “Not right, not good,” he said.

Arquette also let out another gem: there was no prenuptial agreement between he and Cox.

Stern replied, “Can you count to 50 [million dollars]?”

Arquette said he has no ill feelings toward Cox’s Cougar Town co-star Brian Van Holt, who she might be involved with in the wake of the split.

“Everyone has their problems but she is incredible,” he said of Cox. “Any guy would be blessed to be with her. I don’t have any hard feelings for anyone. This is life and we are just going through it publicly.”

He also admitted he has been “drinking a little more” since Cox left him. (He even downed a few on his way to Stern’s show. “I did, yes,” he said. “I was on the red eye.”)

The biggest message he tried to convey? He’s “still f*****g in love with my wife,” he said.

When Stern asked if Cox doesn’t want to be with him, Arquette replied, “I don’t know about that … we gotta kind of make this separation more separate … It’s just not so easy to communicate.”

[From Radar and Us Weekly]

David sounds… slightly unhinged in the interview. Maybe that’s not the right word. Just… sad. Like he’s been living it up and he feels empty and alone and lonely and confused. I will give this to Arquette: I think he really sounds honest, and like he’s trying to explain what happened. I don’t buy this is a PR move, I think David is really trying to tell his truth.

Here’s that Jasmine Waltz girl, wearing Megan Fox’s 2008 face:

David Arquette is not going to go after Courteney Cox’s $100 million fortune

LOS ANGELES, CA - OCTOBER 16: Actor David Arquette arrives at Spike TV's 'Scream 2010' at The Greek Theatre on October 16, 2010 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Christopher Polk/Getty Images)
David Arquette may be behaving like a 20-something by partying and granting tell-alls in the wake of his divorce, but he’s allegedly not going to be at all petty when it comes to dividing the couple’s assets. Bill Zwecker at the Chicago Sun Times has some insider information that suggest that Arquette is not going to try and get his hands on any of Cox’s Friends’ money and will be content with his own millions, thank you very much. When you’re dealing with that much money maybe you can afford to be generous, but it’s still nice and speaks to his character – especially since Courteney is the one who did the dumping. Here’s the report, which includes the detail that Courteney is worth something like $100 million.

Cyberspace is all abuzz with wild estimates — as much as $50 million — of what David Arquette will collect if he and Courteney Cox go ahead, as expected, and finalize a divorce.

But that’s not what I’m hearing!

Yes, Cox’s net worth supposedly is in the $100 million neighborhood (due to all that “Friends” moolah). And yes, California is a community property state.

Yet, while in L.A. over the weekend, I spoke with sources close to the couple — who are trashing those tales.

Seems Arquette has told pals he and Cox have no quarrels over splitting the $$$ — if they divorce — and long have had carefully detailed financial agreements in place in the event of a marital bust-up.

The actor also told a longtime pal the other day, “I have no interest in Courteney’s money. I have my own money. I don’t care about that. We’re cool on the financial stuff and are totally focused on [their daughter] Coco.”

[From The Chicago Sun Times]

That’s really big of David to keep it civil and try and divide things according to what they separately earned. It wouldn’t hurt him to be a little more ambitious when it comes to what he’s asking for though. He contributed to the marriage and helped raise their daughter. These two even went into business together with their own production company, which is currently responsible for Cougar Town. I wonder how they’re going to divide that company and their responsibilities now that they’re splitting up. Maybe they’ll still work together. They certainly seem to be keeping things friendly.

Maybe David thinks that by keeping the divorce on good terms he’ll still have a chance to win back Courteney.

Is David Arquette really trying to win Courteney Cox back?

Immediately after Courteney Cox and David Arquette announced their split, David went on the Howard Stern show and got extremely candid. We focused on the aspect of their trial separation, and how Courteney was likely screwing around with Brian Van Holt, while David found comfort with a one night stand (allegedly). At one point, David did claim that he was “begging” Courteney to come back to him, and that he had high hopes for a reconciliation. I believed it at the time – I believed that in David’s mind, he did want to get back with his wife, and I believed that Courteney had no interest in any kind of reconciliation. Well, I’m going to have to eat sh-t a little bit. Because while David might have been angling for reconciliation then, I don’t think he is now. I think he’s a man about town, and I think he’s going out and trying to nail every young(er) girl he find:

David Arquette says he’s begging Courteney Cox to come back, but meanwhile, he’s partying with young actresses. He dropped by the joint birthday party for Shenae Grimes and Jessica Stroup of “90210″ on Saturday at Beacher’s Madhouse in LA, a new venue at the Roosevelt Hotel that he co-owns with David Beacher. Arquette led the crowd in singing “Happy Birthday” while the girls were presented with a giant cake. Guests included Brittany Snow, Paris and Nicky Hilton, Brandon Davis and “90210″ co-stars AnnaLynne McCord, Ryan Eggold and Trevor Donovan.

Why, David? Why are you hanging out at parties for the 90210 girls? Why did you throw a birthday party for Hayden Panettiere? Why are you only hanging around girls in their early twenties? Why are you hanging out at the Chateau Marmont? You’re 39 years old, for the love of God. Go home and get some sleep.

Is this The New David? The New David who looks pretty sexy and has good hair and wears nice clothes and yes, spends his time hanging out with younger women? Or is David just spiraling?
