Surprising absolutely no one, Avril Lavigne has officially filed for divorce from her estranged husband Deryck Whibley. The two have been separated for a few month at least, after Avril spent the better part of this year stepping out “looking anything but married”. She’s been partying with everyone from Brandon “Greasy Bear” Davis (who allegedly caused her estrangement with Deryck) to Dole Food Company billionaire Justin Murdock (who she’s been maybe stepping out with lately). Avril and Deryck were married for more than three years. Avril is not seeking sposal support, nor does she want to pay Deryck palimony.

Avril Lavigne has filed for divorce from Deryck Whibley.

The singer, 25, cites “irreconcilable differences” in court paperwork, according to TMZ.com. She’s not asking for spousal support, and has also requested not to pay spousal support to Whibley.

Us Weekly first reported on Sept. 17 that the pair had called it quits after three years and one month of marriage.

“She dumped him and told him she was leaving him. She wants to move on,” a source told Us, adding that she forced him out of their $9.5 million, 12,000-square-foot estate in L.A.’s Bel Air.

Whibley, 29, “is crushed,” another insider told Us then.

The following day, Lavigne confirmed on her blog that she was separating from her Sum 41 rocker husband.

“Deryck and I have been together for six and a half years,” she wrote. “We have been friends since I was 17, started dating when I was 19, and married when I was 21.

“I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship. I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. He is the most amazing person I know, and I love him with all my heart,” she went on. “Deryck and I are separating and moving forward on a positive note.”

Interesting that Avril was the one to file for divorce. Perhaps Deryck wanted to play the victim a bit. Or perhaps he really is “crushed” and he truly hoped they would work it out. God knows. I think she’s a belligerent twerp, but I’m kind of amazed at how many seemingly normal, nice guys seem to dig her bratty act. Maybe they were too young – although I think Avril is still going to be a terrible little hellion twenty years from now. Whatever.

It seems like there might be more to the Avril Lagigne-Deryck Whibley divorce drama. Previously, we’ve heard random excuses for their split, stuff about Avril’s drinking and partying, Deryck wanting babies, Avril cheating, Deryck cheating, both of them being too young and immature, and how basically both of them are ridiculous, stupid, ignorant wastes of space (I made that one up as one of “reasons” for their split, but it still works). Now we’re hearing a new “reason” and it involves Brandon “Greasy Bear” Davis.

Avril and Greasy Bear have a somewhat well-documented friendship. “Friendship” being “they hang out occasionally and get drunk, maybe do some drugs”. There were rumors last month that they may be romantically involved. And that’s where In Touch is taking us – they claim that Brandon is “in love” with Avril, and asked her to divorce Deryck so they could be together. Sounds like someone’s getting punk’d, doesn’t it?

Avril Lavigne is telling friends that her three-year marriage to Deryck Whibley is ending because she tied the knot too young. But apparently it was really her close friendship with oil heir Brandon Davis that doomed the relationship.

Previously, In Touch reported that Deryck texted Brandon and told him to stay away from his wife after Avril and Brandon dined together, but her rep denied the incident. This time, according to an insider, it was Brandon who gave the ultimatum.

In early September, he told Avril to choose between him and her husband. “Brandon really likes Avril, but he’s not keen on dating a married woman… Ever since they first met, they’ve had a connection. But Avril was married to Deryck, so Brandon kept it casual.”

Now that she and Deryck have separated, the insider reveal that Avril and Brandon are planning to go public with their romance.

“They have major chemistry. They could wind up getting married,” says the pal, adding that the pair have been meeting at his mother’s Bel Air estate to avoid being photographed together.

They also had a rendezvous on a yacht in St. Tropez this summer, and Avril celebrated Brandon’s 30th birthday with him at Koi in LA on September 2, giving him an expensive art book as a present.

“They are together,” says the friend. “He loves Avril.”

Eh, I tend to think Avril deserves whatever she gets, she’s such a little pill. But I did feel a very, very small twinge of sympathy for her because Brandon Davis is one sketchy, gross, disgusting piece of trash. His bigotry, nastiness, creepiness, drunkenness, and general sketchiness is rather legendary. My guess is that if any part of this is true, Brandon is just doing this as a joke, to see if he could get her to dump Deryck. But here’s the part I don’t think is true – that Avril would move from Deryck to any kind of real relationship with Brandon, or anyone else. That girl wants to party. She wants to get drunk and sleep with whoever she wants. You know, the same stuff she did while she was married.

Us Weekly is reporting that Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley are ending their three-year marriage. A source tells Us Weekly, “She dumped him and told him she was leaving him. She wants to move on.” The source goes on to say that 25-year-old Avril has asked (“forced”) Deryck to leave their lavish Bel Air home, and added “Divorce papers will be filed any day now.” Another source told Us Weekly that 29-year-old Deryck is “is crushed.” So far, neither Avril nor Deryck have confirmed the news, but I think it’s probably true.

Part of the reason I think it’s true is because Avril has been acting like a single girl for the better part of a year. She goes to lots of parties in New York and Los Angeles, gets drunk with Brandon “Greasy Bear” Davis, and seems to have spent most of August in a drunken haze in the Hamptons. Less than a month ago, Gatecrasher printed some good gossip that Avril was looking “anything but married” at a series of Hamptons hotspots, perhaps even hooking up with a series of interchangeable guys who didn’t mind her snotty attitude and puke breath.

In another interesting note, the National Enquirer had now-prescient story up a few days ago about Deryck “begging” Avril to just stop partying and just settle down, have a baby, and work on their very troubled marriage. Here’s the Enquirer’s report:

Avril Lavigne’s long-suffering husband, rocker Deryck Whibley, begged his wife to have a child with him to save their crumbling marriage – but the “Complicated” singer balked at the suggestion and set off on a new party path that’s driving them even fur­ther apart, say sources.

“I think Avril and Deryck are now just a di­vorce waiting to happen,” a long­time friend told The ENQUIRER. “The poor guy thought a baby would bring them back together. He’s crazy in love with her. But Avril wants less responsibility, not more.It is as if she’s ready to pull the plug on their life together. She acts like she just wants to be free.”

The punk-rock couple, who married in 2006, seemed to be living separate lives for much of the last year. Deryck asked her to meet with him last month at their Los Angeles home in an attempt to work things out.

Although Deryck was in tears during the face-to-face, Avril was unmoved, says the friend.

The 24-year-old singer has been raising eyebrows with her cozy friendships with other men, such as troubled oil heir Brandon Davis and Dole Food heir Justin Murdock.

On Aug. 22, she was spotted at a Hamptons, N.Y. restaurant flirting with male admirers. She later partied like a single woman at Axe Lounge.

” She’s breaking Deryck’s heart,” the friend confided. “He told Avril, ‘I want a family. We belong together.’

But Avril immediately pulled away from him and has been partying ever since.”

Despite his wife’s strong rejection, Deryck still believes they can

Yeah, I really think Avril wants out, and has wanted out for a while. She’s doesn’t give a crap about Deryck or her marriage. I feel for Deryck… just a little bit. While I’m sure he’s a tool too, I pity anyone whose had to put up with her for any length of time. Oh – and I’m pretty sure she’ll be in rehab at some point very soon. Avril and an unknown companion in St. Tropez on 8/3/09

In news that I hope no one finds surprising, it seems like Avril Lavigne and her husband of three years Deryck Whibley are having big problems. Side note – I hate both of them for how they spell their names. Back on topic: Gatecrasher is reporting that Avril has been spotted in the Hamptons “looking anything but married”. Avril has been seen out and about in the company of multiple men, and she seems very concerned about being photographed in any kind of compromising position. Avril and Deryck were married in 2006. Deryck is 29 years old, and Avril turns 25 this September.

Things are about to get “Complicated” for Avril Lavigne and hubby Deryck Whibley. Sources close to the couple, who have been married since 2006, say they’re headed for Splitsville. That seemed apparent when the Canadian songstress was out and about in Southampton last weekend – sans hubby and looking anything but married.

“She wanted to get away from Deryck and have a weekend to herself,” says a source close to the “Sk8er Boi” singer.

A spy at celebrity eatery Georgica indeed saw Lavigne getting away – but hardly spending any time alone. Instead, says the onlooker, she was partying hard and hanging with a number of male admirers. Only later in the evening did Lavigne get paranoid about what the nearby paparazzi may have captured on film. “She kept running up to the photographers and asking to see the pictures they took,” says one partygoer. (We’ve noticed that those photos have mysteriously disappeared from at least one site on which they were posted.)

Lavigne continued her Saturday night at another Hamptons hot spot, Axe Lounge, where she danced the night – and perhaps her rocky marriage – away.

Trouble has been brewing since early this year for Lavigne and Whibley, who haven’t been photographed together since last December – and things have gotten significantly colder between the two since the summer heated up. Whibley attended the L.A. premiere of “Transformers” solo on June 22, while his missus jetted off to Saint-Tropez for a week with her girlfriends. One vacationer at the celeb-studded Riviera getaway spilled that she was definitely enjoying the paradise and pina coladas, perhaps a little bit too much.

So what does this mean for Lavigne’s upcoming album, which her Sum 41 husband was supposed to be helping her with?

Industry insiders say that although the two have already worked together on a few tracks for the CD, due out Nov. 17, Lavigne will be going ahead with it solo – just like her weekend in the Hamptons.

I could barely care about these people except for the vague schadenfreude I feel because Avril and Deryck have always struck me as two of the biggest bratty, snotty, entitled poseurs ever. In fact, Avril’s been photographed partying her ass off in the French Riviera with none other than Paris Hilton’s and Mischa Barton’s ex-boyfriend, Brandon “Greasy Bear” Davis, oil heir and douchebag extraordinaire. The new photographs have kick-started another round of rumors about the stability of Avril and Deryk’s marriage.

While Derek Whibley was performing onstage with his band, Sum 41, his wife, Avril Lavigne, was spotted partying on the French Riviera with oil heir Brandon Davis, sparking rumors that the pair are getting closer by the day. Avril hit the scene in St. Tropez a few days after Brandon flew in on July 16.

“Brandon and Avril hang out together all of the time, but it’s unclear if Deryck is award of it,” a pal reveals. “Brandon and Avril are always careful not to be photographed together.”

Although a rep for Avril says that she and Brandon just happened to be at the same yacht party and Brandon is “just a friend,” an insider questions whether it’s really a coincidence that they were both here at the same time. In recent months, Avril and Brandon, 30, were spotted all over LA, including West Hollywood bar El Carmen, Pace restaurant, and partying at hotspot MyHouse.

But the French getaway definitely appeared to lift her spirits. Just days before, Avril, 24 and Deryck, 29, were having a more low-key time at Madeo in LA together. “She looked miserable when she was leaving,” says a witness.

I don’t know if I believe that Avril is getting romantic with Brandon Davis. First of all, Avril pretty much looks miserable all the time, except for when she is drunk off her ass. Oil heir or no, it would definitely be a downgrade on the celeb ladder to trade her rock star hubby in for Paris and Mischa’s sloppy seconds. I think she is just looking for someone as rich and connected as she is to drink and party with while her husband’s away. And maybe a drunken roll in the hey every once in a while – if she’s willing to risk exposure to the herp! I do wonder when she finds time to do all that charity work she is always talking about in between the shots and yacht parties, don’t you?

Avril Lavigne is one singer who has not learned to change with the times. The 24-year-old is still hawking the same stale style of clothing she was when her line Abbey Dawn first came out, and she’s still doing the whole punk-rock-ballerina look with the heavy mascara and studded hoodies. And her marriage is still on the rocks.

According to the NY Daily News, Avril was treating her husband, Deryck Whibley from Sum 41, with little more than indifference while she got trashed at a nightclub in LA.

The Canadian singer was “getting bombed” at MyHouse in L.A. last weekend, says a spy. “She kept downing vodka drinks, to the point where she was obliterated. She ended up fighting with her husband (Deryck Whibley of Sum 41 fame) before ignoring him completely.”

While Whibley sat alone on the couch glumly, “­Avril talked to everyone else. When he was ready to leave, she downed two more shots of vodka before walking out the door. What a child!”

Avril’s fifteen minutes of fame have been over for quite some time, but she’s still hanging on for dear life. Although her catchy song “Girlfriend” was a hit, she was criticized when her fans tried to make it the YouTube top hit through devious means. Her 2008 The Best Damn Tour was decidedly not a hit, and she’s getting more press for her failing relationship than for her music. In an interview a few years back, Avril commented on what a homebody she is – but for someone who prides herself on being a homebody, she sure goes out a lot. Her partying has led to rumors that she’s been cheating on Deryck for a while now, and Brandon Davis’ name has come up more than a few times. Deryck has also been rumored to be getting some on the side. Either Avril and Deryck have a very open relationship, or we’re going to get another Avril album full of breakup songs.

Avril Lavigne is looking sort of pregnant. Viewing these pictures, she could be expecting, or she’s shoplifting, there’s definitely something stuffed up that shirt. Her arms and face look thin but her stomach and bust look significantly inflated.

This isn’t the first time that pregnancy rumors have followed Avril, who is the past has claimed that she doesn’t plan to have children until she’s in her 30s.

“Oh God! I don’t want to have kids for like 10 years. I still have a lot to do. I don’t even know if I could handle a dog right now. I’m so not ready. Someday I’ll be a mom but not until I’m in my 30s.”

Actually, I think that my kids are easier than my dog. While it took two years, my children eventually were toilet trained. The dog never has been. Although, I can shove the dog out in the yard when he cries at night, if I did that to the kids it would be less acceptable.

Avril Lavigne’s two year marriage to fellow Canadian musician Deryck Whibley, 28, might be in trouble. While his 24 year-old wife is on tour Deryck is said to be partying up a storm and was even seen looking way too familiar with another woman. Deryck was even seen holding another woman’s hand at the popular celebrity hotspot Villa, where he’s often gone with Avril.

On Oct. 2 – the same night Avril was performing in Lijang, China – Deryck was spotted out with a statuesque brunette beauty.

“It seemed as if Deryck and his woman couldn’t keep their hands off of each other,” an insider at Villa nightclub told The Enquirer.

“They huddled at a private table, and Deryck had his arm around her and was holding her hand.”

The Ontario natives – who wed in July 2006 – have been virtually leading separate lives, according to the insider.

The two have tried relying on long distance phone calls and e-mailing to hold their troubled relationship together. But while 24-year-old Avril has been touring the world, Deryck has back-burned his career in favor of partying, say sources.

The Enquirer goes on to detail an incident in late August which Deryck and his friends nearly got in a fight at a club. Avril was said to be upset about it, and Deryck went off to Japan to join her on tour. He ended up going out to the clubs in Tokyo while she had to work.

This incident with the other woman happened after that, so it’s possible they had a blowout at that time. Unless that woman was his sister he has no excuse for holding her hand and putting his arm around her. He’s got to know he’s going to get caught at a popular club where he can be seen like that and you wonder if he wants to get found out or if they’ve already broken up. Avril really gets on my nerves with her attitude, but she’s softened up a bit lately – or at least she’s shut up a little – and she doesn’t deserve that kind of public humiliation.

Avril Lavigne must truly be one of the most disliked celebrities on the internet. She has famously gone to war against several bloggers and spit on members of the paparazzi. Not the best way to make friends in the media. As a result, Avril has received a lot of bad press and is generally known more for her surly attitude than her singing. Though she has toned it down a bit since she got married to Deryck Whibley a few years ago, she still seems to be pretty widely disliked. News of a possible Lavigne/Whibley child hasn’t brought the singer any kinder handling in the press. Though she and her publicist have denied a pregnancy, there’s plenty of evidence that Avril is in fact toasting a bun in the oven.

A Petunia Pickle Bottom men’s diaper bag? Men need their own diaper bags? I know baby stuff can look kind of effeminate, but isn’t that just part of the package? I would really love to see what a “manly” diaper bag would look like. I’m guessing it has lumberjacks and big chunks of meat on it or something. But I digress. That seems like a bit more stuff than you’d normally buy for a pregnant friend. And nothing says “Avril Lavigne’s Baby” like an AC/DC baby tee. Always classy. Actually I think the whole rocker/rebel baby thing is kind of cute, when done in small amounts. Now Online also reports that Avril was spotted shopping at Kitson For Kids too. That’s a whole lot of small clothing. Avril is pretty tiny, but I doubt she’s fitting into a Splendid romper anytime soon. I would say the traditional “Congrats to the happy couple,” but with someone like Avril Lavigne, she’s probably apt to punch me in the eye for it.

Avril Lavigne’s rep denies that the pint-sized pop singer is pregnant. A Canadian entertainment blog reported an “exclusive” today that Lavigne’s husband, Deryck Whibley, was telling friends that his sneering bride was in the family way. Avril’s rep says it’s just not true. There’s another rumor that Avril could be having trouble in her marriage. Last week’s National Enquirer reported that Deryck was “acting like a single man” and was seen looking flirty with everyone’s favorite homewrecker Paris Hilton as well as collecting a phone number from another woman at a club on December 17th. It could have all been innocent fun.

Meanwhile Avril has given an undisclosed settlement to the band The Roobinos for their claimed copyright infringement of their 1979 single “Boyfriend.” A settlement doesn’t mean that she’s admitting to infringing the band’s copyright. Her manager says he merely wanted to avoid a costly court battle, and Avril denies ever hearing the song. This is not the first time that Lavigne has been accused of plagiarism.

We got a lot of well-deserved flack for repeating Star Magazine’s incorrect story that Avril only played a couple of songs at a free concert in Burnaby, British Columbia before ditching to go see the Spice Girls. She did play a full set at that show and it’s well documented.

As to why we report with a negative slant on Avril, after reading several self-important interviews with her and seeing how she repeatedly flips off the camera as well as spits on paparazzi, we decided that we don’t like her. She doesn’t seem to like or appreciate her job, and is known for giving listless performances.
