For as insufferable and up her own ass Camille Grammer seemed on the first season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, her ex-husband, Kelsey Grammer, came across much worse. Kelsey left Camille and their two children in California while he went to New York to do a play, knocked up a much younger stewardess and promptly dumped Camille (maybe not in that order, but pretty close). He married the flight attendant as soon as his divorce with Camille went through. Kelsey didn’t let Camille know that he had one foot out the door when he left for New York and she started filming her reality show. It wasn’t until months later, during the Tony Awards that he had her attend with him, that he let her know he wanted out but still expected her to play the doting wife for the cameras. Only now Kelsey is rewriting history and he claims that the RHOBH was his “parting gift” to Camille. I thought his parting gift was making her go as his date with him to the Tonys and then proceeding to make obnoxious references to his mistress.

Kelsey Grammer stopped by the Australian morning show “Sunrise” Tuesday to dish on his new show, “Boss,” and — reluctantly — his recent divorce from “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Camille Grammer.

The couple’s relationship woes played out in the spotlight, thanks to Camille’s role on the “Housewives” reality show. When asked about Camille’s frequent remarks about the split, Grammer said: “In my mind [the show] was my parting gift to her. It was a very difficult marriage and a very difficult decade. I thought, ‘So long, here’s a present for you.’”

Ongoing drama including custody battles, gag orders and Grammer’s marriage a few days after his divorce to flight attendant Kayte Walsh has kept the former couple in the media spotlight. The TV stars were married for 14 years before they split in February 2011.

Grammer was allegedly miffed that the talk show aired footage of himself and his ex-wife in happier times. According to a report by “confidential reporters” at Australia’s Herald Sun, Grammer reportedly blasted “Sunrise” producer Mark Beirne following the segment, calling Beirne “a vile person” and “a sick dog.” The report also claims that Grammer threw profanities at the producer after coming off the air.

So Kelsey may have thought that, but he didn’t have the courtesy to tell that to his wife after “a very difficult decade” until he’d already moved in with his mistress. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t stand Camille but that was super cold and mean the way he dumped her.

Also, did you read that about how he got all pissy and swore and called the producer names after that interview? He’s got this veneer of class, but he’s one of the most petty nasty bastards when it comes down to it. Look at what he did to Camille and how he’s laughing about it now.

In related news, TMZ reports that Kelsey is trying to slap Camille with a gag order for an impromptu interview she gave a paparazzo when she was out with their son. She said that she was taking the kids to their activities and answered that his favorite sports were tennis, soccer and skateboarding. It was all pretty innocent but Kelsey doesn’t want her allowing their children to be filmed by the press. It was fine for him to later bring both of the kids to paparazzi hotspot Boa, though.

Marc Anthony has a new interview that will air on ABC’s Nightline tonight in which he discusses his divorce with Jennifer Lopez. He claims he’s doing it to set the record straight, probably after the cheating rumors and all the tabloids that J.Lo strategically told her side of the story to. Good Morning America had a preview of the interview this morning, and they focus on Anthony saying the split wasn’t “sensationalistic.” Even though I (sort-of) write for a living, I wasn’t sure that “sensationalistic” was an actual word, but it is, it just sounds like it’s made up.

Anthony denies having affairs, particularly with that flight attendant that was mentioned in Lopez’s US Weekly cover story, but he does it in a roundabout way that makes me scrunch up my face and go “hmmm.” He does say “no, absolutely not” about infidelity but he also spends a lot of time going on about how there were a ton of other fake rumors about him and then he complains about the gossip industry.

I’ll tell you it wasn’t some sensationalistic happening.

Interviewer: infidelity?
No, absolutely not. Nothing sensationalistic…

It was a realization on both our parts, so. It wasn’t shocking. These things happen. These things happen.

There was a flight attendant. There was a pilot I heard. There was this guy sitting next to me in a rehab in Houston. I’ve heard it all.

Then the interview goes on to promote Marc Anthony’s new album of Spanish love songs, his clothing line with Kohl’s and his talent reality competition with J.Lo.

If celebrity watching and speculation is a sport*, then Anthony’s estranged wife is one of the most enthusiastic and hard working players. She puts this stuff out there for consumption, and she’s pushing her side of the story. Marc was kind of unconvincing with his side. He seemed so lackluster in that interview.

US Weekly has a big article in the print edition about the “alleged” cheating between Marc and Jada Pinkett Smith on set. They suggest that there was at least an inappropriately close friendship between them along with some suspicious behavior. What’s more is that Jada supposedly tried to help broker Jennifer and Marc’s split! It doesn’t make sense that she would have done that if she was sleeping with Marc as it would have involved some massive chutzpah. Here’s more from US:

Lopez may have picked up on what another insider considers an “inappropriately close” off-camera relationship. “They were a little too touching and like they were in their own little world,” says a set source, who recalls that Anthony once fed her a piece of cake with his fingers – and the pair often hung out alone in his trailer. The insider says they just got friendly quickly: “They talked and texted all the time…

“The more distant Marc and Jennifer became, the closer he got to Jada,” reveals the insider. The family friend says Pinkett Smith actually attempted to help mediate the acrimonious split – and her efforts backfired. “Jennifer didn’t like that,” says the pal. “Jada overstepped her bounds a bit and Will chastised her for getting too involved.” She may have been meddling, but the family insider insists Anthony and Pinkett Smith’s friendship never crossed the line to a full-blown affair. “Marc may be attracted to her, but Jada isn’t – period… she’s not jacking up her life for Marc Anthony…

It sounds like Jada and Marc at least had an emotional affair. That’s funny how Marc sort-of denied having an affair with a stewardess but never mentioned anything on this huge story of an affair with Jada. At least he didn’t talk about it in the preview of the interview that was aired this morning.

*On the “celebrity watching as a sport” angle – whenever a guy tries to tell me that celebrity gossip is frivolous I just ask them if they watch Sportscenter. Usually a look of realization dawns on their face.

Ashlee, Pete and their son Bronx Mowgli, two and a half, on 6/10/11

I had only a passing interest in the Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz breakup earlier this year, but since it’s my job to pay attention to these relatively nobodies, I’ve gleaned that Ashlee may have cheated on Pete. It’s hard to verify, but it seems like that’s what went down. Maybe his people were leaking stories about her, though, because there were cheating rumors about him too, and one story in the Enquirer claimed he was addicted to prescription painkillers. Whatever happened, Ashlee has been spotted out with several other potential hookups since their split and so has Pete. They’ve also been photographed together, suggesting they’re still friendly or at least want to give the impression that they are.

This latest story makes me think that Pete probably wants Ashlee to look like a drunken sad sap who wants him back though. US Weekly claims she’s been drunk-dialing him and begging him to come back to her. I would think it would be the other way around, but who knows. The last we heard of Ashlee she was dating Boardwalk Empire star Vincent Piazza, but they could be over now even though US says they’re still together. I did find paparazzi photos of them together on July 10th, those are below. Here’s US’ story:

A source says [Ashlee Simpson], 26, recently placed an inebriated call to Pete Wentz, whom she’s divorcing. “Ashlee was telling Pete how much she misses him and wants him back,” says a pal of the bassist, 32. A rep for Simpson denies the call. And though the singer is dating Boardwalk Empire’s Vincent Piazza, the source says she’s so desperate to win Wentz back, she even asked his sis for help – with no luck. Says the pal, “He will never go back to her. He’s in a good place.”

This is Pete trying to save face by acting like Ashlee wants him back. She probably did drunk dial him, we’ve heard she loves her cocktails. The extent of her wanting him back is probably a few mumbled regrets that she doesn’t even remember, though.

Star Magazine had this recent story about how Cameron Diaz is getting catty about Jennifer Lopez’s on set behavior. They’re co-starring in that sure-to-be crapfest What to Expect When You’re Expecting and allegedly have a mutual disdain for each other. Cameron is said to be more vocal about how much she dislikes Lopez while Lopez just totally ignores Cameron. I could see this happening, although it’s in Star so it’s possibly fiction.

“Jennifer and Cameron don’t like each other,” an insider tells Star. “They don’t interact much, but when they do, the tension is thick.”

The A-listers’ frosty relationship is particularly glaring because J.Lo, 42, has bonded with… other cast members [including] Brooklyn Decker [and] has also been linked to her on-screen mate, Rodrigo Santoro. “Cam sees all that stuff and hoopla around J.Lo’s divorce from Marc Anthony and whether she’s dating Rodrigo as a distraction from work,” says the insider. “She’s also annoyed by Jennifer’s huge entourage, which includes her mom, three assistants, makeup and hair people and her manager. She made a snide comment to the effect of, ‘How many people does it take for one woman to film a simple scene?’”

Cameron, 38, has even taken a shot at the acting skills of [J.Lo]… “She said Jennifer has a lot to learn and made a dig about how she’d be better off sticking to her day jobs – meaning singing and judging Idol…”

[J.Lo] “doesn’t seem to care,” says the insider. “She doesn’t talk about Cam or ask about her. She just acts as if Cam doesn’t exist.”

There are tons more stories on J.Lo in this week’s tabloids. There’s yet another piece in Star, about how Marc allegedly wants his estranged wife back and is making headway in that department. They quote an insider who says “Jennifer is open to not going through a messy divorce. She is actually listening to Marc, and Marc has been trying to mend the relationship… Marc has been calling her a lot, saying he is sorry for the way he treated her and that he will change. And he says he has changed already.”

Meanwhile US Weekly has a completely different take on Marc’s phone calls to Jennifer. “He calls her nonstop, especially when he’s drinking, and they had a huge argument in early August. Marc is constantly harassing her and doesn’t think she’ll go through with the divorce… she has no interest in reconciling.” That sounds straight from Jennifer’s camp while the Star take is from Marc’s.

And In Touch has Jennifer trying to protect her assets from her Marc’s skeletal grubby paws. They quote an insider who says “Marc doesn’t want this divorce, and Jennifer thinks he might get his revenge by hitting her where it hurts – her bank account… She won’t give Marc one cent of her earnings.” But of course they live in California, with Lopez’s lawyer telling In Touch “By California law, Marc has a right to half of her earnings made during their marriage.” You know she’s going to fight like hell. This is about to get interesting.

It’s been a quiet but close summer for crusty lovers John Mellencamp and Meg Ryan. They’re been keeping a lower profile, and they’ve only really gotten pap’d while they were on a romantic holiday in Rome, back in July. Before that, John and Meg (I first typed “Meh” which was so appropriate) had been announcing their love through a series of photo ops in the Spring, just after John dumped his wife Elaine. Rumors were pretty strong that there was some overlap between when he was ending it with Elaine and when he was starting up with Meg, but no matter. Meg got her man! She won the Jumpoff Prize! And she’s about to cash in, I think. John and Elaine’s divorce was just finalized on Friday:

Rocker John Mellencamp and his estranged wife, model Elaine Irwin Mellencamp, are officially divorced. The couple, who were wed for 18 years and have two sons – Hud, 17, and Speck, 16 – separated on Sept. 1, 2010, and he filed for divorce on Jan. 14. Their divorce, his third, was formalized on Aug. 12.

The couple negotiated “an amicable settlement of all issues involving property and maintenance rights, the custody and support of their children, and all other issues,” according the settlement agreement.

They will share joint legal custody of the boys, with their mother – who will return to the name Elaine Irwin – having primary physical custody. John will pay child support and for their schooling. No other specifics of their 31-page confidential final settlement agreement were made public.

In court papers, Mellencamp said the marriage was “irretrievably broken.” Indiana is a “no-fault” state, meaning a couple can divorce for almost any reason.

The Mellencamps lived in a 56-acre estate in Lake Monroe, Ind., which is close to Bloomington. Both had said they planned to stay in Indiana, where “they will continue to raise their children,” his rep said in January.

Since the split, John Mellencamp, 59, has been dating Meg Ryan, and the pair have been spotted around Martha’s Vineyard, New York City and Bloomington.

In addition to the two boys with Irwin, Mellencamp has three other children.

Does it follow that as soon as the ink is dry on these divorce papers, John will be able to get hitched to his jumpoff? Perhaps. The Enquirer (who has consistently accurate sources on this matter) claims that John and Meg were planning to get married as soon as his divorce came through, and personally, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw Meg with a ring by the end of the year. Yay for jumpoffs!

This one is a no-brainer: Maria Shriver filed for divorce, officially, on Friday. It seemed like she was headed in that direction since Arnold’s mistress implosion more than a month ago. Both Maria and Arnold had hired divorce lawyers, and it was assumed that they were already in the process of splitting up their assets. Most of their kids (together) are already adults, or almost adults, so I don’t think custody is going to be a huge issue, especially since both Arnold and Maria seem content to stay in California. Previously, sources claimed that Arnold could be paying Maria something like $100 million in a possible divorce settlement – which I think it low-balling it, no pun intended:

Maria Shriver is moving on. California’s former first lady filed for divorce from Arnold Schwarzenegger Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, a source confirms, two months after the actor’s public admission that he fathered a child with the couple’s longtime housekeeper.

Citing irreconcilable differences, Shriver is seeking shared custody of their minor children, Patrick, 17, and Christopher, 13. The couple also have two daughters, Katherine, 21 and Christina, 19. Shriver is also seeking spousal support from Schwarzenegger and that he pay her attorney fees.

Schwarzenegger’s rep Adam Mendelsohn had no comment on the filing.

According to a source, one of the reasons Shriver had confronted housekeeper Mildred Baena was because it became more and more apparent over the years that Baena’s son, Joseph, 13, bore a striking resemblance to Schwarzenegger.

“While Maria may not have been as angry at Mildred as she was at Arnold, her instinct would be to protect her family,” a source close to the family previously told PEOPLE. “Whatever she did in the aftermath was about taking care of her kids, trying to shield them and trying to minimize the repercussions.”

Shriver, 55, most recently attended the Special Olympics in Athens, Greece, accompanied by her four children.

It remains to be seen what sort of relationship Schwarzenegger, 63, plans to have with Joseph, although a source says the actor has been providing for the boy for many years.

In early May, the couple announced their split as they contemplated the state of their 25-year marriage.

“At this time, we are living apart, while we work on the future of our relationship,” the couple said in a statement at the time. “We are continuing to parent our four children together. They are the light and the center of both of our lives.”

I don’t think anybody blames Maria for filing for divorce, right? She gave it a good run, and now she’s got time to map out the rest of her life. My guess is that she’ll follow in her parents’ footsteps and devote herself to charity work. And then, at some point, she’ll begin dating, probably some quiet, rich Democratic party fundraiser or lawyer. Her kids will be pretty well adjusted and everything will be fine. As for Arnold… God knows. I think once the divorce is a done deal, we’ll be hearing a lot more about his skeezy, sleazy ways.

Well, this is strange. Hipster couple Jack White (musician/singer, The White Stripes) and his supermodel wife Karen Elson are getting a divorce. They have been married for six years exactly, and took the occasion of their sixth wedding anniversary and impending divorce to throw a party to celebrate. For real:

“Karen Elson and Jack White announce today that they are getting divorced,” the two say in a joint statement released by their rep. “We remain dear and trusted friends and co-parents to our wonderful children Scarlett and Henry Lee. We feel so fortunate for the time we have shared and the time we will continue to spend both separately and together watching our children grow.”

But that’s not all.

To commemorate the occasion, the two are throwing a divorce party Friday night in Nashville. (See invitation below.)

“In honor of that time shared, we are throwing a divorce party,” the two say in their statement. “An evening together in Nashville to re-affirm our friendship and celebrate the past and future with close friends and family.”

According to the invitation, the bash will include “dancing, photos, memories and drinks with alcohol in them.”

And the pair cautions: “This is only for close personal friends and family. So please no plus ones or dead beats.”

White, 35, and Elson, 32, wed in Brazil in 2005. The rocker recently disbanded his longtime group the White Stripes with Meg White. Elson, meanwhile, has been performing her own music and currently manages a clothing boutique in Nashville, where the two live with their children.

I had forgotten that Karen and Jack had kids. I don’t even remember seeing Karen pregnant! But she was, twice, apparently. As for the “divorce party”… well, they’re both strange birds, and I actually buy that they still care about each other and are committed to being “adult” about their divorce. But I really don’t know that much about them – basically, the only thing I’ve ever read about their relationship was this Vogue piece from last year, where Karen was promoting her new music career (which Jack helped launch). Jack also dated Renee Zellweger in the past, a few years before he met and fell in love with Karen. We’ll see what happens…

We haven’t heard much about the Schwarzenegger scandal lately, and it looks like the parties are hunkering down and trying to work out a divorce settlement so that Maria can put all this behind her, bathe in diamonds and wipe her ass with Chanel for the rest of her awesome life. She was married to a cheating lying bastard who carried on with the maid right under her nose for over a decade, but she’s about to come away with a multi-state lotto level settlement, thanks to all that money Arnold made by playing the same tough guy character with an accent over and over again. Hollywood Life talked to a celebrity divorce attorney who estimated Maria’s take in her divorce at around $100 million, considering that she was married to Arnold for 25 years, that California is a 50/50 divorce state, and that his net worth is about $300 million. Plus Maria could be entitled to $10k a month child support per kid, along with a percentage of Arnold’s future earnings. It’s a lot of money for an already wealthy woman:

Although she wasn’t exactly hurting for money before, Maria Shriver stands to be richer than ever following her divorce from Arnold Schwarzenegger. HollywoodLife.com consulted with two leading divorce lawyers who agree the scorned wife will likely earn at least $100 million because she gave up her career for Arnold and stuck with him for so long.

“Maria Shriver is certainly entitled to a generous amount in the settlement, one that is consistent with her lifestyle. If Arnold’s net worth is $300,000 million she should get half of that plus child support,” Susan Filan, famed legal expert, says.

Celebrity divorce lawyer Raoul Felder — who has represented some of Hollywood’s most high-profile couples including Elizabeth Taylor and David Guest, and Robin Givens and Mike Tyson — agrees and points out a technicality that may result in Maria, 55, making slightly less than $150 million.

“If Arnold is worth $300 million, than Maria is likely to get $100 million. One third of that was probably money Arnold earned before he got married. So she would get half of $200 million because in the state of California it’s 50/50,” he explains.

That said, Filan says the court will have to take into account more than just Arnold’s net worth. There are outside factors, like Maria’s support, her giving up her career and the sheer length of time they were married (25 years!).

“The fact that Maria gave up her career as a journalist to fully support Arnold’s career cannot be overlooked. They will look at how she contributed to his career,” she says.

“He could not have gotten to where he is without her support. The reason Arnold is worth so much is because he was married to Maria. Yes, a portion of his net worth comes from his body building days and acting career, but Maria took him to a whole other level, and the opportunity for income that he has today is in large part because of his marriage to her.”

She adds, “The court will also look at earning capacity. Who in the future will have the greater capacity to earn money? And it’s quite apparent that he does and because of this, Maria should be entitled to a portion of these future earnings.”

Good for Maria for moving forward with the divorce and getting hers. She’s been looking resilient and kind of triumphant in her pap walks lately, flashing her ringless hand. Meanwhile Arnie is still wearing his wedding ring, like the douche in denial he’s been for the last twenty odd years. As I mentioned in an earlier story on this, I’m surprised he’s ready to move forward with a settlement and isn’t holding on harder to his marriage. He must have another woman lined up ready to take Maria’s place as his main piece while he continues boning anything that moves on the side. Just wait, we’ll see him with a girlfriend soon enough.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has officially hired a high-powered divorce attorney, just two weeks after the news came out that this now-estranged wife of 25 years, Maria Shriver, hired her own celebrity divorce attorney, Laura Wasser. Arnold has retained Bob Kaufman, who has represented Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson in their divorces. This is a real turnaround for Arnold, whose last public statement had him saying he still loved Maria and sounding like he was holding out for a reconciliation. This was of course before all that “lovechild” business broke and before we heard other sordid details about all the women Arnold was screwing on the side. Surprisingly, only one other mistress has come out publicly, though, suggesting that The Governator either kept it in his pants most of the time except for the maid (unlikely) or paid off his side pieces to keep quiet, as he did with the housekeeper.

Yesterday Arnold was seen outside a hotel in Santa Monica, where he met with his daughters Christina, 19, and Katherine, 20, for about an hour and a half. Paparazzi agency X17 is speculating that it was a “divorce pow wow” in light of the news that Arnold has hired a lawyer. That’s likely, although we have no way of knowing what they discussed.

The Huffington Post reports that the “Schwarzenegger-Shriver divorce could be one of the most expensive celebrity divorces to date, with their combined net worth estimated at $500 million.” That’s a lot of money to divide. We still haven’t heard anything about Mel Gibson’s divorce, and his net worth is somewhere significantly north of that at around $900 million.

Maria Shriver stepped out on Tuesday without her wedding ring. There were also photos of her on Memorial day without her ring, but this time she held her left hand up for the paparazzi to send a clear message that she wasn’t clinging to her marriage in any way. It looks like Arnold has come around on that issue as well. I’m kind of surprised that he’s facing reality. He’s been leading a double life for years, but now that he’s been caught I find it hard to believe that he’d just concede that he needs to get a divorce. He must have been so deep in denial and delusion for years and that doesn’t just go away when someone gets busted.

I thought that the Arnold secret love child stories might let up a little once we heard that Maria Shriver was (allegedly) responsible for leaking the scandal. It gets worse, though, because not only did the 13 year-old boy not know he was Arnold’s son, the housekeeper’s ex husband didn’t know that the boy wasn’t his son, either. This isn’t just another rumor attached to a “source,” this story comes directly from an interview the ex did with Entertainment Tonight.

Entertainment Tonight’s Mark Steines spoke with Rogelio Baena, the ex-husband of Arnold’s mistress Mildred “Patty” Baena, for a new interview to air in two parts on May 24 and May 25.

Rogelio tells ET he thought Arnold’s alleged love child was his biological child all along and that he learned that the boy was not his son only one week ago. He goes on to call the situation a “betrayal” and “Arnold Schwarzenegger for me, [was] my hero… Maria is destroyed.”

Married to Patty for ten years, today Rogelio says he’d like to tell his son, “I am your father. That’s all.”

That makes me really sad and it just brings home the reality of the situation. The look on this guy’s face makes me want to give him a hug. His son is said to have called his mom’s new boyfriend “dad,” but maybe he just thought of him as a stepfather and always believed this guy was his real father.

In other near-constant news about this story, Radar Online reports that a DNA test confirmed that the boy was Arnold’s son, and that the housekeeper, Mildred Baena, insisted that one be done when the child was a “toddler.” So Baena told Arnold he was the father but continued to let her then-husband believe that he was the dad, too. Meanwhile Arnold was lavishing gifts on the boys and making sure their mom was well compensated for keeping his secret.

ET also has a video of Baena singing a sexy “Happy Birthday” at her niece’s quinceanera, the same party that Arnold bankrolled and attended along with his family.
