Bruce Willis’s wife Emma tweets great photo of Bruce & 5-week-old Mabel Ray

This is probably the cutest, sweetest, loveliest photo that exists of Bruce Willis. Bruce’s wife Emma Heming posted on her Twitter. Sidenote: did you know Emma Heming had a Twitter account? I didn’t. Anyway, Emma, Bruce and five-week-old baby girl Mabel Ray are in Budapest while, presumably, Bruce is working on a film. Perhaps it’s A Good Day To Die Hard, yet another Die Hard sequel? Probably. Emma tagged the photo with “A beautiful day in Budapest with the loves of my life. Daddy and Mabel cracking each other up.” So cute. Is that Bruce actually cracking a smile? Is the tough guy showing some vulnerability?

Even though some might think Bruce would love a son, I think he’s probably pretty happy with his daughters. Little Mabel Ray is the first child for Bruce and Emma together. Bruce has three adult daughters with Demi Moore, as you know – Rumer, 23, Scout, 20, and Tallulah, 18. By most accounts, Bruce is the “stable parent” for those girls. The tabloids even claimed that Scout and Tallulah don’t even have anything to do with Demi at this point, and when they’re in LA, they just stay with their dad permanently. I wonder how the adult girls feel about their newborn half-sister?

PS… I’m looking through Emma’s Twitter feed, and it’s kind of interesting. She tweets a lot about her boobs and nursing the baby, but she also retweeted a funny one from Coca Rocha: “No working model is happy for Brad Pitt and his new gig as the `face’ of Chanel No. 5. #ThingsBitterModelsSay”.

Bruce Willis & Emma Heming welcome a baby girl, Mabel Ray Willis

Bruce Willis & Emma Heming

Emma Heming’s pregnancy seemed to go by very quickly. Maybe that was because we barely saw her, and because Bruce Willis’s ex-wife was the one getting all of the attention for the past six months. Last October, Emma and Bruce announced that they were expecting their first child together, and now Emma has given birth… to a girl! Bruce and his girls… that man will never get a son, will he? Newborn daughter Mabel Ray Willis was welcomed into this world yesterday in LA. Everybody sounds happy and healthy:

Bruce Willis and his wife Emma Hemming welcomed a baby girl, Mabel Ray Willis, Sunday in Los Angeles, Willis’s rep confirms to PEOPLE.

The Die Hard actor and Hemming, a designer-model, “are overjoyed about the newest member of their family. Both mother and baby are healthy and doing beautifully,” says the rep.

Weighing 9 lbs., 1 oz., Mabel Ray is the first child for the couple, who have been married for three years.

Willis has three other daughters, Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah, with his ex-wife, Demi Moore.

[From People]

Bruce just turned 57. Emma is 33 years old. Bruce’s oldest child is Rumer, at 23 years old (Scout is 21, Tallulah is 18). My guess is that Emma and Bruce are just going to have the one kid together, but I always forget how young Emma is. She might get pregnant again, you never know. Bruce might have another chance for a son. What I kind of love about Bruce, though, is that he seems happy to be a father of all girls. By all accounts, he’s a doting and stable father.

Anyway, congrats to Emma, Bruce and baby Mabel Ray. In case you’re wondering, Chad Lowe and Dermot Mulroney also have daughters named Mabel. So it’s something of a trend in Hollywood. It’s such an old-fashioned name! What’s next? “Ethel”? Maple Bacon?

L&S: Bruce Willis is expecting a baby with his wife Emma Heming

wenn5558870

This is interesting – it seems that Bruce Willis and his wife of three years, Emma Heming, are expecting their first child together. Bruce is 56 – Emma is 33 years old. I had actually been wondering why Bruce was keeping so quiet about Demi and Ashton (beyond the odd tabloid report that he’s going to kick Ashton’s ass), and this is probably the answer. Bruce has got his own stuff to concentrate on, and he’s starting a family with his second wife. That’s why he’s not all over this Demi stuff.

While Demi Moore struggles to keep her marriage to Ashton Kutcher together following reports that he’d had an affair, her ex-husband Bruce Willis and his wife are stronger than ever — with some big news on the way!

Life & Style can exclusively reveal that Bruce and his wife, Emma Heming, are expecting a child.

“Emma is showing!” an insider exclusively confirms to Life & Style. Bruce has three daughters with Demi — Rumer, 23, Scout, 20, and Tallulah, 17.

And while Demi, 48, has longed to give Ashton, 33, a baby since they got married in 2005 — and gushed about it as recently as January — she hasn’t been able to get pregnant.

“Emma is living Demi’s dream,” the insider adds. Bruce, 56, and Emma, 33, tied the knot in 2009. This will be the couple’s first child.

[From Life & Style]

Way to make it all about Demi, Life & Style! Can’t we just be happy for Emma and Bruce? Why does it have to be all about Demi? So, congrats to Emma and Bruce. Bruce always seemed like such a great dad to Rumer, Scout and Tallulah, so I’m sure he’s excited about this “late-in-life baby” (for him, for Emma it’s just a “baby”). Do you think Bruce is hoping for a boy this time? Probably.

PS… Jesus, Emma and Demi could be sisters, they look so much alike. Emma looks so much like Demi’s old face, before all of the tweaking.

Bruce Willis & wife Emma Heming’s freaky photo shoot for W Magazine

bruceheader
Bruce Willis and his new wife model/actress Emma Heming decided to pose together in W Magazine. It’s one of the freakiest photo shoots I’ve ever seen. The whole thing’s very “dark,” dirty, industrial, and trying-too-hard weird. Emma’s topless in some of the pictures, Bruce is wearing red leather gloves in some, there are a couple of images of deranged clowns and the whole thing seems like “Scenes From The Post-apocalyptic Dystopian Hellscape… With Naughty Clowns and Good Boobs”. Perhaps this is why Bruce and Emma decided to do the photo shoot? To show us all that they like it freaky, with some red leather gloves, topless, with a clown, during the apocalypse. As CB muttered, perhaps Emma needs some modeling work.

The interview is pretty interesting, bruce and Emma both talk a lot about their life together, their careers, and about politics. Bruce, famously an outspoken Republican, says that he voted for Obama last year, and talks more about his tireless advocacy on behalf of reforming the foster system in America.

Regarding their marriage, Bruce sounds like an old fart and Emma sounds like she’s very happy to do whatever Bruce wants. Oh, there’s also this little tidbit: “Emma has since concluded that acting is not her thing—something that her husband finds ‘refreshing.’ Instead, she plans to stick to modeling.” I read that as “Now that they’re married, Emma doesn’t have to pretend to be an actress any more.” Here’s the full interview from W, and I pulled some of more interesting parts:

Bruce’s new political philosophy: “[Bruce] says he voted enthusiastically for Barack Obama in the last election, and his musings on politics the day we meet sound like those of a bona fide bleeding heart. “There are 500,000 kids in the foster-care program at any given time, and it could all be helped by money,” says Bruce, who became the national spokesman for children in foster care during George W. Bush’s presidency and will continue in that role during the current administration. “Just give us half a billion, and the foster system could be enormously helped. Just like education could be helped by money. When you’re talking about $800 billion to bail out people who made automobiles, when you could be helping kids, things need to be reprioritized.”

Bruce on marriage and love: “I went from ‘F-ck love’ to ‘Love is truly the answer.’ I spent the last 10 years single and, for the most part, unhappy. In a dark place. I never thought that being with someone else was the answer. I would say, ‘I’m alone, but I’m not lonely.’ But I was just kidding myself. Then I started hanging around Emma, and on a day-to-day basis my life became much happier.”

Emma on their compatibility: “We have so many things in common. We’re self-made, we came from the same background, and we went to work and became self-sufficient… I’m laughing from morning till night with him.”

Bruce on his daughters: “They’re such smart kids. Way smarter than I was. They campaigned for Obama. They’re involved in the world, in politics. They know exactly what Hollywood is, and they know what it’s not, and they don’t take any of that very seriously.”

On His Feelings Toward Emma: “I hear so many people in relationships say, ‘I just need a couple of days away, or even an hour away.’ But I don’t want to be away from Emma at all. It’s the most singular relationship I’ve ever had in my life.”

[From W Magazine]

Even though it would be easy to make a couple of cuts about the age difference between Emma and Bruce, they sort of make sense together. I don’t think either of them has illusions about who the other person is, and I think they knew what they were getting. Perhaps it’s not the stereotypical image we have of an older, rich man and his young golddigger wife. Or maybe it is, and it just works for them. I think the marriage will probably work out in the long run – in fact, the only thing not working for me is this photo shoot.

Photos are by Steven Klein for W, where they have many more.

Bruce Willis says he met new wife Emma at the gym, not casting call

wenn5289172
Bruce Willis, 54, had a fun appearance on the David Letterman show last night. He came out wearing a hat made of rubber bands and joked to Dave that it was a new product he had out called “the concussion buster.” He wasn’t promoting anything but he kept the gags coming and explained how he met his new wife, Victoria’s Secret model Emma Heming, now Emma Willis, 30:

Willis: We met at the gym… in Los Angeles. I was checking [it] out to go see if it would be good for me. She was coming out and our good friend Gunnar Peterson… he’s the trainer, owner of the gym. She was walking out and I said “Gunnar, let me just say one thing to you. Wow! Who is that?”

At the time, we had to remain friends for about three years… She had a guy…

Then she became available. I called her up and we went on a date.

Letterman: What did you do on the first date?

Willis: Dinner, few drinks, um… [pauses]
No, no, I saved it. I saved it up, I was very polite.

[Roughly transcribed from Bruce Willis' appearance on The Late Show, aired 5/6/09]

When asked what Emma does for a living, Willis said “She tried acting briefly, and didn’t care for it. Does a little modeling now and looks after me ’cause I need a little looking after.”

Bruce said that Emma “fits in like a Swiss watch” with the rest of his family and told Dave that Emma was backstage. The camera cut to her and she smiled, waved and mouthed “I love you.”

Dave said “she looks a little younger” and Bruce joked that she “turns 18 next week.” When the camera showed Emma again she looked kind of embarrassed.

Willis joked that he was promoting his “small but pivotal role” as the next door neighbor in Beyonce’s film Obsessed and they showed a fake clip of him in a white undershirt, big belly and pushing a lawn mover as he watched the real fight scene from the movie through a window.

There didn’t seem to be a real point to Willis’ appearance as he doesn’t have a film out and was just shooting the breeze with Dave. He did explain how he met Emma, though, and that may have been an attempt to clear up a story that came out in the NY Post about six weeks ago that he met Emma when trying to cast roles for his 2007 movie, Perfect Stranger, and find a girlfriend at the same time.

BRUCE Willis, 54, and his new wife, Emma Heming, 30, didn’t meet through friends, as his pals have insisted in fact, the superstar actor hand-picked her as a perfect stranger.

An impeccable source tells Page Six: “During the casting of ‘Perfect Stranger’ [the suspense movie Willis made with Halle Berry two years ago], Bruce was very involved with the casting. In fact, you could say he was extremely involved no matter how minor the role.”

At Willis’ request, calls were placed to modeling agencies to fill the roles of extras and minor speaking parts.

Our casting source said, “He personally went through head shots and when the girls were called in to ‘read,’ he was there in the meeting. It was odd for the star of a movie to do so, but at the time he was single and I guess he needed a date.”

The casting sessions/blind dates went well enough. “He started dating [model] Tamara Feldman, with whom he coincidentally enough had a sex scene,” our insider said.

Then, Heming was selected for a small speaking part. Willis “started dating both Tamara and Emma but obviously, Emma eventually won out,” the source said.

[From The NY Post]

It sounds like Internet dating but with the added advantage that the entire pool is full of beautiful young women. However Bruce met Emma, it ended up working out well for them. Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise are rumored to have had a similar “casting call” start to their relationship, and they’re still together a few years later. It’s kind of their own business how they met, but you understand why celebrities feel they need to come up with a good story if it was more of a calculated effort than a “cute meet.”

I couldn’t find the full interview with Willis on Letterman online, but CBS has a highlight on the Late Show’s website featuring his fake role in Obsessed.

Bruce Willis & Emma Heming officially wed in Beverly Hills

fp_1969851_willis_bruce_rgo
Bruce Willis and Emma Heming have made their marriage official. The couple were married last weekend in Turks & Caicos, and there was some question as to whether that island wedding would be recognized in America. So the couple were wed in a civil ceremony Friday in Beverly Hills. Emma is a smart girl – she knows the importance of making sure every “t” is crossed and “i” is dotted. Good for her.

The report that came out on their civil ceremony claims that Emma and Bruce met “through friends”, directly contradicting the report earlier this week that claimed they met on the casting couch. As I consider that casting couch report, though, the timeline didn’t add up. OK! claimed that Emma was trying out for a part on Perfect Stranger, which was released in 2007 and filmed in 2006. That would have meant they met nearly three years ago, when they claim they’ve only been together a year. Interesting… if you enjoy romantic conspiracies.

It’s official: Bruce Willis and Emma Heming are husband and wife.

After their wedding celebration in the Caribbean last weekend, the actor and the model/actress were wed in a civil ceremony Friday at a friend’s house in Beverly Hills, his rep, Paul Bloch, tells PEOPLE. “They could not be happier,” Bloch says.

The couple, who met through mutual friends, have been together for more than a year. They said their first “I do’s” on March 21 in a small ceremony at Willis’s home in Parrot Cay, Turks & Caicos, with his ex-wife Demi Moore and her husband Ashton Kutcher among the guests.

From People Magazine

Many commenters (and tabloids) have been making a big deal about how Emma seems to look a lot like Demi Moore, Bruce’s ex-wife. I see a vague resemblance, especially if you compare Emma to how Demi used to look about twenty years ago (before Demi allegedly had all of that work done). I think a lot of the comparisons are based on their coloring – both women have beautiful olive skin and dark hair. So, does Bruce Willis have a type? Maybe, maybe not. He’s dated blondes before, but he’s only willing to marry the brunette beauties.

Did Bruce Willis meet his new wife on the casting couch?

27964PCN_Willis

Many people were surprised by Bruce Willis’s weekend nuptials to Emma Heming. I looked at the story with an “oh, I bet she’s knocked up” sort of attitude. The celebrity weeklies and gossip sites are scrambling to find some dirt on this girl. And what they found is a little funny, because I seem to recall a similar story being told about Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Apparently Bruce met Emma on a “casting call” for his 2007 film Perfect Stranger. Casting call, eh? Sure it wasn’t the “casting couch”? OK! has more:

It’s always been a bit unclear as to how Bruce Willis met his new wife, model Emma Heming. Reps for the actor have said the pair have mutual friends, but a new story has a slightly wilder tale to tell.

A story from Wednesday morning’s NY Post alleges that the Die Hard superstar actually met the 30-year-old beauty when he was casting for lovely ladies to star in his 2007 erotic techno-thriller flop Perfect Stranger.

“He personally went through head shots and when the girls were called in to ‘read,’ he was there in the meeting,” the Post quotes a source as saying. “It was odd for the star of a movie to do so, but at the time he was single and I guess he needed a date.”

Though he didn’t begin dating Heming right away (that honor went to another actress, Tamara Feldman), she did score a minor role in the movie. The story claims that Willis eventually began dating both Emma and Tamara until he ultimately made his choice. Not surprisingly, Bruce’s rep had nothing to say on the claims made by the newspaper.

[From OK! Magazine]

Emma didn’t even get the part! That girl doesn’t know how to work the casting couch. Or maybe she does – why put the “work” into getting the part, when you could just snag a rich husband. Am I right, ladies? Seriously, am I right? I have no idea how any of that “snagging a rich husband” stuff works, or else I would be drinking pina coladas on some tropical island right now. I’m so jealous of Emma. She’s a lot smarter than me.

Bruce Willis & Emma Heming are married in Turks & Caicos

Last week, People Magazine and a few other sources were reporting that Bruce Willis and his model girlfriend were engaged and planning a to have a wedding very soon. Shock of shocks, the rumors were true. Bruce and Emma married this weekend at Bruce’s house in Parrot Cay, Turks & Caicos, the same house Bruce lent to Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck for their wedding in 2005.

People Magazine has the confirmation of the wedding, and they report that Bruce’s ex-wife Demi and her husband Ashton Kutcher were in attendance, as well as Bruce and Demi’s three daughters. Sounds really nice:

Talk about a family affair!

With ex-wife Demi Moore and her husband Ashton Kutcher among the guests, Bruce Willis said “I do” with model and actress Emma Heming on Saturday, PEOPLE confirms.

The small wedding ceremony took place at the actor’s home in Parrot Cay, Turks & Caicos.

Also present among the small group of guests were Moore and Willis’s daughters, Rumer Willis, 20, Scout, 17, and Tallullah Belle, 15.

The wedding coincided with Willis’s birthday: The actor turned 54 on Thursday. Heming is 32.

The couple, who met through mutual friends, have been together for more than a year and will be having a civil ceremony when they return to California, according to the actor’s rep.

From People Magazine

That’s surprising to learn that they’ve been together a year already. I had no idea they were together, much less serious enough to marry. I’m just going to say it – who thinks Emma is knocked up? This wedding has a whiff of the shotgun to it. Not that there’s anything wrong with that!

Congratulations to the happy couple!
