I was looking at the sordid collection of photos of Madonna and Jesus Luz, on the handful of occasions they’ve been photographed out together, and I just noticed something interesting. Madge consistently makes Jesus walk several paces behind her. Now, she might be doing that on purpose, so that photographers won’t get that many shots of them in the same frame. She might also do it so that her head will look bigger, and thus, she will “engulf” the frame. Or should could just do it because Jesus is her bitch. A little from column A, a little….

Anyhoodle, according to British sources, Madge is flying down to Rio de Janeiro to meet Jesus Luz’s parents. Well… let me say it a different way. Madge is definitely flying to Brazil, but I don’t really know what is on Madge’s agenda. What I do know is that Jesus’s mom is 15 years younger than Madge. I know I should be all rah-rah-feminist about that, and generally I’m all “live and let live” with the whole cougar thing, but when your girlfriend is 15 years older than your mom, clearly there are deeper issues. And I would say that if the genders were reversed too! In any case, The Sun is reporting that this whole meeting-the-parents junk could signal Madge and Jesus’ engagement. For real.

MADONNA is set to fly to Brazil to meet the parents of her toyboy lover JESUS LUZ for the first time – fuelling talk she’ll marry him.

Pals say the star, 51, is “slightly on edge” as his mum Cristiane Regina da Silva is 15 YEARS her junior.

But they reckon Madge meeting the devout Christian and Jesus’s dad Luis Heitor Pinto da Luz is a sign that “an engagement could be on the cards”.

A close family pal added yesterday: “Madonna really does love and need Jesus – and she does not hold all the power in their relationship. He grew up with strong Christian beliefs.

“He wants to marry and be taken seriously. She doesn’t want to lose Jesus and so the visit to his parents is her way of saying she will make this relationship permanent.

“He wants proof of commitment and he wants her to make an honest man of him.”

The couple are said to have had a series of rows after Madge said in a recent TV interview that she’d “rather get run over by a train” than marry again, following her divorce from Brit Guy Ritchie, 41.

Jesus, 23 – who abandoned his Christian beliefs to convert to her Kabbalah faith – “begged her to reconsider”.

He also insisted she meet his hairdresser mum and hospital worker dad in Rio de Janeiro – where the couple met – and she has now applied for a visa. She is due to arrive tomorrow, say locals. Twice-wed Madge’s biographer Randy Taraborrelli has insisted the pair will marry.

He said: “Madonna is telling close friends and family that ‘I definitely see myself marrying him. It’s on the table’.”

Yeah, I don’t really buy the general “they’re getting married!” story, mainly because when last asked (by David Letterman) about getting remarried, Madge said she would “rather get run over by a train than marry again.” And I believe her. I will buy that Madge is meeting his parents and I’ll buy that she might be a little nervous. Madonna is self-aware enough to know how badly she comes across to people at times, so hopefully she’ll tone it down if she wants to make a good impression on her boyfriend’s parents. Who are younger than her.

UPDATE: Page Six has Madge denying that she’s in Brazil to meet Jesus’s parents: “I am going there strictly for fund raising and humanitarian purposes.” Madge also will meet “with the governor of the state of Rio de Janeiro, Sergio Cabral, and will sponsor a documentary about kids living in the squalid hillside slums.” Seriously? And Madge couldn’t fit in one dinner with Jesus’s parents?

Kate Hudson is the cover girl for the December issue of Elle Magazine UK. Kate’s promoting her role in Nine, but she’s also promoting her recent “weight loss” (yes, I was surprised too) and her relationship with Alex Rodriguez. I find the photos to be very sketchy, but maybe that’s just me. They’ve got her greased up and her body looks very, very athletic – like she’s a female bodybuilder or something. Or Madonna. I don’t care for the look or the styling, but whatever. In the interview (excerpt from the Daily Mail), Kate talks about how she is not engaged to Alex Rodriguez, but how she is totally in love with the idea of Botox. Yikes.

Kate Hudson has cast off her wholesome girl-next-door image in a new series of raunchy pictures. The stunning shots show the blonde actress oiled up in a black swimsuit with satin gloves and feline eye make-up.

Kate, whose mother is Hollywood actress Goldie Hawn, is also snapped with the same eye-catching make-up teamed with tousled hair and a sexy belted dress.

The 30-year-old, who has been dating New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez for six months, revealed she has given up alcohol in preparation for a film role in which she stars as a terminally ill woman who falls for her doctor.

The star, who lost 20lb, said: ‘I love my glass of wine. I love tequila. To be in New York for two weeks and not have one beverage, I’m not sure I’ve ever done that!’

Kate also used the interview to set the record straight and deny that she is engaged to Alex after she was reportedly spotted with a ring on her finger.

She told Elle: ‘Did you know that it was this one, on my right hand? I hear about this and I’m like “Why would I even respond? What would I say if you’re going to lie about something ridiculous?”’

‘And if you really did your job, you’d look at the pictures taken that day and realize [the ring] was on my right hand.’

The mother-of-one also revealed: ‘I love being a girl. I love clothes and I love the rituals of facials and body treatments, all the stuff girls get, make-up, scarves, hats. And we’re like a tribe. That’s just our nature. You get a group of women together and, somehow, we keep it together. I love that we can be that powerful, as a group. Men, you know, it’s survival of the fittest.’

Kate, whose film Nine is out in December, admitted she would be willing to try Botox in the future.

She said: ‘Everyone’s so obsessed with who gets Botox, but it’s great! Are you kidding? The fact that women can avoid going under the knife and get a little Botox treat and not have to worry about it? I’m glad it’s there for when it’s time.’

I think Kate is saying she hasn’t had Botox, but will when her time comes. Maybe she’s trying not to be judgy because her mom uses it? Who knows? As far as the engagement stuff goes – well, I’ll admit that I do think Kate wants to be engaged, and wants to marry Alex Rodriguez. It probably wasn’t an engagement ring she was wearing, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t up for it. I was actually thinking about Kate and A-Rod over the weekend, and I came to uncomfortable conclusion that A-Rod might be the healthiest relationship Kate has been in for a while. That’s not some great leap, but it is interesting. In any case, I’ve got twenty bucks on their engagement in the next two months. Any takers?

Is Mary-Kate Olsen engaged to her longtime boyfriend Nate Lowman? Of course, if you ask Star Magazine. And the proposal was just as cheesy and cliché as only a Star writer can come up with. Truffles. Rings. Classic dialogue. Including such memorable romantic proposal lines as, “Are you sure you want to do this?”

Mary-Kate Olsen and her artist beau, Nate Lowman, have been talking marriage for a while. Yet when he actually popped the question during the couple’s early October visit to Paris, the moment was sweeter than she could have imagined – and Star has all the details!

The setting was the restaurant at the Hotel Le Bristol, where the two were enjoying a four-course gourmet dinner. “At the end of the meal, Nate gave her a truffle box – she loves truffles, so she went to try one right away,” says a pal. “But inside, she found a little jewelry box instead. When she opened it, there was a beautiful diamond engagement ring!”

Mary-Kate’s reaction? “Nate’s this grungy, cool artist type, so she was shocked, but in a good way, by what was happening. Then he smiled and asked her to marry him and added, ‘Are you sure you want to do this?’ Mary-Kate said, ‘You know I want to do this!’”

After excitedly telling her best pals and sister Ashley – “She thinks Nate’s perfect for Mary-Kate,” says the friend – the megabcks babe, 23, has leapt into planning the wedding. “Their entire time in Paris was so romantic for both of them, and Mary-Kate was absolutely swept off her feet by Nate’s proposal. She’s so thrilled she can barely keep it quiet!”

So basically Nate said, “Will you marry me?” then followed it up with “Are you sure you want to do this?” How romantic. Isn’t that what you say when you’re getting married for the wrong reasons? Like to save the relationship or because she’s knocked up? I’m not saying she is, I’m just saying that’s about the most unromantic question I can think of. Obviously I don’t believe for a second that Star got a perfectly-retold version of the story with completely accurate quotes. What I love is that their writer obviously filled it in with the way she thought it would go. Which involves wooing of the type most of us fantasized about around the age of eleven.

The print edition of the National Enquirer has an official “there’s no truth to any of this” denial from Mary-Kate’s rep. However the Enquirer (who I’m much more likely to believe than Star any day) also has a lengthy article about the prenup that’s supposedly being hammered out by Mary-Kate’s lawyers. They don’t even sensationalize it – they essentially say Nate understands that Mary-Kate has a $900 million fortune to protect, and he’ll sign a reasonably prenup. The only drama comes in from his friends supposedly telling him to hold out for a lot of money in case of divorce, their reasoning being “What’s $50 million to someone worth $900 million?” If there’s any truth to that, then Nate’s friends are morons. I doubt they’re actually engaged because Star’s story was clearly written by a fifth grader who’s read one too many Judy Blume novels. But I bet they’re working their way there, and will probably be engaged by the end of this year. Oh and I really don’t buy that Mary-Kate eats truffles. That’s the biggest tip-off, right there.

Kate Hudson wants to get married! So say the tabloids this week. I think most of the stories stem from a magazine photo shoot Kate did last week on the streets of New York. We don’t have access to those pictures (Pop Sugar does here), but Kate was photographed in a really beautiful wedding dress, looking bouncy and happy. Thus, a million tabloid stories are born about Kate being “ready” to marry Alex Rodriguez, variations on her moving too fast, et cetera. Of course, those rumors were already pretty steady. Because we know Kate. We know she moves too fast. But what we don’t really know is whether or not she’s this clingy, needy “I have to get married right now!” girl, or whether she’s the man-juggling succubus who destroys men’s souls with her hypnotic charms. Eh. A little from column A, a little from column B. Anyway, here’s In Touch’s report:

Think A-Rod can take a hint? Kate Hudson has been pressuring her boyfriend Alex Rodriguez to give her a reason to wear a wedding dress for real.

“She brings up the subject almost every day. Kate is ready to marry Alex and have a baby with him,” her pal says.

Another friend of the couple adds that Kate has made sure their children hang out together. “They’re already like a family… They’d love to have more kids in the future.”

The question is when. While the pair went house-hunting in NYC together recently, they were also spotted arguing about their relationship. A friend of A-Rod’s says that Kate’s clingy ways have made him hesitant to seal the deal.

“Alex loves Kate but he hasn’t even been divorced for a year, so he feels it’s too soon to get married again,” his pal says, adding that his solutions isn’t exactly romantic. “She wants a commitment, so he might just propose to buy some time.”

I don’t think Kate is this girl, this “let’s talk about getting married every day” girl. But I probably think that because I have some strange affection for Kate. I like the way she doesn’t ever play the victim, and I like that she seems to know what she wants to get out of a relationship, and if she doesn’t get it, she leaves. So… maybe she does want to marry Alex. I could buy that. I could also buy that Alex really wants to settle down with her. He seems less douchey now that he’s with her, so the relationship is working wonders!

Kate Hudson and Alex Rodriguez seem to be getting closer by the minute. After their summer fling turned into something more substantial, it seems Kate and A-Rod can’t get away from baby bump rumors, moving-in-together rumors, and now engagement rumors. That’s right… OK! Magazine is reporting that A-Rod and Kate are so serious about each other that they’re planning a New Year’s wedding in Aspen. Which is exactly how Kate married Chris Robinson - although technically they had their ceremony in Old Snowmass, Colorado. But still, A-Rod thinks it would be nice to get married in front of the fireplace… and he’s already asked for Goldie Hawn and Kate’s step-dad Kurt Russell’s blessings for the marriage.

Kate Hudson and Alex Rodriguez are serious about making a life together — and according to a pal, the smitten New York Yankees slugger is ready to make the Bride Wars star his wife, even getting mom Goldie Hawn involved. “Alex called Goldie and asked if she and [her partner] Kurt Russell would give their blessing to his asking Kate to marry him,” the pal tells OK!.

“Alex is planning on doing it around New Year’s. Usually Kate goes away with her family to Aspen, and Alex thought it would be romantic to do it front of a fireplace while snow was falling outside.”

Already acting like a married couple, A-Rod and Kate brought Ryder, her 5-year-old son with rocker ex-husband Chris Robinson, along to look at luxury properties in NYC’s trendy Greenwich Village, SoHo and TriBeCa neighborhoods. The previous week, Kate played mom to Natasha, 4, and Ella, 17 months, A-Rod’s daughters with his ex-wife Cynthia, as the pair toured six-bedroom homes on the West Coast, where the couple plans to reside during his off season.

Although Kate’s rep claims persistent rumors that the blonde beauty is already engaged and pregnant are “absolutely not true,” friends still worry that the headstrong actress is moving way too quickly.

“She did it with Chris, Owen Wilson and now Alex,” notes another insider. “[Kate's] a hopeless romantic. She always jumps in head first and ignores all the red flags.”

Is Kate moving fast? Yeah… but she always does that, and it sort of works for her. Honestly, I think she might have even been moving slower in this A-Rod relationship than she did with other boyfriends. That’s what makes me think this relationship with A-Rod might be more serious than the others. Kate seems to be making an effort, but A-Rod seems to be trying too. I actually think this OK! report may have some merit, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Kate and Alex got hitched within the next six months or so. Now, I do wonder what Goldie really thinks about all of this. There were rumors that Goldie doesn’t care for Kate’s neverending man-drama, so she might simply be happy to see her daughter hooked up with someone relatively stable.

Even though I’m a big fan, I don’t really follow Chris Noth’s personal life. This is mainly because I’ve always sort of assumed that he’s not as cool as he seems on Sex and the City and Law & Order. Not that Mr. Big is really that cool – he seems like a jerk, if truth be told. But I love Detective Logan. He’s such a great cop. And he stands up for the disenfranchised, too! Sigh. By the way, you know that Chris has left Criminal Intent for good – and Vincent D’Onofrio is on the way out too! That just leaves Jeff Golblum, who is woefully miscast. We need to petition Dick Wolf to bring back Goran and Logan!

Anyway, since I don’t really follow Chris Noth’s personal life, this came as a complete surprise to me. I remembered something vague about him having a kid with his girlfriend, and now it looks like he’s actually going to marry his baby-mama. Her name is Tara Wilson, and she’s 27 years old. Chris is 54. She is exactly half his age. They have a son together, Orion Noth, born in January of 2008.

Sex and the City star Chris Noth and his longtime girlfriend, actress Tara Wilson, are engaged, Entertainment Tonight Canada is reporting.

Noth, 54, broke the news to the show Sunday during an interview at the London, Ontario, outpost of Once Upon A Tea Cup, a teahouse of which he and Canadian-born Wilson, 27, are partners.

The couple, who met when Wilson worked at Noth’s New York City bar, the Cutting Room, have a son, Orion Christopher Noth, who turns two in January.

In mid-September, Noth denied a U.K. report that he and Wilson were engaged at the time.

A rep for Noth did not immediately return a request seeking comment.

Congratulations to the happy couple! Although I’m biting my tongue to avoid saying something like “no fool like an old fool…” I’m actually very happy for Chris. Though he’s probably not as cool as Det. Logan (swoon), I still think Chris seems like a pretty nice guy. Maybe Tara is his soulmate. I’m not sure how many more rounds this Penelope Cruz engagement/pregnancy rumor has. At some point, I think people are going to get tired of running variations on the same old story that Penelope keeps denying, but there’s yet another new round today. The NY Daily News’ Rush & Malloy are reporting that while Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem definitely weren’t engaged before, they totally are now. They’re also not bothering to do another round of “she’s totally pregnant” crap, probably because Penelope just denied the rumors again in November’s Vanity Fair. Apparently, even Penelope’s friends are skeptical of this denial, but whatever. She’s not telling us, and at some point, even I get exhausted with the baby bump game. The most interesting slice of gossip from this Rush & Malloy report – in my mind – is that Javier wasn’t interested in adopting a baby from India when Penelope had her heart set on it:

The fiercely private couple is still playing coy about whether or not they’re dating. But, take it from us, they are in fact engaged. Rumors that they might be betrothed have been floating around since April. Not true then. True now.

“They’re telling friends they will get married,” says a pal, who heard the news directly from one of them. A wedding is bound to comfort Cruz’s Catholic parents, considering stubborn rumors that she’s pregnant.

But she continues to deny she’s with child – even to friends. Despite a photo showing the smiling pair leaving an OB/GYN clinic in Madrid last month, they’ve been telling friends to hold off on the baby gifts.

“They say the pregnancy stories aren’t true,” says another skeptical friend. Publicists for the stars declined to comment.

Cruz professed ambivalence about being a wife as recently as August. “I don’t know if I believe in marriage,” the actress, who’d weathered the glare of her romance with Tom Cruise, told the UK’s Psychologies magazine. “I believe in family, love and children.”
She added, “When I [have children], I want to do it really well. I want it to be my best project in life.”

While many reports have time-stamped Cruz and Bardem’s romance as starting in 2007, few know they first fell for each other in 1992 while making “Jamon, Jamon,” where their fiery sex scenes were improved by some real-life rehearsals.

Cruz broke it off with Bardem after the film, but they teamed again for 1997′s “Live Flesh.” By the time Woody Allen cast them in “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” both were older, wiser and international superstars. They fell in love all over again. Cruz’s convincing performance as Bardem’s virago ex earned her an Oscar. (He came home with one, too, for “No Country for Old Men.”)

Some reports claimed they’d broken up last year, alleging she was mad at him for breaking a promise to take a year off from work. “Penelope is really angry because she turned down a few really good roles because she was so committed to their sabbatical,” one source was quoted as saying.

Her brother Eduardo contended Cruz was also disappointed that Bardem wouldn’t go along with her plan to adopt a baby from India. Despite those reports, the two have remained inseparable, doing a very bad job of pretending to be friends. From the sound of things, they’re finally ready to give up their ruse.

I think they’re definitely together, and definitely serious about each other. I’d also buy that she’s pregnant before I’d buy that they’re engaged. It doesn’t seem like either of them are the traditional white-wedding type, and I don’t understand how any woman could be with Javier for any length of time without getting knocked up. I’m sure this story isn’t as interesting as I find it, but this relationship has been intriguing me from the start. Back in 2006, Sin City director Robert Rodriguez met actress Rose McGowan while he was directing Grindhouse. Within a few months, Robert’s 16-year marriage to his wife and producing partner Elizabeth Avellan was over, and Robert and Rose were together. Robert later claimed that he and Elizabeth had been separated before he got together with Rose, but there was no legal paperwork filed, and I always found the timing a bit sketchy. Still, Robert and Elizabeth have five children together, and Elizabeth has remained Robert’s producing partner, so maybe their eventual 2008 divorce was totally amicable.

Since Rose and Robert got together – even getting engaged in 2007 – Robert has tried to make her into his muse and star of several projects that never quite got off the ground. There were rumors that no studio want to pay for any film with Rose in the starring role – and Robert’s inability to create a project for his lover is said to have caused considerable tension in their relationship. Now Radar is reporting that Rose has called off the engagement!

Rose McGowan has broken off her engagement to director Robert Rodriguez an inside source told RadarOnline.com exclusively.

McGowan recently filmed Rodriguez’s action-packed Machete- which co-stars Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Alba and Robert De Niro- in Austin, Texas and will next star in the she-devil comic book adaptation Red Sonja. Rodriguez is set to produce the film so maybe a reconciliation isn’t completely out of the cards?

Reps for the couple did not immediately respond for request to comment.

The couple officially announced their engagement in October 2007 after becoming romantically involved in 2006 on the set of the Planet Terror segment of Grindhouse, which was directed by Rodriguez and starred McGowan as a stripper with a machine-gun leg.

It was widely speculated at the time that their relationship was the reason Rodriguez divorced his wife of 16 years, producer Elizabeth Avellán. The director later issued a statement saying that he and Avellán had separated long before production began on the film.

McGowan, 36, and Rodriguez, 41, went public with their relationship in May 2007 when they arrived hand-in-hand at the Cannes Film Festival. They have been together ever since, despite false rumors that they had split up last year after financing for a Rodriguez-planned Barbarella remake starring McGowan fell through.

Of course we don’t know what really happened. My guess is that it was about their careers more than their love. Robert was totally enamored with Rose – and he really did try his best to get studios to pony up major projects with Rose in the lead, like Barbarella, which was dead on arrival with Rose in the lead. There’s also Red Sonja, a film that Robert announced last year, but still hasn’t been made. Rose just took a supporting part in Robert’s Machete – and her billing is lower than Lindsay Lohan’s. Yeah, I would question an engagement if my director fiancée billed me lower than Lohan too.

In case you missed it, Khloe Kardashian has been dating LA Laker Lamar Odom for about a month. Did I say “dating”? I meant “they just got engaged”. They announced it Friday, when sources spread it around E!, People and Us Weekly that Khloe and Lamar were looking to get married “within two weeks” because Lamar wanted a wedding before he went into his basketball training.

Now we have an official date for the nuptials. Save the date for… Sunday. This Sunday. According to People‘s sources, “The ceremony is being thrown together so quickly that guests are being notified by phone that formal invitations will arrive this week.” Lamar got Chloe a ring over the weekend – and they did the ring-shopping together, because after only a month of dating, it’s not like Lamar knows Khloe’s middle name, much less her ring size.

Khloe Kardashian is not wasting time on wedding planning!

The reality star plans to wed beau Lamar Odom, a forward on the Los Angeles Lakers, this Sunday, Usmagazine.com has confirmed.

“Khloe and Lamar want to get married before Lamar has to go away for training, and the [basketball] season starts up [this fall],” a source tells Us of the couple. (The Lakers are set to play their first preseason game on Oct. 7.)

After only about a month of dating, Kardashian, 25, and Odom, 29 — who met at a party in L.A. — will be tying the knot in the L.A. area.

“They are hoping to pull together a wedding … so they can get married and have time for a honeymoon,” the source told Us.

Earlier this month, Odom gushed to Us that he was “very happy” with the star of Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami.

“Khloe is smart and beautiful and that is very hard to find,” he added.

At Hollywood club Guys and Dolls earlier this month, Kardashian “would pull him up to dance and steal kisses here and there…every time a good song came on,” a witness tells Us.

Odom recently signed a four-year, $33 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers and helped the team win the NBA Championship in June.

I could talk a lot about how they barely know each other, and how Khloe is just trying to one-up her sisters, all of that stuff. But it’s not really important. I don’t think their impulsiveness and stupidity is really harming anyone, so live and let live. What is there to say? They’re going to go through with this no matter how much we tut-tut them. How cute is John Krasinski? I wish he would wear his hair slicked-back like this more often. It makes him appear a little goofy, but still really, really hot. You know what makes him ever better? The fact that he talked openly about his engagement to Emily Blunt! He confirmed it to Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet, and said what so many girls wish they heard about them, “You know when you know.” Sigh. I love him. Unfortunately, Emily didn’t walk the red carpet with John – she was in Toronto, promoting The Young Victoria:

“She’s a wonderful girl. Someone had to do it…it was a tough gig, but somebody had to do it,” he joked. “So many people are angry at me.”

A rep for the couple confirmed their engagement in late August.

Krasinski, 29, says he had a feeling it was time to propose this summer after about 10 months of dating.

“So many people say, ‘You know when you know,’ and it’s true,” Krasinski said. “It’s all true.”

“She’s up in Toronto,” he said. “Her film [romantic drama The Young Victoria] is closing the film festival.”

It doesn’t sound like they’re fighting over wedding plans, as the Enquirer would have us believe. Yeah, I didn’t really buy that – they both seem like really sweet, nice, easy-going people. Alright, Emily seems like she might be a ballbuster, but I doubt it’s anything too bad. I also think there’s still a possibility that Emily is pregnant. No judgment! I think it’s sweet that, theoretically, John Krasinski might be the kind of guy who would immediately propose to a girl he knocked up. But what do I know? It could be that they’re both very traditional, and want to wait before the vows are exchanged before getting pregnant. How… old-school.
