I know that Gemma Arterton isn’t particularly well known, but I find this story interesting as I remember covering her wedding. Arterton, 27, shot to fame as a Bond girl in Quantum of Solace and she’s currently co-starring that that terrible-looking fantasy action movie with Jeremy Renner, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. (Checking the box office, it didn’t do that well domestically but will more than recover its budget with worldwide ticket sales, so it wasn’t a flop or anything.)

Anyway lovely Gemma married an Italian stunt man named Stefano Catelli, 39, in the summer of 2010. It was kind of a fairy-tale romance in that Catelli played Daniel Craig’s body double in Quantum of Solace, and the two went on to marry in a “secret” ceremony at the ruins of a castle in Andalusia. The photos were just gorgeous and I’m including some of them here. Sadly, it didn’t last for these two! After a little over two years they’re getting a divorce.

The actress is said to be “devastated” after her two-year marriage to Stefano Catelli came to an end.

“It’s sad, but her marriage is over,” she said.

“Gemma thought Stefano was the one. He really wore the trousers in the relationship, such was her devotion to him. It happened a couple of months ago. It was a mutual decision.

“Gemma’s gorgeous and there are scores of men who will be begging her for a date. But she’s in no rush to move on.”

Over the weekend, Gemma has been spending time with her friend Bradley Cooper, 38, as her pal was keen to cheer her up.

They enjoyed an evening at London’s Rose club after a party on Friday, and spent Saturday at a pre-BAFTA party at the city’s nightspot Annabel’s.

“Brad and Gemma have become firm friends and, as she’s feeling down at the moment, he wanted to show her a good time while he’s in London,” a source said.

“After hanging out at Harvey Weinstein’s Silver Linings bash at Little House Restaurant they decided to share a car to Rose, where they spent a few hours partying together at a table.”

No! I don’t want Gemma to get with stupid greasy Bradley Cooper. He is a dud of a sex symbol. Kaiser wants her to hook up with Jeremy Renner, they would be hot together. She’s so gorgeous she would be hot with anyone basically.

As for Gemma’s divorce, she got married relatively young for a celebrity, and she was just at the beginning of her career. Now she’s earning leading roles and there was probably too much stress, and temptation on both sides, for her marriage to last. They also come from different cultures, which may have complicated things. At least she didn’t have any kids with this guy who would be affected by a divorce.

Here are some photos of last night’s LA premiere of Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. Have you seen the ads for that? This movie looks AWFUL! Like, it’s not even going to be campy fun. It just looks terrible. Anyway, I’m including photos of three of the film’s stars, Jeremy Renner (Hansel), Gemma Arterton (Gretel) and Famke Janssen (I have no idea what she plays). Gemma looks gorgeous and amazing. Famke looks… well… I’m not sure this shade of green is her color, let’s say that. As for Jeremy… I’m surprised he walked the carpet alone. No baby-mama, no “roommate”! As Radar revealed earlier this week, Jeremy’s baby-mama is a 22-year-old Canadian woman, and even though she and Jeremy are no longer dating, she’s still living with him (and his roommate!). The Enquirer’s print & online edition had more details about the arrangement:

Jeremy Renner has one of Hollywood’s wildest living arrangements! The 42-year-old bachelor is enjoying his own modern family, staying under the same roof with both his close pal Griffin Hadley and his pregnant ex-girl­friend Sonni Pacheco. Renner met Sonni, a 22-year-old model, on the Vancouver set of “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol,” where she was working as a stand-in.

“When Jeremy returned to Vancouver to film ‘The Bourne Legacy,’ they hooked up again and started staying together at the same hotel,” revealed a friend.

Now, she’s living at his L.A. home, awaiting the birth of their baby.

“Jeremy is delighted he’s going to become a dad,” said the friend. “He realizes it’s unconventional to have his baby mama, an ex-girlfriend, living with him and his roommate, but he just doesn’t care.

“There have been whispers about him being gay or bisexual for years. But he says those rumors are just a sign of him having made it in Holly­wood.”

Meanwhile, Sonni is due to deliver their baby girl in early April, but they haven’t chosen a name yet.

The Canadian beauty is a spokeswoman for Monster Energy drink and says on the company website: “I grew up on a farm, catching frogs and doing boyish stuff, so I could definitely have been called a tomboy.”

Even though Jeremy and Sonni have broken up, they’re both delighted about the baby.

“He’s very supportive and makes sure she has everything she needs,” said the friend.

Jeremy is single and has often spo­ken about being lonely. In late 2011, he bought a French bulldog named Franklin to keep him company, but tragedy struck when the puppy passed away last March.

“Jeremy was devastated when Franklin died unexpectedly,” said the source. “But now he can’t wait to be­come a dad.”

Well, that answers my questions as to WHEN their relationship began – if they started hooking up/dating when Jeremy filmed The Bourne Legacy, that would have been… early 2011, correct? So Sonni would have been 21-ish. At least she wasn’t a teenager! I guess. Yes, Jeremy is skeevy for going around and hooking up with 21-year-old chicas (he’s 42 – literally twice her age). But I think some of you need to pick your battles! You can’t be mad at him for impregnating a girl half his age AND think that he and his roommate are gay lovers. Pick a conspiracy theory and stick with it! (For what it’s worth, I think he’s straight and he likes girls in their early 20s.)

The new trailer for Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters has arrived, and I’m astonished at the pure awfulness of the project. Obviously, the movie stills and set candids we’ve seen so far already made it quite clear that this would be no masterpiece, but at least the film looked like it might be a cheesy good time with the likes of an easy-on-the-eyes pair — Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton. Then again, this is one of those “cool” attempts to reinvent a fairy tale, and those usually end in disaster, but I’m wondering exactly why Renner signed onto this mess. Did he fall prey during one of those moments where his agent suggested diversity in projects; as in, “Son, you’ve appeared in far too many criticially acclaimed and financially successful movies over the past five years. It’s time to mix it up and do a really crappy film.” Or maybe someone blackmailed him into this mess. Here’s the trailer, and we’ll discuss below:

This looks terrible, right? And not in a good way. Overally, I’m feeling very ashamed that I can’t even get it up when Renner pulls the trigger on that gun because — let’s face it — the man knows how to wield a weapon and look very sexy while doing so. Here though, the hackneyed story and the awkward, mechanical dialogue do nothing to quell the “reinvented fairy tale” gimmick. What’s even more telling is that this movie was originally set to arrive in theaters on March 1, 2012 but has been pushed back until next January, which is widely known as the month designated as a cinematic wasteland. All apologies to Jeremy Renner (whom I adore as an actor, and he’s got a cute little bubble butt too), but I won’t be watching this movie at all.

People Magazine is reporting that English actress Gemma Arterton, 24, was married in a “secret ceremony” in Spain to Italian stunt man Stefano Catelli, 37. Arterton is perhaps best known as the Bond girl in Quantum of Solace who comes to fetch the spy from Bolivia and ends up being seduced by him. Catelli played lead Daniel Craig’s body double, which is where he met lovely Arterton. While these two didn’t tell their guests exactly where the ceremony was to take place until the last minute, I’m thinking they didn’t want to keep it entirely secret. Somehow the paparazzi were tipped off and there are plenty of photos of their private ceremony, held at the ruins of a castle. It looks romantic and special, but it probably wasn’t their intention to keep it “secret.” Here’s People’s report, which doesn’t include how these two met:

In a plot that would have made secret agent 007 proud, former Bond girl Gemma Arterton managed to sneak away and get married in a hilltop retreat over the weekend.

Guests were not even told the location Arterton, 24, and Stefano Catelli, 37, planned to marry when they answered their invitations, but in the hills of southern Spain the elaborate planning paid off. Clutching a bouquet of white roses, the English beauty wore a cream gown and a veil in her auburn hair as she wed in Zuheros in Andalucia June 5, PEOPLE has confirmed.

Witnesses told the Daily Mail that the actress stroked her new husband’s cheek “as they made their vows.” And pictures in the British newspaper show the couple embracing after they said their ‘I dos’ and leaving the open-air ceremony in a vintage convertible.

Catelli, a sales manager for a fashion company, proposed last summer at a music festival in England.

Arterton’s rep would not comment on the wedding, but last month, Arterton described her planned wedding dress to Instyle, saying, “There’s this beautiful scene in [Franco] Zeffirelli’s Romeo and Juliet where she runs out of the bedroom after a night with Romeo, and she’s wrapped up in a sheet. She looks so gorgeous. My wedding gown is kind of like that.”

The Daily Mail has a little more, including from Gemma in which she admitted wrote in her diary just a day after meeting Catelli that he would be her future husband. “It was absolutely instant. I remember going home the night after I met him and writing in my diary that I’d met the man I’m going to marry. I gave that diary entry to him for his birthday two weeks later. But it didn’t freak him out, because he was thinking the same thing. I just really want to spend the rest of my life with him. He’s an amazing man.” It isn’t as sudden as it sounds, as they’ve been engaged for the past year. Congratulations to these two, they look and sound completely in love. Their wedding looks absolutely beautiful, too.

Last night was the big London premiere of The Prince of Persia, so Jake Gyllenhaal had to spend his Mother’s Day abroad. Since he’s so close to his parents, I’d imagine that killed him a little. Anyway, Jake looked very nice and not too orange, as opposed to his recent tan-tastic appearance on GQ. The British girls were all over him, too, especially his British costar Gemma Arterton. Arterton was wearing a big, beautiful ball gown that I like, but I would like better for an awards ceremony rather than a premiere. Still, pretty.

Jake gave a bunch of self-deprecating statements on the red carpet, so read into these what you will. Regarding his bulked-up body, Jake said: “My shoulders got so big that sometimes I couldn’t reach to grab things.” Regarding his shoulder-length hair for the film - which wasn’t a wig or a weave – Jake said: “It took me six months to grow it, which was the hardest part of it all. It was harder to grow the hair than do the accent or to swordfight. It’s almost harder than acting! It was shampoo and conditioner – not a two-in-one – because the physique was developed by vigorous scrubbing and rubbing of the scalp with shampoo. That really worked the bicep area and if you really focus on the core while you are doing it, your abs get totally ripped up.”

Gemma Arterton, meanwhile, outed Jake as a man afraid of ostriches, which are in the film: “Jake is scared of ostriches. He ran away and the look on his face is not acting, it’s real!”

By the way, I saw this dude’s photo at the premiere, and I just had to put it up. His name is David Gandy and isn’t he just the prettiest thing you’ve ever seen? According to Wikipedia, he’s a British model, not an actor. Sigh…

Gemma Arterton, 23, is perhaps best known as the British Bond girl in Quantum of Solace who comes to fetch Bond from Bolivia and predictably ends up in his bed instead. London (ANI): Bond babe Gemma Arterton has got engaged to Daniel Craig’s body double in Quantum Of Solace, it has emerged. The bombshell reportedly fell in love with an Italian known only as Stefano, during the filming of the James Bond movie, the Sun reports.

The 23-year-old beauty had accepted her man’s proposal at the Download Festival but not made it public. However, now they seem to care less as they celebrated their engagement with a night out with friends and family at a London restaurant.

They were also snapped leaving the same eatery, though they tried not to be clicked together. A sparkling diamond engagement ring was seen on her finger. Gemma had recently broken up with 19-year-old Spanish stuntman Eduardo Muñoz, her horse-riding instructor on the set of the Disney production, ‘Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time’.

It sounds like Arterton falls in love with the supporting staff on her films and that she has a preference for dark foreign men. Considering that Stefano was Craig’s body double he’s got to be incredibly buff and good looking. Good for Gemma, but 23 seems a little young to get engaged. Maybe Stefano realizes that and doesn’t want her to slip away.

Arterton is currently working on the film St Trinian’s: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold with Rupert Everett, Colin Firth and Russell Brand. You know that Russell had to make a few passes at her. A sparkly engagement ring isn’t about to deter him.
