Life & Style claims Halle Berry is pregnant again

fp_3407746_berry_nahla_mac_081309

Life & Style claims to have an exclusive that they believe is so legit they’re calling it “official.” According to them, Halle Berry is pregnant with her second “miracle baby.” They mention Halle’s claim to Oprah that she had saved over 35 negative pregnancy tests in a drawer before she got pregnant with daughter Nahla in 2007. But Life & Style says that this time it happened much easier for her.

IT’S OFFICIAL: A SECOND MIRACLE BABY FOR HALLE BERRY!

Halle Berry suffered through the disappointment of more than 30 negative pregnancy tests before finally learning she was expecting her first child, Nahla, in 2007. Luckily, she’s had more success with her follow-up attempts to have a baby: Life & Style can exclusively reveal that the actress, who turned 43 on Aug. 14, is three months pregnant with her second child. “Halle is overjoyed,” says an insider close to Halle and the baby’s father, model Gabriel Aubry. “The first time, she struggled so much to get pregnant and eventually conceived through in vitro fertilization. This time, the baby was conceived through artificial insemination.”

“She’s just ecstatic to be pregnant again,” the insider tells Life & Style. “She wasn’t sure if she’d have another baby, so she’s very happy!” A rep for Halle didn’t respond to a request for comment.

[From Life & Style]

It certainly could be true, but grain of salt and all that. This is Life & Style after all. Of all the “exclusives” magazines get from “sources” and “insiders,” I think I’m most skeptical of the pregnancy ones. Often they just seem to be based on speculation, like, “she looks to have put on weight.” “She’s emotional.” “She likes wearing pink.” Okay I have yet to actually hear that last one, but I won’t be surprised when I do. If Halle really is pregnant, then congrats to her, but I’m not completely convinced yet. Maybe when she shows me her pregnancy test – I’m assuming she’s still got it. Then I might believe it.

Halle Berry might not have more kids, won’t be Octomom

Halle Berry isn’t sure if she wants more kids. The 42-year-old is already mother to baby Nahla, who turned one a few weeks ago. Halle confessed her maternal dilemma to Ellen DeGeneres, noting that her “mind says yes but the rest isn’t up to me — so we’ll see.” It sounds like Halle’s partner Gabriel Aubry is up for another go, though. He tells US Magazine that Halle is “unbelievable” and that “she is the best mom that anybody could ask for — or wish for!” So sweet.

As Nahla turns one year old, Halle Berry says she’s on the fence about having more babies with beau Gabriel Aubry.

“Yeah, my mind says yes, but the rest isn’t up to me — so we’ll see,” Berry, 42, says on an episode of Ellen that airs tomorrow, March 31.

(On the show, DeGeneres also gives Berry a onesie that says “Laugh, Dance. Nahla.” to celebrate her birthday.)

One thing she won’t be doing: following in the footsteps of Octo Mom. “I hope I don’t have, like, 14 more!” she jokes. “That’s all I hope.”

In October, Aubry, 33, told Us they were “working on” expanding their family. He also said he was amazed at how Berry has embraced motherhood.

“I mean, look at her – she is unbelievable!” he told Us. “She is the best mom that anybody could ask for — or wish for!”

But despite wanting to expand their family, Aubry said, “We have no plans for marriage. We are more married than ever, really.”

Berry — who has two failed marriages — has also sworn off walking down the aisle.

[From US Magazine]

If Halle wants another baby, she’ll probably get one. Either by pregnancy or adoption, I don’t think it really matters to her. It’s great that Aubry is sticking around, he seems to be in this relationship for the long haul. After the problems Halle has had with men, she’s probably just happy she found a nice guy, and she doesn’t want to fix what ain’t broken. Marriage isn’t for everybody, although I’ve always thought (just judging from photos of how Gabriel looks at Halle) that Gabriel would totally marry Halle if that’s what she wanted.

Halle Berry wants another baby, Nahla’s first word

fp_1859962_berry_halle_duo_013109

Halle Berry gave birth to her first child last March, a daughter she named Nahla Ariela. Before she got pregnant, Halle was always very open about her desire to have a baby. Then after she announced her pregnancy, she told Oprah how much fun she and her live-in boyfriend, Gabriel Aubrey, had trying to get pregnant.

Halle is now telling People Magazine that she and Gabriel would like to have another child. And the little heartbreaker-in-training Nahla is already talking!

She may be their only child for now, but Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry’s daughter, Nahla Ariela, will be getting a brother or sister – if the proud papa gets his way.

“She needs a sibling,” Aubry told PEOPLE at Monday’s Callaway Golf Foundation Challenge at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., to benefit the Entertainment Industry Foundation. “I think it’s important.”

“I’ve never known anybody who’s had a single child [and] I’ve always been around big families,” adds Aubry, who comes from a family of eight children. “I believe in big families.”

And what does Berry, 42, think of his plans to expand the family?

“She’s okay with it,” he says. “Absolutely.”

Aubry says toddler Nahla is walking and talking, and even practicing a second language.

“I don’t want to say [what her first words were] but it was probably ‘dada,’ ” he says. “She doesn’t say ‘dad.’ She says ‘papa,’ which is the French version of it.”

But to not hurt anyone’s feelings, says Aubry, “Let’s just say she said, ‘mama.’ “

[From People]

“Papa”? How cute, because he’s French-Canadian. I saw a couple of gossipy reports this morning that Halle is actually pregnant again right now, but I doubt it. If she were already knocked up, I think she would’ve marched down to Oprah’s studio to share the good news.

I really hope Halle gets pregnant again – she and Aubry sound like wonderful parents, and their genes are magnificent!

Halle Berry is generous and classy

wenn2121279

Halle Berry is making this hardcore drama up in Vancouver called “Frankie and Alice.” In it, Halle plays a woman suffering from multiple personality disorder, and apparently, the shoot has been difficult. Not only emotionally difficult for Halle, but it’s been one of the coldest early winters in Vancouver’s history.

Extreme weather plus a difficult acting task could make a diva out of a lesser actress or a lesser human being. But not Halle. LaineyGossip is reporting that for the final day of filming, Halle not only performed barefoot, in the cold, for hours and hours, but she gifted the crew with individual bottles of champagne.

Halle was spotted loading a truckful of Dom Perignon boxes – each worth several hundred dollars – into a van, and several bags too from Holt Renfrew. Very generous. Much more generous than so many of her peers.

[From Lainey Gossip]

Lainey also notes:

It is unseasonably cold in Vancouver right now. She was barefoot for hours, no complaints, no whining, no diva antics, repeating the shots over and over and over again. And it’s clear – everyone working on Frankie & Alice…they adore her. When they wrapped, she burst into tears. She hugged everyone. She thanked everyone. And you’d be hard-pressed to find a single member of the crew who isn’t completely in love with her. Not because she’s so beautiful but because she’s so so SO nice. Am told she even went the extra mile and indeed, pulled her movie star weight, only once when a producer was injured recently and was taken to hospital. She also waited at the hospital with the man for over an hour, just to make sure he’d be ok.

It seems silly to highlight a celebrity for simply being a decent human being. But really, there are so few in Hollywood… you’ll forgive me for acknowledging the rare ones?

[From Lainey Gossip]

Halle Berry’s gotten some bad press over the years for being somewhat accident-prone on sets. I never faulted her for it, because us accident-prone people have to stick together. Who else will spot us when a wayward bird dive-bombs us or when we fall going up the stairs? But still, Halle’s accidents have cost various film productions thousands, if not millions, of dollars in lost days. That being said, I don’t think I’ve ever read anything about Halle making unreasonable demands or pulling rank on anyone. Could it be that a nice, decent, generous, classy woman is so successful for a reason? Perhaps you do get more flies with honey.

What Halle Berry was really saying when she claimed reponsibility for the big O

Two weeks ago, we covered Halle Berry’s titillating essay in Esquire Magazine, in which she accepted her “sexiest woman alive” title by trying to prove it and discussing her formula for a good sex life. Halle does not expect a man to deliver her orgasms, and knows how to work it herself.

Speaking to Esquire magazine – who recently voted the Oscar Winner the Sexiest Woman Alive – Halle said, “You know that stuff they say about a woman being responsible for her own orgasms? That’s all true, and, in my case, that makes me responsible for pretty damn good orgasms.

“They’re much better orgasms than when I was 22, and I wouldn’t let a man control that.

“Not anymore. Now, I’d invite them to participate.

“I’ve learned my tricks. I know what I like. I do not wait around. I initiate. And I’m not all about frequency – I favor intensity.”

“Men in their 20s? Forget it,” she added.

Esquire via Showbiz Spy

Halle’s daughter Nahla was born in March. As a fellow new mother, I think that Halle’s statement might need some decoding.

First, when she says it’s not about frequency, that actually means ‘I’m up all night with a screaming baby, I’m exhausted, so if we’re lucky we have sex once a week. On a good week.’

When she says she’s responsible for her own orgasms, she means ‘I have a baby hanging off my hip all day, unless she’s hanging off my boob while I feed her. By the time I coax her into lying down in bed and night and leaving me alone for a couple of hours, that last thing I want is another person hanging off of me, even if they are Gabriel Aubry.’

When she says that there’s no point in having sex with a man in their 20s, what she actually means is ‘No man in his 20s is going to look at me again because I’m a mother in her 40s, even if I am bangin’ hot Halle Berry.’

Now, if they added this to the high school curriculum we might find the teenage pregnancy rate drop significantly.

Note by Celebitchy: I can’t find where Halle said “Men in their 20s? Forget it.” in the original interview, but the rest of the quotes in Showbiz Spy are pretty accurate.

Halle Berry threatens action over baby pictures taken in her backyard

Halle Berry is flaming mad, and by most accounts sure has reason to be. It turns out those grainy pictures of Halle holding her her 4-month-old daughter Nahla weren’t taken at a resort or “out and about” as written. They were taken from a telephoto lens while Halle was in her backyard – and some while she was in her house. It’s a clear and ridiculous violation of privacy, and pretty damn upsetting. Halle isn’t taking it lying down, and is going after the paparazzi responsible.

… the pics, one of which shows a foliage-covered slope and a patio table in the background while others include glimpses of Berry’s mother, were taken when the X-Men star was in her backyard, constituting a “very blatant and invasive trespass. The paparazzi have gone too far. [Gabriel] and I have always remained that we would never sell baby photos or otherwise exploit her in any way,” Berry said in a statement obtained by E! News.

“I will do everything I can for the sake of her safety and well-being to keep her out of the public eye…I intend to do everything I can to make sure the photographer who illegally intruded into my home is criminally prosecuted.”

A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office said that no complaint has been received and that this may solely be a matter for the L.A. Police Department at this time.

[From E! News]

Life & Style and In Touch Weekly magazines went to press with the photographs before they could be removed, but the photo agency removed the images from their website. They did point out that photos are taken of Britney Spears in her backyard quite often, and no one says anything. Which is a good point… except that what it really means is that those photos aren’t appropriate either. Several years ago Jennifer Aniston successfully sued over topless photos taken of her in her backyard.

People should definitely have the right to privacy in their yards and especially inside their homes. It seems completely unfair that if a celebrity parent refuses to sell photos of their new baby – or give them away for free – that the paparazzi will do whatever it takes to get a shot.

The extreme lengths they’ll go to are absolutely appalling – like the paps who called in a fake fire to Maggie Gyllenhaal’s building so she’d run out with her 5-day-old baby at five in the morning. Halle has kept her baby unusually hidden, but that’s certainly her right, and it’s good that she won’t be pressured into releasing photos.

Note by Celebitchy: The owner of the photo agency who took the pictures has issued a very good response to this and owns up to their error, saying “It was a poor decision to put those pictures out in the first place because they were taken on private property. I think she’s completely in the right to protect her child.”

We do business with the agency, Fame pictures, and they’re a very good company to deal with, especially when compared to some of the other photo agencies. Of course I’m biased in how I view this, but how many times have you viewed photos that should have been private? Think of how much money these photos are worth, and how often Britney is photographed in her backyard, and you can see how there will be people camped out trying to get pictures. In their celebrity-skewed view of the world, this seems like a decent idea with a good payoff. We can vilify the paparazzi all we want, but we’re the ones keeping them in business and egging them on. These are not the same guys in camo fighting with Brangelina’s security and it would be unfair to lump them all together.

We had yet to subscribe to Fame when these Halle Berry photos came out, but these photos along with other exclusives prompted me to contact them and I definitely would have published them at the time without questioning their origin. It would be hypocritical of me to act like I wouldn’t.

Maybe this incident, coupled with the paparazzi problems Brad and Angelina are having, will deter photographers from taking photos of celebrities on private property. There’s definitely a demand for it, but the celebrities aren’t taking it lying down and are working to secure their hard-earned privacy.

Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry go to a Stevie Wonder concert

Halle Berry, 41, and her boyfriend, French Canadian model Gabriel Aubry, 32, made their first public outing together since the birth of their daughter, Nahla, nearly four months ago. The two attended a Stevie Wonder concert at the Hollywood Bowl in LA last night. The public has yet to catch a glimpse of Nahla, with neither the paparazzi or a magazine securing any photos of the infant.

Two months ago there was speculation that Berry and Aubry were engaged after Berry attended an event wearing a ring on her left ring finger. Berry’s rep said it was just jewelry the actress purchased for herself and that she is not engaged. Berry has said that she will never marry again after two bad experiences.

Berry was recently in Hawaii shooting an ad for her new fragrance with Coty. It will feature her wearing a sheer peach-colored dress over a bikini.

Halle Berry makes first public appearance post baby

Halle Berry made her first public appearance after having baby Nahla Ariela Aubry a little over six weeks ago. Berry wore a flouncy leopard-print dress that emphasized her ample cleavage. She looked gorgeous, fit, relaxed and happy.

Halle was at the Jenesee Center’s Silver Rose Gala & Auction. The Jenesee center helps families affected by domestic violence with emergency shelters, employment training, and counseling.

Halle looked happy to reveal her quick return to her post-baby body, but she hasn’t revealed baby Nahla. The infant has yet to make an appearance in a magazine or be photographed by the paparazzi.

Halle Berry named her baby Nahla Ariela Aubry

nahla1.jpg
As far as celebrity baby names go, Nahla Ariela is not bad. It does have a Disney ring to it, probably due to the Little Mermaid-sounding middle name. I’ve never heard the name Nahla before and it sounds kind of neutral to me for a little girl’s name, but maybe I just need to get used to it.

According to Babynology, it’s a Muslim name that means “a drink of water.”

Nahla was born at 10:17 am on Sunday morning. She is the first child for Oscar-winning actress Halle, 41, and her boyfriend, model Gabriel Aubry, 32.

Halle and Gabriel are in a private birthing suite at Cedars Sinai with their baby. They are all said to be doing well and are expected to leave the hospital sometime this week.

Halle Berry delivers a girl

hallegirl.jpg
Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry has given birth to a baby girl. This is her first child, and the labor and delivery weren’t without a few complications, according to Star Magazine.

At age 41, Halle Maria Berry is finally a mother! After an initial scare earlier in the day, Halle gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on Sunday morning in Los Angeles.

An insider tells Star, “Halle Berry had a 7lb 4 oz girl at 10:17am Sunday morning, March 16, at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. The actress had checked into the hospital for the second time that day after feeling contractions earlier Saturday morning.

“Halle had come to the hospital at 4am in the morning because the felt like she was going into labor. It was a bit scary because her blood pressure was skyrocketing and everyone was a little tense. She’s a diabetic so that was complicating matters as well. The doctors checked the fetal heart rate and everything seemed okay. After a while Halle’s blood pressure came down. She wasn’t dilating anymore so at around 2:45pm they let her go home.

“Halle felt her contractions come on a lot more intensely later that night so she came back to the hospital at 11:00pm Saturday night.

“Halle was overcome with emotion when she finally held her little girl. She said everything she had gone through was worth that moment. The tears kept coming as Halle didn’t even want the nurses to take her baby to clean her up and measure. It was a truly beautiful scene.”

[From Star Magazine]

Glad to hear that Halle’s age and pre-existing condition didn’t stop her from having a healthy labor and delivery. She seemed to take very good care of herself throughout the pregnancy. No word on whether Halle’s super-hot model boyfriend, Gabriel Aubry, was in the delivery room with her, or on what she named her new daughter. Congrats to the ridiculously gorgeous couple. I am curious to see pictures of the little one soon.
