Heidi Klum’s birthday present to Victoria Beckham was either meant for her three boys and husband, or was a not-so-subtle encouragement for Posh to gain some much-needed weight. Since it’s Klum we’re talking about, I would bet that she meant it as more of a family gift. After she handled the minor controversy with Iman so well, I don’t consider her capable of sending cupcakes to Posh to try and tempt the stick-thin paparazzi target into eating something.

Klum had a dozen cupcakes from celebrity favorite elite bakery Sprinkles sent to Posh for her 34th birthday with a note that said “Happy Birthday – expect a dozen every Friday! Love, Heidi.”

In Touch reported this news in their latest issue, and said that it will probably cost around $2,000 for the weekly cupcake delivery service.

The Sprinkles website is well designed and makes me want to stuff one of those overpriced delectables into my mouth. A gift box of just a dozen costs a whopping $46, so if Heidi sent a year’s worth it’s around $2,400 not including delivery costs.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are also cupcake aficionados, and Tom told Oprah that Katie won his kids over by bringing cupcakes the first time he met her. Cupcakes were on the table in the kitchen when Oprah came over, with Tom calling their home “the sugar house.”

It’s not like “Kate” eats even one of those a day, and they’re more for the kids. In Touch reminds us that Victoria Beckham said “no” when Barbara Walters asked her if she would ever eat a cookie, as if we needed to hear from her that she doesn’t eat bakery items.

Cupcakes must be the new Hollywood decoration. They’re so colorful, fluffy and completely off limits. Kind of like those glass candies that grandmothers keep in a bowl. Although in this case the pain of eating them is purely psychological.

Heidi Klum launched her line of Jordache Jeans at Bloomingdales in Beverly Hills yesterday. The 34 year-old model and mother of three answered a reporter’s question about comments from model Iman, who hosts Canada’s version of Project Runway. Iman said that she has much more experience with high fashion than Klum, who hosts Project Runway in the US.

Klum said that Iman was right and that she is more qualified to host a fashion design show:

“She [Iman] has done all the big big fashion shows that I’ve never done. She’s been doing it for a little while longer, and she has met all the big big designers in the world.”

The 5′ 9 1/2″ 130 pound Klum also added that she doesn’t have the slight build required for a high fashion model: “I never really fit in the clothes. I tried. But I never got to walk in Paris and do all the big big fashion shows.”

So much for any feud between Heidi and Iman. Heidi Klum bugs me sometimes because her wide mouth seems to plaster nearly every drugstore and billboard in Germany where I live. She always comes across as funny and gracious in interviews, though and she certainly handled this issue well.

For her part Iman seemed like she was answering a specific question about the differences between herself and the US host, Heidi, and she was honest and not too snotty about it. She said “Definitely Heidi and I come from two different places. I’m not belittling Heidi Klum, but I have been in fashion much more than she has. Not to toot my own horn, but I have been one of the best runway girls.”

Most of you agreed in the comments that Iman was just being upfront about her experience, and Heidi thinks so too.

52 year-old Somali-born former supermodel Iman currently hosts Project Runway Canada, and she’s not shy about touting her qualifications for the job. Iman says she’s much more qualified to host the fashion-judging contest than Heidi Klum, the host of the US version. Iman starts by saying “Not to belittle Heidi Klum…” and then goes on to sort-of do just that, saying that she has so much fashion experience while we’re supposed to come to conclusion that Klum is less knowledgeable about the industry:

Iman has been married to rock legend David Bowie for over 15 years, and they have a daughter together, Lexi, 7. Iman also has a 28 year-old daughter from her first marriage to basketball player Spencer Haywood, and is the stepmother to Bowie’s 37 year-old son from his first marriage. Iman says she’s a “total domestic diva” and that she cooks every night at home. She has her own cosmetic company and published a book in 2005 called The Beauty of Color: The Ultimate Beauty Guide for Skin of Color.

When I read this story I was surprised that Iman would say this as I remember seeing her on Oprah and she didn’t seem full of herself to me. I also watched another interview with her on YouTube and again she didn’t give the impression that she was stuck up. Maybe that goes along with the territory when you’ve been a supermodel though, and it’s possible this quote was taken out of context and someone asked her specifically about the differences between herself and the US host of the show. Heidi Klum isn’t exactly famous for her high fashion experience and is best known as a swimsuit and Victoria’s Secret model, although she certainly has catwalk experience.

Seal was sure pissed off when he left Maestro’s restaurant with his wife Heidi Klum last night. He went off at the photographers trying to talk to them outside, refusing to shake a guy’s hand and calling him “scum” and a “cockroach.” As Seal is signing autographs the guy is talking to him and Seal gets more pissed off, saying the paps ruin peoples lives and that he wouldn’t want their job. Heidi seems uncomfortable and looks away while her husband is going off.

It seems to me that Seal knows this guy and has a grudge against him due to some kind of history they have together. I would bet he’s trailed Seal and Heidi before and that he has a good reason for being pissed off at this specific guy.

It’s got to suck to not be able to go out and live a normal life for some of these celebrities, and Seal gets it bad because his wife is so famous. They get photographed wherever they go and are usually very gracious and smiling for the paps. I would bet that the guy Seal is hating on has stepped over the line with him before and that he’s trying to provoke him. The photographer ended up getting footage that’s worth something because Seal got annoyed and mouthed off.

Late last year George Clooney talked about how the paparazzi were no longer content just to film celebrities and that they’re trying to create situations to get reactions. He called them “bounty hunters” and said:

“These people are being paid so much that they are willing to commit crimes, to break into your house, to cut you off in traffic, to run lights, to slam on the brakes in front of you, to get the money shot. It’s creating bounty hunters.”

He know that no one wants to hear a wealthy actor saying how rough his life is. “I am one and I don’t want to hear it. But these people are blowing through lights, driving like maniacs and they’re putting people’s lives in jeopardy, including innocent bystanders who are not participating but become part of the game.”

Seal probably isn’t just reacting to this guy yelling stupid shit to him outside a restaurant, he’s pissed because of the way that the paparazzi overstep their boundaries constantly. I hope that’s the case and that there’s nothing wrong with his relationship with Heidi. It’s also possible that he may have a different reason to be upset and is just taking it out on the photographer.

Heidi Klum was on the Jimmy Kimmel show last night to promote Project Runway, and they had a big trampoline on the stage. Heidi and Seal have one at home, so Kimmel brought one on to add some variety to the show. It’s pretty amusing watching them jump up and down and try and talk.

Klum took off her shoes and urged Kimmel to remove his socks, and he said “no” at first but then gave in. When he removed his socks he had polish on his right foot, and said “I have something embarrassing. Ben Affleck painted my toenails the other day, and there’s still some of it on there.”

Yesterday Klum was on Ellen, and there was a cute kind of flirty exchange between the two. Ellen gave Klum a t-shirt to cover up her legs because her dress was too short. The t-shirt featured Ellen’s face, and Ellen said “Hopefully we have an overhead shot of that, because that’s fantastic” Heidi looked down at it said “You have the bluest eyes.” Ellen said “Thank you” and looked a little embarrassed and laughed, saying “that’s ridiculous.” Heidi said “I’ll wear pants next time,” and Ellen answered “No you look great.”

Klum sure knows how to promote her shows, and she comes across as genuine along with being a lot of fun.

Project Runway’s fifth-place designer, Sweet P., was asked by MTV to do a live blog on Oscar Night, covering the red carpet arrival of all the stars. Sweet P.’s first critique was of Project Runway’s host, supermodel Heidi Klum.

My first victim is … oh, how apropos …Heidi Klum in a great-fitting red Galliano gown. Of course, she is stunning, but I do not like the big collar thing — it looks as if Galliano was inspired by Christian & Chris’ avant-garde look. A bit too Cruella de Ville! She still looks gorgeous, though. I do like that her dress will be auctioned off to benefit a charity.

Maybe it wasn’t the best move to criticize her former host and judge, but I have to say, I agree with Sweet P. In fact, when Celebitchy, Jaybird and I were chatting live during the red carpet arrivals, I had the very same opinion of the dress. Then again, if it weren’t for Heidi and her show, nobody would know who Sweet P. is, and she wouldn’t have landed that MTV gig. It also wasn’t very cool of her to slam Chris and Christian’s avant-garde look– after all, Chris and Christian beat out Sweet P. to the finals of the show and their avant-garde dress actually won the challenge. The whole thing has a faint whiff of sour grapes, if you ask me.

A few weeks ago everyone and their nosy mother was saying they’d love to help Britney get her act together, with multiple celebrities offering her advice and a place to stay in their enormous mansions. Rosie O’Donnell and Elton John each said she could move in with them, Queen Latifah said she wanted to “take Britney home and give her a place to sleep and rest,” and Julia Robers said “I see and hear what’s happening to Britney Spears and it’s all I can do not to move her into my guesthouse and say: ‘OK, this is how it’s going to be!’” Even Terri Irwin said that Britney could come over, saying “If Britney and her family want to go in the bush with us, we’d love to have them.” Victoria Beckham, Simon Cowell, Brooke Shields, and Donald Trump have all offered to talk to her and help her. So Heidi Klum’s offer for Britney to move in with her isn’t that unique, but it does seem like she’s kind of late to the party, and is not able to realize that Britney is seriously mentally ill and needs a lot more than a friend and a place to stay right now. She also seems to attribute Britney’s problems to her lifestyle:

“She can call me and come live in our house with us for a couple of months,” said Klum, a mother of three who is married to the singer Seal and lives in Beverly Hills, Calif. “I would help set her straight.”

“I am sorry when a young person gets thrown so off track,” Klum said, according to a transcript of an interview that will be aired Monday night by the German broadcaster ARD. “She has, of course, lived an extremely wild life.”

Klum doesn’t like Spears, and told Ellen Degeneres in November that Britney schooled her on how to use diapers when she crashed her Halloween party. She made a stupid joke about it, saying “[Britney and I] were talking about babies and diapers and she explained to me a lot of things about diapers I that didn’t know. You know these sticky things on the side? I never knew that they were there. To close them in the front, I was always putting string around. I had no idea.”

The other day I got flack from a commentor for telling Britney to “buck up,” in the same article in which I mentioned that the tabloids claimed last week that she was diagnosed with schizophrenia as well as bipolar disorder. Xiaoecho told me that “people with mental illness cannot ‘buck up’, they do not have the luxury of that choice. their thought processes are severely unbalanced….that is why they are mentally ill’” and I hung my head in shame for about 1/2 a minute until I realized I better move on to the next piece of throwaway gossip. I try to be sensitive about these type of situations, but I’m trying to write as fast as possible and sometimes you say things that you don’t think through properly.

So I guess you could see where Klum would think that Britney just needs to have some structure and order, and that she could somehow be able to help her. It’s not that easy for someone with a mental illness, though, and Britney’s problem goes well beyond not having a stable home life. While I usually like Klum, her wide-mouthed mug is all over the place in Germany where I live and I’m gradually souring on her. A lot of celebrities have offered Britney a place to stay, but now that she’s been in psych ward twice it’s time to realize that her problem is not that she doesn’t have peace and order in her external environment.

Britney is trying to get out from her father’s thumb, and has hired a lawyer who claims that Jamie Spears’ conservatorship is violating her civil rights. She is working to have her case moved from LA County to Federal jurisdiction, and her new lawyer filed papers that claimed that she doesn’t even have the right to her own attorney: “Ms. Spears has not had the benefit of a single hearing before the court, yet she has been stripped of her right to access to counsel of her choosing.” [Details from The NY Post]

I wonder if Heidi Klum would be violating Britney’s rights too, in her effort to “set her straight” after her “extremely wild life.”

Will Ferrell is promoting his new 70s basketball film Semi-Pro, which also stars Woody Harrelson and is out in US Theaters on February 29. Ferrel has an awesome retro photo shoot with a scantily-clad Heidi Klum and accompanying interview on SportsIllustrated.com, and he says he had a lot of fun doing the shoot with Heidi and didn’t even get in trouble with his wife for horsing around on set with the gorgeous model and mother of three. Unlike Klum, Ferrell was reluctant to get his kit off for the shoot, and says that people are getting sick of seeing him in his underwear and he has to be conscious of it. As for how he got along with Klum, he says “she’s a wildcat,” and if you look at the photos it shows:

My wife is incredibly accepting of all these things. She just rolled with it. She came by the shoot and walked in right at the moment when I was biting Heidi’s butt. Do you have any Swimsuit memories from, well, not Magnus’ age, but after that?
I wasn’t exactly a Playboy-under-the-bed kind of kid, but I do remember — I think — a Christie Brinkley shoot down in the Seychelles Islands. I remember thinking, ‘Wait. This is Sports Illustrated? WHAT is going on here. Mooom?’ It threw me for a loop, but I remember being extremely excited about it after that.

You were one of the rare models who had issues about disrobing for SI. Why?
Well, Heidi kept trying to get me in my underwear. Begging, really. I had to say, ‘Believe me, I don’t have a problem [disrobing]; I do it a lot in my movies. But I’m riding the line of people who celebrate that and the people who are getting sick of it.’ There isn’t a moratorium on pants removal; I’m just trying to be a little more judicious about it. It put me in the unimaginable position of turning Heidi Klum down when she asked me to take my pants off.

Maxim magazine has released a list of the ‘Hottest Pregnant Women, Ever’. Which seems a big call as, in order for the species to continue, women have to keep on making babies. Rather adorably, my husband emailed me this list, saying I should be on it. This was very sweet, particularly since I spent my whole pregnancy with bloodshot eyes from vomiting. Although I do wonder why the Maxim webpage isn’t blocked, what is he doing at work looking at this?

Looking at the pictures, I’m guessing that most of these women spent their pregnancies with a personal stylist maintaining their sexiness, which is maybe how it should be for all pregnant women’s self esteem. Could we get some kind of government assistance for that?

Heidi Klum said she first met Seal after he came into a hotel lobby after working out – while he was wearing form-fitting bicycle shorts. She told Oprah in a joint interview with Seal that she saw “the whole package” and “was like, wow.”

Heidi and Seal have been married two years and have three children. They said that they keep their relationship hot by always making time for each other. Seal said “you’ve got to put each other first [before the kids]” and that “[Heidi] will always be number one for me.”

The couple recently renewed their wedding vows on May 13th at their home in Costa Careyes, Mexico. Their first wedding in Mexico in 2005 was just Heidi, Seal and Heidi’s daughter, Leni. They may have renewed their vows in order to make their commitment to each other in front of friends and family, who weren’t at the first ceremony.

Heidi and Seal work together every day in their home in California. They have a big two-person desk in a corner office that they share, and Heidi said in an earlier interview that they “spend the day working, or talking, or watch the children playing by the pool.” They have three nannies, one for each of their children: Leni, three and a half (with Heidi’s ex, Flavio Briatore), Henry, two, and Johan, 11 months.

They will soon bring their working relationship beyond their home office. Seal famously sung on the catwalk while Heidi debuted her post-baby body at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show in November, 2005. Now they’re set to sing a duet at the Victoria’s Secret show. They will perform “Wedding Day,” their duet off Seal’s upcoming album. Kanye West and the Spice Girls will also perform on the show, which will air on CBS on December 4th.
