Ryan Phillippe was caught out on a date with O.C. guest star Nikki Reed, who played Ryan’s girlfriend on the show last season. She’s only 18, and turns 19 in mid May of this year. (Thanks to ashaali on JJB for the ID.)

According to X17, the paparazzi agency who has pictures of the two, with Philippe looking buzzed and Reed covering her face, say his friends kind-of confirmed that she’s his new girlfriend, and got all upset at the photographers for some reason. Phillippe seemed to be ok with the fact that pictures were being taken:

We caught Ryan Phillippe last night at Winston’s with a new woman! And while Ryan looked pretty pleased with himself and was very cordial with our photogs, Ryan’s friends were not so nice. Channing Tatum went postal, threatening our snappers, upset that they had taken pix of Ryan with his new girl (in other words, upset that the spotlight was on Ryan, not him).
Channing and a pal were arguing and threatening our photographers and then chased them in the car, driving really dangerously, according to our snappers. Our guys were worried, they decided to stop at the Santa Monica Police Department to clear things up and well, we caught that on video so stay tuned!

We published faraway pictures of Ryan out with an attractive brunette who sort-of looks like Reed, but I don’t think it’s her.

Ryan is playing the sad sap card, and told Extra that his divorce with Reese Witherspoon has been difficult and that he hates when paparazzi follow him everywhere, especially to his kid’s school.

He said “I have not found balance in my life yet” and “This is the most difficult time in my life.” It looks like he’s making the best of it, anyway.

Justin Timberlake isn’t content to just romance one high-profile starlet and move on quickly to another – he seems to be keeping two on the line. Word is he shared a high-priced rental condo and some fireside snuggling with bootlicious Jessica Biel at Sundance, and now he’s back to bumping Scarlett Johansson – sort of. There was a rumor that Scarlett had rebuffed Timberlake and broken his heart after he hired her to appear in his video in an attempt to get close to the sexy actress. Scarlett is said to be a free spirit and only wanted a fling without ties.

Scarlett is either taking her chances or just toying with Timberlake, as she’s said to have hung out with him all night and to have done a little sexy dance in front of him at a Super Bowl after party:

Johansson met Timberlake at the Hennessey Super Bowl afterparty at Mokai, where, spies say, “they were talking, dancing, holding hands all night – it was very cozy.

“Then, as they left through the back, Justin was leaning against the wall and Scarlett came up, leaned into him and did a sexy, little dance, grinding into his body.”

Timberlake’s spokesman, Ken Sunshine, had no comment, and Johansson’s flack didn’t get back to us.

I bet Johansson is messing with Timberlake and I’d like to see him get his heart stomped on, as cruel as that sounds. He dissed Cameron publically, so I kind of figure he deserves it even thought I still think Cameron is a snot bag. (Why do I care what happens to these people?)

No matter what happens in Timberlake’s life, he seems to have help to get through the days. He recently admitted to being stoned off his ass during the Punk’d episode where he was tricked into thinking IRA agents had seized all his worldly possessions.

Scarlett recently won a free year at a South Beach condo, valued at around $50k. Her spokesperson said she will donate it to a nearby children’s hospital, so that the parents of sick kids will have a nice place to stay. The NY Daily News points out that Jessica Simpson won a car in a similar celebrity swag giveaway last year and that she kept it.

Flaunting your freedom from your recently dumped, much-beloved, cancer-recovering, gold-lame-shorts wearing, excellently-bottomed girlfriend turns out to be a near perfect plan for bad press. And surprise surprise the British tabloid press don’t bother much with substance behind their accusations. Luckily their Commonwealth cousins (and original supplier for all things Kylie) are a tad more circumspect in their analysis of the material. KYLIE Minogue’s ex-boyfriend, Olivier Martinez, has been spotted in the arms of yet another woman, this time it’s actress Penelope Cruz.
Britain’s Daily Mirror made a meal of photographs showing the French actor in an embrace with the Hollywood star at a Los Angeles hotel 12 hours after ending his four-year relationship with Minogue.

But the pictures, carried on the paper’s front page with the headline “Kylie Cad Cruz Schmooze” and in a double-page spread, only show Martinez and Cruz sharing what appears to be a friendly hug.

The status of his Cruz huggin’ aside reports do seem to agree that the (up till this weekend) admirably supportive Martinez is wasting no time sampling L.A.s charms now that he is officially off the clock. His haste may be a bit unseemly … but if you add in the time difference, hemisphere switch and a Gallic presumption of joie de vivre rights – he comes out just the safe side of cad.

Cruz, who was at the Chateau Marmont hotel for lunch with three female friends, reportedly shrieked with delight when she saw Martinez.

An unnamed source criticised the Frenchman for being so brazen after he and Minogue announced their split at the weekend.

“Does he really have to rub Kylie’s nose in it?”, the source said.

Martinez has been seen at the same hotel in recent days with Israeli model Sarai Givati, Lost star Michelle Rodriguez and a mystery brunette.

It apparently takes a whole lotta brunette to Wash that Kylie Woman right oughtta your hair.

Kylie seems to be taking it all in her stride. She’s in the UK opening an exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum of her very own costumes, glittery bobs, sparkly bangles and shiny beads. Wonder who she’ll take to the opening? I suggest a red-head … maybe Prince Harry is done with Chelsy.

Jessica Simpson and John Mayer have been all over the place lately during his tour in Florida. Now a supposed insider says that John is moving in together to Jessica’s house in L.A. this spring.

“She joined the first leg of John’s winter tour,” disclosed the friend.

“The turned his first dates in Florida into a working vacation. They hit the night spots and dined [sic] in Miami”

The next step, says their pal, will edge them even closer to marriage.

“Jessica and John will be moving in together – most likely into Jessica’s L.A. house in the spring.”

The Enquirer goes on to speculate that they could be getting married soon.

Given how reluctant Mayer was to admit that he had a burgeoning fling with Jessica, I really doubt this is true. He doesn’t seem sincere about the relationship from what I can glean by judging everything through paparazzi photos.

A fan followed Jessica and Mayer to their hotel as part of an assignment for Life and Style. She rain into the pair in the hotel lobby. She said they were touchy-feely and that Mayer told her that Jessica was “the nice one” after they signed autographs for her and obliged her request for a picture. The paparrazo in training followed the two to Applebees and then to a local theatre, where they saw Smoking Aces.

Reese Witherspoon’s estranged husband Ryan Phillippe was seen out with a striking brunette. At the time of his breakup with Reese de denied rumors of an affair with his costar and Reese-lookalike Abbie Cornish. If there was something going on with them it seems to have ended. Ryan was out at a West Hollywood restaurant with the unknown woman, and took pains to keep a low profile.

The last we heard of Phillippe was when he was spotted buying over $600 worth of high end lingerie and claimed it was for “someone special.”

Phillippe has two movies in production and one in the can called Breach, where he stars as a young FBI agent suspicious of his boss, famed double agent Robert Hanssen, played by Chris Cooper. Laura Linney also stars. Breach is out on February 16.

TMZ reports that Diddy was seen dropping Sienna Miller off at her New York City hotel Monday morning, and it could mean they were doing more than partying all night. Diddy and Sienna were spotted getting cozy at a Sundance party a couple of weeks ago. Either they’re just friends or Diddy is getting busy with the British actress known more for getting cheated on by Jude Law and acting like a diva than for her forgettable work on screen.

Given that Diddy’s bodyguard is said to have tried to convince the photographer to get rid of the incriminating pictures, he does seem to be guilty about something:

Diddy, father of newborn twins, was spotted dropping off Miller at her NYC hotel this morning after a rumored night of partying together in the city. Diddy had a trapped rat look when he noticed cameras watching from across the street — and we’re told a bodyguard was sent over to the photographer to try and get him to delete the footage.

Combs and Miller were rumored to have gotten cozy at TAO nightclub during Sundance as well. Maybe Sienna’s working on a second career as a rapper.

Diddy just had twin girls over a month ago with his longterm partner, Kim Porter. Porter is rumored to know that Diddy cheats on her regularly, and is semi-ok with it as long as he keeps a low profile. With Sienna Miller, that’s going to be difficult.

Sienna recently made boring headlines with the news that she sent an assistant to fetch her a bunch of swag at Sundance, and demanded that a gifting suite be closed 30 minutes early so that her girl could raid it in privacy.

Jessica Simpson looks like an Asian hooker the morning after in this weird patchwork robe she wore out on the streets of Miami with her maybe-boyfriend, John Mayer. The girl needs a nice little skirt or pair of pants for this emsemble. It could just be a bikini coverup, though, in which case she would be forgiven if she had on flip flops instead of tottering heels with an ankle strap. A day at the beach would also explain her hair. She still looks better than Britney on a good day, though.

Jessica has been seen out at Mayer’s Florida concerts and the press is going wild with the news of their relationship. Her incompetent stylist recently confirmed that Jessica will be touring with Mayer for two and a half weeks, and said “As you all know she is with her boyfriend. She is happy happy happy…”

How long is it going to take before Mayer kicks her to the curb?

Jessica’s breathy crap single, “A Public Affair” has just been released in the UK, where reviews are lukewarm.

It’s possible Paris’ love note to Nick was never received, because it was with her stuff in the storage facility or we wouldn’t be able to post it here. She references a gift though, and it looks like she used a little card to tape it on in the middle next to a picture of herself. Given the content of her message and its delivery, I think it’s safe to assume it was a heart locket of some kind and the picture was meant to go in it. (Although now that I look at it again, she said “it looks like you” so who knows what it could be?)

At first I was going to rip on Paris for writing such a cliched love letter, but there’s a touch of vulnerabilty there in her scrawled note with all it’s trite platitudes. Once I read Nick’s letter to Paris I realized their brief relationship was meant to be.

Paris and Nick ended their relationship in July of 2004 after about seven months together. Paris was seen out with bruises around her eye at the time of their breakup, and rumor had it that Nick was responsible, although he denied it.

The NY Post published some of Paris’ letters to Nick in January, 2005. Nick has since dished about Paris in an attempt to drum up publicity for one of his reality shows. He said he cheated on her with Ashlee Simpson after he found out Paris was being unfaithful to him with Chad Michael Murray and wanted to get back at her.

Other crap in the “Nick Carter” folder on the Paris Exposed website included scenes from a TV show he appeared in and a receipt for a $3,5000 piece of jewelry he bought her. Nick said in September of last year that he bought Paris earrings worth $10,000 and needed to get them back.

The relationship between blonde B-movie co-stars Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson might be back on. They were rumored to be broken up after spending a few months managing to keep their relationship semi-secret with just a few witnessed outings after the bustup of Kate’s marriage. Kate has since been linked with her typical rocker-type, Nic Cester of Jet, but rumor has it that Wilson joined her in Australia, where she’s filming Fool’s Gold with Matthew McConaughey.

Owen Wilson has been rekindling his romance with Kate Hudson this week in Australia, according to a close source.

Hudson is Down Under filming “Fool’s Gold” with Matthew McConaughey in the tropical state of Queensland.

A pal says Hudson and Wilson are back together after a bumpy patch over the holidays. “Owen backed out [of Christmas and New Year] because he didn’t want to deal with the whole situation with her family,” the friend tells me.

“There’s [estranged husband Chris Robinson] and the baby, and also Goldie [Hawn] and Kurt [Russell] don’t approve of the relationship.”

The extended family was to spend the holiday week together in Aspen, says the source, but in the end neither Owen nor Kate went.

I’m not sure if I believe this, but if it’s true I don’t think they’ll last. Wilson seemed reluctant to admit to a relationship with Hudson, probably because he didn’t want to cause any controversy with their divorce, and he doesn’t seem like the committed type.

In early January it was reported that they were broken up due and couldn’t maintain a long distance relationship while they were working. Wilson was said to have phoned his friends to let them know that he was back on the market.

Well it turns out I was probably giving John Mayer too much credit yesterday when I tried to dissect his character by reading too much into his stoner blog.

Page Six, which I always trust unquestioningly, is saying that Jessica and John’s romantic paparrazi-witnessed date at Nobu was little more than a photo op for the two singers. Guess Jessica is using John for some much-needed companionship, and he’s milking the publicity for his new tour:

Spies at Nobu in South Beach told Page Six that, despite the ruckus caused by their entrance, the two barely spoke on their Tuesday night date. “John was extremely quiet and didn’t speak a lot,” said a source, while Jessica “just gave a lot of puppy-dog looks and twirled and twisted her hair.” The two were seen holding hands, but Simpson left Mayer for 20 minutes while she “fixed herself up for the camera” before heading back to their hotel. The couple’s yoga-and-sushi- filled weekend in Miami marked the first of many planned trips together. Sources say Simpson plans to join her boyfriend on tour – but if she’s booking the hotels, they won’t return to any of the spots she frequented with ex-husband Nick Lachey.

People noted in the comments on yesterday’s article that John Mayer is rumored to be into peeing on chicks and Jessica Simpson seems like a more than willing participant.

I just thought about that too much for comfort. Well, Mayer and Simpson are certainly getting a lot of press for their supposed relationship, whatever is going on. There was a story on the main page of Yahoo! about them yesterday, and that must mean that their ploy is working.

Look, in these latest candids they’re both wearing striped shapeless tops. That must mean they’re into each other, right?
