Jessica Simpson’s hospitalization triggered by booze, claims Star Magazine

jessicasimpsonheader.jpg
Star Magazine probably paid someone off to give them confidential details of Jessica Simpson’s medical condition. The singer checked into the hospital on March 28 for a four day stay for what was widely reported to be a kidney infection. She did have a kidney infection, according to Star, but they claim that it was caused by too much alcohol. What’s more is that she asked for a pregnancy test, which I guess we can assume was negative unless it was for her sister:

[Jessica Simpson] was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. on March 28 and remained there for four days. Reps for the singer said she was being treated for a “kidney infection,” but an insider tells Star it was more than that. Jessica’s health problems were “brought on by drinking an obscene amount of alcohol,” says the source. “She was treated for a kidney infection, a bladder infection and a urinary tract infection.”

Adding to her distress, anxious Jessica asked doctors to give her a pregnancy test! “She was a nervous wreck,” says the insider. “She was three weeks late and convinced she was pregnant. She was feeling really weak and really scared. She was unraveling.”

Since her divorce from Nick Lachey in 2006, Jessica has dated a string of men, including musician John Mayer. But after hooking up with Dallas Cowboys hunk Tony in November, insiders say her partying and drinking are out of control.

[From Star Magazine’s Website]

Star Magazine is pretty low on the gossip totem pole and has been known to whip up a story with wishful thinking, but they could have a snooping source who got access to Simpson’s supposedly confidential medical records. Either way, that’s pretty low and you kind of feel sorry for the girl. She did have medical condition, and it sounds like the alcohol just exacerbated it, but didn’t cause it. From what I’ve read, alcohol, caffeine and spicy foods are a bladder irritant, and bladder infections are caused by bacteria, not by drinking too much. Maybe it wasn’t until she drank too much and felt the terrible effects that she realized she had an infection and needed to get treatment. Either way, it’s not our business and I feel bad even talking about it. Hell, I’ve been there on both counts and it sucks! Usually I can’t relate to Jessica Simpson, but in this case she has my sympathy. At least she’s not pregnant, though. I can’t imagine that woman trying to raise a child, but I guess that isn’t my business either and there are worse parents. Not that her sister and her emo boyfriend come to mind or anything.

Jessica Simpson is shown at LAX Airport on 4/13/08, thanks to Splash.

Toni Braxton hospitalized with chest pains

adb-005096.jpg

Toni Braxton, who is a spokeswoman for the American Heart Association, was admitted to the hospital last night after suffering from chest pains during her Las Vegas show. Braxton found out that she had pericarditis during her last pregnancy.

R+B star Toni Braxton has been admitted to a hospital in Las Vegas. The “Unbreak My Heart” singer was taken to St. Rose Dominican Hospital on Monday night after her show at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino, where she has been performing since 2006.

The full details surrounding Braxton’s hospital visit are currently unclear, but she is known to suffer from the heart condition pericarditis, where the sack surrounding the heart becomes inflamed. She is said to be in good condition, according to local news station Fox 5.

Braxton is due to return to the Las Vegas stage on Wednesday (09Apr08), but whether or not that show has been cancelled as a result of her new health problem has yet to be revealed.

[From Contact Music]

Wikipedia says pericarditis symptoms generally present as “Chest pain, radiating to the back and relieved by sitting up forward and worsened by lying down, is the classical presentation. Other symptoms of pericarditis may include dry cough, fever, fatigue and anxiety. Pericarditis can be misdiagnosed as myocardial infarction (heart attack), and vice versa.” There’s a wide variety of causes, ranging from a viral or bacterial infection to Lupus to a heart attack. It sounds like Toni pulled through her whole show, which is amazing. Hopefully Braxton will be okay and make a quick recovery.

Here’s Toni Braxton performing at the House of Blues in Chicago on 3/22/2006. Images thanks to WENN.

Mini-Me is hospitalized for dehydration and flu

vernetroyer.jpg
Verne Troyer, best known as “Mini-Me” in the Austin Powers movies, has been hospitalized. The diminutive actor, who is currently cast in Terry Gilliam’s new movie “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,” which co-starred the late Heath Ledge and now features both Johnny Depp and Colin Ferrell, was battling flu symptoms on the set and was hospitalized for dehydration.

Actor Verne Troyer, best known for his role as “Mini Me” in Austin Powers, was rushed to the hospital today, Usmagazine.com has learned.

A source close to Troyer, 39, says the actor was experiencing “flu-like symptoms” while shooting The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (Heath Ledger’s last movie) in Burnaby, British Columbia.

Adds the source, “He’s been working really hard on the film. They just wanted to hydrate him.”

A rep for Troyer denied that he was treated for a drug-related problem.

“Verne is fine and doing well and is back to work,” the rep tells Us.

Troyer checked into rehab for alcoholism in 2006.

[From Us Weekly]

My question: what the hell kind of weird-ass movie is this, that stars Johnny Depp, Tom Waits, Christoper Plummer…. and Mini-Me? I do hope Verne is feeling better soon, and whatever he’s dealing with goes away. Every time I see him, I can’t help but think of when he appeared on the reality show “The Surreal Life,” and would get blackout drunk to the point that Peter Brady would have to carry him around like a baby and put him to bed.

Note by Celebitchy: Heath Ledger fell ill while shooting that same movie, and the star Terry Gilliam said of Heath’s illness before his death that “We all caught colds because we were shooting outside on horrible, damp nights. But Heath’s went on and I don’t think he dealt with it immediately, even when he was taking antibiotics. I think what he had was the walking pneumonia.”

Now that two actors have fallen ill, do you think they might improve working conditions?

Verne Troyer is shown with “actresses” Tina Holloway and Tiffany Jordan at the Fuse TV Party for the Grammy Awards on 2/7/08, thanks to PRPhotos.

Reality performer medical scares: David Cook of AI and Derek Hough of DWTS

davidcook.jpg
Top 9 “American Idol” contestant David Cook was rushed to the hospital with heart palpitations and dangerously high blood pressure after his performance on the show yesterday.

Cook has been lauded by judges for his risk-taking and strong performances, and performed his own arrangement of Dolly Parton’s “Little Sparrow” last night. Dolly Parton praised his voice and talent during rehearsals.

Cook really nailed the performance and looked at ease on stage. All the judges praised him, with Simon tempering it a little by saying it wasn’t as good as his last performance. Cook was taken to the hospital shortly after the show. He has high blood pressure and the stress sent it skyrocketing. Cook was treated by a private physician, given blood pressure medication and released.

Cook’s brother has cancer and suffered a medical setback recently, and that is said to have contributed to his high level of stress. Hopefully he’s ok now and will be able to find ways to keep his blood pressure down.

derekhough.jpg
Meanwhile dancer Derek Hough, Shannon Elizabeth’s professional partner on “Dancing With The Stars” wrenched his neck during rehearsals yesterday and was taken to the hospital. He recovered, and was back to work.

It’s not an easy job having to preform new material in front of millions of people every week.

Here’s David Cook performing “Little Sparrow” last night. You would never know he was having a problem, and maybe he felt ok until after his performance:

And here’s Derek Hough doing the jive with Shannon Elizabeth on Monday. You can see how he might throw something out with all those moves he’s doing.

Jessica Simpson hospitalized with kidney infection

jessicauti.jpg
Jessica Simpson probably hasn’t mastered the “always pee after sex” rule for women. She is currently hospitalized with a minor kidney infection.

Jessica Simpson is at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles due to a small kidney infection, In Touch can exclusively reveal. “She checked in on Friday morning because she was feeling achy and had a fever,” a friend of the family confirmed. Jessica was kept over the weekend for observations and is expected to be released Tuesday morning. “She is doing fine, but she is ready to get out of there,” added the friend. And although Jessica’s boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys QB, Tony Romo wanted to be by her side, he had prior commitments in Dallas. Get well soon , Jess!

[From In Touch]

I was plagued with urinary tract infections throughout my 20s so I have some sympathy for her. For self-treatment I used to go to the health food store and buy a couple of large jugs of unsweetened cranberry juice and try to drink them within a few hours. It was acidic and nasty, but would usually help. There’s also something called D-Mannose which is supposed to be a safe and effective natural treatment for urinary tract infections and should be available at health food stores.

I was going to comment that Jessica Simpson’s condition makes it clear that her relationship with Tony Romo is on hot terms and felt kind of guilty about it, but then I did five minutes of research and found that’s probably the case, medically-speaking:

In general, however, it is the physical act of intercourse itself that produces conditions that increase susceptibility to the UTI bacteria, with some factors increasing the risk:

  • Women having sex for the first time or who have intense and frequent sex after a period of abstinence are at risk for a condition called “honeymoon cystitis.”
  • A sudden increase in the frequency of sexual intercourse poses a significant risk for UTI, particularly if a diaphragm is used.
  • Sexual position (such as the woman on top) can contribute to the risk.
  • [From University of Maryland Medical Center]

So all that rabid sex that marks the beginning of a relationship can also come at a cost for women.

Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo are shown at the Waverly Inn on 3/4/08, thanks to Splash News.

13 hospital workers get canned for snooping through Britney’s records

UCLA Medical Center has fired 13 workers, will suspend six more, and is set to discipline six doctors for looking at Britney Spear’s computerized medical records without authorization. Hospital officials said this also happened in September, 2005 when she had Sean Preston at that hospital. Instead of installing a security system with multiple levels of access on their computer records, they’re blaming the people who looked at them when they left them wide open. I know people shouldn’t be snooping like that and they’re entirely to blame, but it’s lame of the hospital not to have done something about it the first time and to think the solution is to let heads roll. It’s human nature to snoop like that and they need to hire a programmer because this is going to happen no matter who they fire.

The hospital says that only Britney’s non-psychiatric records were accessible to staff. When anyone uses the system it’s easy to see what they’re looking at, because there’s an audit trail created with their PIN number.

The union for the hospital workers is pissed that only workers at a lower level, and no doctors, are getting fired for the same offense.

Unlike UCLA, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center has a system that lets them limit access to certain records only to people who are authorized to view them. That sounds a hell of a lot cheaper to install than having to hire 13 new workers just because they were nosy.

This isn’t an issue of selling information to the tabloids, either, at least according to the hospital. They say “there is no evidence that any employee leaked information to the media or sold it,” and considering that her psychiatric records were in a separate system, there probably wasn’t much dirt there anyway.

Listen to how UCLA staff spins this to make it sound like they’re doing something about it. There is no mention of installing security measures to limit access, they think that they should trust people and then fire them afterwards:

Questioned about the breaches, officials acknowledged that it was not the first time UCLA had disciplined workers for looking at Spears’ records. Several were caught prying into records after Spears gave birth to her first son, Sean Preston, in September 2005 at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital, officials said. Some were fired.

“It’s not only surprising, it’s very frustrating and it’s very disappointing,” said Jeri Simpson, the Santa Monica hospital’s director of human resources, who handled the discipline in the first instance.

“I feel like we do everything that we possibly can to ensure the privacy of our patients and I know we feel horrible that it happened again.”

Simpson said UCLA treats celebrities “all the time and you never hear about this.”

“I don’t know what it is about this particular person, I don’t know what it is about her,” she added, referring to Spears.

Hoping to head off such problems, UCLA officials sent a memo the morning Spears was hospitalized Jan. 31, reminding employees that they were not allowed to peruse records unless directly caring for a patient. Spears, 26, was not specifically mentioned.

“Each member of our workforce, which includes our physicians, faculty, employees, volunteers and students, is responsible to ensure that medical information is only accessed as required for treatment, for facilitating payment of a claim or for supporting our healthcare operations,” chief compliance and privacy officer Carole A. Klove wrote in an e-mail to all employees.

“Please remember that any unauthorized access by a workforce member will be subject to disciplinary action, which could include termination.”…

Klove declined to discuss specifics of the most recent incidents, citing privacy protections for patients and workers. But she did say the hospital began taking disciplinary actions immediately upon discovering each breach.

“Right from the minute she came in, audits were continually being done,” she said. “We watch this all the time. We have people dedicated to looking at records to monitor access.”

When employees look at a patient’s records electronically, they leave an electronic trail. “We advise all of our workforce that their password is their PIN for lack of a better analogy, and it is their signature,” Klove said. When it is used, the systems track which screens they view and for how long.

    [From The LATimes]

It sounds like that audit trail is working really well for you, UCLA medical center. /End rant on corporate stupidity.

In related news, staff on the set of “How I Met Your Mother,” in which Britney will guest star, are wearing wristbands to make sure that unauthorized people don’t gain access to the set while the pop star is there. Star Neil Patrick Harris said he was even denied entry to the stage once when the security teams changed and didn’t recognize him.

Britney is shown shopping at the Beverly Center yesterday. I wonder if her $1,500 a week allowance rolls over to the next week of if she’s got to use it or lose it. Thanks to WENN for these photos.

OJ’s girlfriend brutally beaten, OJ says she “fell down” (update)

I’m old enough to remember the OJ Simpson double murder trial, in which photos of a bruised and battered Nicole Brown, OJ’s murdered ex wife, were presented as evidence. Brown put the pictures of herself along with her will and newspaper clippings about a 1989 beating she suffered at the hands of her husband in a safety deposit box “just in case.”

Now OJ’s longterm girlfriend, Christie Prody, has suffered a beating so severe that she was bleeding from her brain, with one police officer saying it was the worst case he’d ever seen. OJ’s explanation for Prody’s multiple injuries, including abrasions on her face and bruises all over her body, is that she was drunk and fell down. Prody tested negative for alcohol when she arrived at the hospital. She had been away for about a week and a half before she returned to OJ in Miami and was either beaten senseless or “fell down”

Prody suffered a severe head injury and massive bruises all over her body, sources told The ENQUIRER.

While O.J. says that Prody’s injuries are self-inflicted and explained that the 32-year-old woman went on a drunken binge and fell down, cops aren’t convinced, insiders say.

Investigators said from the damage to Prody’s body, they believe she was beaten. One detective said he has never seen such severe bruises on a woman before.

Police detectives are questioning Simpson at his home today, and are conducting an ongoing investigation into what happened to Prody.

Prody, 32, was rushed to a Baptist Memorial Hospital in Miami Feb 11 after she collapsed at a local gas station.

Police were alerted by hospital authorities after doctors found she was bleeding from her brain — and also had numerous large bruises and abrasions on her face, arms, legs and buttocks.

Prody had spent ten days with O.J.’s friends in San Antonio until she returned to Miami on Feb. 11. Simpson was with her until Feb. 4 when he returned to his Kendall home.

Simpson told police Prody’s wounds were self inflicted and that she had been on a drinking binge.

When Prody was brought into the hospital, there was no trace of alcohol in her blood, sources told The ENQUIRER.

    [From The National Enquirer website]

Simpson has been free on bail in his conspiracy armed robbery case since about mid January despite stiffing his bail bondsman twice and violating the terms of his bail by contacting one of his co-defendants. Simpson and five men held up two sports memorabilia dealers in Las Vegas on September 16th of last year and OJ and two of his conspirators are awaiting trial. Three of the men have accepted plea bargains for their roles in the crime.

It makes you sick to your stomach to think that this guy committed such a heinous crime when he should have been in jail. He was let go under a month ago after being jailed for violating bail by contacting another defendant in his case. His bail bondsman turned him in when he failed to pay him a dime and then asked him to talk to one of his codefendants for him despite the fact that it was strictly prohibited. Prosecutors asked the judge to keep him in jail until his April 4 trial date, but she let him out with a warning.

At least this woman lived and hopefully she won’t have lasting injuries or any brain damage. I read the full manuscript of OJ’s “hypothetical” “If I Did It” book, which was available online shortly last year, and he seemed to be trying to justify double murder, if he really did it and all, and described how Nicole angered him by having candles and music playing when OJ stopped by. OJ caught Ron Goldman arriving with an envelope and accused him of delivering drugs. Ron vehemently denied that he was bringing drugs and showed OJ the sunglasses that Nicole had left at the restaurant where he works. According to the manuscript, OJ just happened to be there with a knife in his hand, and he had a friend with him, who is presumed to have been his accomplice. OJ never described the actual murders, just before when he was in a rage and after, when he was confused to find that he was covered in blood.

Maybe OJ will finally go away for a very long time now that he faces charges for armed robbery along with beating his girlfriend so severely that her brain bled. It may have taken 20 years, but at least OJ will finally spend some significant time, maybe even the rest of his life, in prison.

Header image is of OJ with the bail bondsman who turned him in and is from mid January. Image below of Christie Prody is from September of 2007. Thanks to Splash News for these photos.

Update: TMZ says that they contacted police, who told them that OJ is not a suspect and that Prudy’s injuries are consistent with a bad fall she took at the gas station. And I was so ready to call him guilty of battering his girlfriend.

Britney got out, got chased, went to a hotel, was visited by Adnan and dad

Late yesterday afternoon Britney was released from the UCLA hospital psychiatric ward after a hospital hearing which determined that the stay was not justified. Both her parents and a psychiatrist at the hospital were advocating that she stay for the remainder of her 14 day hold, but they were overruled by a court representative, who interviewed everyone and recommended that she be released. People reports that this is standard procedure in this type of case.

So Britney got out, the paparazzi were thick on her tail and she was driving very erratically, changing lanes dangerously while the paparazzi followed her. (There was a video of the ensuing car chase on TMZ, but it is no longer available.) She did was she’s accustomed to doing, she went to a hotel. She arrived at the Beverly Hills Hotel around 3:30 in the afternoon. TMZ reports that the cops were there shortly afterward to try and disperse the hoard of paparazzi, and according to other accounts they remained at the hotel. Adnan arrived at about 4:40, according to OK! Magazine.

Then Adnan snuck Britney out of the hotel and they arrived at the office of Britney’s new lawyer, Adam Streisand around 5:20. At 7:00, Britney was somehow secreted out of the building under a blanket by one of Adnan’s paparazzo friends and she returned to the Beverly Hills Hotel. The police were still at the hotel at that time.

Britney’s father showed up at around 9:00 and he was seen talking to the hotel staff. About 20 minutes later, according to OK!’s timeline, more police came while Adnan and Britney remained up in her room.

At 9:30, Britney’s father entered her room with paperwork in his hand and the police still standing around. There were guards standing around her car, and that’s where OK!’s story ends. It’s a cliffhanger.

    TMZ
maybe provides some closure for Britney’s eventful day by saying that Britney’s father, Jamie, who is currently the conservator of her estate, will likely be in court today to make specific requests about his daughter. Since he has legal control over her estate, finances and all contracts she signs, he can say that she’s not authorized to stay in a hotel and has the authority to restrict her visitors.

Britney’s parents have released a statement conveying their disappointment in this whole situation, saying that she was released against their wishes and the wishes of the attending physician in the hospital:

“As parents of an adult child in the throws of a mental health crisis, we were extremely disappointed this morning to learn that over the recommendation of her treating psychiatrist, our daughter Britney was released from the hospital that could best care for her and keep her safe. We are deeply concerned about our daughter’s safety and vulnerability and we believe her life is presently at risk. There are conservatorship orders in place created to protect our daughter that are being blatantly disregarded. We ask only that the court’s orders be enforced so that a tragedy may be averted.”

    [From TMZ]

What’s the future for Britney now? It seems that if she’s not hospitalized she’s just going to keep driving around, shopping, and staying at hotels with swarms of paparazzi making the situation incredibly dangerous for her and innocent bystanders. If nothing changes, it seems like it’s just a matter of time before there’s a car accident or someone gets hurt. Maybe this will bring awareness to the need for some legal restrictions on the paparazzi. There are plans for a new ordinance in LA that would create a “personal safety zone” around celebrities and others who are in the media. Is it too little too late?

Here is Britney arriving at the Beverly Hills Hotel. I’m trying to use pictures that convey the amount of people surrounding her. Thanks to WENN.

Update: Britney was said to be back at her home that evening at around 11:00 pm PST after having dinner out with Adnan. When she returned her mother and father were waiting for her. At first Brit was said to have been nervous and wanted to leave, but she eventually went in with Adnan. It is thought that her parents are staging an intervention and trying to convince her to go back into treatment.

Delta Burke in psychiatric hospital for depression & compulsive hoarding

TMZ is reporting that “Designing Women” actress Delta Burke, 51, has checked herself into a psychiatric hospital for treatment of severe depression, obsessive compulsive disorder and hoarding. TMZ has a clip on their website of Burke’s description of why she decided to check herself into a facility and what mental issues she’s dealing with. Delta talks about trying to get her various medications worked out - which can be an arduous process for people who are only on two prescriptions - and she’s on five. She also mentions that she was as bad as those people you see on television who have stacks of newspapers piled to the ceiling.

The former Designing Women star, 51, is apparently seeking treatment for symptoms of depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder and “hoarding” which on an audio clip provided by TMZ she is heard likening to what is seen in the homes of people who have stockpiled row upon row of newspapers.

“I was on so many medications and they just weren’t working,” Burke is also heard saying on the clip. “I was on five.” Among them, she says are “anti-depressants and stuff.”

    [From People]

I really commend Delta for recognizing she has a problem, needs help, and taking action to get it. I can’t imagine anything that would be more frightening than checking into a psychiatric facility. And I would expect that things must have gotten pretty bad for her to do that. Most people know the basics of depression, but few know about hoarding. Wikipedia defines hoarding as:

Compulsive hoarding (or pathological hoarding) is extreme hoarding behaviour in humans. It involves the collection and/or failure to discard large numbers of objects even when their storage causes significant clutter and impairment to basic living activities such as moving around the house, cooking, cleaning, showering or sleeping. Hoarding rubbish may be referred to as syllogomania. A slang term for a compulsive hoarder is pack rat or packrat.

    [From Wikipedia]

I dated someone who was a terrible hoarder, and it was truly the most frustrating experience of my life. It was so aggravating to have talks about keeping things clean and normal looking, and then find a box filled with nothing but Styrofoam - just because why throw it out? I would find broken toys, pieces of garbage, Denny’s place mats, empty bottles of Orbitz soda from 1996 (“Because someday it might be worth something!) all carefully hidden to avoid detection. It was really frustrating because he didn’t recognize that it was a problem and was abnormal, unhealthy behavior.

Click here for a great example of a clutter scale. This was put together by psychologists as an example of different levels of hoarding. When you go through picture by picture, you’ll notice a few are out of order, but you can get the idea by looking at the image that shows all the pictures as a whole.

Hoaders often have to make pathways through the crap in their own homes. I was in a home several times that was occupied by an entire family of hoarders. They literally had piles of papers stacked to the ceilings, bags of garbage, dirty blankets, etc. All that bric-a-brac you see people getting rid of at garage sales was stuffed into this house. It basically looked like a Value Village run amok. Everything was old, dingy, and useless.

In an extreme, hoarders can literally save so many things that they are forced to move out of their own homes. They actually choose to do that instead of getting rid of things. Apparently throwing anything away induces a sense of panic. Several studies have shown that hoarding is closely related to obsessive compulsive disorder. A 2004 University of Iowa study found that damage to the brain’s right mesial prefrontal cortex tends to cause compulsive hoarding. The thought is that the part of the brain that helps discern what stuff is and is not important does not function properly in hoarders. Thus they’re not able to logically and rationally determine that saving a napkin from Burger King is less important than saving a monogrammed napkin from your wedding. It really is a miserable and overwhelming way to live. Let’s hope Delta gets good treatment and her issues under control.

Picture Note by JayBird: Here’s a few pictures of rooms in hoarder’s homes.

Everything stays the same for Britney

So Britney somehow hired a new lawyer to represent her in court to challenge the ruling that her father be made conservator of her estate. The judge ruled against Britney’s side, saying that her father, Jamie, can remain in control of her finances and all medical decisions regarding his daughter until February 14th.

Britney’s lawyer, Adam Streisand, who is said to be Barbara Streisand’s second cousin, requested that Northern Trust bank and Howard Grossman, who is Britney’s business manager, be appointed instead as Britney’s conservators. He argued that having her father run her estate is unnecessarily frustrating for Britney. His request was denied and the judge said that Britney wasn’t even mentally competent enough to have hired Streisand to represent her. She will presumably be represented by a lawyer appointed by the court. That court-appointed lawyer visited her in the hospital on Sunday and told the judge that she’s not capable enough to understand the legal case or to have hired her own lawyer. A physician will examine Britney to determine her level of competence and report to the court on February 13.

The lawyers for Britney’s father, Jamie, wanted to have Britney’s legal team of Trope and Trope, who are said to be aligned with Sam Lutfi, fired. That request was not granted and Britney can retain their services. It’s not clear why they did not represent her in this specific case and how she obtained a different lawyer.

The judge addressed the restraining order against Lutfi, saying that the order is that Britney have absolutely no contact with him, including phone calls or e-mail. She is rumored to have been talking to him on the phone. When the conservators of Britney’s estate tried to serve the restraining order personally to Lutfi yesterday, he refused to open the door.

There was also yet another custody hearing for Britney and K-Fed on Monday. It was said to have been scheduled before she was hospitalized for this second time. The verdict is that there will be no changes for now and that she cannot see either of her boys. Britney’s legal reps in the custody battle wanted to request that they be taken off the case, but have withdrawn that request given their clients extreme recent problems.

Meanwhile Britney’s paparazzi boyfriend, Adnan Ghalib, attempted to visit her in the hospital bearing roses. He was seen looking upset while leaving about 20 minutes later, and OK! Magazine reports that it is unknown if he was actually able to see her.

Details from People, AP, TMZ, and OK! Magazine.
