Star Magazine has a new cover story that Sarah Jessica Parker’s husband of 11 years, Matthew Broderick, 46, had a now-over affair earlier in the year with a 25 year-old “youth counselor” he met in a bar. Star has plenty of details and supposedly has “sources” to support their tale, but they have been busted making up supporting information for completely bogus stories in the past and this isn’t necessarily accurate or even based on any eyewitness accounts. It’s worrying, though, and you wonder if there’s any truth to it:

In the new issue of Star — on newsstands now — we report that while the beloved actress was frantically searching for hubby Matthew Broderick one night earlier this year, he was having sex in the city with a gorgeous redhead half his age, the young woman told a friend.

After meeting in a bar, Matthew began text messaging the 25-year-old youth counselor, says the woman’s pal. Soon after, the insider claims, they began seeing each other and things got passionate quickly when they met at the Manhattan townhouse of a showbiz friend.

Sources say the woman felt conflicted with her relationship with Matthew, whom she nicknamed “Matty Cakes.” She tried to end it, say insiders, but that didn’t happen and over the next month — when Sarah Jessica was filming Sex and the City: The Movie in Los Angeles — multiple eyewitnesses say they saw Matthew make late-night visits to the other woman’s apartment building.

During one tryst, they arrived at her friend’s apartment after a night of heavy drinking, says a source. She dragged Matthew into the friend’s bedroom, then shut the door. “A half hour later, Matthew opened the bedroom door, mumbled ‘Well… ‘bye!’ and walked out. The friend found her passed out on the bed in her panties.”

There are rumors that Broderick plays for the other team, but those seem to be based on the fact that he does a lot of theater work and has gay friends as a result. Parker and Broderick have been married for over ten years and those rumors have little merit.

Maybe some fan girl made up a story and told Star she has a friend who had a fling with Broderick. Remember that crazy story that a French prostitute told X17 about how she had an affair with Eva Longoria’s husband Tony Parker? That wasn’t true at all and the woman even tricked a “Germany’s Next Top Model” contestant into reading from a script and recording videos claiming she had an affair with Tony.

This is Star, though, so there might not even be a woman who claims to have a friend who had an affair with Broderick, or she might work in their mail office and happened to have agreed to the story after a few cocktails. MSat reminded me today that a photo Star ran on their “ANGIE COLLAPSES!” cover was just Brad helping pregnant Angelina up after she was sitting on the beach.

Yesterday Maddona and her husband of seven years, Guy Ritchie, made a strained public outing in light of rumors that each of them has consulted divorce attorneys. There’s also a story in the upcoming issue of US Magazine that claims that Madonna, 49, has been carrying on an affair with NY Yankees player Alex Rodriguez, 32.

Madonna’s rep has of course denied that there’s any infidelity or plans for divorce. Madonna and Guy followed their standard operating procedure whenever there are rumors questioning the fitness of their marriage - they went out together and invited the paparazzi to document it. If they’re willing to do that they’re probably willing to work out whatever issues they have that boiled over to the press. They might just stay together.

The NY Daily News adds some credence to the story that Madonna and Alex Rodriguez were having an affair. They report that Rodriguez and his wife of five years, Cynthia, are separated. Cynthia and Alex have two daughters together, aged three and half and two months. There’s a questionable rumor that Cynthia is now having an affair with rocker Lenny Kravitz, and has joined him in Paris for a few days while he’s on tour. Her mother denies that’s true, and I can’t see the mother of a two month old jetting off to Paris for a new guy, but it’s possible. To make this story more complicated, Madonna dated Lenny Kravitz back in 1990.

Yankee star Alex Rodriguez and his wife, Cynthia, have split after about three months of problems in their marriage, a source with knowledge of the situation told the Daily News Wednesday…

“It’s true,” the source said of A-Rod’s separation from his wife of five years. “They’ve been having problems for about three months.”

Word of the couple’s marital strife comes less than three months after they expressed how “thrilled” they were with the April 21 birth of their daughter, Ella Alexander.

Rodriguez, 32, didn’t join his wife in Miami until 10 minutes after she gave birth, and spent only a day with her and their newborn before rejoining the Yankees.

Revelations of the couple’s not-so-great-nuptials came as new rumors surfaced on the Internet that Cynthia Rodriguez, 34, was having a fling with rocker Lenny Kravitz.

The gossip item on PerezHilton.com quoted a “family friend” claiming C-Rod had gone on a romantic getaway in Paris with Kravitz.

“She is not! I know that,” Cynthia Rodriguez’s mother, Evangeline Scurtis, told The News yesterday. Scurtis refused to discuss the status of her daughter’s relationship with Rodriguez, repeatedly saying, “No comment.”

Kravitz, 44, is in the middle of his “Love Revolution Tour” in Europe.

Coincidentally, A-Rod, Madonna and Kravitz all share the same manager, Guy Oseary.

If A-Rod has been visiting Madonna’s apartment late at night at least he’s not doing it while his wife waits at home thinking he’s out with the guys. There is speculation that Madonna and Guy have an open marriage, or maybe Madonna had a fling and is ready to go back to work on her marriage with the same focused zeal she approaches every other area of her life. She’ll whip it into shape just like she molds her body into a tiny powerhouse. I have a feeling this whole story will die down and it will soon be back to Madonna gyrating to her throbbing music, making us pay attention to her upturned crotch and astounding athletic ability instead of her troubled personal life.

Christie Brinkley fought to have her divorce proceedings with her husband of 12 years, Peter Cook, made public. Her lawyer is said to have advised her to keep the details private out of concern for her two children with Cook, Sailor, 10, and Jack, 13. The trial is barely underway and Christie has learned that there’s much more to her husband’s wild ways than she assumed. She said of his shocking testimony that she “heard a lot of new things I didn’t know” and needed “some time to let it all absorb.”

Cook, 49, took the stand yesterday on the first day of court and started crying while he confessed to infidelity and an addiction to online porn. He admitted to webcam sex and to an affair with the 18 year-old he hired to work at the architecture firm he owned. Cook said he gave the woman he cheated with, Diana Bianchi, $300,000 last year to keep the affair private. To make it worse, Brinkley, 54, is said to be the one who paid for everything in their marriage:

Cook, who broke down crying after getting grilled on the stand today by the supermodel’s lawyer, admitted he masturbated in front of a web cam and frequented escort, porn and swinger sites, all while married to Brinkley. He also admitted that he had sex with then-teenager Diana Bianchi in his office while she worked for him. He testified he gave Bianchi nearly $300k hoping to keep their tryst on the down low. He said he would leave money for her under a rock outside his office and more cash behind a painting. He also said he bought her a $2000 watch and lingerie.

Attorneys for Brinkley have laid out a sordid story of Cook’s history — get a load of this stuff!

They’ve alleged, among other things, son Jack accidentally found porny pics of young girls on Cook’s computer. The lawyers have also highlighted Cook’s felony cocaine conviction and the time he served in jail.

Brinkley and Cook had a prenup and Brinkley will be able to keep her $30 million mansion. They are fighting over custody of their two children.

The other woman, Diana Bianchi, testified and said that Cook hired her to work at his office and gradually convinced her to date him. She says she sex with him about 10 times. They stopped seeing each other at the end of 2005.

Christie Brinkley’s 22 year-old daughter from her marriage to Billy Joel, Alexa Ray Joel, also took the stand. She painted a picture of Cook as a controlling man with a mean streak and told a story about how he once pushed her head into a bucket to get her to clean up some water.

Cook admits spending $3,000 a month on porn in 2005, and said he often used porn to rev things up in the bedroom with Brinkley.

Lawyers for Cook tried to make Brinkley out to be a bad mother for working to make her divorce public:

Brinkley fought a bid by the children’s legal guardian to close the trial to the public, and Cook’s lawyer said the model was partly to blame for an unseemly spectacle.

“For goodness sake: She’s on her fourth husband,” Sheresky told the court. “Your honor, we’re here because of the self-indulgent wrath of a woman scorned.”

“What kind of a mother wants her husband flogged in public?” he said.

Brinkley isn’t the person who had an affair with someone 30 years younger and then try to pay them off to keep it quiet. Yes she was scorned, but it’s stupid to complain that she wants her husband’s awful behavior made public. She might regret it now, but the things he did were inexcusable and you can understand how she would react that way. It’s a shame their kids are going to hear about it, though.

The Madonna and Guy Ritchie divorce saga just got a hell of a lot more interesting. Madonna is said to have been visited late at night at her NY apartment by NY Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, 32, also known as A-Rod. US Weekly is set to detail their covert relationship in their upcoming issue. They have plenty of circumstantial evidence that seems to suggest that 49 year-old Madonna is getting some on the side, and that it may have contributed to the demise of her marriage. What’s more is that A-Rod is married himself with two daughters, aged three and a half and two months, and this is not the first allegation that he’s cheated on his wife.

Us Weekly reports in its new issue, on newsstands tomorrow, that Madonna’s seven-year marriage to Guy Ritchie has stalled out – and the singer has been hosting late-night visits from New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez at her Central Park West apartment in New York City.

A ringless and grim-faced Ritchie, 39, arrived in New York City from London yesterday after several weeks apart from his family. A source tells Us that the $28-million-a-year Rodriguez, 32, has made numerous solo nighttime visits to Madonna, 49, at her spacious home and would sneak out “as late as midnight.” Says the source, “All the doormen are talking.”

Rodriguez attended Madonna’s April 30 NYC concert; the singer sat in his seats at a Yankees game on June 22 (it was the first time she ever was photographed at a Yankees game). Her son Rocco, 7, also sported Yankees gear on June 25 while playing in Central Park.

Rodriguez, married with two young daughters, has already faced speculation about cheating: In 2007, he and a stripper were reportedly spied in Toronto, Miami and Dallas.

Guy Ritchie is now in NY and it’s not known if he’s met with Madonna or what their plans are. Neither of them is wearing their wedding band, but Madonna’s rep says she rarely wears hers anyway.

Cheating is wrong, but part of me is smiling and shaking my head that Madonna is hooking up with a hot baseball player 17 years her junior. He’s a married dad and should be off limits, no matter the state of their respective marriages. The rules for average people don’t apply to the mighty Madonna obviously. She’s done with her husband and she’s ready to get a taste of her old life again.

Madonna has a new video from “Hard Candy” out called “Give It 2 Me.” She struts around in flattering lighting wearing next to nothing. It was co-produced and co-written by Pharrel and I would much rather see that guy dancing around in his underwear, but unfortunately he keeps his shirt on the whole time. Can Madonna ever make a video that’s not about her? It seems like she should vary the formula she’s used for making videos since the beginning of her career in the 80s.

The music is pretty decent. Madonna knows what she’s doing by hooking up with younger talented music makers.

In 2004, Marc Anthony secured a quickie divorce in the Dominican Republic from his wife of over three years and mother of two of his children, former miss Universe Dayanara Torres, 33. He was married to Jennifer Lopez within a few months. When Anthony left Torres amid rumors that he was cheating with his former girlfriend Jennifer Lopez, with whom he was collaborating, Torres says she was devastated and couldn’t get out of bed for days. Torres refuses to talk poorly about Anthony or to denounce his behavior in the press. She has a new book out, Married to Me: How Committing to Myself Led to Triumph After Divorce, in which she chronicles her recovery from the pain of an unexpected split and divorce. In an interview in this week’s People Magazine she discusses the very difficult time she went through when Anthony left her, but doesn’t address the story that he was cheating on her with Lopez or bad mouth him in any way:

[Dayanara Torres’ story] is a fair tale with a happy, if hard-earned, ending. Now living in L.A. with the sons she had with Anthony, Cristian, 7, and Ryan, 4, Torres has rarely spoken publicly about the split. “You get mad,” she says. “But I took the high road.” As she reveals in Married to Me, the new self-help book she cowrote with her sister Jeannette to inspire divorcées, the journy hasn’t been easy. “You want to move on as quick as possible… But you realize time is your friend. You have to get through to the other side.

She went through more than her share. After Anthony left, she found herself barely able to get out of bed. “You go through hell,” she says, her blue eyes soft. “I cried until there were no tears left - until I was numb. I didn’t want to eat; I didn’t care to get dressed or take a shower. I just wanted to like there.” But after a few months, she got a wake up call from another man in her life. “One day Cristian walked in and said ‘You’re crying again?’ I felt embarassed that they saw their mother being weak. I woke up. I realized I’d been crying for all the wrong reasons.”

She pulled herself together and tried to make things right. “I didn’t want them to choose sides,” says Torres, who keeps photos of Anthony throughout her home for the boy’s sake. “He’s not someone we need to hide - he’ll always be their father. And to this day, I don’t think they’ve seen our divorce as a bad thing.”

People has details of Torres’ book, and say that she advises women fresh out of a divorce to “Let yourself feel the pain, Let go of regret,” and not to rush into another relationship until they’re ready. As for her husband’s new marriage, Torres talks about how happy her sons were to learn about their half-brother and sister, twins Max and Emme, nearly four months. She says “They love them! It’s cute to see.”

Torres is moving on with her life and says she’s “happy, and I don’t pin my happiness on anybody else.” She used to date Amaury Nolasco, Fernando from Prison Break, but they are “taking a break” now and she says he’s “a great guy.” She calls her life a new adventure and says she’s got healthy kids and great friends.

She deserves a lot of credit for not talking smack about Anthony or Lopez after they so obviously hooked up while he was still married with kids. She’s getting her digs in subtly by just focusing on how she suffered but not discussing her husband’s infidelity. And she continues to look like the more responsible, and wronged, party. Hopefully her new book will be a success.

People Magazine has more insider dirt from Shaina Twain’s divorce after 14 years. I’ve said for a while that it seems like Shania is leaking the story to People herself, because they have too many insider details and she’s a woman who was wronged and isn’t about to let her husband and his mistress get away with it. Now People has a denial from the other woman. Shania’s husband “Mutt” Lange denied the affair in an earlier statement, saying that he and Shania grew apart. It sounds they pressed the alleged mistress for an answer though, because her first statement was evasive. Plus People claims to have “several sources close to the situation” who vouch for the fact that Shania’s husband cheated with this woman, who was one of Shania’s close friends in Switzerland along with managing their estate and serving as -ahem- secretary to her husband:

Speaking publicly for the first time since the news of the alleged affair became public, Marie-Anne Thiébaud, 37, told PEOPLE, “You cannot believe everything you read in the press.” When asked directly if she had an affair with Twain’s husband, music producer Robert “Mutt” Lange, she replied, “No.”

That contradicts several sources close to the situation, who say Thiébaud and Lange left their spouses for each other and continue to maintain a romantic relationship. Twain, 42, and Lange, 59, who have a 6-year-old son, Eja, announced their separation May 15. Since then, the “You’re Still the One” singer – “devastated” by the revelations, according to sources – has sought refuge with family in her native Canada.

Thiébaud began working for the ultra-private couple after they moved to Switzerland in 2000, acting as their personal assistant, secretary and manager of their vast château. By all accounts, she became one of Twain’s closest confidants. The two attended the 2006 Swiss Red Cross Ball together (PEOPLE’s exclusive first photos of Thiébaud showed the pair at the event, posing together and smiling).

Maybe the mistress, who was also married when she began the alleged affair with Shania’s husband, doesn’t think it’s cheating if they were each having problems with their other relationships. Or maybe the woman has no qualms about lying to the press. Why would Shania smear this person and her husband if they weren’t cheating? I believe her, but it’s also between her and her husband and we have no way of verifying the story. They have a six year-old son together though and he’s bound to read all about this when he’s of age. Still, I would probably do the same thing if I was in Shania’s position. (As much as I like to think I would take the high road.)

Tony Romo had a bunch of reasons to dump Jessica Simpson: her dad was supposedly interfering in his football career, his career was rumored to be suffering from all the media attention, and she gave way too much information about their relationship in a recent interview with Glamour magazine, calling him her “future husband.” Tony and Jessica seem to have reunited for now, though, because he accompanied her to her sister’s wedding over the weekend.

But the main reason Tony should have dumped Jessica is because she’s said to have been cheating on him behind his back with two different guys. The National Enquirer has a new exclusive claiming that she’s been with both mock-worthy emo rocker Jared Leto, and actor Zach Braff since getting together with Tony.

[Jessica Simpson’s] fling with Zach Braff began after a recent party hosted by Diddy, when the mogul received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“They spent that night together and several others,” the source said.

“Then she turned to Jared [Leto] for several more romantic trysts! And this was happening right under Tony Romo’s nose!”

At one point she was juggling all three guys, according to the source.

Jessica Simpson is rumored to have cheated on her ex-husband, Nick Lachey, with several guys including Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, her Dukes of Hazzard co-star Johnny Knoxville, and his friend, Bam Margera. So if this is true it’s not out of character for her. It’s possible her relationship with Tony has had it’s share of splits that have been kept from the public and that if she did hook up with these guys it was at a time when she was estranged from the quarterback.

The woman that Shania Twain’s husband of 14 years allegedly cheated with, his secretary Marie-Anne Thiébaud, was a close friend of Shania’s family. People has a new story about the affair complete with a picture of Shania and the other woman, and says that “Shania considered Marie-Anne one of her best friends” and that their families even vacationed together.

It’s been pretty clear to me from the start of this Shania Twain divorce story that Shania’s camp is behind the leaks to People Magazine. People does not seem likely to run “insider” stories with such conviction unless they have news directly from someone’s rep. Now that they have a picture of the other woman with Shania it definitely looks like she’s the one feeding them information and details on her divorce. It’s as if Shania is holding up the mistress for public condemnation and as a comparison to how gorgeous she is, because they’re standing right next to each other in the photo.

And can you blame her? She must be livid that this was going on right under her nose. There’s been some speculation that Shania Twain and her husband haven’t had sex in some time, because she’s said to practice a religion called “Sant Mat,” that supposedly does not allow sex except for procreation. (Thanks to commenter “Other Karen” for this article, written by People Magazine in 2002.) I couldn’t verify that Sant Mat actually has this abstinence requirement of followers, though, nor is there any confirmation that Shania continues to practice it more than five years after she gave that interview to People.

If you were in Shania’s position, would you tell the press all about how your husband betrayed you along with providing a photo of his new mistress to illustrate your point? I can’t say it wouldn’t occur to me.

The National Enquirer has an exclusive story that Jodie Foster’s 14 year relationship with Cydney Bernard ended after Jodie started cheating with a woman she met on a movie set last year. Jodie and Cydney have two children together, sons aged 6 and 9, and they’re still living together at this point, but Jodie is about to move out:

Jodie Foster cheated on her lesbian partner of 14 years with a younger, prettier woman who is now her new girlfriend!

The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively that the Oscar winner’s new love is brunette Cindy Mort, a producer and screenwriter she met on the set of her 2007 film The Brave One.

The 47-year-old star’s new squeeze is the former partner of thirtysomething actress Melanie Mahron — with whom she has two children!

Meanwhile, 55-year-old Cydney Bernard is still living with Jodie but their romance is over, say sources.

Jodie has never publicly identified the father of her 6- and 9-year-old sons, Charles and Kit.

” Although she and Cydney remain under the same roof at the moment,” a close pal told The ENQUIRER, “the relationship has been shattered.”

This is the second 14 year relationship that was publicly pronounced over this week due to cheating with a co-worker.

People Magazine has more details of the Shania Twain split, probably leaked by Shania’s camp, and Shania says that the secretary her husband cheated on her with was “one of her best friends,” and that “their two families would vacation and spend holidays together.” Can you imagine?

Hopefully the woman Jodie Foster cheated on her longterm partner with wasn’t someone they knew together, but that must not soften the blow for Cydney. Maybe this story is inaccurate though and they were already separated but living together when Jodie met someone else. It doesn’t sound like that’s the case, but you never know what’s going on in someone else’s home. Right now we’re relying on tabloid reports, and no one is likely to confirm or deny anything. Jodie only acknowledged she even had a partner about five months ago.

When I heard that Shania Twain and her husband split after 14 years of marriage, I assumed it was one of those things where they grew apart. Shania, 42, and her producer husband Robert “Mutt” Lange, 59, announced their split last week. Shania is a country music crossover superstar, and has spent much of the last eight years living in Switzerland away from the media spotlight.

People Magazine reports that, like many divorces, it wasn’t just an issue of the two of them not relating to each other or not getting along - “Mutt” was cheating with his married Swiss secretary!

Reached by PEOPLE after the separation was announced in a statement, Lange called the split “an unfortunate thing.” He added, “It’s literally just a growing apart, that’s all.”

But sources close to the situation say a third party was involved: Marie Ann Thiébaud, a longtime secretary and manager of the couple’s chateau in Switzerland. “Mutt and Marie Ann left their spouses for each other and are still in a relationship,” says one source.

Lange denies the claims. “It’s absolutely not the reason [for the separation],” the famously reclusive producer told PEOPLE when asked about the alleged affair. He also denied that he was in a romantic relationship with Thiébaud: “I’m not, no,” he said. “It’s not true.” (Thiébaud could not be reached for comment.)

The only thing I can imagine that would be worse than having your husband cheat on you with a co-worker you also knew and trusted would be to have him cheat with your best friend. I’m sure there are even more heart-wrenching scenarios, but it all comes down to a massive betrayal that’s gone on behind your back. Shania’s husband denies it, and it’s possible he’s telling the truth and that Shania’s camp leaked the news in order to garner sympathy for her. This is People, though, so it’s probably directly from Shania’s rep if they’re printing it. She has a perfume and an album coming out this year and could definitely use the publicity, but she doesn’t seem like the type to seek it out with such negative news.

The cynical side of me was waiting to see her at the Academy of Country Music Awards, where she showed up for a rare appearance last year. It seemed like she was announcing her split right before the event in order to make a big impact. She wasn’t there, which makes it seem as if she could be the jilted wife this story makes her out to be.

Shania and her aptly-named estranged husband, Mutt Lange, have one child together, a six year old son, Eja D’Angelo.
