Jamie Foxx apologizes for rant on Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus
Jamie Foxx went on a shocking and unprovoked rant on Miley Cyrus on his Sirius radio show over the weekend. Along with his co-hosts, he ripped on Miley for getting offended after Radiohead refused to meet her at the Grammys. In a clip of the show posted on YouTube, you hear a female DJ telling Miley to “go make a sex tape” and Foxx agrees saying “go make a sex tape,” the female DJ adding “with your daddy.” Foxx then takes it farther “Do like Lindsay Lohan and start being a lesbian… put some crack in your pipe. Catch chlamydia on a bicycle seat.” He want on to suggest that Cyrus try heroin.

Foxx has publicly apologized to Miley for his obnoxious comments. On the Tonight Show last night he initially gave the lame excuse that he’s a comedian, but then told Miley he did apologize to her directly and said he would call her:

The Oscar-winning actor appeared on Tuesday night’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno to admit that maybe… just maybe… he might have been a bit too harsh on the 16-year-old Hannah Montana star.

“I am a comedian, and you guys know that whatever I say, I don’t mean any of it,” he tried to explain to Jay. “And sometimes, as comedians, as we do, we go a little bit too far… There was a situation with Miley Cyrus, and I just want to say, I apologize for what I said. I didn’t mean it maliciously.”

As if that weren’t enough, the actor looked directly into the camera to beg for mercy from the teen superstar. “Miley, I apologize, so I’ll call you,” he said. “I got a daughter too, so I completely understand.”

Of course, the real test will come next weekend, when Jamie’s new film The Soloist, co-starring Robert Downey, Jr., hits theaters and goes up against the current box-office champ, Miley’s Hannah Montana flick.

[From OK! Magazine]

E! Online’s Marc Malkin reported yesterday that Miley and her dad were disappointed by Foxx’s comments, particularly since they’ve met him and are fans. Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus are said to have made the decision not to talk about the controversy in an attempt to let it die down. Now Miley looks like the wronged party for once instead of just a teenage girl making careless comments and offending people. Foxx and his radio buddies should have known better than to say such incredibly rude things about a 16 year old girl, but at least he apologized. A little more contrition would have been appreciated like “I was entirely in the wrong,” instead of just “I didn’t mean it that way.”

I’m really looking forward to seeing The Soloist as it looks like an incredible film. This controversy should blow over by then, and hopefully Foxx’s stupid comments haven’t affected people’s willingness to see his film.

Jamie Foxx says Miley Cyrus needs to ‘make a sex tape & grow up’

Miley Cyrus
Jamie Foxx really does not care for Miley Cyrus. Foxx has a Sirius radio show, and on this weekend’s show he and a few other people discussed Miley in some pretty graphic and ugly ways. Foxx’s comments started out because he was discussing the now infamous Miley Cyrus-Radiohead incident at the Grammys.

Here’s a quick summary of the incident: Miley complained after the Grammys about how she didn’t get to meet Radiohead. She had her people go to Radiohead’s dressing room and ask if they would come to meet her. Radiohead, of course, weren’t interested. Miley initially told the story to Ryan Seacrest, saying that Radiohead used to be her, like, totally favorite band, but after they dissed her, they weren’t anymore. Thom Yorke (lead singer of Radiohead) then gave a statement to US Weekly, “When Miley grows up, she’ll learn not to have such a sense of entitlement.” Best. Statement. Ever.

Unfortunately, Jamie Foxx did not show Thom Yorke’s constraint or brevity. Foxx went off about Miley in a really crude way, saying Miley needed to go “make a sex tape and grow up… Get like Britney Spears and do some heroin… get some crack in your pipe… Catch chlamydia on a bicycle seat.” Yikes.

Jamie Foxx had some not-so-nice words for Miley Cyrus during his weekend Sirius radio show “The Foxxhole,” judging by a audio posted on YouTube and heard below.

During a discussion criticizing Miley, 16, for being upset at not getting to meet Radiohead backstage at the Grammys, Foxx, 41, told her to get a gum transplant and to “make a sex tape and grow up… Get like Britney Spears and do some heroin… get some crack in your pipe… Catch chlamydia on a bicycle seat.”

Someone else is heard calling her a “white bitch.”

Foxx has a teenage daughter.

From The Huffington Post

Miley Cyrus is a well-documented brat, and as Thom Yorke said, an entitled, immature girl. But to attack her as Jamie Foxx did is… gross. That’s the only word I have for it. It just disgusts me, and I’m a big fan of Jamie Foxx. I’ll probably be rethinking that fondness unless Jamie Foxx releases some kind of statement or apology. I don’t see how he could just leave those kinds of comments out there.

Audio is not safe at work at all:

Jamie Foxx’s stalker arrested in Philadelphia

music and entertainment 160309
Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler have been filming Law Abiding Citizen in Philadelphia since the beginning of the year. We’ve heard some semi-regular updates on filming, especially with regards to Gerard and his nakedness. But Jamie Foxx has been pretty quiet. Someone was keeping tabs on the Oscar winner though.

The guy’s name is Steven Taliver, and he’s Jamie Foxx’s stalker. He attempted to force his way into Foxx’s Philly hotel suite by pretending to be one of Beyonce’s producers. When Foxx realized Taliver was a whack job, Foxx managed to keep Taliver from entering the hotel room. US Magazine’s timeline is a little sketchy, but I think Taliver must have left the hotel, only to continue his stalking the next day or several days later on the film’s set. Foxx’s security team noticed the man, called the police, and Taliver was arrested:

A man who forced his way into Jamie Foxx’s hotel room last week was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of stalking and other charges.

On March 22, Steven Taliver, 49, barged into the Oscar winner’s Philadelphia hotel suite after posing as one of Beyonce’s producers, according to TMZ. After realizing he didn’t know the man, Foxx reportedly managed to keep him from fully entering the room and slammed the door.

Taliver was booked after Foxx’s security team noticed him near the set of Foxx’s new movie, Law Abiding Citizen, and called the police. He was then taken into police custody.
Although Foxx couldn’t discuss the altercation due to legality concerns, he said he was fine.

“I’m good now,” Foxx told Access Hollywood Thursday. “Shout out to Philadelphia and the mayor and everybody else to make sure it’s good.”

He added: “Sometimes you have to make sure every move you make in life is the right thing, and that you have people there to watch your back.”

From US Magazine

Sounds like everybody did the right thing. Except for the stalker, of course. It sounds like Foxx was alone in his suite when Taliver tried to enter. If Jamie’s security team was on site, wouldn’t they have helped him? So he must have been alone. I don’t care how big and tough Jamie Foxx is, that situation must have been scary. Let’s hope Taliver gets the kind of punishment that will keep him away from Jamie Foxx.

Jamie Foxx is shown at an event for 103.3 The Beat in Philadelphia. Thanks to WENN.com for these photos.

Robery Downey Jr. and Jamie Foxx in pure Oscar bait: ‘The Soloist’

Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Foxx star in The Soloist, a film based on a true story about an LA Times journalist who befriended a homeless schizophrenic man who also happened to have attended the prestigious Juilliard school of music. Journalist Steve Lopez wrote several columns about his troubled friend, Nathaniel Ayers, and published the book The Soloist: A Lost Dream, an Unlikely Friendship, and the Redemptive Power of Music in April of this year. The story is so compelling that it was made into a screenplay and production was started on the film before the book was released. The Soloist will be out in the US on November 21, just in time for Oscar season. Judging from the trailer it’s likely to be nominated in several categories. It looks like an incredible mix of a highly watchable and meaningful film and I know I’m looking forward to seeing it.

Jamie Foxx yodeling on Wetten Das

Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Garner were on popular German talkshow “Wetten Das?” or “Wanna Bet?,” which broadcast from Basel, Switzerland on Saturday. The show features average people performing silly stunts, with guests betting on whether they’ll be able to successfully complete the bet in the time allotted. They were on to promote The Kingdom. Garner said they had just been in Berlin but had some time to check out Basel that day.

The interview wasn’t that revealing and they just promoted the film, with Garner giving a very diplomatic response about the film being balanced in its portrayal of American politics. Host Thomas Gottschalk praised The Kingdom and said given the subject matter he was quite surprised how good it was. The best part of the show was when Foxx lost the challenge they were betting on and had to yodel for the crowd.

The bet was if a little girl could identify five of over 50 hard puppets by feeling them with her nose within a certain time period. It was weird, but most of the bets on that show are strange. The other three challenges of the night involved a farmer sinking balls into a basketball hoop using the upwards exhaust air from a tractor, a guy holding 10 bricks against a wall for 20 seconds using just his thumb, and a man throwing plungers on his friends’ naked backs.

The 12 year-old girl successfully identified the puppets and Garner won the bet, since she bet that the girl would be able to complete the task, saying she thought that girls should stick together. Foxx bet against the girl and since he lost he had to yodel. After Melissa Etheridge performed the host asked her if she would play the guitar to accompany Foxx’s yodeling. A yodeling clip was played for Foxx to emulate, and he danced along to it and was able to mimic it well. Foxx is an accomplished singer and he was a good sport. This cracked me up:

Jamie Foxx remained on the show until nearly the end, and joked with super hot boxing twins Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko, posing with them at one point. Garner left shortly after the yodeling, saying she had to get back to the states to film a movie with Kevin Kline. Along with Melissa Etheridge, musical guests included Avril Lavigne and Sunrise Avenue.

“Wetten Das?” is the most popular show in Europe and has been on the air since 1981.

Photos are screenshots available from the full length video on the ZDF website. The clip here is an excerpt from a longer video accessible from their site. Foxx is still rocking those clip-on earrings.

The Kingdom premiere with Jennifer Garner, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith

The stars were out for the premiere of the new terrorism-themed film The Kingdom in LA on Monday. Jennifer Garner looked stunning in a loose red dress with tiered layers. Jada Pinkett Smith’s outfit was a definite miss, though. She wore fuschia satin shorts paired with a matching jacket. She loves bright colors and looks great in simple dresses with shocking colors, but her look was just wrong. Her husband Will looked hot though in a quilted black leather jacket, shades and dark jeans.

I saw the trailer for this movie during one of my rare nights out when my husband and I went to see The Bourne Supremacy. It looks like a good intelligent thriller, and centers around FBI agents, played by Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Jason Bateman and Chris Cooper, trying to capture a lead terrorist after a civilian attack on the US. Watching the trailer gave me goosebumps and it hit too close to home for me as I lived right near NY when 9/11 happened. I’m not sure theater-goers are ready for that with the war still going on and touching so many people. (Not that there is any connection between the war and 9/11. It’s just that too many people have died recently through random acts of terrorism, and there’s a lot of that in this movie.) It looks like it provides the riveting story of the capture of a top terrorist, but I don’t think I would be able to watch it, even on DVD.

Here’s the trailer:

The Kingdom is getting decent reviews, and is said to be an action-packed film with a tight plot. It currently has a 60% aggregate critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The Kingdom is out in US theaters on September 28.

Shown at the premiere are Jennifer Garner, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, a hot-looking pregnant Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, Jeremy Piven looking beat, Amanda Peet, Jamie Foxx, Chris Cooper, and Jason Bateman. Thanks to PRPhotos for these pictures.

Jennifer Hudson just owns “Dreamgirls,” Beyonce is backup

Jennifer Hudson of “American Idol” fame is generating Oscar buzz with her amazing upcoming role in “Dreamgirls.” Beyonce plays a backup character in the film adaptation of the musical and is second fiddle to Hudson. Beyonce denied that there’s any rivalry between her and Hudson, but people are saying that her comments show otherwise. She told reporters that she wanted to play Hudson’s central role of Effie, of course, and wish she could of gained the 20 pounds required for for the role:

“I knew that the character that I played wasn’t the star,” Knowles, 25, told reporters on Saturday about knowing full well that her Diana Ross-esque role of Deena Jones was less meaty than Hudson’s part as Effie White – a part that is already getting Hudson Oscar buzz. “She wasn’t the underdog. She didn’t have the struggle and the pain and the dramatic scenes that Effie had, and I was fine with that.” Taking the role was about proving herself as an actress. “I’m already a star. I already have nine Grammys. Everyone knows I can sing,” Knowles said. “I did this because I wanted people to know that I can act and I can play someone so different from myself.” “Because I’m a star they just automatically assume that I’m not humble enough to sit down and take a back seat, which I am.” But the R&B star did admit that she would have liked to have sung Effie’s song, “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,” a showstopper that, in large part, helped get Jennifer Holliday a Tony Award for best actress for the original 1981 Broadway version of Dreamgirls. “I mean,” said Knowles, “I wish I could’ve gained 20 pounds and played Effie.” Asked if she’d really have packed on the weight for the part, Knowles said, “Yes. I absolutely would have, but Bill (Condon, the movie’s writer-director) didn’t even believe that I could be Deena. So imagine if I would’ve said, ‘Bill, I want to be Effie.’ “ And Knowles has high praise for Hudson’s portrayal of Effie. “Jennifer Hudson had such a pressure, first of all, never being in a film and never have done an album and still having to live up to those expectations,” said Knowles. “She did incredible.”

It does sound like Beyonce is calling Hudson fat, and is suggesting that Hudson got the role because she’s heavier. Hudson did actually gain 20 pounds for that film according to Wikipedia, so Beyonce might not have meant it as harshly as it came off.

Commentor kailie2 notes that Beyonce’s rumored wedding to Jay-Z next weekend may be her attempt to gain back the spotlight dominated by newcomer Hudson’s sheer talent.

That’s a pretty good theory considering how much praise and publicity Hudson is getting:

Hudson, taking over the role of Effie played on stage by Jennifer Holliday, is in charge of “Dreamgirls” from her opening scene, blowing away Grammy-winner Beyoncé Knowles, Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx and anyone else who gets in her way.

When she sings “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” – one of the most heartfelt cries of pain ever written for a musical – Hudson inscribes her name on an Oscar.

“Dreamgirls” is out in the states tomorrow, 12/6. Here’s the trailer:

Tom Cruise names Kanye West & Jamie Foxx uncles

Jamie Foxx took time off from his full schedule of sex to stop by MTV London studios while Tom Cruise was taping an interview to congratulate him on the birth of his baby daughter, Suri. Foxx delivered a pink crib full of Burberry baby accessories to the actor, and gushed about what a nice guy he is:

After giving Cruise a big pink crib full of toys, as well as man-hug and some warm baby congratulations, Foxx parked himself on the 1LSQ sofa and told host Russell Brand how he really feels about the Mission Impossible star. “I’ll tell you what’s amazing about Tom Cruise,” said Jamie in his hoodie and suit jacket combo, “I name Tom Cruise intangible, cos of things he does.

“For one he’s good looking, he’s charismatic, he has all the money in the world and he has a great career. And he’s still nice!”

Foxx went on: “You don’t see it normally, I’ve seen a lot of people do a whole lot less than Tom and they’ve got the 95 bodyguards and whatever, not this guy.”

Tom may not have 95 bodyguards, but he does have an armoured car now. He bought a $180,000 USD armoured vehicle after receiving death threats against him and Katie.

Tom Cruise has joked that he asked Jamie Foxx to be an uncle to Suri:

He said to the Mirror: “Jamie Foxx is going to be uncle. I asked him today and he’s accepted. He’s an amazing guy.”

“And when I get back to the States I’m gonna ask Kanye West.”

Tom’s kind of funny, and with all these feel-good stories it’s easy to warm up to the guy. I have to remind myself that he’s touring around Europe while his wife is stuck at home with a new baby and the Scientology freaks, though. Have her parents even come to visit her yet?

There are a few more Cruise stories that we’ll post with the pictures from the MI Paris premiere shortly.

Here is Cruise at the MTV London studios with Jamie Foxx and with his daughter, Isabella. [via] She looks like she really looks up to him. The poor girl.

Jamie Foxx slept with four women all at once last week

Jamie Foxx has a career as an R&B singer that we haven’t paid much attention to. At an RCA party celebrating his album last week in London, Foxx handpicked five hot women to stand next to the stage while he performed. After the show, he took four of the women into a “secret chamber” backstage with him. (One of the five the apparently had some dignity)

And after he got the screaming ladies eating out of his hand, he selected four – including an Italian and a South American – to escort him to his private lair backstage.

Beefy minders stood guard in front of the locked door to the opulent V-VIP room, which had four double beds covered with red velvet sheets, strewn with rose petals.

To complete the saucy setting, the secret chamber – filled with bottles of Cristal champagne – was lit with dodgy red lights.

For over an hour, no one was allowed to disturb the love-in and when we cheekily asked what was happening, a flunky replied: “What goes on in the boudoir, stays in the boudoir. When you’re Jamie Foxx on top of the world – you can get anything you want.

“Everywhere he goes he hand-picks the women he wants to get to know. He likes having women all over the place.”

During his show, Foxx skeeved everyone out when he pulled British rap star Estelle onto the stage and tried to make out with her:

The crowd, expecting a duet, were left cringing when he started slow-dancing with her and demanding kisses. He said: “Check out her lips. Kiss me, keep your lips there, mmmmmmm.”

Oh please. Later, Foxx and his crew headed to Pangaea where he struck out with Sugababe Keisha Buchanan. (She turned down K-Fed, too, so Foxx is in good company.) Instead of Buchanan, Foxx is said to have settled for some other gorgeous woman.

Foxx is 38, and he must be trying to make up for lost time. The guy is not super-handsome so he’s probably not used to getting ladies and is having his glut of them while he has a chance. I’m sorry, but anyone who has that much random sex at that age has a problem. Maybe a sex tape will come out to embarrass the guy and help him slow down.
