So now that it’s known that Jamie Lynn Spears is back with the father of her baby, Casey Aldridge, and that Britney is still with her longterm boyfriend, Jason Trawick, OK! is running with a creative cover claiming that Britney is trying to convince Jamie Lynn to throw a “lavish double wedding” with her. I had the chance to read the article, and the cover really isn’t misleading as far as what OK! claims inside. The title is a little off, “Inside Jamie Lynn & Britney’s Double Wedding,” but the description on the cover is accurate that the story is about Britney trying to convince Jamie Lynn to have a fairy tale double wedding. Supposedly Britney and Jamie Lynn were fantasizing about their dream weddings and possibly having them at the same time, and now Britney wants to make it a reality. It could all be b.s., of course, but I can imagine Britney wanting a huge wedding along with her sister. OK! also offers a lot of reasons why this would be useful for Britney in terms of revamping her image and career. They also claim that Britney’s beau Jason is ready to propose, which of course we’ve heard many times before. Here are some relevant quotes from the article:

According to an insider, Britney, 28, was half-joking about creating “a huge, over-the-top Hollywood affair” at first. But when the two couples went back to her Calabasas, Calif., home, the sisters couldn’t stop talking about it. “They were trying to top each other with crazy things they could do – like arrive in a horse-dram carriage,” says the insider. “Their kids… would be ring bearers and the flower girl…

“It’s to show how close she and Jamie Lynn are, and how much they are there for each other.

Britney’s boyfriend of more than a year, Jason, 38, liked the ideas, too. “Britney and Jason are on the verge of announcing an engagement,” says a source. “They’re both ready to make that commitment and know they want to spend the rest of their lives together…

“Jason said it would be bigger than a royal wedding, and Britney’s eyes lit up,” recalls the insider. “She loves the idea of being back on top, being respected and in the media for positive reasons. A Spears-girls double wedding would be a huge attention-getter. The media would be all over it. She’d probably sell the rights for millions and split it with Jamie. It could be very profitable for both of them…

The article doesn’t have much in the way of Jamie Lynn’s reunion with Casey, but we know that they’re tentatively back together, which seems to be confirmed by all the happy photos of them and their two year-old daughter, Maddie, on Casey’s Twitpic account. It’s not a bad idea for Britney and Jamie Lynn to have a double wedding, even if it it’s OK!’s idea and not their own. They would certainly make a lot of money on the photo rights, as OK! points out, and it would do wonders for both of their images and careers in the short term. There’s the pesky issue of getting married to those two guys they each have well documented problems with, including breakups and cheating allegations. It would be for the best if they tried to work on their individual relationships for a while before making them legal. This double wedding should remain a fantasy for the forseeable future.

Britney and Jason were photographed together on the beach in Hawaii recently. Whatever is going on with them, they’re maintaining some really awesome physiques.

We might soon be seeing more of Britney Spears’ little sister, Jamie Lynn. The National Enquirer reports this week that Jamie Lynn intends to move to LA from Mississippi to live with Britney. This would also allow the former Zoey 101 star to revive her acting career, which was put on hold when she fell pregnant at 16. (I love how the Brits say that, “fell pregnant,” like it was an accident.) According to The Enquirer, this was all their mom Lynne’s idea, who hopes that Jamie Lynn will soon be working again. (And bringing in those paychecks to pay for Grandma’s plastic surgery.) Lynne also hopes to keep Jamie Lynn away from both Casey and a guy that she’s been dating, a 28 year-old businessman, of whom Lynn doesn’t approve. Oh I’m sure the industry types in LA will be much better for Jamie Lynn.

Teen mom Jamie Lynn Spears is leaving her native Louisiana and moving in with her big sister Britney in Los Angeles, the Enquirer has learned.

The move is part of mom Lynne Spears’ plan to revive her 18-year-old daughter’s acting career and separate her from her new boyfriend James Watson, insiders say.
Jamie Lynn started dating the 28-year-old businessman last December, but her mom disapproves of their 10-year age difference, revealed a source.

“Lynne is very unhappy about Jamie Lynn’s relationship with James. She thinks he’s too old for Jamie Lynn and has nothing to offer her,” the source told The Enquirer. “Lynne wants to see her daughter get back into show business.”

So now Lynne is trying to control 18 year-old Jamie Lynn’s life. She admitted that she left a then 15 year-old Britney in the care of a friend and let her move to LA for her career. When Lynne was promoting her book, she also said that sshe thought Jamie Lynn was joking when she handed her a note that she was pregnant. Nothing was Lynne’s fault or responsibility and she reasoned that she couldn’t supervise Britney as a teen because she was teaching school and had two other children to care for. Now she wants to keep her 18 year-old daughter with a nearly two year old baby away from a guy because he’s ten years older than she is. Lynne thinks the best way to do that is to move Jamie Lynne to LA and back get her back in show business. What a piece of work this woman is. It’s good news at least for Britney as she’ll have her sister and niece with her. I wonder what’s next for Britney as she seems kind of lost when she’s not working.

In 2008, we heard plenty of stories about how Jamie Lynn Spears’ baby daddy and fiance, Casey Aldridge, was fooling around with other women behind her back. Multiple women spoke to the tabloids with stories about how Aldridge was wooing them while Spears was either pregnant with Aldridge’s baby or had just given birth to their daughter Maddie, now one and a half. Then there were the inevitable stories that Jamie Lynn had kicked Casey out and called off the wedding, followed by a cover story with Casey and Jamie Lynn in OK! titled “I’m No Cheater.” Both of them were just teens at the time, so it wasn’t surprising that Casey was fooling around.

Casey and Jamie Lynn seemed to reunite for a while, although there were stories last summer that they were calling off their engagement and breaking up. The last time they were spotted together was in November at a Broadway show in NY. It looks like Jamie Lynn has put all the drama behind her and has moved on, though. Star Magazine reports that Jamie Lynn, 18, is dating a 28 year-old businessman from nearby Louisiana. She currently lives in Mississippi with Maddie:

A source tells Star exclusively that Jamie Lynn, 18, has moved on to 28-year-old James Watson, a well-to-do Louisiana businessman.

“They first met nearly a year ago, and their friendship turned to romance as they grew closer,” said the source. “They started dating last December. I don’t think James cares at all about who she is; they really seem to like each other.”

James owns a company called Advanced Multimedia Partners. “He installs communication equipment and high-definition TVs for large corporations,” the source tells Star. “James enjoys making money – and he enjoys spending it too. He’s always throwing money around at the bars, buying drinks for everyone.”

But you won’t find Jamie Lynn in James’ company at the local watering holes, says the source. “They try to keep their distance when they’re out in public.” But they’re joined at the hip whenever they go to their buddies’ house parties in Hammond or in her hometown of Kentwood.

Star goes on to say that Jamie Lynn is thinking about moving to LA to restart her acting career. She starred on Nickelodeon show Zoey 101 before her much-publicized teen pregnancy. Apart from doing the rounds to show off her cute baby, we haven’t heard much from Jamie Lynn. There was news that she was planning a country music career but not much seems to have come of that. I tend to think that she’s happy to live a low key life in Mississippi and isn’t about to re-enter the spotlight. We’ll see, though.

UPDATE BY KAISER: Us Weekly is now confirming that Jamie-Lynn and Casey have broken up. They don’t have a confirmation of it from JLS’s rep or anything, they’re just reporting it as “confirmed”.

I haven’t seen Bruno yet, but I think I’ve got one of the situations down: Bruno “interviews” random semi-famous people and gets them to say really embarrassing stuff. Brittny Gastineau was one of those random semi-famous people! Brittny is best known for… uh… that show “Gastineau Girls” and …uh… yeah. That’s about it. So Brittny is in Bruno, participating in one of the embarrassing interviews. Bruno shows Brittny photos of celebrity babies and asks her for a designation of “keep” or “abort”. Sounds hilarious…? When Bruno got to a photo of Jamie Lynn Spears’ baby Maddie. Brittny declared Maddie to be an “abort”. And now Brittny has taken her “just joking” defense to Page Six:

BRITTNY Gastineau doesn’t really think Jamie Lynn Spears should have had an abortion instead of giving birth to now 1-year-old daughter Maddie Briann.

One scene in “Bruno” features Sacha Baron Cohen (as a flamboyant Austrian fashion reporter) showing photos of celebrity babies, and asking the reality starlet if she would “keep” or “abort” them. When shown a sonogram of what Bruno claims was Spears’ unborn fetus, Gastineau cheerfully decrees, “Abort it!”

“It’s a joke,” Gastineau assured us. “It’s crazy how serious some people can get.”

She said, “The whole time I was talking in this high, jokey voice, and I was just kidding along with it.”

“Everyone who follows me on Twitter has said that they know I was joking. I think [Cohen] is one of the funniest people alive, so when I got there, I decided just to spoof myself and be a dumb idiot.”

Gastineau admits that she didn’t realize Cohen was going to interview her before she arrived. “I was approached through a manager of mine. ‘Gastineau Girls’ was aired in 54 countries, and I thought I was doing a promotional interview for a German TV show,” said the daughter of legendary Jets lineman Mark Gastineau.

“When I got there . . . I knew something was up,” she recalled. “They wouldn’t let my makeup artist come in . . . Then, when I saw him, I was like, ‘Oh, my God, OK.’ Because I recognized the character but I couldn’t place it. I just went along with it.”

As for the rest of the film, Gastineau told us, “I overall thought it was great. I laughed my ass off — I was crying I laughed so hard.”

Although several people who appeared in Cohen’s first movie, “Borat,” sued claiming he had misrepresented himself and ruined their lives by humiliating them and depicting them as bigots, only one has sued over “Bruno,” claiming emotional distress.

Sacha Baron Cohen gets so many people to say crazy stuff, it’s kind of no longer shocking. Considering this interview from Page Six is the first I’ve heard of the Brittny Gastineau scene, I suspect this is far from the most shocking content in the film. I also suspect that it’s one of those situations D-List celebrities find themselves in – they do something weird or gross or shocking, and when nobody notices or cares, they talk about it in a half-assed apology or explanation, trying to get some kind of press out of it. Meh. Abort.

In Touch is claiming that Jamie Lynn Spears has broken off her engagement. They’re not always the most accurate source, but this is one story that I’m really crossing my fingers on. They claim that Jamie Lynn realized she isn’t ready to get married. She hasn’t broken up with Casey Aldridge, but she has given back the engagement ring he gave her on her 17th birthday.

Britney Spears’ younger sister Jamie Lynn has called off her engagement to boyfriend Casey Aldridge after deciding she is too young to marry.

The 18-year-old actress accepted Aldridge’s proposal early last year when she was pregnant with their daughter, Maddie Briann.

However, according to In Touch Weekly magazine, the Zoey 101 star has changed her mind about marrying her teenage sweetheart and is happy just being boyfriend and girlfriend. The younger Spears has even returned her diamond engagement ring to Aldridge.

A close pal tells the publication, “Casey proposed when Jamie turned 17. He gave her a gold band with numerous diamonds and one larger stone, but now she has given it back to him.”

“Jamie wasn’t ready to get married. It’s been more than enough for her to adjust to new motherhood for now.”

Obviously one response to Jamie Lynn not being ready to get married was that she probably wasn’t ready to have a baby either. But she handled that situation gracefully and has been living a very private life for the last year. By about 75% of the reports, Casey Aldridge was no prize. I can’t imagine how any marriage at Jamie Lynn’s age could last in the long run. I know sometimes they do, but I wouldn’t be betting on this one in particular.

Jamie Lynn and Casey are definitely still together though. TMZ has photographs of them taking Maddie out for pizza yesterday – with Casey smoking a cigarette right next to the baby. Hopefully a breakup announcement will be coming in 3…2…1…

Casey Aldridge, boyfriend of former “Zoey 101″ star Jamie Lynn Spears, is in stable condition after a serious car accident over the weekend. Aldridge, the 19-year-old father of Jamie Lynn’s baby daughter Maddie, was driving home at 1:30 a.m. when he wrecked his truck, cracking his skull in the process. He was also charged with the misdemeanor of careless operation of a vehicle.

We’ve learned Casey Aldridge was charged with careless operation of a motor vehicle (a misdemeanor) after this morning’s crash — and no other car was involved.

Cops tell TMZ Casey was driving on the LA 606, which is in the Tensas Parish in Louisiana, when he lost control of his F-250 at around 1:30 AM. Law enforcement sources say Casey was initially taken to the Riverland Medical Facility in Ferriday, LA — which is right across the border from Mississippi.

19-year-old Casey is currently at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS.

UPDATE: Cops tell us there were three other passengers in the truck with Casey — but Casey’s injuries were the most serious.

People is reporting that Jamie Lynn is at the hospital with Casey, but the hospital is not giving any more information on his injuries.

Casey Aldridge, the father of Jamie Lynn Spears’s 10-month-old daughter Maddie, was injured in a car accident early Sunday morning. Police have charged him with careless operation of a vehicle, which is a misdemeanor.

Spears, 18, and Aldridge’s sister are at Casey’s side where he is hospitalized at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, according to sources. Staff at the hospital would not confirm Aldridge is undergoing treatment there.

A family source tells PEOPLE Aldridge has “a cracked skull” and has been ” in and out” of consciousness. However, the source says: “It’s not as serious as we thought at first.”

Aldridge, 19, was driving a 2008 Ford F-250 pickup when the wreck occurred at 1:30 a.m. Sunday near Lake Bruin in Tensas Parish, La., Master Trooper Billy Ziegler of Louisiana State Police tells PEOPLE. The accident happened in a stretch of road described as an entry and exit for Lake Bruin, a recreational lake that is a popular spot to fish.

After the accident, Aldridge was taken by ambulance to Riverland Medical Center in Vidalia, La., police say. There is no indication that he was tested for drug or alcohol usage.

A source tells PEOPLE that Aldridge was attending a bachelor party for his cousin, when he and some friends decided to go crabbing. He was driving his truck with several passengers when it went off the shoulder of the road and flipped over, adds the source.

As for Spears, another source tells PEOPLE: “This must be just horrible for Jamie Lynn. I know she loves him.”

A speedy recovery to Casey – but it sounds like even if his injuries aren’t as serious as first thought, his troubles are not quite over. It does sound like there was no alcohol involved at first report – he was charged with careless operation and not DUI. Thank goodness no one was critically injured.

Jamie Lynn Spears and her babydaddy/fiance Casey Aldridge are still together, despite reports to the contrary, and traveling with Britney’s Circus tour. OK! reports that they are the picture of loving devoted parents – but don’t expect them to get married anytime soon. Jamie Lynn has canceled the wedding, as she feels ‘no need for a ring and a piece of paper’.

While Casey tenderly held their 9-month-old daughter, Maddie Briann, Jamie Lynn loaded her diaper bags, toys and pink stroller into the minivan. Then the family took off on the four-hour drive back to their Mississippi home.

The young unmarried couple looked as connected as could be on their trip to cheer on Britney at her first show. But now Jamie Lynn – who was 16 when she shocked the world by telling OK! in December 2007 that she was expecting a child with her 18-year-old boyfriend – has decided not to walk down the aisle with him.

“The wedding’s off,” a source reveals to OK!. “They are still in love, living together and very happy, but they have no plans to get married. Jamie Lynn has everything she wants and feels no need for a ring and piece of paper.”

Adds another insider, “She and Casey have weathered a lot in their young relationship already and don’t need the pressure of making wedding plans.”

It was reported in January by In Touch that Jamie Lynn was rushing forward with her nuptials, picking out a dress, invitations and cake (although not a date). Maybe motherhood has shown Jamie Lynn that she and Casey are bonded together for life and don’t need to make it official.

Jamie Lynn is supposedly planning a country music album, and while she doesn’t have an album deal yet, perhaps she’s using her wedding as a business decision, planning on getting married close to when she releases her album. Or maybe she and Casey just aren’t getting along and she realizes it wouldn’t be a good idea to get married at this point.

According to E! Online, teen mother and former Disney star Jamie Lynn Spears is planning a career as a country singer and has been working on an album for months. This is despite the fact that Jamie Lynn, 17, has almost no professional signing experience. E! notes that Jamie Lynn has mentioned in the past that she’d like to pursue a singing career so perhaps she’s secretly talented or just thinks she is:

The younger Spears, who took leave of a burgeoning Hollywood career to relocate to Mississippi to raise daughter Maddie, “has been quietly working on a country album since last fall,” says a source close to the family.

Although Jamie Lynn’s only musical credit to date is warbling the theme song to her defunct Nickelodeon series, Zoey 101 (a tune cowritten by her more pedigreed big sister), that hasn’t stopped Team Spears from “trying to get Jamie Lynn a record deal,” says another insider.

The 17-year-old Spears recently recorded demo tracks in Nashville but has yet to land a label.

Still, the sessions mark the first attempt for Spears to get back into the entertainment game since she and fiancé Casey Aldridge welcomed Maddie last June.

While the Spears family declined to comment on Jamie Lynn’s new venture, she did tell the Associated Press in 2002 that crooning was in her future.

“I’ll probably do a lot of acting first, then go to singing,” she said, “but I am going to definitely sing someday. So when I do start singing, buy my album!”

Jamie Lynn has a lot of a options open to her still and if she’s able to sing at least partially well, someone will give her the chance. She definitely has name recognition factor and her album might sell based on that alone. We still don’t know if she can actually sing, but her bigger sister doesn’t have an incredible voice and gets by with lip synced performances and studio magic. Those kind of tricks don’t seem to work across all genres, and country may require some more authentic talent. Hopefully she has the chops for it although I doubt it.

Lynne Spears’ book, Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World, wasn’t the tell-all that many were hoping for, and it wasn’t as much of a success as was expected, either. The book may get a boost from Lynne’s plan to make it into a movie. Britney’s mom is said to be working to bring the book to the big screen:

Lynne Spears’ highly-anticipated book “Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World” may not have been the huge hit she was hoping for, however that apparently hasn’t stopped the high-profile mama from shopping it around for a film deal.

According to an inside source, Lynne has busily been exploring options to have the personal recount of her family’s life in the limelight slam onto the screen. Although we’re told that after Britney decided to launch her career comeback mama Spears stopped doing press for the publication to avoid any potential problems that may cause the songstress a setback. In fact we’re told by a source close to the Spears family that she has pretty much avoided contact with the book’s Christian publishers, Thomas Nelson, altogether over recent months in order to lay low.

The impression I got from Lynne Spears while she was doing press for the book is that she refused to take responsibility for her daughters at all, and just kind of claimed that everything happened without warning and she dealt with it as best as she could. Many reviewers on Amazon have a similar opinion of her book, although some say that it was a fun read and they came away with a better understanding of Lynne and everything her family went through. (It’s worth noting that the publisher sent 200 copies of the book to Christian bloggers, which seems to have skewed the reviews in a positive direction.)

It’s hard to tell if Lynne will be successful having the book made into a movie during these tough economic times. People are interested in Britney and teen mother Jamie Lynn, and it’s a compelling true life tale that a large portion of America is familiar with. She may very well get the film deal she’s seeking, although it seems more suited to a melodramatic movie of the week than a feature length film.

According to In Touch, Jamie Lynn Spears is going to marry her fiance, Casey Aldridge, and has picked out her gown and cake and even ordered the invitations. Earlier reports had Jamie Lynn kicking Casey out of their shared home and calling off the wedding after cheating allegations surfaced in the tabloids, which they denied. There were enough women who came forward to make it seem like Casey was fooling around, although the accusers could have been motivated by cash. It’s also hard to judge if this story about an imminent wedding is true as we often hear these type of wedding reports about celebrities and they turn out to be fabricated or premature:

It sounds kind of foolish to want to get married at 17 to keep a family together as a baby will bind Casey and Jamie Lynn for the rest of their lives whether they take that extra step or not. Getting married involves a lot of shared responsibilities and is a lifelong commitment that it doesn’t seem like they’re prepared for at such a young age. We’ll have to see if Jamie Lynn and Casey do make it official. If it happens for them, we’ll probably see the photos in OK! along with a syrupy sweet story about how wonderful and special their big day was.
