In September there was a mild controversy over an incident in which cops used a young attractive woman in sunglasses who was departing the same plane as Jamie Lynn Spears to divert paparazzi away from the star. Jamie Lynn Spears and her newborn baby Maddie left the airport from the tarmac while the other woman was used as a decoy. There was an internal investigation at the LAX police department afterwards as cops had acted out of order by providing special services for a celebrity.

The woman who served as the fake Jamie Lynn Spears is demanding a $2 million settlement from the LAX police department under threats that she’ll sue. Adessa Eskridge says through her lawyer that she was whisked away by police once she got off the plane and had no idea what was going on. She was then surrounded by paparazzi and had her face plastered all over the news and the Internet. Eskridge claims that her privacy was also invaded as her name, phone number and address were leaked to some reporters who actually contacted her. She likens it to a false arrest and claims she suffered “great humiliation” after the “demeaning and traumatic ordeal.” She’s willing to deal with it though, if the LAX police department coughs up $2 million for her pain and suffering:

I represent Adessa Eskridge… On September 10, 2008 by client was singled out by the LAX police to be part of a ruse to protect Jamie Lynn Spears. We are not yet aware of whether or not Ms. Spears or her agents were involved in the ruse. Our client was not given any details as to the nature of the task or of the potential danger involved. She simple followed the instructions of the police as most good citizens would do.

Ms. Eskridge had no idea and was never informed that upon deplaning, she would be mobbed by the paparazzi, that she would be in fear of her well-being, that her picture would be taken, that video of her would be all over the world wide web as well as being played and replayed on TMZ…

She was deceived and manipulated by the LAX-PD and suffered and continues to suffer great humiliation. Since this demeaning and traumatic ordeal ensured, our cilent’s name and identity, phone number and home address has been leaked to some media outlets. She has been contacted by members of the media demanding an explanation of her “role” in the ruse and her connection with the Spears family, among other things…

Our client intends to file a lawsuit if this matter is not resolved satisfactorily. At this time, she is willing to consider a reasonable and fair settlement that fully compensates her for the humiliation, fear and harassment that she has been subjected [sic] at the hands of LAX-PD. It is demanded that LAX-PD pay the sum of $2,000,000.

I understand that sometimes the only way to get things done in the US is to threaten to sue, but $2 million is hardly “reasonable and fair.” Maybe they set the figure high and are hoping for six figures at least. Cops shouldn’t have grabbed this woman without her consent and it was wrong that they forced her to go through this scenario without telling her what was going on. It was blip on the media radar though and surely this woman is making her brief exposure to the public worse by suing. Maybe she’ll get some cash out of it though and won’t have to work for a while.

Britney Spears’ 31 year-old brother, Bryan Spears, is getting married soon – to Jamie Lynn’s manager. The two plan to tie the knot sometime this holiday:

Britney Spears’s big brother, Bryan Spears, 31, is newly engaged to Graciella Sanchez, 36, and the pair plan to wed soon – possibly over the New Year’s holiday, sources tell People.

The couple have been acquaintances for years, but only recently started dating seriously. Sanchez is the manager for Bryan’s little sister Jamie Lynn.

A Yale graduate, Sanchez helped found One Talent Management, where she still works. Bryan Spears is a producer with credits including Jamie Lynn’s star-making vehicle Zoey 101.

Britney, 27, who flew to Louisiana on Sunday with her two sons Jayden James, 3, and Preston, 2, is expected to attend the nuptials.

There are some warning bells here. The couple is ‘newly engaged’ and haven’t been dating for long, despite a long time ‘acquaintance’. Are they headed for another Hollywood divorce? Also, Jamie Lynn’s career is sort of on hiatus at the moment due to motherhood. Is there going to be some sort of fallout with her manager/sister-in-law if she stages a comeback and isn’t as successful as her older sister Britney?

Bryan has been working with Jamie Spears to help with Britney’s rehabilitation, and was recently awarded $200,000 for services. He was also a producer on Jamie Lynn’s Zoey 101 show.

Congratulations to Bryan and Graciella – maybe the reason for the quickie wedding is to keep the media away, or maybe they’re expecting.

One of the best and worst parts of the internet is that just about anyone can share their thoughts on it. Our friends over at Celebslam had an interesting exchange with a girl named Diane who claims to be one of Jamie Lynn Spears’ best friends – and it seems like they believe her. Diane claims that Jamie Lynn is definitely not pregnant again, and that only ugly people aren’t having sex by sixteen.

After posting a story about a family insider “confirming” Jamie Lynn Spears’ second pregnancy, “Diane” — the friend pictured with Jamie Lynn at Wal-Mart last week — commented on the story. Diane claims that Jamie Lynn is not pregnant with her second child:

I am the friend with Jamie in these pictures and I was also the friend in the pictures that said we were leaving the crisis pregnancy center several months ago (Ed. Note: the pics she’s referring to are here) (when in all actuality we were leaving her OB-GYN who happens to have a sign in front of the office supporting the crisis pregnancy center). Jamie Lynn is NOT pregnant and I wish everyone would stop being so judgemental because if you weren’t having sex at 16 it probabaly means you were very unattractive. She just happened to get pregnant and then did the right thing by not having an abortion. She is an exceptional mother and she loves that baby with every fiber of her being. As the paprazzi chased us through the store as we humbly tried to buy groceries for our families, she was not one bit worried about them getting pictures of her or what anyone would say about her, but she did not want them to exploit her child anymore than they already have. This girl has been through enough. Please show a little compassion and back off. There was nothing exciting about our trip to wal mart, yet we were followed the entire time by 3 photographers. Stop supporting these idiots and make them get real jobs. Before you judge anyone else, I beg you to please try to imagine yourself in their situation.

Well there were certainly enough typos and spelling mistakes to believe it came from a young girl. Celebslam also has a longer exchange with her where she comes off as pretty believable. Not too smart, not too dumb. It’s got to be tough raising a baby at Jamie Lynn’s age, and tougher still to do it under such scrutiny. If this girl is who she says she is, it sounds like Jamie Lynn has some friends that are willing to really stand up for her, and that’s good. Though she’d probably prefer everyone just kept their mouths shut.

Frankly I’m more likely to believe this person than the “unnamed relative” who swears up and down that Jamie Lynn really does have another bun in the oven. Obviously it could be a lie, but at least this girl said, “Here’s who I am, here’s where you’ve seen me.” Unlike the vague relative. Unfortunately this is one of those things where only time will tell.

The National Enquirer is running a follow-up story about 17 year-old Jamie Lynn Spears’ alleged second pregnancy. Despite denials straight from Spears and her camp, The Enquirer is standing firm with the story they broke last week that she fell pregnant with her second child less than three months after having her first.

According to sources quoted in the Enquirer, Jamie Lynn’s 19 year-old maybe ex-fiance told her he didn’t want the baby and was upset that she got pregnant. It also incensed the young dad that he had to read about it at the grocery store first as she had yet to tell him. And how is this for ironic justice – Lynne Spears, Jamie’s mom, found out that her daughter was pregnant yet again when she was out hawking her tell-all book:

“After he read about Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy in The Enquirer, Casey told her, ‘You can’t have this baby!’ He was so angry that he threatened to leave her for good,” revealed a source close to the Spears family.

“He never planned to have another baby with Jamie Lynn so soon, and he told her that if she couldn’t tell him something so important, than he didn’t want to be with her anymore.

And now we’ve learned that Jamie Lynn told her mom the news while Lynne was out promoting her book “Through the Storm.”

“Jamie Lynn and her mom were on the phone fighting about her getting back with Casey. Lynne shouted that Casey had humiliated her and cheated on her with girls she knows right under her nose,” said the insider.

“That’s when Jamie Lynn blurted out, ‘I’m having another baby! I will be with Casey forever. We’re a family.”

Shocked, Lynne ordered Jamie Lynn not to tell a soul, even Casey, said the source.

“Then Lynne read Jamie Lynn the riot act about how stupid it was for her to get pregnant again, and Jamie Lynn accused her mom of trying to ruin her relationship with Casey,” said the source.

“But Lynne things Casey got Jamie Lynn pregnant on purpose because he sees her as his meal ticket. Now Lynne is desperately trying to talk Jamie Lynn out of having this baby,” said the source.

Meanwhile, Casey is seething that Lynne advised Jamie Lynn to keep the pregnancy from him, insiders say.

“Casey believes he should have been told about the pregnancy right away. He says he’s tired of Jamie Lynn letting Lynne control her life…

“Now, he and Lynne are openly talking about how much they hate each other.”

Jamie Lynn was spotted out without engagement ring, so whether she’s pregnant or not it does seem like there’s truth to the breakup and cheating rumors. The two are back together for now, though, reports the Enquirer. I trust the National Enquirer above the other tabloids due to their solid record of breaking stories that end up being true. MSat keeps reminding me that the NE was the first to come out with the news of Jamie Lynn’s first pregnancy. They may very well have a source close to Jamie Lynn and Casey, and they had a lot of insider information about Casey’s cheating.

They call the source “a family friend,” and last week they say that a “family member” confirmed the news. Britney and Jamie Lynn do have an aunt who has spoken to the press in the past and there are probably more relatives out there, like her weird uncle, who would spill details to the tabloids for cash. All that said, it’s possible their source has incorrect information or is lying for their own purposes. The only way we’ll know for sure is to wait and see if Jamie Lynn starts to show again. If this was true and she followed her mother’s advice we may never know.

The NE reports that “she seems determined to stand up against pressure to have the baby” and say that she is convinced it’s a little boy and has even confirmed the pregnancy with a doctor. She also sadly seems to think that another child will help heal her tenuous relationship with Casey, especially if she has a boy. Despite all the ways that Jamie Lynn seems more mature than her older sister, if this is true she sure seems to be repeating a lot of her mistakes.

Jamie Lynn Spears is in all sorts of hot water again, though whether or not she deserves to be is highly debatable. According to the National Enquirer in a follow-up to their story last week, Spears definitely is pregnant again, despite the family’s denials. The magazine says they got the information from a Spears family member who isn’t backing down from his/her claims. However they also haven’t named the person, so it’s still hard to say. It’s certainly not impossible, but it seems to early to rush to judgment yet.

Despite anonymous public denials, a Spears family member has come forward and confirmed that 17-year-old Jamie Lynn IS pregnant again! What’s more, The NATIONAL ENQUIRER has learned that Casey Aldridge, the baby’s father, erupted in anger when he found out. Jamie Lynn had been keeping the pregnancy secret and Casey learned about it through media reports after The ENQUIRER broke the story earlier this week.

Now, a close family member has revealed exclusively that the Spears family is in an uproar and Jamie Lynn is being pressured to abort the baby. The anonymous public denials of Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy, says the family member, are simply buying the Spears family time until they decide what to do.

“Jamie Lynn’s mom is furious about the pregnancy,” the family member told an ENQUIRER source. “And she’s livid the news leaked out, especially during her book tour. Lynne doesn’t want to talk about it publicly until they sort this out. Jamie Lynn is being pressured by people very close to her to abort. But no decision has been made yet. Casey is furious. Jamie Lynn hadn’t told him about the pregnancy. He learned about it in the media and then confronted her and she told him it was true. Lynne and Jamie Lynn have been arguing nonstop by phone.”

The National Enquirer is clearly sticking to their story. A lot of people haven’t noticed the gradual change, but they are actually pretty accurate in terms of celebrity news. It’s not like Star where it’s safest to assume 98% of the story is fabricated. Like I said it’s definitely too soon to even make an educated guess, but it’s pretty obvious that the Spears’ family rebuttals aren’t holding a lot of weight.

This morning when the news came out that Jamie Lynn Spears, 17, was pregnant with her second child less than four months after having her first a lot of people were willing to believe it, including us. In fact I’m still not convinced that there wasn’t some truth to it – like maybe she had a pregnancy scare or something. Her sister Britney had her second child just about a year after her first, so that kind of fertility seems to run in her family and you could easily imagine the same thing happening to Jamie Lynn.

It’s not true, though, according to TMZ and OK!. There’s a cover story on OK! this week featuring Jamie Lynn and her fiance, Casey Aldridge, in which they respond to the multiple infidelity rumors about Casey. The accompanying teaser article about how well they’re doing isn’t that convincing, though, and neither is OK!’s denial of the pregnancy. They just say Jamie Lynn told them she wasn’t pregnant and dismiss it as gossip. TMZ claims they have it from an “unimpeachable source” that she isn’t. Does that mean that her rep told them off the record that she’s not?

It doesn’t seem likely that Jamie Lynn would get in the family way again so soon after having her first, but the story originated in the National Enquirer and they’re usually right about those big stories even if people like to dismiss them at first. They may have had it wrong, though, and it could have been just a scare or a rumor. It’s for the best if Jamie Lynn really isn’t pregnant again. Two children in about a year is too much for any teen to handle.

Just like her sister Britney, who had her second baby about a year after her first, The National Enquirer reports that Jamie Lynn Spears, 17, is knocked up again. Her daughter Maddie is only three and a half months old and Jamie Lynn is said to be 8 weeks along. MSat just reported that both Jamie Lynn and Casey went to OK! Magazine to deny that they’re having trouble after multiple reports that he cheated on her throughout their relationship. Maybe they have some pretty compelling motivation to set the record straight if they’re expecting another baby:

In a blockbuster world exclusive, The ENQUIRER has learned that the 17-year-old Zoey 101 starlet is now expecting for the second time – a mere three months after giving birth on June 19 to baby Maddie Briann.

Jamie’s desperate to keep the shock ing news secret and some people close to her are urging Jamie Lynn to consider ending the pregnancy, sources say.

“Jamie Lynn is about eight weeks pregnant, and she and her mom Lynne are hysterical,” revealed a close source. “Neither of them knows what to do, but for now they’re trying to keep the news from getting out.”

Too late.

The unplanned pregnancy came as a shock to Jamie Lynn, who’d been breast-feeding her infant daughter Maddie Briann, insiders say.

“Jamie Lynn believed she couldn’t get pregnant while she was breast-feeding,” said the close source. “She’d expected to have her period by early September.” A home pregnancy test came back positive and Jamie Lynn cried her eyes out, said the source.

Her mother Lynne was livid when she found out, divulged an insider.

Meanwhile, insiders say that those close to Jamie Lynn are urging her to abort!

“They’ve reminded Jamie Lynn how much trouble she had adjusting to motherhood with Maddie, and pointed out that having a second baby now would only be a recipe for disaster,” said the close source.

The National Enquirer has a solid record of getting scoops and I bet they have some pretty good sources to back up this story. They broke the John Edwards cheating story months before the rest of the press picked it up. This news is too much of a jaw-dropper to run without fact checking and they probably have it on good authority.

Many women who breastfeed end up pregnant again if they don’t take precautions, and it looks like Jamie Lynn could be headed down that route too. Some praised her for keeping baby Maddie and taking responsibility for her actions, but two in a row just seems careless at her age. If she indeed is pregnant again and has another one, she certainly has the resources to care for the baby. Does she have the wherewithal to cope with two young children though? It proved too much for her older sister to handle.

Update: Jamie Lynn told OK! she wasn’t pregnant, and TMZ quotes a source who also claims she’s not pregnant.

Lynne Spears has been making the rounds promoting her new sorta tell-all book, “Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World,” and she actually has made a few good points in recent interviews. Lynne’s pointed out some of the hypocrisy in dealing with the media and discussed some of the challenges the Spears family has had to face with them.

For example, Jamie Lynn got a ton of heat for getting pregnant at 16. Yet Lynne claims that Sarah Palin has been “celebrated” for her daughter Bristol’s teenage pregnancy.

Newsweek: You and Jamie Lynn got some negative press when she got pregnant so young. But more recently, 17-year-old Bristol Palin, and her mother, Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential candidate, found themselves in a similar situation. And the public reaction has been different.

Lynne Spears: It’s a totally different reaction. It’s as if [Sarah Palin] became celebrated. I mean, the mother, Palin, was celebrated for this. Every woman in the world has applauded her strength and her convictions and poor little old Jamie Lynn—you saw how she was crucified. Everybody did, firsthand … I just feel like it’s been a very hypocritical situation.

One important distinction is that the pregnant teenager in the Palin family is the daughter of someone who’s a public figure; whereas the pregnant teenager in the Spears family IS a public figure. Bristol Palin has a bit more of an expectation of privacy since she’s only famous because of her mom’s choices; Jaime Lynn is famous because of her family but is also an actress and a celebrity. So Palin’s pregnancy isn’t scrutinized in the same way Spears’ was. But I do see Lynne Spears’ point.

I think a big part of it was that Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy came first, so she took the brunt of the media attention. More of the hypothetical questions about what role teenage pregnancy plays in our larger society were leveled at Jamie Lynn and had already been debated to death by the time Bristol Palin became pregnant.

Lynn also complains to Newsweek that women are having babies when they’re too old and should have them in their twenties. I was willing to empathize with the previous complaint, but don’t really care for this one.

Newsweek:What’s it like to hear so many people trying to figure out what role your daughter’s pregnancy plays in society?

Lynne Spears: If you look back in history … We’re [in] a much more technical age, much more educated in some ways. But I think our generation is having babies so old … I think 20s, that’s a good age … [when women get older] their bodies are tearing down. When they start having babies it makes it so much more difficult and then they can’t get pregnant, because all the stuff is kinda set in … I don’t think people are looking at it that way. I think your 20s is a good time to have babies…

That’s funny, because I think thirties is a good time to have babies. Maybe your body is “tearing down” but you probably also know better than to drive with your baby on your lap and a few other notoriously stupid decisions a famous mother in her twenties has made. I’m pretty sure Lynne has heard of her (cough Britney). This comment only bugged me as much as it did because Lynne makes a point of saying that she wouldn’t tell anybody else how to parent. But apparently telling them when to parent is fine.

TMZ has an exclusive that law enforcement officials near Jamie Lynn’s hometown of Liberty, Mississippi are looking for the person who is trying to sell personal photos of Jamie Lynn Spears, her boyfriend Casey Aldridge, and her famous sister Britney. Casey Aldridge brought about 12 pictures on a digital camera card to Walmart to get developed. They contained some semi-personal shots and it looks like someone in the photo department got the idea to cash in. One of the photos shows Jamie Lynn’s breast exposed as she nurses her three month old baby, Maddie. Jamie Lynn is still a minor and the person trying to sell the photos could be charged with a federal crime for trying to sell pornography out of state.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ federal and local authorities are on the hunt for someone peddling 12 pics of Britney Spears, Jamie Lynn, daughter Maddie and baby daddy Casey Aldridge. One of the pictures shows Jamie Lynn breast feeding Maddie — Jamie Lynn’s left breast is exposed.

The pics were taken on Casey’s digital camera. We’re told he took the camera card to his local Wal-Mart in Louisiana for copies. Law enforcement believes someone at the Wal-Mart may have made extra copies, then tried selling them.

Because Jamie Lynn is a minor, selling the pics — or buying them — could constitute a violation of federal laws prohibiting pornography. Peddling pictures of a minor’s breast — even if not taken for sexual purposes — could land the seller and the buyer in federal prison if they are marketed across state lines for the purpose of being lurid. Also, anyone purchasing the pics could be prosecuted for the crime of receiving stolen property.

Other pics in the set include Britney holding the baby and one of Jamie Lynn, Britney, Brian (Brit’s bro), Lynne Spears and Jamie Spears around Jamie Lynn’s hospital bed. There are also pics of Maddie by herself, and there’s a picture of Jamie Lynn in a negligee holding the baby.

The person who is looking to sell the photos probably thought their ship had come in and they could make a quick few thousand off the photos and maybe quit working at Walmart. Instead they’re facing federal charges, and while it probably won’t come to that it’s going to be a hard lesson to learn.

Maybe this means that everything is fine between Jamie Lynn and Casey and that they’re not estranged as was rumored. They’re possibly older photos, though, because Britney did visit for a day after her niece was born and they may have been taken at that point. Casey could just be hoping to preserve the memories of his shattered relationship.

Things sure seem to be getting tense between Casey Aldridge and the entire Spears clan. According to both The National Enquirer and In Touch, Casey was very specifically not invited to Sean Preston and Jayden James’ recent joint birthday parties. The reason? Things have been pretty bad between Casey and Jamie Lynn since she found out he cheated on him. Since she kicked him out the two haven’t seen much of each other – but when Casey found out Jamie Lynn was taking daughter Maddie to L.A. for the birthday party, he went ballistic.

He threatened to sue Jamie Lynn and mom Lynne Spears for $5 million, but said he’d forget the whole thing if she’d just get back together with him. Sounds like a great building block for a healthy relationship.

The former day laborer… claims she [Jamie Lynn] promised to take care of him for life, and he wants her to make good on the pledge, sources say. “Casey says Jamie Lynn promised him that he wouldn’t have to worry about working after their baby was born, and now Lynne is afraid that he’ll fight for custody of the baby,” a source revealed.

And when Jamie Lynn flew to Los Angeles with Maddie and her mother to celebrate the birthdays of her big sis Britney’s boys – Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2 – on Sept. 13, Casey exploded, insiders say. Right before the trip, “Casey told Jamie Lynn that she was crazy if she thought he’d allow his daughter near Britney when she isn’t even allowed to look after her own children,” said the insider.

“Casey reminded Jaime Lynn that before Maddie was born, she assured him that he’d be ‘financially set’ for the rest of his life after they moved in together,” says the source. “Casey told her that he wants at least $5 million. He figures that’s his cut of what the Spears family will make from selling photos and home videos of Maddie over the years.”

Despite the tough talk, the strapping teenager said he’d forget about the money if Jamie Lynn would just reunite with him, said the source.

That’s really a sign of maturity, level headed thinking, and good parenting right there. “Get back together with me or I will sue you for millions of dollars.” I’m pretty sure that’s the trifecta, and how you know you’re really supposed to be with someone for the rest of your life. Why the hell didn’t Casey just get down on one knee?

What a moron. I have no idea what in the world makes him think he’d get $5 million. Best case scenario, I’d think maybe he could get a percentage of any pictures or videos the Spears family sells of Maddie. But it’s not like he and Jamie Lynne were ever married, and I doubt he’d be able to get enough custody that it’d warrant a significant amount of child support. He’s either incredibly stupid or incapable of controlling his temper and just spouted off at the mouth. But I’m guessing it’s probably both.

The article also mentions that Britney wants Jamie Lynn to move to L.A. and stay with her. But I seriously doubt (or just really really hope) that Jamie Lynn would do that.
