Jamie Lynn Spears’ mom and Miley Cyrus’ mom have heart to heart

tish1.jpg
The moms of teen queens Jamie Lynn Spears and Miley Cyrus had a heart-to-heart while enjoying some strong coffee. The two famous moms were seen talking at an outside table at a Century City Starbucks on February 27. What they were discussing is anyone’s guess, and Star Magazine is all too willing to speculate for us. They say that Miley Cyrus’ mom, Tish, must have been asking Lynn Spears how to weather controversy and keep her famous daughter out of trouble. Lynn Spears is not the person to give advice on how to raise a celebrity daughter. She has two, and the more sane one is pregnant at 16. From the way the conversation is described, it sounds like Lynne is the one asking for advice, and not the other way around as Star claims.

“They were sitting across from each other at an outdoor table early in the evening,” an eyewitness tells Star. Both were dressed casually, but there wasn’t anything casual about their conversation. “Lynne looked upset and was doing all the talking, while Tish listened intently, nodding her head in agreement. Lynne’s ex-husband, Jamie, was sitting at another table close by, talking with another guy, but they didn’t get involved with the women.

The reason for the Feb. 27 down-low get together…? A source tells Star: “The Spears and Cyrus families have become good friends, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they arranged that chat so that Lynne could share with Tish the lessons she learned as she’d tried to deal with and care for Britney and Jamie Lynn.”

The last year has obviously been tough on Jamie Lynn, 16, - and Miley hasn’t been immune to controversy either. A number of “naughty” personal photos of the 15-year-old have shown up on the Web… “Lynne’s advice certainly can’t hurt!”

[From Star Magazine, print edition, March 17, 2008]

Maybe Tish and Lynne were talking about the best place to get Restylane injections and Lynne was upset because the guy she uses screwed up her lips the last time. It really does sound like Lynne was upset about something, and she has a lot to be upset about. Things are improving for one of her daughters, but she’s not out of the woods yet. Her younger daughter is barely out of high school and is due to have a baby soon. By some accounts Lynne will be the primary caregiver for her latest grandchild. You would think that the woman needs good friends to confide in, given her situation.

Miley Cyrus and Tish Finley, 40, are shown on at “Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour” film premiere on 1/17/08 and at the American Music Awards on 11/18/07, Thanks to PRPhotos.

Jamie Lynn to guest star on new ABC show

Britney’s pregnant 16-year-old little sister is slated to guest star on a new ABC comedy, “Miss Guided.” The show is executive produced by Ashton Kutcher and is centered on a young guidance counselor at a high school.

Jamie Lynn Spears is coming to primetime.

The pregnant Zoey 101 star will appear in an episode of the ABC comedy, Miss Guided, premiering March 20 (8 p.m. ET). Judy Greer stars in the sitcom, playing a formerly awkward high school student who returns to her alma mater all grown up — and as a guidance counselor. Spears will appear in the premiere episode, called “Hot Sub,” as Mandy Ferner, a troubled student who gets some exciting news from college, according to ABC.

The show will also feature another big guest star: Ashton Kutcher, who executive-produced the sitcom, will play the titular hot sub — a Spanish teacher and a possible romantic interest for Greer’s character.

As a midseason addition to the schedule, Miss Guided was filmed in October after Spears wrapped Zoey 101 — but before the young actress announced her pregnancy.

[From People]

Sure, it was before Jamie Lynn announced the pregnancy- but she was definitely knocked up by then.

Since filming her spot on the show, Jamie Lynn has basically gone into seclusion, sources say at the order of her mother. She did pass her GED exam earlier this year and is said to be looking into college. It certainly appears that the teen is determined to keep her future viable even with a baby to raise. Of course, it could be due to those rumors that mom Lynne is the one who will actually be doing the baby-raising. I sure hope not.

Picture note by JayBird: Here are the most recent pictures of Jamie Lynn Spears, with her mother Lynne talking with friends in Kentwood, LA on Feb. 29th. The pregnant star of Zoey 101 was seen driving around and shopping. Images thanks to Splash.

Friend of Lil’ Romeo worries he is father of Jamie Lynn’s baby

Jamie Lynn out with Britney on October 7, 2007
A friend of rapper Lil’ Romeo supposed had a fling with Jamie Lynn Spears last year and is worried that he might be the father of her baby-to-be. Questionable source In Touch reports that someone close to the situation told them that this guy is hurt that Jamie Lynn blew him off after their brief romance, and that he’s upset she never contacted him to tell him of her pregnancy. As far as this guy is concerned, it could possibly be his.

In Touch also reports that Jamie Lynn dated ‘Lil Romeo briefly, but there is no allegation that he could be the father of her baby. There’s also another story that the 16 year-old was the victim of a predatory producer on her Nickelodeon show, Zoey 101, and that the unnamed much older man could be responsible for her pregnancy:

When Jamie Lynn fought with Casey, she became involved with a teenage pal of Lil’ Romeo’s, a confidant alleges. When the teenager heard Jamie Lynn was pregnant, “He was scared because they didn’t use protection,” the insider says…

Like most teenage girls, Jamie Lynn was often unsure of herself and her boyfriend Casey, 18, didn’t help matters. “Jamie Lynn said she and Casey were having serious problems and she was upset about it,” says the insider. “She said Casey cheated on her all the time, and that she couldn’t trust him.”

Deeply upset, Jamie Lynn turned to her new male friend for support and advice - and before long, the insider alleges things turned physicial. “The would fool around at his mother’s house. He was totally in awe of her,” the insider claims. “He said that she was very experienced and had a great body. He was in heaven.”

But it didn’t last long. “He was totoally upset but figured she had gotten back together with Casey,” says the insider. When the boy learned Jamie Lynn was pregnant, the insider says “he was scared” that he might be the father. But Jamie Lynn never contacted him, and his fears turned to hurt. “He feels like she brushed him off.”

[From In Touch, print edition, March 3, 2008. First paragraph is in an inset article, which is why it doesn’t lead naturally into the rest of the story]

The National Enquirer has an article this week that semi-supports this story. They claim to have an insider source who says that in a moment of anger Jamie Lynn confessed to Casey that he might not be the father of her baby. She later tried to take it back, but the damage was already done. What’s more is that Kevin Federline is said to have advised Casey to get a paternity test to determine if he is the father of the child once it is born.

Jamie Lynn is said to be pressuring Casey to marry her, but he is said to be reluctant given their issues and the fact that he’s not sure he’s the baby’s father.

Casey does seem to be around for the long haul, though. In Touch reports that he was spotted looking for a home with Jamie Lynn and her mother on February 18. They report that “The couple spent two hours negotiating with real estate agents to purchase the estimated $300,000 home in a gated community near Macomb, Mississippi, 20 minutes from Kentwood” [LA, where Jamie Lynn’s parents live.]

Jamie Lynn is reportedly due soon, around March 7, but that may be early as photos in the tabloids make it seem like she’s not really showing yet, but it’s hard to tell with the clothing she wears. That would make this story plausible if she was with this other guy in June of last year.

Britney and Jamie Lynn are shown out on 10/7/07, thanks to Splash News.

Note: We have two Jamie Lynn stories this morning, as Helen also covered the fact that she passed her GED.

Jamie Lynn Spears passes GED and is thinking about going to college

Jamie Lynn and her mom Lynn in October, 2007
Getting pregnant at 16 is hardly the best example, but Jamie’s way of dealing with it isn’t the worst.

Jamie’s mother Lynn did sell the story of her pregnancy announcement to OK! Magazine. I’m not sure if that was the best move, but if someone was going to profit from the announcement, it might as well be her family. It sounds like it was her mother’s decision, not hers. Also, that way she gets to sell the story on her own terms instead of having people speculate. Since then she’s been lying low, although she was photographed wearing what looks like a Heineken t-shirt, which is probably not the classiest look for an expectant mother.

Jamie Lynn has passed her GED exams, and is planning on going to college.

The Zoey 101 star passed her high school equivalency exam about a month ago – scoring particularly well on reading comprehension – and is looking to take the ACT college entrance test, the friend says.

“She’s already got her diploma,” according to the friend. “She wants to take her ACT. She’s not wasting any time. People don’t know her. When she gets something in her head, she’ll make it happen. Everybody is so supportive of her.”

[From People]

I’m really impressed with Jamie Lynn – she seems to have her head on her shoulders and is doing a great job in a tough situation. I’m not saying the her way of dealing with the situation is for everybody, but I’m glad she’s doing her best.

Jamie Lynn has one thing over other pregnant teens of course: a supportive family and financial security. Obviously that isn’t available to all young women in her situation. She was also photographed outside of a teaching institute that has classes on how to care for your children, which is something all parents should do regardless of how old they are. It’s not all instinct, and at least taking a class gives you something to say to your mother when she tells you “Don’t hold the baby like that, you’re doing it all wrong.”

Jamie Lynn is due sometime around March 7, according to some reports, and she is said to be having a girl. She might be one of those lucky women who don’t really have a big bump, so she could be close to popping, but she doesn’t look quite big enough to me. She did say earlier in her pregnancy she lacked an appetite, so maybe that accounts for the bump size.

Picture note by Celebitchy: Jamie Lynn and her mom, Lynn, are shown at the airport on 10/6/07, thanks to Splash News.

Britney’s mom let her get breast implants as a teen

91836023.jpg

I’ve tried really hard to defend Lynne Spears - at least to a reasonable point. I don’t think it’s fair that all the blame fall on her, especially when Britney has a father that doesn’t get blamed, and she’s an adult now. But as more revelations come to light, Lynne’s making it pretty hard for me to stand by her side. Rolling Stone is doing a cover story on Britney titled “An American Tragedy.” The article is based on interviews with her friends, employees, and others who’ve come into her life over the last fifteen years. Rolling Stone has released a few excerpts, some of which make it pretty hard not to blame Britney’s parents a good deal.

As a teen, the singer’s mother, Lynne, allowed her to get breast implants. But after going under the knife, “she regretted the implants, particularly because her chest was still growing,” a friend says. “When her natural breasts became larger, she had the implants removed.” But Spears kept the surgery a secret. Adds the friend, “When other girls did their boobs [they admitted it] and moved on, but Britney was brought up to lie about herself.”

[From Us Weekly]

The magazine also says Britney never bonded with father Jamie Spears because he was an abusive alcoholic. That’s not exactly brand new information, but explains why it must be extra aggravating for Jamie to be in control of Britney’s life right now. Britney’s record label also worked her very hard. If Rolling Stone’s reporting is accurate, then it’s definitely in violation of child labor laws.

When Britney was just beginning her career in the 1990s, she was bribed to work around the clock. “If she didn’t want to come out of the trailer, the label would come to me saying, ‘Please talk to Britney, make sure she performs, and we’ll take you on a shopping spree,’” a close friend says. Adds her former driver: “We would wake Britney up at 6 a.m., and she’d work on a video for three or four days straight for 20 hours a day.”

[From Us Weekly]

It’s long been rumored that Britney and Justin Timberlake broke up because she cheated on him. Rolling Stone says that Britney started sleeping with choreographer Wade Robson around the time of the 2001 VMAs, and Timberlake found out in February 2002 when the two were appearing on “Saturday Night Live” together. He confronted her and refused to accept her apologies. Now I really want to get a hold of a copy of that show and see if it’s possible to see anything between the two.

According to Rolling Stone, Justin really had his head screwed on right and was good for Britney, with the exception that - after dating him - she expected all the men in her life to rescue her and fix everything. While it sounds like she had a lot of help falling to where she is, a lot of people have endured far worse. Hopefully doctors can figure out what’s wrong with her and at least bring her back to some level of sanity, if not to performing.

Is Jamie Lynn “running away from home?”

Something tells me the Spears clan will never get much peace. Whenever things start to seem like they’re getting just a teeny, tiny bit better, something happens and they get five times worse. It’s kind of a one step forward, two steps back situation. Though Jamie Lynn Spears seems like the better off of the two sisters, that’s not really saying much. Who hasn’t got their stuff together when compared to Britney? The three legged dog I saw hopping down the street yesterday has got its life together - and a lot more going for it - than Britney Spears. After all, that dog may have a plastic sheet lining the floor of his crate, but he doesn’t have padded walls. While Britney is getting all the attention, pregnant 16-year-old Jamie Lynn is having a lot of drama of her own.

For the last few months sources have been saying that mother Lynne Spears and Jamie Lynn have not been getting along so well. Lynne took Jamie Lynn back home to Kentwood, Louisiana after she announced her pregnancy - presumably to keep her away from prying eyes. Jamie Lynn’s been laying low and hasn’t been photographed much, but there have been several reports that Lynne has barred Jamie Lynn from seeing her baby’s dad, Casey Aldridge. Some articles are saying that Jamie Lynn wants to marry Casey, while others say she just wants to be with him. Regardless, it seems a little late to keep the two from each other. Not much has been said about what Casey’s role will be in his child’s life, but it seems like it’d be a good idea to keep good relations between young new parents. Supposedly Jamie Lynn has become so frustrated with Lynn that she’s going to move to California to live with her father, Jamie Spears.

“Jamie Lynn is moving to Los Angeles to live with her dad,” an insider told the Enquirer. “She wants to be settled in before the baby is born in March or early April — and she wants to be closer to film projects she’d like to start after giving birth.”

But Jamie Lynn’s plans to become a working mom aren’t the only reason Britney’s little sis decided to go west. Lynne’s decided that the teenager’s baby daddy, Casey Aldridge, is off limits.

“Jamie Lynn loves Casey and wants to marry him, but her mom is dead set against it,” an Enquirer source said. “Jamie Lynn knows that once she’s out from under her mom’s thumb in Kentwood, she and Casey will be together.”

Lynne also worries that once her little girl’s in Los Angeles, she’ll fall under another negative influence — Lynne’s older daughter Britney! “Jamie Lynn knows Britney smoked and drank during her pregnancy — and because Britney’s boys turned out fine, Jamie Lynn thinks her baby will be fine too,” the source confided. To be continued…

[From MSNBC]

If I were Jamie Lynn, I wouldn’t just assume that I’d get to do whatever I wanted by moving in with my other parent. Supposedly the reason Jamie Spears was put in charge of Britney’s medical/legal care is that Lynne has trouble saying no to her - and Jamie doesn’t. Unless he fundamentally disagrees with Lynne about Casey, you would think that the move wouldn’t really facilitate easier access to the boyfriend. If Jamie Lynn wants to move for her career, that’s certainly not a bad idea. I’m guessing what she really wants to do is move to California and get settled with the baby, and then probably get emancipated so she can have access and control over her money. The combination of being Britney Spears’ younger sister and all the publicity from her pregnancy has certainly raised Jamie Lynn’s profile. I’m guessing she won’t have a hard time finding work - though probably not on child-friendly networks anymore.

Picture Note by JayBird: Jamie Lynn has been pretty camera shy lately. Here are some older photos, including pictures with boyfriend Casey Aldridge.

Lynne Spears talks about her battle to save her daughters

lynnseldke.jpg

Lynne Spears has really outdone herself. She got a lot of the blame for Britney being so messed up, and for a long time I thought that seemed unfair. But when you’ve got one daughter who’s gone into rehab three times in a little over a year, is on her second lockup in psych ward in two months AND a knocked up sixteen year old, you’re not exactly looking like a flawless parent. But for some reason I still can’t put my finger on, I really don’t think she’s the worst celeb parent out there. She’s not trying to look like she’s 25, nor does she go out clubbing and drugging, a la Dina Lohan. When you hear some of the other celeb mothers talk, you can’t help but notice how incredibly dumb they are. I don’t just mean in their choices, I mean that they are completely lacking intellect. Lynne Spears is nothing special, but she seems to be relatively intelligent, and likely in way over her head. Britney’s level of psychosis is far beyond what the average parent is equipped to deal with, at least without some help. And it’s important to remember that if nothing else, Britney is an adult. She has a ton of money and power. Lynne Spears is no longer in a situation where she can force Britney to get help. I’m not saying she’s a saint, I’m just saying her hands are probably a bit tied.

Luckily Britney is finally in a mental hospital again. I’d lock her up just for doing that asinine British accent. Whenever I see tapes of her being a moron and speaking that way, I really want to put her in a prison isolation cell. It’s incredibly annoying and stupid, and I’ve lost all sympathy for the wreck. She’s just fallen so far that it’s all she has left to get attention. Before Britney was hospitalized this morning, Lynne gave an interview to Life & Style, in which she said she was doing her best for her daughters.

“Britney’s on my mind day and night. She never leaves my thoughts.” Nor does Jamie Lynn, who’s 16 and nearly five months pregnant. “Jamie Lynn’s my baby,” Lynne confided. “I’m doing my best. I’m doing as well as can be expected.”
“I love Britney dearly,” Lynne tells Life & Style. “I want nothing more than to protect her and make everything all right for her.” Told that people still believe she’s a good mother, Lynne managed a smile and replied, “Thank you. That means a lot right now with everything that’s happening.”

[From Life & Style, Feb. 11, 2008, print edition]

I’m not saying Lynne Spears is a perfect mom or even a good mom, but I don’t think she’s nearly as evil as people like to portray her. What it all comes down to is that no one really knows. Not even friends and family of the Spears can really say, because everyone’s still a little biased, if by nothing else than what Lynne says about herself and her kids and what her kids say about her. Really the only people that can know if she did right by her children are Lynne and Britney, Jamie Lynn, and their older brother Brian. The rest of us are just speculating. And while a lot of blame is often piled onto Lynne, no one ever seems to ask where Britney’s father Jamie is. He was just as responsible for raising his kids properly as Lynne. Though they recently divorced, they were married for all of Britney’s formative years. If people are calling Lynne out for the way Britney was sexualized and objectified early on, then the same applies to Jamie Spears.

Jamie Lynn Spears possibly smoking & drinking while pregnant (update)

jamielynnkid15.jpg

Lynne Spears’ phenomenal parenting reign continues. Though I’m sure it’s very hard to control your kids when they have a ton of their own money, I’m sure there’s a way to do it. And I’d agree that it’s probably extra hard when they’re sixteen and pregnant. But if there’s any time to figure out how, that would be it. According to Life & Style, Jamie Lynn Spears is drinking and smoking while pregnant. While it’s shocking in theory, it should be that surprising considering the epic standard set for her by older sister Britney Spears.

“She’s been going out with her friends recently and staying out late,” L&S’s insider said of the approximately 4 ½-month pregnant teen. “Her mom and dad are both worried that Jamie’s late-night partying isn’t good for her — or her child.” While Jamie Lynn returned to mom Lynne’s Kentwood, La., home for support during her pregnancy, the “Zoey 101” star is ignoring any motherly advice. “Jamie Lynn continues to break every rule Lynne makes,” a family friend shared with the magazine, “and there are no consequences.”

According to L&S, some speculate that along with her partying, Jamie Lynne may still smoke and drink. Dr. Steven Sherwin, an ob-gyn that doesn’t treat Jamie Lynn, told L&S that even a half a glass of wine is unsafe for pregnant women, and smoking can cause low birth weight. What’s more, the magazine points out that doctors often advise pregnant women to avoid stress — something Jamie Lynn has lots of. “Everything in Jamie Lynn’s life is causing stress right now,” another insider told L&S. ”She’s worried about her career, her relationship with Casey (the baby’s father) and being a mom at 16.”

[From MSNBC]

It’s sad that a sixteen year old girl would have to worry about her career. Of course it’s even more sad that she’d be pregnant… and even sadder that she might be drinking and smoking. More women than I’d expect seem to think an occasional glass of wine while pregnant is fine. Several celebs have been photographed drinking in public while with child. Considering all the things Jamie Lynn has working against her, I would think it’d be a good idea if she could lay off the sauce for four and a half more months. Or do something really dramatic for a Spears woman… wait until she’s 21.

Update by Celebitchy: I don’t think this story is true. The main reason is that Star Magazine ran a story last week about Kevin Federline possibly writing a tell-all and included a blurb about how Jamie Lynn was smoking and drinking at the beginning of her pregnancy before she knew she was expecting. It looks to me that Life and Style took that article and embellished it to say she’s drinking and smoking now, which I doubt to be the case. JayBird doesn’t pour over the gossip rags like I do and I don’t blame her for reporting this story. Here is what Star had to say about this last week, and it sounds suspiciously similar:

Kevin could dish, sources say, on how Jamie Lynn has already endangered her unborn baby girl. “Jamie Lynn has been drinking and smoking since becoming pregnant!” says a friend of Kevin. While Jamie Lynn’s publicist says that “both claims are completely false,” the friend insists otherwise: “For a while, she had no idea she was expecting, so she went about her normal life, which included drinking with friends and smoking cigarettes.”

Jamie Lynn Spears to let her mom ruin her baby’s life too

starmagazine.jpg
This week’s Star Magazine leads with the headline “Pregnant Jamie Lynn Giving Up Her Baby!” in all caps with a yellow bubble that reads “Troubled Teen’s Desperate Decision.” (They also claim that Angelina and Brad are adopting a Katrina orphan so we’ll have to see if that has anything to do with Jamie Lynn.)

Inside the magazine the news is a little less sensational, because it’s not as if Jamie Lynn is giving the baby up for adoption - she supposedly decided to let her mother raise her child so that she can continue with her career. The baby will live in Jaime Lynn’s hometown of Kentwood, LA and be cared for by its grandmother while Jamie Lynn does what she has to do for her career. Another reason that’s given for why she is letting her mom raise the baby is so that she can continue with some semblance of a teenage lifestyle, but it seems like the money she brings in is more of a motivating factor in this decision:

“Lynne says Jamie doesn’t understand the life long consequences of having a baby.

“She still wants her daughter to be able to be a teenager, go to parties, hang out with friends and have a career.

“So she’ll take the front seat of caring for the baby and take the pressure off her daughter…”

Since the news broke Jamie Lynn has left Los Angeles and headed back to Kentwood where she has been attending high school equivalency and parenting classes.

She has been staying at the family’s $3 million estate but once the baby is born she is planning to return to LA.

But despite the news she is pregnant at 16, residents in the tiny town, whose population is just 2,200, are supporting the teen.

Kentwood local Pam Wright said: “How many 16 year-old girls get pregnant every week?

“It doesn’t mean that she’s a bad person. I don’t think this will end her career, life will go on.”

And that is exactly the same attitude mum Lynne is taking with her daughter.

The insider added: “She wants Jamie Lynn to continue her show business career after the baby is born and Jamie Lynn also realizes she wants to enjoy her teenage years without the responsibilities of caring for a baby.

“Lynne is convinced that having a baby on her hip will not help Jamie Lynn’s future in the business and she’s expecting her daughter to pick up where she left off as soon as the baby is born.”

According to the source, Jamie Lynn’s managers also agree and have advised Lynne that the best thing to do is have Jamie photographed with the baby as soon as it is born, sell the pictures and then take over raising her own grandchild.

[From Showbizspy.com]

Doesn’t that sound so calculated “Jamie Lynn’s managers also agree and have advised Lynne that the best thing to do is have Jamie photographed with the baby as soon as it is born.” This is Star Magazine we’re talking about though, so it’s not like any of this is necessarily true. It’s also not out of the ordinary. A lot of grandmothers raise their grandchildren when the mother is too young or otherwise unable to care for them.

Unlike Britney, we’ve had hardly any glimpse of Jamie Lynn since her pregnancy announcement apart from a single outing in which she was seen picking up materials for her GED while wearing a hooded sweatshirt.

The shocking news about 16 year-old Zoey 101 star Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy was quickly eclipsed by her older and more famous sister’s standoff with police in which she held her youngest son hostage for several hours, refusing to turn him over for his scheduled visit with his father. Britney has since taken up with a married paparazzo and pulled so many other stunts that it’s hard to remember the brief time that another one of her family members dominated the press.

Britney also told Jamie Lynn to get an abortion

We reported yesterday that Britney Spears is said to have told her pregnant 16-year-old sister, Jamie Lynn, not to marry her baby’s daddy and end up like her. That story was first covered by The Enquirer, and now they have a follow up that states that Britney also recommended that Jamie Lynn get an abortion. She wasn’t aware of how far along her sister was at that point, though, and is said to regret giving her that advice. Jamie Lynn’s mother Lynne is also said to have told her daughter not to carry the baby to term.

When Britney learned Jamie Lynn’s baby news, she called and had a showdown with her sister, telling her “not to ruin her life by going through with the pregnancy,” said a source.

“Britney told Jamie Lynn it was best for her to get an abortion and move on with her life and career and not to look back.”

But Jamie Lynn, who is due March 7, told Britney she is going to keep the baby and that she is making her “own decision and not letting anyone tell her to get rid of the baby.”

Britney began crying, could barely speak and quickly hung up the phone, says the source.

[From The National Enquirer, print edition, January 14, 2008]

It sounds to me like The Enquirer knew that Britney told Jamie Lynn not to get married or have the baby and that they broke the story up into two parts for maximum impact.

It’s entirely plausible that Britney said this. The baby gift basket Britney bought her sister is rumored to be a peace offering after she felt guilty for recommending an abortion.

Jamie Lynn is said to be due on March 7 and to be expecting a baby girl. That would make her seven months’ pregnant, as commentors pointed out, not six as we incorrectly reported before. It sounds as if Jamie Lynne may have deliberately kept the news from her mother until it was too late for her to safely have an abortion. Obviously she decided to keep the baby against the advice of her family. Given the quotes from Jamie Lynn, it sounds like this baby wasn’t entirely an accident. She may have deliberately “forgotten” to take precautions, and indeed she is quoted as saying “Whatever happens, happens” when asked in an interview about her future plans, including children.

There is speculation that the father of Jamie Lynn’s baby is an older producer on her now probably-canceled tween show Zoey 101. The unknown adult would surely face statutory rape charges if he did father her baby.

This whole story is just sad, especially considering Britney’s very public meltdown early this morning. When you think about it, though, she had a lot of motivation to act like such a twat. Her sister is all over the papers and she’s not getting much press for her average wacky antics. Getting the focus back on Britney required a whole new level of crazy, and she brought it.
