Britney Spears’ dad Jamie is really reigning her in. Which is wonderful – until last night, we had seen nary a crotch shot from her. I guess she has to rebel in whatever ways she still can. I’m guessing that Jaime didn’t make a bodyguard inspect Brit’s lady bits when she left the house yesterday. And I’m also guessing that from now on, he most definitely will. Hopefully he won’t go all Joe Simpson and do the job himself though. Jamie Spears is watching Britney so closely that he’s ordered her bodyguards not to let her go to a bathroom or bar alone. And he also positions them all around restaurants wherever she eats. That’s right, Papa Spears is gonna get shit done.

Britney Spears’ new bodyguards are on strict orders from her dad, Jamie: Don’t let her go to a bar or a bathroom alone! The popwreck went to Jeffrey Chodorow’s new LA restaurant Citrus at Social on Saturday night with her father, a few friends and a woman described as “her chaperone.” The group sat at a table to eat, but Spears hardly touched her lobster burger, preferring butter-fried frites and Tater Tots. When she got restless, her bodyguards, stationed at several places throughout the eatery, jumped into action. “She continuously got up from the table to go to the bathroom or hang out at the bar and smoke a cigarette,” our spy said. “Bodyguards followed her to the bathroom and bar.” Another snitch who saw Spears leave noted, “She took a coffee cup from the restaurant with her.”

If Britney really is bipolar, that could easily explain her antsy behavior. Considering how closely she’s being monitored, I would guess it’s unlikely (though certainly not impossible) that she’s on anything she shouldn’t be on. Although if I were at that restaurant, I would have found her behavior incredibly annoying. Getting up and down a lot drives me nuts. The Daily Mail also noted that it looks like Brit has packed on a few pounds recently. Frankly, considering some of the things she was supposedly doing to lose weight, putting on a couple pounds is a welcome alternative. Jamie Spears seems like he’s been a really good influence on Britney, though I’m sure she doesn’t think so. The guy has his own job as a chef and isn’t supported by Britney, which speaks well of him. He’s also never talked to the press, which seems pretty rare for a celeb parent these days. It’s too bad he didn’t have his act together when Britney was growing up, because he seems like he could have been a good influence on her. Right now Britney needs to focus on getting herself put back together again, but hopefully in time she can repair her relationship with her parents and they can all make amends. For right now, she just needs to focus on wearing underwear.

It’s truly amazing that Sam Lutfi still has not been served with his restraining order mandating that he stay away from Britney Spears. It was approved two weeks ago, but Sam has managed to stay below the radar, and technically the restraining order isn’t in effect until he’s served. I would imagine that Britney’s parents have hired some pretty good people to get to him, so he must literally not be leaving his house. Britney must be the only thing in his life, if she’s worth all this hassle. And things just keep getting worse for the Svengali: the LAPD’s Major Crimes Division is investigating Lutfi for his admission that he continually drugged Britney.

TMZ is reporting that Lutfi is being investigated by the Major Crimes Division of the LAPD. Brit’s conservators have complained that Sam drugged her as a way of keeping her under his control. Lutfi, of course, could not be reached for comment, however his spokesperson Michael Sands says that he is aware of the investigation.

Britney’s mom, Lynn Spears, gave a signed declaration to the court earlier this month, revealing that the night she arrived at Britney’s house for an intervention, Sam openly detailed to her his method of keeping Britney drugged up. “Sam told Jackie and me that he grinds up Britney’s pills, which were on the counter and included Risperdol and Seroquel. He told us that he puts them in her food and that was the reason she had been quiet for the last three days. He told us that the doctor who is treating her is trying to get her into a sleep induced coma so that they could then give her drugs to ‘heal her brain.’”

Of the investigation, a court insider confirms to OK!–”Yes. He was practicing medicine without a license when he was grinding up a cocktail of prescription pills and putting it in her food. There’s no doubt about that being a felony among other charges.”

Risperdal and Seroquel are antipsychotic drugs that are used in high doses to treat schitophrenia, in lower doses to treat bipolar disorder, and in very small doses to treat insomnia. Seroquel is also used to treat suicidal patients directly after a suicide attempt or if a patient is thought to be seriously contemplating suicide. They both have highly sedating properties on their own – combined they would create quite the zombie. They also have a long list of bizarre (and not uncommon) side effects that could explain some of Britney’s unusual behaviors. She definitely should never have been driving while on both of them. It sounds like Sam wasn’t so much “treating” Britney as he was sedating her.

Sam is also supposedly helping Britney “fight back” against her parents – or at least that’s how E! is putting it. He filed a petition to get Britney’s case moved to federal court, and also stated that she’s being kept from freely associating with her friends, handling her money, driving her car, etc. All those things are true – they’re pretty much the whole point of the conservatorship.

“Sam is at war with Jamie. This is his first strike,” a Spears insider said Friday, explaining that Lutfi feels Britney’s rights were violated because court-appointed attorneys did not investigate the claims her family was making about her condition. Lutfi’s new publicist, Michael Sands, who insists that the case has been transferred, filed the petition this week on behalf of New York attorney Jon Eardley, who is listed in the paperwork as Britney’s counsel.

“Ms. Spears has been denied the right to associate freely with friends. She has been denied the right to make or receive telephone calls. She has been denied the right to operate a motor vehicle…She has been denied the right to receive and send mail,” the petition states. “Additionally she has been denied the right to her finances. She is not allowed to access her money or credit cards. Britney has expressed that she doesn’t want to be under the lock and control of her family,” Sands said Friday. “She wants nothing to do with her father.”

Michael Sands also insists that Britney’s case has already been transferred to federal court, even though all court sources say that’s not the case. Sam clearly doesn’t like that Britney’s parents are taking charge of her life. It has nothing to do with Britney not being able to freely do what she wishes, it has to do with someone besides Sam being in control of her. Britney’s freedom is the last thing on his mind. Hopefully someone will catch him soon and serve him with the restraining order… and maybe a nice little arrest warrant too.

It turns out I am not the only person who’s a really, really big fan of whatever Jamie Spears is doing to daughter Britney. Today there is a court hearing to determine whether to extend his conservatorship, and it’s generally thought that the court will agree to it. Jamie has gone old school on Britney, confiscating her pink wig, refusing to let her impulse buy cars, pets, and houses, hauling her out of a hotel, and even hiring a team of security professionals to enforce the rules. Is this all a bit extreme for a 26-year-old woman? Hell yes, and it’s exactly what Britney needs. The woman has hardly been seen (and thus hardly been chased) by the paparazzi. I’m not saying she’s all better or not acting crazy, but at least she’s not acting crazy in public. That means she can’t further destroy what’s left of her reputation.

Britney even taught a dance class to a group of seven-year-olds. I was (and remain) absolutely critical of it at the time (what parents let their kids around a woman who isn’t even allowed around her own kids?) BUT it does show that Britney’s thinking about people besides herself, and that’s huge. It’s also a positive break from her usual routine of driving around aimlessly and patronizing every Rite Aid within 100 miles of her home. While I was afraid she might scar the children (which apparently she didn’t) it’s definitely indicative of a positive behavior on her part.

A commissioner will consider extending Jamie Spears’s temporary control over his daughter’s estate in a hearing Thursday afternoon, amid signs that his approach is keeping Britney Spears safe and out of trouble.

The singer’s father has been overseeing her well-being and her $40-million fortune since Feb. 1, when Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz named him and Andrew Wallet temporary co-conservators – giving them the right to employ bodyguards who control her actions and restrict her visitors. While Spears has been on her best behavior, sources say she’s been text-messaging friends from inside the house, complaining that she’s bored.

“She’s getting proper medical care and has professional security. The chaos has been removed from the situation,” says one legal insider, who anticipates that Goetz will prolong the temporary conservatorship at the hearing.

Yay for sensible legal professionals! I was initially a little hesitant about Jaime Spears, since by most accounts he was not a positive part of Britney’s life growing up. He was a (supposedly) verbally abusive, disinterested alcoholic. However he has cleaned himself up and has been working as a chef for the last few years. Which also means he hasn’t been financially supported by Britney in anyway, which speaks highly of him. It also means she doesn’t have as much power over him – she can’t threaten to cut him off. Britney has often been said to behave like an 8-year-old. Given that, there is a possibility that what she needs is someone to parent her a bit, or at least look out for her until she can properly take care of herself.

It’s hard to say to what extent Britney Spears’ dad Jaime Spears is helping his daughter. He seems to be treating her like a four-year-old… which I can’t really say is a bad idea. Remember that time you hit your sister a little too hard with that plastic hammer from your play toolkit, and your dad took the whole toolkit away? That seems to be what Jaime Spears is trying to do to Britney. Supposedly he’s trying to get the court to order that she can’t drive, can’t check into hotels, can’t have access to her credit cards – now, horror of horrors – can’t wear the infamous pink wig! I don’t think he’s actually going to court for that last one; it appears Jaime just took it away. X17 has photos of him carrying a pair of jeans, a top, , what looks like a pillow, a legal pad, and… drum roll… the wig! Everything looks kinda grimy, probably because it’s Britney’s. Hopefully it’s all going in the trash.

Britney Spears’ father has confiscated her notorious pink wig in an apparent bid to straighten up her act. Jaime Spears was seen carrying the singer’s toupee, which is synonymous with the singer’s wild image and partying, at the weekend in LA. Celebrity website X17online speculated that the hairpiece could have been confiscated by Mr Spears, who has been supervising his daughter since she left a psychiatric hospital last week. The bobbed wig has come to signal the onset of a depressive episode, with her ousted manager Sam Lutfi revealing last month: “When the pink wig comes on, it’s getting bad.”

The troubled star, who checked herself out of the UCLA Medical Centre earlier this week, was spotted wearing torn fishnet tights and exposing her underwear while on a cigarette break at the Millennium dance studio in Hollywood. Looking bedraggled, the bra-less 26-year-old skipped out of rehearsals to smoke and adjust her torn fishnets in full view of waiting photographers. She was escorted by a burly new bodyguard, who was reportedly hired by her parents to keep a constant watch on the wayward singer.

I have a list of requests for changes I’d like Mr. Spears to enforce under his conservatorship.

1. Make Britney stop biting her nails. I’m sick of seeing nails down to the bone with two specks of nail polish on them. She’s 26 for crying out loud.

2. No more animal prints. They don’t flatter anyone.

3. No more tights with continent-sized holes in them. In fact, no more tights.

4. Pro-Active. It worked for Jessica Simpson and P-Diddy.

5. Bras! Look, we understand that putting in and pulling out multiple implants will make a boob sag. But a properly-fitting bra will at least keep us wondering to what degree they sag, instead of knowing for sure.

6. Pants. ’nuff said.

7. No more Hanes Beefy Tees worn inside out and backwards. While inside out and backwards may be a perfect metaphor for Britney on the whole, it does not look awesome on the aforementioned braless frame.

8. Take away the cigarettes.

9. No more Starbucks. That amount of sugar isn’t helping the crazy.

Thanks Mr. Spears. I’d ask you to make her be a good mom and a nice, regular person, but let’s be real, you’re just her conservator, not a miracle worker. So if you could just make her a little less offensive to the eyes, that’s all I can realistically ask for anymore.

Since their daughter has repeatedly refused to listen to their pleas to stay in treatment and get help, Lynne and Jamie Spears are now using legal measures to try to stabilize Britney. And the law might actually be in their favor–at least for now.

TMZ is reporting that Adam Streisand, the lawyer Britney hired to fight the appointment of her father as her conservator while on a 5150 hold at UCLA Medical Center, has withdrawn from the case.

At the request of Britney Spears, Adam Streisand, a Partner at Loeb & Loeb LLP, met with her yesterday to discuss her legal rights in connection with the conservatorship over her person and estate. Following that meeting, Mr. Streisand learned that the court had issued orders that prevent Ms. Spears from retaining counsel of her own choosing, and on that basis, Mr.Streisand has decided he will not represent her at this time.”

Further, Lynne and Jamie have asked Britney’s former lawyer in the divorce case with Kevin Federline, Laura Wasser, to renew ties with Britney and help out with her ongoing custody case. Britney’s parents say Wasser is trustworthy and untainted by the influence of Sam Lutfi. Sources say Britney was happy to see her old counsel.

TMZ has learned disso queen Laura Wasser paid a secret visit at the UCLA psych ward last Tuesday, and the family wants Laura back as Brit’s custody attorney.

Wasser, who repped Brit in the divorce, quit the case — we’re told because Britney wouldn’t listen to her. But sources say Jamie and Lynne want her back.

TMZ knows Jamie wants to 86 Trope and Trope as Brit’s reps, in part because they have been chummy with Sam Lutfi. People at UCLA say Britney “lit up” when she saw Wasser. But there’s a hitch — we’re told the deal will be sealed ONLY if Britney doesn’t fight the conservatorship. As of Tuesday, she was fine letting Jamie call the shots, but it looks like that’s changed.

If Brit accepts the conservatorship and Jamie is at the reins, Laura Wasser could be back in the Britney business.

In an even more bizarre turn of events, the former publicist for K-Fed lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan, is now serving as a spokesman for none other than Sam Lutfi. I don’t even know what to say about that- except that it demonstrates how powerful Sam has become since inserting himself into Spears’ life.

At 5 p.m. Eastern Time, TMZ was reporting that Jamie Spears and the family attorneys were on their way to the Los Angeles County courthouse, to possibly ask that the conservatorship be made bigger in scope. Supposedly, he wants to prohibit Britney from driving, checking in and out of hotels, and inviting the paparazzi into her home and car. Given the wild goose chase that ensued yesterday after Britney left the hospital, he is probably right.

This goes to show how difficult it is to force an adult to get treatment for mental illness or substance abuse when they are not willing to get help themselves. It’s got to be incredibly frustrating, but it appears that Jamie Spears is in this fight for the long haul. If anyone can save Britney from herself, it’s her dad.

I’ve tried really hard to defend Lynne Spears – at least to a reasonable point. I don’t think it’s fair that all the blame fall on her, especially when Britney has a father that doesn’t get blamed, and she’s an adult now. But as more revelations come to light, Lynne’s making it pretty hard for me to stand by her side. Rolling Stone is doing a cover story on Britney titled “An American Tragedy.” The article is based on interviews with her friends, employees, and others who’ve come into her life over the last fifteen years. Rolling Stone has released a few excerpts, some of which make it pretty hard not to blame Britney’s parents a good deal.

As a teen, the singer’s mother, Lynne, allowed her to get breast implants. But after going under the knife, “she regretted the implants, particularly because her chest was still growing,” a friend says. “When her natural breasts became larger, she had the implants removed.” But Spears kept the surgery a secret. Adds the friend, “When other girls did their boobs [they admitted it] and moved on, but Britney was brought up to lie about herself.”

The magazine also says Britney never bonded with father Jamie Spears because he was an abusive alcoholic. That’s not exactly brand new information, but explains why it must be extra aggravating for Jamie to be in control of Britney’s life right now. Britney’s record label also worked her very hard. If Rolling Stone’s reporting is accurate, then it’s definitely in violation of child labor laws.

When Britney was just beginning her career in the 1990s, she was bribed to work around the clock. “If she didn’t want to come out of the trailer, the label would come to me saying, ‘Please talk to Britney, make sure she performs, and we’ll take you on a shopping spree,’” a close friend says. Adds her former driver: “We would wake Britney up at 6 a.m., and she’d work on a video for three or four days straight for 20 hours a day.”

It’s long been rumored that Britney and Justin Timberlake broke up because she cheated on him. Rolling Stone says that Britney started sleeping with choreographer Wade Robson around the time of the 2001 VMAs, and Timberlake found out in February 2002 when the two were appearing on “Saturday Night Live” together. He confronted her and refused to accept her apologies. Now I really want to get a hold of a copy of that show and see if it’s possible to see anything between the two.

According to Rolling Stone, Justin really had his head screwed on right and was good for Britney, with the exception that – after dating him – she expected all the men in her life to rescue her and fix everything. While it sounds like she had a lot of help falling to where she is, a lot of people have endured far worse. Hopefully doctors can figure out what’s wrong with her and at least bring her back to some level of sanity, if not to performing.

Note by Celebitchy: US Weekly has the entire declaration by Lynne Spears supporting the restraining order against Britney’s self-proclaimed manager Sam Lutfi, and the details are disturbing. Lynne’s statement is clear and compelling and makes a strong case for Britney never to see this guy again. After reading this, I think that a lot of her recent issues can be explained by the extreme amount of medication she was on, much of which may have been without her knowledge. The highlights are:

• Lutfi said that he routinely mashes up medication and puts it in Britney’s food
• Lutfi disabled all of Britney’s cars so that she could not leave the house without her permission.
• Lutfi threw out all the chargers to Britney’s cellphones so that she could not use them, and cut the wire for the phone in her house
• Lutfi told Britney she could see her boys on Wednesday if she took the medication he gave her, after which she said “I’ll do anything to get them back.”
• Lutfi bragged to Lynn about the control he has over Britney’s life, and said that “You’d better learn that I control everything. I control Howard Grossman, Britney’s business manger. I control her attorney’s and the security guards at the gate. They don’t listen to Britney, they listen to me. That’s why Jamie was gone tonight.”
• Lutfi said that if Britney’s family cut him out of her life that she wouldn’t take her medication and would kill herself. He said “If you try to get rid of me, she’ll be dead and I’ll piss on her grave.”
• Details of Lutfi’s fight with Britney show how he emotionally abused and berated her, calling her a “piece of trash,” an “unfit mother,” and a “whore.”
• Lutfi tried to get everyone to do tequila shots, and then switched to wine when people declined. Britney refused to drink the wine he offered her and switched hers with her mothers.
• Lynne Spears says she was agitated and unable to sleep that night, and that it seemed very odd to her that she could not sleep. She said she felt like she drank too much coffee.
• Lynne’s friend Jackie, who had wine with them at Lutfi’s insistence, also said that she felt anxious and like she had been drinking coffee.

Here is MSat’s coverage of this very unsettling account by Lynne. If all this is true, it makes Britney seem like the victim in this. If she is taking huge amounts of medication without her knowledge of course she would behave erratically and make poor decisions.

The ugly truth is finally coming about about “friend/manager” Sam Lutfi. In a restraining order filed by Jamie and Lynne Spears against Lutfi, Lynne Spears paints a picture of a mentally unstable and unaware Britney Spears becoming completely reliant upon Lutfi, who, among other things, was in cahoots with the paparazzi, drugged Spears without her knowledge, cut her phone lines, interfered with her custody court hearings, and even disabled the pop star’s vehicles. It sounds as if Lutfi was keeping her prisoner through manipulation and bully tactics. US Weekly has published the entirety of Lynne Spear’s statement on what she found after entering her daughter’s home after that big fight between Britney and Sam just before her hospitalization:

Two or three paparazzi came into the house and entered the kitchen. They greeted Sam. The paparazzi then reported to Sam where Britney currently was. From the conversation between Sam and the paparazzi I determined that Sam had given Felipe (another paparazzi) one of Britney’s cars to get her out of the house when he heard that Jamie and I were on our way to see Britney. I also understood from the conversation that Sam disabled all of Britney’s cars. (she has several at her residence.)

Sam had told Britney that Jamie and I were coming to the house to do an intervention, and that Britney panicked and took off with Felipe. Another man named Chad Hardcastle was in the house.

I also heard that evening that Britney’s and Sam’s fight that evening, Sam had told Britney that she was an unfit mother, a piece of trash and a whore, that she cares more about Adnan, her current boyfriend, than she cares about her kids, and that she does not deserve her kids.

The paparazzi reported to Sam and addressed him with great respect. They treated him like a general. He instructed them to get her back to the house. They later told Sam that Britney was on her way back.

Britney then came back to the house with Adnan, who is also a paparazzi. Sam then told Jackie [Lynne's friend] that we needed to do whatever he tells us. I objected. He then told me, “I’m the one who spends 24/7 with your daughter. I sleep in cars outside her house so she can’t leave.” Sam then said, “You people throw everyone under the bus, if you don’t listen to me I’m going to make your name sh** in the papers.”

As I looked around the kitchen, I noticed that in the middle of the kitchen table there was a large car battery. At some point during the evening I learned that the car battery was there so Sam could charge his cell phone. Although Britney has several cell phones, he told us that he had disposed of all of the phone chargers and had made the house phones unworkable.

You’d think that would be bad enough, but it gets worse. Sam bragged about drugging Britney without her knowledge, and told Lynne that he is in completely control of her and that she better watch out:

Sam told Jackie and me that he grinds up Britney’s pills, which were on the counter and included Risperdol and Seroquel. He told us that he puts them in her food that that was the reason she had been quiet for the last three days (she had been sleeping.) He told us that the doctor who is treating her now is trying to get her into a sleep-induced coma so that they could then give her drugs to heal her brain…

Sam told me,” You’d better learn that I control everything. I control Howard Grossman, Britney’s business manger. I control her attorney’s and the security guards at the gate. They don’t listen to Britney, they listen to me. That’s why Jamie was gone tonight.”

This certainly explains why the Spears’ are fighting so hard to disentangle their daughter from this maniac, and why they didn’t want Howard Grossman to serve as a conservator.

Possibly the most chilling part of Lynne Spears’ testimony is the following, in which Britney asks Sam about getting her sons back:

Britney then said again at some point during the night, “When do I get to see my babies?” Sam answered, “Wednesday. “ Britney then said, “What do I have to do to see them?” Sam responded, “Take the pills I tell you to take.” Britney said, “I don’t like the pills and I don’t like the psychiatrist. Can’t I see another psychiatrist so I can see my babies?” Sam responded, “If I told you to take 10 pills a day, you should do what I tell you to see your babies.” Jackie then said, “Britney, your parents can help you find a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist needs to get to know you to give you the right medicine.” Sam then raised his voice and said, “Why don’t you get back with Kevin.”

This is disturbing for several reasons, but it sounds as though Lutfi has been telling Britney that she will actually be able to see her children, when in fact she has lost all visitation rights. He tells her that she will see the boys on Wednesday, when in reality, there was a custody hearing set for Wednesday. Could it be that Britney shows up at the courthouse thinking she is going to see the children?

As for Sam’s claim that Britney “has hatred” for her father, Lynne testified that it was Britney herself who wanted her father to step in and help.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Sam Lutfi winds up facing criminal charges on this. Maybe some of our esteemed readers who are lawyers can comment on this.

Meanwhile, x17 (which many suspect keeps Lutfi on their payroll) has little to say on this revelation, choosing instead to focus on Britney’s life in lockdown. They actually seem to be siding with Lutfi.

Lutfi told US Weekly that the restraining order against him “won’t last” and that “They’re never gonna be able to rule her forever.”

Something tells me the Spears clan will never get much peace. Whenever things start to seem like they’re getting just a teeny, tiny bit better, something happens and they get five times worse. It’s kind of a one step forward, two steps back situation. Though Jamie Lynn Spears seems like the better off of the two sisters, that’s not really saying much. Who hasn’t got their stuff together when compared to Britney? The three legged dog I saw hopping down the street yesterday has got its life together – and a lot more going for it – than Britney Spears. After all, that dog may have a plastic sheet lining the floor of his crate, but he doesn’t have padded walls. While Britney is getting all the attention, pregnant 16-year-old Jamie Lynn is having a lot of drama of her own.

For the last few months sources have been saying that mother Lynne Spears and Jamie Lynn have not been getting along so well. Lynne took Jamie Lynn back home to Kentwood, Louisiana after she announced her pregnancy – presumably to keep her away from prying eyes. Jamie Lynn’s been laying low and hasn’t been photographed much, but there have been several reports that Lynne has barred Jamie Lynn from seeing her baby’s dad, Casey Aldridge. Some articles are saying that Jamie Lynn wants to marry Casey, while others say she just wants to be with him. Regardless, it seems a little late to keep the two from each other. Not much has been said about what Casey’s role will be in his child’s life, but it seems like it’d be a good idea to keep good relations between young new parents. Supposedly Jamie Lynn has become so frustrated with Lynn that she’s going to move to California to live with her father, Jamie Spears.

“Jamie Lynn is moving to Los Angeles to live with her dad,” an insider told the Enquirer. “She wants to be settled in before the baby is born in March or early April — and she wants to be closer to film projects she’d like to start after giving birth.”

But Jamie Lynn’s plans to become a working mom aren’t the only reason Britney’s little sis decided to go west. Lynne’s decided that the teenager’s baby daddy, Casey Aldridge, is off limits.

“Jamie Lynn loves Casey and wants to marry him, but her mom is dead set against it,” an Enquirer source said. “Jamie Lynn knows that once she’s out from under her mom’s thumb in Kentwood, she and Casey will be together.”

Lynne also worries that once her little girl’s in Los Angeles, she’ll fall under another negative influence — Lynne’s older daughter Britney! “Jamie Lynn knows Britney smoked and drank during her pregnancy — and because Britney’s boys turned out fine, Jamie Lynn thinks her baby will be fine too,” the source confided. If I were Jamie Lynn, I wouldn’t just assume that I’d get to do whatever I wanted by moving in with my other parent. Supposedly the reason Jamie Spears was put in charge of Britney’s medical/legal care is that Lynne has trouble saying no to her – and Jamie doesn’t. Unless he fundamentally disagrees with Lynne about Casey, you would think that the move wouldn’t really facilitate easier access to the boyfriend. If Jamie Lynn wants to move for her career, that’s certainly not a bad idea. I’m guessing what she really wants to do is move to California and get settled with the baby, and then probably get emancipated so she can have access and control over her money. The combination of being Britney Spears’ younger sister and all the publicity from her pregnancy has certainly raised Jamie Lynn’s profile. I’m guessing she won’t have a hard time finding work – though probably not on child-friendly networks anymore.

Lynne Spears has really outdone herself. She got a lot of the blame for Britney being so messed up, and for a long time I thought that seemed unfair. But when you’ve got one daughter who’s gone into rehab three times in a little over a year, is on her second lockup in psych ward in two months AND a knocked up sixteen year old, you’re not exactly looking like a flawless parent. But for some reason I still can’t put my finger on, I really don’t think she’s the worst celeb parent out there. She’s not trying to look like she’s 25, nor does she go out clubbing and drugging, a la Dina Lohan. When you hear some of the other celeb mothers talk, you can’t help but notice how incredibly dumb they are. I don’t just mean in their choices, I mean that they are completely lacking intellect. Lynne Spears is nothing special, but she seems to be relatively intelligent, and likely in way over her head. Britney’s level of psychosis is far beyond what the average parent is equipped to deal with, at least without some help. And it’s important to remember that if nothing else, Britney is an adult. She has a ton of money and power. Lynne Spears is no longer in a situation where she can force Britney to get help. I’m not saying she’s a saint, I’m just saying her hands are probably a bit tied.

Luckily Britney is finally in a mental hospital again. I’d lock her up just for doing that asinine British accent. Whenever I see tapes of her being a moron and speaking that way, I really want to put her in a prison isolation cell. It’s incredibly annoying and stupid, and I’ve lost all sympathy for the wreck. She’s just fallen so far that it’s all she has left to get attention. Before Britney was hospitalized this morning, Lynne gave an interview to Life & Style, in which she said she was doing her best for her daughters.

“Britney’s on my mind day and night. She never leaves my thoughts.” Nor does Jamie Lynn, who’s 16 and nearly five months pregnant. “Jamie Lynn’s my baby,” Lynne confided. “I’m doing my best. I’m doing as well as can be expected.”
“I love Britney dearly,” Lynne tells Life & Style. “I want nothing more than to protect her and make everything all right for her.” Told that people still believe she’s a good mother, Lynne managed a smile and replied, “Thank you. That means a lot right now with everything that’s happening.”

I’m not saying Lynne Spears is a perfect mom or even a good mom, but I don’t think she’s nearly as evil as people like to portray her. What it all comes down to is that no one really knows. Not even friends and family of the Spears can really say, because everyone’s still a little biased, if by nothing else than what Lynne says about herself and her kids and what her kids say about her. Really the only people that can know if she did right by her children are Lynne and Britney, Jamie Lynn, and their older brother Brian. The rest of us are just speculating. And while a lot of blame is often piled onto Lynne, no one ever seems to ask where Britney’s father Jamie is. He was just as responsible for raising his kids properly as Lynne. Though they recently divorced, they were married for all of Britney’s formative years. If people are calling Lynne out for the way Britney was sexualized and objectified early on, then the same applies to Jamie Spears.
