Jenna Dewan on her husband Channing Tatum’s stripper past: I love it!

wenn2009302
Last week we saw video of newlywed GI Joe star Channing Tatum, 29, stripping at the age of 18 in an all-male revue in Florida. Channing went by the name of “Chan Crawford” when he worked his stuff for the screaming ladies, wagging his ass in an backless thong and giving lap dances. I wondered at the time if Channing’s new wife, actress Jenna Dewan, 28, new about her husband’s sordid past.

Jenna recently told a paparazzo that not only did she know that Channing used to be a stripper, but she sort-of confirmed that she gets to benefit from his moves at home. Lucky girl:

Photographer: Recently it was reported that Channing used to be a stripper.
Jenna: I love Chan Crawford. [Channing's stripper name]
Photographer: Does he ever give you private dances?
Jenna: What do you think?
Photographer: If you’re a regular married couple he does.
Jenna: Of course.

One person wondered in the comments on our earlier story whether it was sexist to act like it’s no big deal that a man was a stripper while the same career choice was stigmatizing for a woman. It seems like there’s a difference between the two though, with women more likely to be involved in the seedier aspects of adult entertainment just based on demand. Maybe me even making that assumption is sexist, though. Most of you didn’t seem to care, and thought that Channing was either hot, or a little dorky gyrating in that video (below) with his socks on. His wife is relishing it, and says she gets a piece of that at home whenever she wants. Would a famous guy say the same if their wife used to be a stripper? Probably not, but that might have more to do with public opinion about women stripping than their feelings on the matter.
